If I had a nickel for every time I've gotten a fictive of an adoptive son I took care of in a past life as a masculine anthro furry creature, I'd somehow have two nickels now and I couldn't be happier that it happened twice. Shoutout to Gregory and Shuanshuan I love you both so much. We'll probably never have kids physically so it's wonderful to have them both at my side again

exomemory sludge. this shift is driving me batty. I'm struggling to beat the stupid fucking final boss so I can't see the canon end to my story and compare it with my memories, and I'm too damn stubborn to just look up a video. I feel like I'm suffocating. There's so much I want to talk about but I'm too terrified. We ended up more conditioned not to talk about exomemories than we thought. It hurts like a pit in our chest.
I just have to have patience.

Hi! We're a DID system that is both traumagenic and endogenic - that is, different members of the system have different origins - and we thought our perspective might prove useful! We're not diagnosed because we're in a very rural area and have been fighting to get a specialist that's even willing to look at us for ADHD, nevermind something more complex.
I realized while typing this out that i was answering everything paragraph style before even getting to the questions, so I hope this format is okay haha. I should have covered everything
We formed many different ways! If you mean originally though, we're not 100% sure. We've been showing signs of a plural identity since maybe our early tweens or a bit before - our current theory is our original plurality stemmed from autistic masking. One to interact and mask and socialize, and one to pull into ourself and be more objective/literal and analytical. And then things branched out from there? We don't consider it traumagenic because those early memories of our masking self don't bring trauma responses nor are they "bad" to us. In fact they're tied to many good memories. It's more... A result of a simple instinct of separation to us. It feels very much tied to our autism. (which actually is diagnosed lol)
As for other ways we have had members form: hyperempathy & intense connection with a character will often bring them around in our head (it's almost funny how many times some fictional character we cared about has died and then a fictive showed right up of them). Another way is intentionally via what is considered spirit work, as mentioned as an exception to DID in the DSM-5. Another way is tulpamancy, a process of willfully training an independent thought process to sentience by repeated interaction with it. It has spiritual etymology but is a psychological process that was rather separate from the rest of the plural community until recently. If you want a scientific resource on tulpamancy, here's a video on a recent study performed by Dr. Michael Lifshitz, an assistant professor working in the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill University.
We have traumagenic members too, of course - our trauma built to the point of fracture later in life, so we noticed the transition from functional to dysfunctional as dissociative symptoms entered our life and built up gradually. We used to have such good communication, now the pool of people we can summon depends on so many factors and sometimes feels random. We used to have control of our headspace and not exploding in member count, but now both are insanely large and complex. We didn't used to get disruptive dissociation, memory loss, loss of sense of self, etc, but post the metaphorical straw breaking the back, now we definitely do. We've been able to manage it in many ways and have found a lot of helpful tips spread out across the various plural communities. Honestly I really don't think we would be able to share front or I would be able to let go of the body at all willingly if not for the guides I read whilst doing tulpamancy.
As for resources we can't access, well honestly it's mostly... petrifying fear of the psychiatric system. Despite the issues we've had plurality has saved our life/ves and we're terrified that if we divulge our non-normative presentation and non-trauma-formed members, we'll be denied care, forced into something unhealthy, or armchair labeled with another disorder the doctor doesn't even specialize in. We've had to do all our healing on our own because we don't want to conform, which is what we probably have to do if we want to stay ourselves.
The biggest difference we find between ourselves and other OSDDID systems... I mean there are a few glaring ones. We've chosen to create headmates, we believe to be contacting spirits for some of them, we believe we didn't start out traumagenic, many of us have a very strong sense of identity/self, we have no "collective identity" that even vaguely fits all of us... But honestly? Even among accepting spaces, the biggest and weirdest difference we see is the lack of the idea that you can learn to control front/co-con to an extent. Yes, it's a long and arduous practice, but it's so so worth it! I see so many other disordered systems lament over having no control over front or communication and I just want to send them guides from created systems because they're honestly how we kept stable and grounded when we got a Lot Worse!! Mental work is one of those things that you do over and over and you don't think it's working until it does, and it makes it easy to think that trying again is hopeless. But we can facilitate our own healing! There also seems to be a running concept that switching more always means something bad? But we've honestly found the opposite - having a lot of people coming and going whilst still remaining grounded makes us feel invigorated and helps keep our other mental issues at bay. We engage in more hobbies, feel the desire to do more things, view the world from different perspectives - it really gives us the stimulation we need.
