POV: you see your heretical 8 year old son in the street
Art of my Tav Athanasius as a child (with the simplest fucking background I could throw together, I hate backgrounds). He is my blorbo and I love rotating him in my head.
In drawing this piece I was thinking about if elf children are like kittens and have extra big ears that they have to grow into. Also his freckles extend to his ears and this brings me a lot of joy.
The backstory behind this piece, if anyone is interested:
His parents were Lathander worshippers and friends and patrons of Rosymorn monastery. His mother had actually switched to Lathander's faith when marrying his father, and originally worshipped the traditional god of the elves, even though elvish had barely been passed down in the family after several generations of living in Baldur’s gate.
They had promised to send their second son to join the monastery when he was old enough to make the journey with some traders. When this son was born they even named him after one of the great figures in the church of Lathander, the Monk known as Athanasius i confessoris, or Athanasius the confessor, known to the elves as Athanasius an aidmheil.
But Athansius felt uneasy about being shipped off to the monastery, as he did not feel a strong faith towards Lathander, and did not want to give up his freedom. But whenever he and his parents had passed the temple of Tymora in the upper city he felt a strange pull towards the image of the smiling lady.
So a few days before his planned departure he ran away from home in the middle of the night and turned up on the temple of Tymora’s doorstep. The high priest found him asleep there the next morning and when he pleaded to be allowed to join the temple as an initiate he told him that there is no reward without risk, and asked if he was willing to be tested.
The test of whether a child is favoured by Tymora, is that they are brought into a room in the inner sanctum of the temple and seated before a blind priestess, who quickly makes a neat, diagonal cut across the child’s face with a fine, delicate knife. If she misses the eyes and marks the center, it is a sign that the child is favoured by Tymora and will be able to rise high in the ranks of the temple. If the left eye is damaged, they can still join, but will be more limited in station. If the right eye is cut, they are refused entry, and sent instead to the temple of Ilmater to be taken in there, so that the crying one can protect them from Beshaba’s influence.
Athanasius passed the test and joined the temple as an initiate. Being marked in this way also helped to deter thieves or kidnappers when the children were out at market or playing in the streets, because favourable luck was so crucial to successful crime that most criminals would avoid harming a child of Tymora and angering her.
It was perhaps this ritual that angered his parents to the point of disowning him entirely, since the monastery would never accept a child marked by another temple, and the style of cut was distinctive.
The first time they glimpsed him in public (after looking for him for weeks) his father ran up to him with relief and grasped him by the shoulders, only to look into his face and realize what he had done. Initially, he was furious and started shouting, but then he appeared to calm down and was simply like, come Elena, I was mistaken; this child is not our son. And that was the last time his parents ever spoke to him; after that whenever they encountered one another in the street both parent and child would turn their faces away and pass one another in silence.
I have published the first in a series of fics featuring his time with the party on Ao3, called “A Servant of Tymora” ^^

Infernal Jurisprudence: Chapter 5
Summary: Raphael sees two sides of Tav and decides he wants them both.
[AO3]
Rating: 18+
Chapter 5: The Priest and the Priestess
Raphael’s pet adventurers ventured further into the goblin camp. He imagined that the camp was infested with a permanent stench much the same as when he tortured his debtors by turning the food of his dining hall into rot. Except, the food the goblins consumed appeared to be mostly fresh, the rot in this case seemed to be inherent to the goblins themselves.
Tavara negotiated for an Owlbear cub. Raphael was never a fan of animals, as they brought too much chaos with their very natures. The Owlbear cub would not be welcomed in the House of Hope. Raphael had reluctantly decided that should Tavara demand it, he would allow her to bring her white dog to the House of Hope when she became his consort. Though the beast would never be allowed in his room or his bed or his archive or his study or his parlor or really most rooms in the House of Hope.
Raphael’s investments entered a dilapidated temple of Selune searching for a healer. They happened upon a rack and a half-naked man being beaten crudely by goblins. Amateurs.
Tavara managed to convince the torturers of her status as an agent of their goddess and bid them to leave. Raphael was highly disappointed that his Mouse had decided not to continue to torture the bloody man strapped to the rack in exchange for information. It would have been invigorating to discover such a delectable streak of violence within her soul. Though, he should not have expected such violence from her hands, as they preferred to caress instead of cut.
The vampling quickly freed the prisoner, and the tortured man limped through a passageway in the temple wall to escape.
A nearby room held a priest of Loviatar praying to his goddess with acts of self-flagellation. Raphael found the gods insufferable, though Loviatar’s cruelty made her significantly more tolerable than Lathander or Selune. At least this priest seemed like he was likely to provide more interesting conversation than a tortured man who could barely speak a few sentences or an entire camp of goblins.
The priest stood and addressed the Little Mouse. “Greetings child. I’ve met few aside from goblins here.”
“A follower of the goddess of pain?” the Sharran asked with a smile and a light laugh.
“Loviatar? You didn’t want to assist with the prisoner they were torturing?” the Mouse asked him.
“I live for pain and its intricacies, you see, but they insisted on being so primitive.” Raphael agreed with the priest. Torture could and should be significantly more inventive. The man Tavara freed would have been singing for his captors the moment he was forced to drag his cock through a pile of broken glass. That would have been significantly more interesting to watch than a simple beating.
“Pain without purpose is such a terrible thing, wouldn’t you agree?” Raphael didn’t like the way the priest was looking up and down over Tavara’s form with a smile on his face. If the priest wouldn’t have liked it so much, Raphael would have whipped him a few times with his own scourge to teach him a lesson in manners.
