Favorite thing: Kinda the authenticity of this for me. And it being the first AUs that got my Pokémon hyperfixation rising back from the dead really helped me out.

Favorite thing: The body horror and themes of what it is to be truly human. I honestly enjoy this topic of post-humanism or as I like to call it: “the altered self horror”. Things like all tomorrows, An American werewolf in London, or any other kind of fiction involving body horror in any way I really enjoy!

Synopsis: The “what if” scenario where everything wife’s down a rollercoaster down. Nemona never got a perfect rival, team star is expelled and Arven’s Mabosstiff dies of its injuries. Pechakeen, a glimmora and the half of the now human Geeta, controls the three and forces them under their will.

Favorite thing: the tone and somberness of it all. And yes, this is coming from someone who prefers happy endings over downers, but considering how the AU and the tone, this doesn’t feel like a simple “toxic chained au” that can be stopped with a Pokémon battle. No. This is not that kind of au. Here, there was no Florian/Juliana. There was no helping them out. And in their place, are two siblings forced to take the role of the hero. It kinda has a somber feel of “oh god” for the poor children unable to climb out of the pit of no return… it kinda reminds me of Giant of the skies’ ornithocheirus in a sense.

Synopsis: A botw/Totk au that deviates heavily from the canon of the era of the wilds. 17 years after a great calamity, Sheik and Ganondorf must save Hyrule from the threat of the Scourge king, with help of allies old and new, to bring balance and slay the ancient malice king.

Favorite thing: The character designs and vibe. Ezlo’s job at redesigning the Gorons, Zora and Rito is something I genuinely enjoy as they are given more realistic traits like the Gorons being more akin to dinosaur people. All her art has a sort of nostalgic vibe like this could be from a cartoon from the late 90’s to early 2000’s like samurai jack or a studio Ghibli movie. The art style really elevates the tone and narrative of this unique BOTW/TOTK au in a way that I honestly prefer over the original (I still love Botw/totk btw)

Honestly, this is probably one of my favorite TLOZ AUs out there.

If only Pokemon games would bring back mechanics for foreign characters or characters that travel. Like imagine Nemona using a Z Crystal because she would reasonably visit Alola for vacation. Penny is from Galar so she could use Dynamax if she had a power spot (also she's ridiculously powerful for someone who would stay in and watch anime all day so she probably took on the gym challenge.) Arven could have any number of things as his parents would have reason to study those types of phenomenon. But mega evolution would be most possible as the weapon in X/Y looks to be made of terra crystals.

There it is again.

For the past two weeks, the person occupying the dorm next to you seemed to make it a point to make your ears bleed. It was the simplest explanation. Otherwise, they must have never heard good music before.

You desperately needed a good night’s sleep. Especially tonight. Your traitorous mind conjures up images of an angry Director Clavell chastising you for not being better prepared for your meeting tomorrow.

Like a ghostly power came over you, you bang your fist against the shared wall and yell out, “Turn it down!”

Immediately, you’re overcome with guilt and shame. A harried voice exclaims, “Oh crap!” The music dies down in an instant, and the same voice apologizes profusely. “I’m sorry! That was my bad! Please don’t be mad— wait you probably already are. I didn’t realize—“ The rest of the words are muffled, and you would not be surprised if they had smushed their face against the wall in an attempt to appease you.

The blanket tightly wrapped around you is warm, and so cozy, but you couldn’t help the need to go over there and apologize yourself. Before you exit your dorm, you give yourself a quick once-over. You snap out of it soon enough. What did it matter what you looked like anyway?

As soon as your neighbor opens up their door, you realize oh no, maybe it did matter what you looked like. (Oh no, he’s hot.)

You’re all too aware of your embarrassing state of dress. Penny’s star patterned joggers, Arven’s sandwich print shirt, and Nemona’s Cyclizar slippers. Not to mention, the bird’s nest of a hair you’re sporting.

If he thinks you look funny, he doesn’t say it. In fact, he stands there, hand on his door knob, mouth gaping open. As if in disbelief.

