Hi, I also gotta say that the uvogin fanfic is amazing I also really enjoyed reading that <3.

It was actually a good plan but why the heck did he even print out chats in the first place and kept them in the drawer under the TV? Like if it were his room ok but in the livingroom? Was it maybe his plan that the reader finds it on their own so he could have a reason to stop the pretend and then the reader would blame themselves?

Ooh, I hadn't even considered the last part of that! That would've been a really good ending - my stand-by for fics is to make endings leading into shock and then sex or a post-sex haze; I am a creature of habit. (Mostly, I just saw the word count was getting to five number places and was worried no one would want to read something longer.)

But genuinely, you finding the evidence of his obsession was an accident - one Uvogin sincerely, honestly hoped wouldn't happen. And you're obedient, he knows that - even if you have a more rebellious streak in you, he's big. He's scary. He's strong. He told you not to snoop. He was sure enough that he'd be willing to bet his own life that you wouldn't dare disobey him or his rules - he knows your body language well enough from all that stalking to be able to read you like a book, and he knew from the moment that blindfold came off that he had you in the palm of his hand.

But then you did the unexpected. You rebelled. You disobeyed.

You were bad, and while he's initially mad at you, frankly he's more surprised than anything - a little impressed and proud of you, even. It fucks up all his plans, of course, but it's nice to see you growing a backbone, even if it is just against him.

And he did have plans, really - plans to slowly grow on you, to continue getting your favorite foods and 'accidentally' starting a new series or set of movies - and oh? What's this? They're your favorites? What a coincidence!

He was going to slowly ease you into the idea of intimacy; a hand lingering on your shoulder here or there, catching you when you fall (he sent a small burst of aura your way that had you losing your balance, but that's just a trivial detail), scoffing at you and telling you that you're holding that knife all wrong, let me show you how to really cut something. (He'll stand behind you, his chest flush against your back, arms grabbing your own and guiding you through the chopping motion, the extra cologne he'd spritzed on earlier in the day making your nose tingle and your cheeks feel warm.)

(And then, once you're asleep that night, he'll fuck his fist so hard it nearly breaks.)

He had a plan, yes, but he's mature enough to realize that it's all his fault that it didn't pan out (well, maybe a bit your's, too, because you'd decided to grow a pair and break one of his cardinal demands). He'd been stringant with keeping all evidence in check - away and secure so that you wouldn't find it. Maybe, with time, he'd show you all the things he's collected over the months he's been watching you - maybe, but only if the Stockholm Syndrome was in full swing, if you were willingly kissing him, instigating sex or even whispering those three little words with honesty. Maybe he would've, just to show you how much he cared - how much he still cares.

But to answer your question, nonnie, the reason why he has the chats printed out is because he wrote them while tapping into your phone line. Shalnark didn't mind doing his buddy a favor, and getting the bug planted wasn't too difficult. And it would go off at the most random times - when he's out, traveling for Troupe business, he doesn't have a computer or anything on him, and a scrap piece of paper and a pen are his only tools. He records what you're saying because everything that comes out of your mouth feels important, like it's something he needs to remember, like it's something that might give him more insight into who you are - another layer of you, maybe even one that only Uvogin ever gets to see.

And of course, once it's written down, he can't just throw it away. He has to keep them - just in case something you said becomes relevant. Just in case you mention something about him - the large man who passed you on the street today, but you were too busy with your nose buried in your phone to notice. The large man who was at the other end of the aisle in the grocery store as you agonized over which flavor of ice cream to buy with your limited budget.

And as for the placement of where he keeps all these scribbled records of your every phone call and interaction, well, it's really a no brainer. It was the only spot that wasn't already full with something relating to you.

Every cabinet, drawer, closet, shelf, nook, and cranny in his apartment is full of you you you. He's got everything his greedy hands could get ahold of - your underwear, chapstick, button, and bandaid, of course, but there's more. It ranges from things that are less disturbing - normal, even, like a pair of earrings or a hairbrush - to things that are just a little more suspicious. (Like your old toothbrushes - yes, plural - or your haribrush.) Things that could be considered totally understandable (if not a big extreme) and not creepy if you and Uvogin were actually a couple.

And then, of course, there's the more intimate items, the things you had the displeasure of stumbling upon - your panties, for example, and if you were to peruse through the cabinets below the sink in the bathroom you'd find all sorts of menstrual supplies, with your favorite brands, the right products for your flow, even the dinky menstrual cup you'd tried on a whim because a friend recommended it. (Yes, you'd thrown it away because it'd been too messy when you took it out and yes, Uvogin searched through your trash bag just to find it.)

He may come off as this big, imposing, simple, one-track-minded man, but he's not. At least, not only those things. Uvogin is smart - and as most yanderes with brains tend to do, his obsession teeters much more on the side of collecting information about you than you'd expect. He's just honestly curious about you in every way - he's clingy and needy and wants you, so badly that it hurts, and collecting your things was a way to help alleviate some of that ache before he could properly be with you.

So while he didn't want you to find any of his stolen goods, frankly, it was inevitable - any storage space (except the room he houses you in - just because he'd be tempting fate if he asked you not to root through anything in the modest closet or drawer set he's assigned to you) contains evidence and proof that Uvogin didn't just randomly get stuck with you. It was all purposeful, planned, calculated - and you, poor sweet little you, just had the misfortune of finding that out much too early.

Ignorance really is bliss, isn't it?

A bark comes from the other side of a door. Not any door….BELLAS door. yes I meet her at her Home.

The door opens and a little barking dog runns all around me excited to meet me. As soon as Bellas voice echoed in my ears skipper just sits beside her while she gets prepared for the walk.

"morning", bella says and put on the leash on skipper. "good morning" I greet her.

"isnt it a bit too cold outside for shorts?" I look at her with worries in my eyes. "its ok. I`m often outside, got an active immunsystem" he giggles proudly as we all start to walk into the beautiful world that is surrounded by huge trees, mountains and a small and absolutely clear river.

I look at skipper and smile. "I saw the post of yours on Insta. it is awesome that you adopted skipper."

"yeah skipper was on set and I instantly fell in love with the little cutie" she says happy while taking out the ball, throws it after making skipper off the leash.

"You both are such cuties" realizing I wasn't thinking I grab a stone and just throw it into the river while she looks like she's frozen for a moment with a noticable blush. Im moving on and can feel her gaze on me. Bellas heart starts to race and she tries to find the right words. "Y/N…What is this betwe---"

the mobile of her interrups suddenly the sentence I really wanted to hear.

"Ramsey hello?…….ah..yeah just go ahead…..no…sounds interresting…" that was a total lie. I can clearly see something is burden him.

"but how early?………in 2 days!?" he seems to getting really nervous.

"yes….no there is no problem. Will be there then…it`s still calgary?…ok yes thank you and see you there. bye" she puts her mobile back in her pocked obviously stressed out with a sad face.

"is everything ok? something happen?" I make my way to her as close as I can. "that was Neil Druckman….He asked if I could come sooner as he is currently casting a lot of people for Season 2 including the cast for Dina and he would like me to be there to make sure there is chemistry between me and the Dina cast."

Dont be a dick right now I thought to myself and put on the best fakesmile ever. "but that sounds good! Thats the best way to make this show even better." I pretend but yeah truly that wasn't a lie. "When earlier you must leave? in a week?" I don't realize how serious things getting right now.

