Papa’s Red Box is looking for Submissions!
Tumblr media
Have you ever wondered what types of ‘paperwork’ Papas and Cardinals are always doing in fics? Or what kind of homework do siblings receive during classes taught by the clergy?
Well now is your chance to create your take on those assignments.
Whether it's an academic-style paper for Secondo’s History of the Ministry, a piece of art for Primo’s Drawing 101 class, or a condition report of a ministry relic, it can be submitted here. Terzo’s poetry or photography classes can also submit their works. (Not all of the views might match, do not worry, everyone's ‘branch’ works a bit differently.)
Your work is important regardless of your role as a sibling in the ministry. Here we can showcase all your hard work.
Don’t have a ‘research’ topic that comes to mind? No worries, we can have a brainstorming session to point you in the right direction.
“What if I don’t want to work on this alone?” I’m sure some others feel the same way and will be eager to connect over mutual topics.
Don’t you think you can commit to a full research-style piece of writing? We will accept ‘write-ins’ debating a made-up ‘previous’ article. Or even a short incident report that describes encounters or conflicts between siblings and ghouls.
If it feels like something that might come across a Papa’s desk, then it is welcome.
What is a 'Red box'?
"Similar in appearance to a briefcase, they are primarily used to hold and transport official ministerial papers. Red boxes are one modern form of dispatch boxes, which have been in government use for centuries." Wikipedia
Theme:
The loose theme of this is academia. This should be a fun ministry lore-building exercise. You get to build a new perspective into the inner workings of the ministry. Once again, not all of the views might match, do not worry, every ‘branch’ works a bit differently. After all, this is a ministry-wide collection of works.
These should be written from an ‘in-universe’ point of view. Meaning that these should feel like they come from a sibling/clergy member’s hand. The potential discussions about magic or ghouls are limitless.
Why the academic style?
This comes from my urge to write an academic-style paper again. I miss doing visual analyses on pieces of art and think it might be interesting to attempt that with the different pieces of cannon art for Ghost (ie: the stained glass backdrops, papal portraits, or even t-shirt art)
I also feel like Ghost fans love finding the hidden meanings of everything. This is a chance to fully compose those thoughts in a long-form piece of writing for others to enjoy. This means bringing in as many citations as you feel you need to completely defend your stance.
Format:
This will be compiled into a PDF for all participants to enjoy, share, or even print to have a physical copy. It will be formatted in a way that will be easy to print and bind.
This is so there is no money being exchanged and creators can do whatever else they wish with these pieces. While we aren't collecting money, we are encouraging people to donate to a cause they believe in if they can do so.
Topic ideas:
Want to write about a historical painting but have nothing to do with it afterward? This is your chance to make that urge feel productive.
Want to create something based on the ghouls that look at them from a research perspective? Great!
Did you do a bunch of random detail research for a fic and want to give it a chance to shine? This is your time.
Potential items:
incident reports (can be written in 3rd or 1st person)
research papers
Clergy member or previous papal biographies
Ministry wide memos
flyers/ads for clubs within the ministry or for ministry outreach.
Condition reports
art pieces (Must be high res and printable)
‘Class notes’
Word counts:
This is going to be something that we will have to decide after getting in applications. It's all dependent on how many people we have actually wanting to write things vs visual arts.
Deadlines:
Application Open:
August 4th - August 30th depending on the number of applicants
Apply HERE
Acceptance notifications:
September 13th
Waitlist notification:
(PLEASE NOTE waitlist is dependent on how many applications we receive. This is the last day that you will hear from us if you have been accepted.)
September 24th.
Final Topic Selection:
September 27th
First check in:
October 18th
Second Check in
November 4th
Final submission
November 22th
Estimated Release Date:
Mid to late December. Hopefully all formatting will be done before New Years.

MINI CHECKLISTS AND MEMOS
I love me some mini printables.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ive always preferred having everything in front of me and for a while now, I’ve been thinking of memo pads. The stuff you can just stick onto your desks or walls so you can easily find what you need to do.
Except!
I’ve never found ones with designs I specifically liked. The round check markers or whatever they’re called can be quite rare to find in general stationeries and I also wanted a pretty quirky header to spice up the look! I have seen memo pads with grids and dotted paper textures, but again, quirky header! and compact size ; )
[ WHAT IS IT? ]
+ The Mini Checklist and Memo is basically just my design of a memo pad but since I only offer digital downloads, you can, instead, download these pages yourself and do with it as you usually would items like these!
