He’d been searching for his beloved when he saw them, Hanshoku Kanona made flesh. He couldn’t believe his eyes. S-rank ass, D-rank chest, long brown hair with matching eyes, milky skin, and perfect teeth. He’d thought his beloved would be the closest he’d ever get to seeing perfection in real life, but the lithe form in front of him changed everything.
“Listen kid, I’m not for sale.” The voice, while not deep, was male. Well, maybe absolute perfection came at a cost. How could he have thought himself worthy of seeding the pinnacle of humanity after all. Nevertheless he could practically visualize his darling in a mating press.
“I’m a man. Don’t underestimate me, I’ll be sure to win your heart.” He quoted his favorite badass anime character  Yūdokuna otokorashi-sa.
“Excuse me?”
“What do you like? I’ll prove myself worthy of your love.”
“Honey I have expensive tastes, a brat like you could never satisfy me.” Just as quickly as he’d met them, he watched his beloved strut away. He’d seen him then. A designer suit and jewelry adorning his body. If his beloved wanted to be a sugar baby he could provide.
Kanona would never have been driven by greed, but once he’d lured his beloved into his grip he could show him the way. He’d make sure to get as much information as possible from the strippers at school. And finally lay his trap.
—-
He cornered one of the Chads the next day.
“Listen man, I don’t want any trouble.” He’d put his hands up. Yes, he had his knife out, but it was necessary for the interrogation. It was lunchtime so there wouldn’t be anyone in this hallway.
“Just answer my questions and there won’t be any problems.”
“Ok ok, just put the knife down dude.”
“NO! Not until you answer my questions.” He pulled some of his pictures out, his hands trembling from the adrenaline.
“Who is this? And what do you know about them?”
“Huh, Briar. He’s the owner of the brothel. A really corrupt and evil person, is he blackmailing you? If you need help Kylar-” The information close at hand his frenzy grew.
“No I don’t! Give me more information!”
“Um ok. He’s um basically an alcoholic, but he only drinks wine. He’s got a daddy kink. Shit… what else? He’s dangerous, I don’t recommend catching his eye. If he really likes you, you'll get better paying but more degrading shows or have to service him personally.” The Chad rambled. He trembled with rage at the thought of this jock getting to touch his beloved. For a hot second he considered stabbing him, but it wasn’t his fault if his beloved was slutting around trying to find his soulmate. Besides, neither of them were still pure.
“Never touch him again!”
“Listen man, if it was my choice I’d never even go to Harvest St.” The Chad shrugged. He grit his teeth before leaving to get to his next target. He found her flashing passersby in the courtyard. He couldn’t believe he’d once thought this mere Stacey was worthy of his affection.
“Come with me!”
“You wanna fuck?” The bimbo asked, eagerly following him. He led her to a bathroom stall.
“What do you know about Briar?” She seemed confused, lowering the skirt that didn’t cover the cum dripping down her legs. He couldn’t believe only yesterday seeing that would have filled him with jealousy.
“The brothel owner? He’s a real shady sonnuva bitch. You don’t want to get involved with him bruv, you might end up in a real froggy situation.”
“Tell me about him!” She scoffed,
“What about him? He’s a sloppy drunk and a solid fuck. Likes pretty things, likes breaking pretty things. Real sadist type ya know? One of the worst scum this town has to offer but he’s charismatic.” They weren’t saying anything of substance about his beloved. Merely his negatives, the negatives he was going to fix.
Without saying anything else he left the bathroom stall. That must mean no one truly knew him. He’d get his beloved to open up to him and only him. He chose to forgo the rest of his lessons and dedicate himself to his mission.
He rushed home to collect his tool kit. He heard his parents hissing with displeasure over him cutting class. But they didn’t understand, no one did. He grabbed his surveillance equipment: bugs, camera, binoculars, his spy cameras, and tracking devices.
He stared reverently at his poster of his dear Kanona, soon he would be able to feel her between his fingers. He dressed in a fully black outfit, completed with a hoodie, mask, gloves, and sunglasses. While he may not be the ideal size of an alpha male it wasn’t all negative. Plus, that Stacey had always told him he had inches where it mattered.
One look at his dick and his precious would know he was a true alpha male. And ever since he’d started following Dr. Magnum’s workout videos he’d been gaining physical strength. Combine that with his limitless pepper spray supply and he would be unbeatable. Finally, factor in his wealth and there was no debate he was a high-value man.
He recited Dr. Magnum’s fifteen affirmations for high value men in the mirror until he felt the strength from the words in his soul. Prepared and confident he headed towards Harvest Street. He followed the hidden paths that avoided the other townspeople.
He made it to Harvest Street without a confrontation and snuck into the brothel unnoticed. Since it was still afternoon, there weren't many patrons. He had to be extra discrete while planting his bugs and spy cameras.
He kept a constant scan of the brothel as he worked. No one noticed him. Once he set devices to have a 24/7  stream of data from the brothel he slid into the shadows to wait for his beloved to come out of his office.
As it got later in the evening more patrons and strippers arrived. His beloved shouldn’t associate with all these dirty grimy people. Well, soon the only person his dear Kanona would see was him. Shortly after the Stacey strutted in, Briar finally stepped out of his office.
He resisted the urge to abduct his darling right then and there and forced himself to focus on his mission. He picked the lock to the room with ease and slipped in, making sure to lock it behind him.
Instead of a desk like he expected he saw a rather ornate sofa. There were a few filing cabinets and barrels in the room but besides that the room was empty. He quickly set up his bugs and cameras. He found a stash of wine bottles.
They were expensive, but not as expensive as some of the bottles in his parents' wine cellar. He might have just found a good use for them now.
He went through and inspected the other fixtures in the room. The barrels he saw a large amount of aphrodisiac drugs. He wanted to go through the filing cabinets, but he didn’t want to risk leaving a trace. As he was doing a final sweep he noticed a door hidden in the wall.
Intrigued, he picked the lock and snuck into the room. It looked like a bedroom, a private bedroom. Glee tickled his spine. This room was meant only for his darling’s eyes, no one else. This was their little secret. He was overjoyed as he planted his bugs and spy cameras. There was even a little bathroom attached to the room. His feed would be glorious, he could never have expected such a stroke of good luck. He set cameras everywhere.
He took note of what kind of soaps and perfumes he preferred. Even the clothes and jewelry. And couldn’t resist the urge to steal a pair of red briefs out of the underwear drawer. His beloved scent was all over them. He inhaled deeply, sighing in pleasure.
As much as he wanted to stay in the room forever, he knew he couldn’t linger for too long or he’d run the risk of being caught.  Reluctantly he snuck back out of the bedroom and office. No one saw him, all focused on the admittedly impressive autofisting going on on stage. Even the security guards were watching his ex obsession contort herself on the stage.
He spotted his beloved sitting next to the Headteacher of all people. He swallowed down  jealousy and refocused. Now came the tricky part after all. Even for the Stacey he’d never considered implanting a tracking device, but now it felt necessary.
He couldn’t risk his precious Kanona ever being able to get away from him. He readied his syringe and crawled on the disgusting ground to evade attention. He made it to his beloved's ankle, the needle tip was small enough that he wouldn’t feel it, but he wished he could sanitize the area before sticking him. He plunged it quickly and efficiently, as he’d predicted it went unnoticed.
While he was under their table he decided to eavesdrop and tie Leighton’ shoes together.
“Ugh, I tried to get her to do private photoshoots for me, but she laughed and said she could use the publicity.” He was so close to his beloved, but he didn’t dare touch him. He did sniff him though.
“Psh, pay her enough and she’ll do anything. If you can’t even afford one of Bailey’s whores you really are worthless. This towns so fucked who doesn’t have a sextape floating around at this point? Once your students figure that out, you’ll be powerless. We’d have to call you Failton.” He was glad his beloved didn’t seem to care for the Headteacher even if they were sitting together.
“Shut up slut, what’ll you do when people realize they’re paying for something this town provides for free?”
“Convenience fee darling, besides my services satisfy certain tastes. The underground has a queue after all.” His beloved’s voice took on a layered tone. These underground dealings were likely what had struck fear in the Chad and Stacey’s heart. Well he’d just have to purify his darling’s soul. He took one last sniff before sneaking away.
He had the rest of his preparations to make after all. Back at home he prepared his surveillance room. He set up the different channels for his camera feeds and then their complimentary audio channels. He had several screens dedicated to showing the feeds and then a central screen that could enlarge a feed and play the audio.
He watched his beloved for a while before heading to bed. Now that the preliminary preparations were complete he’d be able to relax. Continue to go to school and keep his parents and society satisfied.
Soon he’d have his precious Kanona and she’d never want to ever be apart from him. Ever.
___
When some creep had talked a big game about winning him over he hadn’t really put much stock in it. He knew he was hot, and he used it to his advantage. So when the guy popped up a week later with the most expensive bottle of wine he’d ever seen he almost didn’t know how to react.
He recovered quickly enough to smile and twirl his hair on a finger. He assumed  he’d raided some cellar and had no idea what he actually had in his hands.
“Aw, thanks cutie.” He cooed, grabbing the bottle. He batted his eyes and asked his name.
“Ky... Kylar.” Even a stutter, this was going to be too easy. He’d always been partial to keeping a sugar daddy around, though it had been a long time since he’d had a consummate sugar daddy. Nevertheless, his old charms came flooding back like muscle memory.
“Kylar… hmm what a cute name.” Kylar’s whole face turned red, he bit back a laugh.
“Maybe you can satisfy my tastes after all.” He smiled before strutting away from the guy. He could practically hear the gears turning in his head as he walked away.
Usually he would drink in his office, but he wanted to savor this in private. And be sure it wasn’t tampered with.
He grabbed his fanciest wine glass and a corkscrew then settled onto his bed. The seal was still perfectly intact, he smiled.
Aged one hundred years, he couldn’t wait. Alone he was free to dress up and fantasize a bit.
He slipped into a lace negligee and posed in front of the mirror.
“Honey you’ve still got it.” He hadn’t even had to give anything up for the wine bottle, his new diet must be working better than he’d thought. He inspected his body carefully, there were no imperfections that he could see. He put on a jewelry set, now he looked perfect.
He laid down on his bed and uncorked his wine bottle. It smelled heavenly, he poured himself a glass and flicked it around with his wrist. He sipped and moaned. The bottle really didn’t disappoint, it was smooth and strong.
He drank almost half the bottle and found himself asleep. In the following weeks Kylar got him luxury perfumes and soaps. He quickly swapped them into his daily routine. His skin and hair had never been so soft.
He’d never had a paypig before but he was loving it. Kylar’s weekly visits soon came to be his favorite day of the week.
A few months into their relationship Kylar came up to him holding some jewelry boxes. He couldn’t wait to see how they topped the gifts he’d already received.
“Ooh, come to my office sweetie.” He practically dragged him to his sofa.
“What’d you get me this week?” He purred. Kylar stuttered but finally managed to say jewelry. Eagerly, he grabbed the biggest case first.
It was a genuine pearl necklace. He could feel his jaw drop a bit, this was the most expensive jewelry he’d ever held in his hands. It practically shone in the box.
His hands shook as he put the necklace on. Then he reached out for the next box. Pearl and opal earrings, he put them on eagerly. This matching set must look gorgeous. He could see the shine reflecting from them.
It made his own jewelry look like mere trinkets in comparison.
“One more.” Kyar said and opened up a ring box. A lustrous opal ring surrounded by small pearls. It was gorgeous. He took off the rings he already had on and put it on his ring finger. He stared at it, mesmerized by its beauty.
“I got the rings and earrings custom made, though they can’t compare to your beauty.”
“Aw, you're such a smooth talker.” He waited for the shoe to drop, surely even a virgin wouldn’t give such expensive jewelry for nothing in exchange.
“Don’t worry my love, these are just gifts from me to you. I can wait-” He muttered something under his breath and before he could blink Kylar was gone. How flattering, he hadn’t thought he could still get people to fall in love with him with just a look.
He rushed into his room to dress to match his new jewelry. He slipped on the light blue suit jacket Kylar had gotten tailor made for him. Then gazed at his reflection in the mirror.
He wasted almost half an hour enraptured with the jewelry. Such lustrous gems weren’t often seen by commoners. He needed to keep himself in Kylar’s good graces. He giggled to himself wondering how Kylar would top this. He hadn’t imagined that the brat was anything more than just a thief.
He finished picking out the luxury outfit that matched his new jewelry, he wondered how long had Kylar been planning out these gifts for them to match perfectly. With a spritz of the cologne he’d been gifted, he finally stepped out of his room.
All eyes were on him, as they should be. He could taste the jealousy in the air. He smiled and called his driver. There were some “independent contractors” he wanted to get under his control today. When the limo pulled up he slid into his seat.
“Take me to the cafe and after that the pub.” He was craving pancakes, but he was likely going to get a fruit salad. Then shakedown some floozies and he could call it a day.  Five minutes into the ride his eyes got heavy and he fell asleep.
When he woke up his head was pounding. There was something heavy around his neck, he sat up slowly. He kept blinking trying to refocus his eyes. He felt around his neck and found a collar that was attached to a metal chain. He tried to get it off, but it wouldn’t budge. Who would dare kidnap him! He shook with rage as he tried to free himself.
There were no weak points on the chain. It was better than the restraints he used in the underground. He took in the room. He was on a king sized bed and the blankets were soft enough. There was a dresser with a mirror attached. He looked at himself.
His hair was a mess but he looked normal enough. He still had his ring and earrings on, but the necklace had been replaced with the collar. He got off the bed. To his surprise the chain could extend from the wall. He walked towards one of the doors in the room and the chain didn’t stop him. He opened the door and found a bathroom. It was already prepared with toiletries and cosmetics.
Was this another underground ring trying to show off their power? But there was no way his bodyguards wouldn’t have noticed. He walked out the bathroom to the next door and tried it.
He’d expected it to be locked but it opened out to a hallway. He tried to step out of the room, but the chain didn’t extend anymore. He tried to force it and suddenly the chain flew back into the wall, yanking him on the bed by the neck. He coughed and sputtered trying to regain his breath.
He tried to feel for a weak point on the collar, but couldn’t find it. He pressed on the usual failure points, but nothing worked.  He heard a rustling coming from the hallway, he prepared himself for a confrontation. But to his shock it was Kylar.
“My precious Kanona-chan, finally I have you all to myself. It’s been so hard waiting, but tonight we can finally consummate our love.” Kylar’s face was split into a monstrous grin.
“What the fuck are you talking about!?” He got up ready to beat the shit out of the little motherfucker, but an electrical jolt from the collar brought him to his knees.
“Oh my love, don’t be like that. I don’t want to have to punish you. Tonight we’ll have so much fun. I have your outfit for tonight. You already have the ring.” Kylar paused to giggle to himself. This guy was insane, he backed up into the bed.
“You can’t keep me here, you… you psycho.” He spat. He screamed when the collar jolted him again. He collapsed onto the bed. Kylar walked up to him and pet his hair.
“Oh darling, don’t worry no one will find us here. So put this on. I don’t want you to get punished again.” He spoke like he wasn’t the one hurting him and dropped a brown parcel onto the bed.
“I’ll give you some privacy to get changed, but it’s not like I haven’t seen it before. And make sure you put everything on. If anything’s missing you might have to get punished.” Kylar stalked out of the room. He pressed a hand to his chest, his heart was actually racing. He knew he was angry, but could it be that he was scared too?
With shaking hands he reached for the package. He opened it and found a white short ball gown. He stripped and put it on numbly. It didn’t even cover his butt. He’d done the same to countless whores, but he’d never expected to be on the receiving end. There wasn’t even underwear in the bag, though there was a white leg garter. He slipped it on.
He looked in the mirror. He looked like some kind of perverse bride, he’d had girls do a few shows on the concept but it was a little too cliche for his tastes. It didn’t take long for Kylar to stumble back in, this time wearing an ill fitting suit.
“My beautiful bride, this will be a night we remember for the rest of our lives. Tomorrow we’ll dance, but tonight we’ll have some fun. Just like in the first volume of Isshō tsudzuku no ni jūbun'na hanshoku.” Kylar pushed him onto the bed. He had no idea what he was raving about, when he tried to struggle he was shocked again. He went limp on the bed.
“First, the garter.” He watched Kylar go down to his thigh. The bastard mouthed at it, kissing his leg sloppily. Before finally grabbing it with his teeth and pulling it down. Once he finished that he jumped up and pressed a kiss to his mouth, it tasted overwhelmingly of mint.
“I’d follow the manga to a t, but I wouldn’t want it to hurt. Heheeheehe, I learned that the hard way. No, my darling there’s no pain play till volume three. Today’s our simple wedding night.” Just how long did this freak plan on keeping him here.
“Listen… I’ll let you get one freebie. Just let me go after ok. Please Kylar, there won’t be any consequences if you do.” His voice sweet as pie, he batted his eyes.
“You want this just as much as I do my love? Oh my darling I’ll never let you go!” This motherfucker wasn’t listening at all. Kylar pinned him on his back and climbed up his body till he could kiss him. Kylar forced his tongue into his mouth. Kylar kept his eyes open staring directly at him while he kissed him. Eventually he just closed his eyes to escape his gaze, letting Kylar do what he wanted.
Green eyes weren’t a rarity in this town, but something about Kylar’s eyes actually made him feel nervous. Kylar didn’t let up for air, he felt his eyes start to water. He had no choice but to bite down on Kylar’s tongue to try and get him to let up. Of course the collar shocked the hell out of him, but at least Kylar pulled back. He gasped for air, still laying on his back.
“Oh my dear Kanona-chan, if you wanted to skip to consummation you should have just said that. You know I could kiss you forever.” Kylar was completely wrapped up in his own little fantasy world. He didn’t even respond. Just stared at the ceiling, willing it to be over with already.
He doubted a shrimp like Kylar could be packing much, or have stamina. That’s what he told himself as awkward fingers breached him. At least the dude knew to use lube.
He still felt pretty limber from the monthly farm orgy, so at least he had that going for him. Though small as Kylar’s hands were he could probably double fist him and he still wouldn’t feel it. He wasn’t particularly skilled either. If he told himself it was just a pity fuck that might make it more bearable.
Despite the crushing blow to his pride, so far things had been pretty vanilla. So really he just needed to focus on escaping. Or cajole the creep into taking the collar off. He didn’t bother watching Kylar put it in. Maybe if he seemed disinterested Kylar would get a reality check.
Thus he was wholly unprepared for the biggest cock he’d ever taken to get rammed into him. He felt the wind get pushed out of him, even Remy’s stupid bulls weren’t that big. He tried smacking the idiot as he tried to blink the tears out of his eyes.
“What the fu- mmph” somehow the whelp was able to reach up and kiss him. Effectively muffling his complaints. He tried biting down on Kylar but that only seemed to inspire him. He’d never felt anything like this before. Maybe Remy could enjoy a battering ram on his prostate, he preferred his lovers to be more sensual. He almost choked on the spit pooling in his mouth. Finally Kylar let up so he could breathe. He gasped and sucked air in, body bouncing from the force of Kylar’s thrusts.
“You bastard! I’ll sell you to the farm for this! Mmph-!” The hands that had been clawed around his waist wrapped around his neck in a death grip. He tried to claw them off. Kylar looked mad as he humped into him.
“You love this , you love this, you love this…” He kept repeating it. He tried to loosen Kylar’s grip, but he was electrocuted. His body spasmed as Kylar kept fucking him. His body started feeling tingling as black spots started appearing in his vision. In a way the novelty was thrilling.
He never let anyone be so rough with him. None of his playmates ever so much as slapped his ass. As he started losing consciousness, his eyes started rolling back. He felt his arms falling limp at his sides as the world went black. When he woke up, he gasped.
His body tingled. He’d never felt anything like this, he felt his own dick was hard. Another hard jab to his prostate, he gasped gently. He felt hypersensitive now, his mind was foggy. He hadn’t realized when it started to feel good. He moaned quietly. Kylar suddenly stilled.
“Oh my dear Kanona! I knew you would love this too! If it’s better for you, you can call me daddy.” Kylar said pressing frenzied kisses around his chest before starting to thrust into him wildly. He bounced with each thrust. The shrimp had a surprising amount of core strength. Kylar’s sweat dripped onto him.
“I’m gonna breed you now, but don’t worry you won’t get pregnant until volume 6.” He shivered, feeling his own orgasm finally force its way out. Finally Kylar’s hips stuttered before he ground into him and collapsed onto him. He couldn’t believe he’d passed out on top of him. And he was still inside. Ugh… at least he didn’t have to deal with the cum dripping out for now. Kylar was almost endearing, cuddling into him. He shook his head. He needed to focus on escaping. But the afterglow got to him too and he fell asleep.

