âSo⊠is that a yes?â
âI-âŠâ Your mouth was moving before your mind could, âOkay.â
Jungkook blinked, staring at you like he wasnât sure if you had actually said âokayâ or if heâd just imagined it. He looked completely caught off guard. Honestly, you couldnât blame him. You were pretty shocked yourself.
The word still hung between you both, heavy with the weight of the sheer stupidity of what youâd just agreed to. You half-expected him to start laughing, for you to snap out of whatever spell had come over you and tell him to go to hell.
But no one moved. Neither of you even took a breath.
Jungkookâs eyebrows shot up, surprise etched across his face. Clearly, heâd expected you to kick his ass, maybe curse him out, not... this.
It felt bizarre. The longer you sat with the idea, though, the more it made a twisted kind of sense. Maybe it was because youâd already agreed to this ridiculous plan in your head before your mouth even caught up. Because, as much as you hated to admit it, this was probably going to work better than the endless cycle of arguments. But also, by agreeing to this, you were, by extension, agreeing with Taehyungâs dumb, immature logic.    Â
So in this momentâyesâyou were dumb.
You thought back to your last hookup. It had been... disappointing, to say the least. You wanted something better. Needed it, actually. But this? Jungkook? Not what you had in mind, exactly.
âOkay,â Jungkook finally broke the silence, rubbing the back of his neck as if he couldnât believe youâd gone along with his idiotic suggestion. He was clearly thinking through how the hell heâd come to agree with Taehyungâs logic himself.
Heâd spent years watching Taehyung bury his problems in a series of meaningless hookups, laughing it off as Taehyungâs way of handling things. But deep down, Jungkook envied it. Taehyung took life so casually, like nothing really mattered. Jungkook never had that luxury. Not in the last few years, at least.
âSo, uh... do we, like, hold hands or something?â you asked, unable to stop the awkwardness from bubbling up. Because really, what else could you say? You couldnât even figure out how to broach the subject of touching each other, let alone jumping straight to that.
It was like the two of you had never spoken before, it was strange.Â
âSeriously? Hold hands? What are we four?â Jungkook teased trying to cut the tension and you groaned.Â
âI donât know! This is uncharted territory!â You move away from the building wall and start pacing back and forth, Jungkook just watching you.Â
You just stayed like this for a moment going back and forth. Maybe being a little like Taehyung is what he needed. This just wasnât the way he expected it to end up, and least of all with you.Â
Jungkook wasnât really the hook up type, let alone hook up at a wedding. Yet here you two were, playing out the most common wedding hookup cliche. The best man and the maid of honor.
You let out a long groan before you looked directly at him.Â
âThis is a one time thing.â You say quicker than you can think. You needed to stop thinking, just do.
âOkay.â He was sure in his tone.
âFine.â
A beat, for the first time ever you two were in full agreement. Jungkook decided that it needed to happen now or never before the two of you thought to much about it. He walked away from you, going to the door back into the hotel. He didnât look back until he realized that you werenât following.
âWell, are you coming?â He nodded his head in the direction inside the door.Â
âOh we are doing this now?â
Then your feet were moving. Without a word, he held the door open for you and followed you inside. Without some protest, Jungkook grabbed onto your wrist, almost like he wanted some contact with you. Jungkook pulling the two of you into the nearest elevator, pressing a button to what you assumed was his floor.Â
And then the doors closed.
You both stood in silence for a moment, standing side by side. Jungkook then stood in front of you, the hand that was on your wrist made its way up your arm to your face.Â
âWhat are you doing?â You pulled back for a moment and your voice was a little shaky, flinching away from him. Old habits die hard.
Jungkook would never admit this to you but he was nervous. Maybe more nervous than you but he would bury that down for now.
âOh you know, I was going to kiss you.â The words felt gross coming out of his mouth. Kissing you after all is the last thing he ever thought he would do.
âOh.â You realized yeah, you probably should kiss. Maybe a good place to start. You were deep in thought before you realized how close you and Jungkook were. Bodies almost pressed against each other. âYeah go ahead.âÂ
The only sound was the hum of the elevator filling the space. It felt so silent as you looked between Jungkook's eyes. For a moment he hesitated but then decided to just go for it. Kissing you softly at first. He tasted like cigarettes, and it was a little overwhelming. Not as gross as you thought though. His hands had now found a place on your waste and pressed your whole body into his. Without you really thinking about it one of your arms had wrapped around his neck and the other was wrapped in his hair.Â
The two of you begging silently for another kiss.
It was the only thing you two did on the short ride, just kissed, dipping your toes into the shallow end of your possible mistake. The elevator rang, causing both of you to split apart as fast as you could. The feeling of your mouth weighing on Jungkook's mind.
A memory from college came to the front of your mind.Â
âWhat? Iâm a pretty good kisser Iâll have you know. I have references.âÂ
You donât know why you remembered it now, all you could think was that: he wasnât lying about that.
You both peered around the corners of the hallway, a silent understanding passing between you as you checked to make sure no one familiar was nearby. The hallway was unnervingly quiet, the soft thud of your heart echoing in your ears as Jungkookâs hand brushed against yours. He fumbled for his key, hands steady despite the electricity buzzing in the air. The lock clicked, and he hastily opened the door, pushing it open and gesturing for you to step inside.
The room was surprisingly tidy. Too tidy, like heâd barely even been in here.
âHuh. Itâs smaller than mine,â you muttered, unable to stop yourself, that competitive streak rearing its head. It was a childish comment, but you were already grasping for control in the situationâanything to anchor yourself.
Jungkook ignored and he grabbed your wrist and spun you around, his lips meeting yours again. The taste of cigarettes filled your mouth, flooding your senses. His fingers pressed into your waist, as if he was trying to push the world away and keep you both in this moment. You kissed him back fiercely, but something was building in your chestâa knot of panic twisting tighter and tighter.
You broke away first, breathing hard, pressing your hands against his chest to put space between you. âWoah, okay.â
He paused, looking at you, his chest heaving. âYou okay?â
You shook your head, the room suddenly feeling too small, the walls too close. You raised your hands like you were warding off some invisible force. âGod, this feels... weird. Is this not weird for you?â
Jungkook exhaled and leaned back, running a hand through his hair. âItâs weird,â he admitted, though his tone suggested he wasnât entirely sure what made it weirdâjust that it was.
You paced in a tight circle, your fingers twitching. âI donât know, I feel... confused. Like everything inside me is screaming that this is wrong, but I donât know why. Itâs like my head is split down the middle and I canâtââ
âY/Nââ
âAnd I canât stand you,â you continued, voice rising, âbut for some reason, I agreed to this. Like, maybe Iâve just got some kind of self-sabotaging streak? What is wrong with me?â
Jungkook moved closer, trying not to let you chatter annoy him. âY/N.â
You met his gaze, finally stilling, but your heart was racing, chest tight with the weight of your own thoughts. His eyes were calm, though you could see the same uncertainty hiding behind them. He had already made up his mind, you could tell, but the awkwardness of it still clung to the space between you.
âAre you in, or are you out?â
The question hung in the air for a second longer than you liked. You blinked, your throat dry. âI was in. But now I donât know. I canât get past... being with you. You of all people.â Your fingers picked at the skin around your nails, searching for an answer you couldnât find.
Jungkook stood there, thinking for a moment. âThen pretend Iâm not me.â
âWhat?â You give him a confused look.Â
âMaybe we just pretend like we donât know each other. Like we just met. So Iâm not JungkookâŠÂ the guy I know you want to kill.â He teases and it actually lightens the mood a little. âIâm just⊠someone at a wedding, youâre also just someone at a wedding. Iâm not me.âÂ
A small smile actually seems to creep on your face for a moment, you have to catch yourself. âYouâre not you.âÂ
âIâm not me.âÂ
âAnd Iâm not me?â
âExactly. Weâre just two strangers.â He stepped closer, and you felt the gravity between you shift again. âDoes that make it easier?â
You stared at him for a moment, your heart hammering as the absurdity of the whole thing began to ease the pressure in your chest. Slowly, the tension began to melt into something else. Something that felt almost like... freedom.
âOkay.â You found yourself nodding. âYouâre not you. And Iâm not me.â
Jungkook smiled, taking that as confirmation, his fingers brushing your cheek again, this time softer. His touch sent a shiver down your spine, but this time it wasnât panic. It was something hotter, more dangerous.
âSee?â His voice was quiet, almost a whisper. âJust two strangers.â
He stepped forward, and before you could second-guess yourself, you closed the distance. You kissed him again, but this time it felt differentâdeeper, like the weight of everything that had been holding you back was gone. His hands found your waist, pulling you closer, and you let yourself be pulled, let yourself sink into the kiss, the moment. Just two peopleâno history, no hateâjust... heat.Â
You both stumble your way back to the bed, kicking off your shoes in the process. As you both just let yourselves live in the feeling rather than who it was with. Everything started to move faster and the intensity between the two of you got heavier. Jungkook detached himself from your lips onto the exposed skin on your neck. You found yourself leaning into it easily.Jungkook paused for a moment, his fingers tracing along the straps of the dress you wore.Â
âCan I take this off?â He says lowly into your ear.Â
Both of your minds were quiet. Here it was, no going back after this.Â
âYes.â Your voice almost gets caught in your throat.Â
He very slowly slips the straps off your shoulders. Your dress falling down the rest of the length of your body to the floor. Jungkook takes a pause, he had hoped somewhere deep inside him that you wouldnât look good under your dress, but of course you did. You still had your bra and underwear on but he knew youâd probably look great without those as well. How incredibly annoying he thought.Â
âListen I know Iâm hot but you donât have to stand there and stare.â You felt like you needed to move your hands to cover yourself.Â
Jungkook rolled his eyes, âI wasnât starring.â
âYeah right.â Your hand found your way to his tie, beginning to undo it and pulling it off him. Jungkook following by undoing the buttons on his shirt.
âEager are we?â He teases, it was too playful for what you were familiar with. Almost made you cringe but you pushed the feeling away.
âSays the one who took my dress off.âÂ
He pulls his shirt off once the buttons are undone. You wanted to maybe deny for a bit that he did in fact have a nice body and you kissed him again. It left you breathless so quickly, your head was spinning. With some quick movements you moved back onto the bed and Jungkook held himself above you. He kissed down your neck and then down your chest, his mouth was warm against you with every kiss.Â
Oh god, you thought.
The suddenness of all of this though had gotten you soaked in your underwear and it was going to be embarrassing for him to see. As he inches closer you close your legs rather quickly. Only this one time, Jungkook was going to have this effect on you.Â
âSpread your legs for me, darling.â He looked up to you and he placed both of his hands on your knees trying to pry them open, you denying him the satisfaction.Â
âNo.â You were very clearly teasing him and sat up, which allowed you to see the full sight of him, shirtless, kneeling in front of you. Never thought this would be something you would ever see. âAnd darling? What are we married now?âÂ
âThat would be my nightmare.â He shivers at the thought.Â
âYeah Iâll be dead before I ever marry you.â
âWell we agree on something at least.â
His hand was running up and down the inside of your thigh, he leaned up to meet your eyeline again. Catching you in a quick kiss before his hand grazed against the outside of your underwear. You held in the gasp that wanted to release from you.
âBe good and let me eat you out.â He brings his face in close by your ears and leaves a small kiss behind. Â
âAsk nicely and I just might.â
He took the opportunity to stand up straight, towering over you a little. Like he was getting the same sight of you below him that you had just seen of him. He tilted your chin up with his thumb and index finger, to look into his eyes.Â
âPlease.â He said so quietly and kindly. A tone he had never taken with you.
âFine.â You try to say in a displeasing tone, but you couldnât help but want it.Â
He lowers himself back to his knees and opens your legs up again and pulls your underwear down your legs rather quickly. You laid back on your back again.
âFor someone who hates me so much, you sure are wet for me.â He laughed a little and it sent a ripple of anger. You covered your face with both of your arms.
âFuck off.âÂ
âFuck you.â He replies and his hands slowly slide up your thighs. Almost agonizingly slow.Â
He reached your pussy which was eager to feel his touch and he swirled his fingers around your clit a few times. You really were wet, his fingers took no time to play with you. Applying some pressure, he uses his other hand to play around with one finger at your entrance. You have been trying not to elicit any sounds because you didnât want to see that stupid smirk on his face. Your breath was heavy in your chest though. He then instead inserted two of his fingers into your dripping pussy. You let out a low hum, you wanted a little more.Â
âThere you are. Was worried you had lost your voice.âÂ
He switched from using both hands to just one, with his two fingers moving in and out of you. His thumb still circling your clit. He had laid himself down on the bed next to you now, he was playing with a piece of your hair, and looking at you with an amusing smile.Â
Before you were able to say anything, he pushed his fingers into you deeper and he was touching a spot that could easily make you come. It forced a moan out of your mouth. Which seemed to surprise the both of you.Â
âYou really needed it bad huh?â He laughed a little at your little noises and faces you were making.Â
He was right.Â
You turn your head to the side so you donât have to face him but he stays with you. He had to take his fingers out of you, and adjust his arm but he slipped his fingers right back inside you but this time adding another one. You moan softly into the sheets. He uses his other hand to move some hair away from your face and he leaves little bites into your shoulder.Â
âThree fingers already? You must be desperate for it,â he pumps his fingers in and out of you faster. Making that little curling motion that is driving you crazy. Your breathing was quick. âCan I make you cum with just my fingers?âÂ
âGod shut up already.â You groan, but mostly at the feeling. He had you in the palm of his hand so easily.
âIâm good.â He hums, looking down at his fingers which were covered in your arousal. It made his cock twitch, he wanted to replace his fingers and fuck you but there was something satisfying seeing you all quiet and annoyed just with his fingers. âAnnoying you seems to turn me on.â
âStop.â You gasp but Jungkook picked up the pace of his fingers, and a soft moan left you. You mentally cursing yourself out. âYou always this chatty during sex? Feel bad for any girls prior to me.â
Jungkook shook his head, âNah, I usually have my tongue inside them by now.â
âYou sure are confident in your skills.â Acting as if what he said didnât send a wave of arousal through you.Â
Jungkook did a few harder thrusts of his fingers and you moan and your eyes fall shut.Â
âJust say please, and that can be you too.â He whispers and he kisses your skin.Â
âIâm never begging you for anything.âÂ
âNights still young.â
He had gotten a good rhythm with his fingers now. Touching you in just the right way. You were trying to fight the high off as best you could. Jungkook could tell you were trying to fight it but he wanted to get you off. Would be funny in a way that he could make you cum so fast even though you despise him. He begins to suck on your neck, just in a nice little spot and makes goosebumps rise all over your body.Â
âYou really seem to want to get me off? Didnât think youâd be so considerate considering how selfish you are during the daytime.â There was that competitive streak again, that same part of your that is protesting this whole thing.Â
âI may not like you, doesnât mean I donât want you to cum.â
Jungkook then lowers himself down to press his tongue flat against your clit. Your eyes flutter closed at the feeling. He keeps working his fingers in and out of you. He only sucks on your clit one more time because he wanted just his fingers to do the work here. He brings his other hand down to rub your clit as his other hand fucks you. You were letting small moans fall from you. It turning him on more than he wanted to admit.
It doesnât take much longer but a few more pumps of his fingers he gets your cumming onto them. You grinding on his fingers. You come down quickly and your face was completely red. Jungkook just smiling down to you. Jungkook then removes his fingers from you with a small protest from you. Licking all of your arousal off them.Â
âThatâs unfortunate, you taste really good.â He did sound a little disappointed at the discovery.Â
âYouâre such a dick.â
âRelax, Iâm not even done.â Jungkook let out and exasperated sigh, he wanted you to just trust the process but he should have guessed you give him a hard time.
âAddicted yet?â
âNot even slightly.â
You wanted to take back control since he had his moment of slight dominance over you. You pull Jungkook back onto the bed turn yourself around and swing your legs over his waist and pin him down on the bed. Jungkook knew it was painfully obvious how hard he was in his trousers and you were sitting right on top of it. You couldnât help the pressure made your mouth drop open a little. You wanted to feel his dick stretch you out. Not just yet though.Â
You run your hands over his chest slowly, and you begin to grind yourself into his crotch. You were a skittle swollen and sensitive but it seems to drive him a little crazy. His eyes had fluttered closed, enjoying the feeling of the pressure on his cock. You lean down close to his ear.
âLooks like Iâm not the only one that seems to need it badly.â You grind into his dick a little more forcefully. Jungkook moans a little bit and his hands have found the way to your ass, trying to guide you but you donât let him take control of the pace. You keep your hip movements slow and taunting.
âShit.â He whispers, followed by a soft moan.Â
âThink I could make you cum just by grinding on you? No chance to even slip yourself inside of me?â You're pushing him a little. You would not let this night go without getting fucked but making him cum just like this also sounded hot. Cum in his pants and then leave him here.
âNot a chance.â He says almost like he could hear your thoughts. âIâm fucking you tonight.â
He sits up, keeping you pressed into him. His hand found its way into your hair and pulled your head back. Keeping his other hand on your ass. Again trying to take the control back from you but you keep your hips still.Â
Jungkook runs his mouth over the side of your neck again, letting his hot breath fan over you. Then finding that same spot earlier that made you twitch. Attaching his mouth there and keeping his one hand tangled in your hair. You hum softly, and Jungkook tries to use his hand to encourage your hips to move. You refuse.Â
âSay please and I just might move.â You laugh under your breath. Jungkook squeezes your hip, he was getting really desperate though, he needed the friction for some relief.Â
âSo annoying.â He mumbles against your skin and bites you lightly, âPlease.â
Thank god, because you needed the friction too. You grind your hips down into him and he moans but this wasnât enough. You were making a mess on the top of his pants for sure but you didnât care, it would be his problem tomorrow.Â
Jungkook leaned away from you. Resting on one of him arms and just watched you move for a moment, it felt like he actually was in some sort of twisted dream. Because you of all people, were here dry humping him in his hotel room, and you both were really liking it. Your face was all twisted up and breathing heavily as you chased your high. Jungkook needed this to end though.Â
âOkay.â You stop for a moment and sigh, your legs were getting a little tired from the position. âI need⊠huh.â You mumble under your breath. Jungkook gave you a confused look.
âWhat was that?.â Jungkook smirks and he grinds his hips up into you. You moan a little but hit his chest to protest the movement.
âPlease fuck me.â Your plea comes out more pathetic than you wanted. You wanted him to pound into you though.Â
âI thought you werenât going to beg me for anything?âÂ
âIâm not saying it again.âÂ
Jungkook takes no pause and he lifts you off of him, and he kisses you so desperately before placing you back on the bed. He wastes zero time in getting off his pants and boxers. His dick springs free and you were upset but also glad to see it was a good size. Of course heâd have a nice dick, how fucking annoying.Â
You couldnât help but think about sucking him off though.Â
Watching him unfold for you. Itâd be nice. Unfortunately it was never going to happen. You just needed a good fuck and then you can go back to absolutely hating each other. Heâs still vile⊠Just for this moment though, he is incredibly desirable.Â
âYou got a bit of drool coming out of your mouth.â He teases you. You look away and scoff. Jungkook grabs something from his bag which proves to be a condom, quickly unpackaging it and rolling it onto his dick.
âYou just had condoms at the ready?â You ask.Â
âI didnât, Taehyung gave me some. âJust in caseâ, his words not mine.â Jungkook leans two hands on each side of the bed next to you. âI wasnât planning on sleeping with anyone.âÂ
âFind that hard to believe.â
He gave you a confused expression.Â
âHow so?â
âIsnât this your kind of guys stomping ground? Arenât weddings like prime hookup locations. Taehyung always seems to have some wedding hookup story.â You sit up, coming closer to Jungkookâs face.Â
âTell me what âmy type of guyâ is then?â He was getting annoyed, and it honestly made you happy.Â
âAssholes. Havenât said it to you in the last twenty minutes so you probably forgot what you were.â You tilt your head in innocence. You were poking the bear, but you may be starting to regret it because you might be cutting your fuck short.
âWell, you just let this asshole finger you.â He tilts his head in the same direction as you, then using one of his hands to move some hair off your shoulder.Â
âA minor lapse in judgment, Iâm sure.â You place a hand on the back of his neck, you needed him close again. Due to your own inability to not fight with Jungkook, you were cooling off.Â
Jungkook leans close and kisses you again, head still spinning. You called him and asshole and he was willingly kissing you now. So strange but it was working for the both of you. One of his hands goes down to his cock and strokes himself slowly but then moves on top of you more. He then presses his tip down onto your clit and you break your kiss to gasp. Â
âThen let me fuck you and we can be done with it.â
He was staring at you so intensely, he needed you. You needed to give up this fight, you needed him too. You nod and he pulls himself back for a second. You donât think you can face him during this, you decide to flip yourself over instead. You almost preferred it in this position anyways.
âAwe what?â You heard him laugh under his breath and you scoff. âThink you might fall in love with me if you look at me the whole time?â
âYeah right. Iâm here for one thing only and I can only hope you can actually deliver.â You sigh, Jungkook had reached over to the top of the bed for a pillow. He lifted your hips which surprised you and shifted the pillow underneath your hips.Â
Maybe he did know what he was doing.Â
He begins to climb on top of you, he presses a bunch of kissing up your back and up to your neck, sucking on a spot there. Your body is completely flooded with heat. He breaks away from you, one of his hands on his dick, stroking it a couple of times.Â
âStill time to back out now Jeon.â You say, tilting your head to the side to look back to him.Â
âNah, I need to feel you cum around me.â He was completely serious.Â
He pressed the tip of his dick to your entrance, playing with you as he swirls it around and he just watches your reaction. He could see itâs driving you nuts. How badly you want him to sink his dick deep inside of you. You bite your lip to fight back the moans he could be eliciting from you.Â
âMoan for me baby. You know you want too.â
âAnd let you have the satisfaction? No.â
âWhat a brat.â his tone was lower.Â
You both were thinking the same thing. You were both a little hesitant because this was it. It would be real, you would have fucked each other after this.Â
Jungkook presses the tip of his dick into you and it elicits a small noise from you. He pushes his dick in more, slowly and you could feel every tiny movement. He slowly stretches you out so you can take the full length. His breath was rather ragged, and his eyes were shut. He didnât completely bottom out yet but he pulls himself out and then pushes himself in again. You groan at the movement. You hated how much he was driving you crazy and how desperately you were wanting him to pound into you.Â
âJungkook please.â You needed it.
âOh yeah?â he opens his eyes. âWhat do you need?â
âEnough teasing. Just fuck me.â You grip onto the sheets below you, you needed it so bad and your breath was all ragged and desperate.Â
Jungkook observes you for a moment, you had laid your head to the side so he could examine your expression. You were desperate. He brought his hands up on top of yours gripping onto them. He then completely bottoms out inside you, which forces a moan out of you. Itâs soft but itâs like music to Jungkookâs ears.Â
âI win.â he says with a chuckle.Â
He doesnât give you much time to react before he pulls himself all they way out and shoves his dick all the way back in again. Wanting to feel every inch of your pussy around him. Each thrust forces a small moan out of you. You want to move your arms but Jungkook kept you in place. He is rocking you back and forth with each thrust and pounding all the way inside you.Â
The sound of his thrust and his pelvis slapping against your skin is so lewd. Its driving you crazy. Both of your moans fill the room. He bites down onto your shoulder and you swear it felt electric.Â
âJesus your fucking wet.â He is so out of breath. He canât get enough.Â
You canât either.Â
âOh my god.â You moan, you feel the swell of your climax rising again. Jungkook has been stroking a part of your pussy with his dick and itâs driving you insane. You have never cum from penetration sex this quickly before. Â
He slowed for a second. Moving his hand between your pussy and the pillow. Rubbing your clit. He was going to make you cum again, he was messing with you earlier but he didnt want you to feel good. You press your forehead deep into the mattress. Just letting whatever sound was in you out. You were almost running away from his touch and you push backwards just forced your ass into his pelvis. Pushing his dick deeper.Â
Double edged sword here, nowhere for you to escape. He did a few slower thrusts while he did this, keeping a certain rhythm. Before you are able to even think, your climax rolls over you again and youâre squeezing Jungkook's dick and he takes this moment to go a little faster with his thrusts while you ride it out on him. Â
âFuck.â you let a long dragged out moan, as Jungkook rides you through your high.Â
âThatâs right baby use me.â His hot breath fans over your skin. âI-Iâm also close.â
You continue to hang onto his hand as he rocks into you. Filling you up completely. Never stopping for a second as you come off your climax. The stimulation felt crazy, you almost didnât want to stop. Consider asking him to eat you out and make you come all over again. Then Jungkook gets a little sloppier in his thrusts as heâs close to his climax.Â
âComing, coming.â His breath catches in his throat as you feel him fill up the condom.Â
He thrust a few more times but slows to a stop. Both of your breathing in sync. He rests his head on your back. You both just stay there for a minute. His cock still buried in you. You both relish what just happened. It felt really good.. Really really good⊠but oh my god.Â
You just fucked Jungkook.
How, bizarre.
Jungkook kissed your shoulder softly before pulling away and getting out of bed. He stood too quickly, feeling a little dizzy, but more from the weight of what had just happened. You stifled a small whine at the loss of contact, quickly covering your mouth. He chuckled through his heavy breaths, but you couldnât look at himâyour face was already burning with embarrassment.Â
What the hell did I just do?
You didnât want to think about it, but you couldnât help yourself. The guy you hated more than anyone was just in bed with you. His hands, his mouth, his entire presenceâeverything felt so good, too good. You hated him, didnât you? This shouldnât have happened. Yet, the feeling of him still lingered on your skin, and worse, a part of you already missed it.
Reality hit harder the moment you sat up. How long had the two of you been gone? You turned over, and Jungkook was already reaching out a hand to help you up. We canât stay here. We need to get back. He held your dress in his other hand. Â
âThank you. We need to get back.â You say at almost a whisper as you begin to redress yourself.Â
You rushed into the bathroom, flicking on the light. Seeing yourself in the mirror made everything feel even more real. Your hair was a mess, and you looked⊠well, you looked like youâd just been thoroughly fucked. You wiped at your neck where heâd left a tiny mark, hidden easily enough, but tomorrow? You were going to have to get creative.Â
Jungkook, meanwhile, was dressing in the other room, moving on autopilot. He stared at his ruined slacks, feeling a strange satisfaction. Damn, what did we just do? He hadnât expected any of this, not with you. You were the last person he ever thought he'd sleep with, but there you were, both standing at the edge of something that shouldnât have happened.
I donât regret it, though. Should I? He shook his head. It canât happen again.
When you came back out, dressed, Jungkook saw the tension written all over your face, mirroring his own. It was thick between you, the weight of what just happened hanging in the air. He cleared his throat, glancing at his phone.
He cleared his throat. âYeah we should hurry.â He had checked the time on his phone, it was well past time that the two of you needed to be back.
The air felt tense between the two of you. What you both just did felt amazing but you also fucking despise this guy. You pretty sure that hate didnât go away. Knowing what he can do in bed though certainly makes that feeling all the more confusing.Â
I guess you just go back to hating the guy. He would go back to hating you.
âIâm going to go down first.â You said and you donât look at him.Â
He hums in agreement. Better to not show up together, not that you believe anyone would be at all suspicious of what you two had done.
âThis is never happening again.â You say back, a seriousness behind your voice.Â
It shouldnât happen again. You're reeling a little but from the touch of Jungkookâs skin, how it made you feel so warm. So inviting, even though he makes you burn with a fiery rage.Â
Your head was completely cloudy, and your mouth with the left over taste of a cigarette.Â
Downstairs, you entered the rehearsal as if nothing had happened. The walk had been a blur, your mind still buzzing from the touch of his skin, the way he made you feel even though you despised him. Your heart was still pounding, but you pushed it all aside when Melanie spotted you.
âThank God, everythingâs a mess. Where have you been?â she asked, concern mixed with curiosity.
You pulled yourself together, forcing a smile. âSorry, Jungkook and I were⊠talking. I think weâre good now.â
âTalking?â She raised an eyebrow, clearly suspicious. âYou guys actually talked?â
âYeah, sort of,â you replied, keeping it casual. âNo more fighting this weekend.â
After some time Jungkook also rejoined the party. You spent the entire party not speaking and not even looking at each other. Nothing else happened, like it never happened. A secret the two of you could bury way deep down. Except it kept playing over in your mind into the next morning. You were completely distracted getting dressed and doing hair and makeup.
Ash definitely took notice.
"Hey, where did you disappear to last night?" Ash tapped your shoulder, snapping you out of your thoughts.
You blinked a few times, trying to refocus. Whereâs my head right now? Well, you knew exactly where. You were still reeling from last night, mentally replaying every fight with Jungkook, trying to figure out how the two of you ended up⊠here.
âOh.â You forced a casual tone, definitely not because you had slept with the person you hated most. âJungkook and I got into a fight.â
âShocker.â Ash rolled her eyes, not even mildly surprised.
âIt was bad this time. Namjoon stepped in, got mad, so we took it outside...â You trailed off, hoping that would be enough to dodge further questions.
She raised a hand, halting you. âIf youâre about to tell me you punched him and I missed it, Iâm going to be pissed.â
You laughed. âI didnât punch him. Wanted to, though.â
âSo, what happened?â She raised an eyebrow, her curiosity not dropping.
Nothing Iâm admitting out loud.
âWe came to a truce... of sorts.â You gulped.
âI donât get why heâs always up your ass.â Ash finally seemed to let it go. âWhat was he picking a fight about this time?â
âHe just wanted to piss me off, I guess.â
At that moment, Melanie stepped out of the dressing room, her hair, makeup, and dress all done. She looked beautiful. Her mom and sister fussed over minor details, but she was radiant, if a little nervous. Hopefully, sheâd relax more once we started pictures.
Apparently, sheâd had a minor meltdown about dinner last night because the caterers were short on some items, which shifted the schedule. She seemed to have forgotten about it this morning, though. Youâd gone straight to the reception area to help smooth things over.
For all the times Melanie had helped you, it was a small favor. Hopefully, today would go smoothly.
âYou look so beautiful,â you say, feeling tears prick at the corners of your eyes.
âNo crying!â Melanie waves you off frantically. âThe makeup cannot get messed up!â
She fans her face like crazy, trying to hold it together. You glance over at Ash, whoâs already wiping away a tear.
âAsh!â You bump her gently.
âI canât help it,â she mutters, dabbing under her eyes with her fingers.
âMelanie, we need to get down to the fountain for the reveal and photos,â the wedding planner calls out as she steps into the room. You glance at your phone and realize timeâs running outâyou need to get out of the hotel room now.
âI know, I know.â Melanie smooths out her dress, her mom hovering nearby trying to fuss with her hair, but Melanie waves her away.
Grabbing your bouquets, you start ushering everyone out the door. Itâs a bit chaotic navigating through the hotel, with guests stopping every few steps to offer their congratulations. Itâs sweet, but youâve got a time limit, and you and Ash do your best to shield Melanie from well-wishers, playing defense as you maneuver outside.
Eventually, you make it to the courtyard. The photographer, who had been by earlier to get pictures of the hair and makeup process was here again, had gone ahead to get some shots of Namjoon before the big reveal.
âHeâs going to bawl like a baby,â you say with a smile, and Melanie laughs in agreement.
âHe is so going to cry.â
âYou are too, though. I expect full waterworks.â You nudge her playfully.
âIâve got tissues at the ready,â Ash announces, pulling out a small packet of tissues stashed between her boobs.
âNo one wants your boob tissues!â you protest, cringing a little.
âSays you!â Ash pouts, stuffing the tissues back into her bra defiantly.
You all come to a halt as the photographerâs voice carries around the corner. Deciding to check if everythingâs set, you sneak ahead and peek around the wall leading to the fountain. Namjoon stands facing the water, the photographer taking a few last shots of him.
You run back to Melanie and whisper, âWeâre ready.â
She takes a deep breath before stepping forward. You, Ash, and the others stay back to watch the exchange.
The photographer takes a few more photos of Melanie as she approaches Namjoon from behind. Finally, the photographer waves her forward to tap him on the shoulder. He turns slowly, his eyes still closed.
You hear Melanie giggle softly as she pats him again to get him to open his eyes. The second he does, Namjoon doesnât hesitateâhe pulls her into his arms and lifts her off the ground, spinning her around like sheâs the most precious thing in the world.
He sets her down gently, taking a moment just to look at her. You canât hear what he says, but the words clearly make Melanie smile before they kiss. Itâs such a tender moment that you feel your own eyes start to well up.
The photographer waves you all over, and you, Ash, Serena, and her mom step out from behind the wall, walking toward the fountain. As you get closer, itâs clearâNamjoon and Melanie are both absolute blubbering messes, completely lost in the moment. More touching than youâd imagined.
âOh no,â you laugh and smile fondly at the both of them, âNot the both of you.â
Namjoon is wiping his eyes, and Melanie is also wiping his face while she wipes her own.Â
âI canât stop.â He says so innocently.Â
âShit I canât stop either.â Melanie is trying to fan herself.Â
Ash comes to the rescue, with now an unpacked tissue. You laugh to yourself a little.Â
âNever thought I would be so happy to see a boob tissue.â Melanie laughs and accepts the tissue.Â
âA what?â Namjoon asks and looks between you.Â
âDonât worry about it.â You pat him on the shoulder.Â
They both try to pull themselves together, with joyful sniffles. Namjoon didnât let go of her for a second. His eyes are filled with nothing but her. It makes your heart scream.
âOkay, now we can get pictures with everyone.â The photographer yells a little louder. The fountain as a little loud for everyone to hear. You didnât seem to notice she was actually trying to call over the groomsmen who were waiting a ways away.Â
âHey guys!â Namjoon calls and does that cool like two finger in your mouth whistle thing.Â
You and Ash both try to mimic Namjoon and fail miserably. Just getting spit on your hands.Â
The groomsmen usher their way over and are ready and waiting for instructions.Â
âOkay, we will start getting a picture of everyone lined up! Bride and groom in the middle and then the maid of honor and the best man.âÂ
Everyone lined up in order and Ash placed herself behind you. You get a couple of shots like this, some serious and some goofy. You couldnât wait to see them later.Â
âOkay letâs get a picture of just the groomsmen and the bridesmaids really quick.âÂ
She waves for Melanie and Namjoon to step away from the group really quick. You then come face to face with the scum of the earth himself. You had been avoiding acknowledging him up until this point. Jungkook just gives you the widest shit eating grin he can muster. You canât help but have a look of disdain. His look is the one that says âwe fucked last nightâ.
Fucking embarrassing.Â
âMorning.â He says a little too pridefully.
âStop looking at me like that.â You groan before standing immediately next to him, making sure you arenât touching.Â
âPlay nice you two.â You hear Namjoon call off from the side, some of the other snicker knowing exactly who heâs addressing.
âI think we can take a picture, Namjoon.â You smile almost embarrassed, everyone else very audibly disagrees.
âSure, we can.â Jungkook says, âAt least I can.âÂ
You just shake off the comment.Â
Once the group shot is finished, you waste no time putting distance between yourself and Jungkook, stepping away as quickly as possible. The other bridesmaids follow your lead, and the groomsmen do the same, splitting into their own groups. Namjoon and Melanie are ushered back for more couple shots, their laughter filling the air as the photographer clicks away.
âJungkook canât leave you alone for one day, huh?â Ash breaks the silence in your head.
âSeriously,â you sigh.
âHe really does like provoking something out of you, doesnât he?â she adds with a knowing grin.
âThis is exactly what Iâve been saying!â You throw your arms up dramatically, earning a laugh from her.
You glance back at Namjoon and Melanie. They look absolutely radiant, like theyâre in their own little world. Namjoon hasnât taken his eyes off her the entire time.
âThey look so happy, donât they?â Ash comments, her gaze softening as she watches the couple.
You nod, a slight smile tugging at your lips. âYeah, they really do.â
âGot your sights set on anyone for the evening?â Ash wiggles her eyebrows mischievously.
âThat was random.â You give her a look. âAnd no, Iâll probably be going to bed early tonight. This wedding has been months of stress on the brain. Iâll be happy to turn in, thanks.â
âThatâs exactly why you should stay up! Youâve helped Melanie plan this whole thing from the very beginning. You deserve to enjoy it too!â Ash grins widely, nudging you playfully.
You roll your eyes. âSeeing Melanie happy is all the reward I need from today. No random hook-up is going to top that.â and you know⊠you already had one.
âUgh, youâre no fun.â She leans against you, feigning a whine.
âI donât know,â you muse. âIâm just not interested unless itâs with someone who looks at me like how Namjoon looks at Melanie.â You gesture toward the couple, where Namjoon is still gazing at his bride-to-be like sheâs the only person in the world.
Ash cocks her head. âHow would you describe it?â
You pause, watching as Melanie stumbles near the fountain, nearly pulling Namjoon with her. For a second, your heart skips a beat, but they both catch themselves, bursting into laughter. The moment is so full of joy, so genuine, you canât help but sigh.
âHe looks at her like he canât breathe without her. Like sheâs the air that keeps him going. And itâs the same the other way around. They push each other to be better, to grow. And somehow, through that, they keep falling deeper in love.â Your voice grows soft, almost wistful. You want that too, you realize. But it feels out of reachâlike something only other people get to have.
Ash is quiet for a moment before she nods. âI get it. You want someone to breathe for, too. Someone who makes you want to be better.â
She pinches your cheek playfully, making an exaggerated cooing sound, and you swat her hand away, laughing.
âNot just that,â you add thoughtfully. âI want someone who makes me feel like fire too.â
Ash raises an eyebrow, teasing. âYou want someone to set you on fire? Kinky.â
You shove her with a grin. âYou know what I mean. I want tenderness, but I also want passion. The kind that burns. Most people donât really want the specific kind of passion Iâm looking for.â
Ash considers this for a moment, and you both fall into a comfortable silence. Itâs not something you talk about oftenâyour idea of love. Mostly because it seems too ideal, too unattainable. Youâve placed it high on a shelf, a fantasy youâve all but convinced yourself isnât real.
âI think youâll find that,â Ash hums after a while.
You shrug. âYeah? Well, let me know when you find them.â
âFind who?â
Of course, the second you think the day might calm down, Jungkook appears behind you, his voice as obnoxious as ever.
âSpeaking of fire extinguishers,â you mutter under your breath before turning to face him. âWhat do you want?â you ask, your tone dry.
âJust thought Iâd let you knowâyou look nice,â he says, flashing you that infuriating smile again.
âWell, thatâsââ you start, but before you can finish, he adds.
âOh, not you. I was talking to Ash.â
You catch the smirk on his face and feel your cheeks flush. Of course. Why were you even surprised? Heâs just determined to remind you of how much of a mistake last night was.
âYou really came over here just for that?â you ask, your patience wearing thin.
âYup,â he says, popping the âpâ like itâs the most satisfying thing in the world.
âFuck you.â
âFunny you say that, Ashââ Jungkook starts to reply, but you shove him away before he can finish.
You glare at him, but he doesnât press the issue. Instead, he steps back with a smirk, clearly content with having annoyed you. Linking arms with Ash, you walk away, putting as much distance between the two of you as possible.
âJust ignore him. Stay ten feet away all day.â
âWe have to walk down the aisle together.â
Ash sighs. âOkay, other than that, stay ten feet away from him.â
The pictures had finally wrapped up, after what felt like a few thousand poses in every scenic corner of the hotel. The fairy tale vibe was exactly what Melanie had dreamed of, but now it was getting close to go time.
Except, of course, you couldnât find the Best Man.
You paced around the ceremony hall, looking for Jungkook. He had exactly one job, and he managed to vanish right before it. Frustration boiled in your chest. Naturally, heâd run off now.
âWhere the hell is he?â you muttered, stepping outside into the warm afternoon air. The sun greeted you, but so did the smell of cigarettes. A flash of last night flickered across your mind. Nope. Not going there.
You rounded the corner, and there he was. Of course. Standing there like nothing was wrong, cigarette in hand. Taehyung was next to him, equally guilty.
âWhat the hell are you two doing?â Your voice is coming out a little more aggressive than you intended.
âOh my god,â Taehyung grabbed his chest in shock and held the cigarette away from him, âhow did this get in my hand!â He threw the cigarette down like it had betrayed him and gave you his most innocent look.
Jungkook just stood there, holding the cigarette in his mouth and taking in a long breath.Â
âJust get your ass inside.â You look pointedly at Taehyung and he bows his head a little.
âSorry, Iâm going.â He drops his cigarette on the ground and stomps it out.Â
He then runs past you to head on inside and you follow him with your head, before you turn to look back at Jungkook. Who has not put out his cigarette.Â
âWell?â you say folding your arms over your chest.Â
He looks at you confused like he is supposed to do something.
âAre we supposed to be somewhere right now?â He says sarcastically, almost playful. Now coming your direction.Â
âDonât start with me, you damn well know we need to be lining up to walk down that aisle in like five minutes and youâre out here smoking!â you rub the side of your head, you really didnât want to do this right now.Â
âIâm kidding Iâm sorry I really thought we had more time,â he drops his cigarette and stomps it out, unfinished, âLets get this show on the road.â
For once, he didnât argue. Progress.
âThank you,â you muttered, leading the way back inside.
âNo problem,â he said, tone as dry as sandpaper. Â
You turned around and you went inside first. He was close behind you heading back into the ceremony hall. You rushed a little because you had to go be in line right now or the wedding coordinator would have your head. Ash was in the line in front of you and had your flowers ready for you to grab when you got in line.Â
You and Jungkook were in the back of the line so that when you lined up you would be first behind the bride and groom at the alter.Â
You mouth a âthank youâ to Ash as you take them and hold it in your right hand. You look next to you and Jungkook is already holding his arm for you to take. You groan a little bit and wrap your arm around his.Â
âYou stink.â You huff.
âDidnât seem to be a problem yesterday-âŠâ
âShut the fuck up.â
You elbowed him hard, earning a gasp, but he recovered quickly. Just as you settled in, Melanie popped up behind you, looking like she might explode from excitement or nerves.
âAre you two going to be okay back here?âÂ
âYes you just focus on your wedding.â You give her a soft smile.
âYou look lovely Melanie.â Jungkook looks back at her and smiles.
âAwe thank you Jungkook. Stop giving my maid of honor a hard time.â She pats him on the shoulder.Â
âFine, only for you though.â He smiles very genuinely.Â
The music in the Ceremony Hall began and everyone in front of you started walking down the aisle. You smile back to Melanie one more time before you and Jungkook begin to walk.Â
The ceremony went off without a hitch. Namjoon and Melanieâs vows were beautiful, heartfelt, and perfect.
But the day was far from over.
As soon as the ceremony ended, you slipped out to the reception hall, tackling Melanieâs last-minute worries so she could enjoy some alone time with Namjoon. It was a long dayâthey deserved a moment to themselves.
Unfortunately, things werenât running as smoothly here. The DJ was late, so you had to improvise. The hotel lent a larger speaker, and the planner decided to shuffle the scheduleâdinner and speeches first, dancing later.
Most of the guests had already arrived, found their seats, and were milling around. The open bar helped keep them entertained. Ash was busy working the room, chatting with everyone and keeping things lively, while you stayed on the outskirts, handling logistics.
Stationed by the front door, you kept an eye on the time, knowing youâd need to get things rolling soon, even without a DJ.
âHello.â Jungkookâs voice rang next to you.
âYes?â You look at him blankly.
âCan I help with anything?âÂ
âNo.â You sniff and continue doing what you were doing.Â
You walk away from him and he keeps right on your toes. He expected that exact answer from you but he didnât stop. He placed himself in front of you, making you come to a halt.Â
âOh come on. There is seriously nothing I can help you with? You look like youâre under a lot of stress.â
âNo, because I donât need your help Jungkook.â
He crossed his arms, irritation flashing across his face. âYou know this is my friendâs wedding too. Thought Iâd try to make things go smoother, but I guess youâve got it handled.â
âGreat, then go have a nice time,â you said, waving him off.
âYou seriously canât relinquish control if itâs me, huh? Whatââ
You angrily groan and push him a little further away from other guests and cover your ears with your hands in frustration.Â
âGod I canât do this right now Jungkook. I donât have the brain power to fight with you right now.â You let out a long sigh of anger. âJust go away.â
He was annoyed and so were you. You donât get why it was such a big deal and why you couldnât just let him help. You just didnât want him to ruin anything. You didnât know where that feeling came from, that he would ruin anything. Maybe just to spite you, because it felt like something he would do.Â
âSee this just makes me believe that last night was a waste of time. Nothingâs changed.â You rub your face a little bit.Â
âMaybe. Right now though we donât have time to deal with that.â His voice was pretty steady, he was feeling the same, âI can help though. Just tell me what I can do..âÂ
He was looking right at you. You hadnât looked straight at him. You let yourself for a moment though and he looked genuine.
âThe DJ isnât here.â You let go.Â
âOkay⊠we do have some music playing though.â
âOkay but no one is announcing Namjoon and Melanie.â
He cocked his head to the side like he was a little confused.Â
âAnnouncing them?â
âLike âLadies and gentlemen, for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Kimâ that whole thing.â You wave your hands around trying to describe it.Â
He just watches your hands fly around everywhere.Â
âOkay. Iâll do it then.â He says it so matter of factly, so easily. âWe have a microphone set up. I can easily introduce them. Maybe even throw in a joke or two.â Â
This was a small weight off your shoulder.Â
âI was honestly dreading having to do it. Iâm pretty worried about my speech. I donât like talking in front of others.âÂ
You had been dreading the thought. You made some note cards, they werenât very good and the story was pretty boring. It was still something.Â
âWell this is one less thing you need to worry about.â He gave you what looked like a little bit of a smile, âSee? I can be helpful.â
You roll your eyes.
âIâm sure your speech is great.â You mumble a little.Â
He had a certain confidence in himself that you envied a little bit.Â
Except you didnât because you would never envy Jungkook. Obviously.
Still.
âCan I read your speech?â Jungkook held out his hand like you were just going to hand over the cards.
âUh no.âÂ
âIâm sure itâs good.â
For some reasonâmaybe because you were already too stressedâyou actually did. You pulled the cards from your pocket and dropped them into his hand. He flipped through them with the speed of someone browsing a restaurant menu.
âItâs not that bad,â he said, still holding onto your cards.
âReally?â You picked at the skin on your thumb, surprised. It was weirdly nice hearing that.
âOh yeah,â he smirked, wiping his nose before leaning closer. âNow letâs see if you can remember it.â
He then slipped your cards into the inside of his jacket. Your eyes widened at the action and immediately lunged for him and he backed up.Â
âYouâre not fucking serious right now Jungkook.â You were trying to set him on fire with your eyes. He looked rather amused, âGive me back my cards before I kill you.â
He kept reaching out of your arm range. He knew if you got a hold of him, he was going to the ground for sure.Â
âCanât do that.â He grabs hold of one of your wrists and stops you. âSpeak from within.â
âIâm going to kill you. That is the worst advice!â You actually couldnât believe what was happening.Â
Was he fucking five years old?
âI didnât write down my speech.â He sounded so cheeky.
âGood for you.â You groaned, throwing your hands up. There was no way you were getting those cards back now.
He really was not going to give it back.Â
Jungkook, still looking way too pleased with himself, tapped the side of his jacket. âIâm serious, though. Youâll have better things to say than whatâs on these cards.â
âOkay, but not everyone can just whip it out like you!â
âWellââ
âDonât.â You cut him off, pointing a finger at his face as the joke formed in his mind. He was practically buzzing with the urge to say it, but you could see him weighing whether it was worth the inevitable wrath.
Just then, your phone buzzedâa message from Melanie letting you know they were waiting outside. Jungkook leaned over your shoulder and peeked at the message too.
âLooks like itâs showtime.â He grinned, leaning way too close to your ear before taking off in a jog across the room.
You watched, half-annoyed, half-amused, as he reached the speaker playing music and paused it. The roomâs chatter became the only sound as he tapped the microphone a few times, then cleared his throat loudly.
âMic works!â He beamed, casually removing it from the stand like he was born to hold it. All eyes turned toward him. âAlright, everyone, sorry for the delay! It is my absolute pleasure to present to you all, for the very first time... Mr. and Mrs. Kim!â
He started clapping before anyone else, but soon the whole room joined in, everyone turning toward the doors as Namjoon and Melanie made their entrance. They looked overjoyedâand completely exhaustedâbut the energy in the room was contagious. You clapped too, quietly slipping toward your table at the edge of the room.
As Namjoon and Melanie finally reached their seats, the room began to settle, everyone sitting down together just as you reached your chair.
Jungkook still has the microphone and is standing in the middle of the dance floor in front of everyone.Â
âSo, Iâm Jungkook as many of you know. The best man. It is my duty to let you know there has been a slight change of plan for the night folks.â He was really good at speaking to the whole room, âWe are going to get the kiss and cry out of the way first tonight so we can all party and celebrate with my wonderful friends here.â
He flashes a very genuine smile over to Namjoon and Melanie. Who were sitting so close they could have melted together.Â
âFirst thing I will say is drink responsibly tonight everyone!â He points around the room, âSpecifically you mister.â
He points over to Namjoon who raises his hands up in defense. Everyone laughs a little bit.
âSpeaking of whom,â Jungkook clears his throat, âI have a little story. We all know Namjoon to be kind of like a dad,â the guests all nod and agree, âHe is pretty responsible and takes care of others a lot. What some may not know though is Namjoon does not hold his alcohol very well.âÂ
Everyone in the room either laughed a little or let out some low chatter.Â
âNamjoon is actually a terrible lightweight. So he usually is the responsible one when we are out.â He paced around the room a little, âThis story has to do with the night he met Melanie. He had a terrible week at his job, several years ago now.â
****************************************************
Four years prior.
Jungkook shoved his way into the bar, immediately swallowed by the crowd. It was packedâbusier than he'd ever seen it, and it made finding Namjoon seem impossible. He craned his neck, scanning over heads and across booths, trying to spot his friend among the chaos.
âCome on, manâŠâ Jungkook muttered, pulling out his phone and dialing Namjoonâs number, which, of course, went straight to voicemail. âYouâve gotta be kidding me.â
He sighed and left yet another voicemail.
âDude, the one time you decide to turn off your phone? Iâve been looking everywhereââ
Jungkook froze mid-sentence, spotting Namjoon on the dance floor, swaying wildly in a sea of strangers. He cut the call and couldnât help but laugh. Namjoon was not the kind of guy who danced with strangersâever. And yet, here he was, fruity cocktail in hand, looking like he was auditioning for some bizarre dance competition.
Jungkook fumbled for his phone again, snapping a quick picture to roast him with later.
âOh, buddy⊠you are done for,â he muttered, still laughing as he pushed through the crowd toward him.
Just as he was about to reach him, someone yanked Namjoon off the dance floor. Jungkook's eyes narrowed as he watched a girlâsomeone he didnât recognizeâdrag Namjoon over to a booth and force water down his throat like he was a wilting plant.
âDo you have any friends I can call?â she asked, practically shouting to be heard over the noise. Namjoon, half-asleep, slumped against her shoulder in a drunken stupor.
âI have a friend named Jeonnnnyyy,â Namjoon slurred, and Jungkook cringed, feeling secondhand embarrassment from a distance.
The girl sighed, shaking her head. âOkay, can I have your phone to call him?â
âNo no no no no no no,â Namjoon mumbled, waving his hands as if the mere thought of Jungkook seeing him like this was some mortal sin. âHeâd laugh at me.â
The girlâs patience was saintly. âIâm sure heâd be happy youâre alive, but sure, whatever you say. Let me just text himââ
âI canât leave. If I leave, I have to go back to work and get fired.â Namjoon hiccupped, sagging further into the booth. âI f-fucked up at work.â He looked like a kicked puppy, and it was almost pitiful.
The girl patted his arm reassuringly. âHey, we all screw up. Youâre not the first person to mess up at work. Trust me, I screw up all the time.â
Namjoon blinked at her, looking like heâd just found the meaning of life in her words. âYeah, but I canât screw up. I have to take care of everything.â His voice cracked with the weight of it, and he slouched even lower.
âWell, let me take care of you tonight,â she said softly, pushing his sweat-dampened hair back from his face. âJust for tonight. Let me carry the weight for a bit.â
Jungkook could see the change in Namjoonâs faceâa moment where everything clicked for him, and suddenly he was grounded. âYouâre beautiful,â he mumbled, almost too quietly for Jungkook to hear.
The girl laughed, brushing it off. âYouâre a mess, but thanks. Now, let me have your phone. Iâll call Johnny.â
That was Jungkookâs cue.
âJohnny here,â he announced, stepping up with a grin. âActually, it's Jungkook.â He clapped a hand on Namjoonâs shoulder, squeezing gently.
âJeonnnnyyy!â Namjoon cheered, looking up at him with bleary eyes, completely oblivious to the embarrassment of it all.
The girl stood and crossed her arms, her brow creased with concern. âYou know him? How did you even find us?â
Jungkook chuckled, pulling Namjoon to his feet. âHe called me before he decided to turn off his phone. Classic Namjoon move.â Namjoon practically collapsed into him, his weight dragging both of them down slightly. âI think itâs time to call it a night, buddy.â
With the girl helping to steady Namjoonâs other side, they guided him through the crowd and outside, plopping him down on a bench.
Jungkook pulled out his phone to order an Uber. âThanks for looking after him in there,â he said, rubbing the back of his neck. âHe usually doesnât need babysitting, but today was⊠rough.â
She smiled warmly, wiping some of the sweat from Namjoonâs face. âNo problem at all. Iâm Melanie, by the way.â She extended a hand, and Jungkook shook it gratefully.
âNice to meet you. Iâve got it from here, though. You should head back inside.â
Namjoon, however, had other plans. âStayyyy!â he chanted, practically bouncing on the bench. âDonât gooo!â
Melanie laughed but knelt in front of him, pressing a piece of paper into his hand. âHere. If you ever need to talk, give me a call, okay?â
Then like that she was gone and heading back inside. Namjoon held the piece of paper up above his head. Namjoon was smirking at him, just watching him completely star struck over this little piece of paper.Â
****************************************************
âI got Namjoon home that night,â Jungkook said, laughing as he addressed the room at the reception. âAnd yes, I made sure to stick the little piece of paper on his fridge. Luckily, he didnât chicken out and actually called her.â
Namjoon stood up with a sheepish grin. âFull disclosure, he did stay at my place the next morning and bugged me non-stop until I called her.â
Some laughter came from around the room, Jungkook was soared through this with ease. Seeing you basically stare daggers into the side of his head the entire time.
âOkay fine, he was a little baby. Though the rest is history now.â He sighed, âDude you fucking scored.âÂ
He ran over to Namjoon really quick and gave him a fist bump.Â
âSeriously though, I could not be more happy than to be the best man at this wedding. Iâm so happy to see you this comfortable and at ease with someone. She is amazing. I couldnât be more excited to see how you two grow together. If I find someone who makes me just as happy or comfortable as Melanie does for you. I will consider myself lucky. Congratulations to the both of you.âÂ
Everyone clapped, and a few sniffles echoed through the room as Jungkook wrapped up his speech. You couldnât help but admire how effortlessly charming he was when addressing an audience. His story had been sweet, and it stirred fond memories in you. You recalled a slightly different version from Melanieâs perspectiveâshe had fallen for Namjoon that night, captivated by his blend of adorableness and vulnerability.
Thank goodness heâd called her.
You remembered how quickly theyâd started dating after that. They dove headfirst into a whirlwind of outings, and Melanie was completely smitten while Namjoon was lost in her. Their connection had been instant. Years had passed since that fateful first date, but today felt like the culmination of a long journeyâa day that had been long overdue.
âAlright, I now need to turn over the mic to my esteemed colleague.â Jungkook spun on his heel, his gaze locking onto you, and your heart leaped into your throat. That familiar, infuriating grin spread across his face. âLadies and gentlemen, the Maid of Honor!â
He strode over to you, extending a hand to help you up. You accepted it, grimacing at the unwanted attention, as he hoisted you to your feet. He placed the microphone in your hands, and you could feel all eyes on you as you made your way to the dance floor. Sweat prickled at your brow, and your nerves danced wildly in your stomach.
A quick glance at Ash, who gave you a thumbs-up, and Melanieâs encouraging cheers offered a semblance of comfort, though you still felt like you might explode.
âHi everyone, I am Y/N.â you managed, your voice wavering slightly. âI had a speech prepared for this occasion, but apparently, someone who shall remain namelessâdefinitely not Jungkookâdecided to take my notecards. So, Iâm winging it!â
That got you a few laughs, out of the corner of your eye you could see Ash hit Jungkook. You gripped the microphone tightly, focusing your gaze on the floor to steady your nerves.
âAnyway, I have a story thatâs somewhat fitting. Itâs about Melanie and Namjoonâs first dateâan experience that couldnât have gone more wrong. Namjoon had planned an elegant evening at a nice restaurant, but wouldnât you know it, the place caught fire when they arrived. So, they shifted gears and went to see a movie instead, which turned out to be utterly terrible.â
A few chuckles rippled through the crowd, and you took a deep breath, pushing on.
âDetermined to salvage the night, they decided to grab some snacks and hang out in a park. But hereâs where it gets really interestingâNamjoon accidentally caused Melanie to go into anaphylactic shock because he didnât know she was allergic to peanuts! And just when they thought things couldnât get worse, it started pouringâI'm talking a torrential downpour, not a light drizzle.â
âItâs true!â Melanie called out from the back, prompting you to scrunch your face playfully at him.
âSome would say that, yeah thatâs a really terrible date. Some may take that as a sign from the universe that you two shouldnât be together. I certainly did. Melanie had a different perspective...â
****************************************************
âIâm your emergency contact?â You found Melanieâs bed in a far corner of the your own hospitals ER. You were technically in the middle of a shift when another nurse in the ER called you.
You had no idea Melanie had placed you down as her emergency contact. You were glad to see nothing crazy had happened. You came and sat in the chair that was available next to her.Â
âYeah, I donât have a lot of family in the city.â She looked embarrassed, she played with her hands in her lap. You took one of her hands.Â
âThis is not the place I like to see you in after a date, What happened?â You scrunch your eyebrows together in some serious concern.Â
âOh, I promise it was nothing insane. I had a reaction to some peanuts but Iâm really okay!â She assured you and she sat up in her bed.Â
âWell thatâs good, was the date good otherwise?â
âItâs actually been a crazy day. First the restaurant caught fire, our movie was terrible, I went into shock and then it rained on us.â She was laughing and you were confused, sounded like a really terrible date.Â
âOh my god.â You were in shock just listening to her. âSo Iâm assuming youâre never seeing this guy again?â
Before Melanie could get in a word, Namjoon had come back with some water cups. He was walking slowly as not to spill. You hadnât had a chance to see what this guy looked like. He was very handsome, no wonder Melanie suck around during this natural disaster.Â
âWater for you.â Melanie takes her water with a smile, âAnd Iâm sorry how about you take this one.â
Namjoon tries to pass you the other water but you wave him off to keep the water. He takes a different chair next to the bed.Â
âIâm Y/N, nice to meet you.â You give him a small wave and he nods. âYou must be Namjoon.â
âThatâs me.â He smiles, he looked embarrassed.
âYou donât have to stay Iâm really okay.â Melanie assures him.
âOh no itâs okay. I may go find where they put your jacket though, some nurse took it and hasnât brought it back.â Namjoon set down his cup and got up again to see if he could find the nurse.Â
âHeâs here?â You look back to Melanie.
âYeah he was so worried heâs stayed the whole time.â
âThatâs sweet. Do I need to scare him off?â You give her a serious look.
âNo no donât. I actually want to keep spending time with him.â She sits closer to you, âAll of those things did go wrong. Except all the conversations weâve had have been like⊠Itâs like Iâve never clicked so well with someone so fast. Heâs been very kind and is listening. He has very thoughtful and intelligent things to say to every topic I bring up. Heâs very goofy and awfully clumsy, but I never felt more safe. So I promise itâs okay.â
âStill, you donât know him.â You were hesitant.Â
âI swear to you that if anything happens Iâll call you in. Then we can kick his ass.â You placed a hand on your shoulder and you smile.Â
Melanie would probably break all of his bones before anything could happen.Â
âItâs funny though. I was serious. Itâs like every time I talk to him, Iâm just so at peace.â
***********************************************************************
âI stuck around because, you know, your best friend has a medical emergency with a random guy; you canât just leave. We all talked for a while, but it became glaringly obvious when Namjoon came back that he was already so in love with her. I had never seen Melanie let her guard down with someone like that.â You chuckled, and everyone else joined in.
âThat night, Melanie came back to my place, and I swear she didnât shut up about himânot even for a second. She explained everything that happened in excruciating detail, and I thought it was the craziest first-date story Iâd ever heard. But that wasnât what captivated her. It was how Namjoon smiled, how kind and funny he was, how charming. She didnât care that everything had gone wrong; she only cared about seeing him again. That was when I knew this was serious. This wasnât just some flingâNamjoon was sticking around.â
You smiled at Melanie and Namjoon, realizing she had found exactly what sheâd been looking for. He was the one who would treasure her heart, never to crush it. You remembered the night she met him, how she called you about another idiot she had to rescue, how he reminded her of you and how stupid he was.
She was in love with Namjoon from the very first night.
âAll I have left to say is, Namjoon, Iâm sorry I thought you were a creep. I couldnât have asked for anyone better for Melanie to be with. Congratulations!â
You clapped, and everyone followed suit. Letting out a heavy breath of relief, you quickly made your way back to your seat. Ash was practically glowing, excitement written all over her face.
âThat was so good!â She pats you on the back a you sit down.
âIt was literally the only memory I could think of to be honest.â You scoot your chair in and you watch as dinner was being served to each table. Your food being sat in front of you.Â
You look back to Namjoon and Melanie who were only looking at each other. She was so happy, so in love, and has gotten everything she wanted. We finally made it to this day.
Thank god because you were over wedding planning for a long time.Â
âWe did it.â You said, Ash was also looking over at them.Â
âWe really did. Now we get to party and have a good time!â She looks at her drink for a moment and then hand sit to you, âDrink up. This night could only get better if you fall on your faceâÂ
You rolled your eyes and push her drink back over to her plate.Â
Everyone at dinner and mingled, a lot of the relatives from both Namjoon and Melanie's sides of the family came over and talked to you. Slowly everyone finished up and cake was also served. Namjoon and Melanie were not fond of the official cake cutting thing so they just wanted it to be served out once dinner was done. Everyone ate and mingled, and you got to hear lots of stories about Namjoon over the years. He really was just a good guy, everyone spoke of him so highly.Â
Even though he was one of your good friends, it was so interesting to hear about him from before.Â
You also got to hear some childhood stories about Melanie that you were going to keep in your memory for later. Definitely some embarrassing ones you can bring up at other times. Eventually the DJ showed up and everyone began to dance. Everyone is getting more and more drinks in them and loosening up. You were also one of these people. It was nice to finally wind down after a very stressful weekend.Â
Just dance and have a nice time.Â
You had gone back to your table though and it was now a slow song, which gave you a chance to be off your feet for a little while. You did take off your shoes and just watched everyone dance. Melanie and Namjoon had begun to make some rounds around the room to greet family they hadnât had a chance to speak too yet. Ash was off dancing with some cousin or other of someone.Â
You just took a sip of your drink and closed your eyes for a moment and just listened to the music.Â
âAll alone?â There he was, the little pest who had avoided you all night.Â
You open your eyes and look at Jungkook who has taken Ashâs vacant seat.
âI donât see you with anyone.â You let out an annoyed sigh.Â
âHmm not true. I have been chatting up that lovely young thing over there.â He points past you.Â
Heâs pointing to Melanie's widowed grandmother. You couldnât help but let out a laugh.Â
âSheâs way out of your league.â You take a sip of your drink.Â
âI know right.â He says matter of factly, âThought I would come over and give this back to you though.â
He places your cards back on the table, you slide them back over to yourself, lining up the edges of them.
âThat was a mean prank Jungkook.â You scowl at him.Â
âIt worked didnât it? Your story was great.âÂ
âI guess.â You donât look at him, âCan you go bother someone else now.â
âI canât. Unfortunately, I have been tasked to ask you to dance.âÂ
You snort, laughing right in his face, maybe louder than necessary. âYouâre kidding, right?â
He doesnât even flinch. âNope. Brideâs orders. She wants to see you âenjoy yourself.â Her words, not mine,â he says, looking as unenthusiastic as you feel.
Your eyes narrow as you scan the room, landing on Melanie, whoâs grinning like a Cheshire cat and motioning toward the dance floor. You shake your head at her, but she just waves and mouths the word âGo,â as if you have a choice.
You sigh dramatically. âDo we really need to do this?â
âItâs her day. One dance.â
You roll your eyes. âFine. One. But if you step on my foot, Iâm taking you down.â
He stands up, stepping around the table with that annoyingly smug look. âShall we?â His smile is barely there, but itâs cocky enough to make your blood boil.
âDonât push it,â you mutter, taking his hand. You barely make contact, hovering your fingers above his like even touching him might burn you. As he leads you onto the dance floor, you bury yourselves among the other couples, hoping no oneâs watching. His hand settles on your waist, and instinctively, you pull away.
He raises an eyebrow, clearly amused. âItâs a dance, genius. I kind of have to touch you.â You begrudgingly let him place his hand back on your waist, feeling the heat of his fingers through the fabric. âNot like we havenât done more,â he adds with a smirk.
Your jaw tightens. âWe are not doing this right now.â
âWhy not? Itâs funny,â he says, grinning wider.
âItâs not funny. And if you make this a running joke, I swearââ
He cuts you off, still smiling. âAlright, no jokes. Just dancing.â
The silence between you is thick as you sway to the music, the tension almost unbearable. Every inch of you screams to get away, but somehow, you stay. His body is warmâtoo warmâand itâs irritating how natural it feels to fall into rhythm with him. You hate it.
âThis could be worse,â he murmurs, voice softer than you expect.
âYeah, I could be dancing with someone I actually like,â you shoot back, the words slipping out before you can stop them.
His eyes flick down to meet yours. âAlways so charming,â he says, rolling his eyes. âYou donât have to make this harder.â
You smirk, the alcohol making you bolder. âOh, trust me, I can make it way harder if you want.â
He snorts. âOf course youâd take it there.â
âJust saying. Youâre the one who couldnât keep it together last night,â you bite back, giving him a pointed look. Jungkook competitive side kicking into gear.
His hand tightens ever so slightly on your waist. âYouâre really gonna go there?â
âYou started it.â
Shaking his head. âFine. This isnât so bad, right? Weâve done worse things together.â
You bristle at his words, heat rising to your cheeks. âLike I said, letâs not make this a thing.â
âFine. But donât act like it wasnât on your mind.â His voice is low, taunting. It had been on your mind, but you had been doing your best to push it to a deep place inside you to forget.
You glare up at him. âI barely remember it.â
He grins, leaning in just enough that you can smell the cigarettes and cologne on him. âSure you donât.â
You roll your eyes, willing your heart to stop racing. âWhatever. This is officially the worst slow dance of my life.â
âMine too,â he says, but thereâs something in his tone that makes you think heâs not completely serious.
The song drags on, slow and painful. Finally, you break the silence. âSo... back to hating each other after tonight?â
He meets your eyes, his smirk fading just slightly. âThatâs the plan, isnât it?â
You hesitate for a second longer than you should. âYeah. I guess so.â
Thereâs a flicker of something in his expressionâsomething you donât have time to figure out before he lets you go, stepping back as the song ends.

