Killer Croc's little bro was apparently in Gotham.
How did everyone know? Because he was seen physically dragging said older brother out of the sewers and into the nearest cafe.
And Killer Croc was just. So docile??? He was shy, a bit nervous, amused, and was practically harmless. Which wasn't something anyone would have associated with Killer Croc.
And the fact that said little bro can lift him up easily too? What kind of parents did they have for their son to be able to lift up the Killer Croc so easily?
Meanwhile, Jack just doesn't get why everyone reacts negatively to his big brother, it's not like he was a ghost for goodness sake and yea he's working on not being like he was before his son revealed himself to be part ghost, but still.
His brother was still human, just extra.
Why did Jack come to Gotham? He was kinda maybe forced out the house to go and find his brother because he liked talking about him but never actually went out to find him.
Jack and Croc may be half-brothers, yes, but he's still family.
Jack strongarms Killer Croc into not living in, well, the sewers and at his house he bought when he came to Gotham and they both caught up with each other's lives. Jack told Croc about his family, and by extension the shit views he's had on ghost because it was a major part in their family dynamics, and Croc told him about his own life in Gotham.
Minus the more gruesome, parts.
Killer Croc lives with him for a while and notices that he didn't really seem to care for his life. Which is a major no to Croc, who tries to get him to gain some amount of self-preservation, yes he knows that his little bro is more durable than the average human has any right to be but please for the sake of your big bro's heart, please take care of yourself.
Jack is a bit floored by this, and tries to wave it off as a non-issue. But if Jack can strongarm Croc into living with him, then Croc can definitely strongarm Jack into things as well.
Busting through walls is fine, alright. He gets it, it's very fun. But please don't stick random things into your mouth that can kill you, nor follow strangers down an alleyway and shrug off a stabbing (Killer Croc had some choice words and actions for the person who did such a thing.), and please, please practice stranger danger, little bro. Please.
No, he doesn't give two, three, four, five or ten fucking shits if you have microsurgeons in your blood that gives you a superhuman healing factor, you can still feel pain little bro, and stop skipping meals and sleep to work on your inventions! No, you cannot substitute either for energy drinks!
The batfam keep an eye on the two brothers and find it to just be the both of them strongarming the other into healthy behaviors basically. (With a lot of verbal and physical "I love you"'s, the Batfam could NEVER. slash joke teehee.)

My auntie keeps Golden Guernsey goats on our island, like many of our local unique breeds of livestock they nearly went extinct in the starving during ww2 occupation surviving by only one smuggled flock. They're super friendly and energetic and their colouration might be of interest :eyes:
Oh OH these are very pretty

hi after the Internet Archive and Vimm's Lair takedowns i conclude that copyright laws are legitimately a plague upon humanity's history, media that isn't being sold anymore should be free for all, and copyright enforcers should be held at the same standards as landlords (scum)