As a small ending tidbit for the last one, many people experienced their trauma after their system creation, or they know where their system came from and it was something different than the traumatic event. Personally we just tell the difference by objective evidence. What were the circumstances around the new member showing up? Was there anything negative or triggering that just happened? What role does this member fill in our life, if any? Plus, if we intentionally created a headmate via psychological or spiritual methods, then we know what happened because we're the ones that put in the intent and all.
Anyways I hope this helps! Thank you so much for reaching out and listening to other plurals. If you have any questions please feel free to reblog or DM us!
Hi! My name's Rowan. I'm the host of The Orchard System, A traumagenic DID system. I'm posting to address endogenic systems and ask a couple genuine questions. None of these are intended to cause offense or in any way discriminate against any group of people.
How did you form (scientifically)?
Why did you form?
Do you consider yourself disordered?
Do you have similar symptoms to systems with OSDDID, such as dissociation, memory loss, loss of sense of self, etc.?
How do your alters/headmates develop? What do they develop due to?
I've seen this going around: What are some resources that would help you that you don't have access to?
Are there any other substantial differences you have noticed between yourself/yourselves and OSDDID systems?
And, lastly, if you don't mind (I put this one at the bottom because it is 100% optional) if you are traumatized but not traumagenic, how does that work?
okay thanks byeeeeeeee

Introducing the facets of the Prism subsystem!
[pt: Introducing the facets of the Prism Subsystem!]
We've referred to ourselves collectively for so long because the times we end up blurry or rapidly switching makes it hard to establish hard lines between us. But we still don't want to be seen as singular, so we thought we'd craft intros! We'll keep this one updated.
Last updated by: Ocean [June 27 2025]
Tumblr media
🌌 General information 🌌
🌕 Collective name: Prism / The Prism, Parallel
🌕 Collective pronouns: lu/lun, they/them, ona {More on names, pronouns, etc organized!}
🌕 We are a median subsystem! We're all spiritually alterhuman as well. We consider ourselves to share a soul.
🌕 We are a monoconscious subsystem! We aren't really able to communicate between ourselves. Switching feels more like shapeshifting, but by changing fundamental aspects about ourself/ves.
🌕 We are collectively frontstuck. The closest we can get to leaving front is a tuned-out, almost half-asleep state while members not in the subsystem use the body. However, we can enter headspace to an extent via meditation! We share a mindform that changes appearance depending on facet.
🌕 Our three most likely origins include autistic masking, spiritual alterhumanity, and regular old complex trauma
🌕 We use "we" and "I" both pretty fluidly, since not only are we all connected facets, but we share the same point of awareness due to our monoconscious structure.
🌕 We collectively identify as greysexual demiromantic, but that varies significantly depending on the member! Gender isn't really a factor to us in attraction, and we are all aspec. Most of us consider studial attraction our main form of attraction.
🌕 As for our own gender, the body is transneu, most likely intersex, and we all identify at least partially with the moon, stars, & ocean - but gender specifics vary between members. We're also pretty collectively lunaeflux ! Here's a full gender hoard if you're curious! Species-wise, we collectively identify as a shapeshifter and a changeling, and most of the time a Lunar Elf.
🌕 We're collectively a Chaos witch, and while all of us believe in one way or another, some of us practice in outerworld more than others.
🌌 Meet the Prism's facets! 🌌
Tumblr media
Intros will be written in the third person by another facet until the facet themselves is able to fill it out in the first person. Links on the names are to images of us we've drawn!
