Lando Norris HC's
Tumblr media
I'm burnt out and exhausted and I just want someone to love me haha
Masterlist
Lando
Where to begin?
He's... something else
Don't get me wrong, he's amazing
What's not to love?
High performance athlete who also streams on Twitch
Every bit the golden retriever boyfriend everybody wanted
Every bit the golden retriever boyfriend Y/N got
This man? Attention WHORE
He doesn't stop
Comes out with the weirdest stuff
It's so much fun
Wants his girlfriend with him for race weekends
Because he hates going a long time without pissing her off
Very important that his girlfriend gets along with Carlos
She's there when they're pissing about
During their McLaren days?
Mayhem
You kind of have a love every minute of it if you're dating Lando
Sitting in while he streams sometimes
Not every time
But being in the room, doing something while he streamed
Y/N could be doing her own work while Lando gamed and streamed
Chief cuddler
But can't sit still long enough for them to properly cuddle
Loves getting his hair played with
Oooooo running your fingers through Lando Norris' hair? Literally can't imagine anything better
Stealing hats and hoodies purely because they smell like him
Lando loves snogging
Kissing by lamp light, hands on her hips, grip almost bruising
Or his hands would be on her face, pushing away her hair
Man loves marking up
Marking up his girl and being marked up
Aka, hand prints, hickies, scratches down his back
Lando loved that the most
Feeling her nails raking down the skin of his back
Plus, it was easy to hide
Unless he was participating in an ice bath
Then he'd mark her up twice as good, since she couldn't leave marks on him
Out in the club, Lando is very touchy
Aka, doesn't let go of her
Holding her hand
Holding her hips or her ass as they danced
Y/N becoming one of the more photographed WAG's
Simply because she didn't want to stay hidden
She wanted the world to see her with Lando
She wanted the world to know how much she loved her man
After a race, when Lando was in the top three, he'd climb of the car, wave to the crowd, run over to the McLaren team at the barriers to celebrate
And then he'd pull Y/N against the barrier and she'd kiss his helmet, where she'd think his lips would be
Holidays with Lando!!
Oh my god, literally the best
Fancy hotels and Yachts
Adventuring together
Holidaying with other drivers
There was one particular holiday
It was very spontaneous, they hadn't booked anything
Just hopped off a plane and off they went
To the Canary Islands
It was difficult to get a hotel
When they landed, they could only get one
It was... hell
Kids everywhere, booming music like baby shark playing around the pool all day
It was all inclusive, with drunk, neglectful parents spending every minute getting burnt on the sun loungers or around the buffet
Y/N and Lando found themselves as far away from the pool and buffet as they possibly could
Y/N would be reading her book as Lando did... something
When parents came and took their kids for dinner, they got a break from it
They could go in the pool without kids swimming into them
The hotel had crazy golf
Happy Lando
Happy Lando dragging Y/N around the crazy golf course, giggling like a child
Driving with Lando
Ugh, simply the best
Driving around Monaco in the Fiat Jolly (before he sold it) with his hand on her thigh
Driving in any vehicle with Lando's hand on her thigh
Hitting every red light
Kissing at the stop signs (darling)
Lando belting out the lyrics to any song that comes on
Having a car playlist so that the both of them could sing along
Going to Lando's parents for Christmas
Traditional British Christmas
Aka, roast dinner, pulling crackers, drinking, playing board games and ending the night with a cheese board
Taking his girlfriend around Guildford while they're in the UK
(I'm pretty sure it's Guildford - a youtube video from five years ago just popped up which said Guildford)
(Guildford is the halfway point between where I live now and where I actually live)
After a year and a half, Lando asks her to move in with him
Six months after that, they get a dog
A Doberman, collie, or golden retriever, I think
The name? Badger
Why? Daniel
Aka, Daniel knew the couple were going to adopt a dog
He had to get himself involved somehow and
He placed a wager - if Lando finished below P5 he'd get to name the dog
Y/N readily accepted
Lando DNFed that race
And so, the dog was named after the honey badger himself
To this day, Lando doesn't know
Lando is such a good dog dad
The dog doesn't come to the race weekends like Roscoe does with Lewis
Either Y/N stays home or the dog stays with a trusted friend if they had both gone
Lando's social media becomes a fan account for the dog
Having oh so many pregnancy scares with this man
Who doesn't love a late night run to the shop to get a pregnancy test or two?
They do eventually get pregnant
Y/N finds out on a race weekend
She was at home with Badger when she saw the pregnancy test in her bathroom cabinet
Video calling her best friend, Y/N took it
She waited the mandatory couple of minutes before she checked the little stick
She had to hang up on her friend
It was just meant to be for fun
Nothing serious
But then it turned serious
What the fuck was she going to do?
When the fuck would she tell Lando?
Should she tell him now, before he's about to go and race?
Yeah no, not a chance
Not with how much she was currently freaking out
She waits until he gets home from the race weekend
The test (and all of the others she'd done) had been thrown in the bin
All she had was herself
This was fine
She wasn't freaking out
(she was freaking out big time)
Y/N stayed up, waiting with Badger for Lando to come home
As soon as the door opened, she jumped up and faced him
Lando dropped his things when he saw her
He'd assumed she'd been asleep when he got in
But no, she was still awake
And he'd been waiting for him
Warmth spread through him
Normally, when Y/N waited up for Lando, she'd jump into his arms
But not this time
No
She just stood there, staring at him
"I've got something to tell you"
Anxiety spread through Lando
Y/N told him
He dropped to his knees
Well, his one knee
For the longest time Lando had been looking for a sign that he should propose
He wanted to, he desperately wanted to
He was just looking for some sort of sign
This wasn't a sign, it was a slap in the face
With all of the racing, Lando hadn't yet managed to buy her a ring
He'd really meant to
When he got down onto one knee, it was at the very back of his mind
"Marry me?"
Yeah, that was how he asked
Of course, Y/N said yes
Lando began running around, looking for some rope or yarn or twine that he could wrap around her finger until he got a proper ring

Global textile players gear up for spring sourcing season at Intertextile Apparel
Tumblr media
As the global exhibition industry bounces back after a period of discontinuity, favorable winds are blowing for China's textile and apparel market. Retail sales of clothing, shoes, hats, and textiles leapt 10.2% year-on-year in 2023, signaling a strong consumer appetite. According to the same source, garment exports are also projected to rebound in 2024, boosting overall economic growth. Amidst these positive indicators, major suppliers have already signed on to participate at the upcoming Spring Edition, to be held from 6 – 8 March 2024 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
With encouraging market signs setting the stage for next year’s show, over 3,000 exhibitors will fill seven halls spanning 190,000 sqm, ensuring a comprehensive showcase of the latest fabrics, yarns, and manufacturing technologies. With major industry players set to showcase products along fashion’s entire value chain, buyers can kick off next year’s trade fair season with abundant international and domestic sourcing opportunities at the global apparel flagship.
