Ooh, this is good! I imagine this is how cat!Chief will separate Sinners by their likeability after Nightingale calms her down and can't return to human because the neutralizer is unavailable. Bet the Sinners will try to get cat!Chief to like them, but she's just too fickle and unpredictable to figure out and please.

A/N: Hi! So this is my first time writing and posting anything here so if its terrible please tell me nicely :). This is some AU where everyone lives and all is happy ok? Also english is not my first language so I apologize in advance for any grammar or spelling mistakes. Anyway, if it turns out that some of you like it I think I’d be willing to do a part 2 if you like. Hope you enjoy it! <3. Btw, the gif is not mine so credit to whoever made it.

Crack. That’s the sound of your heart breaking, ripped to pieces in just a few seconds. And no, you were not exaggerating. Seeing your boyfriend kissing someone else while taking off their clothes would do that to a person. And in his office of all places.

How did you not see that coming? They had a lot in common and they did spend a lot of time together but you were just so naïve thinking that he was the most trust-worthy person ever that you looked the other way and believed him when he told you she was “just a friend”. 

Just a friend my ass you thought as you calmly walked to your room. No running, that would draw attention to you and you didn’t need that. No crying either, because once you started you wouldn’t be able to stop. Walking down the hallway and taking the elevator to your floor feels like it takes forever. 

Time is funny that way. It has that annoying tendency to slow down or speed up at the worst times. Like when you were in college and the clock seemed to literally stop, you would look at the time and it was 10:20 am and check again after what felt like half an hour for it to be 10:25 am. Or like when you are having fun with your friends at a club and you see it’s 12:30 but when you look again a few minutes later it’s 2:40. Right now it feels like the former, time seems to have slowed down. Maybe Dr. Strange did something to it? No, that’s stupid, he wouldn’t play with time that way.

Finally the elevator pings open and you rush to your room. Well, it’s not only your room anymore. You share it with him and everything is a reminder of what you just saw. The art supplies on the desk by the window, the famous shield leaning against the wall near the door, the messy bed where you sleep together every night …

And every single thing brings tears to your eyes until finally, the dam breaks and you let the tears fall down. You bring your hand to your mouth to muffle a sob that brings you to your knees. Crying is the only thing you can do right now because your brain is stuck on a loop. All you can see is Steve kissing her, unbuttoning her shirt with one hand while the other grabbed her ass. And all you can hear are their moans, Sharon’s whimper when he touched her and his groan as he did so. 

And now you are full on crying and choking on air because that scene keeps replaying itself over and over no matter how much you want it to stop. And you do, Gosh you do because there is so much your heart can take and this is too much. It shatters you in more ways than one. It makes you question everything you thought you knew about him, about her, about your relationship and about yourself.

You remember the first time you met him. You were already in college and looking for an internship. Luckily you happened to be the niece of the one and only Pepper Potts. And who wouldn’t want to work near Earth's mightiest heroes? You sure did. You were studying journalism and communications in New York and working with the Avengers was the ultimate dream, one that was about to come true.

Your first day was uneventful, it consisted mainly of coffee runs, delivering files and passing messages along. That was until your third coffee run where you ran straight into a wall, well actually it wasn’t a wall but it felt like it. The coffee spilled everywhere, on your clothes and his, and you were going to fall on your butt if it wasn’t for him grabbing your arms to steady you. Imagine your surprise when you looked up to see Captain America himself.

And that’s the moment your love story started. It seemed like something straight out of a romantic comedy and you loved it. It started with flirting, a date and then another, him asking you to be his girlfriend and finally asking you to move in once you graduated. It felt like a fairytale.

Tony wasn't very happy about you and the Capsicle but he saw how happy you were so he tried to be happy too. Tony was your uncle even if you didn’t share any blood. Growing up you would visit your aunty Pepper in New York and he was always around, you even stayed at his house when Pepper and him had to work. So, you two became really close even before he became Iron Man and started dating your aunt. 

The same thing happened with Rhody. Your close relationship with Tony meant you were close to him too, seeing as he was one of the most important people in his life. Rhody treated you like his niece and was the only one he didn’t make fun of which you took as the ultimate compliment. 

So those three you knew before you started working at the compound and before Steve. But once you started working there you met the rest of the Avengers. Being Pepper and Tony's niece and Steve's girlfriend meant they all wanted to get to know you. 

You met Bruce Banner, the Hulk, and you became really close. But that was thanks to his close relation with Tony and all the time you spent with him working on his social media presence to make sure people saw him as more than just the green monster who smashes things. After a while of working there they promoted you and now you manage the Avengers social media.

Nat and Wanda became your best friends from the moment you met. You just clicked and hung out as much as possible, being the only girls on the team meant they were really happy to have another female added to the mix. As for Vision, he liked you because Wanda did, simple as that.

Bucky and Sam were the funniest people ever, their constant bickering always brought a smile to your face and they welcomed you with open arms. Happy that their friend had finally found someone to be with.

Thor and Clint were like the fun uncles you got to see every once in a while. The God of Thunder was like an excited puppy and would hug you till you couldn’t breath every time he came to Earth and Clint would joke around with you and FaceTime you when he was with his kids because they loved you (“best babysitter ever” that called you).

You met Peter when he started working for your uncle. He was a sweet kid and your love of memes, vines and pop culture made you instant friends. He would ask you for advice on girls and tell you science jokes.

But we all know not all fairytales have a happy ending and this one definitely didn’t. You’re feeling so many things at once. There’s anger, sadness, jealousy and something else you can’t put your finger on. You keep crying and are unable to move from your kneeling position on the floor. Checking the clock you realize you’ve been on the floor crying for an hour so you stand up.

Taking a shower seems like the best thing to do, your head is pounding and your face is all puffy. As you shower it hits you, that other feeling swirling around is inevitability. In a way you always thought he was too good for you, you always thought he would eventually get tired of you and trade you for someone else. 

It just hurt too much that it was her, the woman he shared so much with. The niece of Peggy Carter, his first love. An agent of S. H. I. E. L. D.  Someone who risked their life for the world like he did. Someone prettier. Someone better than you.

Yeah, you were definitely on a self-pity party. But you needed to be miserable for a while, to cry it all out, to hurt so that you could move on to the next stage of grief: anger. And when that came, there was no stopping you.

You weren’t a mean person, or a petty one. You gave everyone countless opportunities and forgave way too easily so you never really got angry. But when you did, when you said enough is enough, yeah, you better watch out. That could be the meanest bitch you ever met and she had no mercy.

So you got out of the shower, dried yourself and started getting ready. Tony was throwing yet another party about who knows what and you were not missing it. You liked parties, they were the perfect excuse for wearing pretty dresses and putting on make up. And tonight you were going all out. 

Your inner bitch was concocting a plan and you were going with it.

You hear the door open and prepare yourself to put on the best acting of your life. You take a deep breath and in the sweetest voice you can muster say: “Steve is that you babe?”

“Yeah doll it’s me” you hear him say. A few second later he pops into the bedroom and gives you a peck on the lips as you continue with your makeup.

“How was your day?” Steve asks as he takes off his clothes, probably to take a shower. “I missed you today, i went by your office but you weren’t there” he says with a small frown between his eyes. You could stare at his blue eyes forever but snap out of it when you remember what he did. 

“Oh not much, i left work earlier to get ready for tonight” you answer. Shit your work. You really did leave like that, but after tonight hopefully they’ll understand. “You should start getting ready, the party starts in thirty minutes”.

He smiles at you and tells you he’s going to take a quick shower before getting dressed. He goes to the bathroom and you feel like breaking the mirror but instead take a few deep breaths and remind yourself he’s getting what he deserves later on. With that in mind you finish applying you makeup and smile at yourself, you look good. Moving on to your hair you decide to do some loose waves and that’s it, you really don’t know how to make those complicated updos.

Steve gets out of the shower and starts putting on his suit. Men really do have it easier you think to yourself when you see all the work you had to do and he just showers and that’s it.

You take your dress out of the closet and admire it. It really is beautiful. It has a deep plunging neckline that shows a lot of cleavage and is skin tight with a slit on one side. The fact that it is silver with sequins makes it even better. Pepper helped you pick this dress. 

You put on the dress and admire yourself in the mirror. You look good. Behind you, you hear a whistle and turn around to see Steve watching you lust in his eyes. He comes closer and grabs you by the waist, pulling you to him.

“You look stunning” he says as he wets his bottom lip. “I can’t wait to take it off of you when we get back”. Lying cheating bastard.

“Can't wait” you lie as you wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him. This is just a kiss goodbye you tell yourself. One last kiss before he’s out of your life and probably runs to her. Tears threaten to fill your eyes but you hold them down. Not now.

You break the kiss when the need to breathe is too strong. Grabbing his hand you start walking towards the door and say: “Come on, we’re already late”.

The party had already started once you walk in and in true Tony fashion it is elegant and extravagant. Everyone is there: S. H. I. E. L. D. agents, the Avengers themselves, politicians and a few famous people. 

You and Steve walk to the bar and order drinks. A whiskey for him and a strawberry daiquiri for you, yes you are that basic but hey, it tastes awesome. He offers you his arm and with drinks in your hands you start looking for your friends. A lot of people stop you on the way, nobody wants to miss an opportunity to talk to Captain America.

One thing, or rather on person, catches your attention: Loki. He’s sitting on one of the cushions alone with a drink in his hand. It’s weird to see him there. Sure, he was redeeming himself for what he did in 2012 and Thor said he was doing better but he rarely left Asgard (he “hated mortals”) and when he did come to Earth it wasn’t for a party.

As if he could feel you staring he turns his head and locks his eyes with yours. You weren’t going to lie, he was gorgeous. He was incredibly tall, had those charming green eyes and was actually funny (but you’d never admit that to anyone). But you were in love with Steve and never saw him as anything more than Thor's hot brother. And everyone in the Avengers was hot so that’s not saying much.

You turn away from him and see Nat and Wanda on the dance floor and you tell Steve you’ll see him later and to go find his friends. He’ll need them after tonight you think to yourself. You greet the girls and start dancing with them, for a moment forgetting about what you saw today and putting Loki out of your mind.

The three of you decided to take a break and order some more drinks. Once at the bar Wanda orders for you and when your drinks arrive you go back to the dance floor. You spend the next few hours dancing, talking to your friends and pretending that nothing's wrong. Talking to Steve and pretending that nothing's wrong. Hugging Steve and pretending that nothing's wrong. Kissing Steve and pretending that nothing's wrong.

The fact that Sharon is at the party doesn’t help at all. When you see her talking or touching him you feel like you’re gonna lose it but you remain strong. You remind yourself of your plan and try to keep them out of your mind.

There’s a small stage at the far end of the room and you see your uncle Tony step on it and grab the microphone.

“Hello everyone and thank you for coming to another one of my amazing parties. I hope you are having a good time and taking advantage of the free bar over there” he points to the other side of the room and continues, “Now for what we have all been waiting for: karaoke! And yes, i want everyone to sing something because that’s the whole point of this. I'm looking at you Manchurian Candidate, you’re singing”.

With that he gets off the stage and passes the mic to Sam who decided to sing a Marvin Gaye song. He’s pretty good actually but you can’t fully concentrate on him because your mind is going a thousand miles an hour for what it’s going to happen later.

More people go up and sing their songs and you applaud when they’re done. Nobody is talking much, they're all too busy either laughing at the others performance, drinking or actually listening to the songs. You’re sitting with Steve to your right, Bruce to your left and the rest of the Avengers nearby. You’re your own little group.

It’s finally your turn and as you walk to the stage you can hear your friends whistling and cheering you on. Once you’re up on the stage you choose the song and start singing.