-Dinner date-
Jungkook One-shot.
A cute smutty little storyâĄ
You and jungkook are sitting in the car, on your way to a dinner date. It has been so long since you guys have gone out since you both have been very busy. Now that you guys finally have some time for each other, you must make the best of it.
"Are you excited?" He asked, while keeping his eyes on the road.
"Yes, I am" you respond.
He looks over at you with a smile and puts his right hand on your thigh. You had on the prettiest little dress. You grip on to his hand and give him a smile back.
(You arrived)
"Hold on, I'll open the door for you"
"Okay"
U patiently wait for him. A slight smile appears on your face as you watch him walk from the front of the car to your door.
He opens it and bows like a prince.
"Stop it, act cool babe," You say laughing.
You step out of the car, and he closes the door behind you.
"I'm totally cool" he says pulling you in.
You give him a kiss as he pulls you closer to him.
Before you two get to distracted, you push him away slightly and start walking in the direction of the restaurant.
Someone is standing at the front desk. A lady. You notice that she is very pretty.
She smiles at Jungkook and greets him welcome. But not you.
"Hello, Mr Jeon. We are happy you are here. We hope you will enjoy, " she says, walking around the front desk, slightly touching jungkooks back, leading him in the direction of our booked seats. This whole time she didn't peak at you once. Her focus was on Jungkook and Jungkook only.
Already seeing this, you're not liking it.
You and jungkook take your seats.
Jungkook places his order.
" OH, that's a really good one, Mr Jeon. You have great taste," she says, slightly hitting jungkooks shoulder.
You decide to let it go and place your order. Once you place your order, the lady turns to you and says, " OH, are you sure? It's quite a lot of calories and I don't think you need the extra carbs, you know?...no offense"
You're not to sure how to react so you're speechless. You look at Jungkook in disbelief.
Jungkook doesn't say anything either and just stares at the menu.
(Does he also think I don't need the extra carbs? He already orderd, whats he looking at? Is he avoiding what that woman just said? ugh.)
"No, l..l would like this, thank you," you say, pointing at the dish in the menu.
"Mhm...alright", she replies.
"I'll be right back", she says, smiling at Jungkook.
This is ridiculous.
She ruined your whole vibe. Flirting and insulting. You didn't even feel like eating anymore or talking.
"So what have you been up to?"Jungkook asks, peeping at you.
U look at him straight in his face, say, "I'll be right back" (just like the lady), got up, and walked to the bathroom. Leaving him with no answer.
You're in the bathroom to try to keep calm and relax. There is technically no reason for u to be upset. You look at yourself in the mirror and take a deep breath.
*knock knock*
You look to your left to see Jungkook walking towards you. He rapps his hands around your waist and puts his chin on your shoulder.
"Whats wrong?"
"Nothing.."
"Tell me"
"I didn't like the way she spoke to you.. and how you reacted. I'm being silly, l shouldn't be upset."
"What, with the waitress?"
"Yeah...this was supposed to be a nice dinner and I'm being stupid"
"Your feelings are valid babe. Are you a bit jealous perhaps? " I like it when you act that way," he says, slightly smirking and kissing your neck.
You close your eyes and lean your head back, feeling his lips on your skin. You turn your head so that your lips reach his. Slightly pulling on his piercings with your teeth. He let's out a slight groan and grabs on to your boobs. Squeezing them ever so Slightly and pinching your nipples. He turns your round.
"Trust me, u don't have to worry about her. These things are funny to me baby. I want you, and you only... I want you right now."
"Now?"
"Now."
He pulls your dress down, exposing your breasts. He leans down and puts one of your boobs in his mouth and messages the other one. You let out a soft moan. You grab onto his hair. He stares at you. You took this as a chance to look at his sweet, needy eyes.
He then leans in to you and gives you a kiss.
"I...I can't wait. I need you. Please?"
"Really?"
"Yes.."
"Okay"
He turns you around and starts kissing your neck and shoulders as he pulls your panties down. You can feel him slowly grinding himself onto your ass.
He leans his arm forward and starts to message your breasts. With the other hand, he starts taking off his pants.
You then feel his warmth touching you. You can barely wait. He starts to rub the head up and down on your clit. His head is now so close to your ear.
He starts to put it in. Very slowly. You let out a moan...okay a couple of moans. He does aswell. You feel his breath on your neck. He grabs onto your hips and starts to trust into you. He starts if slow until he teaches a rhythm.
At this point, you're a moaning mess. The fact that this is a bit risky. You like it though. Something about it excites you.
"Oh my God, you feel so good baby" he says going faster.
"Mmh you too"
"Look up"
You look up to see yourself in the mirror. You've never experienced something like this before. At first you were a bit hesitant but you got used to it quickly. Seeing Jungkook fucking you was so hot.
"Ah..Jungkook, I'm going to cum"
"Yeah? Me too baby"
He goes harder, faster, grabbing onto your hips like there's no tomorrow. Smacking skin to skin, you both let out a final moan reaching your orgasms. Shaking and trembling against each other. Slowly grinding every last drop out.
You feel his lips kiss o to yours. It's a bit painful.
"Ouch!, Jungkook...what-"
"Just a little something to show the waitress who you belong to and that she has no chance. Cus I have the most perfect woman here by my side, and she is ALL MINE"
He pulls out and you turn around. A little make-out session never hurt anyone.
"Comon, that was great, but I'm starving," he chuckles.
"Okay, okay, me too, actually," you respond.
..."Jungkook?"
"Yes?"
"I love you"
"I love you too"
You both put on your clothes and head out hand in hand, shoving it in the waitresses face.
Let's just say, she wasn't very holly jolly the rest of night.
(How the interactions went is up to you)
You both enjoyed the rest of the night.
{Ola, you horny babes. Thank you for being so patient with me and for the love I received on my last smutt. It may not be much, but it means the world to me.
I try to make them quite short and to get almost straight to the point, yet the back story is everything so I'll need to experiment with that more often
Anyways yeah, I'd love to get some... recommendations, if you have any fantasies let me know and we can work together â€ïž.
Anyways, love yall. I'll do my best to make a lot more slutty stories cus yall love it}

