      “  h a r d l y ?? you’ve got to be kidding me , doll - i swear to god next time i’m bringing my video camera and recording the entire game. you are g r e a t , kitty - i’m not kidding , you truly fucking are.  ” he has to admit , she’s beautiful - and he’s not blind to the truth , so he tries to do what he knows best - start small talk , use all oppportunity he has to talk to her properly , rather than waste it and mess up. still he has a feeling he isn’t doing either of those things , but rather - he’s playing his cards properly - he hopes she enjoys talking to him just as much as he enjoys talking to her. gaze is stuck upon her own as she looks at him again , the corners of his lips twitching up , making the grin he wore widen - and soon enough her words make his brows arch. he hadn’t quite expected to be invited  ; still he isn’t one to turn down such a chance. taking a step closer , the boy nod’s , a small chuckle escaping him as he gazes at her. “  hmm - well .  .  .  i guess i’ll make an appearance. i mean .  .  . how could i miss it ?? the team’s star is personally inviting me - it’d be rude for me to say no.  ” he teases , grin widening as he watches her. “  i’ll definitely be there - but .  .  . d’you perhaps want to grab something to drink now or ?? i mean you don’t have to say yes but , y’know - it’d be dope if you came with me to grab a milshake or something.   ”

“no, what i’m trying to say is... oh, cool. you guys are cool, then?” dustin stopped putting his clothes on and looked down at kitty, who was still on the bed. he couldn’t help but feel some kind of jealousy towards his so-called mate, at the same time, he felt guilt and freedom. “what i’m trying to - this was nice, y’ know? we should - uh, i wouldn’t mind if this happened again.” he finally said, as he put his t-shirt on and tried to avoid eye contact with her.

         beth and him ; they’re always fighting about the same meaningless things. she’s always demanding , always wanting something more , something he can’t seem to give. it makes him feel like he’s not good enough - it makes him snap - it made him l e a v e like right now. he’s sleeping in his car , how stupid that is , but he decides to go for a few drinks first. he almost resembled his mother in that sense , relying on something as stupid as alcohol to make himself feel better. it made him feel terrible (  almost  ) because moments like these he realized how useless he was , how he’d never be good enough for the blonde. that’s why he’s there , doing just what his parents used to do , find a shield in a glass filled with rum and coke. he can’t believe he isn’t more responsible , one would’ve thought that being a police officer would mean being less stupid , sadly that didn’t change a n y t h i n g. he’s just as irresponsible as his father , as his mother - rather than getting the best of them , he got the worst. gaze falls upon the figure leaning against the bar next to him (  he’s hoping to find someone good enough to distract him for a few hours - a good chat that’s what he needed  ) eyes flickering up and down her frame before finally stopping on the side of her face. he’ll admit , her good looks were obvious. even in the dim light present , he can tell. he allowed himself to look at her for a moment , admiring her appearance for a few second before he averted his gaze. she’s hot , he doesn’t even hesitate in admitting it to himself. beth seemed to be the last thing in his mind in that moment. at the moment it works - to erase her from his thoughts , this right here seemed effective enough. he couldn’t begin to imagine how effective a conversation would be. maybe he should start with something , something good enough to break the ice at least. he can’t believe he’s even there , alone at some club only for a drink or two. trying to look for a distraction. a good conversation , a few drinks , a few laughs . . . it’s all he seemed to really want. ❝ can i buy you a drink ?? ❞ he breaks the silence , voice loud enough for her to hear him over the music , his gaze now falling upon her face as he watched her , hoping she’d agree. she’s alone - or so it seemed. she could be the kind of person who did just like him when he went out with friends , ditch everyone in search for something more interesting. ❝ i mean - you don’t have to say yes , but . . . y’know. ❞ there’s a shrug , goofy grin spread across his lips as he paused , sipping on his drink for a short moment as he wondered if she’d accept. ❝ it’s not everyday one’s offered a free drink. ❞ @neonwondress

when duke first met kitty, he remembered think how high did someone have to be to name their child that of all things. but he’d caught himself and shook his head; that was the exact kind of judgement he wanted to keep out of his meetings with his peers across campus. so he made it his mission to get to know her and the more they talked, the closer they became, and her name was a non-issue. they were currently packing up the left over snacks from the meeting and he smiled over at her. he’d heard her story more than once but every time was like the first time and he couldn’t help but feel proud of her. unlike him, it wasn’t just abuse from significant others she had to endure. it was abuse from family and coming from a loving home of his own, it just wasn’t something he could relate to. but he an immense amount of respect for her. but he knew how she could get after their meetings. “hey,” he said softly, walking over to her and putting a gentle hand on the small of her back. “you wanna grab a drink when we’re done?”

It ends with bodies wrapped in nightdresses huddled beneath sheets, palm to palm, cheek to cheek, soft laughs, hands in hair, the sound of restless breaths. “Katherine, move your foot!” Sharp laughter and an exchange of breaths, blonde and redhead side-by-side on a stomach-churning Twilight bedspread. Whispers of midnight feasts, the press of skin on skin or sound of snores. The sleepover exists in a childish haze between girlhood and womanhood, days spent beating away on the pitch, at the court, between the stands at half-time, and lazy afternoons spent batting away childish delights.

I would just like to make a little announcement. I am indeed dropping a significant amount of my threads. It's come to my attention that I really do try to reply to everyone because they're honestly giving me the honor to rp with them. But with that being said, I'm going to start being a little more selective/plan out plots more thoroughly.