There's lipstick on your collar

You say she's just a friend now

As you continue singing you get more and more confident and take the mic. You walk off the little stage and over to your friends while dancing and you can see them smiling, clapping and having fun. They have no idea how much i mean all of this you think. You look at Steve and he’s completely oblivious. Good, you want to take him by surprise. You arrive at your little circle of friends and start singing the chorus.

You keep dancing and go back to back with Wanda who’s also singing along. You then turn to Nat and she grabs your hand and makes you do a little spin.

When you’re done people are clapping and cheering and you look to your friends to see them all smiling. You look at everyone and make a little mock bow and when you straighten you see Loki sitting on the same couch as before. But this time he’s looking at you and he’s laughing, not smiling and cheering but actually laughing.

You look back at your friends and say “Thank you, thank you” with a smile on your face. You continue , “I wanted to dedicate this song to my boyfriend Steve” you point at him.

“In case it wasn’t clear enough, i wanted to tell you that i saw you with Sharon”. You could hear a pin drop. No one was talking and all eyes were on you. This is what you wanted, to humiliate him as much as he did you. And what better way to do it than publicly? Oh but you weren’t done.

You could see Steve's face going pale and nobody knew where to look, if at you or at him. Tony look ready to murder him as did Rhody, Pepper, Peter and Bruce. Thor, Clint and Vision looked shocked. But Bucky, Sam, Nat and Wanda looked guilty.

Your heart breaks a little more when you realize they knew. You can’t really blame Bucky and Sam for not telling you, they were Steve's friends after all. But you thought the girls were your friends, that they would have told you. Apparently you overestimated that friendship.

You keep on smiling and continue “So… I’m breaking up with you. Hope she was a good fuck and wasn’t uncomfortable with the fact that you were once in love with her aunt”. You do a dramatic pause and make a little disgusted face. “Anyway, if I’m lucky i´ll never see you again. Have a great life!”

And with that, you walk off the stage and make your way to your friends. Steve is rooted to the spot and his face is red with embarrassment. You walk up to him, look him straight in the eye and give him an evil smile. He gulps and opens his mouth as if he’s about to say something and then closes it. He does is two more times and still nothing comes out.

You turn to your group and look at Wand and Nat, who can’t seem to be able to look you in the eye. You sigh and say: “Who want enemies when they can have you as their best friends right?”. They look up then and start talking. Telling you how sorry they are and to please forgive them. You raise your hand to silence them and they do.

You go to your aunt and uncle who look like there should be smoke coming out of their ears and say: “I’m gonna stay in a hotel for the night, can’t stand to be here anymore”. Tony scrunches his eyebrows and look at you like you’re crazy.

“Hell no. You’re staying here. We can find him another room to sleep in but you’re not leaving. If anyone’s leaving is Mr. Star-spangled over there” he practically screams the last part as he points at Steve.  

You take a deep breath and hug him. It takes him by surprise but he puts his arms around you. “I appreciate it uncle Tony but i can’t stay at the compound, it just hurts too much” you say as you let go. Turning to your aunt you hug her as well and say: “Thank you for everything but I quit”.

The moment those words leave your mouth everyone starts talking at the same time telling you how crazy you are and to think about it. You just smile at them and tell them you already made up your mind. “I'm gonna go pack a bag and ask Happy to take me to a hotel nearby. Please make sure he doesn’t follow” you say as you point to a still red-faced Captain America. 

With that you turn around and leave. The room is silent for a few seconds before you hear your friends all screaming at Steve. You look around for a second and notice that Loki is staring at you with a smirk on his face. When you look him in the eye he raises his glass at you ant takes a sip. 

You give him a small smile and walk through the doors towards the elevator.

Natasha had spent the first day without you listening to Dr Strange try to explain what is happening to you, your body, and your mind as you keep absorbing the darkness. She doesn’t understand the logistics of it, but what she does understand is that you have absorption magic as well as your writing abilities which explain the ‘how’. It explains how you could drain the magic left in her from when you brought her back to life, how she always have a calm effect on you simply by touching you. Pulling your magic out of her overpowers the darkness, so she knows that she’d be safe around you. But they still won’t let her in the cell.

Wanda has been crying nonstop, finding comfort in her twins but overwhelmed with the guilt knowing the reason they’re here is because of your sacrifice. Natasha definitely missed her; the two found comfort in each other, getting no sleep as they sit in bed together watching whatever is on TV to distract themselves. Strange has a plan, he says. He knows what to do, he says. He can fix this, he says. Natasha wants to have hope but she’s been struck down again and again in the last 5 years that it’s becoming too hard to hope. It’s hard to let herself hope when she knows losing you would be the worst heartbreak of all, especially when she just got you. What she had with Bruce wasn’t love, she thinks. It was loneliness. Two of the most isolated members of the team finding a little attraction and exploiting it desperately to try and build a connection similar to the ones they saw around them. Clint has a loving wife and kids, Tony has Pepper and now Morgan, Steve held out for years for Peggy and finally gets his happy ending with her. Natasha and Bruce could only have each other.

But now, now she has you. Or had. She spends at least a couple of hours a day sitting cross legged on the other side of your cell, watching you sleep and waiting for you to miraculously wake up. Sometimes you shake, twitch, purple radiating around your body. When you finally do wake up though, she’s not there. No one is. It’s late, dark, the only light being the spotlight in your cell.

Your eyes burst open wide as you take in a harsh and deep breath, falling into a coughing fit immediately at how much air you just took in. You roll off the bed - in your defence it is pretty small - and drop on your hands and knees, breathing deeply through your coughs, trying to calm the rapid beating in your chest. In, hold, out. Repeat. Only when your heart calmed down were you able to feel how cold the floor is. You stumble up to your bare feet and glance around confused to how you even got here.

The cell isn’t big at all, but not small either. It’s enough to fit the bed and a little toilet, enough to sit on the floor with your legs crossed, enough to throw the small foam ball they’ve given you, bouncing it off the see-through walls. They’re not glass, not plastic, but something else that you can’t shatter. You feel a sudden anger rise up within you at whoever dared to lock you up in here. Growling at your reflection you slam your fist against it. The sound echoes through but you can’t feel any pain. You only feel the rage and the hints of purple at your fingertips. But they’re only hints. The cell is repressing your magic. This makes you even angrier, this time kicking your bed, throwing the mattress, pillow, the thin duvet around the cell.

“Let me out!” You let out a roar and bang your fists again for a minute or two until you hear fast footsteps. The lights turn on and you squint at the brightness piercing your eyes.

“You’re up. Oh, thank God you’re okay.” Her voice is shaky and you recognise that subtle Sokovian accent. Then you remember. Her. You did this for her.

“Let me out of here, you fucking psycho.” You say lowly, a harsh and cold tone. This is her fault. You wouldn’t be in this cell right now if it wasn’t for her and her pathetic ways of coping. You’d be with Natasha right now cuddled up in bed. Instead, you’re locked up with darkness in you and whatever good is left is cowering in the shadows.

“Y/N, you don’t mean that.” She stutters a little, stepping closer to the cell into the light where you can see her tired and puffy eyes. You bang on the wall again and she flinches back, eyes wide and teary. The guilt she was already feeling intensifies even more. “I’m so sorry.” She sobs out but you growl and smash your head against the cell this time, hands planted firmly on the wall.

“The second I get out of here I’m going to drain every last inch of magic out of you and watch your fucking skeleton drop dead. Let me out! Open the fucking cell!” You scream out, slapping your open hands against the barrier until a comforting voice stops you.

“Baby…” You freeze up at the sound of Natasha voice, almost tearing up at finally hearing her soothing tone. You missed her. God, you really fucking missed her but she can’t see you like this. You turn around quickly and rush to the corner of the cell, slipping down the wall until you’re sitting with your knees up to your chest. “Baby, this isn’t you.” She whispers, her hand on the outside of the wall where yours just was. You don’t look at her, don’t let her look at you. She can’t see this. “Please look at me.” You ignore her pleas, tears free falling now as you drop your face into your crossed arms. You can hear her ragged breathing as she tries to compose herself, most likely crying too. “We’ll figure this out. Together.” You know she’s not angry with you when she says that so you suck the tears back up and quickly get to your feet, stumbling to the wall. She steps back a little, taken back by your speed.

“Please, Nat, let me out. Please. I’ll be good, I promise I’ll be good.” You plead over and over again, your forehead pressed to hers through the wall. Her eyes are a different green now, light but broken without their usual glint of happiness. Her lips quiver as she swallows her sobs down. “Please. Please, please, please open the cell. I need you. Fuck, I need you so bad, baby. I just want you in my arms. That’s all I need.” You beg and beg and beg until she steps back and shakes her head. She sees through you. She knows you want her, and you do, part of you does at least. But that’s not all you want. She can tell by the way you glance over to Wanda, eyes turning darker.

“This isn’t you.” Natasha’s tone is colder now and you grunt, slamming your head again. She jumps back with a gasp and is in Wanda’s arms immediately which only fuels your anger.

“Get your fucking hands off of my girlfriend! You’re fucking poison! I’ll kill you! I’ll fucking kill you!” You yell out as they rush out of the room and within seconds your screams die down as the cell is filled with a gas. Your head starts spinning and before you can sit down you fall, head dropping onto the hard floor.

“It’s not your fault. This isn’t her talking, it’s the darkness. You know she didn’t mean any of it.” Natasha whispers to Wanda as the girl sobs into her chest. Her fingers soothingly trail up and down Wanda’s back, calming her down by the second. She knows you didn’t mean it, but seeing you say those words like you did mean it really shocked her. Dark thoughts are still your thoughts…just the scary ones hidden deep within you coming up to the surface. So that would mean part of you really does blame Wanda for what happened.

“I-I’m sorry.” Wanda breathes out through her sobs, lifting her head a little. Nat’s heart breaks at her tear-filled eyes. She’s been a mentor to this girl since she joined the Avengers, and somehow she’s gone through even more pain since then. They all need a break from this, especially Wanda. 

“Hey, it’s okay. It’s not your fault. You said she chose to do this.” Natasha says in a gentle tone, running her fingers through Wanda’s hair. The girl sniffles and nods.

“She did. It was her plan.” Wanda remembers when you told her what you wanted to do and she initially said no and tried to protest, but you were too stubborn. There wasn’t time to think for any longer. You insisted, but she still feels like it’s her fault. When will she stop causing pain and destruction to those around her?

“Exactly. Y/N knows that, she’ll remember that. She just needs a little…a little light.” Natasha trails on, her hand freezing as a thought pops into her head. “Hey, I got an idea.” Wanda scoffs at her and laughs softly.

“I already know what you’re thinking.” She teases, booping her nose.

“Get out of my head.” Natasha glares playfully at her and the girl giggles in response before letting out a sigh, resting her head back down on Natasha’s chest. What she wants to do could end in her getting hurt badly. Wanda’s already lost enough.

“It’s too dangerous.” She tries to say it with no room for protest in her voice but it comes out shaky and filled with fear. Natasha rests a hand on her cheek to soothe her.

“She won’t hurt me. I know she won’t.” Nat reassures her and sighs, coming up with a strategy plan on how to talk to you. It’s risky but she hopes they can dampen your magic a little more just to be on the safe side. Of course you won’t hurt Natasha because you want her. You said you wanted her and you meant it.

“Because it’s not you she’s angry with, it’s me.” Wanda sighs this time, pulling away from Nat to stretch her back a little. You’re likely to be awake in a couple of minutes.

“I didn’t say that.” Nat says stubbornly.

“You thought it.” Nat rolls her eyes at Wanda and stands up, holding her hand out for the girl to grab.

“Okay mind reader, can we just try it out please?” They make their way to your cell silently, anxiety radiating off of them.

By the time you’re back up, your head is still spinning and foggy. You’re back on the bed and although it’s not the most comfortable it’s still better than the floor. But you’re not the only one here; you feel eyes boring holes into the side of your head and quickly turn your head to see those green eyes staring at you. She’s in the cell this time, knees up to her chest and back against the wall.