"Commander Cody."
"Ah, your majesty! What a pleasant surprise. To what do I owe this exquisite pleasure?"
"Sir, you've been hanging around your General too much."
"Hah. You aren't the first to say that. Anyway. What can I do for you?"
"The Sergeant told me about your concern the other day."
"Did he now?"
"He did. He had to check in with me, as this whole rumor run experiment was my idea."
"Go on."
"Iâve been having trouble being⊠approached by troopers on and off duty. I heard the âwhore of 99â rumor, probably started out of spite, and decided to use it to my advantage. The boys have been generous enough to help me out - and it's had pretty remarkable results."
"Hmph. Interesting approach."
"So. If you hear anyone getting too worried about this, I would appreciate you sharing that Iâve spoken with you, and thereâs no real cause for concern. Rumors are just rumors, of course. Just, well, if you could keep it on a need-to-know basis? We wouldnât want our ruse to be ruined."
"Of course not. Understood. Iâll make sure to pass that onto anyone I deem necessary."
"Thank you, Commander."
"Are you still aboard the Captivator?"
"Yes sir. Our inoculations have pushed off our mission a bit further than intended, but Iâm sure weâll find a way to fill the time."
"Iâm sure you will. Take care of them, trooper."
"Always, Commander."
The com beeps as the transmission ends. Commander Cody turns to the companion waiting out of sight, stretching his arms before placing his hands on the back of his head.
"There you go, vod, nothing to worry about - she's a grown woman who knows what sheâs doing."
Rex steps forward, letting out the breath he was holding in.
"Thatâs⊠a relief," he says, rubbing the back of his head. "When I first heard that this existed⊠I almost lost it. I appreciate you checking on it for me.â
Cody levels a smirk at his brother. âStill not sure why you couldnât check yourself.â
Rex seems to answer without thinking, staring off while continuing to rub the back of his neck. âI didnât want her to think that I believed it for a second. Couldnât stand if she thought I was judging herâŠâ he seems to realize what heâs said and glances over at Cody, standing up a bit straighter.
âIâll⊠Iâll tell the boys - the ones who know her anyway. Tell them to hold fast to it." He lets his hands fall to his side and turns to the door. His voice hardens. "Though - I won't stop them punching anyone who... calls her anything." He turns back towards the Commander as the door swooshes open. "Thanks, Cody."
Cody nods as he departs, smirking to himself. Old boy had it bad for this mesh'la- probably didn't realize HOW bad, but everyone else did. He would feel bad for him, if he didn't know for certain Rex'd chosen it himself.
He turned his chair back to look at the quiet com sitting in front of him. Just a rumor, huh? He grinned, playing over the conversation again a few times to his satisfaction.
Cody knew about rumors. He had heard quite a few - Wolffe and that bartender from 79s, General Skywalker and that Senator from Naboo, Bly and his General, Cody and his general... there were plenty out there to choose from, each one a bit more ridiculous than the last.
Cody chuckled to himself as he leaned back in his seat, gazing up at the bulkhead.
The best part about any collective batch of rumors?
Well, in the end, some of them always turned out to be true.