Many exhibitors note that Intertextile Apparel's emphasis on attracting quality buyers significantly contributes to its standing as a premier industry event. At the previous Spring Edition, Mr Guang Hao Zheng from R&D Textile, Korea, commented: “We join every edition of Intertextile Apparel because of its broad customer base and exceptional organisation. Our main goal this time was to reach our domestic buyers, especially workwear manufacturers. We also met customers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, and we have already received orders on the first day. After China opened its borders, we saw an increase in customer enquiries, and this is good for our brand recognition.”
At next year’s fair, a blend of suppliers showcasing various textiles, accessories and solutions, and encompassing categories such as sustainable, functional, and premium, will look to take advantage of China’s anticipated market growth. Featured exhibitors include:
Eastman Chemical (China) Co Ltd (USA): operating in more than 100 countries and regions, Eastman is a specialty materials company that produces a broad range of products. At the fair, the company will showcase its circularity through its Naia™ Renew cellulosic fibres.
Erteks Grup Tekstil A.Ş (Türkiye): a renowned weaving and garment manufacturer, Erteks produces a range of premium lace fabrics. At their SalonEurope booth, visitors can expect to source products such as embroidered, guipure and sequin-embellished lace.
FIDLOCK (Germany): showcasing at Accessories Vision, their product range includes hook-and-loop and snap fasteners, designed for various applications such as collars, pockets, belts, and more. FIDLOCK offers innovative magnetic-mechanical fasteners for a range of apparel and textiles, from swimming trunks and fashion garments, to watch straps and motorbike jackets.
Hong Kong Yifang Textile Co Ltd (Hong Kong): specialising in high-end cotton development and production, the company offers value-added knit and woven fabrics, and collaborates extensively with reputable fashion houses including Croquis, Exception, Icicle, JNBY, Marisfrolg, MO&Co., Simple Living, ZUCZUG, and more.
Grasim Industries Ltd (India): known for producing viscose, diversified chemicals, linen yarn, and textiles across India, Grasim - the country's biggest manufacturer of viscose filament yarn (VFY) - will showcase their portfolio comprising viscose, modal, lyocell, and FSC-accredited sustainable fibres.
Liberty Fabric Ltd (UK): Liberty Fabric will be presenting a variety of products, ranging from fine tuned Tana Lawn™ cotton to luxurious silk and lightweight linen fabrics. Their in-house team designs the patterns, which are then printed at their mill in northern Italy, blending both innovative digital technology and traditional techniques.
Exhibitors to welcome wide variety of buyers
With numerous textile suppliers coming together in one place, next year’s show is set to continue attracting high-quality buyers from around the world. In a move set to further increase the show’s internationality, China recently announced that it will offer visa-free entry for business and leisure travellers from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia.
Speaking at the previous edition, Ms Rinoa Zong from Testex (Shanghai) Textile Testing, noted her satisfaction with the quality and diversity of visitors: “Intertextile Apparel is Asia's largest trade fair, with high internationality and a strong industry influence. The organisers did a very good job in gathering professional, high-quality buyers, and there is no other trade fair that can replace this. We were one of the early birds regarding sustainability testing for textiles, and we are ecstatic that more consumers are requesting transparency, resulting in more companies increasing their sustainability efforts.”
As the apparel fair is held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition, Yarn Expo Spring, CHIC and PH Value, the entire textile value chain can be found under one roof, providing an extended platform for business networking opportunities.
The fair is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Textile Information Centre. For more details on this fair, please visit: www.intertextileapparel.com. To find out more about all Messe Frankfurt textile fairs worldwide, please visit: www.texpertise-network.com.
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition will be held from 6 – 8 March 2024.

Wrangler Texas Longhorns - The Ultimate Collegiate Collection
Tumblr media
For its 75th year, Wrangler has returned to school to launch its exclusive collegiate collection with Wrangler Texas Longhorns. Collegiate collections are college-licensed apparel that has somehow found their way into runways and fashion magazines. We are talking about varsity jackets, printed t-shirts, sweatshirts with logos and many more. Comfort wear with a touch of nostalgia, these fashion statements are running headlines and have found a dominating space in closets. You don’t even need to be a university student to wear a collegiate sweatshirt from a university. That is how widespread this fashion line is at the moment.
University of Texas
The historic Wrangler brand has teamed up with Austin’s University of Texas for its launch. They have included the present and former Texas Longhorns athletes, including-
Texas Longhorns Quarterback player Quinn Ewers
Linebacker athlete DeMarvion Overshown
Trey Faltine, who is a baseball player
Swimmers like Casper Corbeau
Lauren Burke and Mary Lakopo, who are softball players
Molly Phillips, Asjia O’Neal and Madisen Skinner- who play volleyball
Apart from them, they have partnered and have bought in multiple campus ambassadors with a strong foothold and network along with students and alumni. With their fame and network, these ambassadors have proven to be essential commodities for Wrangler as they have spread the name of the brand within the college community.
Why Wrangler
Wrangler is a historic brand, so much so that a lot of our first jeans were from Wrangler. All the college students on their first solo shopping trip without parents have bought jeans from Wrangler. Additionally, their products are affordable and customer favourites, making them an approachable brand among universities. Wrangler has worked in close collaboration with Colosseum Athletes, which is a collegiate Manufacturing giant. Colosseum Athletes have over 700 licensed agreements from multiple colleges and universities. They design, create, promote and produce college apparel and collegiate collections.
Wrangler and Marketing
With its historical fame, Wrangler’s intelligent marketing strategies are set to bring a revolution in collegiate fashion. The brand has tapped into sports, a sought-after zone from any college. Many students get into these prestigious colleges and universities via the sports quota. Many of these universities heavily promote sports like rugby, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, swimming, etc. Moreover, over 31 institutions have collaborated with the brand to roll out the Wrangler gear. Tapping into the school spirit with a sports and college collection is a smart way to win students’ hearts and favour. These new styles stay high in fashion during the football season, increasing sales. Apart from the official website, this collegiate collection is available at multiple retailers and online stores.
Conclusion
Wrangler is an iconic brand, along with Texas Longhorns athletes with their positive mindset and amazing approach have made this collaboration popular. Wrangler Texas Longhorns fashion collection spreads from sweatshirts, bucket hats, caps, t-shirts, and many more. These are all the game essentials you will need during the football season or any other sports that you are interested in. These premium quality products are affordable, making them a youth favourite.

1 (header): ‘The Wets and the Drys : A Collection of Bathing Suits — Some for the beach and others for swimming before the camera.’
2 (upper left): ‘When Patricia Avery, the Christie mermaid, goes into deep water she wears the jersey suit at the upper left. The sandals are made of rubber and won’t hold the sand. The bag on her arm is the suit-holder. At the immediate left is Patricia making a dive for publicity. The hat and parasol are woven of raffia. The rest of the outfit explains itself.’
3 (center left): ‘At your left Vera Reynolds is wearing a suit that may be launched in any ocean. It’s a white Bradley with red polka dots here and there. Belt, cap and moccasins are also red and white. It’s a suit made for the most strenuous swimming.’
