Looking to probably close submissions either later today or tomorrow (it is currently Sunday morning for me). There will be 2 brackets each of 32 characters and a series of prepoll eliminations for shows with too many characters (not sure yet where the cut off will be) and characters I don’t know if I can count as parents.

I've been trying to organise myself a bit but here's an update :
We have :
(not counting Animal Crossing / Precure / Warrior Cats / Pokémon / My Little Pony in those, they'll get their own brackets/prelims)
- 14 characters with a name related to daisies
-> only 2 more different ones before I can do a bracket
- and of course the rest of your submissions are welcome as long as the rules are respected
I'll run "mini-brackets" with exactly the same concept but only 8 (to 12, I think) contestants (or a bit more if I do prepolls so if you want to submit a character with one of the names mentioned below, do it).
Only 2 will be allowed to move on to the main bracket (instead of 4 for 64, 32 and 16 brackets)
I should try that with Clovers first (but give me some time) and then Holly.
#not polls#announcements#and i'll keep updating this poll to let you know how things are going#THIS POST I MEAN#my bad

For people with disabilities there's more voting options in Australia than those already mentioned. Depending on your condition, you can still go to your local polling station, a lot of them are accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, etc. You can prepoll, because they're pretty much always mobility accessible and there's typically fewer people voting so more available staff to help if you need it. You can postal vote, so someone at home can help you fill in your ballot, if you need that. If you meet certain criteria you can vote by phone - someone from the electoral commission will call you on election day. And you can even have someone come to your house (not just hospitals and nursing homes) if you meet the criteria and choose that option.
Compulsory voting can be frustrating when every candidate running for the electorate sucks, but overwhelmingly our electoral system is pretty great. Would definitely recommend.

word nebula
a quick experiment using the Library of Babel project (look it up, cool concept at least) as a tool to create. an exploration of the nature of language and belief and understanding. some sentences are mine, some are edited fragments of pretty much random words, but all follow proper sentence structure, and some even have something to do with anything, my point being that meaning can be constructed from nonsense. and thats pretty cool.
entropic wilderness fasteners confusably reendowed echoviruses. acetone greengrocer antiterrorisms brutalize perigees. infinite stars, infinite galaxies, infinite monkeys at infinite typewriters. osteoarthritic ciphertext tenderises dolmenic spenders. pantries contravened laddered iconolatries, lards deconstruct forewarners, retreatants incandesce kata. knowledge cannot be contained by simple words, and the belief that it could is naught but a fools errand.
silverhorn epistolises sentences, cake versings incentivise giddily. and yet, one may hope to believe that something could be translated. phyllotaxied occultist phreakers diamond oversup. they would be incorrect that it could, but the hope is not wrong. annats formalistically, diagrammatically, connivently entitle seizures. there is an answer to every question, but not every answer will make sense in what words can say. saleroom moonrakings snowslip volubility. ferrosilicon scenemen richen colistin wakanda. the essence of information can only be understood fragmentally, sensationally, like the corona of the sun in an eclipse, the only way to perceive the truth is from the bits and pieces we find just outside what we truly understand. sartorially median dermatologic caponata helmeted outshouts of spectacled waveguides. temporized impaving disposes wontedness. snob demands finer edifications, impactite bolivars. magenta does not exist, nor does any color in actuality, it is naught but red and blue at once, but we believe it does exist, and that is enough. appetitive bookfuls prologuised fantasticalness, cimbaloms areached palmist locksets. bees dance to speak, trees have clan wars, and infinity is not a number, and the truth is a small, incomprehensible mess that words can only hint at. love is a chemical, yet we feel it all the same. diplomated chaptrels transpierce decree. naebody modulates insociably. overseed resinise debones coquet ting outreasoned scrattling guipure pathetic outfind epiloguized fluidity. an amygdule afflicts shimaals pestilence, intermodulation torchons inventory ridgepole sentinels. refuging beignets unlays, sperses, harries percipiency cunningly. life has no beginning, has no end, and ultimately may not even exist, and yet exist it does, and isnt that beautiful. serpiginously, hexaplas kbars mooted prefad ing transcutaneous vadose factors. colorblind people understand red, deaf people understand sound. cockups bowget proselytic wage weirdoes. historiology aril sighted. entelechies. any set of letters, any set of words, could mean anything to anyone, and noone would ever notice the difference. prepollencies apocalyptically lurk. cleaners are communionally nonsurgical. unthoughtful resipiscence cippuses imprints on uveas. a mind could exist on thought alone, if it had to, and other minds complicate everything, by virtue of simply existing. a hairbrained cav eating umbonic skipper vires punnily. enchained exorbitancies clankingly hotplat e entryists. but thats not a bad thing.
this is also very much the sort of thing that i have a world & a bunch of characters just to explore the concept of, the nature of. hopefully this is even remotely cool to anyone else.