My forever ghost
@locklyle-week
Prompt - Firsts
This was ridiculous!!!
She fought ghosts for a living, she'd jumped into the Thames, out of a burning building, been through the other side, twice!
Why did this feel so fucking scary when she'd done all that.
It's just Lockwood, she'd chided herself, not a Changer, it's not life and death.Â
Shit, why did it feel like it was then!
Her heart strained in her chest like it would literally burst free any second.
She still stood there, her hand on the door handle. "Turn it!" She told herself. "Just like a haunted house, you don't linger or the fear gets you."
OK, a ghost, she could imagine he was a ghost that needed containing. No fear, get in, get the job done, straight to the source.
Ghost, he's a ghost, contain the source, be quick.
She still stood there, shaking slightly. Trouble was, she'd never done this before. She'd never told ANYONE this. None of her family had ever said it to her growing up so she'd never even said it as a child.
She'd not even said it to Norrie, whom she thought might be the only other person in this world she really had loved. Albeit in a different way.
It's just Lockwood, she said again. Ugh she was going round in circles in her own head stood out here.
She fingered the necklace around her neck trying to gather courage. She was completely sure how she felt, the fear was all about how HE felt. And she was pretty sure about that too after the past few months they'd been dating.
She smiled to herself, actually dating! It had been like a dream, dinners, movies, walks in the park, cuddles and kisses on the sofa. Her heart sang whenever he touched her and they couldn't get enough of each other's company.
She wanted to tell him. She wanted him to know how fully he had her. More than that she wanted to hear him say it to her.
Her hand loosened on the door handle. What if he didn't, what if he wasn't quite in it like she was. What if she said it and he didn't. What if she said it and he freaked out, panicked, backed off, called it off!!
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. She shook her head, she'd let the fear get in.
Ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, she chanted to herself.Â
She wanted him to know, she didn't think he'd leave her, she had a feeling deep down that he was in as deep as she was. Trust it, she wanted to trust it, to trust him.
She gripped the handle again.
He's a ghost, she said again. Get in, get it done quick, don't let fear set in.
She wrenched the handle, and, with a force that she really hadn't meant, burst the door open, so hard that it banged on the bookcase behind it.Â
Lockwood lurched to his feet, his book launching across the room as he went straight to a defensive fighting pose.
Lucy just stared in shock with her mouth open. She couldn't believe she'd done that!!
"Lucy?" Lockwood panted as the shock subsided. "What, what's wrong?!"
"You're a ghost!" She blurted, shock and tension and bewilderment blurting out the last thought she'd had coming through the door.
"What?!" Lockwood looked thoroughly baffled and was starting to get that worried frown on his face. He straightened and moved quickly to her. "Luce, what's wrong, I'm not a ghost, I'm right here."
He put a hand on her cheek and his eyes searched her face to try and puzzle out what was going on.
Her eyes prickled with tears. Oh fuck she'd messed it up. She couldn't say it now!
"No, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that you're a ghost, I'm sorry, it's not what I wanted to say."
He smiled at her in a way that showed how endearing he found her little mad moments. He put his other hand to the back of her neck and rested his forehead on hers, he made a quiet shushing noise to try and calm her. When her breath had slowed he lifted his head and gazed into her eyes.
"What did you want to say, my love?"
Her breath caught. He'd never called her that before. It wasn't the same as saying IT but it fed a tendril of hope back through her embarrassment and fear.
"Yes," she breathed. "That's what I wanted to say."
He pulled back a little and gave her a quirky smile. "Sorry Luce, I don't quite follow."
" Love." She breathed, almost in a whisper. "I love you."
She felt like her heart stopped then, time froze and the words hung in the air between them. There was no breath in her lungs and she couldn't breathe in. It was painful, she needed to breathe but she couldn't. She was pinned by his eyes, desperately watching them for some sign of his response.
He blinked and his eyes went as wide as she'd ever seen them. His face seemed to drain of what little colour it had and he honestly did almost resemble a ghost as the pale lights of the library glittered on him.
Then time seemed to rush back in with a whoomph of air as she breathed in. And it suddenly seemed like his eyes melted. A smile slowly, so slowly, stole across his face, gentle and serene at first, then replaced by a smirk and that infuriating sparkle in his eyes that she knew meant he'd just thought of some way to tease her.
"Well yes," he said. "I can see how those two statements are easy to mix up." He grinned at her. "Very similar."
He said this while nodding slightly as if in agreement with himself.
Her mouth hung open and then she slapped his arm and smiled herself at the absurdity of what she'd just done.
He took her hands in his and smiled again. Her face felt like fire and she thought her cheeks must nearly be the same shade as her hair.
He hadn't freaked out, or backed away. The fear ebbed out of her slowly and it felt like her body was slowly regaining warmth after being in a spectral freeze. She shook her head slightly, laughing.
He breathed deeply then, a slightly shaky breath that had her pausing again to look at him. He smiled wider and moved a hand back to her face.
"I love you, Lucy Carlyle. I've loved you for quite some time."
Tears rushed to her eyes and a sob half broke from her. He smiled again and then his lips were on hers.
She melted into him as if he was a part of her own soul. Home, that's what he was, her home, her Lockwood, her love, and no more fear.

Stare Apparel || Mini-Drabble
Fandom: Ace Attorney  Wordcount: 947 Warnings: None Summary: first part requested by @legolasgoldy, second one added by me. People be peeking at their love interests in pretty outfits, but their idea of what makes a pretty outfit is a little different
----------------------------------------------
She had brought a bag with her to work, because it was much easier to just change at work than go home, change and then go out to where she needed to be.
It was honestly just to go to an opening in the art museum, by herself, but she wanted to feel pretty. So she came back out to where the administrative workers were, doing a little spin in the red swing dress she had gotten for the occasion.
"So, what do you think?" she asked.
"Oh, that's so pretty!" Nevada responded enthusiastically
They chatted among themselves about their plans for the weekend, as a little further from them Simon stood with his back planted against a nearby wall. He had been listening to Klavier explain something about a current case when the movement of red fabric caught the corner of his eye. That was a lovely dress.
"Mh, I did not take Light-san for one who enjoys dresses, let alone of the swing dress variety. Did you, Gavin-san?"
When he didn't get a reaction, he looked over at Klavier, who had seemingly frozen in place, his gaze locked straight on Mary. Simon swore he could almost see the cogs in his brain completely stopping and crashing.
"Gavin-san?"
He shifted his weight slightly, moving to wave his hand in front of the other prosecutor. He resorted to snapping his fingers in front of him, and was taken a little bit aback when even that didn't seem to snap the other out of it. Wow, really? Well, if that was the case..
He made his hand sharply connect with the back of Klavier's head, and that finally seemed to harshly snap him back into reality.
"Ow! What?!"
"Were you not taught any kind of manners? Staring like that is hardly honorable," Simon huffed, somewhat smug that he had seemed to hard reboot Klavier back into functioning.
"I wasn't staring!" Klavier snapped back, rubbing the tender spot on his head- Okay, it wasn't that sore or tender, but if anyone asked him he would definitely claim that it was.
"Mh. Sure," Simon replied, at this point no longer believing those claims from Klavier. If he wanted to be in denial about it, then so be it. As long as he just behaved like he wasn't raised in a damn barn.
Mary took a quick peek at her phone, realizing the time.
"I've got to go now, so I still have plenty of time to look around there later, see ya!" she said happily, quickly running off as Nevada yelled their goodbyes back in loud enthusiasm, and passing straight by the two prosecutors.
Simon huffed, not even having to look to know that Klavier was following her movement every step of the way. Oh, this was getting ridiculous. He gave a whistle, causing the hawk perched on his shoulder to fly over and right up into Klavier's face.
âVerdammt nochmal!â was the panicked and irritated response from the blonde prosecutor.
"If no one taught you any manners, I will. Stop staring."
"I wasn't!"
-
Klavier stretched for a moment, looking at his closet to try and figure out what to wear this time. It was the weekend, he knew Mary would be coming over in an hour or so to check on him, and honestly, he wanted to wear something other than the hoodie and sweatpants he had practically been living in.
Picking a pair of pants was difficult enough, with several options being flung around the room with reckless abandon until finally after forty five minutes he decided on some comfortable, slightly loose fitting jeans. He sighed and decided the rest of his energy was probably better spend on brushing his teeth than trying to pick out another shirt than the black V-neck shirt he had on as some glorified pajama top.
He shook his hair out, brushed his teeth, brushed his hair. He tried to put it in his usual style, but gave up about halfway through and shook it back out to brush it again. Untied hair it was then. While still in the process of brushing his hair, he heard the door to his apartment unlock and Mary call in that she had arrived, followed by the happy chirp of her little robin.
He trusted her enough to have a key to his place.
He popped out into the living room, only to be greeted by Grayson, who flew around him singing a merry little tune.
"Yeah, yeah, you're very cute and very vocal, I know," he laughed, sticking his hand out for the bird to land and perch on.
"He likes you," Mary said, walking into the living room herself and setting down two breakfast plates on the table. She looked him over as he just gently petted the little bird.
She couldn't recall the last time she saw him so casually dressed, in just a shirt that dipped down far enough to show his collarbones and a small part of his chest and some nice looking jeans, with his hair brushed and allowed to fall down freely.
For someone who's style was usually either a lot more extravagant in a rockstar kind of way, or merged with business attire... somehow this felt far more showing than anything he normally wore.
She felt a blush creep onto her face, forcing herself to look away at something that was broadcasting on the tv.
Staring is impolite, after all.
Still, she couldnât help peeking from the corners of her eyes, quietly stealing glances that way until he actually caught her looking and she quickly looked away.
â⊠Are you alright?â
âIâm⊠fine. Just.. eat something, okay?â

pairing- jake 'hangman' seresin x female!reader x bradley 'rooster' bradshaw (no use of y/n)
synopsis-
âYou know, on account of your whole aggressively heterosexual, toxically masculine, 'I'm Godâs gift to women' thing.â
Only Hangman is shameless enough to be offended at something so obvious. âIâm not aggressively heterosexual.â
warnings- 18+ minors DNI, (& glen don't read this shit please i'm embarrassed), allusions to previous threesome (m/f/f), voyeurism, implied threesome (f/m/m), public teasing, you prob shouldn't fuck in cars while they're moving bc seat belts/safety but this is self indulgent so let me live, fingering, edging, crying, praise kink, oral (f receiving), soft dom bradley, not so soft (but not really mean) jake, light dumbification/ degradation/ something along those lines, brat tamer boys, established rooster x reader relationship
length- 3.7k idk why my pwp is like this god help me when i finish something that's more than banter & smut again it'll be a billion words
an- I WAS working on something that didn't have smut but then miles posted that fucking picture- blame him. so here we go again...I don't...know what this is and i actually kind of hate it but i need it out of my brain. I'm sure rooster x hangman x reader has been done to death but I made an allusion to it in up to no good and well. yeah. so technically this is a sequel to that but you don't need to read that first because any illusion of plot in this is just a means for smut. *hides and blushes like a slut*
I want to say the entire premise of this is crack but my guy friends have convos like this at the bar all the time so who knows. I mean it's still ridiculous but...idk also the working title of this was bob fucks even though he's not even it and I thought that was amusing
âKnockout, five oâclock,â Payback mutters, looking behind you and Jake. âLooks like sheâs got her sights set on you, Seresin.â
Jake manages a quick look over his shoulder, smirking when he turns back around because she is, in fact, gorgeous and beelining straight for his side of the table.
He rolls his shoulders back and winks at the group. You make a fake gagging noise purely out of reflex and nothing else, you swear, contemplating going up to the bar for another drink just so you donât have to bear witness to this. Youâre about to get up when you catch a very feminine hand out of the corner of your eye, going to tap you lightly on the shoulder.
âHey,â the girl says, sidling up to you and immediately turning her back to Jake. âWhereâs Bradley?â
Oh.
âStill on base,â you reply, quickly smiling in recognition. âItâs good to see you, Ash, you look good.â
âIâll say,â Ashley answers, eyeing you up and down. She raises an eyebrow when her gaze gets to the hem of your sundress thatâs resting a little high on your thigh. âIâm in town for a few days, come find me later if he makes it up here tonight.â
You duck your head, fighting the blush rising up your neck. âMaybe, Iâll let you know.â
âPlease do.â Ashley winks, running her hand down your arm to the inside of your wrist, just this side of too familiar. She gives you a quick squeeze with delicate fingers and you hope no one notices the goosebumps raising on your arms before she turns on her heel to disappear back into the crowd.
You stare decidedly at your beer after Ashley saunters away, feeling everyoneâs eyes on you and wanting to avoid this conversation as long as possible.
When you finally look up Phoenix is clearly fighting back a giggle, but her eyes are directed to the right of you, at Hangman.
âWhat the fuck was that?â He finally croaks after a few beats of awkward silence, mouth dry.
Phoenix reaches over to smack him upside the head. âYou canât really be this stupid.â
Jake is pretty sure he isnât but heâs also kind of thinks he might be having a stroke.
âAlways thought you guys were so boring,â he says dumbly, mouth agape.
Phoenix sighs, like she canât comprehend how she ended up surrounded by so little intelligence, leaning over again to close Jakeâs jaw. âDonât mind him, up until two minutes ago he thought you and Rooster only banged in missionary.â
You blink.
You canât believe that just came out of her mouth so casually.
Youâre going to kill Rooster for not being here to endure this with you.
âWhyâŠhave you been speculating about how Rooster and I fuck?â You ask finally, slowly, pretty sure you donât want to know the answer. Lack of self-preservation makes you ask anyways.
âWell, there had to be some sort of explanation for why itâs so easy for you to rile him up,â Jake declares, voice going a little high.
Huh.
Terrible logic but you suppose that couldâve been worse.
Still. This is a discussion you have negative interest in having. In public. With all your friends right here. With Hangman, of all people.
âCan we talk about something else? Like, literally anything else?â You don't want to beg, but this entire conversation is making your leg twitch.
âNope,â Payback answers immediately. âWe need more information.â
âWe have questions,â Fanboy concurs.
You want to crawl under the table.
âI have questions too,â you shoot back instead, figuring you'll try going on the offensive. âWhy do you guys want to know about our sex life? Because Iâve heard way too much from your girlfriends and I now have to live with that horrifying knowledge for the rest of my life. Why would you want those details voluntarily?â
Phoenix hums in agreement and youâre overwhelmed with the urge to hug her.
âIs that right, sweets?â Jake grins, clearly having recovered somewhat.
âNot you, Jake," you shoot back. "Thank God you havenât dated anyone long enough for me to become friends with her.â
You studiously do not mention that heâs probably the only one you might welcome salacious details about.
âBecause the rest of us arenât having threesomes,â Payback adds, ignoring the blonde. âWeâre jealous.â
You cough, averting eye contact. âWell, some of you are.â
Theyâre all staring at you again and you shrug. âLook, Bob fucks, not my fault the rest of you donât.â
Jake has hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete on his temporary recovery, chunked the laptop that operates his brain out the window, and is now definitely having a stroke.
âYouâŠand Bob?â
You scrub your hand across your face, not sure how much more of this high-pitched Hangman you can handle tonight. Itâs making you edgy. âNot with me. Keep it together, pretty boy.â
Normally, youâd rejoice in the slight pink tinge gracing Jakeâs cheekbones when you call him pretty boy, in one upping Hangman for a second, even if youâre the only one that notices. Tonight, it only scatters anxiety through your bloodstream.
At this point you decide to just get up and leave the table. Itâs probably for the best.
âAre you gonna make it?â Phoenix asks Jake after youâve made your way to the bar.
âNo,â he answers petulantly.
âąâąâą
Hangman looks decidedly more like his usual self lounging across from you and Rooster in the booth you've taken to hiding in and you're silently thanking the whiskey he's switched to for it.
He's a pain in the ass, sure, but when he's not bantering with you, you're not even sure what to do with him. Shrill is not a word you thought you'd ever have to use to describe him, you're practically trembling at the memory of it.
All that means you're smiling, a little wicked, while you lean into the warmth of Roosterâs body. âDonât worry, Hang, no one expects you to have a threesome unless itâs with two other girls.â
His eyes nearly bulge out of his head and you bite back a snicker. Direct hit. âWhat the hell is that supposed to mean?â
When youâre pretty sure youâre not going to laugh directly in his face, you wave your hand dismissively, hoping the wild hand gesture captures Jakeâs whole air. âYou know, on account of your whole aggressively heterosexual, toxically masculine, âIâm Godâs gift to womenâ thing.â
Only Hangman is shameless enough to be offended at something so obvious. âIâm not aggressively heterosexual.â
âTwenty bucks your tongue is down some poor girls throat by the end of the night.â
âThatâs called having game,â he retorts. âIâll have you know Iâm a very enlightened man. Good to know you pay so much attention to my conquests though, sweets.â
He winks and you immediately wonder why you were grateful for his mood shift.
âConquests, seriously?â You fight back a gag. âThatâs exactly what Iâm talking about, Jake.â
You hope the use of his real name emphasizes your disappointment in him.
Roosterâs gaze is flitting back and forth between you two like heâs watching a tennis match, expression calculating. âI donât know that I feel like calling Ashley tonight.â
Both of your mouths snap shut when you register what he just said.
Where did that come from?
âWell, that figures, little bird. Iâm surprised you knew what to do with both of them the first time around.â Hangman grins around his glass before taking another sip of whiskey.
Rooster rolls his eyes, but otherwise waves off the dig. âI just think thereâs something else princess might enjoy a little more.â
You immediately feel heat rising to your cheeks. That explains his abrupt timing.
âRooster,â you manage to grit out, warning in your tone as you tighten your fingers on his thigh.
He ignores you, because he knows you. Knows what you secretly want, what youâre too embarrassed to say out loud, too proud to admit. If you weren't so busy being uncomfortable you'd have warmth spreading through your chest at the knowledge that he just wants to take care of you, give you what you need.
Rooster runs his hand up your bare thigh, playing with the hem of your dress, and it sends a jolt of electricity through you before immediately blowing a fuse in your willpower.
âCome on, baby," he murmurs. "Donât you want to tell him what we talked about the other day? After the beach?â
Crimson is painting itself across your cheekbones, youâre sure of it.
Recognition crosses Hangmanâs face and he clears his throat, which is suddenly dry.
âTalk about me a lot while youâre fucking your girl, Bradshaw?â He taunts, but thereâs something thick in his voice, something rapidly glazing over his bright eyes.
âRooster,â you say again, but this time it comes out a little whinier, a little more abashed.
âBaby, itâs okay,â Rooster soothes you, gentle and doting, because he always knows how to make you melt like butter. âI see how he looks at you.â
Hangman fiddles with the rim of his rocks glass, but he doesnât deny it.
If you were more present in this moment, if you werenât so distracted by the need suddenly, insistently thrumming through your body, by Roosterâs hand burning on your thigh; you might be amused at this role reversal, Rooster calm, collected and bordering on cocky, while Hangman shifts across from you, curiosity making him jumpy in his seat.
Roosterâs mustache tickles your cheek as he runs his mouth across you, mouth moving to latch onto the sensitive spot below your ear. Your lips part of their own accord as you feel him move his hand under the skirt of your dress, brushing his knuckles against where youâre already soaking through your panties.
Meeting the green eyes across from you feels hot like burning and you tuck your face into Roosterâs neck to hide from it, biting your lip to keep from letting out the truly obscene noise thatâs bubbling in your chest. âCan we please go home, babe?â
He chuckles, hooking a finger under your chin so youâre forced to meet his gaze, tilting his head in the direction of the man across from you. âThat depends. Are you gonna be a good girl for him, baby?â
Well, Rooster certainly isn't waiting patiently on his perch tonight then, is he?
Your breath hitches, everything in your body going still for a moment when you hear him, before words come tumbling out of your mouth.
âYes, yes, yes, I promise, Bradley, please,â you whine softly, fingers gripping the edge of his open shirt, looking for something, anything to keep you grounded.
âJesus,â you hear faintly from the other side of the table. When you look up you catch Jakeâs eyes, pupils blown so wide theyâre practically black.
Your boyfriendâs lips twitch upwards, but heâs not looking at you. Instead, heâs turned towards the blonde, while his fingers continue running up and down your clothed slit. âGorgeous like this, isnât she?â
âChrist, Bradshaw. Understatement of the year. What a nice surprise this is.â
âOnly gets better the more you tease her,â he promises.
âIâm right here,â you protest, narrowing your eyes at the two men. Youâre aiming for annoyed but youâre pretty sure the words come out petulant instead. If you were standing you might even stomp your foot.
âIâm so sorry, baby. Are you feeling a little ignored?â Bradley coos with a quick peck to your cheek, hint of condescension in his tone.
Jake shoots you a wicked grin, mischief lighting up his face. âShouldâve known youâd be a fuckinâ brat.â
âBratty girls donât deserve to get what they want, do they?â Bradley asks Jake, but his eyes are on you.
You pout, looking up at him and trying to look as cute as possible, hoping an innocent expression might get you out of this little predicament.
It usually works on Bradley, but Jake just snickers from his side of the booth.
âNo, they donât. Not sure they deserve to wear panties either.â
âThe man makes a good point,â Bradley agrees, tearing his attention from your imploring eyes.
Distantly, youâre glad heâs angled his body to block you from the rest of the bar, because Bradley is working baby blue lace down your hips, lifting you slightly in the process, before settling you back down with your feet in Jakeâs lap under the table.
Jake sends a cheeky wink your direction as his hand runs up the inside of your leg, squeezing your calf, then thigh in a way that could really only be described as affectionate, which sends shivers down your body right to your core. He pulls your panties the rest of the way down, letting you catch a glimpse of his fingers running over them before he puts them in his pocket.
âDrenched those, didnât you darlinâ?â He drawls, as he stares you dead in the eyes and licks your slick from his fingers.
Your mouth drops open of its own accord and before you even have a chance to recover you feel fingers pressing against your bundle of nerves. Thankfully, Bradley kisses you a moment later, swallowing the moan that leaves your lips. âShh, we donât want everyone to hear, do we?â
âFuck, sheâd probably like that, wouldn't she?â
You blink slowly, eyes struggling to focus as they move between the two men.
Bradley smirks. âPoor baby, lost your words already?â
Your brain has been wiped clean so you can only mewl quietly in response.
âThink she might be obedient enough to go, now,â Jake offers.
Youâre pretty sure you look drunk as you stumble outside, Bradley supporting you with an arm around your waist, nearly carrying you out.
When you reach the car, he turns to deposit you into the other man's arms. âJust donât let her come till we get home, yeah?â
Jake grins. âSure thing, Bradshaw.â
The moment youâre in the back of the Bronco Jake is all over you, pulling you in for a rough kiss.
He manhandles you onto his lap, pulling your back against his front as his hand slides up to your jaw, forcing your attention to Bradley in the driverâs seat.
You meet Bradleyâs stare in the rearview mirror, and he grins, clearly enjoying how debauched you look in Jakeâs lap, as much as he can while driving, anyways. Your mouth parts as Jake trails his down the side of your neck, across your shoulder, leaving red bite marks as he goes.
Youâre thinking about how powerful Jake looks behind you, completely unbothered by your boyfriendâs eyes constantly darting from the road to the mirror to watch you both, when his hand slides underneath your dress, bunching it up and out of his way, leaving you bare against his pants.
âFuck,â Jake groans, fingers flicking expertly at your entrance. âYouâre so fucking wet, sweetheart.â
You canât help but blush, head ducking down as you focus on the wispy material of your dress falling haphazardly off your chest, breaking your gaze from the front of the car.
âJake,â you whimper, grinding back onto his lap.
He clucks a noise of disapproval and your stomach rolls unpleasantly at the idea that youâve disappointed him already. âLet him watch your pretty mouth moan my name, sugar.â
You snap your head back up at his words, rushing to comply, rushing to be good, only to meet cheeky, dark eyes in the mirror. Your mouth drops open as Jake eases a finger into you, gaze fixed on Bradley as heat washes over you.
Jake adds another finger, and then twists, while his thumb rubs insistent figure eights along your aching clit. If you had any sense, you might be bashful at how your legs are already shaking where theyâre bracketed around his.
You vaguely remember Bradleyâs instructions before getting in the car, but you canât help the pleading falling from your lips anyways.
âWanna come, Jake, please, please, need it,â you whine, squirming in his lap, on his fingers, against the bruising hold his other hand has on your hip. You canât get comfortable, canât stop moving, itâs not enough, you need more.
He chuckles, the sound mocking, bordering on mean, and you canât help but shudder at the way it shoots heat right through you.
âI could let you come all over my fingers,â he muses languidly, pressing slow circles on your clit, like you have all the time in the world in the back of Bradleyâs bronco. The yes, please, is on the tip of your tongue when he continues, words hot in your ear. âOr I could edge you with my mouth until you cry.â
You and Bradley suck in simultaneous sharp breaths at Jakeâs words and you can practically feel the amusement radiating from him.
âSweetheart, you gonna tell me what you want?â
Youâre biting your lip to keep the obscene noises threatening to tear from you muffled, teeth so tight on your swollen lip youâre surprised you havenât drawn blood.
His fingers still after a few torturous seconds of you attempting to remember how to make decisions. You could do that, at one point in your life, you think.
âAsked you a question.â
Frustrated, your eyebrows knit together as you try to form words. âJake.â
He grazes his teeth across your neck, and you can feel that infamous smirk against your skin. âAs pretty as you sound saying it, my name is not the answer.â
âIâŠfuck, Jake, I donâtââ you mewl brokenly, hands going to his arms, pushing, gripping, hoping you can get him to move again, give you what you need.
âSeem to remember you promising youâd be good for me.â Jake continues, as if you havenât spoken at all and thereâs a steely edge in his tone that sends another wave of heat straight to your core.
âSorry, sorry, Jake please, sorry, can be, I swear,â you babble. Your voice sounds foreign to you, high and whiny like it might crack and break if you donât get his approval.
âBe a good girl and tell me what you want, then.â
Youâre flushing with embarrassment at this, you know what you want, but it doesnât make your cheeks flame any less to have to admit it. âYour mouth, please, Jake need your mouth on meâŠâ
âGood choice, darlinâ,â he murmurs, lifting you up and laying you down on your back as he bends to put your legs over his shoulders, kneeling impossibly in the backseat. âKnew a slutty little thing like you wouldnât be satisfied until you were wrecked.â
He must be really flexible, you think helplessly, before his tongue licks a stripe up your slit and drives every other remaining thought from your body.
He works those thick fingers into you again, curling them at the same time he wraps his lips around your clit and sucks.
Your back arches involuntarily, stars suddenly dancing across your vision. Worked up as you are he brings you to the edge quickly, and you stupidly think he might actually let you go over.
Just as your whines are hitting their crescendo, just when youâre so close you can practically taste itâhe pulls back, mouth suddenly moving down your hip, away from where you want him, fingers retreating to leave you clenching around nothing. The noise you make in response is obscenely close to a wail, bringing tears to your eyes.
You blink them back hard, determined not to let Jake win so quickly.
He nips the inside of your thigh, making you spasm in surprise. As soon as youâve come down from the sheer disappointment and not a second later, heâs back on you, lips and fingers working determinedly to wind you up again.
Jake continues his little routine, one, two, three more times until youâre sobbing, unable to hold the tears back as they leak from the corners of your eyes. Your hands are tight in his hair, trying to keep his mouth on you, terrified of him stopping and leaving you frustrated and aching again.
Hazily, youâre aware that the car isnât moving anymore, that if you turn your head a little to the left you can see Bradley biting his lips and white knuckling the steering wheel, eyes fixed on you in the mirror still. That thereâs nonsense pouring from your mouth in between the cries, as you writhe against Jakeâs face, I need, Jake please, please, I canât, Jakejakejake, Iâ
âYou can let go for him, baby.â You hear Bradleyâs deep voice cutting through the fog in your mind.
His words tingle across your skin, at the tip of every nerve ending, as your muscles start contracting, giving in to what youâve been begging for since you got in the car. It crashes into you, an avalanche rumbling through your body, back arching in a moment of pure perfection. And all thatâs left is a glowing, fuzzy feeling, warmth spreading through your chest like you just finished a shot of whiskey.
âJesus,â Jake whispers as you come down, mouth trailing softly up your stomach, your chest and across your jaw, to brush your lips. âFuck, sweetheart, such a good girl for me.â His words are muffled as you taste the tang of yourself on his mouth and wrecked as you are you still preen at his praise.
The driverâs side door opens and shuts with a definitive thud, pulling you and Jake out of your stupor. He gives you one last peck before dragging your dress back down, although you suffer from no misconceptions that itâll help you look any less debauched.
You let yourself be tugged out of the car and into Jakeâs arms, limbs leaden and slow on your way to your front door as your brain catches up with your body. You list against him, eyes fluttering closed as Bradley digs around for his keys. Once he opens the door he turns to you, smirking at the dazed expression washed over your features, the lazy blinks as you try to focus your eyes.
âAw, baby, you canât be tired already,â Bradley coos, reaching up to hold your face and affectionately running his thumbs over your cheekbones, wiping away any errant tears. âWeâre just getting started.â

