My favourite Jonsa AU’s (that are niche and no one actually asked for.)

1. Arranged marriage/marriage of convenience. Bonus points if it’s slow burn. I cant decide if I prefer a Rhaegar wins au (because of the masterpiece that is ‘from instep to heel’ by Orangeflavour) or show-canon S7/8 au where either of them propose a marriage of convenience and slow burn where the line between duty and love blur but actually they’ve been secretly tormented the entire time by their passion for each other without the other knowing until it all culminates into a lengthy confession scene and ensuing smut (basically what should have happened in the show…..smh).

2. Forbidden/illicit relationship pre-parentage reveal (the secret angst is too much for my poor heart to handle.) bonus points if it’s Sansa reuniting with a darker post resurrection Jon at the Wall and Jon is insanely protective over her.

3. Any Jon in King’s Landing au (bonus points if he rescues her and travelling closeness ensues!)

4. Post-Canon QITN / Lord Commander of NW au. Oh gods , this one kills me . (Bonus points if it’s written by thimbleful).

5. Alayne Stone/Lord Commander au (bonus points if Jon actually knows it’s Sansa the entire time, ‘I was born knowing you’ but she doesn’t know HE knows (or perhaps she does and she’s playing along ;).

I think one of my favorite things about Fourever You has been how consistent Ter’s self-esteem, or lack there of, has been driving his unreliable narration. Because it’s such a beautiful and classic queer story of not believing someone would be into you.

From the beginning P’Hill’s behavior has made zero sense against Ter’s anger and frustration and unwillingness to be near him. We as the audience can see how much Hill is into Ter. And it’s meant to be frustrating.

And that’s because Ter doesn’t actually see the reality of the situation. He doesn’t believe someone like P’Hill could actually be into him, so he doesn’t see the adoration. Multiple times he wonders if P’Hill is just doing this to set him up and embarrass him. (Which I don’t know if the children are still doing this but this used to be a popular method of bullies outing assumed queer kids via either catfishing or actually hitting on them. Please see the Republican who pretended to be trans to own the libs). He’s also convinced any woman within five feet of Hill is someone that Hill is into. Because comphet/internalized homophobia comes for us all in its ways. He assumes Hill, who is cool and athletic and gorgeous, must be straight and couldn’t possibly be into him. Ter worries from the past and till now that he assumed too much or Hill was playing with him.

It takes both North and P ‘Mai pointing out at various moments what Hill is actively doing, on multiple occasions, for it to begin to sink in for Ter what is happening.

And yes, it could have been cleared up with a simple conversation, but that would require Ter potentially outing himself. As a young queer man whose father disapproves, outing yourself is dangerous. He’s already worried that Hill is setting him up for being teased and harassed. So instead he wants to avoid Hill to keep his heart safe and from thinking he’s imagining things.

And oh, this is how the queer game of are we just friends or are we dating gets started.

Loved the ending with them actually admitting they’ve both had a crush for so long. Worried about next week.

Just moments from the fight club script that drove me up the wall:

- we could’ve seen Brad Pitt casually sitting in Edward Norton’s lap with a gun in his mouth (as if this stuff wasn’t already gay enough)

- Jack searching for Tyler’s approval in the middle of his fight

- them being a domestic husband and wife (oh my god and Tyler walking up to Jack to get his tie fixed)

- the hilarious acknowledgment that yeah: they are codependent

- Tyler asking Jack to say please and then doing said thing he begged for as a kind gesture

- that. Jack not entering his cave, being in the present, unafraid, wanting Tyler to do the one thing he never really did, appreciate something. Not see everything as disposable and unremarkable.

Anyway. When tyler said he did this for them for us, like okay we get it. Whether he’s emotionally manipulating Jack or not we get it u freaky queer 🙄🤨

Another food recommendation now that its getting real cold here. ATOLE! ☕️

If you haven’t yet heard of atole yet, you’re missing out. It’s the perfect hot drink for any time of day and it’s super easy to make! (This isn’t a recipe, really. More like a general process)

Atole is a sweet, water and/or milk-based drink thickened slightly with cornstarch or corn flour (masa harina)(which is not to be confused with corn meal). Though, my mom likes to experiment with toasted garbanzo beans, barley, oat, and rice, which you can make by optionally toasting and then soaking those grains overnight, blending them into a paste, and using it as a thickener (Garbanzo is quite good! if a bit gritty). Traditionally this drink is sweetened with piloncillo, a kind of cone sugar and easily found in Mexican stores, but whatever sweetener works since this is something for you to make yourself. And who am I to govern what you use? Plain or brown sugar are easy substitutes.

Cinnamon, chocolate, and vanilla are the most popular flavors, I think, but strawberry is a common one you can also find in atole packet mixes. Atole mixes are also common in mexican/latin markets, as far as I know. The brand here is the one I used to have as a kid.

The general process is super simple:

For however much you want to make, say 4 cups, you can take about 1 cup of that in water and simmer it with cinnamon sticks to your desired strength (5-15 min depending on water quantity. Mom says color is a good indicator). You should add your cone sugar here if using. (The most simple atole I know of is pretty much thickened cinnamon tea!)

Once steeped you can add 3 cups milk, the starch slurry, and sugar, if you haven’t already. Note: always mix starches with a small quantity of water or milk for a recipe like this. Adding them straight into the pot results in clumps.

Then just stir constantly for a few minutes on a medium-ish heat until the starches set. Feel free to flavor with chocolate powder, vanilla, both, or whatever other spice if you’re the experimental type. (I’d personally like to try a chai flavored atole, that’s sounds pretty good rn ngl)

Overall, it’s a minimum 3 ingredient drink! 5 ingredients max. Don’t like cinnamon? Leave it out! The whole point is to warm up, so whatever works for you ���� and make extra! It stores well enough in the fridge :D