Chasing Angels| 1| Top Gun Maverick
@prettyinpayne @luckyladycreator2
The third time is a charm with this.
Being a Kazansky wasn't easy, especially going into the academy, and it was even harder when your other grandfather disappeared on a mission. But Bianca Kazansky is ready to prove that she is more than just her name and help Maverick try and rebuild their family before Iceman dies. Because they all knew that Maverick always messed things up and hopefully his daughter can help him fix it before it was too late.
masterlist
0.01
“You excited about this?” Bradley Bradshaw’s voice echoed through Bianca Kazansky’s bedroom, he had called her to talk while she was packing to go to the academy.
“Kind of. I am more worried about leaving my dad.”
“Still having problems with Mav?”
For the first time in ages when he said Mav it didn’t seem as bitter and she didn’t want to ruin that by dumping the drama on him.
She sighed and paused in folding her t-shirts, “I don’t want to drive that wedge again Brad.”
“Bee, he isn’t important. You are and Ice is.”
“There were some problems with the possibility of Mav cheating on Papa with Penny. Like there were a couple of blowout fights. Aunt Sophie and Igor took me to Los Angeles to get me out of the line of fire.” She sat down on the edge of the bed, “There were a lot of hurtful things said.” He was silent almost waiting for her to say something else. “Mav wasn’t ready to have a kid, Papa was.”
“Jesus Bee.”
“Yeah.” Bianca sniffed back the tears that rose up again, “Kind of heartbreaking. My own father didn’t want me. I have never seen Papa that mad before.”
“Mad like how he was when he found out we were together or mad like when Steven crashed Slider’s car into the house?”
Despite her sadness, she laughed and ran the back of her hand under her nose, “I don’t think he will ever forget that night he walked in on us.”
A warmth spread through her when he laughed.
“I miss you, Bee.’ He admitted, he had been thrilled when he found out that she was going to be a few hours away instead of the numerous expensive plane tickets, they had to avoid talking about their relationship status, mostly to stop one of them from getting hurt. He had casual girlfriends and she had gone on dates with boys at her school.  But nothing seemed to match up with them.
“I miss you too.” She returned, “Three more days and I will be out there. Papa is insisting that he and his staff come out there with me.” This is the furthest she would be from her father since he started going up the rank ladder and she wasn’t sure how she was going to handle it.
“You will do fine baby, once you are away from everything.”
Bianca went quiet for a moment, “I hate it when you are right.” He laughed again, he had told her repeatedly that he was right about this kind of stuff and she had a hard time believing it.  “Did I tell you that Stella and Stacey have been staying here too?”
There was a thud that sounded like a textbook hitting the ground, “They are what?!”
Stella was Ice’s former girlfriend from before he went to Top Gun and Stacey was their daughter. A daughter that he hadn't been involved with due to Stella running after she found out about Ice being with Maverick. And having a baby that he was excited about on the way. And about 2 years ago they showed back up and threw everything in their almost perfect little world upside down.
“Baby, you should have led with that.”
“Sorry. I didn’t want to jump all the way into the drama. The stuff with Maverick seems tame compared to this.”
“What are they doing now?”  Being the closest person to her that didn’t have an opinion on everything, he had heard all about the drama and how Stacey tried to take her room over when they first showed back up.
“Same thing as always, Stacey is thinking that because she is going to be a year ahead of me at the academy that it will make her, Ice’s favorite. And Stella is trying to change everything right off the bat. She tried to kick out the grandparents, Alex and Ana.”
Bradley laughed at that. There was no way in hell that Ice would kick out his family for a woman.
And especially not one like Stella.
“She came storming into my room when Mav and Papa were having that fight and Sophie was trying to get me out of the house and away from everything. And she freaked on me.”
“Please you didn’t go all Mitchell on her.”  The laughter was still clear in his voice.
“Bradley, you know me better than that.” She laughed, “I was very calm and collected until she thought you and I were dating and started reading me the riot act like she was my mother.”
“Bee.”  Both Bradley and Bianca had deceased mothers and it was a tender subject with both so he understood if she lost her cool at Stella.
There was a knock on the door stopping Bianca from answering. “Yeah?” “Time for dinner Bee.” Alex Kazansky’s voice came.
“Okay, I will be right there.” She returned, “I got to go, see you soon?”
“Of course.” Bradley returned, “call me back later if you need to talk.”
The familiar words of telling him that died on the tip of her tongue.
“Of course.” With that she hung up her phone and stood up from the bed.
“Please let it be a fighting night tonight.”

Divination Basics
Tumblr media
From the Roman priest reading auguries to interpret the will of the gods to the modern fortune teller reading with a deck of playing cards, divination has been a part of human spirituality for thousands of years. Today, divination is an important part of many witches’ practices, and can be an important tool for self-reflection and analysis.
Merriam-Webster defines divination as, “the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers.” Divination can be used for many things, not just to predict the future. It can be used to understand the past, identify patterns at work in your present, or as a tool for working through trauma.
In the book You Are Magical, author Tess Whitehurst describes divination as, “a way of bypassing your linear, thinking mind and accessing the current of divine wisdom and your own inner knowing.” As I’ve discussed in a previous post, all of us are receiving psychic information all the time, though many of us don’t realize it. Divination tools like tarot cards or rune stones act as triggers to help kickstart our natural psychic gifts.
Divination relies on the use of our intuition. Intuition is defined my Merriam-Webster as, “the power or faculty of attaining to direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference.” These are the things you know without needing to be told. Another way of thinking of it is this: your intuition is the way you interpret the information you receive through your psychic senses.
The most important thing to remember when doing divination is that the tool you are using isn’t giving you information — it’s simply helping you to access information you already know. The revelations come from you, not from the cards or whatever other tool you may be using.
When using divination to foresee the future, it’s important to remember that the future is never set in stone. These tools can only show you the most likely outcome based on your current direction.
 Beginner-Friendly Divination Tools
These are the divination methods I would recommend for beginners. For one thing, most of these systems are fairly easy to learn and use. For another, these are some of the most popular divination methods among modern witches, so it’s easy to find information about them and/or talk to other practitioners about their experience.
As you’ll see, each divination method has its own strengths and weaknesses, so you may choose to learn several methods that you can combine to get stronger readings. Or you may find that you can get all the information you need from a single method, which is also okay.

Tarot. This is my personal favorite divination method, but it’s also the one with the most misconceptions surrounding it. Tarot cards do not open a portal to the spirit world, and they probably didn’t originate in Ancient Egypt. In fact, evidence suggests that the tarot comes from a medieval Italian card game called Tarocchi, although the modern tarot deck as we know it didn’t come around until the 20th century. Tarot cards are not any more or less supernatural than ordinary playing cards. (Which, incidentally, can also be used for divination.)
Tarot makes use of archetypes, and many readers interpret the cards as a map of an archetypal spiritual journey. For this reason, tarot cards are especially useful for identifying the underlying patterns and hidden influences in any given situation.
Most tarot decks follow the same set of basic symbolism. Unfortunately, this does mean that new readers will need to study the accepted meanings. This isn’t to say that your readings will always match up 100% with the standard meanings of the cards — you may receive intuitive messages that deviate from tradition. Still, it’s helpful to know a little of the history and traditional symbolism behind this powerful divination tool. The good news is that, since most decks use similar symbolism, once you learn the traditional meanings you can successfully read with almost any tarot deck.
I’m planning to post a more in-depth introduction to tarot very soon, but in the meantime, if you want to learn this divination method I recommend starting with the book Tarot For Beginners by Lisa Chamberlain and/or with the website Biddy Tarot.
Tumblr media
Oracle Cards. Oracle cards have been rapidly gaining popularity in the witchcraft and New Age communities in the last few years, and it’s easy to see why. One major appeal of oracle cards is how diverse they are — there are countless different oracle decks out there, each with its own theme and symbolism. Another big plus is how beginner-friendly they are; Oracle cards are usually read intuitively, so most decks won’t require you to learn a complex system of symbolism. (Of course, the fact that every oracle deck uses different symbolism can be frustrating for some readers, because they have to learn a new set of symbols for every deck.)
Some readers (myself included) also find that oracle cards usually give more surface level information. Tess Whitehurst says that, “While oracle cards can help us answer the questions ‘What direction should I take?’ and ‘What is the lesson here?’ tarot cards are more suited to helping us answer the questions ‘What is going on?’ and ‘What is the underlying pattern at work here?'” For this reason, many readers choose to use tarot and oracle cards together to get a more well-rounded look at the situation.
Another common complaint about oracle cards is that many decks are overwhelmingly positive and shy away from dark themes or imagery, which creates an imbalanced reading experience. I think this is best summed up by one Amazon review for the Work Your Light Oracle, which says: “Basically, this is very much a deck for Nice White Ladies(TM) who like crystals and candles but aren’t ‘super into all that witchy stuff.'”
There ARE oracle decks out there that address darker themes, but many of the most popular decks on the market are overwhelmingly positive. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes a little positive encouragement is more helpful than brutal honesty. However, too much focus on the positive can lead you to ignore your problems, which only makes things worse in the long run. For this reason, finding balanced decks is important — if you’re going to use a very shiny happy deck, my advice would be to alternate it with more grounded decks, or with a deck specifically designed for shadow work.
That being said, oracle cards are a great divination tool if you can find a good deck, especially for beginners who are intimidated by more structured systems like tarot and the runes. If you’re interested in working with oracle cards, the best way to start is to find a deck that 1.) you feel a strong attraction to, and 2.) has a good guidebook. (My favorite oracle deck is the Halloween Oracle by Stacey Demarco, which I use for readings all year.)
Tumblr media
Runes. The Elder Futhark alphabet is a runic alphabet that originated in ancient Scandinavia around 200 AD. While this was an actual writing system, it also had magical and mythological associations in the cultures that originally used it. While using the runes for divination is a modern practice, it is based on the historical sense of magic surrounding these symbols.
Like tarot, the runes have a traditional set of meanings. However, because there are only twenty-four runes, there aren’t as many meanings to learn as there are with tarot. Some rune sets also contain a blank stone, which has its own special meaning. I have personally found the runes to be a great source of wisdom and insight, although they do tend towards “big picture” messages rather than small details.
However, there is one major stain on the runes’ history; they were studied and used by Nazi occultists before and during World War II. Like many symbols associated with historical Germanic paganism, the runes were appropriated as part of Nazi propaganda — for example, the Sowilo rune was incorporated into the SS logo. This isn’t to say that you can’t reclaim the Elder Futhark alphabet, but I do think it’s important to know the history going in. Because of their association with Nazism, it’s best to avoid wearing or publicly displaying the runes.
There are other ancient alphabets that are used for divination, like the Anglo-Saxon runes or the Irish Ogham, but the Elder Futhark is the most popular.
If you’re interested in learning divination with runes, I recommend the book Pagan Portals: Runes by Kylie Holmes.
Tumblr media
Pendulums. Pendulums are interesting because, unlike tarot, oracle cards, and runes, they can be used to answer yes or no questions. For this reason, many readers use pendulums to get clarification on readings they’ve done with other divination methods, but you can also use pendulums on their own.
A pendulum is any small, weighted object hanging from a chain or string. You can buy a pendulum made specifically for divination from a metaphysical shop or an Etsy seller, but you can just as easily use something you already have: a necklace, your housekey, or a small rock or crystal tied to a string.
Pendulums may be the easiest divination method to learn. The only thing you need to do to learn how to interpret a pendulum is ask it what its “yes” and “no” motions look like. To do this, simply hold your pendulum in your hands and focus on your connection to it. Then, let the pendulum hang from its chain or string so it can swing freely. Say or think, “Show me ‘yes’.” Allow the pendulum to swing, and pay attention to its movements. “Yes” is often a forwards-and-backwards swing or a clockwise circle, but your “yes” may look different. (Some witches even notice that different pendulums in their collection have different “yes” and “no” movements!) Once you’ve gotten the pendulum to show you its “yes,” ask it to show you its “no.” For many readers, “no” is a side-to-side swing or a counterclockwise circle, but again, yours may be different.
The biggest downside to pendulums is that because they typically only answer “yes” or “no,” you have to be very specific with your questions. Pendulums aren’t the best tool for general energy readings or open-ended advice. However, that specificity makes them great for validating your gut feelings, interpreting your dreams, identifying a deity or spirit that you think may be reaching out to you, or any other situation that requires a little clarification.

