You and Ethan were currently situated on your dorm’s couch, watching a newly slasher film that came out merely days ago for this weekend’s sleepover. This weekly tradition started a while back in the beginning of the school year when the two of you gave up studying for your guy’s shared class, economics and instead, decided to watch a horror film, Stab 1 to be exact. Who wouldn’t? It’s a classic. It now nears the end of your guy’s freshman year of college, and the both of you are excited to spend the summer together as well with your friends.

“Okay, now that was stupid of her.” You state, pointing ahead at your tv screen. Ethan stifles a chuckle and instead smile as he turn his head over to the side to watch you as you began to rant about common sense in horror films. “If you’re being chased by a killer, and you hear noise coming from somewhere, don’t go all scooby-doo or some shit and investigate! Bitch, get the fuck outta there!” You exclaim as you raise your arms up in disbelief, accidentally smacking Ethan’s forehead in the process. Gasping, you look at him with a shocked expression, your jaw falling open as your eyes widens twice its size. You hear him grunt, his eyes screwing shut as his hand goes to hold his head.

“I’m so sorry!” You repeat numerously like a mantra as you carefully rub his forehead. You press your lips together in an attempt to hold back your laughter. But when Ethan shoots you a certain look, the both of you burst out laughing, leaning against each other for support.

“I-It’s okay, really.” Ethan chuckles, reassuring you with a gentle hold around your wrist, bringing it down to rest on his chest.

Once you guys eventually regained your composure, you push back his fluffy, brown curls away from his forehead, “Are you sure you’re okay?” You hum, trying to examine his forehead in search for any visible bruises or marks, but you couldn’t when Ethan looks away.

And you don’t know if it was your eyes deceiving you or your mind playing tricks, but you could’ve swore that you saw his cheeks blush a light shade of red.

“I didn’t hit you that hard, did I?” You reach your hands up to cup Ethan’s cheeks and try to turn his head, but he wouldn’t budge.

“Ethan, I can’t see if you won’t look at me.” You sigh, fully turning your body around to face Ethan properly. But that still didn’t stop the young man in front of you as he continues to look away.

“Jesus, Eth, why do you have to be so stubborn?” You shuffle yourself onto Ethan’s lap, knees planted on each side of his hips as you finally succeed in making Ethan face you again. “Ethan! I need to see if you’re okay.”

He looks up at you with a flustered look, his curls softly bouncing when you finally stop jerking his head around. Your firm hold on him softens, and instead goes to rest on his broad shoulders. Everything around you suddenly goes quiet, even drowning out the movie playing in the background.

“You- uh- look okay.” You manage to whisper out, it’s very faint but audible for the male under you to hear. “Yeah?�� He questions, his eyebrows slightly raising upwards, completing his dazed look. His heart thumps loudly in his chest and he hopes you can’t hear it, but you were too busy hearing your own heart hammering powerfully in your ears. “Yeah.” You nod, feeling you lose yourself in a sort of trance. A trance that gets you weak in the knees. And that was granted by the person who makes you feel all fuzzy inside.

His eyes swiftly glances down to your lips before linking back to your gaze once again. “I really, really want to kiss you right now.” He utters out, his hands finding a place on your waist. Your skin burns with anticipation for every faint touch of his fingertips. “Can I kiss you?” He asks gently but his grip pulling you flush against his body was anything but gentle, causing you to gasp against his soft, pink lips. Those lips that you dreamt of kissing. The lips that was asking to kiss you.

You lean in eagerly, connecting your lips with his as your response. You feel him relax against your body but his hands stayed firm holding your waist. You go to cup one of his cheeks, your thumb caressing the soft, hot skin. You guys pull your lips away from each other only to rest your forehead’s against each other. Ethan gives you a light-hearted smile, making your heart ache at the sight. You pull away to leave a reasonable amount of space between the two of you. “Was that okay?” You hear him ask as he gazes into your eyes with a look of validation. You let out a small, faint giggle as you nod. Ethan chuckles as he fixes his posture, “Good, because I want to kiss you again.”