[ WHAT DO I DO WITH IT? ]
+ With the variety provided, and compact size, you can use them as inserts in the journals or planners you already use or, as I’ve been saying over and over again, tape them into your desks or pin them in your boards! + They come with cutting guides so you can cut them easily. All you need are some good scissors or cutting apparatuses and you’re good to go! (Although, it’s best to make sure the blades aren’t dull so you won’t fumble when cutting through the vertical lines)
[ CAN I CUSTOMIZE IT? ]
+ YES. You can use any colored materials when writing on them. It’s your checklists! + NO. Unfortunately, there’s no option to edit the layout.
[ WHERE DO I GET IT? ]
+ You can download the checklist [ here ] and the memos [ here ]
[ IS IT FREE? ]
+ Somewhat. The item is on "pay-what-you-want" terms on ko-fi. If you'd like to support me, you can pay however much you'd like! Even just a dollar is enough for me ^^ But you can definitely input 0 to get it for free : ) + KO-FI will not require you to have an account, but you will need to provide an email for the invoice of your “purchase”
If you have any inquiries, requests, anything; you can definitely just DM me here or through my KO-FI!
I create my designs for free but if you’d like to support me, consider checking out my ko-fi!

Revolutionize the Financial Operations of Health Club with Smart Check Templates
As the world becomes more digital, the use of checks is still a key part of financial dealings for numerous companies and people. Check templates for printing are vital for making checks that are both accurate and look professional, making sure all the important details are in the right format and easy to understand. In this article, we will look at the different components of checks, the significance of their format, and how health clubs can benefit from using the cloud-based platform’s customizable check templates.
What Are Check Templates?
Check templates are pre-designed layouts utilized for creation of checks. These templates ensure that the layout and information, such as the date, payee name, amount, and account information, are properly positioned, making the printing process more precise and smoother.
Why You Should Understand a Check's Format?
Understanding the layout of a check helps to detect any signs of tampering or fraud.
Knowing the different parts of a check, such as the routing number, account number, and check number, ensures funds are properly transferred between the payer and payee.
Checks are legal financial documents, so filling them out correctly is crucial for them to be enforceable.
Incorrectly formatted checks can lead to fees for bounced checks, returned checks, or declined deposits.
Knowing where to place the critical information (like the date, payee name, amount, and signature) helps both individuals and banks process checks more quickly.
Key Parts of a check
Personal information: This section includes details about the person who owns the account and is making the payment.
Payee line: This indicates who will receive the fund.
Dollar box: It displays the amount of the check in numerical format.
Amount of your check: This is written out in words rather than in numbers.
Memo line: In this space you can add any special notes regarding the purpose of issuing the check.
Date Line: This marks the date the check is issued.
Signature line: This confirms that the account owner has authorized the payment.
Your bank’s contact information and/or logo: This is typically printed on the check.
The check number: The check number appears in two locations and serves as a security precaution to identify each payment and prevent fraud.
Account number and Routing number: The account number and routing number are key parts of your check. The routing number links to the bank where your account is held, while the account number points to your individual account at that bank.
How a Health Club can Benefit from Printable Check Templates?
Zil Money helps health clubs make checks easily and quickly. It offers many editable check templates.
The club managers can choose one that matches their brand.
The process of personalizing checks is easy—just upload your club’s logo, add the club’s name, and enter details like account and routing numbers.
Checks can be printed on blank check paper or plain white paper using a regular printer, removing the requirement for a standard printer.
Printing checks on blank check paper helps to achieve significant cost savings and also reduces the reliance on pre-printed checks.
Once a check is created, the platform provides the option to send checks by mail or as eChecks.
eChecks can be sent as one-time printable PDF format to the payee through email or SMS, who can then print them on regular paper or blank check stock.
Using the cloud-based platform you can mail checks via USPS or FedEx at an affordable cost, covering postage and paper cost.
 Preventing Check Fraud
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) stated that in 2021, banks and other financial organizations submitted more than 350,000 Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) concerning check fraud. Additionally, FinCEN noted that in 2022, the count of SARs concerning check fraud reached a record high, surpassing 680,000.
The platform integrates with more than 22,000 banks and financial institutions in the US and Canada allowing to link multiple bank accounts and check formats. The smooth integration simplifies the reconciliation process, helping to track financial transactions accurately.
Positive Pay feature from Zil Money ensures security by notifying your bank in advance about checks you've written. Consequently, your bank will only clear checks that have been reported to them. This feature is widely accepted by financial institutions to prevent fraudulent checks from hitting the account. A transaction occurs when the check's number, account number, and dollar value match the check being paid. Any checks that don't match are sent back to the person who issued them.