"2 days…." she says in a frustrating way and grabs skippers leash only to move on quietly. "Bella…there will be friends on set right? pedro and all the new friends you gonna meet!

"I'll be gone for like 1 or 2 years. yeah great I mean....shit I cant believe this is happening!" she starts to arguing with a face as if Lady Mormont itself wanna cut your head of. Scary and so cute at the same time.

"But this is your chance to make it big again! what the hell is your problem!?" honestly right now Im really confused. She looks at me and I can feel my soul leaving my body.

"BUT you're not with me!"

oh…wait what? She looks at me like a puppy who got lost. "you're a really good friend and sometimes on set it's so boring. most of the time they want to do their work and after that Im in my hotelroom…just me." I am not shure if this is the true reason like…come on they seem to have so much fun on set.

Bu…did….did she just friendzoned me?

I could work from my Laptop I thought to myself and took a deep breath. "well how get we gonna managing this? in 2 days? I need to do some things that's left" I start

"I will talk to my manager and fix everything if you want" she looks at skipper who's just sitting beside her trying to comfort her. "that's huge bella" I admit but smile slightly at her."

"well ok so than lets start and get ready for the flight" I say calm and she smiles so bright even the sun seems dark. I look deep in her eyes and a red shade on her cheeks find its way.

Our way seperate after the walk and I manage to get work and flight together. There's only one problem………

Again a knock on the door. Skipper barks again and the door swings open.

"hey aaaah….." staying here infront of my future wife with all my luggage. "the flight is in two days Y/N" obviously looking confused.

" yeah there is only one thing. I gave notice of my apartment for a whole year, but that counts from today and not just in 2 days.

Now I'm standing here and wanted to ask you if I could sleep at your home." She laughs and let me in. "It's not very big and I only have one bed but I just sleep on the couch" she says while showing me around. "No no, I sleep on the couch, no problem." I just wave with my hands.

Looking to her there is this feeling again. I'm slowly but surely becoming aware of what it means to have this tingling sensation. it drives me crazy and the thought of being close to her is almost painful. I don't know where I stand with her anymore but definitely not in the 'come on let's cuddle zone'.

She just want to be friends with me. I hate my fucking feelings and I try my best to ignore.

I already thought she might feel the same but I was so wrong….so fucking wrong it makes me sick. Sometimes I wish I have a Damon that could just stop feeling any emotions but I just watched to much vampire diaries.

"it's late, I make some dinner and go shower. if you want we can watch a movie later." she grabs some ingredients in her kitchen.

"sounds good! You need a hand for something?"

"no it's ok. if you want you can shower first", he looks to me with a questioning face and I agreed.

"you have a towel? or is it enough to come out of the shower completely naked?" I simply ask cought him offguard looking completely blushing at all my words. here we go I can't stop teasing him.

While I'm in the shower I thought deeply about telling her how I feel. I just can't go with her and not even touch her for once. Being in love with someone you can't have is pure agony.

"smells good" I come out of the shower and really thought about to just tease her more and changing my clothes in front of her. I smirk and was about to drop my towel when she immediatly turns arround and disappears into the bathroom.

I giggle and take a bowl of food eating and waiting for her to come out. After 30 minutes I started to worry and went to the door.

"Bella are you ok?" I carefully listened to what she is saying. "Yes, everything is fine," she conveyed to me. Lie…….. and I didn't know that because she's sitting in the shower letting the water run over her the whole time. Bella was confused and she is more than aware of what is happening here. Too shy to admit what she's feeling, she prefers to swallow all the great feelings and hope it goes away. funny because that's absolutely hopeless. it's getting worse, more and also….she friendzoned me."shit…." she mumblet.

I make myself comfortable on the couch and wait impatiently when she finally comes out in an oversized hoodie and shorts. She gives me a nervous smile and sits on her bed with her bowl.

"ok movie..any favorite you want to watch?" I ask and wait for her to awnser. "I'v never watched Jurassic Park so why not this?" she ask and I agree.

I start the movie and make myself comfortable on her bed beside her ignoring my heartbeat that just dance like a fire in the wind. Bella looks to the TV and follows the story.

I lay back with my Hands behind my Head. Jeeeeezz I can feel the Air is getting more intense and I don't blame it cause hell there is sitting an absolutely beautiful guuurl beside me not knowing what I feel, not knowing that my heart gets electrocuted by her smile. I coul'd just take her face in my hands and kiss her blessed soul out of her.

I didn't even realize that my eyes only watching him. Studying every corner of his face and hell this is painfull when you can't do the things you really wan't to do. Thoughts are buzzing in my head that even scare me.

She's been looking at me…the whole time and I'm so preoccupied I don't even realize it. My heart is literally jumping and my whole body can't take the tension anymore.

"Don't you want to finish your question from the day before?" I say without averting my eyes.

"I already did…" she whispers as if trying with all her might to keep up the lie but failing.

"than say it…again" I come closer like I want to intimidate her.

She blushes and I can clearly hear her breath goes wild. I already know the answer and still words wouldn't be enough for me. The gap between us is getting smaller and smaller so that I can feel her breath on my lips when suddenly her mobile rings. AGAIN ..I swear that thing has something against us.

She completely shreeks up and takes her phone. She answers with a trembling voice. "H… hello? No, Mom, you're not disturbing me right now." Her face turned bright red, first looking at me and than very quickly to her lap. She can brush her mum off while I got up in time to have a drink. crap…. I just thought silently. It's getting late now, so I decide to lie down on the couch and turn off the TV.

"good night Y/N" she lays down in her bed and it's like I can hear still her breath.

As if the breathing almost becomes a whimper. I wake up and see that it is totally dark outside. a look at the clock tells me that it's already 2:42am. The whimper comes from Bella's direction so I just turn around again. Is she crying? I startle immediately and walk carefully to her bed. There she lies… curled up and asleep. She must be having a nightmare.

"No…" I only hear a very low murmur. Enough of that…. I just snuggle up with her under the covers behind her back. An arm wraps around her as I snuggle my face in her hair. She smells so good I have to keep my thoughts to myself. She feels me and startles, turning to me out of breath but hiding her face on my neck.

In the corner of my eye I can see that she is quite red with slight tears in her eyes. I just smile, caress her cheek and literally feel my heart want to erupt. I give her a hint of a kiss on the cheek and close my eyes as I wait for her breathing to become more regular.

There's only us…only you and me I thought smiling and fell asleep together with her in my arms.

WOOP WOOP that was soooo freak'n cute to write and that's just the beginning <333 there will be more Chapter and next chapter is getting moooore snuggle loveydovey <333 :P

maeumi & me - ch 12 : is this the thanks i get?

a/n : this chapter alternates between tweets and written parts so be sure to read them in order! and as always ignore the timestamps. if you saw me post a different version of this on friday, no you didn't :3

Jungwon looks up from his phone, chuckling at you, Jake and Sunghoon arguing once again over your choice of movie. The others were too busy in the kitchen to care. But Jungwon sure was having a little too much fun watching you enjoy yourself testing his friends. He thought you were so adorable when you were mischievous; he liked this fun, playful and kind of badass side of you that liked horror movies.

You happen to catch his eye then, and he looks away blushing. You feel your cheeks getting hot too, for some weird reason. Then as if remembering something, Jungwon gets up and walks into one of the other rooms and emerges a few seconds later holding a paper bag. To your surprise, he comes straight to you and hands it over.

“My friends and I happened to see this while we were out the other day and we thought you'd like it,” he explains sheepishly.