“Hi.” She says and your mind flashes back to your first kiss. 

“Hi.” You whisper back, slowly sitting up. You don’t like the dynamic of you being so above her so you stand up, roughly push the bad to the other wall and sit down again the wall adjacent to hers, mimicking her position. You feel considerably weaker than you did before, the magic dampening device even stronger now. But perhaps this is exactly what you need.

“You really scared me.” Her voices comes out soft, so soft and you’re scared she’s still scared of you so you don’t move. You notice Wanda lingering outside the cell, not too close but not too far. She’s the brawn. 

“I know.” You whisper gently.

“I asked you not to do anything stupid.” You flash back to that moment but shake the memory out of your head. She looked so disappointed when you ran away from her, so scared and worried when Agatha’s magic was draining into you.

“I’m the top here.” You mumble playfully and she rolls her eyes at you, biting her bottom lip to stop the smile threatening to show.

“Shush.” You laugh softly at that and rest your chin on your knees, watching her watching you. Her expression turns serious. “Y/N, this isn’t something casual. I didn’t want that.” Casual? When have you ever indicated that you wanted casual? Your feelings have been intense from the very beginning and you’ve made that perfectly clear.

“I kn-” She interrupts you before you can respond.

“No. Let me finish.” She waits and you say nothing so she continues. “It’s no secret that I’m older than you. You’re just getting into this superhero scene while I’ve been at this for years. I’m tired. And what I need from you, what I’ve needed from you was never casual. We’re not just dating. I’m giving you my heart, and you’re giving me yours. I don’t need you being reckless and hurting yourself, hurting me in the process-” You heart starts racing faster and faster, predicting what she’s about to do. That’s the last thing you want, that’s the absolute last thing you could ever want. She means the world to you, she’s all you have left. Wanda, Strange, all of the Avengers. They’re all you have left.

“Please don’t break up with me. Please. I can’t lose you.” You beg, tears spilling out of your eyes at the mere thought of that happening. She quickly moves from her position, sitting closer to you, grabbing your face in her hands. You lean into her familiar touch with a sigh.

“Oh, baby, I’m not breaking up with you. That’s the last thing I want to do. I just want you to understand that I…that you mean a lot to me. And that means I need you to take care of yourself and not jump into the next dangerous problem you think you have to fix. There are other ways.” You can’t get them out of your head when she mentioned taking care of yourself and danger. You never took care of yourself, or them, and maybe that’s why it happened. You’ve always been an impulsive person and telling Nat what you’re about to say is also impulsive but you don’t care anymore. She won’t judge you, she’s made that clear already.

“My parents died.” You blurt out and notice Wanda moving closer to the cell. “It was…God, I was just so stupid. It was my fault-” You take a shaky breath and let out an empty laugh at how ridiculous the situation was. 

“Babe, don’t do-” Nat interrupts you with a frown and you interrupt her right back. She doesn’t know what happened. Even if you explain it to her, she wasn’t there. You’ve been blaming yourself for yours because it is directly your doing that killed them…twice.

“No, Natasha, it was my fault. I started a fire. I was just…I was so mad at them for pulling me out of school for my powers. So I was just getting high everyday, and got distracted. Went out to get snacks, left the blunt out and a rag caught on fire. Then everything else did. Them included.” She lets out a gasp, thumb rubbing gently against your cheek to keep you calm. There’s a couple tears pooling up in her eyes. “I got back and they were already dead so I did the only thing I could do and wrote. That’s the first time I felt dark magic.” You remember how exhilarating it was, but also how scary. You didn’t know how to act in the moment, you could barely think. All you saw was their bodies, then yellow and purple as they came back. You just wanted them back. “I just…watched their skin unblister, watched them screaming as they relived it. You should have seen the look in their eyes, Nat, they hated me. They hated what I done. They made me undo it and I had to watch it all over again as they burned to death. It was my fault.” You break out into a sob as Nat wipes your tears away, leaving soft pecks against your lips to calm you. She does, she always does. You can’t live without her and you know it, not after you’ve had her.

“You can’t beat yourself up over the past, Y/N. You were younger, you made mistakes, and you learnt from them.” You’ve heard this before and you still refuse to believe it, scoffing at her words angrily.

“Did I? I came here and brought you back, didn’t I? Tony? Gamora? I would have been able to fight this darkness better if I didn’t already have so much in me.” You curse yourself for your mistakes. Sure, everything you’ve done has lead you to where you are now, but how many lives had to be taken for that? You lost your family, for what? A temporary high and stubbornness? You lost Jasmine, you lost yourself to the darkness over and over again. You almost lost Nat.

“You’re already fighting it. Look at yourself.” Nat holds her hand out and the yellow magic starts swirling towards you. She’s right and you know she’s right but you’re too stubborn to say it. Instead you hold her hand as her energy calms you down.

“I feel you.” Wanda whispers as the cell opens. You let her into your mind and she lets you into hers, feeling the trauma and pain you’ve both experienced. “It’s okay. We’ll work through it. Just don’t kill me, please.” You let out a chuckle at her playfulness before standing up. She hesitates before stepping towards you and you pull her in for a hug.

“I’m so sorry for what I said.” She relaxes in your arms once you apologise and you then realise this is probably your first time hugging her properly like this. You take this moment to tighten your hold as she buries her face in your neck.

“It’s okay, it wasn’t you.” She says reassuringly, hands around your waist and squeezing comfortingly until you both pull back.

“It’s not okay, but I’ll make it up to you eventually.” She gives you a small smile and tucks her hair behind her ear. “Is it…is it okay if I get out of here? I’ll stay close to Nat.” Wanda nods in response but Nat’s hand grabs onto yours before Wanda can say anything. She’s pulling you out of the cell already, having missed you so much that there’s a lot of catching up to do. For now though, all you want to do is hold her in your arms.

“I think we’ll be fine. Just let me know if it gets too hard.” Nat looks at you sternly but you give her a cheesy smile and quick kiss.

“Nothing is hard when you’re with me.” That evening you all sat in the cinema room - yes, Tony had installed a cinema room just because he can - and watched a universal film the twins wanted to watch. But halfway through having Nat squirming in your arms, ass rubbing against you, there was nothing you could do but storm out with a tight hold on your wrist. She giggles the whole way to your room…

I thought of roles for some of the other Avengers for my SamBucky AU I’m calling School of Fish AU bc school?? fish?? Bucky’s a teacher and Sam’s a fisherman?? get it?? lol

Like I said previously, Sam’s the local fisherman. He’s living with Sarah and helping her raise the boys like a good uncle and he meets Bucky and is like 👀. Bucky’s the history teacher at the local high school. He’s still pining over his childhood best friend Steve who recently got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Peggy.

Steve Rogers - I see him running a mechanic shop for some reason??? I don't know why but that's what I'm feeling rn. He’s been friends with Bucky his whole life and thinks of him as his brother. He doesn’t know Bucky’s in love with him bc he’s oblivious. 

Peggy Carter - I don't actually know what she'd do for work (maybe the English teacher??) but every Tuesday and Thursday evening she teaches a self defense class at the community center. Nat and Valkyrie help co-teach from time to time. She does know Bucky's in love with Steve because she's not oblivious but isn't jealous or anything like that. She understands why Bucky would fall for Steve and wants Bucky to be happy. They actually get along pretty well.

Sarah Wilson - Helps with the family fishing business like in canon. Also like in canon she’s a single mom taking care of Cass and AJ with Sam’s help. Every Saturday is lady’s night where she, Pepper, May, Wanda, Natasha, Peggy, and other ladies of the mcu I’m forgetting get together at Valkyrie’s bar and just chill together. I just want more woman friendships in the mcu so I’m giving it to myself as a treat. 

Tony Stark - Stay at home dad of Morgan. Before Morgan was born he was a scientist in the nearby city. He is the PTA’s number one volunteer for stuff. Married to badass business woman Pepper Potts. #malewife

Pepper Potts - Like I said, badass business woman. I think Aunt May would be a business partner just because I love imagining those two having a friendship 👌 I don’t actually know what the business would be (I haven’t thought that far ahead) but she works in the city that’s like 30 minutes away.

Peter Parker - High school student who tutors and babysits a bunch of the younger kids in the town they live in. Still a super smart nerd and lives with Aunt May just minus the super powers. Good friends with Ned, Shuri, and Michelle.

Wanda and Vision Maximoff - Owners of the small bakery/café in the town square just because that seems like it would be their jam. Met in college and married about a year ago with twin sons on the way.

Natasha Romanoff - Besties with Clint. No one actually knows what she does for a living or what her life was like before she moved to the town a few years ago. I honestly don't know what she’d do for a living but it wouldn't be as exciting as everyone in town thinks it is lol

Clint Barton - Owns a farm a few miles out of town where he lives with Laura and the kids. Goes to the farmers market in town every weekend to sell the stuff they grow on the farm. Laura is the local librarian because she gives me librarian vibes.

Bruce Banner - The science teacher at the high school. He and Tony are old college roommates bc science bros.

Valkyrie - She owns the bar in town and know everyone's secrets because they get drunk and tell her. Very bi and besties with Thor. 

Thor Odinson - High school gym teacher seems obvious but it just suits him okay?? Coach of the football team too. He's a lot of the kids favorite teacher just because he's so kind and understanding. If a student has a problem they'll most likely go to Mr. Odinson for help. In a long distance relationship with Dr. Jane Foster who’s doing science-y stuff in a different state but should be coming home soon.

Loki Odinson - Drama teacher. I picture him being like Mrs. Darbus from High School ​Musical.

T'Challa - The charismatic town mayor who’s always reeclected because everyone loves him and he's doing a fantastic job running the town.

Shuri - T’Challa’s younger sister and student at the local high school. She and Peter have a friendly science rivalry that has caused a few minor fires and explosions.

Dr. Stephen Strange - I feel like doctor at the local hospital is too obvious but I don't know what else he'd be?? A librarian maybe?? I'm vibing with doctor tho.

I know I'm still missing a bunch of characters but that’s all I’ve got so far. I kinda like the idea that the Guardians of the Galaxy are a group of hippies that just showed up in town one day and haven’t left lol

The Subject On Ronald McDonald's Family:

Ok, so with my fanfiction, one would be revolving around Ronald McDonald along with other mascots within the Masco Archipelago (a realm where mascots live). With Ronald, I've been very contemplative on his parentage.

-Choice A: Bozo The World's Most Famous Clown And Cerise The Mime. The story is supposed to have been that, long before becoming the World's Most Famous Clown, Bozo went with his buddies to Paris, France. There, he'd meet the lovely mime named Cerise Noir. Long story short, the two woud marry and become parents to three children. The eldest would be Gail (the future mother of Wendy), their adopted son being Mac Tonight and then Ronald would be the youngest.

-Choice B: Bozo With Pretty Peggy Pepper. Back in the day, Dr. Pepper had a mascot named Pretty Peggy Pepper (link here: https://drpeppermuseum.com/peggy-peppers-emporium/ ), an upbeat young lass who would encourage people to drink the titular soda (people thought Dr. Pepper was an energy drink...). When in Texas, Bozo would meet Peggy and have Gail, Mac and Ronald.

-Choice C: Donald McDonald and Rosie Red. Basically from the original concept art for a McDonald's commercial: https://twitter.com/McDonaldsOOC/status/1411524116256116737

Anyway, the story would be the Donald (the original Willard Scott "Ronald") had been happily married to his childhood sweetheart. They got hitched had Ronald with Mac Tonight still being the family's adopted son.

-Choice D: Donald McDonald With Cerise Noir.

-Choice E: Donald McDonald With Pretty Peggy Pepper.