Speaking rapidly, like there’s a magnetic pull forcing you back into the safety of your own bed, you say, “Hey. Sorry for yelling like that. I appreciate you turning it down. Your music was keeping me up. I have a thing early morning. ‘Kay, thanks, baiii.”

Before he could get a word in, you hightail it back to your room.

Giacomo could only poke his head out into the hallway, staring quizzically at your door. “No problem,” he whispers, knowing full well you couldn’t hear him.

Because of how restless you had felt after seeing him last night, you tossed and turned for hours. You’re not exactly sure what pulled you to sleep, but the need for sleep had caught up so suddenly that you realize you had slept through all three of your alarms.

The red 7:00 on your bedside table gleams mockingly.

A series of rapts on your door rids you of all drowsiness. You’re a little bothered by all the ruckus, but admittedly you’d rather have that than miss your meeting happening in fifteen minutes.

Opening the door felt like déjà vu… sort of, except you’re on the other side of the wall. And the man standing there is a lot better dressed than he’d been last night.

“Good morning.”

Your brain still hasn’t quite caught up to the weirdness of the morning. You stare at him, unintentionally memorizing the color of his eyes, the slope of his nose, the curve of his smile.

The brightness in his eyes soon dim down, and is accompanied by the clearing of his throat. “I was wondering if you could keep it down. Your alarm kept waking me up.”

“O-okay.” You’re still confused by everything, the instinct to flare up at his words doesn’t appear.

A paper cup is thrust at your direction. “Anyway, the café gave me an extra coffee. Thought I could make up for all the noise from my end.” The smell wafting from it suggests it should be worth like 12 dollars at least. So, the good stuff. “Plus you said you have a thing this morning so…” He lets the words die down.

You take a tentative sip. “Thanks.”

It was exactly how you liked it. The kind of order you treat yourself with after finals.

“I should let you get ready,” he smiles.

Before he could shut his door, Giacomo feels a hand pulling on his sleeve. You’re looking at the carpet beneath you as though it were the most interesting thing in the world. Cute.

“I want to make it up to you too.”

Giacomo knows his cheeks are going to hurt from how much he’s grinning.

“Buy me a drink tonight?”

You eventually bring your gaze to him, and he has to catch his breath at the sight.

“Sounds fair…” Your eyes widen like you just realized something. “…neighbor.”

He laughs, and you have the decency to look a little embarrassed. A sadistic part of him almost wishes to see that expression more often, but ultimately the gentlemanly part wins over. “Giacomo.”

You repeat his name a few times, and he feels himself blush.

When he gently reminds you of your impending meeting, and you leave his presence, the grin is still fixed firmly on his face.

Pawniard snickers at his trainer.

“Shut up.” He couldn’t even keep the giddiness off his voice.

Not his fault, he lucked out rooming right next to his café crush.

wait. wait wait wait WAIT. WHAT??? Julinemo is a RAREPAIR? I ship those two since the beginning of my playthrough. I genuinely didn't knew??????

Admittedly 'rarepair' is a subjective term, but considering how massive a franchise Pokemon is and that Nemona is the primary rival of the newest Pokemon game, I'd say the fact that Nemona/Juliana only has 114 works listed on AO3 at the moment (only 92 if you remove Explicit ones) is pretty shockingly low. Although the # of fics there that pair her with the other main characters are also low (only 35 for Nemona/Arven and 70 for Nemona/Penny); the most popular pairing seems to be Nemona/Florian (163), by these metrics at least

In terms of Tumblr, I definitely get the impression that Nemona x Penny and Nemona x Arven are topics that get far more posts than Nemona x Juliana. Now that's just my impression, but I've spent over a year obsessed with Julinemo and searching tags, and I think I have a decent sense of how much content is out there on Tumblr. (Still, if folks have other perspectives, please do chime in and share!)

Nemona x Juliana is definitely more popular if you expand your search online to Japanese artists. Also, I personally believe that the majority of Nemona x Juliana fans do not create fan content for the ship or original posts about them, based on the number of interactions & reblogs I see on Julinemo posts. So, I think there are a lot more Julinemo fans than it initially seems, they just aren't super active or talkative in fandom spaces. When the Yoasobi music video came out, it especially highlighted this; I saw SO many people losing their minds on Twitter, super excited about the ship, but many of those seemed to be people who normally didn't make posts otherwise.

