My Thoughts On... #43 - Premium subscriptions 💻▶️💲💸

Many of you are familiar with streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, YouTube Red, Peacock, Paramount+, Disney+, etc. Where you can watch many shows and movies, as long as you have an account. But there is one drawback to some streaming sites which is premium subscriptions. Yeah, there are some episodes of certain TV shows as well as movies where in order to access them, you need to sign up from a premium subscription. Which not only requires you to enter your name, age, gender, e-mail address, city, state, and zip code, but also your credit card number as premium subscriptions cost money. Also, it's not just streaming services that make you sign up for premium, it's also this one comic strip site called Comics Kingdom. (Which I mentioned in a previous My Thoughts On... post) Yeah, they're wanting people to subscribe to premium in order to access their comics. Also, I know what you're thinking, "If you're bothered by Comics Kingdom requiring people to sign up for premium, then don't visit their site anymore and stick to like ArcaMax Comics or something." Well, suppose one day, ArcaMax will do the same thing. Require people to sign up for premium before accessing their comics. All I'm saying is, while I understand that they're having us sign up for a premium account in order to make money, they're practically draining our credit cards into worthlessness. Nobody's going to want to watch any shows on any streaming site if it means they have to pay possibly more than they can afford. Plus, there might be some people out there who want to watch shows and movies on a streaming service, but they don't own a credit card. What are they going to do? What if whatever show or movie they want to watch isn't available on other streaming sites that don't require premium accounts? I'm just saying, premium subscriptions are a waste of time, and a nightmare for a bank account. I mean, like I said, I get that some shows and movies require a premium subscription so the people who run the streaming service can get paid. Also, it means the shows and movies are ad-free, which is a plus, but not if it means draining our bank account once a month. Or I could just be overreacting and don't want to pay for a premium account, or can't anyway because I don't have a credit card, and if I did, I wouldn't use it to pay for viewing TV shows, movies, and comics once a month. Of course, there might be some people who are the same way. They don't want to drain their bank account just for some entertainment. So, what do you think? Should premium subscriptions be abolished? Anyway, those are my thoughts on premium subscriptions. Hopefully you'll enjoy this post, and be sure to favorite, re-blog, and/or reply. It's optional, of course.