I'm still pretty contemplative on some of this. For one, using Pretty Peggy Pepper as, according to one source, her model was a teenager. Yet, Peggy Pepper's own age is vague. As for Bozo, on the one hand it would make sense for him to have been Ronald's old man as Bozo's actor, Willard Scott, took part in Ronald's creation. Not to mention, Bozo was a mascot, himself, for Capitol Records. Yet, it would also be fitting to have Willard Scott's Ronald/Donald serve as Ronald's dad.

And should Ronald have any siblings at all or should he be an only child? Should Mac Tonight serve as his adopted brother? Should Gail/Wendy's Mom be their sister?

Istg the amount of people who are saying Peter is stealing form Miles because "the Spider-verse belongs to Miles" Are fking stupid. The Spider-verse was a thing before Miles and it doesn't "belong" to anyone, like I know you don't read the comics but like do some research before saying something stupid. Even some of the people who rag on mcu!Spidey called you out like... Damn.

Let’s get one thing straight. MCU Peter is not stealing from Miles at all. 

I don’t how why people can’t understand that this is MCU Peter, not the comic version. Things are going to change. This means he’s going to have a different characterization. And besides, all of the things MCU Peter has, he’s had it in the comics as well.

Let’s put some things I found when people want to complain that MCU Peter is stealing from Miles:

Father-son/mentor relationship with Tony Stark:

‘A poor hero like Miles’. 

Wasn’t Peter always poor in the comics and previous movies? And how many times do I have to tell yall Peter’s not poor in the MCU? Do you really think he would be poor with the fancy ass apartment he had in Civil War or that May can afford to change apartments constantly? Or the fact that the kid’s aunt can afford him good clothes and shoes? He might not be as rich as Tony or Flash but Peter’s def not poor in the MCU. What? Do you want him to be rich in the MCU? In that case, Michelle, Ned, and the whole bunch are stealing from Miles too. 

‘Miles suffered from pressure after Peter died like MCU Peter suffered after Ironman died’

So Peter didn’t originally suffer after Uncle Ben died? Is Peter’s main character trait not guilt? The pressure of not saving his loved ones? Is this not a normal reaction to someone’s death? And the fact that Peter suffered from pressure has nothing to do with Miles, that’s the MCU wanting to have Tom Holland as RDJ’s successor (as a part of their IRL and on-screen relationship) in the MCU. Compare Far from home to the first Iron Man movie. 

‘Miles has to prove himself like MCU Peter’

Deep sigh. I’ll repeat it again. MCU PETER. The MCU has an on-going theme where they lose something (hammer, suit, shield, etc) and have to prove they’re worthy of being heroes to get those things again. The MCU has this MO where they make each hero realize the power resides within them, the other things are just accessories. This happens with every hero of the franchise; Peter is not an exception to this. Did they really watch the movies? This again, has nothing to do with Miles. This is the MCU.

Is not like it’s Tony’s job to upgrade the team’s equipment. No, this can’t be possible, it’s not like that’s what Tony’s been doing for a very long time.

Upgraded Redwing for Sam Wilson.

Upgraded the Widow bites for Natasha Romanoff.

Made a better uniform/suit and repaired/upgraded Cap’s shield.

Made the tri-blade, ballistic, acid tip, net. Upgraded Clint’s quiver.

Made the Rescue suit for Pepper.

Made and upgraded War Machine’s suit.

AND MORE.

This is exactly what Shuri does as well in the MCU. What Hank Pym does. Nothing to do with Miles again.

‘Don't think what Peter would do, be yourself, Miles- is basically the same on the MCU just change Peter to Tony’

Tony said: ‘ Don't do anything I would do, and don't do anything I wouldn't do. There's a little gray area in there. That's where you operate.’ How is that the same thing? Peter is telling Miles to be like Miles, himself. Tony told Peter not to be like Tony, be better THAN Tony. ANY mentor would want that for their protegés. Don’t act like this is something new and original created specifically only for Miles and Miles only. I wouldn’t be surprised if Clint tells Kate the same thing in the upcoming series. They do this with every mentor-mentee/father-son/parental relationship in the MCU, this is not news:

Coulson and Daisy:

T’challa and T’chaka:

T’chaka: Have you not prepared to be King your whole life? Have you not trained and studied, been by my side? T’challa: I am not ready to be without you. Tell me how to best protect Wakanda. I want to be a great King, Baba. Just like you. T’chaka: You're a good man with a good heart. And it's hard for a good man to be King.

Monica and Carol:

Ancient One and Strange:

Hank and Darren:

Sharon and Peggy:

“As you all know, a threat has risen. Commander Johann Schmidt has his eyes on something new; they call it the Tesseract. The power it holds is unlimited and unknown. If it falls into the wrong hands, especially in times like these, this is a war we won’t win. Meeting dismissed.” Dr. Erksine said, as all the agents seated around the table got up, desperate to go home. 

You had dozed out ages ago, and would’ve practically fallen asleep if it weren’t for Howard. He laid a hand on your shoulder and shook you. 

“Y/N/N, it’s time to go. C’mon. I heard your favorite radio show is on tonight.”

“Thanks, Howwie. It’s just, there’s something-”

“This Tesseract thing? I know were supposed to believe everything Dr. Erksine tells us, but this is a stretch-”

“Except it isn’t, Howard. I got a bad feeling about this one. You know how strong my intuition is.”

“I know. That’s what worries me.”

PRESENT DAY, 2012

BRUCE BANNER’S LAB ON THE HELLICARRIER

The Hellicarrier is quiet as it floats across the night sky, and you absentmindedly type some data that Tony had given you a few minutes ago. You weren’t going to  lie; you were scared then, and you are scared now. It seems like history is repeating itself; some bad dude wants to get his hands on the Tesseract and if he isn’t stopped, a lot of people will die.

Only difference was, you didn’t have a brother this time. 

Blinking back the tears that were about to escape, you kept typing as Dr. Banner was scanning the scepter for gamma radiation, and Tony was solving several different equations and theorems and god knows what all at once. 

“Well, we’re going somewhere now. The  gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig's reports on the Tesseract. But it's gonna take weeks to process.” Banner said, letting out a sigh, laying down the object he was using to measure gamma readings on Loki’s scepter.

“We bypass their mainframe and direct route to the Homer Cluster we can clock this at around 600 teraflops.” Tony replied from across the room.

“And all I packed was a toothbrush.” Bruce said, going back to the computer.

“You know you should come by Stark tower sometime. Top ten floors, all R and D. You’d love it, it’s Candy Land. I’m talking to you too, Auntie. Paris must be as boring as-”

“How- Tony, I can promise you its not. Paris is fine.”

“But Pepper and I miss you in New York. Think about it, will you?”

“Sure will, hun.”

“Thank you for the invitation, Mr. Stark. But last time I was in New York- I sort of broke Harlem.” Dr. Banner said. 

“Well I promise it’s a stress-free environment. No distractions, no surprises.” Tony says, while poking Bruce in his side with an electric current.

“Tony, leave him be!” you say, taking the current away from him. 

“Hey! Are you two nuts?” Steve says, scolding Tony as he walks in. 

“Oops. Jury’s here. Tell em your secret, Dr. Banner. Bongo drums, mellow jazz, bag of weed?”

“You think is is funny, Mr. Stark? Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship? No offense, Dr. Banner. You neither, Y/N.

“None taken, sir.” Bruce says, while still working on the scepter.

“Don’t worry about it, cap.” you say, while finally snatching the current from Tony’s hand and placing it down on the countertop to continue working.

“You- you don’t have to worry, capsicle. Last time I checked, you spent over 66 years stuck in the ice. You don’t know how anything works here. This little gadget-” he getsures to the comm in his hand. “will let us know everything S.H.I.E.L.D has been hiding from us since the beginning of it’s existence.”

“This is going to cause trouble.”

“Ding, ding, ding. We got a winner. Congratulations, you’ve just won a free box of popsicles. Or is that too cold?”

“What have you three been doing all this time?” Fury’s voice cuts in as he walks into the lab. “You’re supposed to be locating the Tesseract.” 

“We are. The model’s locked and we’re sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we’ll have the location within have a mile.”

“You’ll get your cube back, director.” You say, crossing your arms, after hopping to sit on the table with Tony. 

“No muss, no fuss.” he passes you the blueberry bag, then looks at the screen “What is ‘Phase 2′ anyway?”

At this point, Steve has had enough and decided to intervene. “Phase 2 is S.H.I.E.L.D uses the cube to make weapons. Sorry, the computer was moving a little too slowly for my taste.”

“Captain Rogers, we have gathered every part of information possible related to the Tesseract. This does not mean-” He’s interrupted by none other than Tony.

“What about this Nick? What were you lying?” Tony said, turning the computer so Fury could see it clearly. 

Steve takes one look between the two men, but keeps his gaze on Tony, and says “I was wrong director. The world hasn’t changed a bit.”

Thor and Natasha enter the room and Bruce asks them “Did you two know about this?”

“Dr. Banner, you might want to think about removing yourself from the premises.” Natasha said.

“I was in Calcutta, I’m pretty sure I can handle this, Ms. Romanoff.”

“Loki’s been manipulating you.”

“And you’ve been doing what exactly?” 

“Dr. Banner, You didn’t come here because I batted my eyelashes at you.” She fired back, crossing her arms. 

You hopped off the table, and on the hilt of the sword on your left side, if tensions just so happened to go to another level. 

“And I’m not leaving because you’re getting a little twitchy. What I do want to know is why S.H.I.E.L.D is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction!”

NEW YORK, JANUARY 1943

SSR HQ

“Starks, Ms. Carter, General Philipps, should the case arise that we get our hands on this - ‘Tesseract’ - as it appears, it shall not, under any circumstances, be used for weapons of mass destruction. It goes against everything we stand for. Everything the SSR stands for.” Erksine says, addressing the group.

“But Dr. Erksine, The rise of facism in Europe is a threat to our national security, and if the SSR can not make weapons of not necessarily of mass destruction, but weapons to protect the country, how are we to protect the nation?” General Philipps said from across the table. 

“Excellent question, General. That’s were Y/N and  comes in. Y/N, if you will.” Erksine said, gesturing to you.

Straightening yourself up, you opened a file. “I’ve thought of this concept for the past couple of months- although just a concept, It would, has General Philipps mentioned, make weapons not of destruction, but of protection. This is why, I’ve decided to name the concept- S.H.I.E.L.D. Get it? A shield is supposed to protect, and that’s what this will do.”

“And what does it stand for, Y/N?” Peggy asks. 

“Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.”

“And it’s purpose?”

“To Protect and Serve, Dr. Erksine.”

“I like it, but we will discuss  it further on Monday. Meeting Adjourned.”

BRUCE BANNER’S LAB ON THE HELLICARRIER

“And I’m not leaving because you’re getting a little twitchy. What I do want to know is why S.H.I.E.L.D is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction!”

“Banner, calm down.” Natasha said cautiously. 

“No, Romanoff. He had every right to be mad and confused. With all respect, director, me and my brother did not start S.H.I.E.L.D so we could pull stuff like this.” you said.

“But we have a reason, Stark. It’s because-” Fury points to Thor “him.”

“Me?” Thor questions.

“Yes, you. Last year Earth had a visitor from another planet who held a grudge on a small town. We learned then that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned.” He finishes, diverting his eye to you, but saying nothing.

“Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies, as a signal to all the realms that Earth is ready for a higher form of war.” Thor booms.

“A higher form of war?” Steve questions.

“You had us in a corner, Thor, we had no choice. We had to come up with something.” Nick fired back.

“A nuclear deterrent. Cause that always calms everything down.” said Tony.

“Remind me again how you made your fortune, Mr. Stark?” Fury asked.

“I’m sure if Stark industries still made weapons you both would be knee-deep in-” Steve was cut off by you.

“That’s enough, Steve! Leave it alone!” you exclaimed.

“No, hold up capsicle, how is this about us?” Tony asked, in a tempting manner.

