i Have to give credit where’s credit due and sing my praises for the og wille in the prince simon verse by @prince-simon that i draw so much on, obviously prince simon is the star of the show but the fic is actually in wille pov and it’s one of the first long (lmao) wilmon fic i’ve ever read. it really dived into wille’s anxiety and fears, which made me so much more empathetic when it’s so easy to be a wille hater as a simon kinnie lmao. but also ultimately, he is a downbad loverboy and that love (both for himself and simon) inspires him to be brave and make radical choices for his life. which is so lovely to see that being reflected in canon throughout the years - feels like i really got to know wille and was right about him all along.

Oh god oh god, words can't explain it but we love her so much, don't we? Wille going on a gender journey is only part of what makes her so lovely here. Oh how I love this universe! I've re-read these multiple times and it genuinely made me look at S2 differently. I love how the author doesn't shy away from the conflict between Wilhelm and Simon, and it's beautiful to see them work through their differences and find strength in them and each other. Also a rare A/B/O in this fandom, and so canon compliant at that!

I love this series so much, and I so deeply appreciate the author taking us through Simon's insecurities and kink negotiation in addition to the intimacy. It was genuinely so beautiful and touching! Don't know where to begin. This story is so full of life. It's just so lovely to imagine the sort of future for them where they get to have all these beautiful little moments amongst the mess of being pulled back in the public eye. Author writes Simon so well, too, and I love their bickering even more than their cute moments because it all feels so real and so full of love.

I wonder if we’re going to see more from Ice Thing in this show. I guess I doubt it because we literally just started the Multiverse Hopping part of the adventure and it seems like it’s going to be a while before we make it back to Ooo - but he really is something that could play an interesting part in Simon’s character arc.

Because he really is the idealized version of Ice King. Not in the way that the Ice Prince of Fionna’s dream was - a basically unrelated sexyman with an icy coat of paint.

Ice Thing really is just... Ice King without the Bad Parts. Just a happy-go-lucky Ice Wizard who is kinda silly and wacky. 

Without all the parts where Ice King was legitimately miserable most of the time and often caused real harm to those around him.

And he’s happily married to a Princess who loves him! Literally the one thing Ice King always wanted.

Ice Thing is basically… like what Finn and Jake and Marceline were working towards with Ice King before Betty just turned him back into Simon. Still Ice King, but simply a happier and healthier Ice King. 

I wonder if the reason why so many people in Ooo seem to have a kinda rose-tinted view of what Ice King was like is because they keep comparing Simon to Ice Thing instead on some subconscious level. Because it’s important to remember that while Ice King got closer to being content and happy and harmless as the show went on, he never quite managed to reach the state of where Ice Thing seems to be in.

Ice Thing is both a reminder of the life Simon lost when he regained his old identity, but also a reminder of just how far away he always was from that level of happiness.

the way gary was subconsciously recounting his life as prince gumball before simon became unmagical is so cool to me. like fionna, he somewhat remembers it but thinks its something he made up himself because of the boring world they live in without magic it totally can’t be real right?? the way he remembered everything from cinnamon bun to the cupcake and strawberry being married is so incredible because it means all hope isn’t quite lost for the world, it just needs its magic back (i REALLY hope the crown isnt the only way holy shit simon please no more ice king)

this might be reaching a little bit but it also potentially could be a plead from his subconscious, really wanting to get back to his regular magical life but its sort of trapped. somewhere in a tiny part of the world in simons head in the multiverse.

DC COMICS ANNOUNCES MULTIVERSUS COMIC FEATURING ADVENTURE TIME CHARACTERS

Multiversus: Collision Detected is a tie-in comic for the Smash-like video game Multiversus, and it will technically be the first Adventure Time comic since the conclusion of 2018's Marcy & Simon.

Unlike the compendiums and the upcoming unannounced 2025 Adventure Time comics, Multiversus: Collision Detected will be published by DC Comics rather than Oni Press.

Here's the synopsis from the DC September 2024 solicitations:

"Bruce Wayne, Diana Prince, and Clark Kent each wake in a cold sweat, troubled by strange dreams they’ve had about “the rabbit,” “the star child,” and “the witch.” Their investigation into these enigmatic visions brings them to unexpected locales and unusual characters, but none more unusual than the mysterious “rabbit” from their dreams as they find themselves face-to-face with the one and only Bugs Bunny. What the heck is going on here? And who in the name of the Multiverse are “the star child” and “the witch”? The hit video game spills from your screen and into the DCU, and it’s bringing a whole lot of friends from some of your favorite universes with it!"

I think this is a one-shot comic rather than a series. It will be written by Bryan Q. Miller and illustrated by Jon Sommariva. It will go on sale on the 18th of September 2024 and retail for $5.