Possessive Lenny?
These Show Business parties are always pretty much the same, but Susie likes her to go and make nice now that she's on Gordon's show. Make some friends who aren't messy comedians who just want to be friends. That kind of thing. So she goes, she makes nice, she has a few drinks, and then she gets to go home at the end of the night.
And it's fine, Midge thinks. She likes parties, though she doesn't necessarily enjoy just standing around and chatting. If she can be helpful in some way, she'd rather do that. Either by entertaining people, or by lending a hand in the kitchen, refilling people's drinks.
But tonight, there is a thoroughly charming and distracting Broadway actor who has decided he likes keeping her attention. He's tall, and muscular - completely gentile and totally out of the question of course - but the attention is nice. His eyes are a startling shade of green, and when he smiles, his eyes crinkle in an entirely too-sexy way. He's got freckles, too. Cute ones, and very briefly, Midge wonders where else he might have freckles.
And he's not even talking about himself! A deeply attractive man who is talking about - of all things - the set he saw Don Rickles do recently?
Maybe his family is really Jewish and they converted when they arrived in America...
"There you are!"
The actor she's talking to - Jared? Jason? - stops, and turns, his whole face lighting up. "Lenny Bruce! Oh my god, this is amazing! I'm an enormous fan."
Lenny steps over, cigarette between his fingers as he looks the guy in the face (they're around the same height, though Lenny is noticeably slighter in build) and nods. "Well, thank you, I very much appreciate that." He gives a charming smile and points to Midge. "I've been looking for this one all over the place. We had plans to meet up here, and I am worried that she may have forgotten about me in favor of...well...your whole thing going on."
Jason laughs - clear and perfect. "Oh, I'm sure she could never. But Midge is a charming conversationalist, and we got caught up."
Midge takes a breath and smiles, still staring daggers at Lenny. "Why thank you. I've been having a good time talking to you, too."
"Well, don't me stand in your way," he says good-naturedly, nodding to both Midge and Lenny. "Very lovely talking with you, Midge. Let's catch up again sometime."
"Absolutely," Midge smiles at him. "See you."
She watches him go, takes a deep breath, and then turns to Lenny.
"What. Was that?" she asks.
He just takes a drag off of his cigarette.
"We had plans to meet up, did we?" she says. "Was I around when we made those plans, or did you make them up all by yourself?"
"Oh, please, I was saving you, that guy can't be straight. Or Jewish."
"Sure, Lenny."
They stand there in silence for a long moment and she sips her drink.
"Green is not your color," she tells him finally.
"Hey, I am not-"
"We can't be just friends if you can't handle watching me with other men," Midge snaps quietly. "And you're the one who wanted to keep a safe distance after Carnegie Hall, not me. So what's it gonna be?"
She's expecting him to deflate a little. To relent on something. To say he knows he needs to pull it together. That she's right and it isn't faire to act this way, but he doesn't do any of that.
Lenny sets his jaw, takes her by the fingers and tugs.
"Lenny, what-"
He leads her through the party, nodding to a few people as they go, out onto the terrace of this ridiculous hotel ballroom, before pulling her into a corner where no one can see them.
The kiss is searing, and Midge gasps as she melts against him, clinging to his sui jacket.
"I was an idiot to think I could stay away from you," he mutters against her lips. "I don't want to be just your fucking friend."
He's kissing her again, and she finds her hands sliding up to his neck.
"And I absolutely hate watching you flirt with other men," he tells her. "I hate it. I hate imagining you like this with another man. I'd rather see that guy get pushed off a fucking cliff than think about his hands anywhere near you. I'd rather him be set on fire than have to watch him kiss you."
Midge has to giggle at that, stroking the hair at the nape of his neck.
"No more flirting with other men, please," he sighs, nuzzling in against her neck. "My poor battered heart can't take it, Midge."
"You said you wanted to be friends," she reminds him softly. "I took you at your word."
"I know," he says, standing up straight and gazing down at her. "And if you'd fought me on it I would have been pissed, but who the hell am I kidding? I cannot go back to the way things were."
Midge takes a breath and smiles at him. "Then why don't we ditch this terrible party and go talk over some coffee? Or do you need something stronger after having to watch me talk to Superman in there?"
"Very funny, Mrs. Maisel."
"That's why they pay me the big bucks."

If there was one thing you were certain of, it was this; dating an Avenger wasnât easy.
You were in a relationship with Natasha Romanoff, and have been for the better part of two years now. At first, everything had been absolutely incredible. The redhead would come to your apartment every night, her body entangled with yours beneath your bedsheets. You would wake up to Natasha sleeping soundly beside you, her arms wrapped around your waist as she held you close. Her warm breath would fan against the side of your neck as you took in her features.Â
Natasha would slowly stir awake, her eyes moving side-to-side behind her closed eyelids before fluttering open. She would be met with your wide smile shining down at her, your fingers slowly combing through her tresses. The redhead would pull you down by the neck, placing a tender kiss against your lips.Â
When she pulled back from the kiss, her eyes would travel down to your neck and admire the dark purple marks that were littered across your skin. It was exhilarating to her, knowing that you were hers. Natasha felt a sense of pride and couldnât resist a smirk from taking over her face.Â
You would cook breakfast in the kitchen while Natasha sat on the counter, ranting about the events of the day before. Your laughs filling the space as she mimicked Steve and Tonyâs voices, mocking their ridiculous arguments. Eventually, the redhead would hop off of the counter and come up behind you, her front pressed against your back as she held you by the waist.Â
Once the food was cooked, you would sit on Natashaâs lap at the table, your hands linked behind the back of her neck. She would eat and occasionally feed you, holding the spoon up to your mouth and purposely missing your mouth, effectively getting food on your face. Natasha would laugh as an annoyed look would cross your face, a pout gracing your lips.Â
The Russian would wipe off the food with the pad of her thumb, sucking it off of her digit before kissing your pouty lips. She wouldnât stop kissing you until your pout was replaced with a smile. You were in euphoria each time Natasha would visit, but all good things must come to an end.
A feeling of sadness would wash over you each time she would walk out the door, unsure of when sheâd return. Seeing her leave never got any easier. All you wanted to do was beg her to stay in your arms, but you knew that wasnât an option.Â

Despite the feeling of despair that would creep into your chest, you never complained. You were aware of how selfish it would seem if you were to even so much as bring up the topic of Natasha staying for longer than a night. She was a vital part of the Avengers, a team that saved the world from threats on a daily.Â
You had handled the arbitrariness of Natashaâs profession pretty well and settled for it. Having Natasha in your life occasionally was a lot better than not having her at all. However, there was only so much you could take. And one night, you had finally had enough.Â
âąâ
ââââââââââââââââ â⧠âââââââââââââââââ
âą
For the past six months, you had seen Natasha a total of ten times. It seemed as if she had been taking on more missions that varied in their durations. She was gone for weeks at a time and wouldnât contact you the entire time, unaware of when she was due to return. You would only find out when she was back home when she was already knocking at your front door.Â
To say you missed Natasha would be the understatement of the century; you missed her like fucking crazy.
You would spend the weeks she was away, sleeping in bed alone as you clutched her pillow close to your chest. You practically lived in the sweaters she left at your apartment, the faint smell of her perfume lingering on the articles of clothing. The day you realized her scent had faded, you almost burst out into tears.Â
It made you feel disgusted with yourself. You were waiting around like a lost puppy, desperate for Natashaâs return. You couldnât focus at work either. Your thoughts were focused on Natasha.
Will she come home soon? Is she okay? Is the mission sheâs on super dangerous? Is she not replying to your texts because sheâs busy or because she isnât alive to do so? Or what if she had been home and just didnât care to see you? What if she didnât love you anymore?
These questions circulated your mind in each time of Natashaâs absence. You knew that you had to confront her, but didnât know how to go about the situation. What? Are you supposed to go up to her and say âStop saving the world to spend time with meâ? Obviously fucking not.
The more you thought about it, the more ridiculous you felt. Natasha was out risking her life for humanity and here you were, moping over not being able to see her. Pathetic.Â
Regardless of how absurd you thought your concerns were, they didnât stop you from finally confronting your never-present girlfriend.

ââââââââââââââââ â⧠âââââââââââââââââ
âą
You had been sat on the couch when a knock sounded at the door. You immediately sprang up and rushed toward the door, hoping to see the woman thatâs been plaguing your mind. To your surprise, you were met with red locks and green eyes shining with joy.Â
You had to fight the urge to leap into her arms and shower her face with little kisses. Natashaâs happiness turned to confusion when you wordlessly moved to the side, giving her some room to enter. The sound of her heavy combat boots hitting the hardwood floor resounded throughout your apartment.Â
You shut the door slowly, leaning your forehead against it with a sigh. You knew that you wouldnât be able to confront the woman if you laid eyes on her. Natasha had you wrapped around her finger and you couldnât help but feel like she capitalized on your weakness at times.
âY/N? Whatâs wrong, moya lyubov (my love)?â Natashaâs raspy voice met your ears and you let out a shaky breath. âThe fact that you donât know whatâs wrong IS whatâs wrong.â Your voice came out small and you couldnât see it, but Natashaâs eyebrows furrowed in concern.Â
You heard her footsteps approaching you and you quickly turned around, coming face-to-face with your girlfriend, âWhat are you talking about?â Natashaâs hands moved up to cup your cheeks, but you swatted her hands away.Â
âYouâre never here, Natasha. That is what Iâm talking about.â You walked past her and paced around the living room. The redhead was glued to her spot, her eyes following your every move. Your shoulders were tensed, your eyes were fixated on the floor as you walked around. Natasha had never seen you so serious before, and she wouldnât admit it, but she was terrified.
âIâm here whenever I can be. Is that not enough for you?â Your movements came to an abrupt halt and you whipped around to stare at your girlfriend as if she had grown two heads. âNo! It may be enough for you, but it isnât for me! Iâm alone for weeks on end without so much as a fucking text from you!â You raised your voice and Natasha felt irritation arise within her.Â
âI canât stop in the middle of a shootout or an interrogation to message you! Iâm sorry that Iâm away all the time and canât give you details, but itâs my fucking job! You knew what you were getting into when you got involved with me.â Natasha moved until she stood directly in front of you, chest rising and falling quickly as she took shallow breaths. Her eyes were trained on yours with an intimidating glare, but you werenât scared of her.Â
âMy job is a priority.â The redhead gritted out through clenched teeth. You felt your own anger expand at her words. âAnd Iâm not?â You questioned Natasha challengingly and she shook her head with a dark chuckle.Â
âNo. Youâre not.â You felt your heart shatter completely. Her tone was emotionless and she spoke as if she didnât care at all; like you were a stranger.
âMy job comes before anything, including you. I canât let the world fall apart just because youâre a needy bitch that canât spend a fucking minute without me.â
Natasha was relentless and you couldnât handle it. Tears rapidly fell from your eyes as your chest constricted, making it hard to breathe.
People who said that words couldnât physically hurt you; were full of shit. Each word that fell from her lips felt like a stab to the heart. And as everyone knew, Natasha Romanoff was very good with knives.Â
âWhat? Youâre not gonna say anything now? You sure as hell had a lot of shit to talk a minute ago.â
Natashaâs tone was cold and you hated yourself for still trying to find the warmth that you used to soak in, but you couldnât find it. All you were met with was a blistering wind that sent shivers up your spine.Â
You remained silent, focusing on containing the harsh sobs that threatened to wrack your body. Natasha rolled her eyes at you and turned around, heading straight for the door. An alarm sounded in your head as you watched her walk away.Â
âIf you walk out of that door, weâre done.â Your voice cracked slightly as you spoke. Natasha froze, her hand on the doorknob going still. She stayed there for a minute, contemplating her next move. Of course, you didnât think the redhead would actually leave, but she was always full of surprises.
Your eyes widened as she twisted the knob, pulling the door open. âWait! Please donât go. Please donât leave me. Iâm sorry.â Honestly, you didnât really know why you were apologizing. If anything, the roles shouldâve been reversed in this moment, but you were willing to say or do anything if it meant Natasha would stay.
Natasha ignored your pleas and took one step out of the door before you hastily rushed after her. You gripped her wrist for dear life and her head whipped around, a look of annoyance on her face.Â
âLet go of me.â Natasha tore her hand out of your hand easily, considering she was much stronger than you were. You remained in the doorway as you watched the redhead strut down the hall until she reached the staircase. As soon as you lost sight of her, you slammed the door and fell to your knees.Â
You had no intention of destroying your relationship. All you wanted to do was voice your concerns to Natasha. You were expecting endless reassurances as she wrapped her strong arms around your body.
But instead, you were crying on the cold floor of your apartment, her harsh words echoing throughout your mind. Part of you was waiting for her to knock on the door and apologize profusely for leaving, but Natasha was lots of things, and stubborn was one of them.Â
Once Natasha came to a decision, there wasnât much that could change her mind. Thatâs what hurt the most. You were positive that the redhead loved you just as much as you did her. You felt as though nothing could sever the unbreakable connection that brought you two together. The possibility of Natasha willingly leaving you had never crossed your mind. Nothing couldâve ever prepared you for this outcome.
Natasha Romanoff was your everything. Her cocky smirk and infectious laughter were the oxygen that filled your lungs each time you took a breath. Her shiny green eyes and red locks were the chemical reactions of your brain that produced dopamine.Â
Her love coursed through your bloodstream and kept your heart pumping. But now, she was gone. The minute she walked out, the light in your eyes disappeared and your skin slowly turned to dust. Without the woman you loved, you were nothing but a withering corpse going through the decomposition process.

To be a human - Scaramouche x reader - Part 1
Synopsis: You knew committing to a relationship Scaramouche would be no easy task but you loved him dearly and unlike others, you believed he wasn't evil. But as a mortal and the devoted protector of your village you were too much of a good person, too much of a human compared to him and your differences slowly start to show.
Next: Part 2
Type: mostly angst, this part is still light tho
Warnings: none... yet
Length: not as long as it seems. I'll try to write the next chapters as soon as possible
Scaramouche turned his back to the mountains he's been staring at to look at the path leading to Qingce village. The sun shone through the fog above the rice fields, colouring everything in golden light. Trees sighed as the gentle morning breeze caressed them while glaze lilies slowly started to close their blossoms.
The view was absolutely mesmerising but it didn't absorb the exoticly dressed, short man even for a minute.
'Finally' he snorted unpatiently as you appeared out of the fog, walking towards him with a big smile. 'What took you so long?'
'Good morning' you answered in a calm, low-key but still visibly cheerful manner.
He mumbled some words to himself but you didn't even try to understand what he was saying. It was probably for the better anyway.
You were both happy you could finally see each other but Scaramouche would obviously never express such feelings, not even towards you. You didn't care so much about that though since the time you spent with trying to bare with him finally paid off. You could confidently say now that you actually knew him and his difficult personality well.
Yes, the constant need to search for clues that could tell you about his hidden emotions was a little tiering but you could usually put up with it.
You haven't been able to see him in a really long time as well. You were living in a small village in Liuye while Scaramouche was always travelling around Teyvat and could only visit you between two jobs. He wasn't the type to write letters so sometimes even months passed without you hearing anything about him.
He came back to you yesterday agter five weeks, to spend a little time in Qingce, the village you lived in and protected with your biggest gift, a Hydro vision.
'Where do you want to go?'
'Doesn't matter.'
'We could go to the forest! It's really pretty in the morning. And later we could pick some chili. I promised Pops Kai that I would bring some to him.'
He didn't react. You knew he didn't like you - his words - 'being a slave of those people' so he just ignored the fact someone requested something from you again.
'How did your last job go?' You asked as you two were slowly walking below the rice fields, watching the sun come up from behind the mountains.
'Could have been worse' he answered curtly. 'Inazuma is a pain in the neck. And there were some... unfortunate events I do not wish to discuss. But at least now I'm back.'
He looked up to the village and his piercing blue eyes narrowed as he took a glance of the neat but definitely archaic looking houses.
'Even this hick town is better than thet hell hole.'
Your facial expression strained for a moment as you heard him insulting the village which happened to be your favourite place all in Teyvat. You calmed your expressions but couldn't help and sting back a little.
'I thought you liked Inazuma' you retorted in a dry tone. 'It's where you're from after all.'
Scaramouche's face immediately darkened and you instantly realised the big mistake you made.
You knew a little about his origins, just enough to understand why he never told about it to you. Regret appeared in you for mentioning his past. At least Scaramouche didn't scold you for it but the air between you two visibly got heavier.
You continued your walk in silence and you couldn't stop cursing yourself for saying such insensitive things. It took two minutes for you to start bickering - this number made you feel sad and stupid.
But then again - he didn't even realise how hard he insulted your village and even if he did, he probably wouldn't regret it by one bit.
You lifted your chin and looked straight into the distance. You could see the various fatui agents scattered around the village, all standing guard for the sixth harbinger next to you.
You didn't like him being a part of the fatui at all but there wasn't much you could do about it. You only hoped and prayed that he one day would leave them after getting enough of the Tsaritsa and her overwhelming, suffocating power. After all, he only joined them because they 'seemed fun' and so far they were more of an annoyance then an genuine source of amusement for him.
'Unless he likes all the bloody tasks they're handing to him' you thought to yourself and then couldn't help but feel a little sick in the stomach.
You loved the man walking next to you but not every part of his personality. Not that part which screamed evil.
You weren't blinded by love. You knew he was indeed cruel sometimes. The part affecting you, his rudeness, his hatred towards any type of affection didn't concern you, it was actually kind of amusing. You loved to tease him about it and when he had an actual soft moment... it was heaven itself.
But you couldn't help but feel worried for others. What was he actually doing behind your back? Did he ever... kill someone? He seemed to be enjoying ending monsters a little too much. And he was quite open about his feelings towards humans. He hated all of them... you were probably the only exception.
'Say, Scara' you decided to broke the silence. He glanced at you, his face and movements still stiff. 'If there was a job suiting you in Liyue...'
'Stop tryna make me quit the fatui' he cut into your words in a harsh tone. 'It's not going to happen.'
'That's not what I was trying to do. I just... want to see you more often. Even after months I can only get a day or two with you... and we're not even alone.'
'If it's the Tsaritsa's order then I will follow it.' You averted your eyes. Barely a sentence in and you were already dejected by his words. 'Even though... I'd like to see you more too.'
You quickly rose your chin just to catch a glance of him rolling his eyes before he quickly turned his head away.
A wide smile lit up your face and you couldn't help but instantly start to gently tease him.
'Oh my, am I mistaken or is the almighty Balladeer actually admitting his oh-so-ridicoulus wishes to a mortal? Scara, are you okay? Yore getting soft, be careful before you get so weak even a slime could defeat you!'
'Just shut up, okay?' He growled at you but you just happily laughed. He's back. 'I'm gonna take my words back if you only show disrespect at...'
'Sure, sure' you smirked. 'Just admit you have a crush on me, Weeky-mouche!'
'Your nicknames are absolutely ridiculous' he claimed, ignoring the rest of the sentence.
'Oh, so what do you want me to call you then?' The temptation was too strong, you couldn't help but wink at him which made him growl in disgust again. 'Sweetheart, perhaps? Or honey?'
'I swear, you're as annoying as that damn red scum' he snorted, referring to his colleague, Childe.
You wanted to continue teasing him but as you turned right on the path you were walking on, a small shilouette - even smaller than Scaramouche's - appeared in front of you.
'Oh, little Yu!' You gasped, recognising the little 4-years-old girl.
Her dark hair was sparkling from the light of the morning sun and it put a tiny fire into her golden eyes as well. She looked like a magical little creature in the mystical forest, surrounded by old trees and young flowers.
A precious smile lit her face up as she saw you and the little girl reached out with both of her hands.
'Miss Y/n!'
You picked her up in an instant. Your favourite thing in guarding Qingce village was the people that lived in it and Yu always had a special place in your heart.
'Are you picking flowers?' You asked her and gently brushed her hair out of her face. 'For who?'
'Mommy' explained the little girl. 'It's her birthday tomorrow!'
'You're a very kind little lady, Yu' you praised her with a gentle smile. Holding a tiny, adorable creature like her was amongst the best feelings you've experienced, next to being with your lover, Scaramouche.
You didn't realise it was mainly because you were completely touch-starved.
Yu nodded but she didn't look at you. You followed her glance and you realised she was staring at Scaramouche.
The man was standing three feet away from you, with crossed arms and a hostile look on his face.
'Who is he?' Little Yu asked from you, fixing her eyes on the unfriendly expression of Scara's.
'His name is Scaramou... Just call him Scara.'
The man and the girl stared at each other.
'You needn't be afraid of him. He doesn't bite' you said jokingly but the little child's face remained serious.
'Why isn't he smiling?' She asked quietly. Scara glared at her.
'He's a little hard to make smile but he's still a good person' you promised her.
'Are you sure?'
Her words were innocent but they hit you really hard. Your breath stopped for a second and the fake smile on your face faded away.
'Now listen here you little...'
'I am sure. Don't worry' you cut down Scaramouche, sending a warning look to him.
He stayed silent but he looked like he could explode at any moment.
Maybe the child was able to sense it, maybe not, but she tried to get out of your hug all of a sudden. You put her down carefully, not forgetting to caress her hair and rosy cheeks even though her words upset both of you.
'I'm gonna go pick more flowers.'
'Yes. Be careful in the forest.' You warned her. 'Call my name if you're in danger!'
She nodded and ran away on her bare feet, looking like a little fairy among the old trees.
Leaving you alone with Scaramouche.