“It’s appalling,” Tavara answered easily. Perhaps she had a more ruthless side to her soul after all.
“Exactly, pain is an intimate thing.” Raphael hated the insinuations the priest was making with his Little Mouse. “It should be delivered with a loving and measured hand.” There was a distinct purr in his voice that Haarlep often used in the Boudoir. If Tavara wanted that kind of pain so much, Raphael would be pleased to demonstrate it for her instead of her learning it in a filthy goblin camp.
The priest appeared empathetic as he looked into the Little Mouse’s eyes. “Forgive me, but there’s a look in your eye, something terrible has happened to you, hasn’t it?” Nothing that Raphael couldn’t fix.
“There are many terrible things that have happened to us, but I am hoping to have a solution to our problems very soon.” Of course, the answer was Raphael. “The situation has been quite a burden.”
“Dear child, please let me alleviate the pain of the burdens you carry.” Tav cocked an eyebrow at him. “I can alleviate this pain through penance, delivered by a skilled hand. As the Maiden of Pain, the goddess Loviatar teaches us.” While Raphael hated the sexual undertones of the priest’s commentary, there was no chance the situation would become carnal with all of Tavara’s foolish companions standing in the room.
The Tiefling was laughing and encouraged Tavara to experience the rite. “I just have to see this!” The Warlock looked deeply uncomfortable and offered the Little Mouse a reluctant smile.
“Alright,” Tavara shrugged. “Why not?” The look of shock on some of her companion’s faces was delicious. Raphael was excited to see how his Mouse would take to the scourge. He hadn’t even started to mentally catalogue which bedroom activities she enjoyed.
“Oh I have something exquisite in mind. Both Loviatar and I are interested in seeing how you handle pain, dear one.” As was Raphael. “Should you delight her, you will receive her blessing.” Raphael was amused as he watched the Priest of Loviatar slowly circle his Little Mouse. She had a slight smirk on her face. “Face the wall, and we can begin.”
Tavara moved across the room to a small alcove. She stood close to the wall, facing the bloodstained bricks. Her soft hands undid the fastenings on her sorceress robes and she pulled them down over her shoulders, exposing her corset. She began to unlace her undergarments, and the foolish wizard quickly fled from the room, followed closely by the Warlock.
Tavara was naked from the waist up with her robes still tied around her hips. She handed the discarded corset to the Sharran, who took it with an amused smirk.
“This is a side of you none of us have seen before,” the cleric teased.
“We’ve bathed in the river together, you’ve seen the other side too,” Tavara mused back.
Raphael was eagerly waiting to see what would happen next and wishing he could reach through the mirror and turn her around so he could see her face. And her breasts. He very much wanted to see those.
Tavara braced herself on the stone bricks, taking a deep breath to try to relax through the rite.
Singing sweetly from his dreams
Loviatar called to use the scourge,
His brave Little Mouse is bare and screams
A delightful image to sate his urge
The crack of the scourge left a bloody mark on the Little Mouse’s back and she cried out. Her knees buckled slightly and her fingers were desperately clinging to the mortar between the bricks on the bloodstained wall. Despite this, she regained her composure quickly. Raphael was fixated on watching her. He had no idea she had these kinds of tastes.
“You are doing so well, do not give in now!” the priest praised her. Did she like that too?
“Would you have joined up with Tav if you knew she was indulging in this sort of thing, Astarion?” the Sharran asked while the Tiefling behind them was cackling with laughter.
“I mean, I had my hopes,” the vampling admitted as another crack was unleashed across Tavara’s back. Blood trickled out of the two lash marks.
“Don’t wear her out entirely, priest, I may have use for her when we get back to camp,” the Sharran said in a flirty voice. Raphael hoped she wasn’t serious, but if she was it would make the decision on whether the Gith or the Sharran was the expendable party a significantly simpler decision.
One more lick of the scourge and Tavara cried out again. She didn’t falter or give in. Her cries were loud. The sight of her half naked, bloodied, and willingly enduring more was something Raphael found fascinating.
The penance was completed and a blessing was given after Tavara had redressed. The vision of her like that was completely erotic.
Raphael set the scrying mirror down on his desk. If he kept watching her, there was no way he was getting any more work completed that day.
****
Raphael received several sendings from Korrilla that Tavara was in danger. She had made a mockery of Gut the goblin priestess and had been taken hostage and locked in a cell in Gut’s chambers. Korilla had assured him that she would step in if the sorceress wasn’t able to free herself or talk the priestess down.
Raphael immediately grabbed his scrying mirror to observe and noticed several things that Korrilla had failed to mention within the short word limits of the sending spell.
The Little Mouse was chained to the cell floor on her knees by thick iron manacles around her wrists and ankles. Her wrists were bound to her ankles and she knelt completely helpless.
The other critical piece of information that Korrilla had neglected to tell him was that the Little Mouse was completely naked. The pathetic priestess had disrobed his Little Mouse in case she was carrying any weaponry or lockpicks.
Raphael took his time observing her. There was a slight glisten of sweat on her skin from nervousness. Her thighs were splayed, giving Raphael a full view of her sex. There were shimmering white scales decorating her inner thighs. His Little Mouse was such a sight to behold, and Raphael drank it in completely.