So, yeah! That was probably a more wordy reply than you wanted, lol, but in summary, they do indeed seem to be rarepair, relative to other Scarlet/Violet ships and especially relative to the fan content you can find dedicated to ships in similarly-sized fandoms. But like I said, I think there are a lot of Julinemo fans out there who just aren't super active-- I'm hoping Julinemo Week helps encourage more participation! :)

Thoughtless Murmuring

Arven x reader, arven pissed you off and he's gonna try to do something about it. No gendered pronouns used to describe reader

"Hey! Hey, over here!" Nemona waved frantically from her booth in the corner of the bar as you and Arven entered.

The moment you saw her, you turned and made a beeline to her, completely disregarding your boyfriend who seemed to unsuccessfully reach for your hand.

You plopped down into the booth with a huff, displeasure evident on your features.

"What's got you upset?" Penny asked as she sipped from her drink.

"Don't wanna talk about it." You retorted, biting back most of your current frustration.

Nemona and Penny shared a look between them for a long moment before shrugging and letting the subject drop, so they could return to their previous conversation.

Just being near them helped dissipate some of your anger, and slowly you began to relax and join in.

That is, until Arven returned from the bar, a drink in each hand. One for himself and one for you.

You took the glass without a word or a look, and promptly went back to ignoring him, much to his dismay.

"So..." Nemona asked, trying to keep things cordial. "Think you're up for karaoke tonight?"

You rolled your eyes at the thought. "Absolutely not. No one ever sounds good doing karaoke anyw-"

"Up next," The DJ interrupted you over the speaker. "We have...Arven! Come on up, Arven! Your song is queued and ready to go!"

You let your head fall into your crossed arms on the table with an exaggerated groan as your boyfriend gave Nemona and Penny a grin, standing to go over to the karaoke stage.

He took the microphone in his hands and nodded to the DJ. Only then did the music begin, a saxophone solo reverberating through the bar.

Arven crooned the opening melisma before the lyrics began in earnest. True to form, he didn't sound exactly like the original artist (how could he anyway without a studio? Karaoke isn't fair.), but he did a good enough impersonation that folks nearby shouted their approval.

He sang a line about taking your hand and leading you to the dance floor, going as far as to leave the stage, mic in hand, to reach for you, but you huffily turned away, not playing his stupid game.

Arven wasn't deterred, continuing to sing through the chorus, lamenting that he'll never dance again due to his guilt.

Through the instrumental breaks, the crowd cheered him into dancing those stupid dances his does in the kitchen sometimes, where he sways his hips in a rocking kind of motion that's anything but sexy, but with this song? Ugh. What a fucking ham.

You hid your face again, having momentarily forgotten your anger while watching him.

Nemona and Penny were both enraptured by the performance as Arven belted out lyrics meant just for you about how he'll never get over his guilt.

The crowd yelled for more as the music eventually faded, and Arven took his bow, returning the mic to its stand.

He slid back into the booth next to you, jostling you playfully. "C'mon... You can't be that mad after a performance like that."

"Really!" Nemona agreed enthusiastically. "What'd he do anyway that's got you so pissy?"

You grumbled into your arms.

"What was that?" Nemona asked. "Speak up."

"He stole my fucking garlic bread."

Nemona is to me the best modern rival, if not n°1 on the top 3. They finally make a friendly rival worked. Woman is just obsessed with battling and have a real passion and (spoiler for the end of the game) Post game, post tournament you have the possibility to talk to Penny, Arven and Nemona 3 times (and unlock access to their room) and Nemona probably has the one who give the best explanation about her behavior and her past:

She was actually quite lonely before you showed up.

She train so much and was so good in battle, no one wanted to play with her anymore. When she asked, she get shoved off by her comrade, receive mean remark for her skill and enthousiasm.