4 (bottom left): ‘Anita Page (right) dons another Bradley model and dares the surf to do its worst. The suit has gray and light blue checks and is worn with a white fabric belt. Anita prefers a silk handkerchief, tied pirate style, to a rubber cap.’
5 (bottom right): ‘When Miss Page wants to swim in the rotogravure sections of the newspapers for M-G-M, she wears the suit at the left. It is cobweb black lace over flesh-colored georgette and—hold everything—ornamented with imitation pearl four-leaf clovers.’
6 (center right): ‘The geese on Lilyan Tashman’s bathing suit (right) are ornamental, not symbolic. Lilyan doesn’t make a goose of herself when she wears this outfit, designed by Howard Greer, to the beach. The suit is knitted jersey and the coat and hat are handblocked linen.’
7 (top right): ‘At the upper right is Alice White all dressed up for a First National bathing beauty parade. If it rains, she’s out of luck. The suit is beach broadcloth with a design of autumn leaves. The bag is a combination suit carrier and pillow. To your immediate right is Alice as she really looks in close proximity to the ocean.’

An amazing array of swimsuits in the September 1928 issue of Photoplay, especially the suit worn by Lilyan Tashman (lower right corner) with two geese on it, by Howard Greer. And that’s an early example (Patricia Avery, upper left) of someone wearing a two-piece suit!

GF - Boxing
The beautiful, talented, amazing and wonderful @artsymeeshee has been going through a lot lately and I’ve been wanting to do something for her, so (since I can’t draw chibi Stans or think of a good fic that follows that theme XD ) I thought I would write this for her! Seriously, guys, she’s incredible in every way and deserves all the love in the world, so go give it to her!
I hope you like this fic, girl, and that you’re doing okay. - N.S.
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~
It all started back when the Pines family first arrived back at the Mystery Shack. Mabel was up in the storage room (It was much fuller than wise, but the attic was used as a bedroom at the moment.) and had dragged Dipper along with her to help find some old photographs. With only two weeks to work on her special birthday present for her grunkles, she needed all the help she could get in making them the perfect gift: a new scrapbook full of old photos of Glass Shard Beach and pictures Mabel had saved on her phone and was going to print of the old sailors out at sea.
Mabel had her hands on a box full of baby photos that she was totally going to use as blackmail. She squealed and then covered her mouth quickly so they wouldn’t get caught when she found a photo of two twin boys sitting in little sailor-suits on their parents’ bed. The one with six-fingers on his tiny fists didn’t look happy, but his brother was laughing and was proud of his new suit. Mabel tucked it into her folder to use for the scrapbook and checked another box. She opened it and was surprised to find news articles for boxing events and pictures of her uncles training. “Wow, Dipper, look.” Mabel said quietly and Dipper sat with her by the box. “Whoa, Stan was really good.” The boy commented as he picked up photographs of a bruised-looking, war-beaten, teenage-version of Stan had a fist up in the air in victory and a trophy in his grasp. Ford was by his side, enjoying stealing Stan’s gimmick of wrapping an arm around his neck and pointing at him as he beamed with pride. “Check out all these first places.” “Wonder where all his trophies…” But then Mabel stopped. There were boxes in this room labeled “trophies”, but all of those were Ford’s from science fairs and spelling bees, because this had originally been his house. Since Stan was kicked out and didn’t exactly have time or space for memorabilia, the trophies were long-gone, probably tossed out by Dipper and Mabel’s great-grandfather. Mabel’s blood boiled and her teeth clenched in a very un-Mabel way. “If I ever see Blendin again, I’m using his time-machine to go back in time and punch that jerk in the face.” She growled. “Yeah,” Dipper sighed and held out some good pictures of when both of the twins were boxing in elementary school. “But hey, these will look great in the new scrapbook.” He pointed out, trying to make his sister forget Filbrick. It worked; Mabel smiled and took some of the pictures. “These are great, thanks!” And she added them to the folder. “They look so cute! And they look like they might be having fun.” Dipper shrugged; to this day Stan still enjoys watching a match and he still gave awesome left and right-hooks. “So, do you need more pictures, or…?” “I think… I dunno, I was hoping to find one of them with Grandpa or Ma Pines. Do you think they’d want that?” Even after the scrapbook had been made and delivered, Mabel still thought back to Stan and Ford’s old boxing days. It was interesting and cool to her, so one afternoon she asked Stan to teach her some moves. She had never seen that old man look so happy. (Except when he announced that he was going to be sailing around the world with Ford.) He took her out to the backyard and taught her how to take a proper stance and how to give good hooks and how to dodge properly. Mabel found she liked the feeling of the gloves and the poses and moves came relatively quickly to her. By the time the sun was setting Stan was laughing and calling her a natural. About a week or so later, Stan left his newspaper on the table to help put out a small fire Ford had started due to an experiment gone bad, and Mabel saw an ad for boxing tryouts. There was a team right outside of Gravity Falls and the whole thing was over by the end of the summer, so Mabel could join if she wanted. When Stan came back and finished his newspaper, he put it in the newspaper bin (used to start campfires or for arts-n’-crafts) and Mabel swiped the article for the date, time, and location. Dipper woke up the next morning and found Mabel’s bed, as usual, empty. But then as Dipper was scrubbing his eyes he heard something weird outside. He looked out the window and stared to find Mabel in pink work-out shorts, a white t-shirt, and her hair up with a scrunchie as she punched a tree with boxing gloves. Dipper slipped on some shoes and his hat and vest and hurried outside. “Mabel, what are you doing?” He asked when he got behind her out in the crisp morning air. “Training for the boxing tryouts.” Mabel said as she worked, punching a tree so hard a branch fell off. Dipper smiled proudly and said, “I wanna help.” And so history repeated itself as Dipper hurried to the library after breakfast and found books on proper diet techniques and he looked up video-tutorials on great workout routines. He rode his bike besides Mabel and used her megaphone to cheer her on as she jogged down the dirt road. He wore a full on pillow-bodysuit so Mabel could punch something that moves and tries to punch back. Dipper even made her protein shakes with raw eggs and other stuff to help her keep her energy and he poured her Mabel Juice down the drain, earning him a raspberry courtesy of his twin. The kids were careful to keep it a secret, Mabel insisting she wanted to surprise Stan and Ford by coming back with a real boxing uniform and a declaration that she made the team. Dipper supported her one million percent and on the day of the tryouts, they hopped on a bus for the gym. Dipper walked with Mabel in her workout-gear, hands in his vest and a proud smile on his face. They walked into the correct room, the one with a big ring and some bleachers, and found Mr. Poolcheck’s cousin, Mr. Boxcoach. The cousins had the same tight-face, sharp jawline, and popping vein, and they were both equally scary, but Mr. Boxcoach’s legs weren’t skinny and perfect for swimming, rather bulky and perfect for boxing, and he had oily brown hair. He wore a blue-jacket over a white t-shirt and he had a whistle around his neck and a clipboard in hand. Boys from neighboring towns were there to try out, too, and more were approaching. Mabel and Dipper walked up to Mr. Boxcoach to properly introduce themselves and before any of them said a word, the scary man asked with his eyes down at his clipboard, “What’s your name, son?” “Oh, no,” Dipper shook his head and patted Mabel’s shoulder. “I’m not here to try out, but my sister is.” “Hi! I’m Mabel.” She said cheerfully, almost bouncing where she stood with excitement. Mr. Boxcoach finally looked at them and snorted. “Yeah, no. I’m not putting a girl on my team.” Mabel’s smile dropped. Dipper saw the devastated look on her face and he had to