If the goblins had decided to attack his Little Mouse right now, Korrilla would spirit her away to the House of Hope, and Raphael would have a full view of a naked and chained Mouse on the desk of his study. She would definitely want to thank him for his heroism.
Tavara was chained for the better part of a day, the priestess was waiting for an Illithid transformation that would never occur. Her companions were panicking, but the priestess had convinced them that the extraction was successful and her hostage needed to rest in a quiet and comfortable space. Raphael never would have believed such a ridiculous lie. Even the pathetic wizard wasn’t questioning the word of a stupid goblin.
Raphael checked on her often, seeing her small mortal form shift to try to find a comfortable position with the chains on the stone of the cell.
When the priestess returned to find a stiff and sore human woman chained and sleeping in her cell, she became irate. “Open your peepers, freak!” The goblin slapped Tavara hard across the cheek hard enough to knock her over onto her side and a yelp of pain emerged from her lips. Unlike her cries at the lick of the scourge, Raphael was not enchanted by that noise.
Raphael was fuming at both a goblin and a Dwarf. Where was Korrilla?
“You should be sprouting tentacles by now, but you’re still the same kind of ugly you always was.” Raphael felt personally insulted by this.
He spotted his favored Warlock emerging from a portal on the other side of the chapel. Korrilla burned the heart of the priestess’s Ogre protector into ash within the creature’s chest. The large beast immediately fell dead on the stones.
“Disappointing not to have my own squiddie, but your giblets will make for a tasty supper,” the priestess raised a dagger to harm the helpless Little Mouse, but Korrilla came up from behind her and slit the goblin’s throat. Blood sprayed everywhere, covering Tavara’s naked form.
This, too, was a highly erotic sight.
His disheveled Little Mouse sat naked and chained in a cell, bound for him and completely helpless. Blood dripped down her body. Raphael could almost taste the scent of sulfur and iron. A trail of blood ran over her scales, leaving small red crystals where they froze. She was unable to cover herself or clean the blood away.
“Sorry - I may have left that a little late. No lasting damage I hope?” Korrilla inquired as she went to break the chains.
“And who are you?” Tavara asked, running her hands over her wrists and ankles, raw from the manacles.
“Korrilla Hearthflame, at your service.” Korrilla was certainly being polite enough, but Raphael would have bowed. Manners . “You’ve made quite an impression on my master, he sends his regards.”
“Your master? Raphael?” Tavara asked with an incredulous look on her face.
“Yes, yes,” Korrilla said hurriedly, anxious to get back to service. “He’s very interested in your condition,” she explained but trailed off slightly. “...and you.”
“Thank you,” Tavara offered quietly as Korrilla disappeared again. She bent over to pick up her clothing, realizing that all of it would be covered in blood. The Little Mouse searched for a ewer of water, but she settled for placing an iron cauldron of frost from her veins into a pot over the fire in the hearth to melt.
There was a click in the lock on the door, and it swung open with a pack of angry and concerned adventurers. The Tiefling ran to Tavara’s discarded clothing, and she and the Gith quickly searched the room for their missing companion.
“Soldier!” the Tiefling exclaimed as she saw his Little Mouse, tending a cauldron of slush on the hearth. “We thought you were in trouble! Why are you covered in blood?” she demanded with the flames on her skin flickering higher.
“And why are you naked?” the Gith demanded.
“She’s what?” the wizard exclaimed before quickly covering his eyes. He should, or else Raphael would have to pry them from his skull with a butter knife.
“Well, Priestess Gut is dead,” Tavara offered lamely. “She was about to cook and eat me, and one of Raphael’s warlocks killed her. The blood isn’t mine.” Raphael puffed his chest out with pride.
“Tas’ki! Again, istik, why exactly are you naked?” the Gith demanded again.
“Priestess Gut disrobed me before chaining me in that cell over there. She was waiting for me to start ceremorphosis.”
“So the goblin priestess was unable to remove the parasite?” the vampling asked, blatantly running his eyes over bloodied and naked Tavara. “Oh, my my,” he purred. “ Twice in a row, it seems.”
“No, she was unaware of her own infection,” the Little Mouse confirmed.
“Bloody Hells,” the Sharran said with an exasperated tone at the sight of Raphael’s Mouse. “Gale, can you just come here and clean Tav using prestidigitation?”
“No,” the wizard whined in refusal.
“Fine,” the cleric said with a grumpy, frustrated tone. “Aqua pura!” Water splashed over the Little Mouse’s form, and diluted streaks of blood washed from her body. She was still covered in diluted goblin blood but was significantly cleaner. The Sharran handed her her robes and clothing. Tavara dressed herself quickly.
“Can we look now?” the foolish wizard asked with exasperation.
“You can look,” Tavara said hurriedly as she pulled on her boots.
“Well, this was certainly interesting,” the vampling continued to muse.
Raphael set the scrying mirror down on his desk. He snapped and arrived in the Boudoir.
Haarlep greeted him with a low, lusty purr. They crawled to him on all fours, their wings gently flapping behind them.
“Change into the Archduchess,” Raphael ordered. His incubus immediately complied. The purring continued at a higher pitch.
Raphael snapped and both of them were moved into an empty cell in his dungeons. His cells and the cell in the goblin camp weren’t exactly the same, but that was starting to matter less and less.
Haarlep growled. “Master, well this is certainly an exciting development!” They paced around the cell, absently touching the dim torches and rusty chains dangling from the walls. “If I had known you liked this kind of play so much, we would have done it far more often.”