Why don't you ever include Bella in your Cullen headcanons? I'd love to hear what her speech pattern is, especially among the Forks crowd.
This is for a longer post sometime, but I tend to forget about Bella because I find her fundamentally uninteresting as a protagonist. Even though she narrates the series, the story, with a handful of exceptions, is a story about what happens to her, not her making choices and what consequences those choices have. I was drawn to Carlisle, not Bella, from my very first reading of the saga because he's the person making a lot of choices in this story and in the backstory, many of which have major consequences for the other characters, and many of which are not good choices on the surface. I find those sorts of character problems much more compelling. Edward is also pretty interesting in that regard, and then if I had to line up a third POV, it'd be Aro. No surprises that I've written extensively from all three of those perspectives. My current WIP is actually first person Bella POV but she's older and she's changed a lot from the girl Edward smelled in Forks in 2005. That is an interesting Bella to inhabit; canon Bella, not so much for me.
I also usually am deep in Carlisle's perspective, and he really doesn't care that much about her either, except inasmuch as she is intertwined with Edward. His concern for Bella in canon is usually concern for Edward, and when Edward isn't on the line Bella's well-being is not really on his mind aside from the abstract "We shouldn't kill a human on purpose." So I've trained my mind to leave her out of it because he would leave her out of it.
So yeah, I usually don't think of her when I think of "The Cullens." Totally fair criticism.
As it happens I thought about including her in the dialect post and left her out for somewhat of the same reason—it's just not that interesting. The shifting part might be kind of interesting for her. But her dialect background...she was born in 1987, raised in California, moved to Phoenix. Which means she basically sounds very "generic white woman" right now.
Right now she's 33, turning 34 this fall. Peak millennial. So she sounds like most other millennial woman. Turn on NPR and listen to some of the younger hosts like Stacey Vanek Smith and you're hearing Bella Swan. There's a very wild thing happening in California right now called the California Vowel Shift. It's the second biggest sound change happening in the country, behind the Northern Cities Vowel Shift (the dialect affecting Rosalie and Edward). You can get a super exaggerated form of it on SNL. It consists of some movements we notice, like the vowel in dude being further forward so that it is more like dyood (think of a stereotypical surfer pronunciation).
Bella would have picked up the CVS as a child, and then, because the CVS is heavily present in Arizona as well, probably never dropped it. The CVS is very present in Washington, also, especially among white Washingtonians--we'd expect to see it among Bella's friend crew in high school, who we have no reason to believe are nonwhite from the books. (Those casting choices have always bothered me--they make Forks seem hip and diverse when it's a real place which is absolutely not and in so doing allow the fandom to sidestep a lot of the latent racism in the source.)
What's more interesting than her sounds, though, are her words. Bella should have a very different vocabulary than Edward. As it happens, that's not how she's written. She has a very archaic vocabulary that we could find an in-universe explanation for in that she's always got her nose in a classic book, or an out of universe explanation which is that SM was not very good at the kind of research that helps you think about the level of nuance between something like frightens vs. scares. She also has a few weird verbal tics that I'm not sure are her verbal tics as much as they are SM's: Mormons are famous for not swearing even a little, and so I suspect that SM wrote Bella with pseudo-swears which have their roots in Mormon culture like "Holy crow" purely by accident and then they seemed like cute things that could be part of the character. But let's go ahead and assume she has them because they're on the page.
She likes reading Victorian and Edwardian literature. Edward was, unsurprisingly, born in the Edwardian era. So the language patterns she's picked up from her books, if we're to take the in-universe explanation, are...Edward's.
So there's not a lot of shifting she has to do. She doesn't swear a lot, unlike her age cohort. Her sound patterns match the ones the Cullens are using publicly at the time she meets them. And her bigger language structure comes from the books she read, which are the same kind of language her beloved husband uses.
They're in step from day one, basically. And once she's turned, she possesses the ability to slide right into other accents as needed.
Every now and then, she runs up against one of Carlisle's super archaic forms though, and chaos ensues.

Note
you talked about Sarley and I have no idea if I already asked this before buttttt
Tell me some of your Sarley headcanons I NEED TO KNOW
Tumblr media
Omggg I think I told you all the headcanons I have 😂 I’m not good at thinking of a bunch of different stuff like you are!
Tumblr media
Okay well not so much a headcanon for starters but Marley and Sam have so much in common! I feel like their beliefs, their lifestyles, their habits, their tastes would all match up perfectly. But not in like a weird twinsies kind of way lol. Just in a nice and easy friendship to romance type way
I mean like Sam was the only guy who didn’t need a grace period to like “warm up” to Kurt or anything. He met him and immediately accepted him for who he was, while a lot of other club members couldn’t say that. Same with Marley and Unique. They decided to have each other’s backs from the beginning (I also hc Sam and Marley both as not straight :P)
So besides Unique, I think Sam would be the easiest person for Marley to warm up to. Like the other girls are older and have been there longer, and she’s kind of a little intimidated by them even if she won’t admit it. And she doesn’t like Kitty at first. And Artie and Blaine are the other senior members and Jake is like the mysterious bad boy. But Sam is chill, he’s sweet, friendly, nice, and welcoming. And cute to boot so of course she takes notice and is drawn to him
And of course they’ve been in similar living situations before so they understand one another that way. I just think there’s so many possibilities there. I mean even just the two of them going thrifting together. Finding worn but good clothing together. And I hc Marley as knowing how to sew/knit/crochet and being super crafty and stuff so like if they find clothes that are a little worse for wear, she can fix them up and have them looking good as new. And maybe Sam goes with her to the craft store to help her pick out fabric to make dresses and skirts with. And she knits him a sweater that she literally started working on in August and finishes in time to give it to him for Christmas
Quick side note, but did we ever hear about Sam’s family moving back to Ohio? Or are we supposed to believe he was living with the Hudson-Hummels all of s4-5?? Well if so then I just imagine Sam inviting everyone over to the Hudmel house. And you know Carole and Burt want to adopt everyone. And maybe Marley, Kitty, and Tina are there the most. And that’s why they danced with Kurt during his song for Burt in Wonderful
But if Sam’s actual family is around then they would spend a lot of time babysitting his siblings. And Stacey and Stevie would both love Marley so much. Whenever Marley had leftover fabric from her own dresses, she would make a matching little dress for Stacey. Or make a little stuffed animal for Stevie. And they would always have singalongs together while Sam played his guitar. And they’d be the best at playing pretend and telling bedtime stories, always keeping the kids entertained.
Also for a more serious one, Marley and Sam both have problems with their body image. Sam knows what it feels like to try and force yourself to look a certain way, even when it’s taking a toll on his mental health. He would be there to support Marley after things got so bad that she fainted. And then he’d always have extra snacks in his bag for her after that. And he’d always keep an eye on her at lunch, making sure she was really eating and not just pretending. And she would think it was annoying but also be grateful for the concern
And I hate the whole Jarley cheating plotline but if Sarley were just friends first and Jarley happened like in canon, then Sam would be there to console her after they broke up. Bc he’d been cheated on by Quinn and he knew how awful it felt, so he would help her get through that. Also bc I really don’t like Marley and Ryder together, why couldn’t it have just been Sam?? 😭
Also for the future, I could be on board with Sam being a teacher, but maybe just a nice little school in New York?? So they could be closer with everyone else. He could start up an arts program for underprivileged kids to make sure they get the same exposure to music and opportunities that they might not be afforded otherwise. And I love the idea of Marley being kind of like a mystery singer/songwriter?? She helps Klaine with a lot of the original music for the shows they write, and even has several writing and singing credits on some of Mercedes’s albums. And tons of people know her name and voice but it’s not like she’s selling out arena shows and performing giant concerts or anything
Anyway some of this is stuff I already mentioned but some of it is just off the cuff lol. Hope you like it!

Tumblr media
Nominated by @wingedcatninja
Static (series) by @peridottea91
peridottea91 is going to single-handedly convert me to like series. I just re-read this gem and had to share it. In another life, she could have been a writer on the show, she’s so good at getting the characterization right for our boys. This OC, too, is an intiguing, layered personality that adds an extra dimension of mystery. And the whole story is perfectly woven in with canon. Two thumbs up. A must read.
Wish (oneshot) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
It’s just a drabble, but it made me feel so many things in so few words. I don’t even know what to say about it, other than it’s brilliant and if you love Dean Winchester, you have to read it.
Bad Medicine (oneshot) by @deanwandamons
This was lovely, and hot, and it made me giggle.
Nominated by @risingphoenix761
Because You’re Worth It (oneshot) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
I love a good crack fic, and I love some good Samwena content, so this is right up my alley. And a great mix of funny and fluffy!
Kings Don’t Kneel (oneshot) by @slytherkins
Few things in fic give me as much joy as Tara writing Crowley, and she hits all my favorite spots in under a thousand words. Struggling with emotion is hard enough for an unfeeling demon, but grief and loss–and the pain of knowing those emotions are unacknowledged–are enough to bring anyone to their knees. Beautiful and succinct, and all the angst!
Nominated by @peridottea91
Heaven (oneshot) by @evansrogerskitten
This fic is so beautifully written and just really captures Dean’s personality while still smacking you in the face with the most amazing “and then I saw her” moment!! Best still my heart!!! And the whole SamxEileen subplot!! The whole fic is just *chef’s kiss*
Nominated by @impala-dreamer
The Sun (oneshot) by @crashdevlin
It’s just amazingly beautiful. Short, sweet, and full of wonderful emotion. I loved every single word.
Nominated by anonymous
Dive In With Me (oneshot) by @sp-oops
This was a gorgeous, genuine account of the reader and Sam finally, FINALLY crossing that hurtle.
Coming Home (oneshot) by @there-must-be-a-lock
Lou builds us a story with such detail and precise ache that we forget to breathe. She teaches Dean, repeatedly, that he deserves to be happy.
Shackled (series) by @itmighthavebeenintentional
Val started her Demon!Dean x OFC series like a building storm. Miriam Bard is a fellow hunter, another older sibling with more internal demons than she cares to name. Sam calls her in on an old favor. Before long she doesn’t know if anything is real or who she can trust. Dark fic, so good!
Shattered Breaths (oneshot) by @dontshootmespence
Nicole dove deep for this kink bingo fill, and it is well worth every word. See how the Omega reader learns to trust the Winchesters and just what it takes for them to give up protecting themselves and lean into possibility.
Nominated by @the-girl-who-runs-with-winchesters
Devil May Care (oneshot) by @becs-bunker
This was such an interesting plot idea and amazing storytelling. Not that I had expected anything less from this talented author, of course.
Rough Ride (oneshot) by @luci-in-trenchcoats
A fun quick and very heated oneshot that made me smile at the end :)
All About Lovin’ You (oneshot) by @deanwanddamons
You know me, I can never let a month pass without diving into some angst, nor can I resist praising a fellow guppy for their amazing work. And this one’s got both! I got sucked in right from the start. It goes from heartbreaking to heartwarming, and from hot right back to sweet.
It’s About Time (oneshot) by @sorenmarie87
I randomly came across this one and it made me smile so much. Probably one of the most inventive ways to play matchmaker that I’ve heard so far.
Nominated by @dontshootmespence
For Better or For Worst (series) by @stusbunker
She does intrigue like no one else and doesn’t get the love she deserves!
Marked (series) by @there-must-be-a-lock
This is so fucking vivid it's ridiculous. There's smut, there's angst, there's sweetness and it's all maddeningly good.
Nominated by @negans-lucille-tblr
Desire (onsehot) by @princessmisery666
This fic is the very definition of smangst and I loved every second of it. The fact Stacey claims she can’t write smut baffles me when I read this fic 😍
Dirty Little Secret (series) by @pink1031
Whenever I’m asked what my all time favourite fic is it’s this one. I didn’t read rpf before this but it pulled me in and I’m so glad it did! It was just incredible and gave me my obsession with the idea of dating J2.
Nominated by @lovetusk
Me Likey & We are real (oneshots) by @impala-dreamer
They were both fantastic and on point. Drunk Dean is a rare and beautiful sight, and there’s nothing I love more than comforting a down and out Sammy. Well done.
Nominated by @impalaimagining
Currently Thinking About Jensen... (oneshot) by @negans-lucille-tblr
This is such a short and effective little piece of smut. The way it teeters on the edge of absolutely and filthily inappropriate puts it on a whole new level of dirty. I am a huge fan of last-line punches to the face no matter what the genre is, and that’s exactly what this is. It leaves you begging for more in the most desperate way. It’s a quick read but it gets the job done.
Midnight Confessions (oneshot) by @katymacsupernatural
I love the way this fic has the reader second guessing herself even though she has no recollection of doing anything to upset the guys. I’m always here for an appearance from Sam to push his stubborn brother and their bunkmate in the right direction. Admittedly, I am a sleep-talker, and I’ve said my fair share of embarrassing things (including yelling at my husband about wanting a grilled cheese at 3am), but if I could just once have something I said in my sleep get me a kiss from Dean Winchester? Hell yes.
Nominated by @deanwinchesterswitch
Coming Home (oneshot) by @there-must-be-a-lock
This is a beautiful heart wrenching story showcasing Dean’s desire for love and need affection and how few times he actually receives it. Denying himself of what he needs, until he doesn’t.
Unspoken (oneshot) by @deanscherrypie
A wonderful little drabble about how Dean lets you know he loves you without saying anything at all. Such a beautiful line… “All his broken pieces matched yours with mosaic complexity, and somehow you found a new kind of home within each other.”
Don’t Need An Excuse (oneshot) by @amanda-teaches
A beautifully crafted story from Dean’s POV about his girl and the tender loving moments in time that couples share. And, damn that ending, my poor heart.
Nominated by @there-must-be-a-lock
Anything And Everything (oneshot) by @rockhoochie
This fic honestly just took my breath away. You can feel the longing and wistfulness, and the writing is superb. There’s so much depth and detail here, it feels real and vibrant and lived-in, in a way that very few fics do. AND I love she writes Dean’s POV.
He Is, Therefore I am (oneshot) by @stusbunker
All I can say about this one is BROTHERS BEING BROTHERS. It's totally stream-of-consciousness, and it really does feel like you're in their heads.
Leaving Heaven (series) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
Such a badass, snarky narrator with a distinctive voice, and her Demon Dean is dark and awful and sexy as hell, and there's so much depth and nuance in their interactions.
Golden Hour (oneshot) by @fangirlxwritesx67
It's straight-up wish fulfillment, fluffy comforting goodness, and I think everybody needs a little bit of that in their lives right now.
Nominated by @princessmisery666
The Question (oneshot) by @girl-next-door-writes
Death by fluff and it was so worth it !! This was perfect, of course Sam has some grand plan to propose and of course it doesn’t go to plan but ended up perfect anyway!! Was fun and sweet, loved it!!
Carry On (oneshot) by @kittenofdoomage
I love Rhi. I swear everything she writes, even AU’s, could be canon!! Characterizations are always on point, stories are engaging and make me feel something every time. This one is no exception. If I could I would send it to the writers to show them this is how the show should end!!
Kings Don’t Kneel (oneshot) by @slytherkins
A small drabble from Tara and as always it gave me all the feels. It could be canon, if anyone asks me I will tell them this is exactly how Crowley felt. This made me sad and I totally wanted to hug Crowley and tell him it would all be okay.
Nominated by @thoughtslikeaminefield
Cocky (oneshot) by @stusbunker
Sexy, fun, and real. I love your Dean, Stuie!
Golden Hour (oneshot) by @fangirlxwritesx67
Comforting and cozy and swoony!
Nominated by @littlehotmess26
Until The Day I Die Again (oneshot) by @fictionalabyss
Mel writes Dean x Benny amazingly and this fic is one of my favorites.
Happy Birthday, Baby (oneshot) by @fictionalabyss
This was a birthday gift to me and it was soo good. Mel did a great job.
This Isn’t One Of Mine (oneshot) by @sorenmarie87
Dawn stepped out of her comfort zone for this one and it turned out phenomenal.
Goodbye, Sweetheart (oneshot) by @sorenmarie87
This fic is heartbreaking and I absolutely love it.
Nominated by @kate-huntington
While You Sleep (oneshot) by @foreverwayward
A heartwarming little fic about Dean living the domesticated life we all wish for him. The writer has a very clever way of storytelling and the end might come as a surprise, only adding to the emotion it already brought along.
Findings (seires) by @kathaswings
This is one of my favorite series out there and I revisited it recently. The overall story arc is a mystery I just had to unravel and I couldn’t put it down if I wanted to. The bond between Dean and Mackenzie is so precious. Writing a child isn’t easy. I’ve read plenty of books and seen plenty of films in which the maturity that was added wasn’t natural, but this author handles the Mac’s dialogue amazingly well. What’s also interesting is the jumps from point of view between Dean and Y/N, giving very personal perspectives on the gripping story.
Heartbeats (oneshot) by @there-must-be-a-lock
I’ll start by saying that I don’t ship Dean and Cas together, but I do appreciate the people who do. What this little piece of art does is incredible, however, because while I was reading, I found myself rooting for them. The writer does a great job by using the literal human heart as a backbone of this story. Intriguing and very well executed.
Everything That’s Yet To Come (oneshot) by @fictionalabyss
The author took me by the hand through this moving little one shot, which feels like a collection of greatest hits and wishes come true. It offers peace and closure not only for the older Winchester brother, but for the reader as well. Beautiful piece of writing.
Take A Drunk Girl Home (oneshot) by @amanda-teaches
Dean taking care of others; it’s his nature and shows what a kind soul he truly is. The situation sketched here is no exception, and it’s softer than one can imagine. The pace is steady and the balance between fluff and comedy is just right. A lovely read.
The Demon Inside Of You (oneshot) by @foreverwayward
Curing Dean from the demon that he has become proves to be difficult when he’s so hard to resist. What else is hard to resist, is this beautiful pitch black one shot. I don’t read Demon!Dean fiction often, because it still feels foreign to see the character that I love so much turn into something so evil. This however, is so gripping and well written, that the darkness swallows up the beholder. Rough, hot, sad, narcissistic, all these ingredients packed up in one hell of a story.
Curves And Edges (oneshot) by @kittenofdoomage
This equally sweet, sexy, funny and sad story is a big shout out to all women who think they don’t meet the beauty standards and feel like they will never be good enough to get noticed. It is one thing to replace a name with Y/N and call it a reader’s insert; it’s a gift to make every person reading this feel like they are the character in this story. The author handles every woman’s insecurities with grace, making her words both relatable and soothing. Her spot on version of Dean reminds us that we are beautiful, desired and unique.
Watch Your Fcking Mouth (oneshot) by @impala-dreamer
Dean falls under a frustrating curse, and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time. I was wheezing, couldn’t breathe and died laughing. It’s astonishing how the writer can juggle comedy and sex without the two ruling each other out. An uplifting read.
Life For Rent (series) by @winchest09
Conspiracies, deceit, crime. A strong family bond, blossoming love, oh, not to mention the sex. This series is intriguing beyond imagination and certainly not just another mobster fanfiction. The writing is smart and I could tell from the first paragraph that it’s loaded with hints and foreshadowing, but I couldn’t pick them out. This triggers a curiosity like an itch I can’t quite scratch away until I finish reading this story. And so I wait eagerly and drop everything the second a new chapter comes out. An absolute must read!
When You Least Expect It (series) by @coffee-obsessed-writer
Talking about an epic love story, but it’s so much more than that. The music that plays such an important factor, the setting that is Seaside. The fabulous supporting characters Bri, Rob, Jason and Jared, the wardrobe, not to mention the wonderful little gems and details that this author weaved into the story, showing how much love she has put into it. This is without a shadow of a doubt my favorite RPF I’ve come across.
Nominated by @girl-with-a-fandom-fettish
The Unexpected (oneshot) by @impalaimagining
The desperation and neediness between characters is just…I can almost feel through the screen. And the gif at the top of the post is the closest thing to porn Tumblr allows now is HOT.
Criminal Love (series) by @kalesrebellion
This mob fic has a lot of things going for it: mob!Dean, big brother Benny (which I didn’t know I needed in my life, but apparently I do), mystery, and a unique way of incorporating a lot of familiar faces from the SPN world. It’s 6 chapters in and I am DYING to see what happens next because the last chapter left me shook!
Unplanned Parenthood (oneshot) by @erins-culinary-service
This fic makes me long for more canon dad!Dean because he’s just so good at it and it feels like it would fit in so well. The author nailed the family vibes and I love that she found a way to make it canon plausible (something I just can’t seem to grasp in my own writing); well done, doll.
Changes (series) by @katehuntington
This fic is super unique as it is like a series rewrite, but rather than using “Pilot, Wendigo, Dead in the Water” etc., Kate is writing her own episodes! Episode 1 just wrapped up, with my personal favorite being part 10 because the characterization of both Winchester brothers felt so spot on to me. Zoe, the amazing OFC and star of this fic, might be the coolest person ever and I wish she was my best friend. Heads up though, this is not your CW Supernatural; it’s darker, dirtier, and probably a lot closer to what the Winchesters’ lives are actually like.