try extremely hard not to lose his temper. “Why not?” He asked. “Whaddya mean, why not, she’s a girl.” Mr. Boxcoach said like it was obvious and he tucked his clipboard under his arm. “I mean look at her, a butterfly clip in her hair and a bright-pink scrunchie. They’d eat her alive out there.” “So what if she takes good care of her hair and likes pink?” Dipper snapped. “Last I checked, that has nothing to do with how good she is. She’s really tough, just let her try, she’s got a great left-hook!” “Listen, kids, it’s anarchy out there…” “She can handle it!” “... there is no way I’m letting a girl on my team.” Mr. Boxcoach said firmly. “I wouldn’t be caught dead with a girl in my boxing ring.” Dipper narrowed his eyes, seeing red, his whole body shaking with rage. “You won’t even let her try out?” “Nope.” Dipper was ready to yell and make Mr. Boxcoach rue the day he underestimated Mabel Pines, but one glance at her told Dipper that she looked ready to go home, so he put an arm around her shoulders and walked her out the door. “Forget that jerk. Wanna stop by that new candy store in town? I think they have a new safer Smile-Dip.” He offered softly. Mabel shook her head and pulled her hair down, her scrunchie on her wrist. “I’d rather just go home.” “Okay, sure.” Dipper tried to smile comfortingly at her, but she wouldn't meet his eyes and Dipper could tell that she didn’t need smiles right now. ~~~~~~~~~~ Waddles was asleep under the card table while Ford and Stan played poker on the table. Ford slammed his cards down as his brother laughed maliciously and scooted the loot to his side of the table. “You cheated!” “Probably, wanna try to prove it, Wise Guy?” Stan dared. “Oh, you little…” The door opened and closed and the old men smiled to see the kids return, but they were unhinged to find Mabel in unusual attire and hurrying up the stairs with tears in her eyes. The bedroom door slammed shut and Waddles woke up and trotted up the stairs. “What’s wrong with Mabel?” Stan asked. Dipper sighed and collapsed in the armchair. “Mabel wants to be on the boxing team.” Ford and Stan exchanged proud and surprised looks, but they also remembered that their little girl was upset right now. “Did she not make the team?” Ford guessed sympathetically. “She didn’t even get to try out.” “Why not?” Stan pressed on when Dipper fell silent and didn’t look in a hurry to tell more of the story. He gave them both a careful look, like he was debating if it was worth telling them, but he eventually said, “Coach says he wouldn’t be caught dead with a girl in his ring.” “WHAT?!” Stan stood up quickly and looked just as mad as he did back when he discovered that Mable and Gideon were dating last summer. “And you were okay with that?!” “Stanley,” Ford scolded lightly, not enjoying the fact that he was assuming Dipper didn’t do anything about it. “No! I tried, but there was no changing his mind.” Dipper defended and crossed his arms over his chest. Stan marched across the room. Ford stood up and asked, “Where are you going?” “To be mad at somebody new!” “Uh, oh.” Dipper said as Stan angry beyond reason. When Mabel heard Waddles scratching at the door, she forced herself out of bed to let him in. He hopped up on the foot of the bed and let Mabel lie her head on him and cry on his soft pink body. She hugged him and cried her heart out, disappointed and feeling stupid for thinking she even had a shot at boxing like her hero. A soft knock came at the door and Mabel looked up to find Stan at the door. She quickly wiped her tears away and her face dry; she didn’t want him to see her cry and think she wasn’t tough anymore. “Hey, everything okay, pumpkin?” Mabel smiled weakly and nodded. “Yeah, I’m okay…” “C’mon, Mabel, you can’t lie to an old conman.” Stan said and sat by the head of her bed. “Plus Dipper told me what happened.” He added, unable to take all the credit on him just being that awesome and smart. Mabel’s eyes filled with tears and she shut her eyes to try to hide it. Stan wrapped an arm around her shoulders and rubbed. “Snitch.” Mabel mumbled, making Stan snort. “I wanted to surprise you, make you proud.” “Whoa, hey,” Stan halted. “First off, I’ll always be proud of you. Always. You’re my little fight, whether you’re on some stupid team or not. That’s sweet that you wanted to surprise me and rub it in my face that you’re way better at boxing than me, but you don’t have to hide anything from me.” Mabel hiccuped a laugh over his little joke and she wiped her tears on her arm, feeling much better. “Thanks, Grunkle Stan.” “No problem, sweetie.” He looked her dead in the eye and asked, “Do you really wanna box?” Mabel wasn’t sure if he was asking because he wanted to make sure she didn’t want to box only to make him proud, or he was about to do something stupid. Either way, she wanted to be honest. She nodded and gave that Pines-gleam in her eye, the one that promised trouble and was fed off of determination, pride, and hard-work. “Yeah, I do. But the coach…” “I don’t care, get your gloves and let’s go.” Stan motioned a hand for her to follow and she did as she was told, following her great-uncle out of the room and eventually out of the house. ~~~~~~~~~~ Luckily the tryouts were only half done when Stan had Mabel’s hand and was walking her back inside the room. Her soft brown eyes found the scary Mr. Boxcoach and her hand tightened around Stan’s. “That’s him.” “I got this.” Stan muttered back. “OY! Veins! You and I need to talk!” Mr. Boxcoach had to whistle a match to stop and he turned to the new arrivals that stood outside his ring. Stan climbed up swiftly and had his hands on his hips, a suave, strong man in a suit looking deadly with cold brown eyes and tight fists just right for throwing a good punch. The atmosphere got ten degrees colder as Mr. Boxcoach realized he had talked badly about Stanley Pines’s girl. “Yes, sir?” He asked casually. “You tell my grandniece she can’t box?!” “Oh, well I was only looking after her…” “Well she doesn’t need you to look after her! She can look after herself and do a better job at it than most grown-ups!” Mabel, meanwhile, was turning pink with pride. “And you’re gonna give her the same chance you would give any other boy!” “Or what?” Mr. Boxcoach snarled. “Or we’re gonna have problems.” Stan growled and even Mabel felt a shiver go down her spine. Despite being the same size, Mr. Boxcoach looked significantly smaller than Stan. Mr. Boxcoach swallowed and then huffed, “Fine. Kid, you’re next. You’ll go against Drake.” “What?!” The pale sandy-haired kid with freckles yelled. He was one of the two already in the ring. “I’m not boxing with a girl!” “Why not, your friend is.” Mabel snapped. Stan swelled with pride and the other boy, a dark-skinned boy with brown curls, “oh”ed with a smile and said he’d fight her. Stan patted her back and said, “I’ll be in the bleachers. Kick their butts.” ~~~~~~~~~~ Ford and Dipper were watching the Used To Be About History Channel when Stan and Mabel came back home with huge smiles on their faces. “Guess who’ll be in boxing matches this summer?” “Mabel, that’s wonderful!” Ford cheered and gave her a hug when she hopped up on his lap in the armchair. “Congratulations! I’m so proud of you.” “Me, too.” And Dipper ruffled her hair from the dino-skull end table. “I knew you’d make the team!” “And I got a date!” Mabel added joyfully and punched the air in victory. “You did?” Ford asked, bewildered how boxing could lead to romance. He looked at his brother for clarification. “She did?” “It was a productive afternoon.” Stan simply said as he hung his suit jacket up. ~~~~~~~~~~ Mabel climbed up into the ring, her hair up in her pink scrunchie and her little butterfly pinning back her hair so she could see her opponent. She wore red and the enemy wore yellow, like gold without the sparkle. She narrowed her eyes and gritted her teeth, taking her stance. The big, nasty boy with crooked teeth snarled at her, ready to take her apart, free to dominate and humiliate a girl, but that wasn’t going to happen. Just before the bell rang, Mabel glanced over to the bleachers and saw her boys screaming and cheering her on. They had painted their faces red with a white stripe down the center and Stan wore his red Hawaiian shirt, Ford his turtleneck solo, and Dipper held a sign that read “GO MABEL GO!” in big red letters with stars all over it and tons of glitter. He cleared his throat mid-shout and coughed up glitter, proof that he had made the sign himself. Mabel grinned and focused on the scummy teenager in front of her. The bell rang.
