Where to Purchase Isopropyl Alcohol: A Comprehensive Buying Guide
Isopropyl Alcohol is a versatile product widely used for cleaning, disinfecting, and medical purposes. Whether you're disinfecting surfaces, cleaning electronics, or using it in a first-aid kit, knowing where to purchase it can make a big difference. This guide will help you understand the best places to buy isopropyl alcohol and other related products like Sterile Water for Injection or Bacteriostatic Water.
understand the best places to buy isopropyl alcohol and Bacteriostatic water
1. Pharmacies and Drugstores
Pharmacies are one of the most common places to purchase isopropyl alcohol. Stores like Chemist Warehouse and Priceline in Australia often stock isopropyl alcohol in different concentrations, including 70% and 99%. You can also find medical-grade products, such as Sterile Water for Injection or Bacteriostatic Water. These products are often used for medical purposes, such as preparing injectable medications, but are also available for general use.
Tip: When visiting your local pharmacy, look for different bottle sizes. For small tasks, a 100ml or 250ml bottle of isopropyl alcohol will do. For larger jobs, pharmacies often stock 500ml or 1-litre bottles.
2. Supermarkets
Major supermarkets like Coles and Woolworths often stock isopropyl alcohol in the cleaning section. While the selection may be smaller than in pharmacies, it is still convenient to pick up a bottle during your grocery shopping trip. These stores may also carry Sterile Water for Injection 10ml for household use or minor medical needs.
3. Online Retailers
Online shopping offers convenience and variety, making it easy to find exactly what you need. Websites like Amazon, eBay, and Catch have a wide range of isopropyl alcohol products available. If you’re looking to buy in bulk or want specific concentrations (like 99% for electronics cleaning), online retailers are a great option.
In addition to isopropyl alcohol, you can also find products like Bacteriostatic Water or Bac Water online. These are often used for multi-dose medication reconstitution and can be purchased from specialized medical suppliers.
4. Medical Supply Stores
For larger quantities of isopropyl alcohol or medical-grade solutions, medical supply stores are the best option. These stores often stock more specialized products like Sterile Water for Injection 10ml or Bacteriostatic Water for injection. These solutions are commonly used for reconstituting injectable medications and other medical purposes.
Tip: If you need to reconstitute medications, such as peptides, consider visiting a medical supply store. They also carry related products, including syringes and Buy Distilled Water Adelaide for non-injectable purposes.
5. Hardware and Electronics Stores
For those using isopropyl alcohol to clean electronics or remove adhesives, hardware stores like Bunnings often stock high-purity alcohol (90% or above). Electronics retailers also carry isopropyl alcohol for cleaning sensitive devices and components.
Conclusion
Whether you’re buying isopropyl alcohol for medical use, household cleaning, or electronics maintenance, there are plenty of options available both in-store and online. Pharmacies, supermarkets, online retailers, and medical supply stores all offer isopropyl alcohol in different forms and concentrations, along with related products like Bacteriostatic Water, Sterile Water for Injection, and Bac Water. If you’re looking for high-quality bacteriostatic products, consider Bacteriostatic Water Australia for your needs. Always check the label for the concentration that suits your purposes, and shop around to find the best prices and suppliers.

Hello Rae!! - this is for nice ask week! Is this a thing that 911ls fandom does often? Because it seems to sweet and fun 💗
My question for you is what are the 5 beauty products you couldn’t live without? For me I’m a skincare girlie and thus don’t know much about makeup but still interested in your answers! And since you’re Aussie too, where’s your favourite place to get your products? Mecca, Sephora, Priceline, elsewhere? 🛍
I’m gonna send you a 911 based ask next 🚒🤠
Hi D! Nice ask week started as nice ask day about a month ago, but because of timezones and people just needing time to get to asks it went for about 3 days 😅 @celeritas2997 kicked off nice ask week this week just for fun! It’s not limited to LS fandom because so many of us are in overlapping fandoms but it’s fun!!
But omg, this ask! I am absolutely a skincare girlie who dabbles in being a makeup girlie (I used to wear a lot more makeup but I don’t wear as much anymore).