Using check templates can significantly improve the speed and professionalism of your financial operations. These templates save time and assist to keep accurate records by offering a uniform format. In addition to this, investing in the appropriate check printing software is a wise decision that can significantly enhance your financial processes. When picking check printing software, it's important to consider the essential features and functionalities you need, as well as any security and compliance requirements.

Without warning, Robotnik draped himself across Zinnia's desk and studied his nails while he spoke. "Dr Frost! You like other people, right? At the very least, you're good at acting as if you're interested in their mundane lives and their idiotic, self-induced personal issues! Why don't you write the Yearly Holiday Memo in my place? I could use a little me-time after this hellish year I've had." He glanced up at her and grinned. "Thanks in advance!"
Zinnia looked a bit amused at the way Dr. Robotnik settled on her desk like a giant cat and “requested” that she write the memo in his place. She had half a mind to say no but she couldn’t just refuse to do something work-related that her boss tells her to do. Besides, it’s actually an excellent opportunity to plan a nice holiday event! So, she after finishing up her work, she wrote a nice memorandum and emailed it to all the employees, with a carbon copy emailed to Robotnik, of course.
>-<->-<->-<->-<
TO: All Employees CC: Dr. Ivo Robotnik FROM: Dr. Zinnia Frost, Dr. Ivo Robotnik’s assistant DATE: 25/11/2020 SUBJECT: Annual Christmas Holiday Memorandum
Dear employees,
I, on behalf of Dr. Robotnik, would like to extend my warm wishes to you and your family for Christmas and would also like to thank you for all your hard work and sheer dedication and hope that this will continue for years to come by.
To celebrate this joyous festival, I invite you all to relax and unite together with a light and happy heart at the Christmas barbeque that will take place on December 12th, starting at 3:00 PM at the main Compound garden. There will be plenty of drinks and a Christmas tree will be lit at 4:00 PM. We’ll have a small band playing traditional carols as well so feel free to sing along! And don’t be scared if our CEO shows up dressed as the Grinch! I will handle him uwu.
Additionally, please be informed that this event is for employees only. I sincerely apologise for that but due to security reasons, you are not allowed to bring along anyone who is not an employee. But the upside is that this event is free of cost, of course. I hope you all attend and enjoy it to the fullest.
Those of you who would like to attend, please register here by 5th December, 2:00 PM so that we can cater enough food for everyone!
Tumblr media
On another note, I know you all want to make sure the holidays are enjoyed and appreciated by your whole family, but planning an itinerary is easier said than done. After all, balancing busy schedules and interests of the entire family is no easy task. So, to help you out, I will suggest some fun holiday activities you and your family can try:
1. Attend a Tree Lighting Ceremony
Many cities or landmarks will have a ceremony honouring the lighting of their tree. It’s a night where crowds of people attend the festival, dressed in their warmest attire and gather around the tree waiting for it to spring to life. This will really get you in the Christmas spirit!
2. Connect with an Old Friend
The holiday season is the perfect time reconnect up with an old friend that you haven’t met in a while. So, reach out to and set up a time to get together. Who knows, they may end up becoming one of your best friends!
3. Try New Recipes
Whether it’s baked goodies or soothing drinks, you and your family will enjoy making some delicious treats. These are some of my favourites:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Be mindful of any food allergies you may have, though!
4. Try Out a Winter Sport
Ice skating, sledding and skiing are great sports to enjoy during the winter, and an even better way to get your kids up and outdoors during their holiday break. During the Christmas season, outdoor ice skating rinks start popping up. There are even indoor skating rinks! So, bundle up, put on a pair of blades and glide around the rink!
5. Do a Random acts of Kindness, Donate, Volunteer
Christmas is all about giving, even if what you give are just small, random acts of kindness. They are some of the most fulfilling and sweetest things you could ever do. Donate toys to children. Try your local homeless shelter or children’s hospital. Trust me, giving a gift to a child in need and seeing them light up with joy is one of the most rewarding things you could do. You can also donate food and warm clothes to the unfortunate people who need them to help them get through the frigid winter season. Gather some from friends, family and bring them to the local homeless shelter. Volunteering is also a very easy way to help and spread some joy. Of course, volunteering is a great thing to do at any time of the year, but during the holidays there are even more opportunities. Pick a cause close to your heart and spend the day giving. Find opportunities near you on the Volunteer Match or the United Way website.
6. Start a New Family Tradition
When in doubt of what to do during the holidays, Christmas is the perfect time to start a new tradition that will live on in years to come. It can be anything like a special dish you cook every holiday season, volunteering at the local shelter, Christmas carolling or wrapping your kids in gift paper and rolling them under the tree for fun. The possibilities are limitless! You’re sure to find something you’ll look forward to every year.