You're too busy looking at what's inside to notice Jake and Sunghoon whipping their heads up simultaneously, furrowed brows and confused faces silently questioning Jungwon.

“Jake! Hoon!” Jay calls from the kitchen just then, “I need you to have a bite of this and tell me if it tastes the same as last time,”

The two gladly excuse themselves, leaving you alone with Jungwon and a soft toy replica of your pet. You take it in your hands, your heart swelling.

“Do you like it?” Jungwon asks hesitantly, sitting next to you.

“I LOVE it! You guys really didn't have to, but thank you soo much!”

You had actually been worrying a little about how you were gonna be able to sleep without Maeumi, since you had gotten so used to having him snuggled up next to you all night. So it was kind of uncanny how perfect this gift was. You teared up a little, you hadn't expected this at all. It might seem like just a simple gift but you're so touched because it means so much to you.

Jungwon notices you dab at your eye and looks concerned. He's about to say something but you silence him with a stern look. “If you tell anyone about this, I will have Maeumi piss your bed.” You know you would never hear the end of it, especially from Riki, if he found out you got emotional over a stuffed animal.

“Woooww is this the thanks I get?” he pretends to be offended and you both laugh.

You wonder why you hadn't become friends with him much earlier. He's sweet, funny, mature, has a lot in common with you, and it's so fun to hang out with him. And he's so cute. That's normal, right? To think of your friends as cute? Of course it is, you call Sunoo cute all the time. But wait, this feels a bit different. Ah, whatever. You're probably overthinking it.

“Yn I think you're gonna love my masterpiece,” Riki's voice startles you both and you sit up straight, shuffling away to make space in between for Riki, despite the fact that there's plenty of seat available on either side of you and Jungwon.

“Pfft please, Jay did like 80% of the work,” Heeseung corrects, flopping down next to you.

“Ok but still, that 20% is important. It has the power to make or break the dish,” he argues and Heeseung rolls his eyes.

You show them the plushie Jungwon and his friends got you, and they all agree that it was indeed very sweet of them. “Okay but put it back inside quickly because if Maeumi sees it he'll mistake it for a chew toy,”

Meanwhile Jungwon quietly slips away to join his friends in the kitchen.

“Uhh Won, what was that?” Jake asks, referring to what had happened earlier.

Jungwon just shrugs. “I was being careful, like you guys asked. Figured me giving them the plushie might be a bit overkill. But if they think it's from all of us, it won't seem like such a big thing, right?”

The three older guys share a look, impressed.

After dinner, the guys slowly start leaving one by one until it's just you left with Jungwon. It's partly because you're reluctant to leave Maeumi and partly because when you leave, you'll have to face reality again. You'll be starting a new chapter of your life and you have no idea how it'll go. You'll have to start packing your own stuff to move in at the dorm, and this time there'll be no tiny pitter-patter of paws following you around. You decide to leave once Maeumi falls asleep, which to your disappointment, happens soon enough.

Jungwon comes to see you off at the door. “I know you're a little tense,” he says, picking up on your mood, “but this might not be as bad as you think. It'll get easier, and the 3 years will be over before you know it,”

You smile, nodding. “Yeah, I suppose you're right,”

“And remember, we're just a couple of minutes away. You can come see him anytime you want.”

“Thanks a lot for doing this again. It really means so much,” you give him a hug, and immediately regret it when you feel him stiffen. You step back, say an awkward goodbye and leave. God, what were you thinking? Well, you didn't think. That was the problem. You surprised yourself with that hug, to be honest. But God, Jungwon must think you're so weird. Ughh, you-

“I think you should stay over,” he blurts out just as you're at the gate.

You stop in your tracks. “What?”

Build Up episode 3: Jay versus Wumuti

Hello and welcome back to my Build Up episode recaps! In the previous post, we saw Seunghun from CIX and Neon go up against former member of Romeo, Ma Jaekyung, and “student who likes ballads,” Yoon Inhwan. In this one, Bitsaeon from M.O.N.T. and Jay go up against Wumuti and Kang Hayoon. Yes, that’s right, it’s a Boys Planet face off! Let’s do this!

As the guys come up onstage, the judges notice that both teams chose Western pop songs to cover -- specifically, songs by Charlie Puth and Harry Styles. 

The judges react specifically to Jay and Bitsaeon’s coordinating outfits. 

OMG. The s w e a t e r s. Yes. This is what I want. MORE SWEATERS.

They introduce themselves by singing their team name -- Sweet and Salty -- to the tune of Beethoven’s Fifth symphony. You know -- dun dun dun DUN.

Bitsaeon, left, claims he’s the sweet one and Jay says he’s the salty one, then they do some aegyo. 

At first glance, it looked like Wumuti and Hayoon are wearing white button downs, but no, on closer inspection, they are wearing….

S W E A T E R S

They introduce themselves as “Golden Boys/Voice” (saying the words in English). Since “Voice” and “Boys” sound almost identical with a Korean accent, I’m not sure which one they actually mean, but I think it’s a play on words at least. Wumuti says he’s “sexy and soft voiced.” I’ll leave that to you, the viewer, to agree or disagree with. Hayoon has a “unique” voice. 

We’re reminded that Jay did very well in the first round, and go into a flashback to their time in the Rival Choosing Platform Area (RCPA), which is frightening not just because it’s surrounded by terrifying blurs….

.. but also because it’s where your fate is determined!

But no one seems to want to challenge them. 

Jay mentions that he’s worked with Bitsaeon a lot, and we see this amazing old footage of younger Bitsaeon and Jay with Different Hair:

As I mentioned in my initial write up, Jay was part of a program to add more members to Bitsaeon’s group M.O.N.T., which wanted to have a sort of open-member concept kind of like NCT, I think. Although that never really worked out in terms of Jay actually joining, I assumed it would have meant that Jay and Bitsaeon would have gotten to know each other, and yep, I was right. 

Since no one will step up to the RCPA, Jay and Bitsaeon are allowed to choose a rival, and chose a pop vocalist team to make the match up appropriate. Side note: I’m going to just call Bitsaeon “Bit”, ok, gang? 

Jay mentions that he’s known Wumuti for five years. I also mentioned that in my write up that this is their third reality show in a row together.

 Wumuti says he’s the hyung in this relationship, and Jay puts his arm around Bit, who is older than both of them, as if to say “I have a better hyung now!” I don’t like this. Ok. 

Some time later, Bit and Jay unfold a nice folding table in a gray room with partitioned walls, put on a pair of almost matching fleece jackets, and pretend to talk strategy so that the camera can record them choosing the song they probably already chose off-camera much earlier. But it’s a pretty great scene. 

Jay and Bit say, “I think they’ll choose to do a female song.”

Smash cut to Hayoon and Wumuti in a different gray room with a much nicer table, who are in fact saying, 

… “What if we do a female song? Like, maybe something by Ariana Grande?”

Cut back to Jay and Bit: “I bet they’d choose something by Ariana Grande.” 

Back to Wumuti, who says, “I think Jay will want to do something by his role model, Bruno Mars.”

Cut back to Jay, saying, “I want to do a Bruno Mars song.”

Wumuti says he’s known Jay for five years, and they know a little too much about each other. We see a shot of Baby Jay and Baby Wu. 

“Two kids with the same kpop dream met”

I kind of get it -- when you are living in a place where you don’t speak the language that well, if you meet someone else who isn’t from that place, you kind of end up hanging out a lot. It happened to me when I was working for a royal family in an Arab country. I’ve had a weird life so far, my chingoos. 

