thinking about the way ghost doesn't hesitate to start killing shadows when graves betrays them but soap only takes one hostage
you can almost hear the voice in his head telling him it doesn't have to be this way; they can still talk it out
"i'm calling shepherd"
his first instinct when confronted with betrayal is to play it by the books: to go up the chain. that goes against everything we've seen him do. he bucks authority at every chance except for the one time he's confronted with the barrels of his allies' guns
he wants a peaceful resolution; for the first time we've ever seen, he doesn't want violence to be the answer. there has to be another fix, a solution that doesn't end with him killing the same men he's been working with; his friends
nothing's happened yet
it doesn't have to go this way
but ghost has been betrayed before. he knows the way this ends; either with him six feet under or his enemy
he doesn't hesitate
it's only when they knock alejandro out that soap shoots; when they spill the first blood and cross a line they can never come back from
only when ghost orders him to run and he has to cover his retreat
and somewhere along the line, between civilians’ screams and taunting voices, between his shaking breath and ghost steady in his ear, that naivety is stripped away; his trust turned to teeth that he uses to sink into throats of men he'd have given his life for
"be careful who you trust, sergeant; people you know can hurt you the most"
he's learned the price of trust
just like ghost did
but unlike ghost, he has someone to guide him through the aftermath
"good advice, It"

concept for an mcu miniseries where it’s six episodes focusing on six heroes of six different decades that we’ve never heard of. literally characters that don’t exist, have never existed, and won’t exist again after this show. it’s six episodes, and each episode focuses on one of the six heroes in their respective decades, in chronological order, doing something monumentally heroic that makes the audience think, “oh my god, where was this person when blah blah blah happened?” each character gets an in depth backstory and a defining trait that shows how incredibly amazing they are as a hero. from the 1950s to the early 2000s, we explore the heroics of six characters from six different time periods we have never heard of and watch them save thousands. the threats change with the decade, the setting varies from place to place with no connection to the previous episodes, and it makes the audience connect with these characters that they don’t even know.
in the final episode with the final hero it shows them looking out their bedroom window, maybe contemplating or watching a scene from below. it’s dark, nighttime, and they look genuinely happy and hopeful for the future they might be able to create. the shot focuses on the hero’s face for a moment as they look outside the window. then it pans over slightly to show that they are not alone.
dark face. dark hair. dark mask. metal arm.
cue the winter soldier in the background, not even in focus, silently pulling out a gun and shooting them in the back of the head as the hero’s facial expression never changes from that calm hopeful expression. they fall against/through the bloody shattered window with said calm expression, and the camera pans through the window and up to the winter soldier where, in the darkness, we can see the dead expression for a few seconds before the screen cuts to something new.
from there the last five-ten minutes of the show focus on going back in time through the previous five decades as we see the winter soldier kill each of these one-of-a-kind (and i mean genuinely, these characters are some of the best we’ve seen with the best motives and methods and ideas and personalities) heroes and end any dreams or hopes that the world might have for those people protecting them again in the future. every death is brutal—it SHOWS the actual violence and fear-of-God mentality that the winter soldier is supposed to embody and instill in his victims. the show is rated TV-MA and it’s only because of the last ten minutes. it shows how there were so many individuals over the years that had the potential to be heroes, possibly better heroes than the ones that would come along later in the mcu, but were killed. it shows the impact of the winter soldier and HYDRA and how they truly changed the world, though we never really know if it was for the better or for the worse.

WHAT’S YOUR ELDRITCH LUCIFER’S PERSONALITY LIKE?? Sorry if this question makes no sense
Tbh I cooked up a whole narrative for it (because I'm dying to fill non-existent lore)... But it's so long and scattered so I'll yap about it someday.
Anyway, here are the ideas I revolve with:
All of these are just from random thoughts focusing on the ' BAD ' side + curiosity idk " my physical shell can be torn apart, smothered, stretched, bent by my own mind " (Angel Lucifer): Innocent face, underlying horror. (Canon/demon Lucifer): One body, that feels like two souls.
- somehow I can connect this with the ideas in Angel Luci's behavior LOL im too sleepy to fix a timeline for it atm.
Evil is a part of him that can't be erased so he learned to overcome it, but never fully accepted it. So upon his silly demeanor, beneath are the true reasons why he is banished from heaven. Sob story? Yeah, that's what they believe in...
Bro lives with this eternal punishment and I'm about to make that reason worse.

i'm having the swamp dreams every night. these dreams often involve actual swamps, but not always, they're more a type of nightmare with a particular emotional flavor. a restful type of nightmare, compared to their cousins, but one that doesn't want to let go, even after i'm awake and going about my day

Woo got Linux working! On a related note I have gotten over any fear of breaking things through the command line and also can now roll back to an earlier system backup. Yes those are related. In my defense, breaking things in interesting ways is a great way to figure out what's actually going wrong.

“No, I don’t really like golden retriever boys”
“Mpreg? Eh I don’t like it”
“Cowboys are okay but not my cup of tea”
“I would never be a stay at home husband”
“I don’t really care for genderswap stuff”
Well, well, well, how the turns have tabled.

Hot take: Even though I love that he beat the Miquellallegations, pre-dlc Mohg was so much better and had a lot to go for in terms of power, potential and how conniving and dedicated he was to achieve his goal. I miss him.
Also the premises for a Lord of Blood ending were right there. It would've been an interesting alternative option where you as a player, not only as a Tarnished, are giving up both your role as main character and your quest to become Elden Lord, thus letting someone else seize that opportunity.
I understand Miquella's plan for godhood and the creation of a gentler world (which is still ultimately destined to fail if we intervene and avoid having our heart stolen by him), but it removed so much agency from Mohg in particular, in my opinion.

Looking at current Amazon Prime originals and their premiere vs s2 renewal dates, it looks like what they do more often is:
Renew ahead of s1 premiere (The Boys, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Cross, Rings of Power, Citadel, Wheel of Time)
A week or less after s1 premiere (Fallout, Reacher, Upload)
1 month post s1 premiere (Gen V, Devil's Hour, The Rig, House of David)
Skimming the list of ended AP programming I see cancellations mostly around the 2 month mark (sometimes 1, sometimes 3ish, occasionally longer).
And what that tells us is that apart from choosing to show confidence in some shows from minute zero (because of financials or previous potential audience research or whatever), Amazon looks at numbers very, very early.
So if there's an Amazon show you'd like to see get another season, you need to watch it now*.
Not saying it for any particular reason coughCountdowncough

this generation of kids is so fucked and it’s so depressing to watch in real time. the amount of parents that are like “my preschooler got covid/rsv/had to be hospitalized but it’s ok because kids get sick all the time” is so……in 20 years or so when these kids are in early adulthood we’re going to have an increase in autoimmune diseases and chronic respiratory illnesses along with heart conditions and strokes due to repeated covid infections and researchers are going to be scratching their heads on the cause and ignoring that we let kids go back to schools mid-pandemic with no disease mitigation and then ignored a second respiratory disease resurgence