The Man on the Side of the Road (seires) by @supernatural-jackles
This is a seriously awesome Dean AU fic! Both Dean and the reader have so much baggage, but they’re working together to fix each other and it’s just BEAUTIFUL. It’s a series, and I can’t wait to see how it ends!!!
Nominated by @emoryhemsworth
Never Alone Again (oneshot) by @dissect-me
This author was kind enough to take the time to write about a recent trauma I discovered happened to me as a child and how Dean would react/comfort me. It’s powerful and really helped me. ❤️

Laissez Les Bons Temp Rouler (oneshot) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
M is the kind of author that is the reason you have the “four recs per author” rule because otherwise I would just be submitting her entire masterlist every month. For a talent like MJ, all it takes is a photo to spark an entire story. This photo of Jensen was particularly inspiring, and MJ did it justice. Hot, drunk, sexy, just UGH.
Where Is My Shiny Gun (oneshot) by thoughtslikeaminefield
Do you love Dean? Do you love Donna? Do you love Sam? Does your mouth water and your knees go weak just a little thinking about all 3 of them together? Do you need some generous, consensual, sunshiney, smutty love? Then check this out.
Leaving Heaven (series) by thoughtslikeaminefield
Demon Dean meets his match in the most compelling OFC I’ve ever read, bounty hunter Tazi. Where to start with this series? MJ works some of her best magic yet, seamlessly weaving the story into the show we know so well. Her Dean is brilliant, as always, every supporting character spot on. The action is tight, the murder wrenching, the sex smoking. And as good as it is, as perfect as Dean and Sam are, as impatient I am for every chapter .. I would read it all just for Tazi. Tazi is an OFC worthy of novelization: tough, sarcastic, sexy, and fully realized. She’s so beautiful and broken that you can’t help falling in love with her as you read. If I could ask everyone to read just one SPN FF ever, it would be this one.
Three Bad Ideas (series) by @there-must-be-a-lock
She’s just getting started on her Everything prequels but, by every indicator they will be JUST as filthy as the original, with even more emotional depth and character development. Frankly it’s HOT and heartbreaking and her voice for Jared is so, so good, and so is Jensen, and I’m just all over this love story. I screamed at her when she published, that if I didn’t know what came next, I would be HEARATBROKENED (that’s how excited I got, that I forgot how to speak.)
Ocean Eyes (oneshot) by @there-must-be-a-lock
The ocean is my Happy Place and I’m a sucker for Sam so this fic just hit all my sweet spots. A lot of us are looking for comfort fics right now and this is uniquely heartwarming.
Shackled (series) by @itmighthavebeenintentional
I KNOW this was nominated last month but there are more chapters and it just keeps getting better! For every question that the story answers, it asks two more. Also, it’s started getting smutty and whoooooooo boy.
Anything And Everything (oneshot) by @rockhoochie
I don’t even remember why this lovely lady was asking for prompts but I sent one that I think was, listening to records, first kiss. I had long since forgotten when she dropped this 8K word MASTERPIECE on all of us.
It’s such a sweet in-character Dean, but a relaxed side of Dean that he deserves and we don’t really get to see. It’s soft and sensual and just… you can feel it while you read.
Nominated by @manawhaat
Sex Ed (oneshot) by @cleighwrites
This is a type of wincest I’m not sure I’ve experienced before, but I can say without a doubt that I fucking love it! It’s your classic little brother Sammy looking up to Dean. It’s the show. It’s their relationship to a T, but with that little bit of helplessness that makes Sam feel like such a fucking kid! I don’t even know if my normal wincest loving self would call this actual Wincest, but wherever it falls on the radar, it’s wonderful!
Passion (oneshot) by @bohowitch
This is poetry in motion, just like Sam is. This is a beautiful, firery, perfect ode to all that is Sam Winchester!
Neptune Rising (oneshot) by @atc74
This is such a clever and refreshing AU! I don’t think I’ve ever read one like this and both characters are nuanced in such believable ways. It’s not too long, so you should definitely take a sec to check it out!
Shackled (series) by @itmighthavebeenintentional
What can I say about this series other than HOLY FUCK!! It’s got twists and turns and secrets and guilt and worry and drama and excitement and passion and fucking everything you want in a good, juicy, keep you on the edge of your seat kind of story!
There’s a feral brutality to the way she portrays Demon!Dean in this that is actually scary and makes me nervous in real life. I find myself looking around the room when I read this, pulling my feet in from off the side of the couch as if this version of Deanmon is gonna snatch me up if I’m not careful. It’s intense and SO. DAMN. COMPELLING. And it’s not even a fucking reader insert. I find myself worrying about Miriam (the ofc) at random parts of the day long after I’ve finished reading the latest chapters...
This series is a fucking MUST READ!
Celibacy, Interrupted (oneshot) by @thoughtslikeaminefield
Any fic with Jody x a Winchester is my jam, but this one is like, no bullshit, just fantastic interaction and sultry, perfect ‘smut’. Goddamn. This leaves me in a pile of goo not even for myself, but FOR JODY!
Let Go (oneshot) by @luci-in-trenchcoats
So bdsm seems to have been a theme in my life for the past month and I don’t know why, but this fucking fits the bill. I recently dodged a bullet with a ‘dom’ (read: a bossy guy who wanted nudes who ignored care and consent) and this fic is like, the complete opposite of what I experienced. I’ve read and done research and talked to enough people to know what real bdsm looks like and that saved me, and this fic only reinforces that proper bdsm lifestyle.
It’s gentle yet firm, and it forces you to let go of control even when you feel like you HAVE to hold onto it. That force caught me off guard when I read it, but it makes so much sense, and every aspect of this really, truly is well thought out and spot on, good, caring bdsm. If you’re interested in it, this is a great place to start your reading and research!
When 2 Is Better Than 1 (oneshot) by @wi-deangirl77
Not only is the smut fucking glorious in this, but Ketch’s gentle nature is 100% what makes this for me! I’m not used to reading him as gentle or caring and having him work with Dean in this to help the reader, not to fill his own needs, but truly coming at it from a place of care and worry, melts me into a pile of gooey feels.

Thank you all for the awesome work and great feedback!
These are not actual awards! This system is set up so everyone in the pond has a chance to share the love and promote a fic/author that has grabbed your attention. The more people that participate, and the more everyone remembers to submit their own fics after posting, the better this will be :D
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN, KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK, AND AS ALWAYS, HAPPY WRITING!

Synopsis: Y/N has to shoot a sex scene, George isn’t happy about it.
Word count: 2, 349
Warnings: Pure bloody filth, Porn with a plot, anal-ish content.
“Cut,” Jordan yelled from across the sound stage, Henry instantly moved off my body and stood up, an assistant promptly brought over a gown for both Henry and me to cover ourselves as Jordan and the producers reviewed the footage to see if they’d gotten everything they needed.
“How did that feel to you?” Henry asked as he sat across from me on the sturdy bed that’d been brought in for this particular purpose. I nodded my head, tying the gown securely around my waist. “I think it’s the best take we’ve gotten.”
“I agree, I think the way you changed your entrance worked in our favour,” I looked behind him to where Jordan and the producers were scrutinising what they watched. “But, I don’t think they’re happy with it.” Henry looked over his shoulder, he sighed and turned back to me.
“At least we’re comfortable now,” I snorted out a laugh nodding my head. “I meant it, should be much easier to go down on you now.” He winked.
“Hey now, none of that,” I rolled my eyes, “But you’re right, acting like I’m blowing you should be easier now,”
“You think they’re gonna make us go again?”
“Probably not today, A lot of the crew’s already running on empty, and overtime.”
“You’re right,” Henry let out a hiss of air. “If they’re not happy with what they got, they’ll probably change tomorrow’s schedule, or tack it onto the end of filming.”
“Unless we nailed it?”
“Unless we nailed it,” Henry confirmed. “Here comes Stacey.” Henry and I watched as Stacey, the first A.D nodded as Jordan spoke into her ear, before she walked towards us. Her hands fiddled as she stepped.
“Hey you two,” She smiled shyly as she approached. “How you feelin’, it all looked great.”
“Cut the crap Stacey, are we going again or not?” Stacey’s face dropped as Henry raised an eyebrow at her.
“You are, but not today… Jordan and the producers have some notes, but I’ll email them through tonight, we’re going to reschedule tomorrow’s shooting schedule so we can do this first thing.” Henry stood clapping his hands.
“So that’s us for the day?” She nodded.
“All done,” Henry turned to look at me, nodding over his shoulder.
“Ready to go?”
“Yeah,” Henry and I walked past Jordan and the producers waving goodbye and well wishes for the rest of the night, with the promises of nailing the scene tomorrow.
“See you tomorrow?” I asked Henry as my driver approached us, “We’ll do a better job, I’m sure of it.” I rubbed Henry’s arm in farewell before I got into the car. “See you in the A.M.” I waved out the window.
-_-_-_ -_-_-
I pushed open the door to my AIR BnB house I’d rented for the duration of the shoot, unlike most of the cast, I’d opted to rent a cottage house for the four months we were on set… there's only so long the charm of hotels can last before they wear off, and since I’d rented it, it meant that George dropping in at random wasn’t a problem. Except for tonight, tonight having George there was a problem. Ever since he saw the run sheet of today’s filming schedule he’d been in a bad mood, knowing today I’d be losing my sex scene virginity with none other than his idol Henry Cavill.
“I’m home,” I called out walking towards the living room where I heard the low hum of the TV. I stopped at the doorway, watching George sit with his hands in his lap, eyes focused on the TV, mind elsewhere. “Hey, you,”
“How was it?” He didn’t look away from the TV.
“Day went fine,”
“You know that’s not what I meant.”
“What do you want me to say?”
“How about the fucking truth, Y/N.” He boomed as he stood up, turning to glare at me. “How was it huh?” He hissed. “Fucking Henry Cavill?”
“You know that’s not how it goes George.”
“Do I?” He chuckled in disgust. “Because, the last time I check any woman who had a sex scene with Henry Cavill, has ended up fucking him.”
“You expect that from me?” He didn’t speak. “Fuck you George, you arrogant fucking prick.” I spat, turning on my heel storming to the kitchen.
“No, come on now Y/N… tell me how it was,” George followed me as I poured a glass of red wine. “Did you enjoy it?”
“What's not to enjoy.” I picked up my glass. “Having thirty men around me watching as I simulate sex.”
“So you’re telling me you didn’t get turned on?” George rolled his eyes. “You’re telling me you didn’t get wet? Your pussy didn’t drip.” I set my glass on the island.
“You want to hear that?”
“Yes,”
“Fine,” I walked around the island towards him. “Henry between my thighs made my pussy drip.” I breathed. “Made me so wet his head down there, kissing the inside of my thighs.” I stopped walking in front of him. “I’ll never forget the look of Henry fucking Cavill between —,” My words were lost against George’s lips, his hands pulling my hair, holding me in place as his mouth worked ministrations against mine. The pleasure I was feeling from George pulling my hair was something completely different to what I’d felt before.
“Tell me now,” He growled pulling away, his hand pulling the tiniest bit harder against my hair. “Tell me how fucking good it was to have him between your legs.”
“It was so fucking good.” I moaned, eyes closing as his lips slipped down from my lips to my jaw. “He would make me feel so fucking good.” My hands grabbed at his t-shirt, pulling the thin fabric into my clenched fists.
“You’re going to regret that, love.” His teeth nipped at my jaw.
“Doubt it.” I gasped as his hands left my hair and ripped my shirt open.
“Turn around.” He commanded, using my shoulders to spin me, hands splayed on the island bench. “Think you’re enjoying this too much.” He bit out as he unbuttoned my jeans, pulling them down my legs. “Enjoy teasing me, driving me insane all day.” He pulled at my hips, pushing the underwear off and leaving them to hang off my ankles. “Up on the counter.” He helped me climb up, pushing me into the position he wanted me. “Look like dessert.” I heard him mutter as his fingers touched me, they played with my slit, pushing inside me for a moment before he pulled away. “Don’t want to hear a whimper.” He hissed, hand coming down on my ass. “Don’t move.” I nodded my head, my mind hyper-alert as his fingers tickled the back of my thigh. I bit down on my lip as his tongue touched me, running from the back of my knee up to my thigh before slipping between my folds, licking over my clit.
“George.” A hand came down on my ass and the tongue left me.
“Speak again, and you’ll be getting spanked for punishment.” I nodded my head, wanting, needing him to put his mouth back on me. “Should keep you here all night, let you think about how much Henry can’t make you feel like this.” I dropped my head into my arms, unable to keep my head up. I felt his tongue back on me, his hands pulling my ass apart.
George was going at it, he’d never eaten me out like this beforehand here I was pussy dripping down my legs with his head buried in between.
Heaven.
“Want this,” A growl left his lips, and before I knew what was happening his finger was running around my hole. “Never been in here, have I love?” I shook my head, wanting nothing more than to feel him inside there, where no one else has been. “You want it to don’t you?” His finger dipped in. “Don’t try and deny it, I can see it dripping down your leg.” His finger stayed inside my asshole, pushing in and out gently. I felt his breath against my legs as his finger slips out. “Looks fucking delicious.” I thought he was talking about my pussy, and the drips that leaked down my legs, he wasn’t. His tongue moved in and out of my hole, his fingers playing with my pussy. I let out a low guttural moan "Don't move. You do what I tell you to," He pulled his lips off, hand landing harshly on my arse. “Do you understand?” Spank, I nodded, unable to comprehend anything but the feeling of his tongue, working me. “Get up.” George moved away, pulling me off the bench, pushing me down. “Suck.” He pushed his cock into my mouth, holding my head, using me as his own personal fuck toy. “Fucking beautiful mouth,” He held himself inside me, deep throating him, I gaged on his cock, only causing him to moan louder and push deeper. “Think Cavill can make you feel like this?”
“No sir,” I gasped as he pulled his cock out. “Only you, sir,” George smirked, his hand going down to my throat, his eyes locking on mine as his hand gently squeezed around my throat right as he thrust his cock inside again.
“What I thought,” He squeezed again. “Fucking love it don’t you.” I nodded, moaning around his cock.
I slipped my hand down between my legs, letting it linger on my clit for a second, unable to pass up the chance to give myself pleasure. I look up at George as I slide my finger down past my lips and into my pussy, moving it in and out to match George’s thrusts.
“You want it don’t you?”
“Please…please…please….oh, oh, please, please fuck me, please, please…oh, please, I need you to fuck me, I…ohhhh…” It’s shameless, the reaction he can draw from me. I need to be fucked, and I need him to fuck me. “Want it.” George pulls me up, sitting my ass on the edge of a seat, pulling me towards him.
“Say it.”
“Please fuck me.”
“Not that,” He smirked, cock tracing over my clit.
“Never Henry,” I pleaded. “He could never.” I nearly sobbed, needing him to fill me. George smirked, as he thrust his cock inside of me. The feeling of being filled so quickly and deeply made me gasp and groan, the pleasure he caused from a single thrust nearly drove me over the edge.
“What do you want?”
“Pound me,” George smirked, hands grabbing onto my shoulder, thrusting harder than before. His rhythm and pace quickened and my breathing was hard, as I tried to control myself.
George knew he was completely in control of everything, and he was taking advantage of it. When he thrusts slowed, they became harder, when he picked his pace up, they became softer. Never did he give me complete satisfaction. It was overwhelming, my body felt like it was going to fall apart at any moment. My back arched up, and my pussy began to tighten around him.
“I need to come,” I sobbed. “Please, let me come.”
“In a minute,” George grunted. “Almost there,”
“Please, please, please.” I chanted, finger attaching itself onto my clit. The tension in my body built to a crescendo as I begged to be fucked harder.
“Come for me,” As soon as he spoke I was coming, so hard, so violently, that I’m begging him to come inside me, fill me with his own. “Fuck, baby.” He grunted, I know he could feel me clenching around him, tightly, and tighter as I continued to come hard. His hands were gripping my waist, as his thrust continues. The orgasms came again in waves, starting inside of me at my G-spot and spasming into my clit.
“Need you to come for me,” I cried, unable to continue this for much longer, the pleasure becoming too much. “Fill me,” He thrust inside of me deeper and deeper. His cock throbbed as he shot cum against the walls of my pussy. I was so sensitive that I was able to feel each squirt, against my walls. George held onto me as he spasmed thrusting at random as his orgasm finished. “Fuck,” I moaned, “That was…” George pushed my hair from my eyes, trying to push it off my sweaty forehead.
“I’d like to see Cavill do that.” I laughed against his chest.
“Cavill, could never, fuck me like that,” I whispered pulling his neck down to kiss his lips. “Never in his wildest dreams.”
-_-_-_ -_-_-
“Let’s try this again,” Jordan clapped walking over to Henry and I. “Yesterday was good, but we want more… this is the climax, we need to believe it.” He looked between the two of us. “Whatever you need to do,” He looked between the two of us. “We’ll go in two... Places.”
Henry and I walked away from Jordan going to our places. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths, remembering last night with George.
How he felt against me, how he ruined any other rmen for me, even ones like Henry Cavill
“Action,” My eyes snapped open, watching as Henry strode towards me.
“What are you doing here?” I called in my character’s voice to him.
“Well, we got along so well last night.” He pulled at my hips, pushing the underwear off and leaving them to hang off my ankles. “And we had so much fun.” His fingers touched me, they played with my slit, pushing inside me for a moment before he pulled away. “So I figured why don’t we keep the party going.” His hand coming down on my ass. “We’re becoming such good friends.” I bit down on my lip as his tongue touched me, running from the back of my knee up to my thigh before slipping between my folds, licking over my clit.
“Friends don’t fuck each other,” Henry stopped right in front of me, my pussy was dripping, and it was taking everything in me not to clench my legs shut.
“We can,” He growled before his lips attacked mine.