Add to that, her parents are really absent figure + She is not really skilled at catching pokemon *cough cough* See my prostetic arm theory. And yeah, she needed a friend.

Now she have someone willing to trains and fight for up to two hours (yes, this script exist, this is hilarious). On equal footing with her in pokemon battle and even if she is awkward and silly, she is nice to the player and a good helping hand while being challenging in her own right *cough cough* more than geeta.

Pokemon S/V Fanfic is coming

(edit: don't count on these to still be what i'm working on but the title is still true)

for the people who follow me because i yell about pokemon scarlet and violet in general or nemona arven or penny in particular, or who just see me in the tags a lot: i have (at least) two decent length nemona-centric stories in progress right now that i might start episodically posting after we've played the indigo disk DLC for a while. there isn't any in this post but i did want to talk a bit about it (under a read more so i can pin it without being too annoying lmao)

while i was tempted to dump the start of both right now, i should probably wait until i'm more prepared and everyone's finished the DLC and gotten their hunger for SV content back. plus there might be some key characterization or worldbuilding stuff in there

that's right, getting blueballed by the end of basegame acting like we'd live happily ever after and hang out and adventure together more once the credits rolled, followed by a year of that not happening and trailers pretending none of it mattered and nemona and friends don't need us and aren't the main characters of the story (deep breath) did in fact turn me into the joker a fanfic writer like i thought it might

After The Rain and Biri Biri officially showing a glimpse of how I see the story - and implying that maybe it's more canon than i had cynically resigned myself to believe - has only rekindled the flames hotter

i've been working on extensive character personality and subtextual implications studies and RP practice in preparation for this. for fun. help me

anyway, if everything pans out and i don't can or rethink either of these fics, they'll both be canon-typical age-rating adventures (but still more intense in other ways) that i think so far have a good mix of drama, action, fluff, and humor if i do say so myself:

one, about an established juliana x nemona dynamic in the postgame as they meet brand-new characters and challenges together with their friends, that fleshes out juliana more as a character in her own right (or at least one possible take on her)

and the other, an alternate timeline of the main story where a different kid moves in next door and everything else goes off-script from there, because the only way juliana/florian isn't the most important person on earth to nemona is if they never met

Also I didn’t really know how to write the second part (after the line) so that part was rushed and not as well-written as the first part was.              This week was graduation week. All my seniors were overjoyed at the fact they were finally graduating. Several graduation parties were being held right before the last day of school since final exams had just ended. I was of course happy too, I could finally be a senior myself and I was soon going to be a year closer to graduating. But a part of me just really wasn’t happy as well. The thought of all my friends leaving me behind didn’t sit right with me. I was the youngest in my friend group. Nemona, Penny, and Arven. They were all a year above me. The reason we became friends was well, I don’t really actually even remember. That’s not the point here though. The point is that all my close friends would be leaving me, I could deal with it during class since there were a few people in my class who I had taken a liking too and was able to be their partners during projects. But outside of class I relied on them. It made me anxious to even think about being all alone again. I didn’t know what to do. I stared at the clock it was almost time for class. Had I really been awake from 11pm all the way till 6am? I usually fell asleep easily thinking about all sorts of things. It was easy for me to fall asleep; in fact I enjoyed it, being able to close your eyes and not have to worry about anything.

             I dragged my feet into class, the day was spent mainly fooling around, playing bored games, etc. Nothing really interesting. I dozed of majority of the time, or just listened to my classmates talking about what they were going to do during summer break and how we all should meet up. If you ask me the idea wasn’t bad, but I’d rather sleep in.

              I opened my eyes as I heard the bell ring for break. I hurriedly got up from my seat and rushed over to the area me and my friends usually sat at. I waited for a bit. And waited some more. . . .It didn’t seem like they were coming, they were probably on that field trip they were talking about. Apparently they were going today morning I think and are coming back on the last day of school. Must be nice. I got up from the place I was sitting at and walked around while eating my lunch. I settled for sitting in a corner and just watch the younger students run around and play tag until the bell rang.