“Are you midgardians really this naïve?” Thor asked.

“Oh please, are you that immature?” Natasha said, looking between Thor and Fury. 

“Everyone, we’re a mixture for chaos. A ticking time bomb waiting to explode.” Bruce said. 

“You should step away, Doctor.” Fury said to Bruce, before being overlapped by Tony. “Why shouldn’t the guy let off a little steam?” Tony asked, putting a ahnd on Steve’s shoulder. 

“You know damn well why!” Steve yelled.

“I’m starting to want you to make me.” Tony said, coming face to face with Steve.

“Big man in a suit of armor, take that off and what are you?” 

“Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”

“He’s not wrong-” Natasha said, shrugging her shoulders.

“Thank you, Romanoff! Someone with sense on this ship.” Tony said, thanking Natasha.

“I’ve seen guys none of that worth ten of what you are. The only person you fight for is yourself. You’re not one to make sacrifice play, to lay down your life for someone else. You better stop playing the hero.” 

“Steve-” you began, now both hands on both swords, both of them on your waist.

“No! You better stop acting so cocky, Rogers. You’re a lab rat, everything special about you came out of a bottle.” Tony fires back.

“If you think your think you’re so special, put on the suit then, lets go a few rounds.” 

“I’m not afraid to hit an old man.” 

“Stop it you two! You’re acting like children!” You yelled, cutting both of them off.

“You are ALL acting like children, man up, all of you!” Fury said. 

Bruce kept his eyes firm on Loki’s scepter. It seemed to glow even more now, but all of you had to resolve the argument first. 

“Something’s coming. Something bad.” Bruce muttered. “I can feel it.” 

“Keep calm, Banner.” Natasha said, and both her and Fury put a hand of the holster of their gun.

“Dr. Banner, please-” You began. 

You were once again cut off, but not by anyone talking. Thor, Natasha, Bruce, Fury, Tony, Steve and yourself were knocked down to the floor, scattered all over the room.

“What the hell was that?” Natasha asked. 

“Engine’s been blown off. I didn’t want to say I told you so, Agent Romanoff.” Bruce said, while helping you up from the floor. 

“You alright, Tony?” you ask, as You help Tony up.

“Just fine, aunty. You?”

“Barely hurts, tones.”

“What the hell was that, Fury?” Natasha asked. 

Fury looks out the window before running out of the room.

“Agent Barton.”

The Price of a Soul

In the real world pepper spray wasn’t invented until the 70′s, if anyone wanted to know, so it would be a very strange weapon to the SSR.

As it turned out, Thompson did not get the chance to visit Peggy in the hospital.  After washing her face with soap and water over and over again, the doctors declared that while they didn’t know what had been done to her, it appeared unlikely to have any long-term effects, and released her.  By this time the burning had gone down significantly, although her eyes were still swollen and watery and the back of her throat felt as if she’d drunk straight vinegar and immediately vomited it up again.  In addition, she had developed a pounding headache.  It felt as if her skin were too tight for her skull and her eyes too big for their sockets, with everything pulsing in time with her heartbeat.

She took a taxi back to her hotel and found the button for her floor by feel.  Even the dim late-night lighting felt like needles in her eyes.  She had to ask a maid to direct her to her room, and when she got inside she made sure all the lights were off and felt her way to the bathroom to splash some cold water on her face.

This was a cause for immediate regret, as everything started burning all over again.

In the end she simply dropped herself into bed, face-up, and hoped to feel better in the morning.

She did not, particularly.

It was nearly noon when Peggy woke, thanks in part to the time difference between the coasts and in part to the very late night before.  Her head still ached, and the sunlight through the crack in the hotel room curtains seemed to slice into her eyes like one of HYDRA’s beam weapons.  It was incredibly tempting to just stay in bed all day, and the next day, and the day after that, and Peggy would have given in were it not for the fact that when she rolled over she realized she needed to use the toilet.  With a theatrical groan, she tossed the covers back, stood up, and staggered into the washroom.

Peggy had not, the previous evening, bothered to take in what she looked like in the aftermath of Miss Lake’s attack.  It was not quite as bad as she’d feared, but still not a pretty picture – her eyes were nearly swollen shut and the skin around them, along with her nose, lips, and cheeks, was ferociously red and puffy.  It looked superficially like a severe sunburn.

She reached to rub one eye, then thought better of it.

Now that she was upright, Peggy no longer felt quite so much like staying in bed the entire day.  She should at least have some breakfast, and then let Daniel know she was all right.  He would most likely have heard about last night and would want to be kept informed.  With that in mind, she called downstairs for room service, combed her hair, and then carefully held the telephone receiver an inch away from her skin as she asked the operator for Los Angeles.

Daniel was relieved to hear from her.  “I’m glad you’re okay,” he said.  “Thompson said you’d been burned by some kind of chemical?”

“I have,” said Peggy, “and there seems to be nothing I can do for it except wait for it to get better.  It’s already improved from last night.”  The headache, at the very least, was no more than a mild annoyance together, rather than an all-consuming agony.

“Let me know if they figure out what it was,” Daniel said.  “Could be useful.”

“Whatever it is, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” Peggy told him, then re-evaluated this statement.  Who did she consider her worst enemy?  Some of those Nazis who were still being tried for their crimes could do with a dose of that substance.  At her most obnoxious, so could Dottie Underwood.  She would keep that in mind.  “I don’t know how Miss Lake is doing yet,” Peggy went on.  “She was still in the hospital when I was released.”

“Oh, she’s out now,” said Daniel.  “Thompson called me this morning.  They’ve got her in custody at the police station down the street, the same one we kept Dottie at, but she’s not talking.”

Peggy sat up a little straighter.  “Well, at least we know she won’t be able to escape without help,” she quipped.  “Nobody told me.”

“They probably didn’t want to disturb you,” Daniel suggested.  “You’re convalescing, after all.”

Peggy considered how she would have felt if the phone had rung at eight am while she was still trying to sleep off whatever this was, and had to concede the point.  “I suppose I’d better head down there and see what they’re up to.  Thank you for telling me.”

“Don’t work too hard,” said Daniel.

“I’ll try not to, but I can make no promises,” Peggy told him.

After breakfast, she washed her face – carefully, and with almost more soap than water – and brushed her hair, then got dressed.  Makeup seemed like a terrible idea so she wore none, choosing instead a pair of large sunglasses and a hat she could tilt down to make her face harder to see.  She couldn’t see well enough to tell if people were staring at her as she hailed another taxi.  If she’d tried to walk, they probably would have thought she was a blind woman, blundering down the street with only the barest idea where she was going.

“Telephone company headquarters, please,” she told the cab driver.

Fortunately, once she reached the New York office, Peggy really could have found her way around the building with her eyes closed.  She took the elevator up to the SSR, and immediately encountered Thompson.

“Marge?” she heard him ask.  “You look terrible.”

“Your honesty is refreshing, Mr. Thompson,” Peggy replied, and even she didn’t know if she were being sarcastic or not.  “Has anyone figured out what she sprayed me with yet?”

“Actually, Dr. Mroczek was just giving me the results of that now,” said Thompson.

Frank Mroczek was the East Coast SSR’s head of the science department.  Peggy couldn’t see his face well enough to tell what he thought of her appearance, and he tactfully declined to say anything about it.  “Well,” he said, “yes, we analyzed the substance in the perfume jar.  The active ingredient appears to be capsaicin.”

“What is that?” asked Peggy.

“It’s the chemical that makes curries spicy” he explained.  “She seems to have isolated it, put it in an emulsion with what I think is propylene glycol, and used it as a weapon.  It’s not soluble in water, so trying to rinse it away won’t work.”

“I’d noticed,” Peggy sighed.  “Thank you, Dr. Mroczek.”  The idea that it was a substance people ate on purpose was reassuring.  Hopefully it meant that Peggy wouldn’t suffer any lasting damage.  “Have we learned anything else?” she asked Thompson.

“We found your gun in the car,” he said.  “Along with hers.  It’s another Colt thirty-eight, with a home-made suppressor.”

That was why all Peggy had heard was a popping sound.  “How did she break the window glass?”

“She didn’t.  She drilled through it with a hand auger.”  Thompson shook his head.  “She must’ve been at it all night.  No idea how she did it without being seen.”

“All that effort only to shoot the wrong man,” Peggy observed.  “Who did she get?”

“Armin Zola,” said Thompson.

Peggy’s eyes were too swollen to open wide, but she could feel them trying.  “What, really?”  As political prisoners went, Zola was if anything more important than Fenhoff!  He was one of the men the United States Government was pumping for information on the Nazi and HYDRA science projects and methods, though unlike some others he was considered too dangerous to be allowed his freedom.  The CIA was going to be furious.

Just what they needed, she thought.  Another acronym involved in this mess.

“Is he dead?” she asked.

“Very,” Thompson said.  “The bullet entered his left cheek, went straight through his brain, and hit the wall.  Good riddance, if you ask me.”

“I’m inclined to agree but there are people who will not be,” Peggy observed.

Peggy heard the elevator open and turned to see what it was, but from this distance could make out no more than a vague blue man-like shape.  She stood no chance of recognizing the individual until he spoke.

“Chief Thompson?” he asked.  “I’m Ned Russel, from the California FBI.”

“Agent Russel?” Peggy asked.  “What are you doing here?”

“Agent Carter?” Russel was as surprised as she was.  He came closer, and she was able, by squinting, to make out his familiar face and plaid blazer.  “I didn’t recognize you!” he said.  “Bees?”

She blinked.  “Bees?”

“One of the secretaries at the Sacramento office got stung by a bee in her garden last summer,” he said.  “Her hand turned purple and swelled up like it would burst.  Some of the men still call her the Lobster Lady.”

“I’m sure she appreciated their sympathy,” said Peggy.

“I see you two have met,” Thompson observed.

“Briefly,” Peggy agreed.  “Agent Russel, I thought you were being taken off this case?”

“I’m here as a witness.  They need me to identify Miss Lake as the woman who drugged and robbed me.  After that… yes, I’m being reassigned,” he admitted.

“I’m sorry to hear that,” she said.  “How is your wife?”

Russel sighed.  “She’s gone to stay with her brother in Houston.”

“Well, that I’m afraid serves you right,” Peggy said with a nod.  “No, incidentally, I was not stung by a bee – I was stung by Miss Lake.”

“I see.  Guess I got off easy.”

Thompson escorted his two guests up the street to the station where Miss Lake was being kept.  She was, indeed, not only in the same building but in the same cell as they’d kept Dottie, sitting on the bed with shackles on her wrists and ankles.  Peggy still couldn’t see very well, but she made out that they’d washed the charcoal off Lake’s face and hands and put her in a gray women’s prison uniform, and she’d been allowed to comb her hair.  Her accident had taken the skin off her knees and the back of her right arm, and her right cheek was scraped and bruised, but she still looked considerably better than Peggy did.

The dim illumination in the cell didn’t exactly count as the full light of day, but it was enough to tell that this was definitely the same person who’d come to the Los Angeles office claiming to be Agent Nadine Russel.

The prisoner looked up as they entered, and smiled, wiggling her fingers at them in a parody of a wave.  Her expression was downright smug, Peggy thought.  Miss Lake knew she had secrets the SSR wanted badly, and she also knew that she alone had control over when and whether she would reveal them.

“That’s her,” Russel told Thompson.

“All right.”  He nodded.  “We’ve got one positive ID.  How about you, Carter?  Is that the woman you met?”

“Yes, it is,” said Peggy.  “I would know her anywhere.”

Thompson approached the bars, and Peggy very nearly decided to grab him and pull him back.  She could just imagine Lake darting into action the moment a potential victim came within reach.  Fortunately, Thompson was smart enough to stay about an arm’s length away to speak to her.