The Firm - Chapter 12
Prologue Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11
Summary: Erik has been hired to find an embezzler for an old friend. The whole gang is back at GBI, ready to fight an old enemy and save their friend.
Pairing: Erik x Black!OC
Genre: Suspense
Bridges checks the time; it is about 4 in the afternoon. The sun is still out, so they have to make sure they set up where they will not be easily found. Green pulls the SUV into a parking lot across the street from where Gina’s warehouse is located. They are guarded by another abandoned warehouse. Kill’s phone is out, checking for any heat sources coming from the inside of the building. He nods to Green, who parks and gets out to stretch out after the drive.
Kill, Bridges, and Green walk around the SUV together. Inside the back is a trunk full of lethal goodies for their use. Kill pops the lock, showing them the inventory. Matt stays inside, looking on as they make their decisions on what to take with them. All the items are equipped for hand-to-hand combat. They already know that this fight will be up close and personal. Gina made it that way both in her intentions and her chosen location for this meeting.
Bridges is standing there, weighing a .40 caliber Glock in her hands. It has been years since she held one or even had a need to use one. She grabs a 22 round magazine to load the gun, releases the safety, and hands it over to Green. Green thanks her and holsters the gun under his arm.
The Glock 19 that Kill loaded in the car is in his tactical holster on his leg. One side of his matching vest holds two more Glocks and about 4 additional magazines. He takes a moment to once again check his phone screen before reaching for a few throwing knives and an M9 bayonet fighting knife. Bridges stops helping Green and watches as Kill gathers everything he wants, adding it to his vest or his holsters.
Green clears his throat, and Bridges hands him the other gun she loaded for him. He steps back as he has everything he needs. But he grabs a laptop from one of the other bags before getting out of her way. Bridges grabs 2 Glocks and additional magazines for herself. She puts on her tactical vest and loads her weapons.
Once everyone has all their desired weapons, they return to the front of the SUV. On the hood, Kill rolls out the warehouse floor plans that Stacey printed. He sets his phone aside as he looks things over. The screen shows 6 heat signatures surrounding Gina’s building.
“Alright, there are 3 floors, including the basement to the warehouse. Our focus needs to be on the first and lower floors because she would never be dumb enough to use the top to hold hostages.” Pointing to the entrances, he shows Bridges and Green the matching locations on his phone. The two side entrances have two people on them, while the front and back doors only have one.
“It looks like the best way to enter is through the back door since there is an elevator and stairs to the basement on that side.” Green states as he looks at the basement floor plan.
“Do you know how much security she has out here?” Bridges asks.
“Yo Matt! When you met up with her anywhere, how many men did she usually have?”
“Ummm, she always had two near her. But whenever I met her onsite like this, it was about 6 or 8 additional guys. Everyone always near an entrance or something, doubling as a clean-up crew.” Matt sits back again as they all take in what he said.
“So, let’s go with a possible 10-15 total inside and around the warehouse. We won’t be able to detect the others until we get a bit closer.” Green says.
“Not a problem. Once we clear all entrances, we can enter from any point and have enough cover to take out anyone left.” Kill responds.
“Sounds good to me.” Bridges pipes in.
“Now, we wait for it to get darker before going in.” They all jump back in the car, waiting for the sun to set.
---
It has been about an hour since LaNyah found out that every person she holds near and dear is in the crosshairs of one Miss Gina McCoy Williams. Gina left to get them food after LaNyah was settled from her panic attack. While she was gone, Laura shared how she knew who she was. So, now LaNyah knows that Matt didn’t choose her, but Gina did, and her connection to Ashley and Alex was just a bonus. But the connection to Erik was confusing to her, she just met him, but Gina made it sound like more and she didn’t know how to feel about that.
Gina came back in with her two associates, LaNyah recognized them as the guys who moved her from the other room. They had covered dishes in their hands and placed them in front of the women. “Go ahead and eat.” No one moves, “Neither one of you is good to me dead. Now please, Laura, if not for you then for the baby. And LaNyah, I know you just cried everything out. Nibble, if you must, but I promise I did not poison the food. Besides, Kimmy’s makes the best sandwiches.” LaNyah looks at her strangely. Gina waves them both to eat while uncovering her plate.
LaNyah lifts the cover to see her exact order from the last time she met Ashley at Kimmy’s Café – grilled chicken club on sourdough, fries, and fruit with a side of ranch. She groans while looking at it, since that was also the day she figured out that she had a small crush on her new boss, Erik. She was about to put the cover back on when her stomach gurgled loud enough for everyone in the room to hear. She looks over at the two men, who are tucking into their meals. Laura has pulled apart the sandwich and is picking at the inside.
Gina glances over at LaNyah. “You have been intravenously fed for the last three days. Eat up while you can. Or should I have them replace the IV for you?” LaNyah picks up a fry and dips it in the ranch. “Good girl. Thank you. I really do hate to be mean to other women.” She wipes her mouth, “When we finish eating, I will continue with my story.”
Laura scraps the plate with the fork, “You aren’t done?”
“Oh no, I need you to understand why they must be destroyed.”
LaNyah mumbles, “I don’t think that’s necessary.”
“Of course, you wouldn’t, dear.” Gina drops her napkin in her lap. “Since you both are so chatty, I guess now is as good a time as any.” Laura and LaNyah sigh in unison as Gina moves around, taking LaNyah’s old chair since they are both on the couch now.
“I would rather eat if you don’t mind.” Laura tries to pull the sandwich together and takes a big bite and smiles.
“Oh, I’m not stopping you. Enjoy your meal. It will probably be your last anyway.” Gina looks at her watch, then crosses her legs getting comfortable. “Now, where were we?” She taps her knees before clapping her hands. “Yes, Erik ‘Killer’ I mean ‘Killmonger’ Stevens. Boy, does that man have quite the reputation. He killed 5 men all by himself once while on a mission. Came out unharmed, barely a scratch on him. I mean, do you know what kind of cold-blooded killer would do something like that?”
“You said they were all military. That sounds job-related to me. Kill or be killed, right?” Laura wipes her mouth with a napkin.
“Sure, when you kill your enemies. And that time, he did. But the last time was the murder of a known associate.” Gina stands and paces the room, “He set up a shooter’s nest and gunned down my brother like he was picking off a deer. If it really were enemy fire, then someone else would have been there with him, and he would not have drowned on his own blood with no attempt at saving his life.” Her voice is increasing in volume as she shares the details, choking on a sob. “He planned it out to the last detail, even brought in help to lie for him. He left enemy guns at the scene so no one would question him or the others about what happened. They crafted the perfect story together. Him and Green.”
“How do you know all of this?”
“Why are you telling us this?” Laura is louder than LaNyah, who has stopped eating and has curled up on the couch. But Gina heard them both.
Looking towards Laura, “I have my ways. And money talks even in the military.” She waits until LaNyah cautiously glances her way, “I want you to know the truth about your beloved Erik.” LaNyah opens her mouth to talk, but Gina cuts her off, “It’s not hard to see why he would fall for someone like you. I mean opposites do attract. And it can’t get any further apart than the two of you.”
LaNyah is listening, but she is not comprehending what Gina just said. Erik doesn’t like her. She likes him, but he would never want a girl like her. She occupies a small space compared to what he has seen and experienced —and he’s done much more, all over the world, according to Gina’s rambling about his military career. A man like that goes for the Staceys of the world. A woman who knows herself and actually lives life. LaNyah’s life is too narrow for someone like that.
Her head is spinning as Gina continues talking, more for Laura at this point since she has tuned out. Her crush is not going anywhere. They work together, and that’s it. LaNyah can think or figure that mess out later. She just needs to focus on the fact that they should be coming to save her and Laura; she rolls her eyes at the thought of the woman. She hates her for something that Nyah was used for; how does that even work. I AM THE PAWN PEOPLE!
She hears a far way sound that becomes clearer when she blinks. LaNyah looks up to find Gina standing right in front of her. “What?”
“Just wanted to make sure that you are here. I can’t have you hiding in that pretty little head of yours. I need you here.”
“It’s not like I can go anywhere,” LaNyah grumbles.
“Very true.” Gina looks down at her watch again. Sending a signal to her men, who suddenly walk out of the room. “Why don’t you both go over to the beds? Get comfortable.”
“I’m fine right where I am.” Laura nods in agreement scooting closer to her and grabs LaNyah’s hands. If they are safe anywhere right now, it is next to one another.
Gina takes a seat on the chair beside the couch. “Suit yourselves. Doesn’t matter to me.” LaNyah looks at Laura, who is just as confused after watching Gina, who grabs a book from the table and starts reading.
---
Green drives the SUV behind Gina’s warehouse after getting an all-clear from Kill. He ran across a few minutes before and slit the throat of the guard on backdoor duty. Any gunshots too early would give them all away. He pulled out the laptop to see if he could pinpoint the rest of them inside the warehouse.
As they pull up, he runs over to them, “I got ‘em.” Kill announces as he jumps in. He opens the laptop, angling it for all to see, “There are 10 men total on this level – it looks like she increased the number surrounding the building, and then there are three between the stairwell and elevator.”
“That doesn’t count the men that Matt says she normally has with her.” Green counts off.
“They are probably below with her, and we won’t see that until we clear the first floor.” Kill states. Green shakes his head.
“Are we handling this like earlier? Two rush front?” Kill nods in the affirmative at Green.
“You’ll stay here with Bridges until we get everyone out.” Kill tells Matt, as he stands beside the SUV stretching out his limbs. The sky is pink and orange over the horizon, so they all stepped out, ready to make their move.
“Excuse me!” The high pitch screech comes from the other side of the vehicle.
“I didn’t stutter, Bridges.” Kill rolls his eyes as Ashley makes her way in front of him. “You are watching Matthew. End. Of. Story.”
Puffing out her chest, “Did you not just hear what I told my husband earlier?” Kill looks at the plans in his hands, rolling them up before turning to her.
“Yeah, and you are here. So, you will get to see LaNyah after we save her.” He steps up to her, forcing her to look up at him, “But you will not be joining us inside the warehouse. So, get comfy out here.”
“Seriously? I can be useful in there, Kill.” He turns away from her, focusing on the heat sensors showing up on the computer screen on the back seat. Bridges stomps away. “This is bullshit.”
“Ashley, come here. “ She walks over to her husband. “We need someone to handle shit out here. Remember, she has more men than us. You see anyone run out; you shoot they ass. No questions asked.”
Rolling her eyes, “Lookout?”
“The most important part of the job, sweets.” He tries to hug her, but she pushes him away. “Love you, too.”
Bridges roughly grabs Matt dragging him to the front driver’s seat. “Get in, sit down and shut up.” When Matt is comfortable in the seat, she cuffs his hands together, then pulls the steering wheel down, and with a chain locks his cuffs to the wheel. “He’s locked in tight.”
“Great. Make your way around to the front. Green and I have the side entrances.” He looks over at Bridges, who pulled out her gun. “On my signal,” Kill points towards the building, and they all move forward in unison spreading out to their locations.
As soon as Bridges makes it around the corner to the front of the warehouse, she immediately opens fire on the guys standing there. 3 shots, 3 bodies drop. Damn, the front was only supposed to have one, maybe 2 guys up there. She carefully walks through them, shooting each one a second time to make sure they don’t get up.
Making her way to the entrance, she notices a wide-open space with a desk in the back. Bridges hears movement headed her way. Lifting her gun, she ducks as a bullet passes to her left. She runs behind a stack of boxes, peeking out before and shooting out at the two men running towards her. One drops and the other makes it to her as she puts her foot out to trip him. She steps over him and shoots him in the head.
She walks the rest of the warehouse floor, checking for anyone else and goes back outside. The front is now clear. Bridges moves back to the edge of the building to watch for any strays who might run out.
---
Gina looks up as her two personal guards and another man enter the room. They are dragging something behind them. “We found him tied up to the side of the building, Boss.”
A piercing scream shatters the once quiet basement as Laura looks up to see Matt standing between Gina’s men.
Jumping up, she claps in excitement, “Our guests have arrived. Go ahead and sit him next to Laura.” The men drop Matt on the couch; he reaches over and holds Laura, who is crying loudly into his chest. “Now, the fun begins.”
LaNyah says nothing as she watches the two blubbering idiots next to her. All she knows is that if Matt is here, so is everyone else. Her friends, the cavalry, and they are here for her. And them, or whatever.
Gina moves to stand near LaNyah and signals her men to stand near the door. The other man radios for back up but hears nothing but static on the other end. LaNyah curls up on the couch as they listen to the barrage of gunfire above them.
---
Green has his gun out and shoots down the first guy to approach him. The other two run out of the side entrance towards him, guns blazing, and he gets nicked on the shoulder right as he hits one in both knees. He rolls along the building, killing the man on the ground and shoots the last guy standing before slipping into the side entrance door.
Kill sneaks up on the first guard near the back of the building. He once again takes out his M9 knife and brings it across his neck. Lowering his body to the ground, he continues forward to the side door. Two men with guns turn around and let off a couple of rounds. Kill throws the knife and pulls out his gun, shooting the one who is still facing him. As the other guy swings away, grabbing his shoulder, Kill walks up and shoots him through the temple.
Green leans against the wall waiting for Kill to appear on the other side directly across from him. He hears a few more pops before Kill bounds through the side entrance. They nod to the other and move forward as one heading to the back of the warehouse where the stairwell and elevator are. Kill pulls out his phone to check for the location of everyone down below. They can make out 5 shapes down below. Moving towards the stairwell, they hear some shuffling and immediately turn their guns on the person approaching them.
“What the fuck, Bridges?”
“God damnit, Ashley!” Kill and Green exclaim as she bounces into view.
“What are you doing here? And where is Matt?” Kill quickly rushes out.
“I have him locked up outside of the building. Besides, I figured you could use the help.” She explains.
“Bridges -” Kill groans.
“No Kill, I want this bitch.” Bridges cuts him off, “I’m going down there with you. Done deal.”
“Fine, take the center.” He concedes and allows her to step in front of him.
Green leads them down the stairs leading to the basement. Bridges follows, and Kill pulls up the rear. They know everyone is located in the center of the basement. Walking along the right side, they slowly approach the door leading to the massive room. In a semi-circle, the group looks at one another before Green steps forward, kicking the down the door as Kill and Bridges rush through.
All three of them are standing at the top of the room, looking down at everyone when Gina’s men move in. 3 loud bangs are heard as each one of her men hit the floor. In the same order, they make their way down the stairs. Bridges notices Matt on the couch with Laura, motioning to Green, so he knows.
Gina watches all of them before snatching LaNyah up from the couch. She holds her right in front of her as all the guns in the room turn towards her.
“Hello Everyone! It’s nice to meet you finally.” Gina cheerfully greets the trio. Matt covers Laura as he watches all of them keep their guns on Gina. “See LaNyah; I told you they would come. It was only a matter of time.”
LaNyah looks up after gaining her balance when Gina pulled her off the couch. All her friends are here, but she has never seen them like this. If looks could kill, Gina would be dead where she stands, and Nyah would be caught in the middle. All the guns were pointed at Gina, but also her since Gina is using her as a shield.
Ashley is off to the left, hair in a disheveled bun with specks of blood splattered across her face. Mr. Green is standing near Laura and Matt on the right, keeping an eye on them with two guns up. Is that a hole in his arm? LaNyah shakes her head, and then there’s Erik. He is dead center watching her with that same intensity that he always does, but it just feels scarier somehow. Like a caged lion prowling the land, ready for action at the slightest movement. He also has a gun in each hand and blood all over the front pocket of his fatigues. There they are her friends, the soldiers.
“Everyone put your guns down.” Gina calmly requests, to no response. “NOW!” She yells. Still, no one budges. “Of course.” Pulling LaNyah closer to her chest, she whispers loud enough for the room to hear. “You know why he won’t shoot me, right?” LaNyah knows who she is talking about but closes her eyes, so she doesn’t have to meet his gaze. Gina shakes her, “Open your eyes! Go ahead and look at your Killer lover.”
“Leave her alone, Gina!” Kill yells out, lowering his guns. “I get it; you want us all. But I did it, so deal with me.”
“Look at him, trying to be all chivalrous. It’s only because I have you.” Gina continues to speak in her ear. “Just look at him.” LaNyah opens her eyes to see Erik lowering both of his guns to the floor, and kicking them away from him. The look on his face, what is that? LaNyah bows her head, looking away from him.
“Let her go. You can take me instead, and no one else has to die.” Kill lifts his hands in surrender.
Locking LaNyah’s arms to her side much tighter now, Gina looks at him. “Now, you want to show some compassion? Where was your sympathy when it came to my brother, huh?” Gina slowly walks back towards the table, “Fuck you, Killmonger!”
Ashley has been watching LaNyah the whole time, and when she finally catches her eyes, she makes a signal to her. As soon as Gina reaches back to grab something from the table, she shouts, “NOW NYAH!” LaNyah stomps her heel down into Gina’s foot before ducking and rolling out of the way. Bridges aims for Gina taking her down with a double-tap to the chest.
Green goes over to Matt and Laura, leading them out of the building. While Bridges and Kill watch Gina drop, they can hear her struggling to breathe. She grabs at her neck, choking on her own blood, just like her brother did nearly 20 years ago. Bridges approaches Gina and aims one last time, shooting her point-blank in the head.
LaNyah banged her head against the table, rolling away and tries to sit up as Erik rushes towards her. When he leans over with his hands out to help her up, she scoots away, backing up into the wall and bursts into tears. Ashley makes her way over, grabbing her into a hug. “I’m so sorry, sweetie.” She sits down next to her, rubbing her back and starts crying along with her.
Kill stands up and walks over to Gina’s dead body. He looks at the table to find what she was reaching for. There on the edge is a remote clicker with one button. Probably a bomb linked to the whole building. Damn, she was going to take everyone out, including herself. That was one crazy bitch. He disables the remote, leaving all the pieces on the table.
Green returns and taps Kill on the shoulder as he makes his way to Ashley and LaNyah. “Are we good, ladies?”
Ashley looks down at LaNyah, who is sniffling now, “It’s ok, LaNyah. You’re safe now. We got you.” Nyah looks up at everyone, including Kill, who stands besides Green. She nods and follows Ashley’s lead to stand. Ashley takes Green’s hand, and LaNyah just looks at Erik’s outstretched hand. Once Ashley is up, she turns back to LaNyah, who reaches for her. Ashley helps her up and holds her hand.
Erik drops his head as he pulls his hand back. Ashley watches him and smiles sadly in his direction as she and LaNyah walk out of the room. Killmonger vanished as soon as the threat was over. So, now Erik is left to feel the hurt caused by LaNyah being scared of him now. He would never hurt her, but there is no way for her to know that. And even if he would give his life for her, it wouldn’t even matter. Erik is a monster in her eyes.
Alex and Erik walk the room once more to check for any other surprises before leaving out of the warehouse.
---
All is quiet as the group heads towards the SUV. Alex and Erik stand back as they watch both the women they care about get inside the vehicle, safe and sound. Before Erik walks around to the passenger side, Alex pulls him aside.
“Stevens, thank you.” Erik shrugs him off, “I don’t just mean for today.” Erik stops at that. “For everything. For Ashley. Being brave enough to handle McCoy and not letting the military give him a slap on the wrist for what he did. And LaNyah, too. You are the best protector that she could ask for, even if she doesn’t know it.”
Erik looks at him before opening the door to the SUV. “And she probably never will.” Looking inside, he sees Matt and Laura curled up on the 2nd row while LaNyah and Ashley are in the back on the 3rd row. He can hear hushed whispers coming from them. She still wants to be as far away from him as possible. Erik shakes his head and leans back in the seat, closing his eyes. It’s going to be a long ride back to Orange County.