So Simon's head was Prismo's hard drive and Winter King knows Fionna and Cake

That means ALL Ice Kings (past/present/future iterations) have Fionna and Cake in their heads

But is it like a shared dream wherein multiple Ice Kings have the same dream (one singular Fionna and Cake universe)

OR every Ice King dreams of a different version of Fionna and Cake? So there's like other versions of Fionna and Cake that remain magical from the get go? (Fionna and Cake multiverse)

If its a singular universe, it would explain why Fionna dreams of Ice Prince - because there's a version of Simon who's still magical, who turned out as the Winter King, who is also part of the multi-Simon hard drive where her universe is stored

What changed Ice Prince Finn back to normal & where did he get a crown from?

Was Finn stealing a baby what ended up changing him as a person in the Farmworld universe? Similar to how Marceline kept Simon prime grounded & humane for a while.

Maybe Jay Mertens (I think that was his name, the eldest son) reminded him of his little brother too.

As for how the crown came back into the Farmworld reality, that would be because of whatever wacky effects are happening from Fionna & Cake going through the multiverse. Scarab was also messing with the multiversal TV's insides.

Going back to Farmworld Finn's little brother, maybe he was the one who broke the crown since I doubt a coward like the destiny gang leader would have been able to do it (or there's some sort of timeline loop going on with a bunch of the crowns that'll get shown later). This is assuming the little brother is alive, but we don't even know that for sure. There is just a lot we don't know.

edit: I see what y'all are saying about the old episode, seems like Prismo didn't wipe anyone's memories, he only made it so the crown would be destroyed. People still remember The Snow Man AKA Ice Prince Finn & what he did with all of that magical power. I also still think Jay Mertens could be the baby at the end of the flashback at the start of the episode.

So I’m making another ‘which Au should I do next but this time I’ve made sketches to go along with each of them:

So the three Aus you have to choose from this time are Magwood’s Will, Ice Prince Present and Adventure Valley. Here’s a brief description of each:

Magwood’s Will - Magwood lives on in the crown, wearing away at its wish over eons. By the time Simon puts it on, the crown breaks and Magwood takes Simon as its host. Pretty much lava werewolf/dog Simon.

A few extra details I didn’t put in the last post: Betty doesn’t ‘leave’ straight away so there’ll be some pre-war post-‘crown’ Simon and Betty stuff. Also Simon being a dad is a big part of this au.

Adventure Valley - After the encounter with GolBetty and spitting up a whole universe, Simon’s physical form wasn’t very stable. If sent back to Ooo, the abundance of magic and weirdness would distort him further but if sent to a magicless world it’s resistance to anything magic or weird would snuff out the instability and take Simon with it.

GolBetty managed to find a universe that would let Simon’s instability settle without making it worse or killing him, so she sent him there, having him end up in an abandoned farm house on the edge of Pelican Town. Basically this is a Stardew Valley Crossover.

Ice Prince Present - Due to the uncertain and unbound nature of Fionna and Cake’s universe, when all of the magic ‘disappeared’, some of it ended up in Fionna’s head causing another universe to appear. This one was much smaller than hers though and while she and cake could visit it in their dreams, it could only permanently house one conscious person. Ice Prince.

When Simon accidentally draws Fionna and Cake out of his head, the ritual also frees Ice Prince from Fionna’s head. He will join the trio on their journey across the multiverse in search of a crown while trying to figure out just who he is outside of Fionna’s fantasy.

“Spain, nej,” Wilhelm protests weakly, already accepting defeat when she grins toothily at him.

“Sweden, sí,” Simona says sweetly as she intertwines their fingers together, tugging Wilhelm down the corridor and towards the direction of the ballroom they have escaped from.

“Think about it, it’s mutually beneficial. We pretend to be courting, August will leave me alone for the rest of the night, and your mother will stop trying to set you up with every single upper class girl in the country to turn you straight, because you have landed yourself with a Crown Princess,” Simona basically skips down the corridor, sounding way too pleased with her ploy.

Crown Princess of Spain and closeted lesbian Simon enlists her newly befriended queer kindred spirit, the anxious second born of the Swedish Crown, to launch their social media campaign as a totally heterosexual fairytale darling royal couple. Nothing scandalous at all.

Prediction (?) for Fionna and Cake

Please tell me we're going to see this guy in the next episode.

Please tell me that Episode 5 opens with Simon going "I need to become the Ice King again >:| " and Fionna like "...ok sure" and the gang goes to find the Crown from somewhere in the multiverse.

(Fionna is 1. unfamiliar with the world she's in and doesn't know the Ice King lore, 2. still on an adrenaline high from her first big adventures in Ooo and the Time Room, and 3. has been shown to be kinda self-centered and emotionally immature. She is in no place to discourage Simon from becoming Ice King again, and would be totally on board with this plan.)