I buy a lot of my products at Mecca - my love of a beauty loop box keeps me loyal, plus there’s one very close to my office so it’s too easy to pop down on my lunch break! Having said that, I buy things from all over the place, it depends who stocks the brand, who’s got good freebies and how soon I need something!
Okay, five products I can’t live without, in no particular order:
- Sunday Riley Good Genes - it’s exy but does wonders for my skin
- Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face 50+ SPF/Ultra Violette Clean Screen 50+SPF - SO SO important to wear spf every day! I’ve been using the Mecca sunscreen for years and even have my partner using it daily because it’s just so good. But @welcometololaland recently put me onto the Ultra Violette (I’d been meaning to try it for ages and she sent me a sample) and I love it a lot. I think it feels nicer on my skin than the Mecca one does going on, but I haven’t had the chance to really test it out in the sun all day
- MCo Xtend lash mascara - tubing mascara is life changing, particularly in the humidity where I live and also because I cry easily. I buy this one at Woolies and stock up when it’s on sale (frequently). Have been using it for years because it’s just that good - holds a curl, doesn’t smudge, washes off easily with warm water
- concealer - I’m not wedded to any particular product, I was using a Kosas one which was excellent, am currently using an MCo one that I picked up to try because it was half price at Woolies 😅 and it’s surprisingly good! It’s not always easy to get a match for my skin tone in supermarket/pharmacy brands so I was pleasantly surprised!
- my last product would either be a Vit C serum (LOVE Sunday Riley CEO which feels so nice and smells good but more importantly is effective but Mecca put the price up so I’m currently using the Paula’s Choice Vit C booster and it’s good!) or my beloved MAC Girl About Town lipstick which might be the only colour I’ve worn consistently for 15ish years. It’s the perfect hot pink! I don’t wear it every day but it’s my go to lip colour when I go out.
What are your must haves? I’m always happy to chat skincare!!
PS. I have your other ask, it’s gonna take me a minute to think about and get links and I’m not home tonight but I will answer it!

Wimmera Steampunk Festival Wrap Up/Event Video
https://karenjcarlisle.com/2023/05/12/wimmera-steampunk-festival-wrap-up-event-video/
April was steampunk month. It was the 36th anniversary of the coining of the word ‘steampunk’ to describe the literary genre by KW Jeter. It is the birthday month of the main character in my first steampunk series, The Adventures of Viola Stewart. It was the month I revealed my new steampunk short story collection, and the month we travelled interstate (5 hours drive) from Adelaide to Dimboola for the Wimmera Steampunk Festival.
The drive took six hours; there was the inevitable roadworks, April burnoffs, and ‘tea breaks – one of which resulted a fortuitous find at the ’24 Seven Cafe’ at Tailem Bend: the most deliciously sinful chocolate fudge brownie, with emphasis on the chocolate fudge. (We stopped there on the return trip for more!)
This year accommodation in Dimboola booked out quickly, with many having to stay in the surrounding townships. We stayed in Horsham – about a 30 minute drive from Dimboola – equivalent to our usual jaunt to the city here in Adelaide.
The town of Dimboola really got into the mood, with local businesses on Lloyd and Lochiel Streets joining the atmosphere. The Victoria hotel is worth the visit if you love 19thC Victorian architecture and design – with dark wood interiors highlighted with strong colours and gorgeous curiosities, and the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by.
The Wimmera Steampunk Festival is a combination of street party (theme: Time Traveller’s Soiree), creator markets, costume parade, and music – ranging through rock, folk, and even a brass band (which, like the Pied Piper – had revellers trailing it as they processed along the street), and a light show over the Dimboola Imaginarium (residing in the historic bank building).
Though the ‘Time Travellers’ Soiree’ was held on the Saturday, there were other steampunk-related events over the weekend, including a Poe play, Steampunk dinner, more bands, and two author talks, one by Perth author Carol Ryles on the Friday, the second by yours truly at the Dimboola Imaginarium on Sunday.
Sunday 23rd April is also the birthday of the main character in my first steampunk series, The Adventures of Viola Stewart. To celebrate, I gave all talk attendees an eBook copy of my upcoming steampunk short story collection Cogs and Conspiracies scheduled for release on 17th May.