7. Make a Homemade Gift
There is always something special about giving and receiving a homemade gift. Everyone loves to receive them from their loved ones as a lot of time and effort is put into creating them, making them all the more special. It could be a glass frame with pressed wildflowers or a snow globe—the possibilities are endless!
8. Have a Christmas Craft Party
Get the Holiday fun started by hosting a Christmas craft party. Set up crafts, invite your child’s friends, and have a few seasonal snacks to carry them through the party. Here are many crafting ideas that you could enjoy making on that day. Whichever crafts you choose, having a day like this will be fun and memorable.
9. Watch a Holiday Movie Favourite
Slip into your comfiest pjs, make some popcorn and have a holiday movie marathon with your loved ones. Some of my favourites are:
Mickey's Christmas Carol
Disney's A Christmas Carol
Klaus
Home Alone
The Nightmare Before Christmas
10. Kiss Someone Under the Mistletoe
Who says there’s no time for romance? Set up mistletoe in your home and lead your beloved partner under it to have the splendid excuse of kissing them.
Tumblr media
Last but not least, remember to look after yourself and your mental health. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed or stressed time to time hence I encourage anyone experiencing mental health issues to seek support. Remember, it is okay to ask for help, even for the small things so they don’t become big things. If you’re unsure about how to go on about this, or would even just like a friendly chat, feel free to contact me directly by email and I will do my best to assist you.
I once again would like to express my gratitude towards you all and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas!

1 Year Later : My Sixth Form Masterpost 😊🧐
Last Summer, I decided to make a Masterpost of all the tips I gathered for people moving from year 11 to college of sixth form, as well as those who need any academic aids.
Today I decided to make a review of the  masterpost I made for sixth formers last year. I’m now going into year 13, so I’ve had time to think about what’s best for me and as a very determined student, I thought it would be a good idea to look back at what I thought I needed.
Websites and Resources
Revision world - I did not use this at all this year. The only useful thing that came out of this website was the ability to make mind maps because I always get lost when I do them by hand - although there’s many other sites for that. 2/10
Specs - Going to your exam board website and printing out your specifications are a big help because you can outline your own self study throughout the year. Keeping track is essential. This was very essential for my Media class and English Literature because they are essay based and the spec is perfect for planning. 8/10
Specimen Papers and Walkthroughs - we all know how useful practice is and finding up-to-date papers are essential for calming yourself into the exam mindset. Walkthoughs on Youtube are also great because it gives a condensed version of the exam thought process. As someone who struggled with improving my essay writing to A Level standards, specimen papers are essential to my own planning  and actually understanding how arguments are executed. 8.5/10
Powerpoints  or Prezi- this one is a bit of an odd one and does require a bit of digging. Search up “a level (subject) powepoint/presentation” and there may be a presentation from teachers on a unit from your subject. On Prezi there are loads of presentations that are easy to follow and vary in content. This was unintentionally the most useful resource for Media Studies. In my class, our teachers would set us up in groups bi-weekly and just give us an element of media to make presentations on. Luckily when you do a search along with “slideshare” there’ll be an array of student-made presentations. I don’t encourage copying but it cuts down on time spent searching for main facts. 10/10
Youtube - of course everyone’s favourite site is a useful resource. However, it is very easy to get distracted so look at specific channels and playlists. I actually didn’t use youtube too much this year, but I think it’s great for advice videos. 5/10
Emma studies - this is truly my prinatable queen annd planner life saver. She has all these free printables and layouts that you can just put in your binder and in your books to keep up with your work. However, I haven’t been journaling since COVID properly started in February, so I need to figure that out haha. *Note she hasn’t really been active in a while
Study Methods
Cornell Method - Not useful for someone like me. I did not practice this method enough because of its inefficiency and have now realised its totally useless for my style of work. I advise that you get a Skillshare and watch the entirety of Ali Abdaal’s study class or go look on his Youtube channel. The summary section is counter is a waste of space as I would probably rush it to just do it. Although the questions section is the most useful part, its more efficient to write the questions as a title and make additions after.
Colour schemes- Once again, another very very pretty add-on to notes but I stand by the rule of a MAX 3 colour scheme. I must reiterate that this is an add-on and it is best to stick to one colour pen, rather than switching between pens.
Rewriting Notes after class - now I know the idea seems long winded and a waste of your time, but ... I now realised it is actually A WASTE OF TIME. I earnestly entreat you to watch the skillshare class I mentioned. The act of re-writing extensive notes from class is not active recall, even though the act of writing is partially benefitial. I would advise writing down key points and specific points for the exam, but not much more. Repeated exposure to these facts or ideas is much better because you do all the summarising in your head. Obviously, this is the time you can make reformed notes, but doing it for every lesson is strenuous in the long run.  The learning doesn’t take place on paper so save the environment.