With one of his hands, he goes to cup the side of your jaw and neck as he pulls you into another kiss. Your guy’s lips moves together in perfect sync, your heads swaying from side to side as you both push against each other. Your hand traveled up Ethan’s nape and into his brown curls, while the other was pressed flat against his chest, not to push him away, but just to make sure you have a grip on reality and not slip away into this euphoric moment. (but it might be a little too late)

“I— mhf, I like you so much, Eth.” You manage to get out in between kisses. As much as it would be easier to just pull away and confess, you just couldn’t get enough of his lips. Kissing him was your addiction, you couldn’t get enough of it. You gasp into his mouth when his fingers slip under your shirt, grazing your warm skin. “I like— fuck, you too, so much.” He replies back just as breathless as you.

His kisses begins to turn a bit more fervent, as well as his touch. His hand on your waist tracks down to your thigh. He squeezes the soft flesh, earning a soft, nearly inaudible whimper from you when you slightly pull away to breathe. He reciprocates the action as well, granting you both the time to catch your breathe. “Woah..” He pants, swallowing. “I’ve been wanting to do that for so long.” He smiles, “Can we do that again?”

megan and yn are your average college students, broke and working multiple jobs. yet the two of you always end up happy no matter what, because your love for each other means more than the shit you two go though day to day. short snippets of your weeks spent together during the summer holidays.

“bye baby! ill be back by 6 okay? ill grab some drinks otw home but the cheap ones… my boss hasnt sent me my paycheck yet” megan whines as she kisses your cheek before she heads out for work. you giggle, kissing her lil pout that formed and sent her out the door as you too get ready for your next shift. after an hour, you rush out, realizing that you were going to be late if you delayed any longer. snapping a selfie while walking, you sent it to megan, telling her you were on your way to work and couldnt wait to see her after.

you sigh heavily, the shift had drained your energy all because of some woman who decided she was entitled enough to treat you like shit. slipping on your headphones, you step out of the cafe and was met with a sudden shower. you laugh, feeling the rain fall onto you, drop by drop evaporating the tension youve been feeling since earlier.

meanwhile, megan was at the store picking up some drinks and snacks as she promised. she looks out, immediately brightening as she sees you cutely skipping in the puddles that were forming from the rain. she hurriedly puts down the basket, snapping a quick picture of you before opening the storefront’s door and calling out to you.

you whip around hearing you girlfriends voice from behind. you smile, running towards her and engulfing her into a tight hug as you pull her into the rain. megan smiles down at you, kissing your temples once you released her from the hug. you pout exaggeratedly, whining that the kisses werent enough. megan shakes her head at your shenanigans while grinning, giving a longing kiss on your lips.

“there you go my love, that good for now?” she asked as she takes your hand to pull you into the shop. you kiss her one more time before you let go of her, immediately racing to the candy aisle to grab some of your favorite candies. megan calls you, letting you know she already took your candies and was now selecting drinks. you croon out a thank you my savior while you cling to her and pecked her knuckles lightly.

the two of you shortly reach home, immediately plopping yourself on the couch as megan puts back the items. once she was done, you reach out for her, opening your arms wide as she sat down on your lap while holding two cans. you kiss her neck softly, mumbling your thanks as you take the can from her. as the night goes on, you two slowly fall asleep in each others arms, knowing that you wouldnt change a thing to be holed up a small apartment with the love of your life even though you two didnt have much.

you step out of the car, breathing in the salty winds whipping up a frenzy of your hair. megan appears next to you, tucking your stray hairs as she places a soft kiss on your cheek. the moon was shinning so brightly as the two of you made your way down to the sand. megan sets up the blanket as you skip around in the sand feeling the cooling breeze around you. as she looks over, she smiles softly, not having seen you this carefree in a while due to the extra job you took on to cover rent. megan calls you over to eat once she finished setting up the blanket and food.

“thank you loveee here have a biteee!” you cooed, lifting a spoonful of chicken rice that you cooked earlier to her mouth. megan opens wide as you feed her, eyes lighting up as she chews slowly, savoring it. she puffed up her cheeks full of food, trying to smile at you. you giggle at her antics, poking her cheek as she gestures wildly at you then the chicken rice then you again.

the two of you sit there eating as the night deepens and becomes cooler. shivering, you snuggle up to megan, who was playing with your hair, mindlessly twirling, shifting and combing through your hair. you hum quietly, enjoying the way she played with your hair. you look up to her, showcasing your puppy eyes before asking for more pieces of candy. megan refuses, knowing you would not be able to fall asleep if you had anymore.