I find it so ironically funny when hardcore Debbie defenders use the defense that she was just a victimised teenage girl (agreed) and then proceed to slander Fiona and express their hatred for her character and lack of sympathy
as if being an adult magically absolves an individual of the horrifying trauma that precedes them and screws up their mentality and actions
funnily enough these people get mad at others for "expecting Debbie to be an innocent angel and hating on her for acting out as a result of trauma" (also agreed, debbie does deserve more sympathy, she can't be expected to grow up to be a perfect saint when she's been through so much) yet seem to hold Fiona to the same unattainable standards and put her on a pedestal as if she wasnt a child that was forced to intensely grow up while never actually being raised
like lets put this into perspective and remember that fiona grew up surrounded by corrupt morals and insanely screwed up behaviour yet still emerged as messed up, yes, but surprisingly good considering the situation she was in??? she had to navigate basic things such as morals and being a good, responsible person on her own. imagine how difficult it must be to lead a bunch of kids, including yourself, with no previous role model or good example of your own to follow. most of the time, she always tried to do what she thought was best and would have the most desirable outcome
#listen a lot of the time debbie defenders make good points#is debbie my favourite? no but she does deserve more sympathy#im really unserious on here and ive made some dumb meaningless jokes but at the heart of it i have sympathy for debbie#so no its not the debbie defense i have an issue with#its the way these people claim to be#1 understanders of shameless women and their complexity#top defenders#including of the women who have said and done worse than/just as bad as fiona#and then proceed to spew all this vitriolic lack of sympathy regarding fionas character#they always talk about fiona making the choice to be their legal guardian#as if the situation wasnt complex and 1) she felt pushed into an inescapable corner#2) that doesnt change the fact that she'd have strong feelings about her baby sister choosing to have a whole baby???#she claimed legal guardianship over HER siblings she did not foresee any other children being added to the mix#so yes she went about it harshly at times when she made debbie raise franny independently#but its not surprising considering her exhausted life?? her history as a TEENAGE GIRL and CHILD of raising kids???#there are actual mothers who'd be worse about this situation and fiona wasnt trying to be nasty#it was tough love and it could've been shown in better ways#and im not putting all the blame on debbie cause she was so young and vulnerable#but at the end of the day she made a choice and fiona was trying to help her understand the importance of consequences to your choice#and navigating adulthood when you choose to behave like one#of course debbie was often put in situations where she felt like she had to be a grown up and that is not her fault#but its not fionas either. theyre all just trying to survive. and fiona tried her damn hardest to preserve debbies childhood#so how do you think she'll react realistically to the whiplash of debbie purposefully getting pregnant#ultimately theres a lot of complexity and flaws and nuance to these situations and i find it weird when people criticise#others for putting so much blame on debbie#and then do the same to fiona as if shes not a victimised product of her environment too#you can show sympathy to debbie while understanding Fiona too and being critical in a mature#nuanced way#im not being a hater to anyone btw im just sharing some thoughts and letting it out. all im saying is#most of the shameless women deserve sympathy and understanding and its strange to deny fiona of that

historical fiction language & diction choices (especially deliberate anachronism) and their relationship to character voice is so funny. like one can write 300k words of vicious 19th c american outlaws with barely a misplaced "fuck" uttered, but here one (1) medieval lord walks onstage and cannot get through 3 sentences without bleating WELL FUCK ME, I DON'T FUCKING KNOW????

SH2 remake defense posts are giving me actual flashbacks to IDW stans going "don't ruin my enjoyment, you're personally harassing me and this is why we can't have nice things" and making strawmen of your concerns while also missing the point of the criticism by a mile. The wording and sentiments are exactly the same.
I wonder if this is just how fandom is now, where criticism is considered toxic regardless of what you say, how you say it, or in what quantity. Shut up and enjoy Product(tm), you're harshing my buzz.

i love hearing old ladies share about their vintage fashion doll collections. like doll collectors on social media skew very young bc duh it's social media but there's something extremely comforting about pre-internet era collectors sharing their knowledge and history.
#my great aunt (b. 1946) is an og barbie collector. among like a million other reasons she's so much cooler than me#she's the aunt who's given me a bunch of her old poetry books#again bc she's so much cooler than me#text post#i love frothing at the bit about new fashion doll releases w the girls and the gays but it does feel very consumerist sometimes#i mean it IS. like most hobbies nowadays there's a very large consumerist element#and fashion dolls are like inherently more-consumerist-than-not. doesn't mean they can't be art#doesn't mean they can't be meaningful and significant and personal and all that blah blah blah#i don't feel the need to justify my interest in dolls anymore i really don't#bc a lot of us who are old and wise enough know and accept the faults in the nature of doll collecting for what it is.#but there's certainly something about vintage dolls that really doesn't just feel like A Pretty Thing#but it does feel like a way of preserving and honoring history#the sense of wonder i get from holding a child's play thing that is the same age as my parents is indescribable#rn im watching a youtube video w less than 5k views that's a recording of a zoom meeting presentation#made by some woman from a group of doll collector clubs seemingly most primarily targeted at like middle aged and older women#i just love shit like this. like the production quality is NOTHING but the research and passion and knowledge is THERE#like all the young ppl on dolltube cannot go toe to toe w this faceless nameless woman talking about her bild lillies#idk who you are lady but you are my queen and i worship your majesty

Sometimes I get a bit ticked about the whole "invisible Canada" thing, but I went to a visiting scholar lecture about the Battle of the North Atlantic in WW2 from a British academic this morning, and he verbatim said: "Canada isn't involved enough it makes a difference." And the friend I went with pats my shoulder like, "I'm sure you guys did everything that you could do."
If that isn't the most concise summation of general opinions of Atlantic history I've ever seen, I'll never see a better one.