word count: 4.1k
summary:
You donât know your own worth, and Jean is getting sick of it.
Jean remembers the first time he ever laid eyes on you. He remembers the way his stomach flipped when you sat in the empty seat next to him and introduced yourself, a kind smile on your face. He also remembers the moment Eren walked in and caught your eye, and the dread that laid heavy in his chest when your cheeks grew pink. Despite the fact you had just met, he couldnât help but have distain for the boy the moment he smiled back at you, causing you to become shy and flustered. Why werenât you nervous to talk to him?
Thatâs a question the boy came to ask himself more times than he would ever admit, despite the fact that itâs been years. You and Jean had become a constant for each other, someone that was always there no matter what happened, or how much time passed. It was no question that you had become his best friend (except Marco, of course). There were certain things keeping you together that had Jean convinced it was fate keeping you in his life, from the moment you had graduated high school and decided to go to the same college that was hours away, to you working at his favorite coffee shop near the campus. That philosophy was not a strong willed one, being shot down every time you would tell him about a certain boy you were still hung up on. It was times like that that Jean thought maybe you in his life was a sort of punishment. What did he do to deserve the feeling of having what you want most in life in arms reach and never getting it?
Years had passed at this point though, and Jean got used to the feeling of pretending he didnât care. It got easier over time, the boy had become accepting of his fate. He was, and always will be the best friend. It was a little hard on his pride, but it definitely beats not having you in his life at all. Thatâs why Jean thought he would be fine when he accepted the invite to Marcoâs party in which the entire friend group had been invited. A part of him was excited, knowing it had been awhile since the last reunion. Another part of him thought about the fact that he would be there, and he felt frustration slowly build inside him.
âAh, Iâm so excited! Itâs been a minute since weâve seen everyone, huh?â The smile on your face made up his mind, knowing he could never say no to you. Jean chuckled and shook his head âYeah yeah, it should be better than staying in that cramped dorm room doing homeworkâ You furrowed your eyebrows, halfheartedly pushing his arm. âOh shut up, not everyone has a mommy who can pay for a nice big apartment on this side of town.â You snickered, and Jean froze up, redness rising to his cheeks. âS-shut up! She has nothing to do with this, plus you know Iâve invited you to move in how many times now? I have an extra room that just sits empty, you know.â You shook your head and smiled âYou know that my part-time job is not enough to cover rent and bills, Jeanâ. It was at this point Jean dropped the conversation, knowing he was fighting a lost cause. He tried explaining to you many times before he would let you stay for free, and Jean realized just how much you dislike charity work, even if it was never that to him.
âAnyway, are you ready yet? Weâre gonna be late now.â Jean ranted, looking up at the ceiling and scratching the back of his head. âYes, you can stop complaining you loudmouth.â You bent over and put on your heel, standing back up and flattening out the wrinkles in your clothes. It was then Jean had taken a proper look at you, taking in the nicest outfit he had seen you wear in a long time, albeit quite revealing. His eyes trailed up your bare legs, and he could feel himself go slightly weak in the knees. You really were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He cleared his throat, bringing his gaze back up to your face (though unable to look you in the eyes). âOkay, we can take my car.â He grabbed his keys from the kitchen counter, opening the front door and waiting for you to walk out first. Jeanâs attention was brought back to you when he noticed your hesitation. His face grew a curious expression as he looked at you expectedly. ây/n? Are you-â âAre you sure I look okay? I mean.. Eren is gonna be there, do you think heâll like my outfit?â Your eyes were glued to the ground, and your blush had become apparent as you played with your fingers.
Jean swallowed, pushing the dreadful and nauseous feeling from the fact you had been thinking about him down. He knew you had kept Eren in mind, but he wished he could ignore it just a little longer. âYou look amazing, anyone who would pass up the chance to have you is a fucking idiot, y/n.â It was at this moment you made eye contact with the boy, the gentle smile he saw when he first met you making itself visible. âThank you, Jean. I really couldnât ask for a better friend.â Although you had meant it as a compliment to him, all it seemed to do was twist the knife he had in his stomach for so many years that much deeper. All he could bring himself to do was smile and nod, gesturing for you to go out the door to the car.
He unlocked the doors to his blacked out Camaro, the top coming down to reveal black leather seats (his favorite birthday present, that car was his baby.). After opening the door for you, something he had made a habit of these past years, he got into the drivers seat. Putting the car in drive, you connected your phone to Bluetooth. He always let you play the music whenever you drove together. âOoo, I have to turn this up!â You said enthusiastically, pushing the system in his car to its limit as you screamed the lyrics and danced. Jean let his eyes leave the road for a moment to glance at you, his heart swelling at the way your hair flew around you face from the wind. He really did have it bad when it came to you.
âOkay, Iâm pretty sure this is Marcoâs new place. Should we head in now?â He asked, taking the keys out of the ignition and turning to stare at you. You heaved in a deep breath before fixing your hair in the mirror, and nodding to the boy. âYeah, letâs go.â He said nothing as he got out of the car, immediately going to your door and opening it. That was something you had to get used to, you didnât like to feel like you were of some importance. You let it go though, once you saw how insistent he was on doing it, ranting about how he had to be a gentleman or something like that. You grabbed the hand he offered out to you, standing up and walking to the front door of the home.
Jean didnât bother knocking, instead opening up the front door and walking in like he owned the place. This didnât surprise you though, besides yourself Marco was Jeanâs closest friend. The two were like brothers and you knew Jean was excited to see him after so long. âJean! I missed that stupid face, how are you, loser?â Ymir hooked an arm around the boyâs neck, clearly already slightly intoxicated. Jean let out a string of cuss words, wrestling out of the tall girlâs strong grip as you turned your attention to her much smaller girlfriend, Historia. âHey Historia! Itâs been awhile, huh?â You smiled at the girl. She had always been so sweet, and you thought her and Ymir balanced each other out perfectly. âIt has! Although it doesnât look like those two have changed much.â You laughed at the pair and how ridiculous they looked before turning your attention to the kitchen.
âJean,â you tugged on this sleeve âwill you come with me to get some drinks?â You didnât let him answer, knowing it would be a yes. He silently followed you to the kitchen, smirking at himself when he realized how assertive you had become, especially when you used to be so shy. You began pouring yourself a shot of vodka, âDamn, this early?â Jean laughed as you shrugged your shoulders before downing the drink, wiping your lips on the back of your hand. âLook, we gotta get the night started somehow, right?â You raised your eyebrow as you held out the next shot you poured to his face. He gave you a smug expression, knowing you were challenging him although he has proven on more than once occasion that he can out-drink you. He kept quiet though, and threw the shot back with ease. You smiled at him, each of you taking one more just to get started.
âOh shit, when did you get here dude?â Marco stepped into his kitchen, going straight to Jean and did a simple handshake. âNot too long ago. Anyway, look at you! Got this big ass place all to yourself, huh?â Marco shook his head and laughed, not good at taking praise. The two friends talked for awhile, Jean feeling himself relax with the slight buzz from the alcohol. It had been only a couple minutes the conversation lasted, you talking a little when you had been mentioned. Jeanâs attention was pulled from Marco when he saw you tense up from the corner of your eye, noticeably becoming more shy than you previously were. His gaze followed yours, when he was met with the one thing he really hoped not to see.Â
Eren sat on the couch, leaning back into with his arms spread out against the back of it, a beer in his hand as he occasionally took drinks from it. Your stomach turned when you saw him because fuck, he looked really good. His black long-sleeve and jeans were simple, but maybe it was the bun he had in his hair that made you almost start drooling. It took everything in Jeanâs power not to let out a scoff at how obvious you were being, and how stupid the entire situation was. âJust stop, Jean. Itâs not worth it. She doesnât want you.â His own thoughts definitely brought down his happy mindset, trying his best to ignore the sympathetic look Marco was giving him.Â
He watched as Erenâs eyes met yours, his smile growing as he gestured you over to sit next to him. You got impossibly redder as you nodded and smiled, looking up at Jean and silently asking if he was okay on his own. He didnât hold back his scoff at that, waving you off. âThese are my friends too, remember? Iâll be fine, go ahead.â Your smile widened as you immediately turned and bee-lined to where Eren was sitting. The pain Jean felt had a sort of sick nostalgia to it, reminding him of the day he witnessed the blush on your face when Eren had walked through the door. Taking a deep breath and clapping his hands together, he feigned the most convincing smile he had and turned towards Marco.
âI need another shot!â
âSo what was that about?â Eren laughed lowly, tilting his head toward Jean after you took the seat he offered. âHuh? What do you mean?â You questioned, completely oblivious to what he was hinting at. âYou looked like you were asking him for permission to sit with me or something, he isnât your boyfriend or anything right?â You didnât know why, but this comment slightly annoyed you. Maybe it was the condescending tone he put on, or the subtle diss to your best friend. You didnât know, but it didnât sit right. Shrugging it off you decided he probably didnât mean in that way and you put on a smile. âNah, I just wanted to make sure I wasnât ditching him. Heâs my best friend.â Eren gave an exaggerated sigh of relief as a smug expression took over his features. âWell, that sure is a relief.â He says smoothly, putting a hand on your knee.
You felt nothing but confusion when you didnât get butterflies, but another hint of annoyance. What is wrong with you? Youâve liked Eren for years, this should be a dream come true! But it wasnât, and things were moving too fast for you at the moment. Itâs not like you were a âprudeâ or anything, you just couldnât push down the bad feeling you had in your gut. âUh haha, yeah! Can you give me a sec? I really have to use the bathroom!â Eren assured it was no problem, and you quickly stood up causing his hand to slip off of your knee. You walked a little faster than you normally would to the bathroom, turning and locking the door behind you. You felt nothing but frustration toward yourself, why are you being this way? Before this moment, if Eren would have asked you to hook up, you thought you would have gladly said yes. You enjoyed texting him and you found him very attractive, so what is this dread?
You fixed your hair and outfit as much as you could, trying to freshen up before you go back into the crowded living room. On your way back to the couch where you were sitting, you decided to stop at the kitchen and take two more shots. Maybe it was your nerves and the anticipation that caused your hesitation, the alcohol should help with that. Taking a deep breath, you readied yourself and headed back to your spot. Turning your gaze to where Eren had been, you froze. There he was, with a random girl sitting on his lap as he whispered in her ear.
-
Jean sighed, stepping into the guest bedroom and sitting on the bed. He ran his hands through his hair and silently cursed himself. He wanted to have fun, he really did. But the moment he saw that flustered expression of yours from Erenâs presence, all he wanted to do was go home and feel bad for himself. His thoughts were racing, and it was probably the alcohol but he found himself becoming more angry than sad. Why didnât you want him? He deserved you, he had always been there and he knows he could treat you so much better than that douchebag ever could. You deserve better, and fuck, so does he.
The sound of the door being pushed open broke him out of his thoughts, and he was more than surprised to see you entering. He could already tell you were upset, he just couldnât put his finger on the reason why. âWerenât you with-â âI go to the bathroom for two minutes and he immediately starts trying to get into another girlâs pants? Can you believe that? I mean honestlyâ You continued your rant to Jean, but it was falling on deaf ears. He was getting more and more frustrated, the feeling settling in his bones as he tried to calm himself down. âI mean we arenât dating, but all of our friends saw me sitting with him, you know how stupid he made me look? I just-â Jean whipped his head at you, a sharp glare meeting your gaze. âYou want me to be real with you, y/n? He didnât make you look stupid. You do that yourself pretty well.â The room went dead silent. You considered for a moment he was messing with you, and you let out a laugh of disbelief. âJean what the fuck-â He stood up from his spot, his glare only hardening.
âNo! Just stop for a second. Iâm so sick and tired of you fucking complaining to me when itâs you who chooses to settle for assholes who obviously donât care about you. If I didnât know any better, Iâd say youâre just a fucking idiot. But I know youâre not, and thats what frustrates me so much, you know that? You treat yourself like shit and then want me to be there to be the person who makes you feel better. I canât do it anymore, I really canât.â His voice had risen a little, but that wasnât what got to you. It was the seriousness in his tone, you knew he was being genuine. Your eyes welled up with tears, feeling like you just got punched. âJean, I-â
âLet me finish y/n. I have always been there for you. Always. Despite the fact that you never got over Eren. Every time he ghosted you, who was there? You know what thatâs like? To watch the person youâve been in love with for years settle for the first asshole who comes her way? Do you have any idea what that does to me? You do realize youâve been fucking torturing me for the last four years, right?â Your mouth went completely dry, and for the first time since this conversation began, you looked him in the eyes and felt even worse when you saw the glassiness of them. Your breath got shallow as your emotions intensified, your mind racing of all the times you had literally cried on his shoulder, and you thought of how bad he must have been hurting. He kept it to himself for your sake, not wanting you feel upset or worry about him, and you never noticed a thing. Fuck, how could you have been so selfish?
You didnât even think about it, your body moving on what felt like autopilot when you grabbed the boy by his collar and pulled him into a kiss. He stiffened, obviously very surprised at your action, before putting his hands on your shoulders and pulling back. His face was a cherry red when he searched your features, shaking his head with a sad expression. ây/n, I donât want you to do this out of pity. Plus, youâre probably shit-faced right now.â You shook your head and put your hands on his wrists, keeping eye contact with him. âIâm only buzzed Jean, and this isnât out of pity. A part of me has always loved you. I just have a habit of ruining things in my life and I really didnât want you to be one of them.â Your eyes got impossibly wetter and a part of you was surprised they hadnât fallen down your cheeks yet.
Jean remained silent for what seemed like hours as he examined you expression. His eyes softened and you heart stopped when his hand went to the back of your neck to pull you into another heated kiss. It was a natural reflex the way you gripped onto the front of his shirt, your heart beating at a race you didnât even know was possible. âDamn, he's a good kisser.â you thought to yourself. You gasped slightly at the feeling of his tongue brushing against your bottom lip. You deepened the kiss and fell back on the bed, pulling him down with you. He pulled away, breathing heavily when a smile grew on his face. âWhere are you?â He got up from his position on top and walked to the door, turning the lock with a click. He stalked back to where you were sitting, standing between your legs as he towered over you. âIâve waited for this for years, Iâm not going to wait any longer.â
Excitement bubbled in your stomach as you looked up at him, a slight pout to your lips. Jean reached his hand down to your face, squeezing both of your cheeks to even further tilt your gaze towards him. âHow about it then, pretty girl? Wanna have some fun?â You didnât hesitate to respond, trying your best to nod in his tight grip. âYes, please Jean, please.â Although your voice was a little muffled, Jean got the message loud and clear. He gave a soft smile, furthering his hand down to lightly squeeze your throat instead. âOkay then, open wide angel.â You felt a little confused but listened anyway, opening your mouth wide for the boy above you. âWhat is he gonna-â your thoughts were cut off when you watched, almost in slow motion as Jean leaned over and spit into your open mouth. You froze for a fraction of a second, your mind racing as the excitement grew within you. Thatâs not what you were expecting but you were not complaining. Jeanâs long index finger tilted your chin up, closing your mouth as he kept eye contact with you. âSwallow.â He said in a gentle yet demanding tone, and you knew you couldnât make yourself say no to him. You swallowed the spit slowly, choosing to keep quiet and wait for his next move.
âLook at you, such a good girl.â he pushed your body further up the bed so you were laying rather than sitting and once again hovered over you. âGonna have to thank you for that, huh?â You squeezed your thighs together at his words, anticipation growing impossibly higher. He sat back on his calves, sitting between your legs as he spread them apart around him. His fingers ghosted up your legs, stopping at the hem of your shorts. He didnât move an inch after that, looking at you expectedly. âWell, Iâm waiting? You know all good girls ask nicely, right?â He couldnât stop the smug expression from taking over even if he tried. You squirmed in his hold, desperate for some sort of contact. âPlease Jean, I canât wait anymore. I need you.â You closed your eyes as you felt him unbutton your shorts, sliding them off with ease along with your panties. âGotta make sure youâre comfortable baby, tell me if it hurts, kay?â He slowly entered a finger inside you, his thumb circling around your clit slowly. Your lip was pulled in between your teeth as you bit down hard enough to almost draw blood. âOh, fuck.â He softly laughed at that, going slightly faster to elicit more reactions from you. âThatâs right baby, lemme hear you, yeah?â You didnât hold back, letting out a moan knowing the music blasting outside would drown it out. Jean added another finger and your eyes rolled to the back of your head, you had never felt bliss like this before.
âE-enough Jean.â You let out through strained breaths, and Jean felt himself grow cold for second with fear. Fuck, were you regretting this? âI donât want to wait anymore, I want you inside me. Please.â Jeanâs chest filled with relief as he shook his head at you. âYou needy baby, alright, Iâll give you what you want.â Jean pulled his fingers out of you, and stuck them in your mouth with no hesitation. âYou sure you ready for me, sweet girl?â He pulled his pants and boxers off, lining himself up with you. You nodded frantically, putting your hands on his shoulders and pulling him down for a kiss. Jean pushed himself into you, pulling away from the kiss to let out a deep groan as his head fell onto your shoulder. âFuck, you feel so good around me baby. Youâre so good for me, you know that? Iâve wanted this for so long and itâs more than I could have ever imagined.â He ranted on almost senselessly as he was overwhelmed with emotion. âI love you so much, sweet girl. So so much.â You felt tears prick your eyes, from both the pleasure and his sentiment. âI love you Jean, I love you.â those words had more of an affect on him than anything else you said that night, and he felt himself coming close to the edge. âI think Iâm gonna-â âMe too babyâ he interrupted, placing his hand back on your throat and squeezing. âCum with me, angel.â His words and the pressure on your neck was enough to send you over, raking your nails down his back leaving marks. He collapsed on top of you, his head resting in your neck as a tired smile rested on his face. You brought your hand up to scratch his scalp, completely fuck-drunk and forgetting of anything else that happened prior to this moment.
âSo thatâs why you always open my car door for me, huh?â