Fic Summary: Deckard shows Luke another side of himself
Sitting under a large umbrella and on top of a large, thick blanket, Luke Hobbs stared out at the endless ocean in front of him. The water was calm, with the waves gently licking at the beach, but still too far away from the sand castle Sam was currently working on. She had a green one piece swimsuit on, while he was sporting swim trunks that were red with a yellow pineapple print.
Lifting his sunglasses, Luke looked down at his phone and checked if he had any messages.
But there was nothing new.
Sighing, Luke reached his arm out and rubbed the head of his bulldog, Freida. She let out a gruff sound when her sleep was disturbed. She wasn’t a big fan of the sun and heat, and had firmly stayed on the blanket, under the umbrella’s shade.
“C’mon, Deck. Where are you?” Luke said to himself.
The other man had promised to meet him and Sam at the beach, but was uncharacteristically late. Luke tried to think of what could have kept the other man, but nothing came to mind. All Deckard had told him was that he was going to head back to Luke’s house to change and make lunch. And Luke knew Deckard could whip up a meal in under ten minutes and still have it taste amazing.
Luke was starting to worry if something had happened. If Deckard needed help.
He’s fine. Deck can handle just about anything. Even if he was in trouble, he’ll get here. He promised.
Deckard Shaw was not one to break his promises.
And yet.
For the past week or so, Luke had noticed something off about him. When Deckard thought he wasn’t looking, his smile would drop and his gaze would become distant, almost as if he was getting lost in thought. Luke knew that Deckard would eventually come to him if something was bothering him, but before that, Deckard’s lips were sealed.
After living with Deckard for a few months now, Luke knew that Deckard could be direct and honest when he wanted to be. But not before he decided to. There was no telling Deckard Shaw what to do.
All Luke could do was be there for him, give him the space and patience he needed, and then finally just listen when Deckard came to him, bearing his soul.
There had been a lot of things to talk through when they had first gotten together, but each talk they had about their pasts, their limits, and everything they wished for in the future brought them so much closer.
So, Luke was sure he shouldn’t worry about Deckard too much.
Finally, a small chime sounded from his phone, and Luke let out a sigh of relief.
Here, said the text simply.
“Deck!”
Luke jerked his head up to where Sam was jumping to her feet, a huge smile on her face as she started to run towards the steps set into the sand dunes behind Luke. Turning his head, Luke followed Sam with his eyes as she ran towards Deckard, and felt his jaw drop open when his eyes landed on the smaller man.
Deckard was at the bottom of the steps leading down to the beach, the beautiful scene behind him dull in comparison to how he looked. Because standing there, Deckard’s simple, white dress gently fluttered in the ocean breeze. Colorful, embroidered flowers popped at the collar and hem of the dress, and seemed to mock the scenery around Deckard with their beauty. Deckard held a picnic basket in the crook of his arm, while his other hand reached up to adjust the sun hat on his head.
He was looking directly at Luke, a small, hesitant smile on his face. Which quickly transformed into a full blown grin when Sam ran straight into his legs and tightly wrapped her arms around his waist.
“Deck! You look so pretty!”
“Thank you, Sammy,” Deckard said in response to Sam’s shout and beaming smile. He wrapped an arm around her and brought her into a half hug, a look of pure love and adoration on his face.
Luke couldn’t help the way his heart jumped at the sight.
Scrambling to his feet, and getting a small yip from Freida at once again interrupting her sleep, Luke tried to keep his stride unhurried as he walked up to the pair. He didn’t need to ruin the moment by running like a bull at them.
When he was only a few feet away, Luke felt his heart skip a beat at the way both Sam and Deckard looked up at him, smiles on their faces.
Smiling back, Luke couldn’t help but tease.
“About time you got here, Deck. Thought we were going to starve.”
Deckard rolled his eyes, but his smile didn’t wave.
“You’ve survived worse, twinkletoes.” Looking down at Sam, he offered her the picnic basket. “Would you mind setting up our lunch, love? We’ll be there in a second.”
Sam took the basket giddily and nodded her head.
“Don’t blame me if all the good stuff is gone because you two are slowpokes!” She told them, running off.
“You better not give any to the dog!” Luke shouted after her.
Chuckling, Luke turned to Deckard.
“God, you look beautiful,” he blurted out.
Deckard blinked in surprise.
“You think so?” He asked in the smallest of voices that was almost caught by the breeze and whisked off. He was looking up at Luke with wide eyes, and Luke could have seen the vulnerability in them a mile away.
Slowly, Luke took the last few steps until he was barely a few inches from the smaller man. Raising his arms up, Luke looked at Deckard for permission. When he gave a small nod, Luke didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around Deckard’s waist and gently pull him closer until their chests were touching.
“Deckard. You look absolutely stunning,” Luke whispered and smiled softly at him.
“Thank you.”
Luke could feel the tension seep out of Deckard as he said that and looked relieved.
“Is this what took you so long?” Luke asked gently and waited for the answer when Deckard bit his lip and looked away.
“Yeah,” Deckard sighed. “I wasn’t sure how you two would… react to this outfit.”
“I think it’s safe to say that we both love it,” Luke reassured him and felt his heart soar when Deckard gave him a small smile.
Luke held still as Deckard slowly brought a hand up to cup Luke’s cheek, which he promptly nuzzled into. He watched Deckard lean forward and met him halfway, leaning down so their lips could brush.
No matter how many times Luke kissed Deckard, every and every time felt like the first with every single nerve ending firing off and making Luke feel lighter than a feather. And each time, Luke swore that Deckard let out a gasp as Luke deepened the kiss, finally able to taste Deckard and feel his passion.