"It's All Her Fault!"
Double Episode Special
Thursday 25th February - Friday 26th February 2021
Hello everyone! I apologise for this post being so late, I've been away from my computer since Friday and I've not had a chance to watch EastEnders at all. I realise I'm a few episodes behind, but in this blog post, I've decided to review both Thursday's and Friday's episodes together, that way through-out the week I can catch up and be up to date with you all. I do however have to say that this week, I will possibly be missing out Thursday and Friday again as I have some personal time away from my computer. I want thank you all though for being incredibly patient with me and allowing me to write up my blog as and when I can. You're all amazing people and I can't thank you enough for the on-going support.
There is SO much to cover, so let's discuss a few things, the first thing I'm going to focus on is Ben, Phil and this new business deal that's supposed to be going on. I have to be honest though, this storyline I'm finding a little bit confusing. Maybe because I've been away for a few days, but what was the whole business agreement/plan that Ben, Phil and this new character were involved in in the first place? All we know for sure really is that this new character, who I still can't recall the name of, "Stas" or "Stan", has been a loyal customer/client of the Mitchells for years and now he's taking his business elsewhere, to Kheerat. Of course this is going to upset and annoy the Mitchells, but after a lot of confrontation between Ben and Kheerat about nicking potential business plans/propositions, it looks as if it all comes down to money at the end of the day. Who is this new character? We really don't know much about him at all, and to be honest, I'm getting sick of seeing his face ... he doesn't speak clearly and I can't quite understand what's going on when he's onscreen! Thursday's episode shows Kheerat celebrating his new business prospects, and of course Ben kicks off as he feels that Kheerat is flaunting his celebrations right in front of them, nicking their clientele.
However, the following day, it looks that maybe Kheerat has got himself in a bit too deep as "Stas"/"Stan" demands more money that was originally agreed. Vinny notices that his brother appears to be doing some kind of business and might have been in the foresight of the Mitchells. He warns his brother to be careful and whether they should include their Mother, Suki, for help. But Kheerat is adamant that he was to do the business his way and will only inform Suki when he's ready. Has Kheerat taken on a bit too much? Meanwhile Ben seems to be seething that Kheerat is laughing at his family, mainly himself and Phil. But Phil informs his son that they should do absolutely nothing. Instead of getting worked up about lost business and money, he suggests that they should just lay back and watch from the side-lines and watch things go to pot! As that way, if things do turn out wrong, it won't be their problem, it'll be Kheerat's. As much as that appeals to Ben, watching things crash and burn would be some form of entertainment for him, he seems to ignore his Dad and approaches Kheerat whilst he's sat in Ruby's club. Interestingly, he seems to warn to Kheerat about the clientele he's working with, informing him to be on his guard and proposes that if ever he needs help in anything, he's willing to step up. Ben is clearly trying to worm his way in to be involved, just once I wish he'd listen to his Dad's advice and leave things be.
--
Whilst on the subject of the Mitchell's, who else has Phil been involved with lately? Kat! And after overhearing him bad-mouth her and humiliate her to Ben after their romp, she took it things into her own hands. Initially, she is the one who kind of caused the Mitchell's to lose their business proposition as she went blabbing, which turns out why Stas/Stan took his business to Kheerat instead. During this whole section of Ben trying to figure out who blabbed, Kat has been lying low, but her family are starting to notice that someone or something has seemed to upset her. Stacey mentions that if it happens to be a bloke who has let her down, then he's not worth it. Eventually Kat takes it upon herself to give Phil a visit, informing him that she's not someone to be messed around with, also dropping the bombshell that she was the one to blabbed, I think it's this point that Phil realises he has met his match in Kat, after their little fling, Kat announces that things are over between them. Only later on, it looks as if Phil realises that Kat is right and he shouldn't have bad-mouthed her the way he did, he decides to pop over to her and, in not so many words, apologise. Maybe things between Kat and Phil could get serious? Who knows, I think they'd made a very big power couple!
--
The next thing I have focus on is Isaac. So it's now been revealed that the illness that Isaac is suffering from is Schizophrenia. Now I've had to do a little bit of research for this as I'm not 100% sure what that entails. I think this is the first time that EastEnders have brought up the subject of Schizophrenia. For those of you unsure, Schizophrenia is a mental illness which affects how people think and how they understand the world around them. The symptoms brought on could be things such as hallucinations or delusions to an extent that they can't tell what's fantasy and reality.
But now we know what Isaac is having to deal with in his personal life, it all makes complete sense as to why Sheree has been acting so protective of her son. Of course, at this moment in time, only Isaac and herself are aware about his diagnosis. I'm intrigued to see how the rest of the family are going to react once they find out the truth, Patrick, Denise and Kim. One thing I hope, is that Isaac isn't seen as a freak or anything, I don't mean that in a harsh way, but people might begin to think they he hears voices or something? I don't know, we'll have to wait and see. But poor Lola has also been left in the dark, for now. Sheree has warned her to stay away from her son, of course she means well where he son is concerned, but she didn't really go the right way about it. Isaac is left furious at his Mum when he learns that she was the one who warned Lola to stay away, but Isaac truly feels that he's ready to move on and have a relationship.
After learning from Patrick that Sheree warned Lola to stay away, Isaac storms to the salon to confront his Mother. In this moment, I kind of feel sorry for Sheree - well both of them really. I'm not too sure how long Isaac has had this illness, but he claims to have things under control where his medication is concerned. The fact that he hasn't had a normal life for a long time seems to be interesting, he admits to his Mum that he genuinely has feelings for Lola and is ready for some happiness in his life. But Sheree is deeply concerned, concerned that she doesn't want her son getting hurt if people find out the truth. This is where Isaac really passionately aches to be heard, he's not scared of his diagnosis and is ready to reveal it to the people close to him. He demands his Mum to say the name of his illness, but she simply refuses, which is when the big reveal is announced and we learn of his Schizophrenia. Later on, Lola is sat alone in the Cafe and Isaac is quick to join her, she claims that she's not willing to put her job on the line if her job is at risk if they were to start dating. But Isaac reassures her that he will put his Mother straight, regardless of her worries, and he convinces Lola to go out on another date.
I know this has have already, but I'm really looking forward to seeing Monday's episode tomorrow so I can comment on Lola's reaction to Isaac's medical news. Let's just hope things won't get worse for Isaac and he and Lola might be able to have a relationship that works, regardless of his mental illness.

Okay so we know that Ruby has been the main focus of these two episodes, but before we delve into her storyline, I want to mention Dotty. Early on in the week we saw her approach Ruby with a business proposition of having a hostess at the club, as a way of gaining more customers and making more money for the club. At first, Ruby seems really against the idea as it'll look as if they're prostituting young women. However, as the episodes have gone on, Dotty seems to have convinced Tiffany to be the hostess of the club, as she would be earning more money for herself and Keegan, in an exchange Dotty has allowed them to move into Sonia's house and live with her, Whitney and Kush. I guess it's fair to say that both Tiffany and Keegan have been struggling for money in recent months, with Keegan working at the club as bar-staff as well as doing his own sandwich business. But to get Ruby on board with this hostess idea, Dotty is eager to find out more information on Ruby. She approaches Tiffany and asks her to tell her everything she knows about the club owner, when she learns about Ruby's Dad and her past and how she became so wealthy, Dotty seems to approach Ruby - I'll mention Ruby's mental state and emotional state shortly, but Dotty catches her at the worst possible time. I thought that Dotty kind of manipulated Ruby into allowing to go forward with the hostess job, complimenting how far she has come in her life and how successful she's been, mentioning that they both have Dad's with bad reputations and she simply wants to make something of her life and make her Dad proud. All this seems to fall on deaf ears, Ruby understandably has other things on her mind, but when Dotty claims she wants 50% of the profits, Ruby claims that she'll have to settle for just 10% otherwise there will be no deal, to which Dotty happily agrees.
I wasn't going to mention much about it, but I do fear for Tiffany. Maybe taking this job at the club may not be a good idea? And how on Earth with Keegan react when he finds out? Tiffany has said she's going to keep it a secret from her husband for a while, until she's ready to tell him. But I guess she's only doing it so they can afford a house for themselves? What do you think? Could Tiffany be putting herself in danger?
--
Okay so the main event I need to mention is Ruby. Oh Ruby ... poor Ruby! I do really feel for her, but I feel like she's so struck by grief and loss that her whole world is crumbling around her. She tries to do something nice but things get thrown back into her face. So, before I mention the devastating loss that Ruby has gone through, we need to start with how this all happened and kicked off. Martin proposes to his wife that she deserves and break and plans a holiday to Greece during the Easter holidays, but Ruby voices her concerns about leaving the children behind during Easter, to which she suggests maybe taking the children with them. Of course that is a really nice gesture, I still can't tell whether she's trying to do one over Stacey or not, but it could simply be a nice gesture for the children, considering that during this moment, Ruby is pregnant and her child would be a sibling to Stacey's children. Unfortunately though, Stacey isn't too keen on her taking the children on holiday. It's revealed that they would take the children away for two weeks, which in Stacey's mind, gives Ruby enough time to turn her children against her. But really, why would Ruby do that if she was pregnant with her own child? Know what I mean?
To try and come up with some sort of an agreement, Stacey, Martin and Ruby decide to meet for a discussion about the holiday plans. However Stacey is furious when Ruby turns up with nail polish for Lilly, when just a few moments before Stacey refused to buy it for her daughter. Stacey once again feels like Ruby is wading in on her children, but honestly, I really don't think that's the case. All Ruby has ever truly wanted is to have a family of her own. To get away from the confrontation she goes to visit the restroom whilst Martin tries to calm Stacey down. Only when Ruby returns, she is visibly very quiet, only she doesn't approach the table to join Martin and Stacey. She grabs her phone and calls up the clinic, informing them that she's 7 weeks pregnant and worryingly, she's bleeding. Without anyone's knowledge, she goes on her own to the clinic where unfortunately the nurse can't seem to pick up a heartbeat on the baby monitor. Devastatingly, she has last her baby, the child she has always wanted.
The following day, she seems to be completely in a world of her own and the previous days events seem to play over and over again in her mind. Martin is trying to do his best to cheer up his wife, even making the kind gesture of putting the baby scan picture in a cute small baby picture frame. However, I still have to mention that that baby scan picture, really isn't hers. Perhaps she never got to have a picture scan? I'm assuming because she was only 7 weeks, she doesn't get a picture? Do you only get a picture when you're 12 weeks? I'm unsure. But regardless, she sadly has no baby scan picture of her own baby. Ruby tries to go on about her day, heading off to work, but whilst she's there Stacey pays her a visit, informing her that if she wants to take her children to Greece for a holiday, then she can pay for it because Stacey simply cannot afford it.
I found this scene between Ruby and Stacey really really gripping actually. Even though they seem to be at each other's throats right now, it was nice to see them actually having a conversation about their teenage years. Recalling on how their memories as best friends and their wishes of having children around the same time as each other, both being Mum's walking their prams around the Square, each of their children calling them "Auntie". I really enjoyed watching this moment, they truly were very best friends for a long time. It's a crying shame how things have changed between them. Okay, Ruby being with Stacey's ex-husband isn't a good start, but I don't know about you guys, but do you miss the friendship that they once had? Would you like it if they were to move on and forgive each other for their wrong doings and become friends again? Honestly, I think they both could do with a good friend right now.
Sadly, their discussion and happy memories doesn't last for long. Ruby claims that she can't see what Martin saw in Stacey, but to clash once again, Stacey gives her the same insult. Does Stacey still have feelings for Martin? Before she found out about them being married, Stacey did confess to Martin that she still loved him, but does her feelings still remain the same? Stacey claims that because she was married to him for quite a long time, plus she's the Mother of his children, she and Martin will always have a history and he will always hold a spark for her. As she goes to leave Ruby alone in the club, Ruby follows her asking her to elaborate on what she means. She stands her ground and informs her ex-best friend that she and her husband are solid and nothing and no one is ever going to come in between them.
As Stacey goes to leave, Ruby follows her up the stairs, but in the commotion of their argument, as Stacey turns to tell Ruby to leave her alone, Ruby's ankle gives way as she steps on one of the stairs and she goes falling backwards along the stairs. Of course Stacey is absolutely terrified for Ruby, knowing that she's pregnant and had a dangerous fall. She stays by her side and places a cushion under her head, calling up Martin to inform him of his wife's accident. Poor Ruby pleads Stacey not to leave her and they both clasp hands. Later on, when Ruby is alone in the hospital, Martin arrives after hearing the news from Stacey. As Ruby looks up at her husband, she absolutely crumbles and bursts into floods of tears. Apologising to her husband and claiming that she really tried, Martin tries his absolute best to console his devastated wife over the loss of their baby. Only, when me mentions that Stacey called him, Ruby is more than furious, I don't know whether it's the grief that's really struck her, or whether she's feeling angry for losing the child she's always wanted, who knows what she could be feeling? Maybe everything just builds inside of her, she makes the horrendous claim that Stacey is to blame for her losing her child as she sobs into Martin's arms.
I do feel that things are going to going to turn dark and more upsetting for all involved in this story. Of course Martin is going to believe his wife, which means that Stacey is going to have a huge battle to fight. If there wasn't a battle before, there most definitely will be a war. Ruby did sadly lose her baby, but Stacey was not to blame. To be honest, she had lost the baby even before she fell, she had miscarried the previous day when she bled and they nurse couldn't detect a heartbeat. But now she's taken a bad fall and Stacey was there, I suppose it gives her the opportunity to put Stacey in the frame and blame her, anything to get back at her, or to even keep her husband on side. Who knows? I do feel for Ruby, I really do, but blaming Stacey for something which wasn't her fault is really not the right thing to do.
As I said, I don't know whether because she's grieving, she's angry, jealous? She could be feeling all these emotions right. But one thing is for sure Stacey is going to have a huge battle on her hands now to prove her innocence. I'm really looking forward to reviewing Monday's episode. I might do the same thing tomorrow and blog about Monday's and Tuesday's episode together, just to make sure I catch up! Thank you all for reading, I apologise for this being so late, but all your support really means the world. I'll be back again tomorrow! Love you all xXx