“You’re going to jail either way, sweetheart,” he said.  “Assault, robbery, impersonating a federal agent, unauthorized access to classified information, breaking and entering, and now murder.  We know you can talk, so there’s no point in sitting there all stony-faced.  If you give us information, we might go easy on you.”

Lake raised a hand, and pointed at Peggy.  “I want to talk to Agent Carter,” she said.

Thompson’s eyebrows rose.  He looked over his shoulder at Peggy.

“Is that the first time she’s spoken?” she asked.

“First time,” he agreed.  Thompson looked at the prisoner levelly.  “Why do you want to talk to Carter?” he asked.

Lake said nothing.

Peggy tried.  “Why do you want to talk to me?”

“Because I think you want to talk to me,” said Lake.

She was certainly right about that.  Peggy’s purse, with that mysterious letter still in it, suddenly felt very heavy.  Ironic how the thing she most wanted to talk to Lake about was the one she could not bring up in anybody else’s presence.

But she could definitely learn something.  “That I do,” she said.  “If one of you gentlemen could bring me a chair,” she asked Thompson and the police, “I’m sure I could talk to our guest all day.”

4. Memories they would rather forget about.

➼ Wren would rather forget her father. She suffers nightmares, anxiety, and PTSD all because of him, and she would rather not. 

➼ The car accident she had with the drunk driver. She lost too much from it, and it also made her spiral. A lot of her worst memories are from that point. 

➼ Later, after the Collapse, she regrets and wants to forget a lot of the violence she had done while being Judge of Eden’s Gate. She’s pretty ashamed of it, not at all proud, and she would rather just forget it ever happened, but she can’t and she won’t. 

➼ The first fight she has with her daughter, Harper. It’s when she finds out what Wren and John did before the Collapse, and she throws the whole “hating your dad for what he’s done” back at Wren...which is eye opening for her. 

➼ Everything that she saw in the Bliss. Wren’s time in the Bliss is not at all pleasant, to the point that she sees the child she lost. It’s triggering, especially when Faith almost made her jump to her death. 

8. People they admire

➼ Blair absolutely adores Martin Stein. The professor is someone she looks up to as a mentor. They work together on the Waverider, and she even helped him find Jax to stabilize Firestorm. 

➼ Earth-2 Wells. She took a bit of a hit when she realized who Earth-1 Harry really was, so she was more reluctant in accepting him, but she did and he became someone she idolized. 

➼ Her parents. Blair admires her mother’s unconditional love, acceptance, and patience, and models after that the best she can. And with her father, it’s his wisdom, understanding, and sense of justice and what’s right. He’s the biggest reason she chose to use her powers to be a hero in the first place. 

➼ She admires Oliver Queen, if we’re being honest, and despite his questionable decisions from time to time (and his attitude/behavior), she usually stands by him. Ollie helped mentor her on how to fight, he was who took her in when her powers manifested. She won’t ever forget that and she admires Oliver for his dedication to protecting the city and those he loves. 

➼ Sara Lance. Blair respects and admires her as a friend, and as a Captain. They might have disagreements here and there, but ultimately, Blair respects the hell out of her. 

9. Pet peeves

➼ Quinn absolutely dislikes it when people ruffle his hair when its done. There have been moments when a date or a friend will reach to touch it, and he’ll jerk back and maneuver himself out of reach. 

➼ To piggyback off of the last one, he really doesn’t like being touched without permission. There is a moment when John gets in his personal space and pokes his chest (which is funny, because Quinn is bigger), and the reaction is definitely not a positive one. 

➼ It drives him nuts when people chew with their mouth open. It’s gross and the noise just puts him on edge. He was raised with manners and such, so it’s just something that irritates the hell out of him. 

➼ Blatant arrogance. Don’t get me wrong, Quinn has a ton of confidence and it very self-assured. But it’s when he meets someone who is so arrogant, that it’s borderline toxic, and nothing to back it. He finds that arrogance is actually tied to insecurity, and he won’t hesitate to call it out when someone is throwing their weight around. 

➼ Popping gum. He’s had friends do it on purpose, his own secretary would do it when he was working just to get under his skin. It’ll keep him from focusing and it draws his attention. Sometimes you gotta get his attention to keep him from working himself into the ground, but still...it’s a pet peeve. 

22. Goals

➼ Camille wants to settle down, eventually. She gets very tired of working for SHIELD and even getting involved with the Avengers. The goal is to go back to normal, or as close as she can, like before Nat and Clint saved her in Budapest. 

➼ As corny as it is, she wants to get Steve’s attention. She’s too damn shy to talk to him, tells Natasha and Maria that she really doesn’t have time for her. Honestly, she uses every excuse in the book--including knowing his feelings towards Peggy. It makes her hesitate. 

➼ She has a goal of eventually being good enough at fighting to put Natasha on her ass. She hasn’t gotten there yet, but Nat encourages her and Clint finds it super amusing. Tony eventually starts placing bets for fun and tells her she’s losing him money. 

➼ Opening a free or affordable clinic, something that can be taken around the world for those in need and in third world countries, is a goal of hers. She’s talked to Pepper about it, and they were looking into it. It’s something Tony and Pepper can get behind, and she gets pretty excited about it until Civil War happens. 

➼ To work alongside the famous Dr. Stephen Strange. He’s a legend, truly, before his accident and she had always wanted to work with him. Someone should have told her never to meet your heroes (funny because she literally works with superheroes daily), because when she first runs into him, it’s to fix his hands...and he’s a dick. 

23. Weird dreams they’ve had

➼ Gabriel has had the usual “showing up to school naked” dream, but he was in Gotham and hanging upside down from being hung up on the flagpole...he doesn’t like going to Gotham anymore. 

➼ That dog sitting in the fire in the kitchen meme? Yeah, he dreamed he was the dog. The actual dog. It’s a bit before his fire powers start showing themselves. 

➼ He dreamed that he married Cisco on the Death Star once, after Cisco and Blair made him watch a Star Wars marathon with them. He wasn’t entirely sure why he was dreaming about marrying Cisco, but that’s going to the grave. 

➼ There was this one time where he had a dream about him and Carmen switching spots--he was the detective and she was the street criminal, and it just shook him up. It felt so damn real to him, he almost believed it. 

➼ Him and his friends went to visit Blair on the moon, where she was glowing from her powers like...100% of the time. He thought that she was an alien or something, and forgot that Blair’s eyes are dark brown instead of blue/purple--like they are when she uses her powers.

Peggy Carter Saves Infinity War

So hear me out. We always talk about how Peggy could’ve stopped Civil War and the Snap (which obviously she could). I’ve been re-watching the Infinity Saga with my friend before she goes back to work next week. We’ve gotten to the point where a week ago, we saw Infinity War, and then I couldn’t get this idea out of my head, of exactly how Peggy saves the day in Infinity War. Like seriously I haven’t been able to write because this idea has just consumed me and I needed to write something out if I wanted to go on with my life.

I might make this a full fic someday. We’ll see.

There are probably some plot holes in here since I am about to ramble from brain to paper without any editing, but just roll with it for my sake.

Insert your favourite “this is how Peggy got to the future” but for all intents and purposes, the Peggy I’m talking about here is also a super soldier for reasons. Also, Civil War never happened because of Peggy so they’re all friends yay.

Even just this little bit got kinda long so it’s under the cut here: 

Tony and Bruce are still the only (official) Avengers right in New York when they come to get the Time Stone - except Peggy’s also there. 

Wanda and Vision are on a romantic getaway type trip in Glasgow, while Steve, Nat, and Sam are close by them responding to something unrelated. So while they’re all friends, they’re still physically separated from each other.

I read a post once that said that Tony covers the people he loves in suits (Rhodey, Pepper, Peter). He and Peggy would have obviously bonded and become extremely close, so he made a (more subtle) suit just for her - though there’s nothing subtle about the colours on her suit matching the ones on Steve’s uniform. It’s nothing nearly as extravagant the ones he made for himself or for Peter (because she wouldn’t let him). It covers her body, has some thrusters on the soles of her feet that she can use to fly, and has an optional helmet that is similar to Steve’s but also has a clear portion that covers her mouth if she’s somewhere she needs to be fully covered. The suit lives in a red, silver, and blue bracelet that she can activate at any time. She’s never worn the full suit in all the years she’s had it, but he begs her to always have it at the ready just in case. 

When they take to the sky, Peggy’s glad she actually listened to him.

As they’re going up, she and Tony have the same realization: it’s a one way trip. While Tony calls Pepper, she calls Steve.

He picks up in the middle of the first ring.

“You’re going up,” he states immediately, his voice heavy.

She’s not surprised that he knows. It’s all over the news - that she can hear in the background of wherever Steve’s at.

Which means he can see the space ship that they’re chasing getting higher and higher. She wonders if he can see her, too.

“Yes,” she answers simply, because there’s no way around it. As it is they’re almost out of time before the call inevitably gets dropped.

“Thanos is coming, he’s after the infinity stones,” she warns him.

“Vision,” Steve realizes at once.

“You can’t let Thanos or his minions get to him. You have to protect him, Steve.”

“I will,” he says firmly.

She couldn’t help but think that it wasn’t any easier being on this end of the call, but she had to keep it together. Steve was strong for her, after all.

“When I get back, I’m going to take you dancing,” she promises.

“8 o’clock on the dot,” he agrees.

“We can start with something slow,” she offers, and she feels the tears burning in her eyes as she finds her way into the damn ship. “We can start with our song.”

“I promise not to step on your feet.”

This time, he finishes his sentence before they get cut off.

While Steve, Nat, and Sam don’t get to Vision before he gets stabbed, they do get there sooner, so he’s not as in terrible condition. The earth end of the movie goes very similarly to the movie at this point.

Everything goes pretty much the same on the space side too - until we get to the team on Titan fighting Thanos. With Peggy’s help, Tony manages to form the plan to attack Thanos and things are going pretty well with the extra hand.

Then Quill comes along and allows his own grief to get in the way.

But this time, they have one more person to help. (And seriously I couldn’t help but think that entire time that they just needed one more person to deal with Quill so that they wouldn’t lose their grip on Thanos ugh).

Before Tony lets go, Peggy screams at him to keep at the gauntlet with Peter. She then drops her arms from where she had them wrapped around Thanos’ neck and tackles Quill. They fight it out because SERIOUSLY QUILL CAN YOU NOT WAIT TWO SECONDS.

He’s stronger than she thought he’d be - put she’s Peggy goddamn Carter and she isn’t about to let the billions of people die because of some petulant man child.

While they fight, Quill yells at her, tells her that she has no idea what Gamora meant to him, what he’s going through.

Peggy, of course, is one of the few people that probably understands what he’s going through the best. 

While physically wrestling him, she tells him about losing the love of her life but not being able to mourn because it was World War 2 and they had work to do, lives to save.

She tells him that he needs to respect Gamora’s sacrifice and the only way to do that is to get the gauntlet off of Thanos and stop him for good. She tells him that she knows how hard it is, but he needs to be strong.

He owes the billions of lives at stake - he owes Gamora that.

Finally, the gauntlet comes off. 

Thanos is now fighting back even harder, Mantis isn’t going to be able to keep him down much longer.

Peggy lets go of Quill and dashes to take the gauntlet from Peter because he’s just a child.

There’s a big mess as Thanos “wakes up”, throws them all off, and they play keep away with the gauntlet. At some point, Peggy gets it and she takes off in a mad dash/fly away from Thanos. During this, she sneaks the stones out of their slots without anyone noticing (where do you think Tony learned it from?) and she places them in the bag that Shuri made specially for her out of Vibranium - among other things. It is tear-proof, can be adapted to a different sizes and strapped to her body in multiple different ways. Peggy never leaves home without it.

(Context: Peggy visited Wakanda with Steve when he went to ask T’Challa to help Bucky. She and Shuri became fast friends because they’re two kickass women who have so much respect for each other and we love women supporting women. Ya’ll can fight me on this.)