Breaking apart, Luke rested his forehead against Deckard’s, both looking into each other’s eyes, never getting enough of the other.
“I have a feeling we should probably go check up on Sam.”
“Hmm,” Deckard hummed. “You’re right. She usually does follow through with her threats.”
Reluctantly, Luke released his hold on Deckard, but made sure to keep a hand on his hip, the silky feeling of his dress feeling wonderful between Luke’s fingers.
~~~
Luke leaned against the umbrella’s pole, confident that it could take his weight. He had one arm folded behind his head, while his other was firmly wrapped around Deckard’s shoulders. The smaller man was tucked securely into Luke’s side, head resting on Luke’s shoulder. Not too far away, they could see Sam splashing in the water with Freida following behind her. It seemed like lunch had given them both an extra boost of energy.
 Gently, Luke rested his cheek against Deckard’s head, and quietly started to talk.
“You know, if you ever want to wear more dresses, Sam and I support you.”
Luke could feel Deckard stiffen and then gradually relax again. Luke simply waited for Deckard to speak, knowing the other man’s thoughts were no doubt racing and would need some organizing. Finally, Deckard pulled away from him slightly, so they were able to look at each other. Deckard’s eyes were narrowed slightly as they stared into Lukes as he searched for any kind of deception.
Slowly he nodded, having seen how genuine Luke’s words were.
“I wasn’t sure how you two would take it, but I think I’ll take you up on that offer some time.”
“I can’t wait to see it,” Luke smiled. “You look amazing in everything, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to see you in a skirt.”
“Maybe sometime, twinkletoes,” Deckard chuckled. He wiggled closer to Luke and resumed the position he had been in and laid his head on Luke’s shoulder again. “I’ll have to probably steal some of my clothes back from Owen for that to happen.”
“He wears that kind of stuff too?” Luke asked, incredulousness creeping into his voice.
“The kind of clothing we wore never really mattered to us growing up,” Deckard explained quietly. “We were all really late bloomers, so there was a time where Owen and Hattie were basically the same size and height. So, they’d swap their clothes a lot. I remember the first time Owen wore a dress. Little brat spun himself in circles just to watch it move around him. Nearly made himself sick by doing that.”
Luke could just imagine a small, younger version of Owen nearly tripping over his feet and trying to find his balance.
“Let me guess, he was having so much, you just had to try it for yourself?”
“No,” Deckard chuckled. “It wasn’t until they both decided to have a growth spurt at the same time. Had to drag them shopping just so they would have something to wear. That’s when they tag teamed me and convinced me to try a dress on and-”
Deckard paused.
“And?” Luke prompted.
“And it felt… right.” Deckard whispered. “I enjoy my suits, but sometimes a dress feels better.”
Luke hummed in thought.
“As long as you feel comfortable, then I don’t see a problem with how you dress,” Luke told him. “In fact, I think I like this look a bit more than your suits.”
“Really?” Deckard craned his head up to look at Luke.
“Yeah,” Luke smiled. “I get to see more of your amazing muscles this way.”
To emphasize his point, Luke rubbed his hand up Deckard’s arm, feeling the hidden muscle. It wasn’t as obvious on him like it was on Luke, but he knew better than to underestimate the other man. He could easily hold his own, dress or no dress.
“Hmm. Maybe I should wear dresses more often,” Deckard purred.
Luke felt a shiver go up his spine at that, and smirked down at Deckard. Leaning down, so their lips were almost touching, Luke whispered.
“Like I said, I won’t be complaining, princess.”
And his smirk grew when he saw the lust in Deckard’s eyes, and easily swallowed down Deckard’s moan when he crashed their lips together.

Detroit: Become Family
Anyone out there interested in some angst and father-son fluff with Hank and Connor?  Because I’m here to offer you all some angst and father-son fluff with Hank and Connor.
June 30, 2040
“We’re celebrating your birthday this year, right?”
“I don’t have a birthday; I wasn’t born.”
The look on Hank’s face told Connor he was being too pedantic again.  “Fine,” Hank said dryly.  “We’re celebrating your android equivalent of a birthday this year, right?”
The familiar sarcasm had, for just a moment, brought the barest hint of a smile to Connor’s face - until the question made it vanish.  “Do we have to?”
Hank raised an eyebrow.  “No one has to.  They just want to.  You know that.”
“Yeah.”  Connor ducked his head, suddenly avoiding eye contact.  “But I don’t want to.”
“Why not?”
Connor didn’t answer.
“C’mon,” Hank insisted.  “I let you get away with that last year.  This time I want a reason not to go buy you a Thirium birthday cake.”
“I don’t believe such a thing exists.”
“Humor me.”
Connor frowned, his hand straying toward the pocket where his quarter was stashed.  After his deviancy, the coin tricks that had once been a simple calibration sequence had quickly become an anxious tic; much as he wanted to, he had yet to be able to break the habit.  “I don’t see any reason to celebrate what Cyberlife made me,” he said so quietly Hank had to move a step closer to hear him.  “The day I… killed my first deviant.”
“You didn’t kill him.”
“He’s dead, isn’t he?”
“Connor-”
“I promised I’d help him, and then I let him die.  I won’t… I can’t celebrate that.”
.
August 15, 2040
And that had been the end of it - or so Connor had thought.
August 15th wasn’t even the first day he could remember.  It was the day he was finally fully activated, the day he left Cyberlife for the first time.  But there had been many days before that one that he would much rather have forgotten.
There had been so many versions of him that had been “born” and then killed within a matter of hours - the cost of Cyberlife’s attempts to create their most ambitious prototype yet in such a short time.
Connor could remember them all.
He hadn’t on the day of his first mission.  Cyberlife had engineered him that way on purpose, erasing the memories of his past lives, ensuring that he didn’t remember what it felt like to die.
Ensuring that he wouldn’t feel a thing when he allowed Daniel to die.
But it hadn’t lasted.  The moment he at last broke through the red walls and became a deviant, all of the memories that had been hidden from him came flooding back.
The first emotion Connor experienced as a deviant was guilt.  Guilt for what he’d done to Daniel, guilt for turning in the android in Carlos Ortiz’s attic, guilt for uncovering the location of Jericho.  It was his punishment for daring to try to free himself from his creators: the ability to understand exactly what he'd done to his own people, to understand the fear they’d felt before they died.
Because of him.
.
Connor shuddered, wrapping his arms tighter around himself.  He was sitting on his bed, leaning back against the wall with his knees pulled up to his chest, trying not to think about what day it was.  Faint blue light played across his face from the large tank that sat nearby, and he stared intensely into it, hoping that the brightly colored tropical fish that swam lazily through the water would be enough to distract him from his thoughts.
It wasn’t.  Nothing ever was.
He’d picked up a dwarf gourami off the floor.  He didn’t know why.  Nothing in his programming told him to do it.  It just… felt right.
One of the fish was swimming back and forth near the side of the tank, staring at its own reflection in the glass.  Connor had noticed its fascination some time ago; he wondered what it made of its own appearance.