“awhhh pweaseee darlinggg just one more?” you stick your lower lip out, batting your eyelashes as you twirl a strand of her hair. megan visibly falters for one second before shaking her head again. you try again, now become more exaggerated than before and yet megan was still not giving in. as a final resort, you kiss her deeply and grabbed the bag from behind her. you run from her as you gobble up the rest of the candies, laughing maniacally.

megans jaw dropped, surprised at the length you went just to eat the candies. she shoots up and start chasing you as you taunt her jokingly. once she caught you, she scoops you up bridal style, giggling as she hears you scream. she trudges back to the blanket, dropping you unceremoniously, before laying next to you. you rest your head on her shoulder, dropping a kiss there. she smiles softly, once again tangling her hands into your hair. you sigh softly, feeling her fingers starting to lightly massage your scalp.

as the two of you drift off slowly to sleep, you mumble out a i love you to megan thinking how lucky you were to get a lover as loving, hardworking and attentive as her. letting out a contented sigh, you knew you, you would love her till the end of time.

I just had to learn this new word from The Bat Wolf on TikTok…

“Darvo” is an acronym that stands for Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. It is a manipulation tactic often used by individuals to deflect blame, deny responsibility, attack the accuser, and portray themselves as the victim in a situation where they may actually be the offender….

Grrr… This sucks. lol 😝 I already knew this. Not the word, I just know my exes blamed me for what they did. Andrew for one, after we’re broken up, he says “we can be friends” and I was in stupid trauma bond so I can’t leave. I stuck around hoping for some miracle that he actually diiiiid love me 🙄 (I wasn’t aware of what was happening) OKAY, so we’re having conversations as “friends”. He’s way more open with me now than he had been the whole relationship. I didn’t get why… We were talking about our “fears” and “worries”. I tell him finally I had been battling depression for years. He acts totally caught off guard and upset!! Says he “should’ve known that about me.” Well duh, you only dated me for over a year. Yes, you would’ve known had you actually paid me real attention outside your bed. 🫠 and I tell him I’ve always felt invisible and misunderstood which is 100% facts!! Apparently now, Andrew is “upset” and says he should’ve known and now he thinks that’s sooooo terrible of me to be depressed. Tells me I’m “too beautiful to be depressed” ANNNND he took a vulnerable conversation and turned it SEXUAL 😳 Suddenly he’s saying how beautiful I am to him and how he wants me and I know what he likes and I’ve always known what he likes… doesn’t want me to be depressed but suddenly wants me to be with him. I was in stupid trauma bond and had no self control, no awareness of his intentions and so I melted like butter in his arms. Grrrr!!!!

Okay so I’m mistaking the whole situation and I wonder is he trying to get back with me and what about the “other girl” ?? I ignore my gut instinct, I ignore the hard truth and I give in to temptation. The next day I’m torn like what’s gonna happen next, what does it all mean and does Andrew care about me… SUDDENLY, I received this big, loooooooooong, paragraph of a text message from him. He’s never typed so much in his life to me! He’s always gave me short responses but this time it was like a book!!! 😨 and in this book, he wants to know, “why did I flirt with him and get with him? What’s wrong with me, why would I do that!!???? Tells me how I know we’re broken up and I don’t respect our friendship…. “ basically treating me like a slut and making me feel bad for what HE STARTED!!! He tells me I made him “weak” and purposely made him “want me” that it’s alllll my fault he had no self control and I made him do something he wasn’t supposed to do. 😓😓😓😓

Is that not Darvo???? I mean, I knew nothing back then about manipulators but I wasn’t born yesterday either. My jaw was dropped and sure I felt sad and ashamed cuz I thought it meant something when clearly he was just messing with my head and playing games… I exclaimed to him “it takes two” and no he’s not gonna blame me only, he also has to wear it. Also, he took a sensitive and tough conversation about my mental health and turned it into something nasty. He used my feelings and emotions for his own benefit. Yeah, it didn’t stop there. For two weeks straight we continued to get with each other but fight the whole time. It was both amazing and terrible. He purposely was making it “good” so I would want more of him but also treating me like complete crap because it’s easier to get what he wants from me if I’m too upset and sad to go against him. Plus, I truly believed I cared about him and whatever he was going through.

I just can’t wrap my head around “darvo” it’s so evil and hurtful. I continued to show up for him even while he’s spitting on my name. His loss though ✌🏻