#68 Jessi and the Bad Babysitter: Chapter 14
Now it’s time for some fireworks! It’s always fun to see someone snap and call the BSC out. Godspeed, Wendy.
It's the next BSC meeting on Wednesday and Jessi has her eyes glued to the door, praying that Wendy arrives on time. She's afraid another Kristy-Wendy showdown will take place, and I think she's also worried that because she's the one that brought her into the BSC, it'll be her ass too.
Much to Jessi's relief, Wendy shows up at 5:29 and she's not a happy camper. “Her mouth was set in a thin line and her big brown eyes were narrowed and angry.” *gasp* How could anyone not be in a good mood to be at a BSC meeting? Wendy says she had to leave a Super Mario tournament just to be at the meeting on time. And to top it off, she was winning too! Guilt-trip all you want, Wendy. The BSC is immune to all excuses. And Super Mario...Ann must have been tearing her hair out when she read all these modern pop culture references.
Jessi tells her she did the right thing and thinks to herself the BSC is more important than video games. The BSC supercedes all! And imagine if Wendy showed up 25 minutes late again...she'd wake up in the morning with “YOU'RE GOING DOWN!” spelled out on her windowsill in baby blocks. Jessi tells Wendy it's important she's here, but Wendy doesn't look too convinced.
At 5:30, Kristy calls the meeting to order and says she has two pieces of business. First, Shannon's coming! But she's going to be late. So anyone else showing up a minute late = LOOK. Shannon showing up late = that's ok! You know what, fine. Shannon gets like no love, let them bend the rules for her.
The second piece of news...Wendy was late to the job at the Pikes! Dun dun dunnnnnn. Wendy, completely blindsided, looks at Jessi accusingly. Oh no, Wendy. Jessi didn't say anything. It was Kristy's little Yes-Girl.
Tumblr media
Mary Anne tattled on Wendy to Kristy. She says she didn't do it to be mean (yeah right) but said it was something that Kristy had to know. Wendy tries defending herself by saying she was maybe 15-20 minutes late and Jessi was already there. Kristy snippily counteracts with this:
“The big deal is that when parents call here they know they can count on us in every way.” (Good times, bad times, in between...) “That means they can be confident that they can get out the door when they need to. This business works because we run it in a professional manner.”
Uh, no, you run it in a dictatorial manner, Miss Napoleon Complex. And geez, if Mary Anne had kept her mouth shut, nothing would have happened. I mean, Mrs. Pike came home and both girls were there and the house and kids were all in one piece. I feel for Wendy because she's being ganged up on when all she's guilty of is assuming wrong. And they all keep forgetting that SHE WAS AT A BABYSITTING JOB. It wasn't like she was out shopping or was on a date (Stacey) or something. Oh wait. That's against BSC rules too. Girl's between a rock and a hard place here.
Wendy opens her mouth to say something, then shuts it. Too bad this a G-rated book because Wendy telling Kristy to fuck off would have been great. After thinking her words over, Wendy says things aren't working out. Stacey, who's said like six lines in this whole book, wants to know why, mainly to ease the tension and keep Kristy from unleashing her claws. She's also mentally taking notes for future reference when she quits this bitch in 15 books.
Wendy says there's too many rules and doesn't like the fact that she has to surrender all her personal jobs over to the BSC. She also doesn't like having to be at meetings three days a week because it takes up too much time. Kristy, your rebuttal? “You knew the rules when you joined.”
NO SHE DIDN'T!!!!!! NO SHE DIDN'T, NO SHE DIDN'T, NO SHE DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good lord! No one gave her an explanation of the rules when she first joined. Kristy was too busy acting all high and mighty, demonstrating how the club assigns jobs and yelling at Mallory for being sick. Holy shit, Kristy is such a bitch. Wendy, in a more composed manner, tells her what I just said. How the first meeting she attended was so frantic and no one ever told her what any of the rules were. Through all of this, Kristy stays silent.
Wendy admits that the club is great (so the brainwashing did get to her a bit) but it's great for all of them - not for her. Mary Anne suggests that it's just an adjustment period and she'll be fine soon. It falls on deaf ears, because Wendy stands up and gives the BSC a verbal smackdown:
“No, I don't think so. I have parents. I have teachers. I don't need a club telling me what to do, too. That's just one too many people bossing me around.” Oooooh, want some ice for that BURN, Kristy? “Sorry it didn't work out. 'Bye.”
With that, Wendy walks out of the room and into BSC obscurity.  Or there's always my theory that she was driven out of Stoneybrook for defying the BSC and was sent to live in RI in exile, like Anne Hutchinson.
Since this is a G-rated book and there can't be any lines of “Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!”, Kristy spits out a goodbye and adds on, “No offense, Jessi. But I can't believe you and she are friends.” Ouch x 100. Geez, someone is a bad match for the BSC = shitty friend. Jessi tries to defend Wendy and calls her “pretty independent.” Yes, free spirits have no place in the BSC! Hear that, Dawn? Change your hippie ways, or you're next!
Stacey jokes that Kristy's met her match. Kristy glares at her (which makes her perm go stick-straight) and gives us this. “Wendy? Not likely. I don't think there's much value in being completely undisciplined and unable to follow a few simple rules.”
A few SIMPLE rules?! The BSC runs around like a bunch of maniacs to make sure they don't break them and cower in fear at receiving one of Kristy’s Looks. The fact that the BSC is literally terrified of pissing off their president is scary and shows that their rules are not that simple.
Jessi remarks that Kristy and Wendy are actually quite alike and that's why they clashed. The only difference is, Kristy's a leader...and Wendy's a loner. Yes, let's just keep shitting all over her.
Jessi apologizes for bringing Wendy in and Kristy says it's alright, she's relieved she's gone. Because if she kept showing up late, they'd have to can her and “that would have been pretty unpleasant.” Oh yeah. With the trial for high treason and the beheading in the town park? Very unpleasant.
Mary Anne says she was afraid they'd fire her and actually had a nightmare over this the night before. “I dreamed we all had to stand in a circle and tell Wendy why she had to leave. In the dream, I couldn't do anything but cry because I felt so bad for her.” Like we need any more evidence that the BSC is a cult. I'm picturing them all in black robes, holding candles with Wendy in the middle, waiting for Logan to lead her off to her tower.
And WTF Mary Anne. If it hadn't been for you blabbing all this to Kristy in the first place, Wendy wouldn’t have up and quit. Shut up.
Before they can trash talk Wendy anymore, Shannon shows up and everything gets sunny again! And, guess what...her Honor Society dinner committee meetings are over! So she isn't as busy now! Claudia gives her the news about the newly-departed Wendy and Shannon says Kristy told her “she wasn't working out too well, anyway.” I'm sure Kristy used much more colorful language than that.
Shannon tells them she has a cunning plan...a plan so cunning, you could brush your teeth with it. Since they've been calling her like a million times a week to offer her jobs...why doesn't she just come to meetings and take over Dawn's position as alternate officer? Then when Dawn comes back, go back to being associate?
Sounds great...JUST LIKE IT DID WHEN I SUGGESTED IT LIKE 10 FRICKIN CHAPTERS AGO!!!!!!! God, it took them THIS long to come up with that?
Kristy is overjoyed, Shannon says she has no issues with stepping down, as it'll be spring by then and she'll be swamped with school stuff and she'll be going away for the summer. Kristy freaks out and demands Shannon not go away for the summer because they'll need her. Shut up, Kristy.
Stacey tells Kristy to chill out and Kristy lets it drop. For now. So the phone starts ringing as the neglectful parents of Stoneybrook call in, Shannon takes lots of jobs, problem solved.
As Jessi goes home, she wonders about whether she should still be friends with Wendy, considering she kind-of told off Kristy and is unreliable. Because having a friend who is late to stuff is BAD. If I dumped any friends who were not punctual, I'd have to get rid of a lot of friends. Jessi finally gets a hold of herself and realizes that not everyone is used to Kristy's iron fist of power, it isn't the end of the world if her friend isn't punctual and decides to talk to Wendy.
Jessi calls up Wendy, Wendy seems to have been fretting over the same stuff because she thinks Jessi hates her for quitting the BSC. The two clarify their feelings, Wendy says she just didn't fit in with the BSC, admits she doesn't like Kristy (but doesn't hate her...no please, tell us your true feelings about her) and they decide to stay friends. Well, at least as much as the BSC will let Jessi, since all non-BSC friends kind of fall to the wayside eventually. She even says Wendy would fit in great with the We <3 Kids Club. I don’t get why Wendy could have stayed on as an associate. She wouldn’t be required to be at every meeting and it would take some of the pressure off Logan and Shannon.

Serial Killers and Their Kids: It’s Complicated
Some offenders who harm others protect their own—others include them.
The offspring of serial killers used to shun media attention. Some changed their last names or went into hiding, and many asked a friend or relative to screen all communications. Recently, we’ve heard from a few in books and on podcasts and talk shows. After their criminal parent’s double life was exposed, many wondered just what this predator had actually felt for them.
How serial killers view their own children turns out to be complicated. I’ve seen comments from enough of those with families (and from family members) to form some basic categories: 1) they care about and protect them, 2) they include them in the crimes, 3) they kill them, and 4) they maintain the deception.
Let’s look at some examples of each.
1. They care about their kids.
When Israel Keyes was caught after murdering a young woman in Alaska, he knew that he’d be linked to a double homicide as well. He had more to say and he wanted to trade it in a deal that would protect his young daughter. “I want an execution date,” he told officers. “I want this whole thing wrapped up and over with as soon as possible. I’ll give you every single gory detail you want, but that’s what I want because I want my kid to have a chance to grow up… and not have all this hanging over her head.”
Dennis Rader, too, was concerned about his son and daughter when he was arrested in 2005 as the “BTK” serial killer in Wichita. He said he knew he’d made them suffer and he wanted to prevent them from further harm. (Even so, at his sentencing hearing, he dehumanized them by calling them “social contacts” and “pawns,” which infuriated his daughter, Kerri. (I reviewed her book here.)
Kerri looks back on things her father had said that now have new meaning. What had once seemed like loving advice about deflecting intruders, for example, now rang with a sinister tone: he’d described what would deflect him. “It’s horrible to realize that as my dad was raising children,” Kerri writes, “he chose to take another mother away from her own children. He was about to have a daughter, yet took two more daughters away from their families.”
Although Albert Fish molested and murdered kids, he raised six of his own as a single parent, seemingly without harm. When he was tried for the murder and dismemberment of Grace Budd, his children testified. They thought he’d loved them, but none had guessed the extent of his problems. Observing aspects of his odd deviancy, they’d thought him merely eccentric. None reported abuse.
2. They included their kids.
Sante Kimes was a born con artist, and even got her two sons involved in her criminal schemes. Kent Walker, her oldest, describes life with Sante in Son of a Grifter, in which he sorts through why he ultimately rejected her while his younger half-brother Kenny went along with the crimes. Sante and Kenny came to national attention with the disappearance of a wealthy philanthropist, Irene Silverman, from her Upper East Side home in Manhattan. They’d finagled a real estate document with Silverman's signature on it, but the notary public would not sign it. Soon, Sante and Kenny were arrested. A search of their stolen Lincoln Town Car turned up Silverman's passport, a pair of handcuffs, several syringes, a handgun, stun guns, wigs, and papers that suggested they’d done away with Silverman. Kenny described how they'd done it together. They were convicted of her murder in New York, as well as for the murder of David Kazdin in California. Kenny also confessed to the murder of a man in the Bahamas. Joseph Kallinger killed one of his sons for insurance money and coerced others to get involved with his criminal acts. He and his fifteen-year-old son Michael were suspects in a seven-week, three-state crime spree that involved robbery, rape, and murder. Their fingerprints were matched to those found in one of the homes, and the victims identified them. Kallinger was convicted of multiple crimes. Police suspected that he’d taken his son Jimmy on at least one of these expeditions.
3. They killed their kids.
Indiana’s Belle Gunness and England’s Mary Ann Cotton are among those mothers who murdered their kids for insurance money. A few others, like Marie Noe, had mental health issues. Stacey Castor tried to kill her daughter to stage a suicide, hoping she could pin the murders of two men on the girl. Gary Ridgway, the “Green River Killer,” came close to murder, but for a different reason. He used the fact that he had a son to make his potential targets feel comfortable. He’d flash his wallet to make the boy’s picture visible. If he brought a woman home, he’d show her his son’s room. "They look in the bedrooms, nobody's in there," he told investigators. "There's my son's room, hey, this guy has a son, he's not gonna hurt, anybody."
In 1982, Ridgway picked up a woman while the 7-year-old son was in his truck. Ridgway was in the mood to kill, so he found a wooded area and parked. He got out, let the woman out and left his son in the truck. He guided the woman to an area that he believed was beyond his son’s line of sight. After sex, he killed her, leaving her corpse in the woods. He told his son that she’d decided to walk home. Another time, while his son slept in the truck, he found the decomposing corpse of one of his victims and had sex with it.
Two decades later, Ridgway told a psychologist that he was sorry about that episode. When the psychologist asked what he’d have done if his son had gotten out and seen him, Ridgway denied that he’d have killed the boy, but then hedged: "No, probably not, I don't know." He admitted it was possible. He'd considered it.
4. They maintain the deception.
Several offspring of serial killers have told me that they cannot have a relationship with their criminal parent, because they can't trust them. They've been betrayed and even after the parent went to prison, he or she continued to scam or lie to them.
Yet some cling to hope. The daughter of a man who’d killed 13 prostitutes claimed that he was sincerely remorseful, which made it possible for her to feel close to him as a daughter. Yet he'd told her he had a disorder that blocked him from feeling remorse. She didn’t know what this meant, but she believed he was now a good man. That’s the kind of naiveté that psychopaths exploit. From what I knew of his lifelong duplicity, I doubted he'd changed—especially if he used a disorder as an excuse.
Even those who care about their kids have lived secret criminal lives for so long that they might be unable to care the way they think they can. Israel Keyes killed himself when he couldn't get the deal, ensuring a public legacy that will always hang over his daughter’s head. The entire time he was committing his well-planned murders, he had to realize that if he got caught, he’d be exposing her to what he'd done. His life of crime was entirely narcissistic.
Rader, too, lacked appreciation for the harm his crimes would cause his children if he got caught. When I suggested that even the decision to kill undermined his avowed love for his family, he bristled. To him, it was simple: “It didn’t occur to me that they’d be hurt, because I didn’t expect to be caught.”