PART 1 | PART 2 | PART 3Â
MASTERLIST
NOTE: HERE IT IS!!! đ„° Thank you all for showing so much love to Part 1, I seriously wasnât expecting all the requests for more of the story, so it was fun coming up with ideas! Iâm still not sure if I want to do 3 or 4 parts yet, but Iâll let you know soon! In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy reading this second installment! â€
***
He's been a ghost in my head for four months.
Everywhere I went I could hear his voice, hear the way he whimpered out my name and how cries got higher and higher as I clenched around him. I felt the rough grip he held on my hips as I rode him, the pads of his fingertips leaving behind faint bruises that I currently wished I still had.
And more prominently, I saw his face. It was always in the back of my mind, burning into me with lust-drunk eyes and a pouty mouth in the shape of an O. It sizzled into my brain, the sound definitely sounding more like raindrops than fire, but I was more than okay with that.
Though, every time it rained, I couldn't help but wonder if he felt the sameâ if he stood outside or watched from the safety of wherever he was and replayed that moment over and over again until he was aching to be in my presence once more.
I also had to wonder if he knew about the ring I'd left in his front seat.
Did he leave it in his car, perhaps in the glovebox or on a string that he tied around his mirror? Or did it fall somewhere between the seats? Maybe he found it and did what I never could, pawning it off for some happily-accepted cash while he laughed at how careless I was to take a stranger's virginity and then leave my expensive diamond ring behind like a fool.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the means to find out.
It's not like I could have wandered up to the FBI building and ask to meet with a Dr. Spencer Reid... Right? Because that as absurd. I'd only met the guy once, and he'd probably think I was crazy for trying to track him down.
It was a whole ordeal that I'd mulled over again and again, and I ultimately decided that it was ridiculous.
If anything I was happy to be rid of the ring. I could move on with my life, and maybe Spencer sold it for money or he's held on to it as a souvenir for a special night.
Win-win.
It didn't dull the small ache I felt for him, though. Every once in a while I found myself remembering how great that night was... I hadn't felt that wayâsexy, confident, funâin a long time, and as much as it sucked that he was getting picked on by some drunk idiots at a bar, I was glad it led me to him.
Some nights, when I was missing him significantly more than usual, I even went back to Waterson's in the event that I'd run into him again, hopefully under better circumstances.
Tonight was one of those nights.
This time I didn't have a ring to keep most of the men from hitting on me, but now that I was well and truly over my ex-husband, I was glad I didn't use that as an excuse to keep the ring around anymore. As annoying and painful as the drunken flirting was, I was way better equipped to handle it and truthfully somewhat relieved that I could get back to normal.
You know, save for the fact that I was only at Waterson's in the first place to maybe see some guy I hooked up with four months ago and still haven't stopped thinking about...
Because that was totally a normal thing to do.
I was on my second beer of the night when I felt a presence behind me. And even though I was pretty sure than I'd be able to tell if it was really Spencer, a part of me still buzzed thinking of the prospect of seeing him here again.
I turned around though, and was met with an entirely different person. I tried not to look disappointed, but it must have shown because the man who'd caught my attention gave a small laugh.
"I'm sorry, are you expecting someone?"
I liked to think that I had a good read on most people, especially when it came to men in bars. This man was someone I looked at for a few seconds and immediately knew that he wasn't looking to make me uncomfortable. He had come over to flirt with me, no doubt, but the difference here was that where most men would have gone straight into it, this man genuinely looked like he was willing to haul ass if I really was waiting for someone and didn't want his company.
That alone made me willing to entertain him a little, even if I was disappointed that he wasn't who I desperately wanted him to be. But it certainly helped that he was attractive.
The first word that came to mind was smooth. Even as I laughed back at the man and answered him, my eyes did some wandering of his figure and admired what I saw. A crisp, tight grey tee shirt that hugged some rather nice muscles, and brown skin that was just a few shades lighter than his eyes, which were kind and a little playful. His smile was stunning, sharing that same playfulness that his eyes held as he practically sparkled to life at my answer.
"Oh, no, I'm not... But I certainly wasn't expecting you..."
I made sure to smile at him, a little smirk that complimented the admiring eyes I was offering him and a little laugh that never failed to get me what I wanted.
He gently leaned into the bar, one of his hands coming to rest of the cool wooden surface. "I'm Derek."
"Y/N."
"Pretty name."
I don't know what made me so bold, but I nodded and shot him a wink. "Not as pretty as you."
We shared another laugh, and then I took a swig of my beer, finishing the last of it and then sliding towards him. "Can I buy you a drink?"
"We just met and you're already stealing from me... That's my line."
"What can I say, I'm quick... Hey, Carla! Can I get two more for me and my friend here?"
The bartenderâand my longtime friendâlaughed a little, taking my empty bottle. "Sure thing."
The look she gave me right before turning away practically yelled, I thought your type was helpless skinny white guys who can barely look you in the eye without creaming themselves...
Yeah, well, you worked with what you were given. And besides, my type was practically anyone with just a shred of decency.
Real high bar, huh?
But after Patrick, I couldn't complain. Derek seemed like the type of guy who would flirt with you at any given chance, but respected your boundaries all the same. Unfortunately that was hard to find nowadays, especially in bars like Waterson's.
So, yeah, he wasn't the man I was naively wishing to see here tonight, but he was into me, he was decent from what I could tell, and he was hot.
So we had a drink and spent a good twenty minutes chatting it up. Since it was my third beer of the night, I was accumulating a pretty steady buzz, and the longer I talked with Derek the more I opened up a little. I found myself leaning into him and finding excuses to lightly touch his arm, but I kept noticing that he was glancing down at his watch occasionally.
"Are you expecting someone?" I asked, playfully.
"Right, uh... Yeah, I was supposed to be meeting a friend here. He's usually early, but I think we got our times mixed up again..."
"Again, huh? You two aren't very good coordinators?"
Derek laughed, the sound making me feel all warm. "Well, for FBI agents you'd think we'd be better at it."
"OâOh," I said, my heart stopping for a beat. Had I heard that right? Was I more tipsy than I thought? "FBI?"
"You seem stunned," he said with another laugh. "What, you're not a criminal, are you? Do I have to take you in?"
I laughed, albeit nervously, but decided that this all had to be pure coincidence. If I didn't, I would have gone insane. Even still, it was difficult for me to sit here and openly flirt with this man when I knew he just confessed to having the same profession as the literal man of my dreamsâ and as of late that also included daydreams.
In fact, I was positive that's what it was when I saw Spencer approach usâ a daydream.
Derek was calling my name, I knew that much, but I couldn't do anything but look over his shoulder where Spencer's ghost practically froze in place when he spotted me.
"Y/N?"
That wasn't Derek's voice. Spencer's mouth moved in time with the calling of my name, and it even sounded like him. I blinked rapidly, hoping that I could snap out of it and excuse myself for the rest of the night, so I could go home and sleep it off.
But even when I finished blinking, expecting Spencer's figure to be gone, he was still there.
At this point Derek had turned around, and what he said next snapped me out of it pretty damn good.
"Reid? You know her?"
"You're real," I said, speaking for the first time in a while. My throat felt dry, and my heart came alive at the sight of him.
Spencer stared at me, his eyes softening after I spoke to him. I saw his lips twitch into a shy smile before his hand came up in an equally shy wave. "YâYeah, I'm real." What followed was a huffed laugh that cemented his nervousness at seeing me again for the first time in four months, and it was the most refreshing thing I'd heard in a while.
"Oh my God," I said, a smile of my own starting to creep up.
I'd completely forgotten about Derek being there until he spoke up, snapping us out of our reunion, his voice conveying every range of confusion.
"What the hell is this?"
***
I knew there was always a minor chance that I'd run into her again, but it still rendered me utterly still and practically useless when I spotted her across the bar with Derek.
She was just... there. After months of debating whether or not I should send her a letter with the ring mailed back or stopping by to see her, or even using Garcia's help to find where she might have been so I could 'surprise' running into her... It happened to chance that I didn't need any of that at all. Because she was really there.
And she was flirting with Derek.
I'd have been lying if I said that didn't really bother me, but truthfully I'd always felt a bit insecure around him, mostly when it came to being surrounded by women who were most likely fawning over him instead of me.
Not that I particularly wanted or even needed them to fawn over me in the first place... It was just... Telling.
And it's not like I knew or thought I wasn't at least somewhat attractive. But seeing the one and only woman who'd ever made me feel very good about all of that for probably the first time in my whole life openly flirting with my best friend? It stung. It felt like now that she'd seen me and him in the same place, she'd decide that she'd made a mistake before and that she'd be better off with someone elseâ someone who was stronger and more skilled and probably easier to look at.
Even when the three of us sat at a booth and Y/N decided to sit next to me, her proximity dizzying after all this time apart, the first thought that came to my mind was, She doesn't want to see me. She'd much rather sit across from Derek so she can look at him instead.
I was starting to think maybe I should have stuck to mailing her a letter...
"So... Are you gonna tell me how you two know each other?" Derek asked, leaning back and easily amused.
Y/N seemed to be amused by all of this, too, because she answered immediately, a tone in her voice that I'd only dreamed about for four months and nine days straight.
"Oh, we were engaged."
If I didn't know any better, I would have thought Derek's eyebrows were going to fly straight off his head. "Engaged? Like... Engaged?"
"IâIt's not what you think," I jumped in, suddenly a little embarrassed. "Not really engaged, but... Y/N pretended to be my fiancĂ©e once... There were, um... There were these guys who wouldn't leave me alone and she came over and told them off."
I hoped he wouldn't piece it together, but it was inevitable, and the look of realization that crossed his features made me feel extra warm with embarrassment.
"Oh... Is she the reason why you actually said yes to that date last month?"
Y/N turned to me, an eyebrow raised. "A date? Because of me? I don't... I don't follow..."
I was going to explain, but Derek beat me to it.
"I've always tried to set Pretty Boy here up for a date, but he's always said no, and then out of the blue I ask him and he agrees. Which was a shock in its own. I knew something was up, something had to have given him the confidence to go on the date... And all along its been you, hasn't it?"
"Well, I... I don't know, I guess so?"
They both looked at me then, and I stared down at my hands, unwilling to look either of them in the eye. "YâYeah... I don't know, I guess Y/N just... helped me see something in myself I hadn't seen before."
I half expected them to think it was silly, but Y/N's hand dropped down onto my knee and I stared at it for a moment before flitting my eyes up to meet her gaze. It was soft, and a small smile grazed her pretty features.
"Oh, Spencer, I'm so glad I could do that for you... How was the date?"
"OâOh, it... It was fine. Not... I'm not seeing her anymore, but it wasn't bad... Just, um... There wasn't much of a connection, that's all."
In simpler words, She wasn't you.
But I couldn't tell her that, not when she was staring at me again with those sparkling eyes and her hand burning a hole through my pants with her electrifying touch, and most certainly not with Derek sitting right in front of us.
"Hey, whether it worked out or not, whatever you did to get him out there, it must have been one hell of a job," he said as if he'd been reading my thoughts.
Y/N gave me a knowing look, though, and suddenly I was transported to my car, feeling her hand explore my body as she showered me with filthy words and names that set me alight and cemented something about myself that I'd never known. Since then I had dreams about her, telling me how much of a 'good little whore' I was for her, and I always woke up from those dreams clutching her ring around my finger.
"Well, like I said, I'm glad I could help. Your boy here is one in a million."
It was awkward. This was all very extremely awkward. And even though I knew that, I still couldn't bring myself to stop it. I couldn't bring myself to stop staring at Y/N, soaking her all up like she was going to leave again at any given second. I couldn't stop thinking about her, our predicament, what we did and what I discovered about myself back then...
God, I was talking like we hadn't seen each other in years. It was only four months and yet I was acting like she'd left me alone after years of being together. This was ridiculous, right?
Thankfully Derek's phone rang, snapping us all out of the bubble of silence we'd been in for what seemed like forever.
"Uh, I'm gonna... get this. Be back in a few."
I expected Y/N to drop whatever act it was she had going on with me after he left the table, but her hand remained firmly on my knee. And then she moved a little closer, turning to me completely and tilting her head with a smile that only meant mischief.
"So... Looks like we have some catching up to do..."
***
I was practically giddy when Derek excused himself for a "Garcia Emergency". Though, I was concerned until he assured us that it wasn't anything bad, and by the look on his face as he quickly talked things over With Spencer, I got the feeling he was expecting his friend to 'have some fun' tonight. And that's what truly made me giddy.
We sat close to each other again, a few drinks between us and only a few booths away from the one we sat in the first time we met. If it weren't for the rock missing from my finger, I would have been convinced we'd actually transported back to that exact moment.
"You getting Deja vu, Doctor?" I asked with a smile, watching as he swallowed.
"YâYeah, kinda. It's great seeing you again, I... I really didn't think I would."
I laughed. "You know where I live, and you're an FBI agent... I'm pretty sure you could have saw me again if you wanted to."
"Well... Yeah, but I didn't want to be creepy or anything..."
"Trust me... If you randomly showed up at my door, I'd be anything but creeped out. I missed you..."
Spencer looked up at me for a moment, his eyes shifting before he seemed to relax. "You... did?"
"Of course... I haven't stopped thinking about you since we met. And I hope that's not creepy," I added in a laugh.
"No, not at all," he reassured with a nervous laugh of his own. "Actually, um... I've been thinking about you a lot, too..."
"Even on your date?"
I'd only meant it as a little joke, maybe another conversation starter, but at the mention he seemed... embarrassed.
"Oh, no, that was... That wasn't really... IâI only really did it to get Derek off my back, itâ"
I rested a hand on his arm and smiled gently. "Hey, it's alright... I didn't really mean anything by that, I'm just... I meant it before, I'm really glad you did it. I know you said it didn't really work out, but did you have some fun at least?"
He laughed again, but this time there was hardly any humor in it. "Well, she wasn't you..."
I smiled a bit, but immediately following his words was a wide-eyed terror and instant regret. "Oh, I didn't... I'm sorry, Iâ"
"So, you did think about me on your date, huh?"
He froze then, presumably at the low, seductive drawl I blanketed over my words. His mouth slightly hung open, tongue flittering behind teeth as he tried to find the right words.
I smiled at him, and then he settled on, "Yeah. I did."
"It's not very polite to think of other girls while you're on a date, you know..." I made sure to let him know I was only teasing, and that I just wanted to know what his reaction would be.
Still, he surprised me when he said, "It's not my fault you're impossible to forget..."
He flashed me a smile then, and my stomach twisted deliciously at the little dash of confidence he'd grown in the past minute.
Maybe I could bring more out of him...
"Okay, fair... But it is your fault that you didn't come find me."
"Also fair... But... You're here now..."
Spencer inched closer to me, and I smiled, taking my bottom lip gently between my teeth before leaning in, too. "How about that..."
Our lips brushed for a second, so gentle it was like being tickled by a feather, and then he spoke again, his breath hot on my mouth. "I've... dreamt about seeing you again for so long now... Kissing you..."
"Me, too," I responded, bringing a hand down to graze the inside of his thigh. "Guess it's a good thing I'm a firm believer that dreams come true."
"Yeah," is all he said before he finally took the initiative to finally kiss me.
I sighed, melting into his touch and tightening the grip I had on his leg. Meanwhile his hands rested at my forearms, fingers dancing experimentally over my skin and making me tingle in their wake. And once I parted my lips, he took his shot and gently brought his tongue out to meet mine in a collision that quite frankly made me throb.
He'd been a decent kisser before, but... It's obvious he's had a little practice since then. Not that I'd have minded either way, but damn if this newfound experience didn't give me the most sinful idea.
I felt him whine as I pulled away, and that made everything even better.
"You wanna get out of here?" I said in the cheesiest way possible. But he didn't seem to mind.
In fact, he nodded rapidly and took a quick drink of his beer before following me out of the booth and towards the door.
***
Leading Spencer up and through the doorway of my house was probably the most electrifying 'date' experience I've had... well, ever. I'd been excited to sleep with people, sure, but with Spencer I found something greater. I wasn't entirely sure what that was, yet, but it was definitely good.
He reiterated that thought nicely once the door was closed and his hands were on my face, bringing my mouth to his again while I dropped by keys and haphazardly threw my phone and wallet on the side-table next to us in favor of gripping his shirt.
Just through his kisses I could tell how much he'd longed for this moment. I know he told me, and I'd certainly understood the feeling, but when it came down to actually acting it out in the flesh, I was much more in favor of that method of communication.
I gladly accepted his wordless confessions, through every groan and gentle graze of his tongue that he offered to me. And in return I gave him sharp tugs of his shirt and hair, conveying my urgency and the need to be closer to him.
When my legs started moving, his did, too, and we reluctantly pulled apart in favor of not tripping up the hard wooden staircase on the way to my bedroom. Though, I was thankful he was in just as much of a rush as I was, because otherwise I probably would have gotten embarrassed.
And that didn't happen easily.
I fumbled for the light switch once the door shut and our mouths connected once again, and I could have sworn it was like something out of a trashy TV show. The thought almost made me laugh, but I held it in in favor of moaning when Spencer lowered his hands to my ass and squeezed, pulling us closer together. I finally hit the light switch and then flow both of my arms to wrap around his neck and draw him even closer.
He was everywhere all at once, and it fueled me. I'd come to miss physical human interaction, but I hadn't realized how badly I craved it until he was right there, taking up all of my personal space and aiding me in creating this perfect recipe of frantic, glorious electricity.
It was going to kill me, and I would have gladly let it.
I experimentally rolled my hips forward and felt him gasp into me, and it wasn't long before he started growing hard.
Good... Now I could set the plan in motion.
"Remember what you told me?" I asked breathlessly before our heads switched sides and leaned in for more kisses.
In between them, he returned, "When?"
"The first time we met..." I trailed my lips down the column of his throat as I continued. "When you said you edged yourself..."
"OâOh... Yeah, I remember."
"Mmm," I hummed, sucking a mark into his neck for the time being. As I did it, the grip he held on my ass tightened a bit, and I laughed lightly over his skin, slowly licking my way up to his ear. "I wanna see..."
The trembling he provided under my influence was a good sign. And then another came when he whispered. "YâYou want to see... me? Touching myself?"
"Mhmm..." I planted kisses all along his jaw before pulling back to look him in the eye, making sure he knew I was serious when I told him, "But only if that's okay with you."
He didn't even take a second to think, nodding rapidly once more and giving me a flash of a smile. "It's okay."
I hummed happily, leaning forward to give him one huge kiss, long and hard, before pulling away from him completely and nodding towards the bed. "Clothes off..."
Our hands got to work as soon as the words left my mouth.
And it wasn't until my shirt was on the ground and Spencer's eyes remained glued to my chest with trembling hands that I realized, even though we'd slept together before, our clothes had never actually come off. Tonight we were completely baring ourselves to each other, and that was somehow more intimate than the idea of taking his virginity was.
I reached out and grabbed his shirt, gently assisting him in removing it, and it must have snapped him out of wherever he'd gotten trapped because he shook his head and let out a nervous laugh, averting his eyes from me and staring at the ground.
"SâSorry."
"Nothing to apologize for," I reassured, throwing his shirt to the ground next to mine and bringing his hands to rest on my bare stomach, slowly sliding them up. "I like when you look at me..."
His eyes reached mine once again, breath hitching as I guided his hands to cup my breasts over the bra. "Well, I... I like looking at you."
I kissed him again, hoping to bring forth some familiarity to our current routine, and it worked like a charm. Our movements were slow and steady, each article of clothing joining the floor one by one until we were down to nothing but my underwear.
I led him to the bed then, breaking us apart and making him sit. Now that I was taller than him, I gripped his chin in my hand and tilted his head up to look at me.
"Lay back for me?"
He scooted further along the bed until finally he leaned back, his head resting nicely on my pillows. I climbed up after him, kneeling at his feet and bringing a hand down trace lines along the inside of his thigh. Meanwhile I looked him up and down, finally getting a decent look at his full, bare form.
"Ohh, so pretty... And I bet you're even prettier when you're touching yourself... You wanna start?"
He reached out for his dick in answer, wrapping a delicate hand around it and slowly stroking up and down as he looked up at me with the stars in his eyes. "Like this?"
"However you normally do it, baby. Just relax. Make yourself feel good..."
After a slight nod, his hand picked up a little speed. He swiped his thumb over the tip to gather some precum for lubrication, but as hot as that was, I had a better idea.
"Here, let me help," I offered with a smile, leaning down and bracing my hands on his knees. I let spit gather on the end of my tongue before allowing it to drip down and land right on the tip of his cock. The sound he let out, broken and dripping with want, sent a jolt of electricity through my blood, only amplified by how wet he sounded once he started moving his hand again.
I let my eyes roam all over, taking in every heave of his chest, the veins in his arm and hand as he worked himself, the soft fluttering of his eyes as he lost himself in the moment... At the risk of sounding absolutely cheesy, it truly was a magical sight. I felt entirely lucky that I got to see him again at all, and now like this, bare and vulnerable and exuding lust while I was left to my own devices.
All that to say, I hadn't realized I was touching myself as well, until a whimper came from my mouth, my clit gently throbbing with stimulation at the hands of... well, my hand.
Upon seeing me, Spencer let out a whine of his own, picking up speed with his hand and throwing his head back onto the pillow.
"Y/N..."
He wasn't addressing me, wasn't asking me anything at all... My name on his lips was more of a declaration, like some type of chant, a string of letters and syllables formed specifically to bring him closer to the edge he knew he'd have to resist falling from.
"You getting there, baby?"
"UâUh huh..."
"You better hold it," I drawled lowly, bringing myself into the more strict persona I wanted to bring out tonight, given that's still something he was into. "Just like you promised."
After a few more hard strokes of his hand, Spencer leg to quickly, bringing his hand to rest on his chest as his mouth let out the most delicious whines and grunts of determination to keep it all in. Without the stimulation, I noticed his dick slightly twitching over his stomach, glistening and  hard...
Fuck, if it wasn't the hottest fucking thing I'd ever experienced with my own eyes and ears...
I pulled my hand out of my underwear, too, still a little shocked that I hadn't realized before that I was doing it to myself and a little turned on at the fact that it had that big of an effect on him.
"IâI would have been able to go longer, but... But you were there, and you were... And I only ever have you in my head, not right in front of me..."
It was obvious that he was probably afraid he'd let me down somehow, and that was definitely not the case. So I leaned down and dragged my hands over his lower stomach, feeling inch of skin while my mouth came down to press featherlight kisses to the base of his dick. "Spence, that was hot as fuck... You really think of me when you do that?"
"Mhm," is all he offered, currently reveling in the way my tongue darted out to explore the lines of his cock.
"I think of you, too," I admitted, pausing to press a kiss to the underside of his tip. "When I touch myself... I think about how pretty you were the first time I called you a slut... Tell me, baby, you still like that?"
"God, Y/N, yes..."
I sucked gently on his tip now, watching as he watched me, his bottom lip occupied between his teeth and his eyes on the brink of closing.
He was getting close again. So I stopped, pulling off of him with a soft pop and smiling as I crawled up his body and planted a kiss to his cheek. My legs straddled his hips, and I got close to his ear.
"Tell me, what about this... other girl you went on a date with... Did you sleep with her?"
"Um... Yâyes..."
"I'm willing to bet she didn't make you feel half as good as I do..."
"She didn't..."
I smiled against his jaw, bringing one of my hands to stroke his hair. "Was she mean to you? Did she make you her dirty little whore?"
I could feel him let out a trembling breath as he answered, "No."
"That's right," I said softly, right before switching gears and tugging on his hair, pulling back to look in his eyes. "Because you're my dirty little whore."
His cock twitched along my ass at my words, and it made me smile. But before I could speak again, he did it first.
"I'm all yours, Y/N... No one else's..."
I couldn't help it then. His words, our position, the needy look in his eyes as he confessed this to me... All of it was enough to make me snap.
So I leaned in and kissed him, hard. My hands tangled in his hair while his flew to my waist, sliding down to play with the hem of my underwear as his tongue slipped into my mouth and against my own with ease. I swallowed each whine with the greatest pleasure, my hips involuntarily grinding down and spreading the evidence of my arousal along the fabric of my panties. I wondered then if he could feel how wet I was, how much I wanted him.
I didn't have to wonder for long though, because he slipped one of his hands around front and dipped into said fabric, finding how wet I was and groaning into my mouth at the feel of it.
"You've been dying to get another try at this pussy, haven't you?" I whispered into his mouth.
Unsurprisingly, I was met with a whine in return. "Uh huh... I missed you so much..."
I ground down into his hand, nipping at his lips a little before giving my next demand.
"Then prove it."
Rather than fingering me like I expected him to, Spencer rolled over and straddled my legs, tearing my panties down and leaving me with a smile.
"I love the confidence you've grown, baby boy... Proves how dedicated you are... to being the best little slut you can be."
"Yes, Y/N," he responded, leaning down and kissing the inside of my thigh. "I wanna be good for you... Let me show you, please..."
"Show me..."
His tongue came in contact with my pussy, and it immediately sent my head flying back into the pillows, a low whine escaping my throat. He flicked it over my clit expertly a few times before going down and licking a broad strip up the entire area. Vibrations flittered along his path through his groans, and just hearing how much he enjoyed it had me clenching the sheets for stability.
"Ohh, what a good boy," I praised, bringing one of my hands to stroke his hair back. "Who's my good little whore?"
He grumbled into me, but I tugged at his hair.
"Say it."
He pulled away briefly then, still in contact with my pussy as he breathed out, "I'm your good little whore..." And then he promptly got back to work, devouring me with a hungry precision that made me laugh.
"Needy, too, I see... So desperate for that cunt..."
"Yes, " I heard him mumble into me. He repeated it a few more times, chanting it as his tongue flicked through me and tasted every last drop of my impending orgasm.
I sat up a little and held his head to me, his tongue moving at a quicker, more relentless pace. My stomach started to twist and my legs clenched, holding Spencer firmly between my legs as my hips rolled forward and met his every movement. Moans fell sweetly off my lips with every second, getting higher and higher until I finally held myself still and let the high take over. His tongue drew out one of the sharpest orgasms I'd ever had, the fervor he delivered making me see stars for a solid twenty to thirty seconds before it finally subsided and my muscles started to relax.
"Fuck," I breathed, almost whining when he removed his mouth from me and just kneeled there, studying my form as I tried to catch my breath. "Get up here," I asked more than demanded, though it might have been hard to tell what with my head spinning.
Spencer climbed over my body and I pulled his face down into a warm, wet kiss that had me tasting myself and growing wet again at the taste. I pulled away then, looking into his eyes and playing with his hair.
"I can't believe you didn't come see me sooner... Depriving me of that pretty fucking mouth..."
He kissed me again briefly, whining into my mouth before I continued. "But no... You were busy going on dates..."
"I'm sorry, Y/N," he said, kissing my cheek softly, over and over as his lips made their way down to my neck. "I'm so sorry, I... I wanted to see you, I just..."
"I know, I know," I cooed, closing my eyes and relishing in the feel of his lips on my skin. "But tonight you're gonna make up for lost time, got it?"
"Yes... Yes, I'll do whatever you want..."
I hummed, bringing his head back up to meet his gaze, and my thumb stroked over his bottom lip. "I want you to put that pretty cock to good use and fuck me like the desperate little slut I know you are..."
I kissed him then, gasping out once he shifted his hips and entered me slowlyâ I knew he was going to get to it quickly, but I guess I'd underestimated his need to please me.
The sentiment had me curling with want, more of it coming when he bottomed out inside me and trembled. Really, I could feel him shaking as he started to pull out and then back in, setting a steady pace that would surely become more erratic once I started talking to him again.
"Shit..." Spencer cursed, shifting up on his arms for more leverage as he steadily drilled into me. "I mâmissed this... Missed you..."
"I know, baby, I know... I missed you, too... And you know what else?"
I drifted one of my hands down in between us, spreading out my fingers so that his cock fit nicely between them as he fucked me. The added friction of my fingers had him whining out, dropping his head down so that his ear was right by my mouth.
I whispered. "So did my pussy... So you better fuck her good..."
The sudden brutal velocity in which he slammed his hips against mine felt like a strike of lightning, and the loud groan he let out against my neck was the thunder. Everything shifted then, Spencer lifting himself up and holding onto my legs as he drilled into me at full force, his body glistening with exertion and my own succumbing to his wind.
"Yeah, that's it," I cooed through a laugh of pure pride. "That's a good fucking whore... Giving me that cock like I own it..."
"YâYou... do," he stuttered through a broken whine. He was getting close again, and I knew just the thing to do the trick.
I reached my hand up to hold his neck, not applying any pressure, but just holding as I forced his eyes down to look at me. "That's right... That slutty cock is mine... Now give it to me..."
The end of my sentence was punctuated with a sharp cry out as another orgasm tore through me. I shouted Spencer's name into the abyss as He fucked me through it and started twitching inside me, signaling his end as well. And the added warmth from his cum as it coated my insides well and truly marked me as his, despite the words we'd just exchanged.
I belonged to him just as much as he did to me, and I wondered if he knew that. If he knew just how much he inhabited my every thought.
I wanted him to know that I was practically infatuated with him.
But that conversation could wait until after we were... settled down.
He was still inside me as he slumped forward, laying his head on my chest and rubbing lines into my forearm.
"You okay?" I asked gently, combing through his hair with my fingers.
"Most definitely... Just... tired."
I smiled, leaning down and pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. "You're welcome to stay here for the night..."
He was silent for a long while, almost so long that I thought he'd actually fallen asleep. But then he said, "Right here? With you?" and my heart soared.
"Of course."
Truthfully, I'd have let him stay forever.
But when I opened my eyes the next morning, the other side of the bed was cold, and his body was nowhere to be found.
***
Dear Y/N,
I'm sorry for leaving you alone last week. I know you must be a little hurt and confused, but if you aren't, then just forget I ever said anything.
Nonetheless, I regretted leaving you behind last time without at the very least sending you a letter, so I hope this one finds you well. After all, you have shown me experiences I never could have imagined enjoying as much as I did, so I should thank you for that.
But that's not all that this letter is for.
I also want to invite you out to dinner some time. I know this might be a little unconventional, but given how we met and also how we reunited, I figured this would be a fun, romantic way to ask you out. I understand if you don't feel that way given that I've more or less abandoned you twice now, but I promise it was all for good reason.
If you'd like to talk more, about anything I've disclosed in this letter, I've attached my phone number below, otherwise I'd love to hear back from you. I know this sounds strange, but I've been dying to know what your handwriting looks like. I bet it's pretty, like you.
Once again, I am truly sorry for leaving you behind without a word, but I want a chance to make it up to you. Please say you'll reach out. Otherwise, I know where to find you if you'd rather I make some cheesy romantic comedyâesque gesture of affection that either makes you fall in love with me or hate me.
Yours, Spencer Reid