Everytime I remember how Shota, HoriNatsu and Jimmy were the EXPG Nagoya elite performer trio and considering his dance ability, he was probably also considered to get into fanta
And how if that happened, we might have never hear his rap????
It also makes me wonder when did Jimmy or Idh discovered his singing ability…….

wanna make a folk costumes of britain zine sooo fuckign bad.........
#folk traditions/music/dance/costume in england in /particular/ are so deeply repressed & mocked and ignored /within/ england#i listened to an interesting podcast examining the english folk music tradition and#how we as english lost something of ourselves in the plundering of others for empire and the incessant rise of industrialisation#however. there is still so much there. so many interesting traditions. so much oral history. so many regional variations#and if you live here it's here for anyone and everyone to take. it's yours!!!!!#waiting for you to find it if you only look for it. if you want it#anyway this was spurred by reading some american say their family was english on both sides and thus had no culture to feel tied to#which made me so sad because it's not true at all. there is always big tescos. (joke)#but fr wym 'no english culture' what is my ultraspecific interest then. lol#there is of course also a very pervading connection of english folk tradition with whiteness which we must both examine and break#because what is a folk tradition if it becomes the preserve of a very narrow demographic? folk means people.#it's of the people and that's all of us here and we must make it open if people so choose to take it#however that is a tag essay for another day and for obvious reasons i can only word things clumsily and do not have the right perspective#anyway once again this was a very long tag essay on my very specific interests. apologies#what it means to be 'from england' with everything that entails is endlessly complex and i think abt it all the time#wow these tags are barely related to the post anymore#is this like. a reasonable and normal post to make i dont even know anymore

honestly I feel like one of the biggest problems with the “mspec lesbians aren’t valid” argument is that people aren’t effectively explaining why it wouldn’t be valid
listen, I don’t have any stance on the matter, because I don’t really know how to feel
however I do have a stance on people saying “it gives lgbt people a bad rep” because that phrase is so fucking stupid. if somebody lets something that small affect how they see a group as big as the lgbt then they were probably looking for an excuse to hate us anyway
if you were to say something like “the way our language has evolved has made the term lesbian important in removing us from attraction to men” and went off in how important the removal from men is and how it helped you and stuff that would be a decent argument but I don’t see people saying that.
or even people against demiboy lesbians fighting with native spanish speakers about it when the fact is they don’t mean demiboy the same way we do
personally I’d never be able to id as a lesbian but that’s how I feel and how my experiences affect me, and I’m not going to fight over histories that I not only don’t have a full enough understanding of, but I also don’t have any emotional connection to or personal history with
generally though I don’t understand the meaningless “that’s not what the word means” EXPLAIN IT. explain why it needs to mean what it does, don’t just go “because I say so” because that doesn’t WORK. explain why it’s hurtful and takes away from people, source shit and get meaningful opinions from the people it affects
people aren’t willing to have proper debates, it’s always straight to meaningless argument and you don’t get things done that way
you don’t get to a solution for things by yelling. if you see a problem, use your silly little human brain and try to SOLVE it, and LISTEN to people and their feelings

Went to the Peter Wentz’s farm today, which was Washington’s HQ before and after the Battle of Germantown! Washington actually paid back the invoices given to him by the Wentz family, which is very kind of him considering he and his army of twenty somethings ate their food and slept in their house for several days. More importantly yada yada battles cool yeah there were POLKA DOTS. POLKA DOTS EVERYWHERE. The original wall even shows that the polka dots are historically accurate and were original to the house. They also have sheep and cows and it’s very scenic. Visit if you can!

Just found out the Mormon church took a whole ass cabin built by my 4th great grandfather in Thistle Canyon in Utah, moved it to Nauvoo, and now rents it out to guests as an “authentic pioneer homestead cabin.” This is so fucking funny