Please tell me that they recover the Crown, Simon puts it on, and...of course, he doesn't become the Ice King again. The Ice King we know and love became a separate guy from Simon centuries ago, and besides, pre-Ice King Simon is a very different person from post-Ice King Simon. Whatever he becomes now after putting on the Crown will be completely different.

(We know that the effects of the Crown react to the wearer's state of mind. Everyone else seems to be idealizing the past, so maybe Simon has begun to do so as well. He sounded so wistful when he was reminiscing about how he could stop whole armies back in the day. Ice Prince from Fionna's dreams might be a manifestation of that idealization. The form he takes under the influence of the Crown should reflect that...)

So please, please tell me that Simon goes on a power trip after putting on the Crown, as F+C suddenly realize that this may have been a very bad idea. Please give us the dissonance between Simon's euphoria and everyone else's abject terror. I am begging for an over-the-top musical number starring Simon the Ice Twink on the piano. We know Simon plays the piano - he had one in the Ice Kingdom and performed at the open mic in Obsidian. PLEASE.

Edit: based on the descriptions for episodes 5 and 6, they'll probably search for the Crown in 5 and get crazy with it in 6. With a side of fluffy gay coffeeshop AU in a disintegrating world. Fun!

His eyes fell to Elaine’s chest, lingering on the exposed skin flushed rising with a steady rhythm. She was warm and velvet-soft against his skin, her sugary floral scent blinding his senses. “I guess you should get that.” Elaine gave a soft smile with her words, in a breathy daze from the kiss. She took in his flushed form, his ears tipped red with cheeks to match; a heaving chest and a now wrinkled shirt pulled up from her grip. He looked good. Inviting even, to point where he could just pull her close and she’d be too caught up in the motions to tether herself off to safety. When the phone went off once more, the pair gave a shared laugh before Warren stepped away with a promise to be right back, his hand reaching for his pocket. Elaine starred at his back as he exited the kitchen, his broad shoulders stretching against the fabric. Feeling heat flush back to her cheeks; she turned back to the sink attempting to relieve the dishes of their unprompted bath.

She blinked away her tears, nails digging into her palms. “Of course daddy, it’ll never happen again.” “Good. Now go and ask for forgiveness, God can only be so merciful.”

So there they were, separated by wooden dividers to their respective corners of the room. Yvette was done first, the nightgown she shrugged on billowing at her ankles as she walked around to her side of the bed. She pulled the tan sheets back and fluffed her pillows before sliding underneath the threaded fabric. They weren’t as heavy compared to the ones at home but they’d fit the job for the night; though she wasn’t sure the prince would be comfortable with such standards. Yet, he climbed in after her; tugging the sheets over his bare shoulders as his head settled against the pillows. He hadn’t bothered to fluff them, and it perhaps was out of habit that he took the chance to take up more than his fair share of the bed. His warm skin brushed against the bare shoulder of Yvette’s body, raising the tiny hairs as goosebumps. “Could you get any closer, your highness? “What’s the matter? Am I not enough to warm you and the bed? Shall I invite another to share the task, perhaps one of the gentleman from the bar.”

Before Warren's fingers could click one last time to cut to noise to mute-forcing them to endure a silent car ride- Elaine took his hand into her own, settling them onto her lap, her thumb caressing his skin. So wrapped up in his own silent nerves, he forgot about the woman’s next to him. In his car. Holding his hand. Trembling from what could be shown as both nervousness and excitement, yet still present in this moment with him. With a deep breath he calmed himself, shifting the car into reverse leaving the waving trees in the distance. Aside from the music, the car was silent-a still beat between the lovers as the rhythm thumped through the speakers; background noise to their thoughts. The trees and other cars passed them with a blur, luck gracing them with green lights until the car was parked in front the apartment. Elaine stepped out of the car first, eager to break away from the suffocating tension. “You can come inside whenever you’re ready. I’m sure you know your way in.”

and let me tell ya, he sure does know his way in.

‘Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake’ Renewed for Season 2 at Max

Max has renewed “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake” for a second season.

A spinoff of “Adventure Time,” which ran on Cartoon Network from 2010 to 2018, the series follows Fionna (Madeleine Martin) and her sidekick, Cake (Roz Ryan), who find themselves in the crosshairs of a powerful new foe, leaving them with no choice but to seek the help of Simon Petrikov, the former Ice King (Tom Kenny). Other characters from from the original series featured in “Fionna and Cake” include Marshall Lee (Donald Glover), Marceline the Vampire Queen (Olivia Olson), Princess Bubblegum (Hynden Walch) and Finn the Human (Jeremy Shada). The cast also includes Andrew Rannells as Gary Prince, Sean Rohani as Prismo and Kayleigh McKee as the Scarab.