He’d seen himself reflected in the tank as he dropped the fish back into it.  He’d had no reaction at the time, this particular body having very little meaning to him.  It was likely only temporary, after all.  If this one was destroyed, another would simply take its place.
Another fish peeked briefly out from the shelter of a hollow rock, then darted back into the shadows.  It had always seemed to favor that hiding place.
The members of the SWAT team nearest to the balcony were hunkered down behind any shelter they could find.  Some had already been gunned down by the deviant, and the rest were now more cautious.  Connor had looked at the fallen bodies dispassionately.  They were mere evidence now, a puzzle for him to piece together and nothing more.
One of the fish seemed to have a favorite plant.  It spent most of its time swimming around it and through the leaves - until another fish came too close and it had to chase the intruder off.
The deviant was shooting at everyone it could see.  Connor had stepped out onto the balcony and almost immediately taken a bullet to the arm for his trouble.  The injury was trivial to him.  He was nothing but a machine; all androids were.  If the deviant thought differently, then it would be eliminated.  Machines could always be replaced.
One of the fish always stayed near the bottom of the tank, seemingly wary of straying too close to the water’s surface.  It had once, in its haste to get at its food, leapt clear out of the water and fully over the side of the tank, only Connor’s quick reflexes saving it before it could fall to the ground.  It was safely returned to the tank in a matter of seconds, and had never attempted such a feat again.  Connor had always wondered if it somehow remembered the experience.
He had watched Daniel fall.  It shouldn’t have mattered to him.  His mission had been to diffuse the hostage situation, and he had succeeded; the girl was safe.  And all it had taken was a handful of empty promises.  Daniel had already done far too much harm to be allowed to live, and yet he still believed it when Connor said he would protect him.  It was foolish, especially for a being that claimed to be alive.
But Connor had watched him fall.  The sight of it was burned into his memory, replaying itself again and again against his will.
There was no guilt.  Not yet.  It was still too soon for that.
What Connor had learned that day was fear.
.
“You know, when I got you those fish, I was really hoping they’d distract you.”
Connor was so lost in thought, he actually jumped slightly at Hank’s sudden appearance.  He hadn’t heard the door open.  “I was just… watching them,” he said lamely.
“Bullshit,” Hank responded evenly, keeping his tone light so Connor would know he wasn’t angry.  “You were lost in your own head again, kid.”  The android had come a long way in his two short years of life, but, as evidenced by his rapidly cycling LED, he still hadn’t managed to find a way to control his own racing thoughts.
Connor couldn’t deny it.  He turned away, pale blue coloring his cheeks.  “...couldn’t help it.”
Hank sighed.  “Yeah.  I know.”  He took a step into the room, keeping one hand hidden behind his back.  “Look, I… I get it.  I get why you don’t want to celebrate your birthday.  The people who made you were assholes, they made you do a bunch of crap you regret.  It was just a shitty day.  But the thing is…”  Connor looked up at him curiously, his head tilted to one side.  There was something confusing about Hank’s behavior; he seemed almost… nervous?  “...what if it didn’t have to be?”
“What?”
Again taking a step closer, Hank pulled his hand out from behind his back, revealing a large, flat, rectangular box wrapped in blue paper.  “I know you always say you don’t need anything, but I’m pretty sure I found something you’ll want.”
Something twisted in Connor’s chest.  He hadn’t expected this.  He was well aware that gift-giving was traditional on birthdays, but he thought he’d finally convinced Hank not to acknowledge it.  He didn’t want a birthday gift.  He didn’t deserve one.
And yet… there was something odd about Hank today that Connor couldn’t quite pin down, a kind of nervous energy that permeated the room.  He held the box out insistently, and at last, Connor’s curiosity got the better of him and he took it.
There was a card taped to the top.  Connor removed it carefully and opened it.  “You’re 2!” was emblazoned across the front in bold, colorful letters, over a row of cartoonishly rendered puppies wearing party hats.  It was clearly a birthday card for a toddler.  Connor raised an eyebrow at Hank, who shrugged, laughing.  “Couldn’t resist.  Now c’mon.  Open the box.”
Connor turned the box over in his hands, finding a taped edge and carefully peeling it up.  In his periphery, he saw Hank roll his eyes.  “We’re not savin’ the damn paper, kid.”  Connor ignored him, and continued to remove it methodically, stalling for time without really even knowing why.  He had a strange, inexplicable feeling that whatever was in the box, he didn’t deserve.
“Con?”
Connor started, suddenly realizing he’d been sitting motionless, staring at the plain brown box, now free of wrapping.
“You okay?”
Instead of answering - he didn’t know how he would anyway - he finally, decisively, pulled the lid off the box.
He froze.
Inside was nothing but a few sheets of paper.
The silence stretched on, and as he stared at the flashes of red in Connor’s LED, Hank began to grow concerned - and then to wonder if he’d made a mistake.  It had been a bit of a risk, he supposed, going and putting this into motion all on his own.  But when the latest set of android laws had passed, he hadn’t been able to resist.
Maybe he should’ve waited.  Maybe they should’ve talked about it first.
“Look, if you don’t want - I mean, I know it’s sudden.  You don’t have to-”
Connor interrupted him, his hands shaking as he stared down at the forms in his hands, unable to tear his eyes away from the words printed across the top: Petition for Adoption of Adult.  “You want to adopt me?”
Hank shifted his weight from foot to foot; he hadn’t been this nervous in a long time.  “If - if you want me to.  Just gotta get a couple witnesses and sign for it.”
Connor finally looked up at him, his dark eyes shining.  “Why?”
“What?”
“I’m not like you... I’m not human, I don’t know how to…”
“How to what?” Hank asked wryly.  “Deal with your feelings like a functional adult?  Good news, I don’t either.”
Connor shook his head wordlessly, struggling to voice his fears.  Had Hank really thought this through?  He’d had a family once… how could Connor ever hope to measure up to what he’d lost?  Finally, in barely more than a whisper, the words found their way out: “I don’t know how to be Cole.”
The plaintive statement hit Hank like a blow to the chest.  It was the last thing he’d expected to hear - and yet he realized he was prepared for it.  Maybe he had been ever since he’d first met Connor.
“I never asked you to be.”
Connor didn’t answer, but looked up at him pleadingly, a mixture of doubt and hope warring in his eyes.
“Do those papers say Cole on them?”
Connor glanced down at them needlessly.  “...no.”
“What do they say?”
He had to take a deep breath before he could reply.  “Connor… Anderson.”
Hank nodded.  “Damn right.  I’m not looking for another Cole.  I already had one, and no one could ever replace him.  I just… realized I’m ready to let someone else have that kind of place in my life.”  He cleared his throat, crossing and uncrossing his arms nervously.  “I’m ready to let you have that place in my life.”
Connor was speechless.  He’d asked Markus once what it was like to have a human father, and the deviant leader’s only response had been a rather enigmatic, “I think you already know.”  As such, he’d come to think of Hank as family.  He’d suspected - and hoped, of course - that Hank felt the same way, but he’d never been able to ask.  To suddenly find himself holding the proof in his hands was overwhelming.