They decide on Dangerously by Charlie Puth, because it’s high pitch, high risk, high reward. Bit says he really wants the “killing part” with the one high pitched “I love you!” standing out with a vocal “scratch.” 

I wonder, says I, I says, I wonder if they’re going to show us that part three or four times?????

My thoughts:

First off, really good song choice. It’s catchy, but it wasn’t a mega hit like “Attention” or “We Don’t Talk Any More.” It’s emotional, kind of sexy, with lots of opportunities to show off vocal skills. Really, perfect song choice.

Jay, again, was just amazing. His vocal color is obviously gorgeous, but he also seems to have worked out his issues with pitch and nasality. His adlibs and little growls add to the song appropriately. He was occasionally slightly screetchy, but it worked in the context of this song. His little mannerisms do slightly remind me of Dana Carvey’s “Choppin’ Broccoli” bit, but I guess in a hyper-regimented, always pre-planned world of Kpop, that kind of thing is to be expected. 

Working with Jay is a blessing and a curse. His voice is so impossibly pretty that it makes it likely that you’ll win the challenge, but it also means that anyone else’s voice is going to sound worse in comparison. And that’s what happened to Bitsaeon here. 

Bitsaeon’s voice is lovely, with good agility and a well-developed upper mix. He also pronounces the English really well -- possibly Jay gave him some tips. I don’t love the tone of his falsetto, and he also could get a little shrieky sometimes, but he’s never pitchy or nasal. As good as he was -- and he was really good! -- he just doesn’t have quite as pretty of a voice as Jay does. But I mean, almost no one does.

Their voices blend together well and the harmonies they worked out sounded great. 

The MNET edit for all these songs always seems to be about emphasizing how good everyone is, and this one is no exception. 

So, fun fact: I watched the performance itself while I was traveling for work. I have Youtube premium so I can download videos, and I downloaded as many ep3 videos as I could to try to get a head start on this episode. When I saw Jay doing the whole “growl then fall backward like you’re spent” part of the song, I was like -- I bet in the MNET edit, they show that part like, five times. They were pretty restrained though and only showed two of his parts twice each. I mean, they also showed the judges jumping to their feet and hugging each other so there was that. They also did an instant replay of Bit hitting a super high note, so that was good.

Looks like most of the judges stayed on their feet for the whole last third of the performance. 

When they’re done, the judges give them a standing ovation and the guys backstage wonder if their low score will be 100. 

The score is revealed: 

Baekho, Solar, and Jaehwan gave it a 100, and the low score from Eunkwang was 97. That means that the other judges gave 98s and 99s. 

It’s… pretty wild. How on earth can Wumuti and Kang Hayoon beat this? They decide to just sing their song and not worry about it. 

Dahee asks the judges for feedback. Baekho said he felt like he was just watching a concert -- nothing to judge. And Jay’s voice is so catchy, it’s good regardless of personal preference. We’re reminded of those parts that got the instant replays.

Jaehwan says he wants to be a CEO and recruit artists like them. Dahee asks, why not actually them instead of just artists like them? And he says, hey, I can’t right now, I just got a full time job finally, I can barely take care of myself!

VCG gives some love to Bit, which is nice to see. He really did great -- I really do love his upper mix. 

Seungkwan from Seventeen says, “I learned. I was humbled and even jealous. That’s how overwhelming your stage was. You did a great job. Thank you.”

Up next, it’s the other team, who come out calmly as if they didn’t just see their competitors get three perfect scores. 

Wumuti says he’s known Jay for five years, and that Jay is so good it made him and Hayoon even better. 

We flashback to episode one and see Wumuti hearing Hayoon’s voice for the first time and just loving it.

Sure, he did approach Gwangseok first, but Hayoon is who he really wanted. Wumuti says he wants to give a shocking performance, a song with bold colors and extreme details. 

We see Wumuti and Hayoon rehearsing in some sort of place with t-shirts and art and merch…? 

I tried to search for info on this stuff but didn’t find anything, so if you have light to shed, please do!

They spent a while picking the right song, which I think is smart. There’s another team that we’ll see in episode 4 that I kind of think chose their song too quickly -- we’ll get to them. But they ultimately decide on Harry Styles’ Falling. 

Hayoon says he thinks a lot of people could empathize with the lyrics, and  Wumuti feels like it relates to him and his struggles to debut.

My thoughts:

I like Wumuti so much as a person -- I think he’s charming and I really like his optimistic, hard working attitude toward life. Also, I generally really like his singing voice, which is sweet with a nice bit of texture. His occasional belts are strong and lovely. That said, I think his voice can sometimes be a little nasal and he might need to work a little bit on his breath control, as sometimes he runs out of breath on a line or two. Regardless of those slight issues, I think this was a lovely performance, both vocally and emotionally.

I find myself kind of on the fence about Kang Hayoon’s voice. Sometimes the vocal color and stylistic choices are so overwhelming and affected that it’s a bit too much for me. But I think this was my favorite performance of his. He toned down the nasality and let what I think might be his “real voice” shine through. He did occasionally get a bit shrill on some of his louder belts -- a bit challenging to listen to, for me, like a tiny bit nails-on-the-chalkboard. Overall, though, I did really enjoy this performance. 

I know it’s weird to say for someone who recaps competitive reality shows, but competition isn’t my favorite part of all this, and I wish I could just say that both performances were good in their own way without taking a stance on which performance was better. But I also know that part of what I’m doing here is giving my opinions. So for me, I just enjoyed Jay and Bitsaeon’s a tiny bit more. There were a few notes that sounded a tiny bit off for me in this.  But they were both great and I enjoyed them both a lot.

The MNET edit continues the theme of just falling all over itself to say how good Kang Hayoon is, and sometimes I wonder if I’m the only person who doesn’t think he’s the obvious best vocalist on the show? Not saying he’s bad, just that a lot of people on this show are as good or possible a bit better than him. Tons of talent on this show! 

Everyone listening is very quiet, listening. When they’re done, there’s a moment of silence as people kind of wallow in the feeling, and then the judges all stand up. And Wumuti is crying! He explains that he felt like he was singing the words to a mirror, to the Wumuti who keeps running toward his dream of debut. 

“If one day, the stage doesn’t need someone like me anymore, what should I do then?”

The judges try to vote, but they’re kind of overwhelmed. 

The votes come in, and… commercial break!!!... the votes are revealed!

Everyone gave a 100 except for Eunkwang, who gave a 98, and Baekho, who must have given a 99. We can tell that this is a 697 point performance. Wow.

I feel bad for Jay and Bitsaeon. They got a higher score than almost anyone else but they’re still going to be up for elimination. This show is awful, isn’t it? Sigh. 

Everyone teases Eunkwang about his “low score” of 98, and then we get some feedback. 

VCG says he wished he had known back on Boys Planet how good of a singer Wumuti actually is, especially if he sits down and sings. Hey, VCG, *I* noticed it even in Zoom, when Wumuti’s awesome “LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION BABY!” right before Haruto’s dance break really was a highlight. Anyway, VCG says he’s glad Wumuti is on this show so that he can really show his vocals. 

They also heap a lot of praise on Hayoon, saying he’s a genius.

Jaehwan says, "I want to give you all the compliments of the world." Aww! That's great. 

Seungkwan says it was his first time awarding 100 points, and mentions that it was at least partly because they showed their mettle to pull off such a good performance right after the previous team. 