The news comes two months after showrunner Adam Muto told Variety he was unsure whether the show would continue, saying, “It’s in discussion. But the person who greenlit the first season is no longer at Max.”

“My hope is that this series did well enough that they feel like they can invest in future seasons,” he added. “What shape that takes, if that’s a ‘Fionna and Cake’ Season 2 or it’s more of an anthology kind of approach and we focus on another character, is still kind of up in the air … There’s a running list of what we think could work as a series, what we think could work as a miniseries or a special.”

Muto executive produces “Fionna and Cake” with Fred Seibert and Sam Register in partnership with Cartoon Network Studios.

“To know that the show will continue into a second season feels both wonderful and frankly surreal,” Muto said in a statement upon the renewal. “Thanks to ‘Adventure Time’s’ creator Pendleton Ward, the team at Max, the talented cast & crew and the passionate audience who made this possible.”

Was thinking on the ice prince and the winter kingdom shown in the new episode and it's kind of odd that the ice king would be able to harness the power of the crowns magic, madness and sadness and put it onto bubblegum. The ice king isn't know for being a scientific genius or even for being that good at magic.

I think the mostly likely reason is that that universes version of betty was trying to find a way to save the ice king and that's what she ended up doing. What's curious though is the way ice prince talks about betty and that he seems to already have knowledge of the multiverse and other simons, he isn't even remotely shocked by simon appearing.

I suspect these questions aren't going to get solid answers but the episode as a whole leaves a lot of things unanswered.

How fionna and cake ends for Simon ( not what happens to everyone else ) theory’s:

1) The Hulk method

The ice crowns wish has the same power as Betty’s wish so they cancel each other out and simon does transform from ice king to normal version regularly. This would give us back ice king without losing simon however it feels a little like a retcon.

2) Part of the multiverse

Fionnas world becomes part of the multiverse with her living in a magic dimension and visiting her world regularly and simon living in the normal world visiting the magic one. Good clean and uncomplicated ending but a little too ideal for how this kind of story got written.

3) Tragic God

Simon and skareb end up with Betty who protects simon from him. Only for the boss to come down and tells simon his reason for caring this much about the situation. It is not because of Fionna and cake but more because of Simon and his ability to contain a world in his head, be willing to get cursed again and that his actions affect the world in his head. This is important because the boss made the multiverse with some main events in place which have to happen for the worlds to stay save, simon getting cursed beeing one of those events. But that Betty’s wish combination with her multiverse power saved every Simon from every universe from their crowns, by never letting it happen, ending it or making it harmless. Ending up dooming the multiverse to suffering because he was supposed to have this suffering in him. Showing all the worlds we seen ( winter king beeing happy and candy kingdom falling apart, Simon never getting cursed and vampires taking over ) saying that this is his fault but could be fixed.

If he put the multiverse in simons head like fionnas world currently is and Simon gets cursed, he would take on the suffering every Simon was supposed to have, saving the multiverse. Simon feeling guilty agrees and Betty wanting to save Simon gets in the way. Ending with the combined power of all crowns killing her and golb, but turning Simon into the one true ice emperor. Who has his sanity since Betty paid the price for it, is immortal and the only one with ice powers ( a crown ) left in the multiverse. We see every other crown disappear and it saving the worlds. ( vampire burned by the sun )

Beginning is tragic since the guilt is enorm and Simons agreeing to endless suffering of all crowns is worse than everything else. Having the fate of the multiverse on the table makes it understandable why Simon still does it. Than having Simon saved from insanity by Betty sacrificing herself again is rough ( especially since he is immortal ) however it is not a complete sad ending. Simon got to say goodbye to Betty without her beeing trapped in some monster, only dying peacefully having completed what she wanted, getting real closure. He stays sane and gets his powers back, feeling more connected to reality. And as bonus since he is a cosmic entity now, he can travel the multiverse ( accessing his head ), meeting fionnas world and taking her on adventures with him whenever he wants. Having the option for more seasons with the trio discovering more worlds only this one’s without a crown in them ( he was the one with the remote so it could be foreshadowing for his new power and the ice prince in fionnas dream was a foreshadowing for his new ice emperor role )

It’s tragic but still good, giving options for continuing the story. Giving us something new without losing the old ( having powers without getting ice king back ). Ending the tragedy of Betty and Simon with an actually goodbye and no horrifying worse than death outcomes, making it sad but able to keep living with.

This would be cool and has enough foreshadowing in it ( powers / dreams / worlds endings ) and wraps everything up good but I don’t thing it will go completely like this but more likely in a similar direction. Tragic but still good with some kind of power restored and Betty released from glob.