             The rest of the day was pretty boring just going around from class to class and listening to student’s gossip. Eventually though I had arts. The teacher had requested us to draw something that came from our hearts. Whatever that meant. I stared at the blank sheet of paper I had gotten and thought of what I could even draw. Before I even knew it I started drawing, a boy I think. I couldn’t really tell yet. I was simply just drawing what I felt like I should. All of a sudden I stared back down at the paper and saw a boy, or maybe it was a girl? The hair seemed familiar almost too familiar. My cheeks felt hot as I realized who I started drawing, I crumpled up the drawing and threw it away. Screw my brain. I only had 10 more minutes to draw something. I eventually grabbed another paper and quickly sketched out an Umbreon and Espeon and handed it.

             I walked out of class and walked to my dorm, oh my Arecus was I lonely. I should probably try and make some friends in my grade next year. I fiddled with the keys to my dorm and walked inside closing the door behind me. I took off my shoes and crawled onto my bed. I stared at the wall and my stomach was making funny knots. It didn’t hurt but it sure didn’t feel good either. I thought I was having a stomach ache or something of that sort but it didn’t feel the same. This either happened from the thought of being lonely or whatever I was doing in art class. I turned around I threw my head into my pillow before I felt my phone vibrating. I groaned as I opened it. It was from the gc with me and my friends. They had apparently been messaging in there for like what 10 minutes now? I don’t know how I just realized. I opened the gc and scanned over the messages.

               Weren’t they all in the same place? Why were they communicating in a group chat.. I stared at the messages. I didn’t really know what to say and you were too tired to even reply back. But it was obvious I had read it by now so I quickly typed a quick good night to the group chat and set my phone aside, not bothering to see what they had said afterwards.

             I changed out of my uniform and into something else and jumped onto my bed as I closed my eyes. But same thing as last night, I couldn’t sleep. I found myself wanting to cry at the thought of being lonely again. I didn’t want to be alone, or for them to go, I really loved them. I loved how energetic Nemona could be, I admired her for that. I also really loved Penny and how sweet she could be underneath all that ice. I especially loved Arven, I couldn’t really pinpoint why but I knew I did. Just thinking of him made my heart flutter. At some point I started crying into my pillow, it was just too much for me to handle at the time.

             The whole week had passed with the same schedule. Today they were finally graduating and you’d be a senior. The morning half of your classes was some-what fun, I wish I could enjoy it as much as my classmates had been. I hated the thought of being alone, but I had to accept it. The bell rang and I got up, your vision was blurry, though there weren’t any tears in it and my chest started hurting. Everything felt un-real. Maybe I was being dramatic. I got up from my seat as the bell rang. I was walking to the table me and my friends usually sat at. My walking came to a halt and I turned around. I can’t really explain what came over me but I really didn’t wanna see them right now. I was sort of starting to regret walking away but I couldn’t help it, I just needed some space at the moment.

             The rest of the day passed by fairly quickly, I was just lying down on my bed while watching tv till all of a sudden my phone started vibrating. I hurriedly reached for it and checked it. It was a message from Arven.

“Hey buddy where you at?”

“At my dorm, why?”

“Aren’t you gonna come orr”

“Oh Yea ok I’ll be down there give me a minute”

             You changed into one of your outfits and put on your shoes and ran out of your dorm closing the door behind you. You went outside and started searching for your friends. You found them eventually standing near a fountain, talking.

“Hey”

“Hi”

“Hey Y/n!”

“Hey buddy”

             We all stared at each other awkwardly in silence till Nemona spoke up.

“I’m just gonna get some food be right back”

“I’ll go with you wait” Nemona ran off with Penny trailing behind.

“So…where were you all day?”

“I was just walking around, kinda forgot you all came back from your trip today sorry”

“Oh, I wanted to give you something”

“Hm?”

             Arven grabbed something from his backpack and handed it to me. It was a…a pokeball? A cherish one to be exact. I grabbed the pokeball and examined it carefully.

“Go ahead, open it”

“Oh, there’s something inside?”

“Y/n…it’s a pokeball…why would I give you an empty one…”

“Oh.”

