secret santa had seemed like such a good idea at the time. betty had readily, and enthusiastically, agreed. she loved secret santa. the act of giving, spreading a little kindness and holiday cheer. every year she had worked tirelessly to find the perfect gift for whomever she got, but this year she had found herself struggling, unable to come up with even the basic of ideas. she was exhausted and drained, and so she had called on kevin for help.  ❝   i don’t know what’s wrong with me, kev.   ❞  she complained as they walked between stores.  ❝   i just can’t think of anything !   ❞

      “   i  miss  us.    our  friendship,     ”   a  random  mention  .   but  truth  in  her  voice.  they hadn’t  been  the  same  ever  since  the  changes  that  happened  in  the  town  ,   and  she  wished  she  could  sometimes  just  turn  back  the  time,   but  there  just  wasn’t  anything  she  could  say  or  do  .   ––––––  yes,  the  friendship  is  still  there,  but  with  different  mix  of  emotional  conflict  between  secrets  .