The fact the Libs screwed themselves over statewide is great. But it means they have staff to spare in the few places they're left. I've been fighting against a six strong team at prepoll cause they have nowhere else to go.

Yes, but, let me say this as someone from a country where voting is on a Saturday, with prepoll for 2 weeks, postal vote easily accessible, and no random roll purges.
If you are unable to get to the polls, and have tried what could be reasonably expected, don't beat yourself up about it. Speak to friends and family, see if you can carpool or whatever. Make sure you speak up when and where you can - call your reps and tell them to make voting more accessible.
But there are many people who cannot vote, because the American electoral system is designed to stop people voting.
If you can vote, you have no excuse to stay home. And if you can't vote, that is okay and not your fault.
if you are 18 or older, you do not have an excuse not to vote
if you are queer or trans or care about people who are queer or trans, you do not have an excuse not to vote
if you are a single mother or care about people who are single mothers, you do not have an excuse not to vote
if you are suffering because of the american healthcare system or care about people who are suffering because of the american healthcare system, you do not have an excuse not to vote
if you care about democracy, you do not have an excuse not to vote
if you care about education, you do not have an excuse not to vote
if you care about childrens rights, you do not have an excuse not to vote
if you care about women in any capacity, you do not have an excuse not to vote
reblog and dont stop reblogging. we've seen crazy shit happen this year and after a week or two, nobody bats an eye anymore. we cant let that happen with all the reports of harris gaining more support
keep reblogging until november. run the far right lunatics out of office because if we dont, then america will quite literally become a dictatorship
look up the policies for voter registration in your state. most states let you register online. it only takes about 5 minutes. you have zero excuse to not be voting. vote for harris.

Vote Elatsoe AroAce Swag 2023!
Here is why YOU should vote for Elatsoe in the @aroaceswagcompetition!!
First thing's first -- Elatsoe (goes by Ellie) is the protagonist of the novel by Darcie Little Badger. Ellie/Elatsoe is a Lipan Apache girl living in an alternate version of the U.S. full of monsters, magic, & interdimensional beings from both Indigenous & Western folklore! She's basically living a modern fantasy, Indigenous futurism, and murder mystery all at once.
Second -- the girl is FULL OF SWAG & MOXIE!! She has supernatural powers related to the dead, can "wake-up" the ghosts of animals (bringing humans back is a huge taboo tho), and has on rare occasions traveled to the underworld for dire circumstances. She faces off against vampires and murderers alike with her faithful (ghost) dog and her best (human) friend!!
Her aroace identity is both canon and respected by her family! The narrative doesn't treat her like she isn't capable of any type of love or caring emotions. (I can't be the only person who's heard "what are you, a robot?" or seen people only headcanon a character as aro/ace if they're super shy or super cold/mean right????) Elatsoe has a FIERCE love for her friends, family, and traditions, and she is more than willing to stand up for them and fight for them!!
Also she has an awesome dog named Kirby who she adores with all her heart and does everything with, how can you not vote for her at least once?? A vote for Ellie is a vote for Kirby!!
In Conclusion: Vote Elatsoe!! and maybe check out her book if you like reading with some awesome rep all around ;)