Eunkwang says he deducted one point for each so that they don’t get too egotistical. 

When the judges are done giving their feedback, Dahee brings back Jay and Bit to find out the winner, although it’s obvious if you pay attention to the numbers at all.

The guys exchange hugs. The judges say that there aren’t any losers here, but Jay and Bit lose, 693 to 697. 

Wumuti thanks the judges for their kind words, and then thanks Jay and Bit for motivating them to work harder. Jay looks completely unbothered -- I think voting is going to decide who stays and who goes, and if so, I think Jay knows that he’s going to stay. Jay and Wumuti tease each other a bit and it really doesn’t seem like there’s any hard feelings. 

Emotionally, I can’t help but be glad that Wumuti got the win because I think he really needed it psychologically, but I still enjoyed the first performance a little more. I really don’t want to lose Bitsaeon either. Maybe we won’t? We’ll see, I guess.

Then we get a bit of a teaser for the next performance. Looks like the next episode will begin with Seokhwa from WEi and Woong from AB6IX going up against the two trainees, Ji Yeonwoo and Jeong Yunseo. 

Finally, we get the current standings (as of episode 3).

Been thinking about what kind of interaction haruka and seto would have since they never spoke with each other (from what i know), but i think they'd be the cutest together because they're both so... idk i just love them (they are my wiwis you have to understand). you know im always talking about post str haruka keeping a little distance from the dan cuz he knows them but they dont know him and etc etc etc etc. well! i actually hc that outside takane shintaro and ayano of course, SETO is the one member of the dan haruka is very good friends with in early post str. and thats cuz.... he is also the one member of the dan (again outside the quartet)haruka has actually spoken to before being konoha!!! its time for me to talk about the novels again❤️

IM ABT TO KAGEXPLAIN TO YOU BUT ILL GET TO SETOMARY & HARUTAKA AT THE END and my hcs on their dynamics :3 but first let me tell u abt seto&haruka's and mary&takanes friendships. spoilers duh

in the sixth novel, haruka stays over at kenjirou's house for 1 week while he works on the game with him. there haruka meets ayano for the first time, and finds out mr tateyama has FOUR kids. despite haruka is pranked a little by these mysterious 3 siblings he never meets them directly. its rly funny cuz haruka's like can i introduce myself to them i mean im gonna be staying for a week. and ayano's like WHAT. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. and harukas like ok damn i guess i wont meet them

but haruka DOES meet seto during his stay! its one of my FAVORITE chapters of the whole novel. this bit has a 2 page illustration cmon!!!!!!! SETOS HAMSTER BITES HARUKAS FOOT

ok erm anyway. chapter summary of seto&haruka's interaction: haruka went to buy some snacks at the convenience store at night, and when he comes in seto's hamster hanao BITES his damn foot!!!!!! (attacker shown on pic) seto rushes right over like NOOOO HANAOOO

haruka and seto share an awkward greeting bc seto wants to run away asap but haruka's rly desperate to meet him so he invites him to eat the free pudding he won at the grocery store and seto accepts. then they sit and chat while eating pudding :3

haruka invites seto to come to the festival, seto thanks him but says he cant bc he's bad with crowds and he also has a job interview for being a part time paperboy. he assures him his other siblings will show up (as we know, kido and kano do show up but haruka never knew they were ayano and setos siblings at that point!!!)

when seto starts talking abt this job interview he mentions his mom is dead. in that conversation haruka finds out about ayaka. idk about the original line in japanese, but haruka says "mr tateyama's wife is dead?" because of course from his pov the shock comes from his relationship with kenjirou. he feels rly bad that kenjirou acts all happy and normal at school while going through this. seto acts surprised haruka didn't know

haruka expresses sadness over being such a pain for kenjirou then, but seto says that's not true and that kenjirou talks about him all the time. *pretends to be normal about kenjirou*

seto reveals kenjirou called haruka his pride and joy while drunk, which makes haruka tear up. while drunk he also said he'd bring haruka over to make him be ayano's boyfriend lmao and seto says he and kano&kido freaked out about it and were like WE WILL PROTECT U FOR THIS GUY NEECHAN😡😡😡 WHICH IS LIKE. A LAYER OF CONTEXT TO A BIT THAT HAPPENS EARLIER IN THE NOVEL bc they give haruka A REALLY HARD TIME when he arrives and its basically implied they did this bc they were afraid he was gonna hit on ayano lol (jin jokes in his author's notes he literally wanted haruka to hit on ayano literally for shit and giggles but his editor was like dude this is ooc can you take this fucking seriously)

it's also implied seto read haruka's mind when he arrived and since haruka had been thinking of takane and being kind of... he was like her hair her eyes her lips etcetc he was just.... being a 16 year old about it. and seto assumed it was about ayano, told his siblings and there kano went in disguised as ayano to give haruka a piece of his mind. honestly read the sixth novel its hilarious idk if its cuz its a novel with all my faves but its one of the best erm anyways back to the pudding chapter

before seto goes his eye power activates and he basically almost collapses or something. haruka gets rly worried but seto is able to calm down and he leaves. i hc that in this scene seto found out haruka was dying. i dont have proof other than seto probably read his mind there. but i like the hc😄

anyways!! fast forward to the end of the eighth novel, seto (and mary and hibiya) are in the real world while literally everyone else is dead inside the daze. they make a phonecall because of reasons i wont explain and everyone is screaming into it trying to talk to the outside guys, and haruka has a single line where he says "kousuke its me haruka!!!!! remember when we had that pudding together 2 years ago!!!!" hehe its so cute im so glad jin added that

basically. haruka and seto BEST FRIENDS. when haruka is back post str he would be very comfortable with seto and seto would for sure approach haruka and hang out with him. i definitely think haruka's the closest to seto outside of the yuukei quartet!!! like come on theyd be such good friends🥺 i was thinking of harutaka cat last night and i 1000% think seto is the one to find them a pet. seto is always taking haruka to see cats

NOW!!! MARY&TAKANE!!! they definitely don't have as much interaction as haruka&seto bc jin would rather die than write proper scenes for his female characters alone However it is said they hit it off immediately when they meet! ene makes an unforgettable comment abt mary and momo being gay which mary doesnt understand and momo like a good kisaragi wants to kill ene. anyways thats a little funny one

ill talk what i remember the most! the fourth novel: shintaro wakes up and finds mary complaining she can't talk to ene and it turns out shintaro's phone has no battery. shintaro explains the concept of a Charger and Electricity and Mary's like whoa ene eats some weird stuff huh

so she starts looking for a charger. shintaro tells her not to hurry bc theyre better off without her anyways and mary gets mad at him and tells him to stop MEAN to ene!!!!! and says she must ALSO feel lonely in there!!!! and shintaro's like o_o!! ok damn!!!!

that's the only mary&takane i can think of. but they're really good friends i think takane's as much of a tease to her as she is to everyone but mary doesnt always understand LOL but they get along well :3 theyre besties :3 like for real mary momo & ene have a girl gang that could rule the world.

then mary finds some snakeskin in a drawer with the charger and shintaro and kido almost shit their pants etcetc BUT when mary got mad, shintaro has some rly cute thoughts about ene. he remarks how absolutely no one in the dan ever questioned what the hell is ene or how she works, bc theyre all weirdos so of course they dont question other weirdos(and one of my fave shinene lines, where shintaro admits hes developed an affinity for her and that it's because of her he met all these nice people and she might as well be his salvation *fucking explodes*) anyways. he thinks ofc mary and ene hit it off. i think its so cute that mary wanted to talk to ene and just took shintaros phone to do it!!

anyways. THEYRE ALL BEST FRIENDS :3 :3 :3 :3 setomary & harutaka double date is totally possible. and we should get seto&takane to be best friends too like i think theyd be sooooo funny together. i ALWAYS say when takane gets her body back there is no way she could walk so comfortably like she does and since seto (and kano) are there i hc seto carries her back to the hideout from the lab💥💥💥

Hi yes hello! Sorry for the late response! And how long this post is gonna be!