I got you
Tumblr media
Word count: 1180
Warnings: swearing, one sided love, homophobia, underage drinking
The losers are obviously aged up so I guess technically it's an au because they are all still close at this point.
I walk up to prom feeling super self conscious about being in a dress but I suck it up because I know that Richie needs me. I hand my ticket in and I wait by the door and Richie runs up, looking good, his hair is gel'd back and he's in a suit and the tie matches the pink and teal of my dress and I smile at him and he smiles back super huge.
"You look beautiful" he says and I smile at him bowing.
"I would hope so it took three people to put this together" I say gesturing to my whole body and he laughs.
"No but you look extremely handsome" I say and he holds his arm out and I wrap mine around his and we walk all the way to find our friends and they are sitting at the table so I pull him over and I sit next to Bill and he jumps.
"(Y/n) h-holy shit" he says and I laugh and Richie sits down beside me.
"Wait you two came together?" Mike asks and we both nod at the same time.
"He asked me as soon as we found out the day of the prom and I of course said yes" I say smiling at him and squeezing his hand.
"You look nice rich" Eddie says sitting down with his prom date and I can feel Richie internationally scream.
"Thanks Ed's. Not looking too bad yourself" he says and I turn to him because what the fuck kind of comeback was that, he turns to me before nodding to the drink table.
"I'm going to go get a drink. Anyone want something?" I ask.
"If you don't mind" Mike says resting his foot up on his dates lap.
"Athena?" I ask.
"Yes please. Thank you" she says and I smile at her.
"I'll help" Richie says and I nod as I stand up and he stands up leading the way and I stop filling up a couple cups and Richie stands with his back to me looking at everyone.
"Okay Rich you absolutely suck at playing it off" I say laughing.
"Shut up" he says and I start laughing harder.
"He has you thrown all off your game" I say.
"Hey (Y/n). I love this dress, you look so beautiful" I hear behind me and I turn around to see Astrid smiling at me.
"Thanks. Same" I say realizing how stupid that sounded and so hear Richie laugh behind me.
"What I meant was uh I like your dress too" I say but it comes out more as a question.
"Uh Thanks" She says giving me a huge smile before refilling her drink and walking away and Richie is wheezing from how hard he's laughing.
"Shut the fuck up" I say shoving him some cups and I pick up the other cups and I walk back over to the table, flopping down in the seat and handing Mike his drink.
"What happened?" Ben asks and I shake my head.
"She's just flustered" Richie says chuckling when he hands Athena her drink.
"Shut up" I say going into my purse and pulling out the flask and I start drinking it and Richie reaches for it so I hand it to him.
"Let's go dance" I say pulling him up and everyone gets up and I pull him to the dance floor, everyone around me.
"Go do it. He won't find it weird, just ask for one dance" I say as me and Richie slow dance together.
"It doesn't even have to be a slow song just as long as you can groove together" I say and he laughs pulling me closer.
"You're such a loser" he says and I shake my head.
"I would be offended if it wasn't true" I say giggling.
"Okay I'll ask Eddie if you ask Astrid" he says and I shake my head.
"No, you just go do it" I say and he shakes his head.
"We both do it or we don't" he says and I take in a shaky breath.
"Okay" I say pulling away when the song ends and I go over to Astrid and I tap her shoulder and she turns around smiling at me.
"Hey I was just wondering if you wanted to dance?" I ask and before she can say anything the group she's with starts cracking up.
"Holy shit, that explains it. (Y/n) is a lesbian" Aubrey says and they all start laughing.
"Astrid has a boyfriend" Stacey says.
"Yeah I know that but she's been my friend and I just wanted to see if she wanted to dance" I say covering it up.
"We all know why you really want to dance with her, you know it's a sin to be gay right?" Amanda asks.
"You better hope no one finds out because it won't be good for you" Aubrey says and Astrid just steps back, her face full of disgust and my eyes start watering.
"Sorry to bother you" I say and I take off running, needing to go home because I can't be here anymore.
I feel someone grab me and I turn around to see Richie and I start sobbing and he grabs me.
“I got you” he whispers holding me I fall to the ground, him going down with me.
"Why am I like this?" I ask.
"What's wrong with me? What is wrong with us?" I sob and he rubs my back.
"Nothing is wrong with us" he says and I laugh shaking my head.
"Then why the fuck do we have to hide Richie?" I ask.
"If Nothing was wrong with us why do we have to secretly pin after the people we love? And why did we have to be each other's prom dates? If we came with who we really liked it would be a huge problem so obviously something is wrong with us and I just want to get drunk" I say and he pulls out his flask and I pull out mine and we share them.
He pulls me back into the building and I pull him over to the dance floor and the song changes and I start laughing dancing and he dances with me pretending to play the keyboard.
"Looking in your eyes I see a paradise. This world that I've found is too good to be true. Standing here beside you, want so much to give you this love in my heart that I'm feeling for you" he sings holding his hand out to me.
"Let 'em say we're crazy, I don't care about that. Put your hand in my hand baby don't ever look back. Let the world around us just fall apart. Baby we can make it if we're heart to heart" I sing grabbing his hand.
"And we can build this thing together. Stand this storm forever. Nothings gonna stop us now. And if this world runs out of lovers we'll still have each other. Nothing's gonna stop us. Nothing's gonna stop us now ohh" we sing together dancing like complete idiots.

DEKE PIERCE WAS wearing civilian clothes as he took to the lectern in a narrow press room inside the Texas Capitol in Austin last month, but it was still obvious that he was a cop. He stood with his feet wide and his arms slightly away from his body, a stance molded by years in a uniform encumbered by heavy gear. He was there to make an extraordinary announcement: He and 12 other members of law enforcement with more than 250 years of combined experience had filed a friend-of-the-court brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in favor of a Texas death row prisoner named Rodney Reed, slated for execution on November 20.
“We each care deeply about the criminal justice system and the rule of law. While that often means holding wrongdoers accountable, it is the equally important goal of the criminal justice system to avoid punishing the innocent,” Pierce told a group of reporters. “Not only would moving forward with Mr. Reed’s execution be cruel and immoral, it would also undermine the rule of law and the legitimacy of the very system we as law enforcement officers swore to uphold.”
Their brief argues that Reed’s conviction was tainted by common problems in law enforcement — forensic errors, “weak facts,” tunnel vision, and “community pressure that can distort an investigation.” The officers argue that in this case there is “uniquely compelling” evidence that Reed is innocent.
Pierce and his fellow officers join an increasing number of high-profile voices calling for a stay of execution and a thorough review of Reed’s case as a stream of new witnesses continue to come forward with revelations that cast doubt on Reed’s conviction; there is one who now says another suspect confessed to the crime that put Reed on death row. Reed’s lawyers, including his long-time attorney Bryce Benjet of the Innocence Project, have asked various courts to intervene, among them the U.S. Supreme Court. Those actions remain pending as the clock ticks down toward the execution date.
While Pierce and his colleagues understand “as well as anyone the need for finality in criminal cases,” they wrote, where “there is a significant risk of executing an innocent man, that need for finality must yield to the needs of justice.”
18 Years on the Case
Rodney Reed was convicted and sentenced to die in 1998 for the rape and murder of 19-year-old Stacey Stites two years earlier. On April 23, 1996, Stites was found dead, her body dumped on the side of a country road outside of Bastrop, a small town roughly a half-hour east of Austin. She was partially clothed and lying face up, her arms above her head. Marks on her neck led investigators to conclude that she’d been strangled with a length of braided leather belt, a piece of which was left nearby. Sperm was collected from inside her.
The murder went unsolved for nearly a year before law enforcement officers, apparently acting on a hunch, tested the recovered DNA against 29-year-old Reed. It matched and formed the basis of the prosecution’s case. No other evidence tied Reed to the murder. The DNA was the “Cinderella’s slipper,” prosecutors argued at trial.
When he was initially questioned by police, Reed denied knowing Stites, but soon admitted to having an affair with her, which would explain the presence of his DNA; the two had sex just days before Stites was found dead, he said.
It’s hardly surprising that Reed wasn’t immediately forthcoming. The relationship would have been a risky one in small-town Texas, even in the mid-1990s: Reed is black, and Stites was white and engaged to a man named Jimmy Fennell, a white cop in a neighboring town.
At trial, Reed had various witnesses lined up who could testify to the relationship, but most weren’t called, seemingly because they were related to Reed. Those who did testify weren’t particularly effective: One woman referred to Stites as “Stephanie” when recounting meeting her at the Reed family’s Bastrop home. Among the witnesses who weren’t called were at least two who said they knew about the affair and that Fennell had found out about it and threatened Reed.
Over the last 18 years, I’ve written dozens of times about Reed’s case. It was clear early on that it had serious problems and that Reed’s conviction left open a number of questions about what happened to Stites and why. As the years have passed, the case has become even more disturbing. There is medical and forensic evidence that has been debunked. There are witnesses — including within Stites’s family — who have come forward to say they were aware of the relationship. And then there’s Fennell. There’s been a lot of troubling information about him, too, including from law enforcement officers disturbed by his behavior both before and after Stites’s murder. Some of that information should have been made available to defense lawyers before Reed’s trial but wasn’t.
And then there are the courts, crucially including Texas’s Court of Criminal Appeals, which has repeatedly demonstrated a results-oriented willful ignorance in the face of mounting evidence challenging the conviction.
A Suspicious Timeline
From the beginning, the state’s theory of Stites’s murder was a problem. On the day she died, Stites was slated to work at 3:30 a.m. at a Bastrop grocery store. She was living in the nearby town of Giddings, about 30 minutes northeast of Bastrop, in an apartment she shared with Fennell, who was a cop there. She never made it to work. Several hours later, Fennell’s pickup truck, which Stites allegedly drove to work that morning, was found in the parking lot of Bastrop High School. Her body was found that afternoon, several miles out of town.
Based on this set of facts, the state came up with a theory of her death that hinged on Reed’s DNA being the result of a stranger encounter: Stites left the apartment sometime around 3 a.m., driving toward Bastrop. Along the way, Reed, on foot, somehow stopped her and attacked her. He raped and strangled her and dumped her body before driving into town where he parked Fennell’s truck at the school before walking away.
As a practical matter, this never made much sense to me. How would a man on foot overcome a woman driving along a highway? Even if she were to come to a stoplight, it’s not as though she couldn’t drive through it — after all, it was 3 a.m. And if there was traffic at that hour, it would seem even less likely that he could pull off such a feat.
The timeline underpinning the state’s theory was provided by Fennell. He wasn’t awake when Stites got up for work, he said, but she would have left around 3 a.m. or so. He said that he and Stites had been home alone all evening. Yet the police never sought to search their Giddings apartment, even though it was the last place she was seen alive.
Despite that inexplicable oversight, reading the police reports and notes related to the case, you can see that early on, Fennell was a suspect — members of Stites’s family even penned a list of concerns about his behavior at the time. He was interrogated several times by police, exchanges that he characterized in trial testimony as abusive “from day one.”
That Fennell was originally a suspect is important because investigators knew that he hadn’t contributed the DNA evidence. In other words, at least early on, the DNA wasn’t considered the lynchpin of the case. Nonetheless, once they matched the DNA to Reed, they dropped Fennell as a suspect. And that’s a problem, Pierce and the other law enforcement officers say. It suggests that detectives suffered from tunnel vision, “to which all law enforcement officers are susceptible,” they wrote in their brief to the Supreme Court. “This phenomenon does not depend on any bad faith or incompetence of the officers involved. Rather, it is a result of ordinary cognitive bias, that can make even experienced, well-intentioned officers fixate on a theory of the case that, from an objective perspective, does not hold up.”
“In particular, the pretrial investigation shows that police did not believe the forensic evidence exonerated Mr. Fennell until after Mr. Reed became a suspect,” they continued. “Only after Mr. Reed was identified as the source of an intimate sample did police consider the forensic evidence dispositive of guilt.”
In fact, additional forensic evidence pointed toward Fennell. Fingerprints lifted from his pickup truck — the one Reed supposedly drove after hijacking Stites — matched only Stites and Fennell. It’s hard to imagine that Reed would have tried to hide his identity by wiping his prints from the truck while leaving his DNA inside Stites.
As it turned out, there was also a problem with that DNA sample — not with its identification of Reed, but with what the state said it meant about Stites’s time of death. According to state witnesses, the fact that three intact spermatozoa were recovered from Stites meant that she’d had sex no more than about 24 hours prior to death.
Taken at face value, along with Fennell’s insistence that he was home with Stites the night before she was murdered, it would seem that the only conclusion was that Stites had sex just before she was killed. “We know, from the credible evidence, that [sperm] doesn’t hang around for days on end. We know from the credible evidence that that tells you that that sperm got in that girl’s body within 24 hours” of when the evidence was collected, prosecutors told the jury at Reed’s trial. “Which is when? On her way to work.”
I always found this suspicious because it was so oddly specific. Even back then, it sounded like junk science. Reed’s trial lawyers failed to call their own experts, so in 2002, I asked a Texas medical examiner unconnected to the case to review the evidence. He was uncomfortable with the state basing the timeline on sperm evidence, which, he told me, is “never very precise.”
In the intervening years, a number of noted forensic pathologists have agreed that the state’s conclusion lacked scientific support. Even the medical examiner who conducted Stites’s autopsy and had agreed with the state’s truncated timeline at Reed’s trial recanted his testimony. In 2018, both a state crime lab and a private DNA lab walked back the testimony of their employees who had been witnesses at Reed’s trial, noting that their assertions that the sperm had to be deposited close to Stites’s time of death were not supported and were in “error.”
There is another glaring issue for the medical experts who have reviewed the case: The state’s timeline for Stites’s murder was off — by hours. According to the pathologists, changes to Stites’s body at the time it was found demonstrated that she’d been killed before midnight and then dumped in the woods the following morning, meaning, by Fennell’s own account, Stites died while she was at home alone with him.
After death, blood no longer circulates and gravity causes it to pool under the skin in the lowest parts of the body, leading to dark patches that resemble bruising, known as post-mortem lividity. When Stites’s body was found, she was lying face up, yet the front of her body showed clear signs of lividity — on her face, right arm and hand, and chest. Since lividity takes at least four hours to set, the pathologists have agreed that this meant that Stites was killed and left in a position where she was slumped forward, one arm outstretched, for at least four hours before her body was dumped.

BL run, Hubbie’s dead and Edel ascended to a winged... thing, being. It looks weird and made me think about a creepy angel and a weird... horror thing.
Is she still going on a “Eww dragons” leitmotiv to continue the war ?
I don’t understand why all those claims of “Rhea created a church to venerate her mother” are still around, given how Seteth and Flayn’s mom met in a church way before Seiros became a saint and the Church of Seiros was established.
So either the previous god worshipped in those churches was Jesus of Arkansas, or it was Sothis herself (because those puny humans worship higher beings who shared their technology/magic with them). We don’t have any clue about another deity-like being in Fodlan, so I suppose Sothis was the one venerated in this pre-Seiros church.
Anyways... I forgot but Linhardt died in the Manu prologue, i didn’t feel a thing as exposed earlier because all of the BE students can choose to rebel (as seen in SS) but they don’t.
Here, Petra died and there’s one thing I don’t understand with her : she’s most likely aware that she’s a political hostage, but she loves her country and wants to be a good ruler.
So... she must side with Edel as her vassal, but then, in SS, she doesn’t because she doesn’t agree with the Empire’s “eww dragon” propaganda and their imperialistic means/goals.
But in CF, and here, I felt as if Petra endorsed 100% Edel’s continental war plan which is, uh, weird because :
- her own country was subjugated, her parents died due to the war and she’s an hostage
- she’s willing to let the same thing happen to the other states in Fodlan? (jokes on her though, since the Kingdom of faerghus never existed, Dimitri’s cousin (his uncle’s child?) won’t be used as a hostage but as wyvern food)
The “but if she sides with us Briggid will be attacked” argument doesn’t stand because when she does, Hubbie comes in quite late (only in a paralogue) to draft the Briggid guys into the Imperial forces - they weren’t enroled in the imperial forces during the timeskip ? 5 fucking years? even wonder france managed to draft our ultra-marine randoms earlier during WW1 so if wonder france can do it everyone can
Ultimately Petra makes her last stand in Enbarr to protect the capital, while supporting Edel’s goals so off she goes. Gilbert (lel) killed her with his Hauteclaire (on that point, the Archanea Regalia is noted to have been used in the War of Heroes - i know it’s an easter egg, but it’s funny).
I didn’t understand if House Varley’s reinforcments were the winged beasts, the assassins or the ninjas... It doesn’t really matter, because bar the ninjas, those reinforcements are really creepy! What is going on in House Varley?!
Note that Bernie’s dad, who’s hated in a good part of the fandom, used to be the minister of religion or something like that, but he opposed Edel and was placed under house arrest, when Bernie’s mom supports Edel’s regime.
Bernie’s worried about hurting her mom (if they fight in Enbarr she might be a casualty) but... of course the minister of religion would be opposed to the war against the church - and given how Edel uses beasts as a staple of her army - who on Naga can support the war? Bernie’s mom most likely doesn’t know what those beasts are (her friendly neighbour Stacey?) but if “eww dragons” is a reason enough to fight against the church, “eww monsters” should be a reason enough to get the fuck out of here.
Hubert’s last lines were... disappointing. I grew fond of him in CF because he was playable, but, again double standard, i can’t understand why Catherine “the zealot” receives so much flak for being so devoted to her lord when Hubert’s escaping the wave of flak scot-free.
I know Hubert is more then Edel’s evil chancelor sidekick, just like Catherine is more than Rhea’s matches but jeez
Speaking of Catherine, BL route doesn’t explore her character more than SS did, there’s just this tidbit with her still alive and kickin’ dad and that’s it...
Interesting to note though, that contrary to the Silver Snow version of this chapter, here we don’t have to save random civilians. So Edel must have evacuated them earlier (but then we’ve seen Claude do it so why couldn’t they spare a line for Edel?) or the “kill/use civilians as meatshield” is exclusive to the Black Eagles route.
Dimitri went to talk to Edel, it went nowhere but the grudge Edel has against the Church and the Goddess who didn’t answer her prayers when she needed them wasn’t tackled on the other routes.
To Edel, she wasn’t strong to begin with, she started off weak and became strong. To Dimitri, you can’t become strong by trampling the weak like Edel does.
The line about Dimitri not understanding what the commoners want made me smile, not because he lived with them during his exile years, but because the same argument can be opposed to Edel, and if Dorothea is the sole representative of “The Commoners” then it sucks for them :p also Edel can’t understand what the commoners want since they turned into biological monsters...
That convo would have been better if it happened before the time-skip and before Flamey’s stuff, but it didn’t.
Ultimately I think I got the goal of that converstation, if Edel talked or had been more open with Dimitri about her issues/problems, then they could have worked together. OTOH, even in the pre-timeskip, Edel already wrote him as irrelevant and was dead-set on her goal so it wasn’t possible.
The only time-frame where I can see the two of them working together would be before Edel returns to the Empire, but that would require rewritting the plot way too much (if they told nuncle Arry to fig off and if Edel remained in the Kingdom? but then if Lambert allowed this it would be seen as kidnapping a foreign heir and Ionus would have started a war, I guess.)
Time to kill Myson (I wonder if the FE16 verion of Hel summons illusions of naked women like FE5) and end this route.