             I threw the pokeball out excited to see what pokemon was inside. It was a… an applin? I looked back at him, his face was a light read color and I looked back at the applin. I examined a bit more till it finally hit me. My face was burning and I was sure he could feel the heat radiating off of me by now.

“You love me?” Why am I so stupid? Of course that’s why he gave me an applin, there’s no other explanation! I’m from Galar, and he just came back from a trip to Galar!

“Yea, I totally get if you don’t feel the same wa-“

             I cut him off by placing a kiss on his cheek. “I love you too! I never would have thought you liked me back..I guess that’s why I ignored you guys when you all came back, I couldn’t stand seeing you all at the time…I especially couldn’t see you, my chest felt tight whenever I even thought of you leaving so I just avoided you all, I’m so-“I was cut off by him placing a kiss on my face and pulling away.

“You talk too much sometimes, you know? I already knew that you idiot! And, I’ll never leave you, so come on let’s go find those two.” He said grabbing my hand to go search for Penny and Nemona together.

“Aww~” Nemona cooed her appreciation. Penny didn't always think to offer stuff like that, so Nemona was grateful to be pleasantly surprised in this case. She felt compelled to reach out, grab Penny's opposing arm, and squeeze her friend against her side affectionately. “Thanks, bestie, that's really sweet of you!”

Penny she sure looked bashful at the gesture, in a good way (probably?).

“Aheh, 'B-Bestie'... ?” Penny puffed a laugh that Nemona didn't understand how to read.

And suddenly, after this recent incident, Nemona was strangely self-aware and nervous about whether she was reading Penny correctly or not.

“Wh-... Like, yea, 'Bestie', you-... ” Nemona cleared her throat, one hand on her elbow, the other tugging at a stray lock of her ponytail. “We've really been hanging out a lot lately, and... -”

“I thought a certain Champion was your 'Bestie?'” Penny theorized, flashing Nemona a raised brow. But it came with a smile. And Nemona felt sure enough she understood Penny's body language to at least tell that Penny was happy to have been associated with the title. But then that playfulness waned a little, and Penny added, “Your 'Rival for Life' and everything... right?”

Something about Penny's expression, the way her hands were fidgeting together, and the tone of her voice... Was she jealous? But, that didn't make any sense – Penny didn't have a specific interest in Pokémon battling, she only did it for practical reasons, like self-defense and stuff. Why would she be jealous of Nemona's Rival? “I mean,” Penny added, when Nemona non-responsive, “I know how excited you get about seeing them. It's been that way since the beginning, eh? So... I'd think they're your Bestie...” 'Noooo, I don't like this! I don't like seeing her sad like this! She's underselling herself again.'

“I-... I can have multiple 'Besties,'” Nemona defended, but found herself spitting out the additional, “but, like, you have spent way more time with me these days...” She nudged her hip against Penny's side as she did so. And again like that Bide move - storing its energy before smacking you upside the head - Nemona was coming to the realization of this fact as she said the words aloud. Two years or so back, when they'd first become Amigas Oficiales, they only ever hung out when it was with Nemona's Rival. And then, slowly, they'd start hanging out here and there, just the two of them, always because Nemona would pine for someone familiar, who understood her and her, well, quirks. By the time Nemona graduated, she realized Penny had been one of the top people she wanted there to witness it, right alongside her Rival, her family, and even Arven. By the summer they'd just experienced, though, they were hanging out practically every day, especially on the weekends.

Nemona had spent way more time with Penny, in total, than she ever had with her Rival. Confronted with this realization was throwing her for a loop – she'd always been so certain that battling was the end-all-be-all, the pinnacle of what any kind of relationship could be for her. But Penny was making her question that seemingly ultimate truth, and it was kind of frightening...

“And you,” Penny retorted, stiffly bumping her hip into Nemona's thigh, “have been spending way less time battling Pokémon these days...”

“H-Have I? You think?” Nemona tapped at her cheek sheepishly as she wondered if that was really true. Was she slipping? Losing her edge? Abandoning battling, her number one love?