Raphael collected a set of manacles from a rack. “Strip,” he ordered quickly. Haarlep removed their harness and proudly stood naked before him. “Kneel,” Raphael instructed. The incubus dropped to their knees. Raphael chained their ankles and wrists together. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close.
There was certainly a debtor he could obtain fresh blood from. Though the Little Mouse probably wouldn’t like that. She would rather be clean when bared for him like this.
Raphael pushed Haarlep onto their back on the stone floor. Raphael snapped to remove his clothing and knelt between Haarleps spread knees. The incubus was twisting to give him better access. Raphael knelt between their knees and promptly entered them. He let out a deep groan of satisfaction.
He closed his eyes, picturing how she looked on the floor of the cell. She was so tight and wet around him. She was thanking him for rescuing her.
Haarlep kept trying to capture his mouth to give him venom. Raphael refused. He didn’t want to be raging with demonic lust while he lay with his Little Mouse. He pressed his mouth to the incubus’s neck to avoid receiving their saliva. He buried his face in Tavara’s hair. Hells, he wanted to lick the sweat off of her neck while he lay with her.
“Master,” Haarlep cooed. Yes, in this state, the Little Mouse would probably call him master.
“You’re lucky I was able to save you, my dear,” Raphael groaned between thrusts.
“Yes, I am so, so lucky,” The incubus murmured in his ear. Raphael tried to ignore every grunt or moan coming from the incubus.
“I would never have let her kill you,” Raphael said softly into the Little Mouse’s ear. “I ensured you were protected.”
“Oh my hero,” Haarlep moaned below him. He did save her.
Raphael closed his eyes again and remembered the lewd noises the Little Mouse would make while she pleasured herself. She was making those noises now. Now, she wouldn’t need to cover her mouth to stifle them.
Raphael came inside of his incubus with a deep, chesty groan. He rode out his pleasure and withdrew from Haarlep. They were licking their lips and seductively spreading their knees, so Raphael could see his seed dripping out of them.
“Defiling a beautiful maiden you saved from a dark dungeon, my gallant knight?” the incubus teased. “I could have been so much more virginal for you.” They demurely pressed their knees together.
“No,” Raphael didn’t elaborate. He snapped and was redressed. Without another word, he turned away from the incubus and left the dungeons.
A/N:
Huge thanks to @courier-jackalope for her idea about torturing someone by running their dick over broken glass. I struggle to think of enough really deranged ways to torture people. Raphael would not be impressed by my torture prowess. Leave me a message, suggest a new torture method! I'll add it and give you a credit for the idea!

Wanted to give a closer look at the scars Voradras has, infos under cut!
Two scars crossing over his nose, given to him by his older sister when he refused to kill a slave
circular spellscar in the shape of a stylized sun, from his resurrection at a temple of Lathander
Four huge gashes on his side from the fight against the dragon Venomfang in Neverwinter
stab-wound from a fight in Melee-Magthere
several cuts across his arms from weapon training
whip scars across his back from the many-headed snake whips of Lolth priestesses
he wears all his scars without shame and isn't afraid to show them, he especially loves to tell the story of the dragon scars and how he and another partymember died in that fight because it was quite frankly, very ridiculous. He takes it all with a lot of humor, it's also a way for him to cope with the trauma he's been through.

So all my drow/half-drow Tav’s are related via one very slutty assassin dad. None of them ever meet, it’s just a bit out outside lore for them.
Their dad is a son of House Auvry’val (cousin to Nym’s bio dad) and is an assassin usually sent to hunt outside enemies who make it to the surface. He has CHA 20 and does not believe in protection. His name is Szindahrys.
Ellywick’s mom was from a rival house whom he seduced. She’s rather young for a matriarch and due to some cutthroat politics couldn’t risk an illegitimate child from a rival house so she abandoned her newborn in the underdark where a deep gnome expedition party from BG found her and one of them adopted her.
Jen’s mom is a sheep farmer/herder with a lineage to a silver dragon. Was a widow with one daughter already and remarried after Jen’s birth with a second daughter.
Victyrr’s mom is a priestess of Lathander who lives in the underdark, protecting a community of escaped slaves from Lolth ran cities. She has a lineage to devas.

Get to Know My Tav!
I wasn’t tagged this go around (Someone remind me to do this for Xifiel bc I was definitely tagged in the Durge edition😅) HOWEVER! Introducing the ✨Syraela (BG3) edition✨
Syraela Thaterel / Half-Elf / Cleric of Selûne / She/Her / 21
What’s your Tavs…
Favorite Weapon: Blood of Lathander (Although she’d prefer a mace from Selûne, she won’t refuse a blessing!)
Style of Combat: Defensive/Support; Syraela has never been much of a fighter, but she was always a damn good cleric. She will keep her allies healed and distract enemies if someone else can do the heavy hitting.
Most Prized Possession: A pair of lapis lazuli earrings that were gifted to her by her mother after she succeeded in her Selûnite Rite of Passage.
Deepest Desire: She has dreams of gaining the position of a high priestess at her temple. It would be the HIGHEST honor!
Guilty Pleasure: Syraela secretly admires ancient Sharran temples. She has no love for the goddess, but she admires the architectural handiwork of her followers.
Best-Kept Secret: Admiration for Shadowheart before she became a Selûnite. She doesn’t agree with her faith, but considering Shadowheart is the first companion she gains, she accepts it. But she also respects her for being proud of her faith despite it not being ideal.