Music
My light playlist - this playlist is pretty chill and a bit of a autumn night vibe.
Reading playlist - there’s pretty good scores on here for reading sessions for a bit of a switch from the usual (I really loved this during the autumn term, especially for English)
White noise- I loved this and some exam hall sounds on youtube.
Supplies
Home Binder/ expanding file - Unfortunately, I am yet to have a system that works with binders. It really does help to have a small file to hold all your papers, but I would use online files and not print unless necessary.
Binder for lessons- For STEM, language and perhaps essay classes, I think you definitely need a place to store all that content. Make sure you declutter often!
Refill pad/ notebook- I hated my perforated books and I’m starting to grow hatred for wirebound books (maybe its the way I store them), but I like having an easy notebook on the go.
Post its/ page tabs- I personally think these are a little wasteful if you are not using them consistently. Page tabs are very good for books if you need to focus on themes, characters or as points for essays.
Planner- please, please, please get a planner. You need a planner regardless of how you do it - online, bujo or on daily memo sheets.
USB - not many people talk about having a usb, maybe because we are in the digital age of sharing. When you need to quickly open docs or powerpoints in school, or in the library or at home, no one has time to wait for google drive. I learned how important it was to have a usb in gcses and it is worth the extra effort.
Tips and advice
The jump in self discipline, workload and effort at a level is different for everyone, but it is helpful for you prepare in whatever way you can, so that the hit isn’t so scary. I got hit so hard and was giving up by November; those videos about being tired are no joke.
Your friends are not always the best people to organise study groups with. Unless you are sure, that work is going to get done, its best that you find people that you can get serious with. I still stand by this because I know not everyone has a nice study space at school and the sooner you get used to focusing alone or better yet with a teacher, the better.
If you feel yourself losing focus and even after taking a break, you’re uninterested, stop and refresh at another time or the next day. You’re brain is doing so because it cannot fit anything else in there and forcing yourself isn’t helping anyone. If you continuously burn yourself out, you will find it difficult to come back to the work because you’re constantly reminding yourself of how much of a chore it is. - I got burned out twice and never recovered. Please take care.
Ask your teachers and your head of year questions. The magic word “ucas” is going to be popping up and soon enough you’re going to be worrying about your personal statement.(Its popping up right now for me </3) If you have a query, find a time to talk with them because it is invaluable support. If you’re like me, write on a piece of paper the questions you have and meet your teacher in a free or at lunch so you can be comfortable and get down what you can. They’re a lot more understanding than I thought.
You can buy all the supplies and ask all the questions but implementing these keys are all on YOU. If you feel yourself slipping, be honest and accept it because if you keep running from it, you could seriously damage your physical and mental health. Keep a diary so you can notice patterns in your energy.
Your best is your best. Succcess is subjective blah blah blah and no one can take that from you. When you get your results, you know what you put into those exams/coursework , so you are entitled to disappointment or joy.
This took me a while to make so I appreciate any comments or reblogs. I love you random person.  If you got to this point I would appreciate it if you could follow my general account on Instgram @fairy_lierre, as I’m going to rest my studygram. Stay tuned for lots more on a level advice and life update <3

Oven Roasted Chicken Leg Quarters
As the price of just about everything at grocery stores rise, bone-in, skin-on chicken leg quarters must missed the inflation memo because I can still buy them for well under $1/pound. Chicken leg quarters cook in about half the time it takes to roast a whole bird, and let’s face it, nothing smells as amazing as chicken roasting in the oven. Add a few veggies and potatoes and you can have one heck of a sheet pan dinner on the table in less than an hour.
Oven Roasted Chicken Leg Quarters
make 5 servings
Printable Recipe
Ingredients
bone-in, skin-on chicken leg quarters
2 tablespoons olive oil
2-3 cups bite-size vegetables (carrots, potatoes, asparagus, brussel sprouts, broccoli, etc)
poultry seasoning to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 425F and place rack in center position.
Line half sheet pan with parchment paper or spray well with nonstick cooking spray.
Dry chicken leg quarters with paper towels and space evenly on sheet pan.
Spread potatoes and vegetables evenly among the leg quarters.
Brush chicken and vegetables with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with poultry seasoning.
Roast, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature in the ticket part of the leg reaches 165F.
Remove from oven and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Note
Chicken thighs or drumsticks can be substituted, just start checking for doneness after 35 minutes.