AU number 69 is called "Ink-Black Anxiety"! The very short version of what it is goes as follows:

It's a Kel-centric AU very heavily inspired by Hello Charlotte, an RPGmaker game series by etherane. I say "heavily inspired" when really the plot of the AU follows the first two episodes (+ Delirium for the "alt route") of hellchar pretty faithfully, even if it doesn't actually have the same character dynamics or anything. Episode 3 is not included in this AU in any way. That's another AU, a specifically Hello Charlotte fusion focused on Sunny. (...or is it?)

If you know how hellchar 1+2 goes, you probably know the plot already. I'll reveal the longer version of the plot (what I have as of writing this) below these next few paragraphs, so if you don't know what hellchar is, please check it out for yourself! Manlybadasshero on youtube has played it in full, and I think both the first and second episodes are free (may be wrong about the second one, so make sure of that yourself)! It's on Steam for sure. If you like OMORI, you'll probably enjoy Hello Charlotte as well!

Things to know about Ink-Black Anxiety: Mari is alive and well in this AU. Kel plays Charlotte's role. Kel is nonbinary. Their design quite literally uses the colours of the nonbinary flag. Proof right below (also take that as your final warning if you don't want to see major hellchar spoilers).

Ok if you're ready then here we go. Buckle up.

Ink-Black Anxiety follows closely the plot of hellchar 1 & 2. Some major scenes included. Deviates from it quite a lot as well, it's not a carbon copy or anything.

Kel, Hero and Aubrey decide to have a sleepover at the brothers' house at some point before the recital. Hero is running late to it because of some school-related things. Kel and Aubrey decide to watch TV or something while Hero's still not home, only to find that they can actually go through the screen to inside the TV. They get separated for a bit, reunite, solve some puzzles. Aubrey gets beheaded. Kel changes the channel, and Aubrey is alive. They visit a couple different channels until they find a way back home, but before they leave, a deity (pretty much the Oracle from hellchar) offers to get Kel and Aubrey home, and uses Kel's body to get them home safely.

...this is where it starts getting really messed up.

While Kel recalls that after coming back he waited around a little and then fell asleep, and simply woke up in the morning like usual, Hero remembers it going very differently.

Hero comes home pretty late into the evening, and finds Aubrey on the floor (seems to just be asleep), while Kel is next to her in midair, flesh rapidly twisting itself all over, bones cracking, gore and horror. Hero runs away and doesn't come back for a couple hours. When he does, it seems that Kel is back to normal and is asleep. Hero gets them both into beds, and stays up, unable to forget what he saw. When Aubrey wakes up, she complains about soreness in her body, as if she spent the majority of the night on the floor. Kel comes as usual, but Hero can't shake off the memory of earlier that night. He pretends it's nothing, that maybe it's just severe exhaustion, his imagination, him being unable to tell apart real from fake.

The next portion is set roughly 3 years after that, and Kel's changed a lot throughout the years. His hair is longer, implying that the haircut session before the recital did not take place. He also wears baggier clothes that hide his silhouette, and tends to prefer long skirts (wearing tights underneath) and big sweaters. The lighter purple cardigan is actually Mari's, as are the skirt and the yellow ribbon-tie whatever that's called. Kel originally wanted the one headspace Mari is always depicted having, and he and Sunny even kind of fought over it, but Mari gave Kel an identical yellow one, which he appeared to be satisfied with.

With years, Kel grows much taller, and while Mari's cardigan didn't really stop fitting him at all, he felt uncomfortable in it, so he gave it back. Hero gets him a new one, darker purple, which Kel is very happy with. Kel also gets a new skirt of practically the same style and colour.

It's heavily implied that Kel was into piano since before the recital, but he's kept it under wraps from anyone but Mari (and Sunny, but only because they couldn't exactly keep it a secret from him). Eventually, Mari lets it slip in a conversation, and Kel reluctantly shows off his skills. Not anything too impressive, but he's not terrible. Hero and Sunny are particularly fascinated by the song Kel plays, and decide to try and figure out everything about it, while Mari laughs and says she'd rather ask Kel for that directly like a normal person.

All this time, that deity oracle thing has been inside Kel, and it kind of follows the same kinda rules as in hellchar, meaning that one body can't contain it in full, that said body will deteriorate under its influence together with it, and that the presence of it in a body is indicated by the person coughing up ink. Which seems to be triggered by severe stress and panic attacks and stuff. Kel was originally handling it fine, but eventually, the mental illness won (/hj) and that, especially combined with the deity's destructive nature, made Kel more anxious, melancholic and subdued compared to what he used to be like.

Kel tried to keep himself together and be happy despite everything, but in doing that, he essentially tricked himself into thinking that every piece of attention to him was positive attention, that everyone loved him and wanted best for him, just like he did for everyone else. That wasn't always necessarily true, as Kel was very much being made a fool out of at school by certain groups of people, notably some classmates. At one point, it turned into straight up bullying, and culminated when Kel was cornered and held down while they chopped off his hair. From then on, Kel can't really ignore the state of things anymore.

Somewhere around that time, everyone finds out about the ink, and Hero starts really doubting his career choice, thinking that maybe it'd be best if he did become a doctor, since Kel's condition is something he's never seen before. (happens at maximum a few weeks before Hero and Mari's senior year graduation)

Kel has some kind of psychotic break? Question mark? Ngl the end of this au is still in the works lmao. But the main point is that this AU's equivalent of "trial day" is Hero and Mari's graduation day.

Uhhh that's about it for what this AU currently has to offer, I think! Hellchar 2 is incredibly dear to me, and I'm very happy to have this kind of AU. Hellchar 2 changed my life forever and I'll be damned you all need to feel that with me.

Ok middle left is catalina, like i mentioned earlier. Actually ive posted him before, hes a catalan shapeshifter who likes to pretend to be a human amongst people to troll them mostly teehee :P hes a (lvl 46) witchdoctor in game but in his lore he just knows some magic.

34: what are the hardest and easiest parts of the game for you?