The event itself was full of the whimsy, individuality, makers ethic, and joy which is an integral part of steampunk. Most attendees garbed up in their steampunk finery, with some astounding creations of their imagination.
I finally got to meet The Brass Harpies in person – a trio of amazing women who promote steampunk – who I’ve been chatting to online for years (it was lockdown, remember). (Looking forward to them making the trip over for our own Adelaide Steampunk Aetherfest).
The event was organised by Chan Uoy, owner of the Dimboola Imaginarium, and sponsored by many local businesses. Thank you Chan and Dimboola for a fantastic event, to Chan for hosting my talk on Sunday, and to everyone who attended. Apologies to those who couldn’t attend as the room was full.
I want to particularly thank the staff of Horsham Priceline for their invaluable help. I’d left my painkillers behind in Adelaide (they were on the bench, ready to pack, when we got home) and I had a major fibroflare on Saturday night after a extremely long day. Fortunately, I had a script on file at the pharmacy in South Australia, so with a little email technology, they saved the day and I could function on Sunday for my talk. (Phew!)
And here’s my event video:
youtube
I’m looking forward to attending the next Wimmera Steampunk Festival in 2025.

Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival 2017
On the 17th of March I had the privilege of being able to attend VAMFF for the third year in a row, and in all honesty it just keeps getting better and better! I was lucky enough to (yet again) win myself 2 tickets through Chadstone, which meant I was able to give my mum the chance to experience VAMFF in all of its glory at Carlton’s Royal Exhibition Building!
Keep reading to hear all about what VAMFF has to offer, and to see some photos I took on the night !! ♡
Mirror mirror on the wall... - Westfield Doncaster’s “Mirror Mirror” Installation was incredible!!
We took the tram from Crown to Nicholson Street, and when I walked into The Plaza I felt like I was in a dream! Being all dressed up and surrounded by like-minded people is incredible as it is, but to be in such an interactive and beautiful space made it so much more unreal! From photo booths, to food trucks, to a live DJ, even a Priceline beauty-vending machine, VAMFF had it all and I couldn’t be more in love.
Delicious food - Chicken Bao w/ Spring Rolls + Salad = AMAZING!
My favourite parts of The Plaza were the gorgeous, unique & interactive photo-booths and backdrops! They were a great way for me to have fun while taking super cool interesting photos of my outfit.
Swingin’ Good Time - My gorgeous mum + I at the Mercedes Benz photo-booth
Angel - Gorgeous wings painted by the oh-so-talented Mads Francis
Speaking of my outfit, here are the details!!
Top: Forever New
Skirt: Unknown (I found it in a small store in DFO South Wharf on sale!)
Shoes: Spend-less Shoes
Necklace: Lovisa
Clutch: Colette by Colette Hayman
Front Cover - Cosmopolitan’s photo-booth made me feel pretty famous (note: I wasn’t actually on the front cover of a magazine! One can dream though...)
After the fun we had at The Plaza, it was time to step inside the gorgeous Royal Exhibition Building to see Premium Runway 4! Below are some photos I snapped of some of my favourite outfits - all designers will be written below each pic!

Overall, the fashion show was absolutely incredible, and better than ever before! My mum at first had her doubts when I tried to convince her to come with me, but she was also amazed by the experience! I definitely recommend snatching up some tickets next year, as it never fails to be the event I most look forward to every year!!
Grand Finale - PREMIUM RUNWAY 4 Presented by SHOP Til You Drop, Supported by Priceline Pharmacy
I said this last year, but I’ll say it again; I had such an amazing time at VAMFF this year, and I really hope I am able to attend again next year - I’m sure they will find a way to somehow top the experience I was blessed with this time around!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, I’m sorry it has taken so long for me to post something (5 months to be accurate) but VCE is pretty hectic! I’ll definitely try to be as active as possible on my Instagram though, so keep an eye out!
Stay fabulous! ♡
- Sonia xo
NOTE: This post is NOT in any way sponsored by any mentioned companies or brands such as VAMFF or Chadstone - it’s purely a post based on my positive experience that I personally chose to share and recommend!