Organized roughly by who's around most often!
💜 Moth - they/it - #moth.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (moth)] - I'm the one that typed all that out so I guess I'll put myself first ^^ I'm uhh a moth idk. We have a few past lives where we were a moth so I'm an amalgamation of all that, and I also tend to front when we're low energy or need to take a rest. I'm usually around at night and I gravitate toward the color purple. I'm greysexual and demiromanticflux, I think
🌘 Lucis - lu/lun, ou/oun, they/them - #lucis.prism.moonpool [previously prism subsys (lucis)] - Hi, I'm a moon elf that comes around pretty often to hyperfixate/enthuse about special inerests, manage relationships, and do most outerworld magic. I can be a bit of an anxiety holder but that's okay- I'm also the system-manageriest of all of us, so I try to stay aware of and record as much as possible about us. Ask me about our past lives!
🌊 Ocean - they/it, xe/xim, sea/seas - #ocean.prism.moonpool - Helloo, I'm a deepsea creature that separated off from Lucis. I love the water more than anything and I like to think I'm more grounded and productive? I've been here a lot more lately, so I might have something to do with self care. Happy to exist
🦠 Patience - any/it, ey/em/eir - #patience.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (Patience)] - Hello, I'm a recent facet that's here to help stabilize the system's expectations and needs in the face of reality. I took the mindform of Yi from Nine Sols, but I'm not a fictive of him. I try to bring us back to neutral by talking us down and appreciating little things rather than hoping for larger change. It's nice to meet you.
🏔️ Madeline - she/it/they - #Madeline.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (madeline)] - A fictive from Celeste that fronts when we're higher energy - confident, stubborn, and always eager to do things & move forward. One of the most grounded in doing things for ourselves in outerworld, but doesn't show up very often.
💀 Minato - they/them, it/its, lu/lun, ona - #minato.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (minato)] - I'm... I don't even know how to describe my species, I'm the Sea of the Soul in a human body. But I digress. I'm a Minato Arisato (Persona 5) fictive, and the Prism's holder for melancholy and other morbid emotions. I'm asexual and demiromantic. I like to think I'm more confident in myself than facets like Lucis and Eclipse. Each life is precious and short. Memento Mori.
🏹 Link - fae/faer, they/he - #Link.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (link)] - I'm a Link/Hylian fictive that tries to find a balance between helping out others and staying grounded. I like to spend time outside and exist where I am, and I feel drawn toward nature magick. I like talking about my fictive & otherkin canons, Hylian & Sheikah lore & mythos, archery. I get sub-shifts depending on which life I'm feeling most like at the time, it's complicated but still me. I'm halfway between an exotrauma/phoenitrauma holder and a current-trauma holder.
🫧 Soap - it/its - #soap.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (soap)] - a recently formed facet and the first time we haven't at least halfway introjected in a long time. cheerful and sweet but susceptible to RSD symptoms.
🗡️ Aeber - they/them, lu/lun, ou/oun - #aeber.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (aeber)] - An amalgam of a few different "thief archetype" past lives, distrusting and quiet. Willing to go farther than most of us to take care of what needs to be done, but pushes outsiders away because of it. Keeps an extremely small close circle only ou trusts.
💗 Nora - he/her -#nora.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (nora)] - A nervous yet socialable facet that takes the form of a transfem Nora Universe (SU) fictive. Equal parts passionate and uncertain, struggles to get a grasp on her identity and cares deeply for others. Good at socializing and masking.
🃏 Akira - ae/aer, he/him, they/them - #akira.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (akira)] - Heya, I'm a Joker fictive and I've been here since we started advocating for ourselves in high school. I keep us grounded and try to appreciate the little things, like making good food and sitting outside in nice weather. I'm pretty good at shopping and cooking. There's another Akira here that we're median with, but he's outside the Prism so it's pretty funny when we end up talking to each other. If I could front when I wanted I'd be cooking all our meals with him
🐍 Naga/Nagisa/Nagi - he/any (other than she) - #naga.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (naga)] - A facet that is a fictive of Nagisa Shiota from Assassination Classroom. Very good at masking, but to his detriment as he has trouble expressing himself. He's also a subsystem gender dysphoria holder.