Thanos catches up to Peggy and tears the gauntlet away from her. He then throws her violently in a random direction. Strange opens up a portal that she flies through.

(How he knew that she actually had the stones, well he’s Dr. Strange so).

Peggy lands (hard) in Wakanda during their big battle - right in the middle of the field. She’s disoriented, aching, and lying on her back, but she needs to get those damn stones to safety and this looks the exact opposite of that. 

“Peggy?”

It’s Steve.

He’s bloodied and breathless, but dear god it’s her Steve.

He rushes to her and helps her on her feet. Before she can say anything, he’s kissing her bruisingly because he thought he lost his best girl but she’s alive and she’s here.

“Steve,” she gasps, pulling back, her fingers digging into his biceps. “There’s no time.”

“That’s because you’re late,” he whispers, still in shock.

“I have the stones,” she presses on.

“What?”

“I have four infinity stones on my person and I need to get them as far away from here before Thanos realizes I’ve taken then and follows me here.”

“We need to destroy them,” he told her.

“How?”

Still keeping one arm wrapped around her, he pressed his finger to his ear, speaking into the comms.

“Wanda, we have a package coming your way, be ready. Everyone else, if we want to win, we have to get Peggy to Wanda while keeping those things away from Shuri and Vision.”

Then there’s a whole other mess as Peggy rushes toward Wanda. It’s very similar to Endgame where everyone takes turns fighting with her (at some point she gets separated from Steve for a bit), covering her and getting her to her destination. (Also I want one of these people to be Bucky because she and Bucky were friends okay and they deserve a cool fight scene together).

At one point, her leg gets injured badly. Her thrusters are no longer working so she can’t fly and she’s alone. Cue Steve.

By the skin of their teeth, they make it to Wanda, Steve setting Peggy on the floor. They keep Thanos’ army at bay while Wanda destroys the stones and Shuri continues working. The battle rages on, but they’re starting to get the upperhand.

A portal opens in the sky. Steve, Peggy and Wanda look out the window, for a moment terrified that Thanos caught up to Peggy.

It’s not Thanos.

Well, not just Thanos, anyway. It’s Strange and Peter and Tony and the Guardians of the Galaxy and a one-armed, half unconscious Thanos. Without the Infinity Stones, they were able to team up and defeat Thanos. Strange never had to give up the time stone.

Thanos’ army realizes what’s happened, and they begin to flee.

With the extra time they bought, Shuri manages to get the mind stone out of Vision’s head. Wanda destroys that one too, for good measure.

After, they’re cleaning up the remnants of the battle, tending to the dead, to everyone else’s wounds. Steve is stitching Peggy’s leg back up and caring for her. They both know she’ll heal soon enough without his help, but Steve is still buzzing with adrenaline and energy and needs something to do with his hands and they’re not about to let each other out of their sights anytime soon.

Together, they watch Vision and Wanda hold each other, whispering sweet nothings and words of comfort in each other’s ears.

“You kept him safe,” Peggy tells Steve, who looks up at her with pained eyes.

“He offered to sacrifice himself when we figured out that our best chance was to destroy the stone.”

“It’s what we all would have done,” she agreed, her fingers now carding through his hair. “But you found another solution.”

“I thought about losing you when I crashed the plane. About you going up with Tony and Strange and the kid and the fact that I’d probably never see you again and... I couldn’t let them become us.”

“Funnily enough... in a way, they have become us,” Peggy told him, flicking her eyes to the pair. 

Vision kissed the palm of Wanda’s hand, both of them still clinging to each other.

Steve tilted his head until he was able to do the same with Peggy’s palm, closing his eyes.

They won. 

Once Peggy’s leg is healed and they’ve dealt with the fallout of Thanos, Peggy makes good on her promise to take Steve dancing.

Aly then told me that “hey remember that I told you that the little boy in Iron Man 3 comes back at one point? Yeah that’s at the funeral”

It was the shortest movie but it felt SO LONG because I was so bored through all of it

sure another infinity stone and getting to know doctor strange and shit, I get why you kinda need to watch it

but I doubt I’ll watch it again

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

the music really carried this movie tho

like it was good, and I enjoyed it a lot, but it just wasn’t really anything that left me all like woooaaaah omg AH you know???

I really liked how it connected back to previous movies like with Ronan and the Kree people from GOTG and the tesseract and all that jazz

my main problem with this movie is that HER POWERS MAKE NO SENSE 

like in the beginning it was kinda okay. I didn’t understand her powers, but at least they felt reasonable

then we got to the end and all of a sudden she’s flying and glowing and strong enough to stop and redirect a fuckin missile, and then she’s FLYING INTO BOMBS AND COMING OUT THE OTHER END COMPLETELY UNSCATHED?? 

OH AND THEN SHE FLIES INTO FUCKIN SPACE WITHOUT A HELMET OR ANYTHING AND SHE CAN BREATHE JUST FINE???

it just makes no sense, it’s completely unreasonable and it makes her too perfect to me. Too unbeatable. I don’t like it.

Avengers: Endgame I WILL NEVER BE READY

As I thought, I wasn’t ready

But, I actually think that knowing about Tony beforehand made it a bit easier

I still wish I hadn’t known

and I still bawled like a baby 

but like,,, I think I would have been way worse off if I hadn’t known

I’m just so sad now

and even though I just cried more than I’ve done all year I need to cry some more I think

I’m glad everyone who got dusted came back, although I kinda knew they would 

well, I would have been fine with Quill staying dusted tbh. I really don’t like that guy

oh gosh yeah I know I have more thoughts about this movie that I wanna say but I need to be more okay first oh man

okay hi again, it’s the next day and I’m still sad but here are some more thoughts: 

I hated the whole Bruce/Hulk think. All the good parts about each side of his character were just erased.

I don’t even see the purpose of it. 

Okay I kinda knew that Steve was gonna go back to the 40s, but I WASN’T SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT SO SHH

anyway, I didn’t like Steve staying in the 40s, and here’s why: 

he knew that this was the single one out of 14 million times they won against Thanos, so he knew that changing anything at all would fuck it up

but at the same time, I find it hard to believe that Steve could be aware that Tony and Nat dies and not want to do anything about it

even though he knows he can’t

so wouldn’t it have been easier to just go back to the present after he returned all the stones? So he wouldn’t have to live with that dilemma?

ALSO, I WILL NOT ACCEPT that after everything he did to get Bucky back, he just leaves him. Just like that. 

Literally the only reason this makes sense is as a setup for the Falcon and The Winter Soldier Disney+ series.

This was nice, I needed this. 

I didn’t like it as much as homecoming, but I didn’t expect to considering how much I loved hoco

it was really nice to see some more Peter Parker bc i love him but also like,,, most of it was traumatized spidey boy :((( and that was sad :(

before we realized he was bad, I already didn’t like him, cuz it seemed like he was gonna start to become a new father figure for Peter and I WAS NOT COOL WITH THAT

but then I understood that that wasn’t happening so it’s all good

he’s a pretty cool antagonist. not a fave, but pretty cool. 

OH OH FLASH IS SO GAY FOR SPIDERMAN THO RIGHT

he actually got some real nice character development that I had not expected, that was nice

One month later

Edie and Steve park the pick up truck in the middle of the field and get out. Nick Fury is already there, leaning on the side of a Jeep.

“How goes the Hydra hunt?” Fury says by way of greeting.

“We have some leads,” Steve answers. “Mostly pointing back to Germany, where it all started.”

“The shells from the sniper are the same that the Winter Soldier used and they fired about 1200 yards out so we’re probably dealing with another enhanced person,” Edie adds.

“It sounds like this case is definitely in both your wheelhouses which makes now a good time to do this.” He pulls out a small rectangular device and presses a couple buttons. The empty field suddenly shimmers as reflective panels retract and reveal a double landing pad with two quinjets, a hanger, and multi-floor building. “Welcome to the new SHIELD facility.”

Steve looks at the building. “Awfully big space for just the three of us.”

“Actually,” Fury sighs, “I’m here delivering the keys. It’s just the two of you.”

Edie shakes her head thinking she misheard. “Wait, where are you going?”

“I have my own personal project I’m working on currently. John Walker isn’t the only tarnished superhero the world has to offer. There are many others out there with a checkered past that need the opportunity to redeem themselves. Apparently, I’ve been told, I have a heavy enough hand to help guide them on their path back to redemption.”

“That sounds pretty noble,” Steve says.

Nick scoffs. “It sounds like utter bullshit but someone needs to get their hands dirty. Why not me? You two, on the other hand, have a chance to rebuild SHIELD with clean hands, run it the way you want.” Nick holds out the device to Steve.

Steve looks at Edie who gives him a slight nod and he takes the device. They had already talked about this exact situation and came to the conclusion that they would tackle this together. He was a soldier and always would be. She had been raised in the shadows and it was in her blood whether she wanted it or not. But at least they were going to be rebuilding SHIELD together.

“Try not to wreck the place,” Nick says with a smile before he gets into the Jeep and drives off.

Edie laces her fingers with Steve’s as they cross the field to the front entrance of the building. “You know, SHIELD was founded with three people: Peggy Carter, Colonel Phillips, and Howard Stark.”

“Yeah?”

“Well, we have the career soldier and the charming spy, all we’re missing is a Stark.”

“Do you think Hazel would want to work with us? What about Sam’s team?”

“I don’t think it’s a mistake that Fury chose this place that’s only a few miles away from Sam’s home.”

Steve nods thoughtfully. “Well, we have a few months before we pitch anything to her.”

“Agreed.”

Steve opens the door and holds it for her. “After you, Dr. Erskine.”

Edie smiles and kisses him. “Welcome home, Captain Rogers.”

“If I had known you and your friends were capable of doing work like this, I would have had you all visit years ago to fix up the house.”

Sam smiles as he finishes screwing in the plate around the ceiling fan. “Maybe we’ll start our own business: Avenger’s Remodeling.”

In one month, Sam and his teammates and friends had completely turned the old attic into a beautiful studio apartment. Insulation and new windows kept the Southern heat out of the upper room, hard wood floors were sanded and sealed, and Pepper had sent over the furniture that she knew Hazel would find comforting. It turned out lovely and Sarah hoped that Hazel and Luka would find some respite here while Hazel tried to rebuild her life.

Sarah hands Sam a beer as he climbs down from the ladder. “Well, now AJ and Cass want their rooms redone.”

“Kitchen’s next.”

“I thought you were joking about that!”

Sam laughs. “Hell no. You want to start selling food, you need a decent kitchen to do it in. Besides, Clint already has the countertops.”

“I told you I don’t want granite.”

“I know. It’s butcher block. I listen.”

Sarah gives him a serious look. “You listen, huh?”

Sam shakes his head. “Oh lord, I know that look. I’m about to get some little sisterly advice.”

“What you’re about to get is a fat lip if you don’t stop mouthing off to me.”

“Alright, alright.” He brushes the dust off his clothes before sitting down in one of the chairs at the small kitchen table. “What do you want to say?”

She takes the chair across from him and fiddles with her own beer bottle. “I know you feel guilty over what happened in Madripoor. And I know you always like to rescue people.” She motions to the remodelled attic. “But I’m telling you right now, being a single mother with two little kids is something Hazel can’t be rescued from. She’s going to have to figure this out herself.”

“I know that.”

“Do you?”

“If you didn’t want her here-”

“I do want her here,” Sarah interrupts. “Pepper’s got her hands full with Riri Williams and Peter Parker. Hazel has an entire community here that is willing to help and she agreed to come for the duration of her pregnancy.”

Sam frowns. “So what’s the problem then?”

“You.”

“Me? How am I the problem?”

Sarah shakes her head and laughs. “I know you. You’re going to want to rescue her from this situation and I’m telling you right now, you can’t. She has to stand on her two feet and she may never want to be rescued. You gotta be okay with that.”

