And THANK YOU I am very flattered and uh. rambled somewhat more than necessary, so that's going to go under the cut after the fic. TLDR I do edit some as I write, it doesn't all come out that smooth! But the very first version doesn't get posted, because I'd have to post like... a quarter of a sentence at a time.

Anyway, time to put a small child in danger!

Kagami needs rescuing:

The Senju have been focusing on Hikaku, which has given Ruri and Kagami the space to scramble out of the way of jutsu and kunai showers.  Ruri has stuck close to Kagami, dragging him with her when he couldn’t have dodged fast enough on his own, and Hikaku is proud of her for that, even if it’s not going to make a difference. Her hand is still clamped on Kagami’s forearm when they land beside Hikaku at the base of the cliff.  It’s as good a chance as Hikaku will get.  He lets his head drop as he forces himself back to his feet, hiding his mouth as well as he can.  “Ruri, when you see an opening, I want you both to run.”

I do edit some as I write! For example, the last sentence in this section of Typhoon Island was originally:

"These will stop working (break? communicates 'stop producing light' but it's not REALLY accurate, there's got to be a better word) if the stone they're on is rearranged or cracked (broken?)(disrupted is what I mean for both really but I don't want to use it)."

which I only actually typed about the first three or four words of before I decided it didn't work, too many words I couldn't decide on. So the second version, which actually got typed was:

"These seals are easily damaged," Tobirama says. "Will a change in the light be a problem for you?"

And that worked better, but then I couldn't get Tobirama's next line of dialogue to flow in a way I liked, so that got cut to just the question and the 'easily disrupted' info went into his next line.

(But you can kinda still tell, because that's why Izuna immediately refers to the angle of the light and doesn't consider, say, the color; I'd decided on his response while I was still thinking of that first version of Tobirama's sentence. 'Tobirama intends to make many of these, some of which may go off without warning' isn't a totally unreasonable conclusion for him to pick up as it is, but it makes a lot more sense if Tobirama has already referenced multiple seals and that they're easily disrupted. So this is something I'll probably edit more before it goes on AO3.)

I don't usually do that much with every sentence, all the rest in that excerpt I just wrote once and moved on. (And if I am feeling the need to do that sort of rewriting every sentence, that's a 'you have a problem ten sentences back, go rewrite' sign for me.) But there is definitely some polishing going on.

Also I've been doing forum RP off and on for... about fourteen years now? which has given me a lot of practice at writing sections of a scene about this length, 100-300 words, and trying to make that small piece impactful while also keeping in mind the overall arc of the scene and what options the sentence I'm currently writing will give me in the next paragraph. It's not exactly the same as this, but I'm keeping mostly the same things in mind as I write, so the practice helps a lot.

Anyway all that to say REALLY THANK YOU SO MUCH, the witchcraft is I am an English nerd and uh. that's prettymuch it.

Tonight's activity for me is prettymuch just drinking tea and catching up on KEXP's recent live sessions (Friday's usually my "listen to a lot of music" night :D)

Are you writing any new books, now, or are you still editing/drafting your old one(s)?

Tiadane's book is stuck in editing hell because I was trying to get them from where they are in my edits to build into the climax and I couldn't figure out any solution that seemed to work, so I went back to the beginning to re-read and look for something that might help me patch the gap and/or rework things so one of the solutions I thought of will work better.

There are (currently) 34 chapters, I got stuck at chapter 25, and I'm currently in chapter 3 in my read through because this scene sucked and I'm rewriting a lot of it.

Avel's book is currently on hold because it may still be the first draft but it's borked enough that I need to pull the threads apart and look at what picture I'm actually trying to make with this and how to make any of these blocks I have do that, and that requires. A lot more thought than I have to spare, with the current state of Tiadane's fuckery.

Maybe I should write another short story for Tumblr lol. The last one took like a week and was a lot of fun.

Finally got to sit down and eat after being on my feet for about 9 hours today in the kitchen, baking stuffs for tomorrow.

I grew the two medium/small sugar pumpkins myself~

The mini sugar pumpkin was a halloween leftover i was experimenting with. It turned out to have a sweeter taste than the larger pumpkins, so i tossed it in the pureé~

Once they were done baking, the pumpkins looked like soft golden brown baked bread rolls to me. XD

I forgot to take pics of the pureé and entire mix once i had it all together, and i forgot to take any pics of the dough making process as well, but here is the pumpkin pie!

Here is the recipe i used for the pumpkin pie!

I definitely used about a half a cup, to an entire cup more than it called for in pumpkin pureé, - i wanted to use it all. XD i also used two cups of heavy cream instead of one each milk and cream. 👍

As for the apple pie, we bought some apples from the store to use as our neighbors tree dropped all of its apples in late august so we had to improvise ~

I use a peeler to get the slices suuuuper thin.

I also forgot to take process pics fjshdhdh. Also this is my first time doing the lattice thing and i decided to do it last minute. =u

I also used her recipe for the pie crust of both pies!

I prettymuch swear by this lady's recipes - i found her on DeviantArt a looooooooooong time ago from an aesthetic picture of her beanut butter chocolate cake and wanted to make it some day. (Still haven't). I have however, made her chicken and dumplings and it's the fucking BOMB! Look it up on her website, i have enough links here for now. XD

For the cookies, they were also a last minute decision - i decided we didn't have enough sweets for tomorrow despite my hubby also making puff pastries lmao.

I could not tell you for the life of me where i found this recipe, i found it so long ago! I memorized it because it's super simple:

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

Roll the stuff all mixed together into little golf balls, grab a fork and squish them down a little, then bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, it should make a nice crisp tapping sound if you tap the tops with a fork. If they cave in a little, you light wanna give them a bit longer. The harder the crust, the crispier the cookies will be~ if they are a little gooey when you first take them out, let them cool off and they will set.

You can also use crunchy peanut butter iff you want peanuts in your cookies!

Or get creative and add chocolate chips or peanut butter chips AND chocolate chips if u want it to be extra tasty. ;3