Greatest Strength: Her faith. Syraela lives by Selûne’s teaching and sees the good in everyone. In her words, “The Moonmaiden’s light will help them find their path.”
Fatal Flaw: She takes people at face value, someone who seems good is good and someone who seems bad has the capacity for good. She lets her better judgement of people blind her to evil or dark characteristics.
Favorite Smell: Citrus scents and honey
Favorite Spell or Cantrip: Spirit Guardians (Radiant)
Pet Peeve: People who believe that violence is the best/only way. This is the main reason why she bumps head with La’zael so much early on.
Bad Habit: Tends to talk to herself a lot, although she doesn’t view it as a bad habit. The others have varying opinions though.
Hidden Talent: Silver tongue. Syraela herself doesn’t understand it, but she is quite convincing. If she was raised among nobility, it’s quite possible she could’ve been an ambassador or representative.
Leisure Activity: Syraela enjoys cooking! She’s no master chef, but she has some skills. (She also gets lessons from Gale!)
Favorite Drink: Moonslake (An alcoholic apple cider that she tried from a halfling friend, she doesn’t indulge often but she loves it!)
Comfort Food: Faerûnian Fried Rice (Her mother makes it the best!)
Favorite Person: Wyll Ravenguard (Especially after their dance😉)
Favorite Display of Affection (Platonic and/or Romantic): Words of affirmation is her main way of showing affection to her friends as she believes in them. Romance is new for her, Wyll is really her first and last love. But she finds that she likes holding his hand and kissing his cheek the most.
Fondest Childhood Memory: The celebration following the successful completion of her Rite of Passage. Celebrating with her fellow Selûnites and her mom was one of the best nights of her life.

*as Marius sleeps, a shadow wraps around him, like a comforting hug. He hears a whisper of a woman with a soft voice, with an accent similar to Lethica's*
My priestess cares for you a lot, knight of Lathander.... Though your god and I are not allies, I will still grant you my blessing as she has sacrificed for...
*The shadows wrap tighter*
I cannot sever your Dutchess from you completely, she does own you... But I can give you some relief...
*The voice of the Dutchess fades- it's not gone, and it will take a while to fade, eventually going completely after several days*
Sweet dreams, Knight of Lathander... Take good care of my priestess.....
*Marius wakes up, remembering all of this*
(@lethica-nightborne)
*Marius jolts up awake. He looks to see Jericho still by his side and begins to calm down. He can't tell if he's happy or worried about what just happened and if he should ask Lethica about what she did to make this happen*
Oh Gods… Please don't tell me you did something stupid for me, darling…
*He lays there thinking about how much both of his lovers are willing to go through for his happiness. He didn't deserve this, he doesn't deserve either of them, he's being selfish. Everything that they do for him, he doesn't deserve. Why are they doing everything for nothing? Why do they care so much? What do they gain from this? Why does he hate loving this feeling?
Tears start rolling down his cheeks. He bites his lip to not make any noise, his fangs digging into his flesh. It hurt. It hurt but he deserved it. He wipes his tears away and hugs Jericho as close as he can to his body*
I'll protect the both of you…
*Blood runs down his chin from the puncture wounds that cut deep in his skin*
I swear I will…

BG3 Tav Backstory Bash
This is a challenge to help people flesh out their Tav’s backstory by exploring their past. It is organized into four sections with seven prompts. You can treat this as a monthly challenge or a general project. You can write headcanons, fics, or share art based on the prompts! You can interpret the prompts however you want. If you want to share use the tag #bg3backstorybash
Thank you @elspethdekarios for tagging me!
I´ve seen most of my choices have already been tagged, so I´ll tag the remaining ones that come to mind.
@galesdevoteewife @necromosss @theletteraesc @gufu-vire
I have not worked through all of the prompts, so do not forget to take a look at @kelandrin's original post where all prompts can be found.
Athena Dekarios née Asteriadis
High Half-Elf • Paladin-Cleric• Acolyte of Lathander • Neutral Good
Parents
Father: Amicus Asteriadis
Human artist and craftsman who was unpredictable in his violent tendencies and preference for sticking to himself. He moved to Baldur´s Gate as a young man once he found out his love - Athena´s mother - was planning on running away to the city.
Mother: Keylana Alastrarra
High-born Elf from the noble house of Alastrarra in Cormanthyr. She fell in love with Amicus, while he was performing in the city. Her parents disapproved, so she ran away to Baldur´s Gate in the hopes of a future with him. She became a merchant, but quickly let herself become corrupted. Knowing no responsibility, erratic behavior grew and she ended up taking lovers. Having grown up with money - which she no longer had - she was in the habit of spending too much; leading to terrible conflicts with her husband. (Who was a mere craftsman and very thrifty.)
Birth
Athena was the firstborn and came 8 years before her brother. Her birth was easy, unlike the pregnancy which had been heavy with nausea. She knew her mother had sung to her as a baby and toddler, even having gone so far as to invent her own lullaby for her, but later on their bond became severed and Athena was incapable of forming a bond with her mother. Her father was the one always there for her, despite his violent behavior and emotional abuse towards her. The abuse she had to suffer built the foundation for her strong personality later on, making it difficult for her to trust others.
First word
Plain old "Dada" followed by "bread".
When they first walked
Once Athena started walking at the age of 11 months, nothing was safe. She was particularly interested in books - but not necessarily in looking at them, but rather to use them as countertop for her baking experiments. She was scolded more than once for playing with flour on a green covered book, which she later found out was a book about plants and their different uses.