OK SOOOOO I love the strategy of it all TBH. It was really hard at first but ive picked it up pretty well i think. The hardest part was figuring out how to do gear correctly and what stats to prioritize, which im probably still not perfect at but i think ive gotten it down now. I also hate ship fighting 😭 But yeah easiest is probably just combat i love it i love the battle system. And to be MORE specific ranged combat is easiest for me.

after my minor menty b earlier ben cornered me on the sofa and was so lovely about it all actually. i get the feeling that the ED stuff freaks him out more than anything else that one might call Cham's Madnesses, but he was v encouraging and kind + i think we're basically on the same page really - im genuinely ok but as he put it he's concerned ill be ok until the second i fall off the ok-cliff, and i know what he means lol ofc. he was like not really surprised by any of my feelings bc he (paraphrasing this) basically was like you like to talk about it like it's all in the past but in reality you've not spent any time at all dealing w/ your eating disorder thoughts (as opposed to behaviours) and i mean he's not wrong is he lol?? ah i hate it when he's right :/ he told me to put the brakes on re: the weight loss (to be fully transparent here ive been eating in a calorie deficit on purpose for ~9? months, and i say that only bc ive danced around the truth on here bc im v v v embarrassed that i "caved" to it) for the past ? years ive been fully on board w/ the idea that there is very little that separates purposeful restriction from "real" eating disorders + i am not sure where that leaves me now to be honest. i've said this before but i think the wedding + more specifically the fact that the bride is the absolute nexus of all the ceremony just freaked me the fuck out + the thought of looking how i looked in lockdown for this event was just unbearable and i was honestly just not able to cope w/ it. i honestly dont really know where THAT leaves me either - i feel in a v weird place atm with it all - it's not the same as when i was a teenager - im happy eating v varied foods and things i would have rejected outright when i was in my starvation era - like im literally eating 3 nougat bars for my breakfast atm bc i like them + they're fuckin delicious, which doesnt feel like big trouble. but the fact remains i have been purposely losing weight + betraying my own ideals for months. and i feel very frustrated that i wasn't "over it" enough to just fucking deal? just be a fat bride? ??? i cant even tell you how many hours of curvy brides boutique i have drilled into my own eyes to try and literally like force myself to believe that i as a fat woman was worthy of anything. oh my god!! in a slightly bleak way i do think that being more able to cook for myself now and making huge huge strides wrt contamination fear really just opened the door to this again. which would be v funny if it wasnt a bit tragic lol. -I have to say… Jack being the one to catch feelings and have a crush on Alex first… Was not what I anticipated….but I also think… It’s wonderful you wrote it this way!

-It was unexpected but… I think when it comes from Jack. us seeing that inner “Am I bi?” crisis will make this all that much better when they finally realize they’re feelings mutually…(Please don’t let me down and let me think that they’re going to be together in the end😍)

OK NOW:

1. The fact that Alex was having banter with the boys and keeping up with them was so cute!😍

2. The fact that Jack was willing to let Alex set him up with somebody to make Alex happy… Even though to Jack, it felt weird and wrong… BE STILL MY HEART 🥹🥹🥹

3. The amount of of sexual attention when they were dancing together on the Dancefloor is something I could like feel through the page(if that makes sense…) Like I was sweating reading it.😅😅

4. It made me sad that the way Alex kissed the girl was so believable that Jack was a little bit worried/confused…It made me sad because that means that Alex has had to pretend so much(his entire life) that kissing girls seems so believable. And it makes my heart hurt for him that he hasn’t been able to be his self. I wonder who he thinks about when he’s kissing girls… Is it Jack? Is it a past lover?

Thinking about the pizza crawl has me craving pizza now... in the morning 😂 Jack will always worry about Alex, won't he?

Jack's been teetering on the edge for a while now, let's be honest. He just needed strobe lights and alcohol to realise it himself. And who knows exactly how Alex feels? It's written in a third person perspective, but so far we're mainly following Jack.

Jack's crisis was all condensed into a few moments, wasn't it 🤣 I blame it on the strobe lights and alcohol mentioned earlier. At least he's acknowledged the feelings instead of brushing them off, or so it seems.

Now to your other points:

Alex is great at blending in, isn't he? That guy's pure charisma.

Poor conflicted Jack, so unsure of what he wants. Would he have reacted the same way if he hadn't become friends with Alex? Or is it all because Alex is on his mind now?

I'm sure Jack was sweating as well 🤣 Had to make you think something was going to happen. I mean, Jack thought something was going to happen as well.... until... well, we know what happened.

My Journey over the last 2 years

Hey everyone, kind of a heavy post that will talk about a lot of not fun stuff but a post I want to make. 2 years ago was a a dark time for me, I felt like I lost a lot of people in my life and that I was a terrible person. If it weren't for 3 people I wouldn't be here today. I felt like I had done something that made me like a person I never wanted to be, a person I swore I wouldn't be. Yes I'm gonna be vague because frankly I don't want to dredge shit up. I pretty much disassociated for weeks maybe even a month. I don't remember anything from that time and then when I did come back I didn't know what to do so I put on an act of pretending to be ok. I felt like I had no one until I talked to @/Oneironaughti. He helped me from that hole I was in. Then I started hanging out with @/cherrimisu and spending sleepless nights watching shows, movies, playing games and just having an amazing time. They truly felt like my bestie and really are. Then @/AverySaii and I reconnected and it was great. We played games and talked about the time where we kind of just missed becoming greater friends earlier and I was able to vent a bit to them as well. Then came the callout, if you know you know. I spiraled again, feeling like I could lose the few people that had helped me. But they didn't leave me, they stuck by me. I felt like a week before I told them about it my life was just over and I had nothing to look forward to. I considered the worse thing possible, I considered ending my own life. This feeling had come up a lot in my life but this was the first time I had gotten so close to going through with it. Despite being so happy earlier in the year when coming out about wanting to transition and be seen as a woman, I felt like I didn't deserve that happiness. I felt like I had to disappear. It was because of those three that I didn't do it, they still accepted me. They saw something in me, they actually wanted me around. So despite feeling like I had nothing I carried on for them and put the knife down. I healed after that, slowly. Then when my birthday came around in February 2023 I finally did it and scheduled my appointment for HRT. I would talk about it on my birthday stream and then cry later like I had done the year before when I knew I was trans. The day after the appointment happened I had my HRT. 3/17/2023 I took it for the first time, then the next day I took a picture of myself in the mirror of my bathroom with no shirt on. I wouldn't look at it until about 30 minutes ago today 3/21/2023. I was shocked, my body hair mas a fraction of what it was. My face is so much different, my chest is so different, my hair, everything. I had nothing in my eyes in that picture, just someone trying to get through life with no one bothering them. Just trying to take the path of least resistance. Then looking in the mirror I saw the light in my own eyes, I'm happy. I have two partners that love me and I love them. I dress in bright colors and amazing outfits. I connect to people now that I can express myself as a woman. I actually have a lot to live for, I have better myself in a lot of ways. I'm not just stuck thinking my life is over because I fucked up once. My mistakes no longer defined me, I grew from them so I would never make the same ones again. I'm not broken, I never was. I was just changing into who I am now, and that's ok. It took me 30 long years to get here but I'm happy, I can finally say I am happy. I may not be my perfect self but i am so much more closer than I was last year.

there is no tldr, because if you don't think I'm worth the read that's your opinion but I finally think I am. I know who I am and i know what i want, I'm no longer settling for coasting through life. Thank you Onei, Avery, and Cherri. I wouldn't be here with out you all.

“Sounds like you’re a big fan!” Wilbur only met the comment with a smile, before they moved on to more questions

Wilbur had joined a call with Phil, hoping to have a chill stream before he tucked in for the night

I woke up to the sound of rain hitting the windows next to me. I looked out and saw it was starting to get dark. The library was nearly empty of students, save for a few stragglers and the book I'd started was splayed out in front of me.

To my surprise, on its left stood a hot chocolate. I couldn't help but wonder if That Boy had brought it to me. I decide this is impossible and figure it could always have been one of the castles many house elves. I'd formed a bit of a bond with them when I joined a Gryffindor my year and a few others to protest for their rights, so it's not unlikely for them to have brought it. It certainly feels more likely that they would have brought it rather than the ever mysterious Mattheo whom I’d just met.