She had been dedicating a lot of time to training, exercise... Going out on hikes and some camping trips, always... with Penny... The past summer in particular really had seen a huge spike in the time they'd spent together, huh? And when she was hanging out with Penny, Nemona had less reasons to be battling Pokémon, since Penny wasn't specifically into that. She'd still spectate and all when Nemona would inevitably lock eyes with a passersby – because, of course you knew what happened when Nemona's gaze met a strangers out on the road... (Battles, jeje.)

had an idea for an AU I'll probably not draw for a long time, but the idea is...

what if the zero crew + team star were Phantom Thieves (basically a Persona 5 AU set in Paldea with our fellow Paldean pals)

this round of Phantom Thieves consists of (and their niches in battle): Sophie (OC) - wildcard but starting Persona has psychokinesis skills Alena (OC) - curse + insta kill mudo skills, best source for critical hits for enemies without weakness (also temporary navigator until Penny joins) Nemona - electric skills, strong physical attacks, learns auto counter skills Arven - ice skills, healer, defense buffs and skills to deflect attacks Penny - navigator and battle support (duh) Giacomo - wind skills, enemy debuffs, single target healing spells Mela - fire skills (duh), strong physical attacker, buff attack skills for allies Atticus - nuclear skills, best gun damage, skills to inflict status aliments on foes and heal status aliments on allies Ortega - bless + insta kill hama skills, best healer (like samarecarm and salvation) Eri - almighty skills, foe debuffs, party buffs (notably heat riser) (I haven't fully figured out their Personas, codenames, confidant arcanas or choice of guns and weapons yet though)

some additional notes: - party joins in this order: Sophie (protagonist), Alena, Arven, Giacomo, Nemona, Atticus and Penny (they join at the same time), Mela, Ortega, Eri - Alena is a Floragato like creature in the Metaverse but a Sprigatito in the real world (but she thoroughly denies she's a Pokemon, though in her defence, she cannot evolve in the traditional sense or learn Pokemon attacks), and much like Morgana, you can only understand her if you heard her speaking in the Metaverse - Team Star never formed in this AU but their outfits appear as Phantom Thief outfits (paired with masks); so Giacomo knows Mela, Atticus knows Penny, and Ortega knows Eri but that's it - Harrington is the principal instead of the former director, and Clavell is the vice principal instead of the director (but becomes principal eventually) - Sada and Turo haven't split up, but they still prioritize work over Arven, so he's living under Clavell's care - not sure about other confidants but none of them (except Nemona) can be romanced (cause even here, I'm gonna spread my OC X Canon SophiNemo propaganda and you cannot stop me) - only two prevalent ships are SophiNemo and Attipen - the original Phantom Thieves (Joker and co, Morgana included) probably might cameo as students but they're not Phantom Thieves in this AU - species aren't restricted to anthro dogs in this AU

what do you think of arven, nemona, and penny from pokemon scarlet and violet compared to shauna, tierno, and Trevor from pokemon X and Y?

Honestly Arven, Nemona, and Penny are muuucchh much better than the trio from Kalos. TBH (and no hate here) I really didnt care for Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor, honestly if anything the last two are pretty forgettable, and as much as I tried to forget about Shauna, I cant. Shauna annoyed me to no end and I really hated all interactions I had with her and would loudly groan every time I saw her. However, I love Selena/Calem! They were great, but I guess since they are the MCs they dont really count in this question. As far as the SV trio goes I enjoy them, and I enjoyed their stories and interacting with them. Arven- Love him. Adore him. I would fight all of Paldea for him. He deserves good things and to be HAPPY DAMN IT 😤 Nemona- dont really like nor dislike her. I dont think she's bad by any means but I do think her obsession with battling you is........a bit off putting 😅I totally get why she's like that, and thats just her character, but given that Gus (my trainersona and who I play as in the games) is not much on battling, well you can see why im a bit 'eehh' about her. Penny- Oddly enough I really would have thought thatd like her more but.. Im kind of indifferent about her. Again I dont dislike nor love her, I think shes a good character for the game and her role. Tho as my husband put it "No one likes looking in a mirror" and he's probably right 😂