Tantrum
Athena would never forget that one tantrum she threw as a toddler, where she was on a flea market and saw a mountain lion plush toy. She wanted it so badly that she cried bitter tears, begged and threw herself to the ground. It was the same day she had been too trusting when faced with a big dog, who nearly bit her hand off. To her astonishment, she got the Mountain Lion plush toy. (And still feels bad for having acted out as a toddler.)
First sickness
Measles
Friends
Never really had friends, due to her mistrustful nature and difficulty in forming bonds. She was the awkward know-it-all who did her own thing. Later on Jaheira becomes her best friend.
Siblings
Has a younger brother - Evan - which she basically raised due to neglectful parents. They both know they are there for each other when necessary, but barely maintain contact. He owns a tavern in Waterdeep.
Getting into trouble
Despite her parents´ boasting about her to outsiders, she remains the black sheep of the family due to her reluctance in complying with her father´s demands and open hostility towards her mother´s behavior. She ran away often as a teen, once her parents had separated shortly after her brother´s birth.
Birthday Eleasis 13th
Learning something new
As a Priestess of Lathander she is on a constant journey of self-improvement, which includes learning. May it be combat, medicine or a new spell - she is always gaining new knowledge.
Trauma
One of her mother´s lovers sexually harassed her,
and a boy from the neighborhood tried to assault her. (It didn´t end well for him, but it made her even more cautious.)
First love
She fell in love with Jidam - a classmate who had longer brown hair and striking blue eyes - when she was thirteen years old. He mistreated her and made her the laughingstock of their year, but her devotion never faltered. A girl she thought her friend ended up getting involved with him.
Rebellion
Moved out as a teen and sought refuge in Lathander´s Temple in Waterdeep where she became an Acolyte.
Reckless behavior
Athena never was one for recklessness. Her difficult childhood and devotion to Lathander gifted her with wisdom beyond her years.
Peer pressure
Athena was known for her defiance of the masses and did not cave to peer pressure. The only time she fell for peer pressure she ended up stealing something from a big shop around the corner. Feeling bad afterwards, she donated everything stolen; keeping only four books which made her difficult younger years bearable.
Growing pains
Growing pains plagued her during her teens - usually at night. She could feel it in her bones but never complained.
Taking responsibility
All the responsibility seemed to be on her shoulders from an early age on. First the mediator between parents, then the bodyguard of her mother when lovers turned too unpleasant, afterwards a mother to her brother.
Serious relationships
She only had one partner before Gale and was engaged to him.
Stephanus was a very analytical and stoic man, who had difficulties showing affection, lusted after other women and was an egoistical lover. He was averse to building a family, and Lathander was not pleased to see his Chosen in a union with such a man, leading to a conversation between the god and Athena. She eventually broke up.
Work
She used to serve Lathander in the Spires of the Morning. Later on she became a Paladin of Lathander, serving as a member of the Order of Aster.
Once she returns to Waterdeep with Gale, she becomes a Priestess of Lathander - she also teaches and practices midwifery in that function.
Aging
Due to her nature as a half-elf and being blessed by Lathander, as well as married to the Chosen of Mystra, who could prolong life, she could technically live forever.
Starting a family
Athena and Gale end up being the parents of three children - two boys and a girl.

Mia Ironheart | Asmodeus Tiefling | Cleric | Chaotic Good
“Lots of tiefling kids end up as 'orphans'. Sometimes new parents don't know they even have infernal blood in their line until their kid pops out with red skin and a cute little baby tail. A lot of them end up on the doorstep of orphanages, or temples, or on the streets. I struck lucky with my dads. The last person to call me 'foulblood' got half his teeth knocked out by Pops. Da literally had to wrestle him off the other guy or they both would have gotten arrested."
Mia is the perfect example of why I should not be left unsupervised in the BG3 character creator. What started as a tiefling warlock build, ended as a tiefling cleric of Lathander a few hours of switching hair colours and staring into space later.
Her backstory is pretty simple, but I'm very fond of how non-tragic is it compared to my other characters. She was given up by her birth parents (who she never met) when she was a few days old alledgedly because she was born a tiefling. And just a week later she got adopted by her new dads -- Garrick (Pops) and Alphonse (Da) -- a dwarf and elf couple respectivly who'd just retired from adventuring and were looking to start a family together.
She grew up in a happy, healthy, reasonably well off family in the Lower City, and eventually started training as a junior priestess in the Lathander temple her Da served at -- him working there as a healer, while her Pops works as a jeweller. A part of me likes to imagine they knew Karlach's parents, although the kids probably never really interacted.
Then one day Mia was rudely abducted off the street by ilithids on her way to work at the temple in the Upper City, and she'd like nothing better than to get home and reasure her likely panicking parents that she's not dead.