I picked up my books and the hot chocolate and started sipping on it as I walked past the many shelves, planning to sneak down to the kitchens and grab some food to bring upstairs so I wouldn't have to talk to anyone. I was so focused on not spilling the rich chocolate on my books that I almost didn't notice the Slytherin girl coming straight towards me with a sickly sweet smile.

"Hi! Im Astoria. You're Odette, right? Ravenclaw?"

I looked down at my obviously blue robes and back up to her.

"Yes...?"

"Right. Pleasure." She held out her hand and her face gave me the impression it was anything but a pleasure for her to be talking to me.

"I heard about your meeting with Mattheo today, I thought it was really nice what he did for you, seeing as it was your birthday and your only plan was to read in the library.” Astoria was looking me up and down by this point, utterly unimpressed. “Alone.”

Again, her facial expressions directly juxtaposed what she was saying, but I was too curious if this meant Mattheo really did bring me the hot chocolate so I took the bait willingly.

"Sorry, what exactly did he do for me?"

"The spot, silly. It clearly meant a lot to you seeing as you were looking like you were about to cry.." She chuckled then, the first actual smile that came to her face. "I just wanted to come wish you a Happy Birthday as well after hearing about everything. It was so sweet of him."

Astoria was nodding so fervently at that last line that I felt myself nodding along.

"I mean he's so... charitable. Yeah, that's one of the things I love most about him." At this she began glaring down at me all pretend niceties gone by this point.

Ah... understood. I began feeling slightly embarrassed by my earlier feelings around him as she was making it clear that he was her boyfriend. Yikes.

"Yeah, ok, I get it. Thanks. If you’ll excuse me,” I nudged past her and went to the Great Hall. So far my whole having-this-day-all-to-myself thing was ruined anyways so I might as well ensure I have a fulfilling dinner.

I head to the Ravenclaw table and find a seat across from Luna, reading her Dads magazine, the Quibbler.

After calling her name a few times, Luna finally looks up, looking utterly perplexed at her friends sudden appearance.

"Geez Luna, you look like you've seen the Bloody Baron. Its only me!" She smiled at me then, a huge bright smile that reached her whole face.

"Odette! Happy birthday!! I wasn't expecting to be able to see you until tomorrow. I have something for you!" She said airily.

Luna pulls out a large glass ball with a gold band around it from her pocket. "It's a Remembral, if you ever forget something, it'll glow red!" She exclaimed while reaching across the large table to hug me. Though it wasn’t the most comfortable hug, the sentiment was so nice I ignored it and laughed, thanking her. I sit back down and just as I'm reaching for some of the feast, I look up feeling someone's eyes on me.

Right behind Luna, I find a broody Mattheo. Under the candle-light I swear his eyes sparkle.

I notice he's surrounded by some of my absolute least favorite Slytherins. While they look like they're are trying to all carry on conversations with him, he hasn't taken his eyes off of me.

I point to the hot chocolate with a questioning look on my face and he smiles, looking back down at his food. I match his grin until Astoria sits directly down next to him and whispers something in his ear. He looks at her and I force myself to look away, reminding myself he’s taken and I have absolutely no interest in him whatsoever.

I finish my meal rather quickly and Luna prattles on about the different articles from this week. I’m thankful as my mind is filled with thoughts of what Astoria could’ve been whispering in Mattheo’s ear.

I work hard not to look at them through the whole meal, even if I do have the sensation that he keeps staring at me.

As I'm about to get up, I am stopped by a shoulder gently forcing me back down to the bench.

"Odette! Happy Birthday special girl."

My brother has a knack for talking exactly like our Great Aunt Amelia on occasion. I notice at his appearance, Luna quietly excuses herself to her dorm.

"Thanks, Silas."

He smiles his million watt smile and pulls a small box wrapped with a giant blue bow out of his pocket.

"This is from me and Mum. She picked it out but I wrapped it. It’s going to dazzle you.

I gingerly take the box from him and begin opening it already dreading whatever my Mums cooked up for this years gift.

I open the box and am in fact quite dazzled. Inside, a large gaudy blue stone sits surrounded by a thick silver chain and diamonds all around the border. It looks entirely too expensive and it’s something I would never pick out myself. Silas motions for me to bend down as he places it around my neck. I find myself leaning forward from its weight. I feign a smile and look up at my brother, thinking what to say to please him.

"Thank you so much! This will be perfect at our Christmas party this year." I gingerly hug him, this one still somehow much less comfortable than the one Luna gave me over the table.

"Oh, boy. You haven't talked to Mom yet have you? She told me she would mention it to you.. Well no stress. Mum planned a trip with some of the Ministry members over Christmas for me to mingle and set up a job for when I graduate this year. You said Luna stayed back last year for Christmas and we thought maybe you could join her and have Christmas at the castle. Honestly you would hate talking with all of those Ministry folk anyways so this felt like the perfect idea for all of us." He said this while nodding at me and smiling his all too diplomatic smile.

This is just like him to somehow try to spin something he and Mum want to do, pretending it’s for my benefit. In this case, I could disagree about how awful that Holiday sounds but forgetting to even tell me until my birthday? I feel a sudden sickness wash over me, overwhelming my senses. I need to get out of here right now.

"Right. Yes, that's no problem. Thank you for the necklace again." I grab my things and rush out of the dining hall not sparing a glance over my shoulder until I'm out of eyesight.

As I turn the corner, I stop and cover my face, trying to take deep breaths. I have never felt so discarded and overlooked and on my birthday of all days. And all I could say was thank you?? I can’t tell if I am more mad them for their disregard of my feelings, or at myself for not being able to say what I really feel.

"Nice necklace, Princess."

I spin around finding Mattheo leaning against the wall behind me.

"It's very...." he looks at it debating his word choice. "Loud." He decides.

"I didn’t pick, my brother just gave it to me." I say, monotone. “I don’t really even like it,” I feel compelled to say so he doesn’t think that this is me.

"Why are you wearing it if you dont like it?"

I hesitate looking up towards the ceiling, then, "You know, I ask myself questions like that all the time."

I slump against the wall and feel him slide up next to me.

"So do I."

I look at him then and we lock eyes once more.

"Odette." He says, his voice slightly hoarse and I swear he looks down at my lips then.

My breath catches at my name and I feel myself instinctively leaning towards him but pull back when I hear laughing down the hall. I remember myself, and more importantly, I remember his girlfriend. I push off the wall and he looks up at me dazed.

"I don't think Astoria would feel very good about how you keep getting so close to me."

His face turns to one of thoughtfulness as I back away still unable to shift gazes away from him.

"I suppose she wouldn't."

That does it. I look away then and thank him for checking on me over my shoulder, dismissing all thoughts from my head over what could've just happened.

I hear him say something under his breath and I turn around, but he's gone. My pocket feels heavier so I dig inside it finding a very delicate gold chain with blue and green stones dotting it. It's stunning, and utterly inappropriate for someone with a girlfriend to give me. But it's perfect, somehow exactly what I would have picked out for myself.

So, I decide my days been so shit and maybe just maybe I want to convince myself it's okay because it's so pretty and so me. I settle with telling myself I will forever avoid him from here on out, but still keep the necklace. I pocket the chain and head upstairs.

I sit in bed playing with the delicate gems in one hand as I pet Jinx with the other and I can't help my mind from wandering back to that confusing boy and his deadly eyes.