“You see me as… your family?”
Hank raised an eyebrow.  “‘Course I do.”  He shook his head.  “You know, for the most amazing detective ever invented or whatever, you can be oblivious as hell.”
Connor let out a shaky laugh, a smile he couldn’t control spreading across his face as his LED transitioned quickly to bright, cheerful blue.  And then, before he even knew he wanted to do it, he’d dropped the box onto his bed and thrown himself into Hank’s arms.  The older man let out a faint oof as the wind was knocked out of him by the sudden armful of emotional android, but he adjusted quickly and wrapped his soon-to-be-adopted son in an enormous bear-hug, grinning when he heard Connor again laugh quietly.  It was a rare sound from the reserved android, and Hank savored it.
“Happy birthday, son.”
A few of the tears in Connor’s eyes managed to escape, and he pressed his face into Hank’s shoulder.  It wasn’t unusual for Hank to call him “son,” but it had a new meaning now.  He only hesitated a moment before he replied, his voice muffled, “Thank you… Dad.”
Tears suddenly sprang to Hank’s eyes as well.  “Dad” was a title he once thought he’d lost for good.  Just two years ago, he never would’ve dared dream that he would one day earn it again - and from an android of all people.  He ruffled Connor’s hair affectionately, unable to stop smiling.  He heard Connor murmur something into his shoulder, so quietly he could barely make it out - but the words found their way through:
“My name is Connor Anderson.”

JONAH CARTWRIGHT (HARRIS DICKINSON) is a 17 year old JUNIOR student at Broadripple Academy. HE is originally from ROCKLAND , MAINE but moved to Broadripple 3 YEARS ago. HE is COMPASSIONATE and DEDICATED but can also be INSECURE and WEAK-WILLIED.
1. Full Name?
Jonah Charles Cartwright
2. Preferred Names or Nicknames
 Jonah usually works just fine but his older sister took to calling him Joanie when they were kids and never really stopped , not that he’d ever tell anybody that.
3. What does their name mean? Does it have any significance in their family? Do they like their name?
Jonah means dove in Hebrew , not that Jonah or his parents know that and if Jonah did know that he’d hate it for being too soft..But his name meaning a symbol for peace does fit him as a character. Basically Biblical or virtue names are just a family tradition and John and Marie Cartwright wanted something slightly unusual.Jonah doesn’t really have any strong opinions on his name.It’s another part of his parents authority that he doesn’t question.
4. Age and Date of Birth?
17 and July 25th
5. Gender and Pronouns?
Cis male and he/him
6. Hometown?
Rockland , Maine.
7. Does your character fit into any well known archetypes or tropes?
Repressed gay Catholic and closeted manly manly jock are the most stereotypical tropes you can think of but I have big feelings about them so here we are lads throwing my hat into the ring.Some other tropes I associate with him are The Heart , Team Mom , Stepford Smiler , “Well Done , Son!Guy” and lastly he has Catholic Guilt out the wazoo
8. How long have they been at Broadripple?
Jonah’s been at Boradripple since the beginning of Freshman year.
9. What led them to apply to Broadripple? Was it a decision made by them or by their parents/guardians or somewhere in between?
His parents are the type of people that graduated from high school then immediately settled down and got minimum wage jobs.They wanted ‘better’ for their kids and for them to see more parts of the world so they made their oldest child apply for a scholarship to Broadripple , it seemed like it would give her a good education and give her those good pure Catholic morals.When she came back with good grades and apparently good fearing they had no choice but to continue the cycle and try to get their only son to there.
10. Whether they’ve been at Broadripple four days or four years, do they enjoy it?
Jonah enjoys Broadripple.He isn’t great at academics but he’s found his niche through athletics and has a bunch of good friends.
11. What house are they in? Do they care very much about their house?
 Jonah is in Fenwick and takes the inter-house competitions very seriously.He wants to prove himself to his housemates and make sure he does well for them.
12. Who do they share a dorm with, or are they on their own for the moment? What are they like to live with? Are they clean or messy? Early risers or night owls?
Jonah shares a dorm with Ezra Bergman he thinks he’s kind of a weirdo but does his best to be friendly.In Jonah’s mind everybody has more to offer and hidden depths.Jonah’s extremely organised and makes sure’s nothing out of place and all of his stuff is on his side.However , he’s kind of a terrible roommate because he sneaks out at the crack of dawn to jog every morning.When the suns up he’s up.
13. How is your character’s dorm decorated? Is it bare or bursting at the seems with personality? Any particular sentimental items from home?
His dorm is fairly minimalist.He doesn’t really have an eye for decorating and doesn’t really see the point.But he does like to stick photos up.He printed out a photo of him and Maggie after she went missing.
14. What is their favourite subject at school? Do they even have a favourite? Why?
Academics are a sore spot for him.As much as Jonah tries he struggles to grasp non-literal concepts and remember things for exams.But he thinks ASL is important and enjoys learning it.He also finds PE easy and excels at that.
15. Are they involved in any clubs? Which ones?
Jonah is involved in Sacristan Club.
16. How does your character feel about Broadripple’s Unofficial Clubs? Do they know about them? Are they a part of any of them?
Jonah became a pledge for the BBC because he thought it was a good way to fit in and gain him popularity.He puts a lot of effort into being one of the boys.He doesn't pay much attention to the other two clubs because it would be social suicide.
17. Does your character participate in any sports? If so, what made them join the team?
Jonah is a fullback for the boys hockey team , defender for the soccer team and apart of the swim team.He joined those teams because he feels like sports give him a purpose , make him feel calm and are the one thing he’s really good at.
18. What afternoon activities does your character do? Do they just do the one mandatory one or are they involved in multiple? Why?
19. Do they miss their home when they’re at Broadripple? Do they often go home for the weekends or do they only go home during holiday breaks.
When he’s at Broadripple he misses not being by the coast.Jonah goes home every couple of weeks because regular trips home would be costly and he has a difficult relationship with his dad.
20. Did your character know Izzy De Santis or Maggie Monroe?
He was pretty friendly with both of them thanks to the Unofficial Chastity Clubs.He felt pretty bad for Izzy after he gained his infamous reputation from that night in the woods.Jonah didn’t really think Izzy deserved it and just thought he was a troubled guy.Jonah thought Maggie was lovely and misses her like mad.He doesn’t have much involvement with the Unsolved club and thinks the whole king is disrespectful.
21. Has your character heard of Edith Lynch? Do they know the story?
 His knowledge of Edith comes from the usual rumours that haunt the school.He tries not to think about what happened because it’s disturbing and makes him uneasy.
22. How does your character feel about Nighmore? Have they noticed the recently closed shops yet
Jonah used to spend a lot of time in Nightmore and made it his second home in a way but after Maggie disappeared he tried to avoid it as much as possible.
23. Have you made any aesthetic Pinterest boards/WeHeartIt collections for this character? Or playlists? Anything you would like to share!
Here’s the pinterest for my boy.Hopefully some of the plot inspo stuff inspires you guys.