compendium of companion hcs : general.
where can zuriel be recruited? is first encountered on the nautiloid, or in the nautiloid crash region? or is she not recruitable until a later act?
as mentioned before, zuriel is recruitable in act 1. you can find her entering the map right before the mountain pass / bridge in the northwest part of the wilderness map, after facing the githyanki patrol. she will ask you if you saw the red dragon flying away. engaging in conversation with her, she'll tell you she's traveling in the same direction as you and follow you to the rosymorn monastery.
what sort of general actions raise or lower her approval?
zuriel approves of kind actions, though she will also approve of being a dick or lying to enemies.
are there any instances where zuriel can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions?
in act 1, should zuriel be found before completing the rescue the druid halsin quest, if tav betrays the tieflings at the grove she will leave the party. in act 2, she will leave the party if shadowheart kills the nightsong.
does she have any secrets that can be revealed? what are the prerequisites for this secret coming to light?
not necessarily a secret, but she will share more about her life at home and family early on if your pc is a tiefling or a follower of any deity allied with lathander (like tyr or selûne) doesn't have to be a cleric or paladin! people can be religious regardless of class, specially since RAW forgotten realms everyone in faerûn must follow a deity in some shape or form, otherwise their soul will be yeeted to the wall of the faithless in the afterlife. most people with align themselves with a deity, this can influence zuriel's perception and initial reaction towards them.
does she have her own personal quest that spans the course of the game? can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the player character makes?
as said before part 2, zuriel's personal quest is pretty short and it takes place entirely at the end of act 1 in tandem with the find the githyanki creche quest. she's on a mission to investigate what happened in the rosymorn monastery, she was sent by her mother who is a high priestess of lathander in archendale after the communication between the rosymorn monastery and the archendale temple seems to have been abruptly interrupted.
upon learning that the githyanki attacked the monastery and took over the building, her quest objective updates to finding the blood of lathander before the githyanki find it as it is a sacred relic. in order to keep zuriel as your ally you must let her take and keep the mace.
what do they say when the player character asks her to stay in camp? how about when the player character asks her to come adventuring again?
> “ wait for me in camp. ” “ you sure...? alright, but i'll be on stand-by ready to go if you need me. ”
> “ come, dawnknight. join me. ” “ it's smitin' time! ”
does zuriel have any escalating conflicts with one of the other companions, like lae’zel and shadowheart’s knife-fight?
she won't pull out a knife, but she will be icy towards shadowheart at first due to her being a cleric of shar given shar and lathander are enemies.
are there any unique npcs associated with zuriel that can show up during the course of the game?
zuriel's mother, dawnbringer āl azif, is a relevant character to her quest. she does not show up but is mentioned when zuriel explains her mother and the clergy in their temple have not heard back from dawnmaster vaseid or anyone else in rosymorn for months so she's given the mission of investigating and saving the relic hidden beneath the monastery.
are there any moments in the game that trigger unique dialogue for zuriel? (like gale’s anecdote about the barfight after you save the goblin prisoner)
after isobel and aylin join the camp, talking to them before initiating conversation with zuriel unlocks a funny exchange between zuriel and tav where zuriel shares that her mother is an aasimar like dame aylin.
tav can ask "how is it possible for an aasimar to have a tiefling child" to which zuriel responds she's "a tiefling like her father" and immediately adds she's in fact adopted. then tav can comment simply "that makes sense, it explains it all" or "i wonder if a tiefling and an aasimar would counteract each other's ancestries and have a plain human child", this last option makes zuriel laugh and gives 5 points of approval from her. either response is followed up by zuriel sharing that she has many siblings, some were conceived by her parents instead of adopted and those siblings are all tieflings, therefore she believes tieflings always breed true while the celestial ancestry of an aasimar is recessive.
#THIS IS SO LONG but it was fun write#i'm separating these in 3 parts bc it would be too long otherwise#im sorry for being so extra rip#˗ˏˋ 🩷 ˎˊ˗⠀character study.#/ long post#companion guide.

finds out about kagha's involvement with the shadow druids, proceeds to return to the grove for the confrontation (just to help buy the refugees more time)
at this point she begins to experience immense chest pains, unsure why. but they're bearable (think of it as a warning for her oath being on the border of being broken)
meets karlach, advocates hard on her behalf; kills the paladins of tyr
meets the dragonborn bard, quill and lets her stay only for her to wake up with blood all over her hands. cleans up the body because it was undignifying to be left that way, waits for the camp to wake up and confesses to all.
vows to never kill an innocent again : this is the moment when her oath breaks. it was the vow she made to herself that directly conflicted with bhaal's oath of conquest.

at the party she hooks up with lae'zel (the only "romance" i'm gonna incorporate in this timeline since i don't wanna force relationships lmao)

goes to play two rounds of hide n seek with oliver before "spoiling the fun", ultimately lets halsin convince oliver to join with thaniel for now
heads directly to the mausoleum aka the gauntlet of shar.
talks yurgir to death (basically), kills balthazar on site (before the shadowfell), lets shadowheart do the trials (even though she's getting the heebeejeebees here); shadowheart spares aylin
takes a rest here because they know better than to try and fight with barely enough energy. is given the task to kill her darling. (by default her fav person is shadowheart, platonic or romantic) does her best to resist and actually the 'shadowheart has faith in you' advantage let her say thank you
when confronted she starts crying and offers shadowheart a chance to off her
recruits jaheira, slaughter the first floor of moonrise, tries to offer ketheric mercy but instead he doesn't take it and myrkul emerges
after the battle, she tells minthara the throne suits her, tries to cheer up the kids with alfira, loots all the food in the kitchen, adoringly watches aylin and isobel reunite
lets aylin and isobel stay in camp, tells shadowheart her hair is the most beautiful thing she's seen the next day
when the emperor reveal happens, she's disgusted with the amount of deceit because she too, feels like a monster but she isn't hiding it like he is. however, she can't kill him so begrudgingly, she works with him

tells wyll she thinks he should be free and no one deserves eternal damnation of their soul but its his choice (usually assumes wyll breaks his pact here)
convinces the elfsong tavern owner to let them stay there for free
finds dolor, and subsequently the tribunal; murders sarevok and frees valeria
orin kidnaps halsin, kira makes a beeline towards the temple (well, as much of a beeline as she could make given she has no idea where it is)
duels orin, wins by a bare margin against her slayer form. rejects bhaal. is literally exsanguinated, skewered, maimed, gored (point is, revivify wouldn't work in true dnd fashion). brought back to life by withers
is catatonic in bed for a few days (at this point i assume the other companions either take turns checking in on her or doing some of those quests lmao)
asks isobel and aylin if they could witness her take up a new oath with selune and this time for realsies. takes up the oath of vengeance.