🐾 Kitter / "Kit" - it/its, kit/kits, crit/critts - #kit.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (kit)] - A fluffy creature with white fur & grey skin, akin to an anthropomorphic felid or canid. (y'know how ferrets or foxes feel like a combination of both? yeah that) It's semiverbal and fronts when we're low energy, overwhelmed, or feeling safe enough to completely relax. It likes being around people, soft textures, and nice music.
🌑 Eclipse - they/it - #eclipse.moonpool or #eclipse.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (eclipse)] - Some sort of living shadow being, paranoia holder & handler of meltdowns, as well as an OCD holder. Caring & dedicated, sticks to its beliefs.
🔫 Cans - she/they, fae/faer - #cans.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (cans)] - An excitable Inkling that fronts when we're feeling bodily energetic, which is a rarity! Loves physical activities, art with vivid colors, and vintage (read: 80s-90s aesthetics) clothing. Very loudly alloaro
🌕 Rei - he/him, they/them, lu/lun - #rei.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (rei)] - A Rei Kon (Beyblade) fictive that has a very grounded, specifically masculine iteration of our lunar identity. Either tigerkin or tigerhearted? Physically active but knows how to pace himself. Really mentally stable but very hard to get in front
🍬 Bonnie - they/her - #bonnie.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (bonnie)] - A Princess Bubblegum fictive and very recent member! Blunt & principled, fascinated by magic and calls it "science we don't understand yet". Friendly and confident, but easily offended.
🪡 Hornet - xe/xer, sxe/hxr - #hornet.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (hornet)] - A confident and bright facet that's a fictive from Hollow Knight. Sxe isn't sure how long sxe's existed due to believing hxrself to be only a kin shift for a long time. She enjoys video games and their lore, philosophy, martial arts, and more.
✨ Twilight - she/they - #twilight.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (twilight)] - I'm a twilight sparkle fictive!! I love research, spending time with my friends, magic & metaphysics, organizing things, and more! I don't know how long I've been here, I've thought I was only a kin shift for so long. I have a lot of exomemories that mostly line up with canon so feel free to ask things!
🎲 Ouma - they/he/it/any - #.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (ouma)] - A Kokichi Ouma fictive that channels the desire to talk about our exotrauma and a blatant disdain toward common social structure. Flips between wanting everyone to listen to him and paranoia over rejection. A good few of us are exotrauma/phoenitrauma holders but he's most prominent
🪽 Emily/Em - E/Em, it/they/she - #em.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (em)] - A Seraph and Eclipse's parallel opposite; dedicated & caring, always trying to help others; a paranoia & OCD holder. Compassionate and tries hard to be likeable.
📻 Croissant/Rabbit - they/them, she/him - #rabbit.prism.moonpool [previously #prism subsys (rabbit)] - WAHAHAHA I FINALLY EXIST AGAIN - I mean uh. Ahem. Hiiii I'm a multifictive of Croissant cookie from CROB (original timeline) and a rlly obscure character from the Rabbits podcast. I come around when we're feeling relaxed & methodical or really into time travel stuff. I like theoretical physics, applied metaphysics, chaos theory, things like that! I think too much about time loops that's probably why I haven't been here in ages
💥 Shannon - she/it - #prism subsys (Shannon) - A fragment that turned into a facet, excitable and has no filter. Hasn't shown up since first registering and we're starting to wonder if she still even exists ngl
Unorganised:
🌕 Moonlight - lu/lun - #moonlight.prism.moonpool
🌈 Parallel - they/them - #parallel.prism.moonpool
❄️ Snowy - they/it - #snowy.prism.moonpool
🍃 Willow - fae/faer - #willow.prism.moonpool