“Sarah, she’s just a friend who needs some help right now. That’s it.”

She gives him a slight smirk. “That’s good. Keep repeating that until it sounds believable.”

Sam shakes his head. “I don’t know where you get these ideas from.”

“Oh, you don’t? How about the fact that you talk about her more than you do Bucky? I know more about Hazel than your own partner.”

“First of all, he’s a coworker. Second of all, Hazel talks and Bucky stares. She actually gives me things to talk about when I come back home.”

“All I know is this past week you have had that look in your eye that I haven’t seen since you and Lorainne Beauford were going together.”

“That was high school, Sarah!”

“Some things never change, Sam.” She stands up and squeezes his shoulder. “Just give her space and keep being her friend.”

“You’ve now made this weird, I hope you know.”

“Good,” she smiles. “Maybe for once you’ll behave yourself.”

Thinkin’ on another AU

I’m not actually planning to do anything with this, but wanted to throw the idea out there so it can stop living rent-free in my brain haha

Hamilton/Frankenstein AU. Details and a doodle under the cut!

For the most part, the AU sticks closely to the original story; at the moment I’d say it’s still set in Europe, but honestly it doesn’t matter too much. It’s mostly running with the story of the novel, though there were some changes made in the musical that I quite enjoyed, so I peppered them in here and there.

(Shipping is mostly ambiguous for this since things could get pretty questionable real quick for a multitude of reasons.)

Alexander fits pretty naturally as Victor -- ambitious, obsessed with his ideas, and ends up dying to his own hubris. His early life in this AU is far more luxurious, though lonely; he spends much of his time with Eliza, or running about causing trouble with John. After his mother dies, he heads off to university to begin his studies, delving into the realm of medicine. He’s a star student, but is haunted by the death of his mother, and after a few years of classes abandons his continued study in favor of attempting to reanimate the dead. The biggest problem with casting Alexander as Victor is that after creating the Creature, Victor goes and spends most of the rest of the novel doing fuck-all, though we can assume Alexander is so obsessed with what people would think of him and so overwhelmed that he just breaks. And if you take into context the musical for Frankenstein alongside the original book, several of the songs easily match up to the ones in Hamilton -- The Chase has a lot of overlap with the workshop version of Hurricane, for example.

Speaking of John, he similarly fits well into the role of Henry Clerval. Something of a dreamer, he cares more for ideals and free-flowing words than hard sciences; he’s far more preoccupied with the flaws of their world and putting them to paper. He also dabbles in the arts, appreciating the natural world for all it is. Shame he gets fucking murdered.

As for Eliza, she takes over the role of Elizabeth in the original story. The daughter of a noble family adopted into the Hamilton household. I’m not really sure how Angelica and Peggy would fit into the story -- I don’t know who would be Justine (the housekeeper/nanny for the Hamiltons), but it feels kind of sloppy to try and shove one of the other sisters into the role.

As previously mentioned, Alexander’s mother and father take the place of Caroline and Alphonse; nothing much here changes.

To round out the rest of the Frankenstein family, I was originally considering James Jr. and Edward as Ernest and William Frankenstein, but neither of them would really fit the roles well. Other options would have Phillip as William, the sweet little boy who’s strangled to death -- he would fit naturally into the role, though that still leaves Ernest. Though, eh, Ernest doesn’t do much, haha. another option would be sneaking Angelica/Peggy in here.

I think Burr best fits as Robert Walton. Perhaps instead of writing to his sister, he instead sends poor Theodosia 200 pages about the random man idiot frozen man (Alexander) he finds out on the ice of the arctic.

Finally, as for the Creature, we have Jefferson. I wasn’t originally sure who to put here, and played with a few options, but I think he fits the best. Eloquent and intimidating. If you want to play with a happy-ending AU instead of “RIP Alexander, motherfucker deserved it,” I couldn’t ever see Alexander and Thomas falling into a father/son creator/creation relationship, but they could end up as equals, more or less.

Pulling from the plot of the musical some more -- specifically the Amen song -- here’s a doodle of the condemned man himself before Alexander claims his corpse in the name of “science.” RIP Thomas. Also, a Creature. Wonder who Alexander got those eyes from...Thomas’ eyes were dark brown in life.

Since Frankenstein takes place around the same time frame as Hamilton, I didn’t bother drawing much of the cast -- they’d be in the same clothes for the most part, anyways. But since Thomas gets the most changes, he gets to be drawn.

Bonus suggestion: Jekyll and Hyde AU, of which I have put exactly zero thought into, I just think having Burr as the collected gentlemen Dr. Henry Jekyll and Alexander as Mr. Spirit of London New York Idiocy at Night would be hilarious.

Avengers:Endgame theory

Okay strap in because this is a long one. Here’s my theory about who is gonna die and who will survive the next Avengers. 

I will refer particularly to the original 6 and even more specifically to the main 3. That is Iron Man, Thor and Captain America.  I think that there has been a lot of speculation over their deaths with most people believing firmly that they will all die. 

However, I think that all three characters will have some sort of closure that does not include killing all of them off. I think that they will each get one of the following endings: 

-Death

- Abandonment of this timeline 

- Retirement

Starting with the first one: Death. 

I think the one who will face this destiny is the one we least expect: THOR. The reason why I believe this is firstly that MARVEL has to kill one of the three in order to avoid being called out for never killing anyone and I think that Thor is the one we least expect. There are 5 things that I believe point to Thor being the one to die:                                                                                   

1) He wasn’t in Civil War so his life wasn’t at stake then and the lighthearted tone of Ragnarok let us now from the start that he was not going to die. However, right at the end of Ragnarok we see the tone change with the appearance of Thanos.                                                                                            2) Thor is obviously the most powerful avenger and the most capable of causing any damage to Thanos. Also, in terms of power he is the most similar to Captain Marvel who would serve as a valid replacement.                            3)Everyone is focused on either Tony or Steve dying for each other which would mean that Thor being the one that sacrifices himself would be a twist.              4)In Ragnarok we saw Thor loose his father and his home and, in turn, find his power. In Infinity War we saw him loose his people and his brother and use his power to avenge them. He himself has said that he has nothing else to loose which means that he might be the most willing to stand up to Thanos. 

 I think that the destiny of each character will be decided based on how his story would finally come full circle. And how to make their ending less tragic by giving them what they have been looking for. Which brings me to the last point.

5) Thor began his journey through the MCU as an arrogant god who has no feelings for misgardians and through the years we have seen him care for them more and more. 

So I believe that a way to close his arc which involved him going from being arrogant and not caring for misgardians to being powefull and caring as well as selfless would be to have him sacrifice himself in order to allow others to live. 

The next destiny would be: Abandonment of this timeline. 

I think it’s pretty obvious that this ending belongs to Steve Rogers. A man out of his time. I believe that Steve Rogers arc through the movies was mostly related to him becoming a perfect soldier with a belief system who then had to question his beliefs and become a fugitive of the government. There are 3 main reasons that lead me to believe this might happen: 

1) The possibility of time travel. We know that time travel exists in the MCU as it was introduced with Dr Strange. We also know that there is a high possibility of it being used in Endgame to defeat Thanos as seen with the BTS photos showing a shooting of the battle of New York of 2012. This would mean that it is possible for Steve to decide as a sacrifice or as a way of retirement to go back in time to the 40′s in order to avoid going into the ice and thus create a new alternate universe where Captain America never became an avenger and never missed his date with Peggy Carter. 

I believe reason 2 and 3 are related as one involves Steve’s biggest wish and the other his biggest fear.                                                                                     2) Steve’s biggest fear. This is something that was first introduced in Avengers:Age of Ultron with both Wanda and Ultron himself. Wanda shows each of the Main 3 what we think is their biggest fear. However it might end up being an interpretation of their destiny when mixed with what scares them:

And, finally, Steve:

During this scene we see Steve watching himself going home but being unable to let go of his PTSD and the war which is also shown by Ultron’s words.

This all goes to show that Steve’s biggest fear is never being able to let go of the war while his destiny could be to go back to his own time.                           3) Steve’s biggest wish. If we believe that his biggest fear is never letting go of the war and his biggest problem is that he is literally a man out of his time, then the best way to end his journey giving him and the fans the chance of healing and being at peace with his departure would be to send him back to his own time. Letting him live his remaining days with Peggy and fulfilling a dream that he told Tony in AoU wasn’t for him but for the man he used to be. 

And, finally: Retirement. 

This is partly wishful thinking and partly supported by evidence. It is known that Iron Man’s journey as we know it is certainly coming to and end as RDJ is not set to be in any more Marvel movies and is choosing to step aside. However I think that there are 5 reasons which are also related and which lead me to think that he might survive. 

1) Tony Stark dying in Endgame is probably the most expected outcome. Everybody is going to go into the cinema expecting him to die fighting Thanos, saving Peter or sacrificing himself. However, there are a number of theories that point to him surviving. The main one related to the parallelism between Endgame and the stage of a game of chess by the same name. During which, one is set to make many sacrifices to win. However, in order to win, those sacrifices cannot include killing the king as that means automatic loss and I like to believe that the parallelism between Tony and Thanos is put there in Infinity War because they are each the “king” of each team in the chess game. Therefore, he cannot die as that would mean loosing.                                          2) It is known and has been hinted at by many sources that there is one scene in the movie that includes most, if not all, the cast of Avengers. This has been said by Sebastian Stan in an interview. 

Also, because the actor who played Harley Keener in Iron Man 3 is listed on the cast, many believe that his appearence as well as the scene mentioned by Sebastian are a funeral scene for Tony Stark. However I believe (mainly based on my mental health) that the scene in question is a wedding scene for Tony and Pepper which could be nearing the end of the movie as a way to end it on a positive note, opposite to the Infinity War ending.                                               3) Through all the MCU movies featuring Tony Stark, he has been shown as the most human character. He constantly makes mistakes, he messes up, he can be arrogant and selfish. This leads many to believe that his last redeeming act would be to sacrifice himself. However, what many fail to notice is that he has sacrificed himself time and time again in order to save the planet. The most clear examples are him taking the nuke outside of the atmosphere to save New York and him not wanting Dr Strange to exchange the Time Stone to save his life. However, there is an exchange between Captain America and Tony during the first Avengers movie that might be foreshadowing Tony’s role in Endgame. 

This could mean that while everybody is expecting Tony to, once again, sacrifice himself and “lay down on the wire” his role in the movie will be to find a way to “cut it”, that is to find an alternative way to bring everyone back.          4) It has been foreshadowed through most of the last movies that Tony is set to settle down and have a family. This can be mostly seen in his new-found role as Peter Parkes’ mentor/father-figure which he has taken on voluntarily and is strikingly different to how he treated Harley Keener whom he found before he was ready to settle down. 

This could either mean that marvel wants us to suffer even more by showing us a glimpse of what Tony could have or it means that they are building up to him finally retiring as he has been trying to do since the end of Iron Man 3.

5) Finally, there is the matter of the best way of ending such a beloved character as Tony Stark. I believe that having him sacrifice himself is not what the MCU has been building for the past decade as his arc is mainly involved with him finding a family. This is seen in Iron Man 1 when Yinsen who could be interpreted as the only real mentor Tony had, tells him to not waste his life. This might have been interpreted by Tony at first as Yinsen telling him to do something with his knowledge, become a hero. However, Yinsen clearly cares much more about family 

Which could mean that Tony’s ultimate ending, what his character has been leading up to, is being able to spend the rest of his life, the life that Yinsen saved, with his family. This would explain the idea that Tony hasn’t had a conventional family making the Avengers his family and surrounding himself with people he called family such as Pepper, Happy, Rhodes and even Peter Parker that he felt he needed to protect but that finally, after saving the universe once again, he can retire and expand said family.