[ any romance scenes will only happen after she takes up a new oath ]
( assuming at this point gale's done his sorceries sundries part of his quest and the audience with mystra )
makes a beeline towards the house of grief, does not betray shadowheart (obviously), lets shadowheart have her moment with nocturne. lets shadowheart make her own choice
finds cazador's mansion, brings astarion to confront him. talks astarion down from ascending
finds their way into the devil's fee, goes to the house of hope.
steals the hammer, saves hope, kills raphael
goes to the irone throne, saves omeluum, ulder, and the gondians
blows up gortash's foundry
has a heart wrenching confrontation with gortash and genuinely mourns him when he dies
finds ansur and has to kill an undead dragon. wyll becomes the blade of avernus
smashes the chains of orpheus free, (welcome to gany's self indulgent no one has to turn illithid ending), goes and fight the brain with their allies
commands the brain to destroy itself and all the tadpoles
cue epilogue !

Get To Know Your Tav
Tagged by @voloslobotomyservice I won't tag anyone since I already did in the other post but if you see this and want to do it, consider yourself tagged!
Link to my first post here.
I have two I would like to introduce but tumblr's text limit is forcing me to do two seperate posts, and this is the second one. This post is dedicated to my OC, Willow Hvithrafn, she is in her late 20s and is a white high half elf with dove white hair and hazel eyes with gold flecks. I am still debating if she will have freckles/sunspots.
I have NOT published ANY chapters of Tender For You so all of this information will contain spoilers!
What is their:
Favorite weapon? Willow has a Starlight Glaive (akin to the Moonlight Glaive) that she saved her own money since she was a child to have made specially by a local high elf. The high elf was a priestess of Lathander and wanted to create the Sunlight Glaive for Willow, but Willow is half Moon Elf and felt more connected to the stars.
Style of combat? Willow is a Vengeance Oath Paladin and loves any situation in which she can smite an opponent with her Starlight Glaive.
Most prized possession? Her Starlight Glaive is her most prized possession for sure. Her second would be a little gem she found when she was out scouting with Geraldus (she gave him one as well).
Deepest desire? I think she has two. The first being she wants nothing more than to help keep balance in the world and to protect those who cannot protect themselves. She also wishes for a very long and happy life with Geraldus once she accepts her feelings towards him.
Guilty pleasure? Even if she's had enough food, she loves when Geraldus comes up to her lookout and shares berries with her he foraged. She is a glutton not for food, but for any amount of interaction and attention from Geraldus.
Best-kept secret? Willow has largely convinced the mass majority of those around her that she is an eternally crabby, heartless, uncaring creature despite having joining the Harpers for the greater good. There are only a handful of people who see through this, and even less who give her any effort of friendship.
Greatest strength? Her greatest strength is her righteousness/sense of justice. If there is any enemy she is focused wholly on eliminating them- unless Geraldus is in direct way of harm.
Fatal flaw? This is a great question to ask right after the above because Geraldus is her biggest weakness. She had no idea she could ever want or love someone and when out together she is always too focused on his safety, which creates weaknesses in her group's formation and puts not only her life at risk but everyone else's as well.
Favorite scent? Willow loves the scent of the pine forests and rain, which remind her of Geraldus. His musk is also a scent she loves.
Favorite spell/cantrip? She actually hates using magic aside from her Smiting spells.
Pet peeve? Other people just existing. She wants to protect the world, but finds the world wholly obnoxious and frustrating to exist in.
Bad habit? Willow is quick to anger and quick to run away from any confrontation or problem outside of direct combat (ie with teammates, friends, family, etc)
Hidden talent? One night she and Geraldus discover she is quite good at playing the Lute.
Leisure activity? Willow loves laying at her lookout with Geraldus, watching the sun set and subsequently watching the stars twinkle and move across the night sky.
Favorite drink? She isn't much of a drinker of anything aside from water- she isn't a fan of hangovers or the dryness in your mouth alcohol leaves.
Comfort food? She isn't enough of a fan of food to really have a comfort food, but she really enjoys eating beef.
Favorite person(s)? Willow dislikes everyone by default. Her two favorite people are Geraldus and the Dragonborn Paladin she befriends, Kava.
Favored display of affection? She is not a very sexual or open person. Most of the time when she shows affection it is in the form of hooking her pinky with Gerladus' pinky or just holding his hand.
Fondest childhood memory? Willow's childhood holds very little she would want to even remember, but there is too much pain linked with her past for her to consider anything as "fond" or positive.
Anything else you’d like to share? Willow will only ever let Geraldus all the way in to her heart. He will be the only one to ever see her for who she truly is underneath all the fear and hurt, and he loves her as she is. Once they get together he will be the single most important thing in her life, even being a Harper comes second to being Geraldus' protector and lover.
