Even though I love the headcanon of Snape drinking pitch black tea with no sugar, I think he's a builder's brew type of guy. Given his lower class background, it's quite possible that in his house the only tea available was a very strong, cheap black tea that had to be sweetened with lots of sugar and milk to give it a little bit of taste, and that he got so accustomed to the flavour he kept drinking it this way in his adult years. So to summarize, Our boi is powered by spite and a cuppa builder's tea.

What consumes me daily is the thought of young Severus being courted by some love sick ravenclaw dude, who thinks he is the most handsome boy he’s ever seen in his life. 

and Severus is not feeling it, he doesn't understand it -- but the ravenclaws tokens of love are just to grand and sweet for Severus to ignore it for long. Slowly Severus finds himself losing focus on everything and only has focus on his boyfriend and his studies. 

he’s just surrounded by love and his boyfriend introduces him to his own friends, [Severus classmates who Severus was never able to talk too] who also see Severus’ value and his days fill with more light and colour as he just enjoys the teenage years as he should have, surrounded by people who love and support him.

and now since he has his support system he doesn't go down the death eater path as the war gets further from his mind and he can only see his now bright future with his friends who think the world of him -- he now doesn't feel afraid of leaving Hogwarts, as he thinks he has no options, because they wont let him fall

Snape is brave and resilient but he doesn't need to be praised for putting others' needs first. He doesn't need to face his worst fears in order to be perceived as capable. He shouldn't be praised to be compliant and obliging when he doesn't react to figures of authority utterly disrespecting him. He doesn't need to be patted on the back for how well he takes a hit. He doesn't need to lick his emotional wounds in private to show he is strong in public.

He is exhausted.

He needs softness. He needs ease. He needs reassuring words and to be able to live a slow-paced life where his feelings, good and bad, are valid. A kind of life where he can take time for himself instead of putting himself last. Most of all, he needs to be respected for the sake of being respected, and not because he is useful to a purpose or yielding. He deserves it ❤️

I've noticed something about Snape—one of his biggest red lines, the thing that truly pushes him to his limit, is when someone's life is in danger.

In those moments, he becomes the most vulnerable version of himself. He forgets everything—every grudge, every precaution, every defense mechanism—and his only focus is getting people out of harm's way, no matter the cost.

So vulnerable that hearing about Ginny Weasley's kidnapping forces him to lean on the back of a chair. So vulnerable and unguarded that while saving Harry from Quirrell’s curse, an eleven-year-old sets him on fire. So vulnerable that, in his attempt to manage the chaos of the Shrieking Shack—with children, a werewolf, and a supposed murderer—he’s disarmed by 13-year-olds. He's so reckless that he makes an Unbreakable Vow for Draco. So reckless that he chases a werewolf, without Wolfsbane, under the full moon near sunset. So reckless that he ventures into the Forbidden Forest to find lost children. So reckless that he roams the hallways in the middle of the night, in his nightgown, chasing the sound of a scream. So reckless that, as a Death Eater, he risks everything to warn the leader of the opposite side about Voldemort's plans to kill the Potters—and is willing to give anything to save them. He's so ungrudging that he carefully carries an unconscious Sirius Black. So ungrudging that when Black is captured, he checks on him immediately and alerts the Order of the Phoenix. So ungrudging that he risks his cover to save Lupin.

And I think these moments say so much about his humanity—things the books never fully explain.

Snape is definitely that one person who just drops the most unhinged traumatic lore randomly in conversations as if they were normal things

Like one time he and Rolanda Hooch ended up making face ice baths to see who'd last longer and he won (no small feat because a picture Rolanda Hooch is under the dictionary definitions of competitive and stubborn) and he casually went "yeah, it was easy, my old man sometimes held me under water if there was enough rain in the buckets under the holes in the ceiling when he was mad at me" and everyone else was like "wait what the fuck did you just say??!" and he just. continued to ask what was for lunch

Or the time poppy Pomfrey got mad because he had burns on his hand and didn't bother telling her and he was like "it's nothing, my old man would sometimes stub his cigarettes out on me" and she just stared at him because what do you even say to that?!

Or when he refuses to go out if the others are planning to drink because "I've had my fill of dealing with pissed adults, I'm not risking a broken rib because one of you decided to throw a bottle at me" and they're like "h-how do you even think that, what the fuck happened to you?"