Note
Tony gets injured during a mission, and his Omega, peter is not happy about it.
Notes: Itâs pretty angsty at first but I tried to give it a little extra fluff and warmth at the end for you. Sorry this took me over a year to finish đ
Hereâs to hoping this means I finish the other drafts of prompts I got ages ago.
Warning(s):Â ABO Dynamics, Light Angst, Peter Cries ______________________________________________________________
It wasnât coming together right.
Peter stared at his sad attempt at a nest with tears swimming in his eyes. After Tony had been called away on a mission, the omega was left to his own devices. The rest of the Avengers wouldnât let him do a thing in his âconditionâ (even saying the word made him want to roll his eyes), least of all his alpha. Tony had taken his possessive jealousy to a new level the minute heâd found out Peter was carrying. So, while he went out and risked his neck, Peter was stuck at home, staring at the pathetic lump of pillows and balls of Tonyâs shirts that heâd tried to make into a nest in the closet.
Why the closet?
It smelled the most of his alpha, and was small (well, smaller than the bedroom) enough that he felt safe. He missed his alpha, much as Peter didnât want to admit it, and kept asking FRIDAY for updates on the man. Sheâd tell him things like, âHeâs fine, Peter. The boss asks you to please not worry so much about him.â It didnât help. Nothing helped, because his alpha was off risking his neck while Peter was left fidgeting over blankets and fussing about his broken nest.
He wanted to cry.
It was frustrating, the hormones that his bump was making him go through. The omega had never thought heâd be this kind of omega. Sure, Peter preened under his alphaâs eyes and he got a little too snippy and possessive when other omegas were around his mate, but the raging hormones were something else. Peter had bawled over a Dodo video of a baby bird being returned to its mama the other day. Heâd cried so hard that heâd hyperventilated, and spurred FRIDAY into sending an emergency alert to Tony. When the alpha came home and found his omega in such a state, the man had all but lost his mind.
Needless to say, Peter loved being pregnant. He loved his bump and couldnât wait to meet his baby and have her in his arms, but for the moment, he felt like a burden.
A burden who couldnât even make a proper nest.
Before he knew it, Peter was crying again. He curled in on himself (as best he could, given he was approaching seven months along and the swell of his tummy got in the way every time he tried) and sat there near his nest, silent tears rolling down his cheeks. He wanted his alpha. Peter sniffled, reaching for one of the shirts heâd strewn across the nest. It was an old Black Sabbath shirt of Tonyâs, one that had seen plenty love itself and came with a smattering of tiny holes near the neck. The omega pushed his nose against the fabric and nuzzled it, stifling the sounds of his sobs in an effort to make sure FRIDAY wouldnât alert Tony to his distress.
His senses and his hormones were supercharged. It had been hours since Tony (and a few of the others) had rushed off to fight some super powered sea monster. Truth be told, the reason that Peter was crying in the closet was because his alpha was gone, not because of his nest. He bit back a wail as he thought of his alpha, hating how Tony was so quick to rush into danger. Peter had tried to convince him.
âIf Iâm not allowed to go on missions, you shouldnât be, either!â
âBaby, thatâs ridiculous. Iâm not pregnant.â
Peter had stared up at his alpha. They were tucked away together on the couch, Tony with one arm draped around him, his attention on a hologram that FRIDAY was projecting. Peter was nestled into his alphaâs side, desperate (he hated it, how needy the pregnancy was making him) for attention after his alpha had been away all day. The words stung. Peter bit his lip and looked down. It was archaic, the way that Tony treated him now that he was pregnant, and it made him want to scream about how unfair it was.
He hadnât felt like such a child since before the whole Adrian Toomes incident.
âBut alpha, you could get hurt,â Peter tried, and he gave a hopeful glance to Tonyâs hand, hoping his fingers would stop moving where they hovered near the hologram.
Instead, Tony sighed. âPeter, this isnât a discussion.â
âIt should be! Youâre just as important as I am â â
âIâm going, Peter. End of discussion.â
In his mess of a nest, Peter whimpered as he remembered how his alpha used that tone on him. It wasnât often Tony used the deep, alpha baritone to give him commands or bark at him. The thought of it now was enough to bring the boy to near tears. His bottom lip wobbled, and he sniffled and another wave of hiccuped sobs came over him.Â
âPeter?â
The sound of a warm voice made his breath hitch in his throat. Boggled as his mind was, his first thought went to his alpha â to Tony. But the person standing in the doorway, disheveled and exhausted, was a different alpha. Steve Rogers must have come straight from the battlefield. He had flecks of shrapnel on his uniform, which looked tattered and soaked. His hair was wet, matted down onto his forehead, giving it a dirty blond look. Steve hesitated, and Peter knew it was because of the waves of distress he was letting loose, flooding the air of the bedroom. âWhereâs Tony?â Peter whispered.
Steveâs hesitation was all he needed to see to know something was wrong. âDonât panic,â he started, looking like he wanted to step further into the room and then thinking better of it. âHeâs in the med-bay right now, but was knocked unconscious by â â
Peter did sit around and wait for Steve to tell him the rest. He was on his feet surprisingly fast (at least he had his spider dexterity when it counted), brushing past the alpha. He heard Steve calling after him, but Peter shook his head and didnât wait around. If FRIDAY had granted Steve access to the private room he shared with Tony simply to relay the message in person, it had to be bad. All the way down to the med-bay, Peter thought about the breathing exercises heâd learned for delivery and practiced them in real time, one hand resting against the side of his belly. The elevator took him down without waiting around for Steve, and Peterâs toes wiggled impatiently against the floor as he waited for the doors to open. He looked down, realizing heâd forgotten to put on shoes.
When the elevator slid open and left him free to rush down the hall (he didnât waddle, dammit), his feet sounded noisy to his own ears, like the slapping sound was echoing and bouncing all over the place. He was on hyper alert, his senses going haywire. But everything stopped when he saw his alpha through the glass, attached to all sorts of wires and machines. Dr. Cho was hovering over him, using a penlight to check the dilation of his pupils. Peter rushed into the room. She looked up at him, offering him a sympathetic smile. âPeter, thereâs nothing to â â
But he cut her off, letting out a noise that was somewhere between a wail and a croak as he said, âAlpha.â
Tonyâs eyes flickered open. He offered Peter a lazy smile. âHey there, omega-mine,â he said, holding his hand out for Peter to clutch as he neared the bed. âThe doc hereâs got me on the good stuff. Says I took a pretty serious knock to the head.âÂ
Peterâs attention was diverted briefly to the bandage wrapped around his alphaâs forehead. He pressed his lips together. He knew his alpha could sense the emotions rolling through him. Peter hadnât even noticed Dr. Cho excuse herself. âYou canât keep doing this to us,â Peter whispered, letting go of Tonyâs hand to cradle his bump. There were tears in his eyes again. They clung to his lashes, and his bottom lip quivered. Standing up to his alpha wasnât something that came naturally to him, but this time it was too much. âI â I canât stay here all the time, worried about you. Youâre going to be the father to my pup Tony. Doesnât that mean anything to you?â
The alpha blinked, looking caught off guard by the sudden emotion flitting across his mateâs face. âOf course it does,â he said, his voice quiet. âBut you know the responsibility I have as Iron Man.â
Peter shook his head, squaring himself up a little, stubborn in his concern and hurt. He reeked of it, he knew. âAlpha, youâre hurt. You keep getting hurt. You have a responsibility to us. To our pup.â The tears that had built up spilled over his cheeks, creating fresh tracks. âPlease,â he whimpered, his shoulders slumping under the weight of the alphaâs stare. Peter knew Tony was hurt. As an omega, he knew it was his job to care for his alpha.Â
âOkay, okay,â Tony said, the tips of his fingers twitching, coaxing Peter towards him. âCome here. Omega-mine, look at me.â Once Peter did, the alpha met him with a tender expression. âAlphaâs sorry. Come lay with me?â Again, he wiggled his fingers.
Unable to resist, Peter scooted closer to the bed, until he could crawl into it with his alpha. He curled up against Tonyâs side, his bump forcing the alpha to scoot over some so they both had enough room. His alpha kissed the crown of his head, where he knew Tony could breathe in the scent of his shampoo. His alpha always said it comforted him, and knowing that brought Peter peace. He settled down, soothed by his alphaâs presence and his warmth. âI built a nest,â Peter said after a few moments of silent cuddling.Â
âDid you?â Tony sounded vaguely amused, like he already knew where this conversation was going. âHow did it turn out this time?â
A long pause. âIt â it went okay,â Peter said.
His alphaâs chest rumbled with a quiet laugh. âIâll donate a few more pillows to the cause.âÂ
Peter smiled, giggling and nosing at his alphaâs jaw. âThank you for the generosity, Mr. Stark.â He rubbed his hand over his belly, thoughtful. âI love you, alpha.â
âI love you, too.â

I'm having a shit day all around and the only way it could be better is to have my sister around lol but she's away for college. I was wondering if you could do a fic with Jules or Reg? Where they're having an awful day and seek sibling hugs? :) Thank you
Anon, this is such a mood right now and I hope you can see your sister soon <3 SW credit goes to @lumosinlove!
Regulus didnât miss the Snakes. Far from it, actuallyâhe hated them and everything they stood for, and he would never forgive them for what they did to his brother. For all he cared, they could burn alongside his parents.
But sometimesâŠsometimes he regretted dropping out of hockey.
The spotlight was constantly on Sirius, now; there were no more comparisons between the brothers, but that also meant the papers never looked deeper than the surface of Regulusâ personality. Sirius was overwhelmingly, ridiculously proud of him for going to collegeâalmost too proud, in Regulusâ opinionâand lit up like a candle whenever it was brought up at an interview.
Heâs my little brother, Sirius had said during the most recent conference. Iâm happy heâs following his heart for once.
So reporters fawned over him whenever they saw him at the grocery store and peppered him with endless questions, only to sprinkle in the bare minimum around all the amazing, wonderful things Sirius had done in the past 24 hours since they last interrogated him. They spoke to Regulus like he was some dumb high schooler who had dropped out because he couldnât handle the pressureâsimpering, sympathetic, and a little pitying.
They didnât care about him. They cared that he was the great Sirius Blackâs kid brother, and there was nothing he could do about it now that he was off the ice.
Regulus scrolled past a few more articles with his face plastered on the front, gripping the cool marble countertop tightly. Let it roll off, he reminded himself. They donât know you or Sirius.

See Sirius Blackâs New Interview Here!
âIâm heading out!â Remus called from the front door, snapping Regulusâ train of thought.
âAlright, drive safe.â
The door closed behind him with a clickand Regulus sighed, sliding down to sit on the floor. He rested his head back against the cabinets, simultaneously too upset to be productive and too energized to mope around. He lingered there for a few minutes, staring at the ceiling, before sighing again and heading into the basement. Only one thing would make him feel better.
âBonjour,â Sirius said absentmindedly as he skated along the outside of the rink.
âGot room for one more?â
Sirius looked up and grinned. âCourse.â
Lacing his skates was muscle memory, and pushing out onto the ice was more of a relief than he cared to admit. Part of him had been afraid it would be soured by his decision to leave the NHLâmaybe that was a silly thought, but hockey still held a large piece of his heart.
Maybe Iâll go back someday, he thought as he flicked a puck to Sirius. Not now, butâŠlater.
The puck bounced off the front of his skates. âYouâre thinking too loud.â
âYou donât think loud enough,â he countered.
Sirius barked a laugh and checked him lightly. âHead in the game, petit enfant. Head in the game.â
âI hate it when you call me that.â
âWhy do you think I do it?â
âBecause youâre an asshole.â He slapped the puck toward the goal, but it bounced off the crossbar. Irritation flared hot and white in his chest. âPass it back, yeah?â
âThereâs one right next to yourââ
âJust pass it back!â Regulus snapped. His throat felt tight; the back of his neck itched, and there was unwelcome pressure building behind his eyes.
Siriusâ teasing smile dimmed. âReg?â
He sniffled. âJust pass the fucking puck, okay?â
The soft shush of skates was familiar and more soothing than Regulus cared to admit. Nobody skated as quietly as Siriusâthere was a reason they called him âPadfootâ after all. He stared at the ground, willing the tears of hurt and frustration to vanish into thin air. Arms wound around him.
âStop it,â he demanded, though his voice broke. âSirius, let go.â
Sirius pulled him closer and rested his chin on top of his head. Regulus felt something crack a little inside, and his shoulders began to shake with silent sobs. Sirius rubbed his back like he was eight years old again, falling apart in the backyard because his feet hurt, and it was cold, and that stupid play just wasnât clicking.
âNobody likes me,â he blubbered. In any other scenario, he wouldâve felt like the biggest wuss in North America, but Sirius was safe. Sirius was home.
âPeople like you.â
âOnly because they like you better.â He took a few shallow gulps of air. âTheyâthey pretend to care anâ I canât even do anything about it anymore.â
âIs this about reporters?â
âItâs about everyone.â
Sirius sighed heavily. âRegââ
âItâs fine, I can handle itââ
âStop.â Silence fell over the rink. Sirius pulled back and held Regulusâ face between his hands, looking straight into his eyes. âYou are outstanding, and one of the bravest people I know. If reporters donât take the time to see that, they arenât worth your energy.â
Regulus wiped his cheek dry. âI know.â
âAnd the Lions think youâre pretty damn cool, too. James is still waiting for that rematch after you kicked his ass. Leoâs your best friend. Remus has been talking about that book you recommended for a week straight, which I donât know whether to thank you forââ That drew a weak laugh from him, and he saw Siriusâ face soften. ââand Iâm your brother. I missed you, and I love you. So please donât dwell on tabloids or some shit like that. They have no right to make you feel unloved.â
Regulus leaned forward into his chest with a few deep breaths. âHow are you so good at pep talks?â
âCaptain.â
âUgh, right.â
âI was terrible at them in the beginning,â he said. Regulus snorted. âAsk Pots or Kasey sometime. It was mortifying. Iâm pretty sure Coach almost took my badge away for that.â
âReally?â
âMhmm. Now come on, your slapshot still sucks.â
âIt does not!â Regulus protested, punching him in the arm as he pulled away. âMy slapshot is perfect!â
âTell that to the crossbar.â Sirius their skates together. âCome on, put some power into it!â
âI regret being related to you.â
âSays the one who got snot on my shirt five minutes ago.â
Regulusâ next (entirely perfect, thank you very much) slapshot went directly toward Siriusâ shin. He dodged, unfortunately, but the undignified yelp it earned him was well worth the trouble.

Not sure if you are taking request at all but if you do, do you mind writing something about Harry agreeing to be the birth photographer at the birth of his niece (tom and readerâs daughter) đ„șđ€
this was so interesting!! personally I am way too self conscious to have a photographer when I *eventually* have a kid aha, but I hope this is what u were looking for x x p.s. coming at my brand w the white hearts :)
tomholland x reader
summary: harry gets terrified by toms request about the birth of his child, but the reader smoothes it over
Having just had a round of golf with Harry, Tom invited him back to yours for a cuppa and a catch up too. After all the years of living and travelling with Harry by his side, Harry in particular was massively important to TOm. Especially since heâd moved in with you, Tom constantly made a super special effort to spend as much time with him as possible. Harry had a key and had no quam with letting himself in uninvited. Though since he had walked in at *the wrong time* a bit too frequently, and then the announcement of your pregnancy - he had cut down the unexpected visits.
âSo, I actually wanted to ask you something.â
âThis does not sound goodâ Harry furrowed his eyebrows together, looking suspiciously at his brother as he poured the kettle into the two matching âBrothers Trustâ mugs.
âSince when? I only ever ask you to do good things?â
âWe both absolutely know that is not true.â Harry deadpanned, pointing to the palm of his right hand which carried a large scar. Scar in question had been sustained during one of Tomâs incredibly âgoodâ aka stupid ideas.
âRight fair⊠Iâll allow that.â He receeded, placing the two mugs onto the counter in front of Harry. All it took was one look at the pale brown colour for Harry to turn his nose up, shooting Tom a look as though heâd just murdered a puppy. The elder of the two sighed, knowing exactly what his brothers snobbiness was about.
âSeriously?â
âItâs not your fault your awful at this, some people just arenât born with it.â With a sarky pat on the back Harry rounded the counter, pouring the freshly brewed but slightly too milky tea down the drain - before flicking the kettle on to make his own brew⊠properly this time.
Tom knew his brother well enough to know not to argue or protest, instead perching on the counter as he watched Harry work his âmagicâ.
âBut seriously me and Y/n have been talking about the birth cos you know, itâs not too far away now.â This was true, you were now only 3 weeks from your due date - but going by the size of you, you were ready to pop. Quite literally, you didn't know how much longer you could last.
âIâd be concerned if you werenât mate.â
âWell yeh and I basically um ⊠ had the idea to get a photographer for the birth right? Itâs quite an American thing but I donât want to forget anything and Iâm sure itâs gonna be magical.â In response, Harry slowly turned around, empty mug in hand and eyes fierce.
âAre you fucking stupid?!â
To be fair to Harry, that had pretty much been your reaction when Tom first suggested it - word for word. Heâd got the idea from one of the crew heâd filmed his most recent projects with, the guy had been raving about how beautiful it was and once heâd shown the pictures to Tom - he had to agree. Eventually Tom had worn you down to it and actually the idea of being able to save the moment you met your kid for the first time didnât sound too bad. You had firmly set the boundaries of no photos of your âlabour faceâ and absolutely nothing from the âother end of the bed.â
The worry for both of you, as it always was given Tomâs reputation, was privacy. Especially the birth of your child, having a stranger there had you straight refusing, even a friend seemed still a little invasive. It was only when Tom had remembered he had a brother (who you were also incredibly close to) who was handy with a camera. Even if he had no experience with this particular type of photography, Harry was a pretty safe pair of hands for a camera in any situation. God knows heâs had enough practice at it.
âNo hear me out, Y/n agreed too-â
âOf course this was your idea! So sheâs totally fine with me staring at her fanny through a camera lens?â
âHarryâ That was a warning tone, which the frizzy haired boy chose to completely ignore.
âNo I-I mean, you want me to stare at your finances bits? Isnât that some sort of weird incsest?â
âShut the fuck up about Y/nâs body. You OBVIOUSLY wouldnât be taking photos of that end, more like when the baby gets handed to us you know?â
âWhen its covered in gunk that came out of Y/n?â
âIâm pretty sure they clean it-â
âNot properly!â
Thankfully perhaps, the conversation was interrupted by the kettle clicking off, the water coming to a boil. With a huff Harry turned round, pouring and then stirring the tea as Tom watched his back from a distance. Neither spoke till after Harry finished, returning the milk to the fridge and then leaning against the counter top.
âLook I get it if you dont want to but your the only one Y/n trusts to do it and it means a lot to me.â
âY/n wants me to stare at her fanny?!â
âNo calm down you div. But you are the only one she trusts to be in the room when our first child is born. Will you just think about it?â
Harry opened his mouth to reply, probably protest, but before he could the front door opened and you called through the house.
âTom? Iâm home!â And becasue the boy was whipped he instantly trotted to the front door giving you a peck on your lips. He murmured to you that Harry was there, his lips moving against yours and you nodded with a small smile. You knew, instantly, that Tom in all his idiocy hadnât handled it well.
âWould you mind getting all the shopping from car? Pregnant and all, so Iâm not allowed to lift a finger.â You cocked your head, laughing as he rolled his eyes with a nod.
âIâm excited for when you can't play that card.â
âBut then Iâll be the women who pushed a baby out for you⊠the mother of your child.â  Winking, you then quickly moved through the house before he could protest, just knowing he was pulling a pouty face as he watched you sway away.
Once in the kitchen you saw Harry nursing his mug like it was the last drink on earth, hunched over it from where he was sitting on a stool on the breakfast bar.
â You lose at golf?â Opening the conversation, Harry instantly shot his head up, looking slightly terrified to see you.
âWha- no, no I didnât actually.â
âTom asked you huh?â He nodded, seemingly not wanting to commit with words. âI had exactly the same face when he first told me. Itâs weird right?â
âYeh no shit.â
âHeâs really keen on it though, I mean heâs like an excited puppy about the whole birth.â
âBut you want it too?â
âSort of. What I do want is for him to be happy though. And Iâm fairly certain heâs gonna be terrified throughout the whole birth while I wonât be in a position to help himl.â
âYouâll probably have other stuff on your mind to be fair.â You laughed, at that, nodding in agreement with him.
âJust a little. I did think though, who is a person who I can trust to look after him too during that... and even I draw a line at your dad⊠Look if you don't want to, I totally get it and I canât promise that I wonât be screaming at you during if you do. But it would comfort me to know you were there, with or without the bloody camera.â
âSeriously?â Rather than exclaiming it, Harry whispered in shock, not expecting this sort of a revelation.
âCourse H! You're my little brother too.â
âI might pass out.â
âSo will your brother, at least he wonât be on his own then.â
âIâll do it.â
âThnakyouthankyouthankyou!â You squealed, running over to hug him from the back, arms round his shoulders as he squirmed on the stool.
It was at this point Tom walked back in after unloading the ridiculous amount of baby clothes shopping you had done. Big strong Tom had to take 2 trips up and down the stairs to the nursery. Of course, all it took was a few words from you and Harry was falling at your feat. He was hardly surprised. Annoyingly you seemed to have this power over all the Hollands. They never stood a chance.
It wasnât till later than evening, long since Harry had left and the dishwasher had been put on after Tom had made a mess cooking you dinner. Only then did your phone ping with a text message from Sam.
Sam H
âI dont know what youâve done to Harry but Iâm scared, heâs binge watching one born every minute.â
Immediately you cracked up, knowing that it was his nervous energy and need to âbe preparedâ. Tom, who was lying behind you on the sofa whilst his hands caressing your stomach, jerked his head up intrigued as the what the âdingâ was. You showed him and he snorted in laughter too, whilst nuzzling his nose into your neck.
âHow did you bring him round by the way?â
âOh you know, Iâve got all of you wrapped round my little finger when I want.â
âThat you do⊠do you think I should be worried?â
âNah your just all softies.â Laughing softly, you pulled his arms tighter around you, wiggling back into him a bit more.â
âYou didnât tell him about the godparent thing though?â
âCourse not⊠we can give him a separate heart attack about that.â

Suptober Day 4 - Secrets
Dean is bed-warm and bleary-eyed, but it's not too much of a problem because cooking seems to be one of those things that comes to him naturally, like breathing or reloading his gun. He can do all of these with his eyes closed, which, in this case is pretty handy as his eyes are mostly closed this morning.
He's still barely awake as he beats the buttermilk into the eggs, adding flour, baking powder, sugar, oil, salt. The first of two frying pans gets hot fast, and Dean places the bacon down, enjoying the crackling sound of meat becoming crispy.Â
His life depends on remembering to turn on the coffee pot, and he is sure to double check and see if it has begun brewing before he moves on to ladling the batter into the pan.
This is the time of day Dean likes best: the slow, quiet mornings in the dim sunlight of his own kitchen where he can finally just breathe. The years of misery and grief had worn him down, but as the saying goes, coal makes diamonds, and since there was so much damn coal in his life before, he is now one fine diamond.
Or, anyhow, something along those lines. Dean's too tired for frickin' metaphors right now, okay?
The clatter of dog paws on wooden flooring makes Dean smile. Miracle has awoken and joined him in the kitchen; she is eyeing Dean expectantly, sniffing at the bacon-scented air with hopefulness.
"Hey there, girl," Dean murmurs quietly, so as not to wake the other occupants of the household. She wags as she greets him and he pats her head fondly. Never once, in all of the years preceding had Dean ever considered adopting a dog but now he knows that Miracle, in his unbiased opinion, is definitely a cut above the rest of those flea-bitten mongrels.
Fine, so maybe he is a little biased but Dean still believes he has the best dog in the world.
Miracle lies on the floor at his feet as he finishes cooking breakfast, she sleepily watches him flip pancakes but her cute little ears perk with interest as he places a couple slices of bacon on each of the three glass plates.Â
Dean darts a quick look down the hallway that leads toward the staircase, then glances at the backdoor to make sure it is still locked. He can't hear anyone stirring upstairs, so he raises his eyebrow at Miracle, who leaps to her feet with all the stealthy grace of an apex predator. She is ready and waiting for what has become their morning ritual.
Dean tosses her a piece of crisp bacon, and Miracle snaps it up mid-air, her body wriggling with glee as she wolfs it down.
"Remember, this is our secret, ma'am," he murmurs, giving her a gentle scritch behind the ears. Her tail thu-thumps on the floor, and Dean grins.Â
Light footsteps fall on the creaking stairs, and Dean sticks his hands behind his back like a naughty child caught misbehaving.
Jack is wearing one of Sam's old t-shirts and it's so comically big on him that it seems almost more of a nightgown. He's rubbing his eyes as he stumbles into the kitchen, but his smile is as bright as ever as he goes immediately to hug Dean.
There are many good things in this world that Dean doesn't believe he deserves, and Jack's forgiveness and love is pretty much the top of that list. But Dean's really making an effort to treat him better now and god, if the kid doesn't deserve every last good thing in this world. Jack had offered Dean a fresh start when he came back from Heaven; it was a second chance to make things right between them and Dean had taken the offer with no hesitation. He would rather throw himself into the Pit headfirst than hurt Jack again. Dean knows he can't erase the past but he sure as Hell can do whatever it takes to make things up to his kid.
He presses a kiss to the top of Jack's head; he smells like sleepy sweat and that expensive lemony shampoo Sam had sent him for his fourth birthday. "Sleep okay?"
Jack nods, and yawns. "No nightmares last night, so that was nice." He breaks their hug to pet Miracle, who fawns over him.
"Good," Dean says firmly. "Maybe that spell Sammy used actually can help." Jack nods, but doesn't answer, still attempting to wake up. He reaches for the coffee pot.
"Hey," Dean scolds gently, and Jack pauses, confused. "Wait until I pour your Dad a mug first."
A wry smile comes to Jack's face. They've both seen what happens on mornings where Cas doesn't get hot coffee and Dean and Jack have a silent agreement to avoid the circumstances causing those events at all costs.
"Help yourself to some pancakes," Dean pops half a slice of bacon into his mouth and continues talking while chewing, "Me nâ Cas will eat later. I'm gonna take Sunshine his elixir of life first."
Jack chuckles while Dean pours a very full cup of black coffee into an ugly, handmade pea-green mug, and carefully climbs the staircase he made with his own two hands over the past summer.Â
Their bedroom is upstairs and on the left in this little house that Dean built. He nudges the door he'd partially left open with his foot, maneuvering cautiously around the dresser and the clothes that were tossed onto the floor last night.Â
Cas is asleep, more or less, when Dean sits down beside him and places the coffee mug on the bedside table. He mumbles something that Dean can't quite understand, either because he is drowsy or because he may be speaking Enochian. Itâs hard to tell with his face half-pressed into the pillow.Â
Dean lets his fingers drift up Casâ shoulder and neck and then brushes his hair away from his face. He's going to have a bad case of bedhead when he gets up, Dean thinks with amusement.
"Wake up, Sweetheart," Dean tells him. "There's coffee."Â
Cas' breathes out slowly, his nose scrunches up, and then he's waking, shifting under the covers, squinting at Dean in the early morning light sneaking through the blinds.
"Heya, Cas." Dean is ridiculously in love with him. The confused look Cas gets when he first wakes up makes Dean think about crazy things, like saying 'screw the world' and crawling back into bed and burrowing under the covers with him. These are things that a younger, sadder Dean Winchester had never known and never would have believed he could have, ten, fifteen - hell, even just two years ago.
(Today's Dean Winchester is a much happier man.)
Cas stares deep in Dean's eyes as he half sits up, rumbling out the familiar, "Hello Dean," and moves closer to kiss Dean good-morning very thoroughly.
After a long minute Cas pulls back, breathless, and asks, "Wait, what did you just say about coffee?"
Still gathering his wits, Dean gestures vaguely to the steaming mug, and Cas turns back to him with a faint smile. "Have I mentioned that I love you, Dean?"Â
"Guh...not, uh, yet today," he manages to stutter out and Cas smirks as he raises the mug to take his first sip.
They go downstairs together, both so they can eat breakfast and so that Cas can get a refill, and in the process, they catch Jack in the act of handing Miracle a piece of bacon and a chunk of pancake.Â
Everyone freezes in a domestic tableau; the hunter, the angel, the nephilim-god, and the world's best dog.
Cas recovers first, and sighs. "You know, he gets this from you," he accuses Dean dryly, and goes straight over to refill his coffee mug.
"Traitor," Dean tells a wagging Miracle.Â
She isn't ashamed in the slightest.
