"Oh- It's fine. Again, haven't seen him in years, didn't mean to make it awkward. Bad day for jokes, right?" Partially right. Peter hadn't died today. And whilst he was a childhood friend, it wasn't like they ever lost contact. But hey, milk it whilst he can. And now he's expressed a personal thing himself, MJ was more likely to be open, too. And - it worked. He didn't even have to work for it, and he now has a date to a bar. Very good start.
And he didn't know.. if she knew Peter, or Spider-Man yet. The best he could do with premilitary research was that she exists. That was enough for him.
"It's nice to meet you, MJ. And I'd love to join you. Let me buy the first round; I owe you for the whole saving my life thing. Lead the way?"
The sudden confession over losing a childhood friend was indeed a surprise.. Out of all the things to come out of his mouth it hadn't been that. "Oh, I'm so sorry.. I am glad I could save you from.. Well.. That..?" it wasn't like mary-jane to be awkward, but what else would one say to that sort of statement?
He seemed familiar, in a strange way, why did she feel as if she knew this person? "Well as it so happens I'm about to head to a bar myself" and for once it wasn't for work.. Mostly to look around any connections that may arise in the entertainment industry but MJ also just wanted to get out of her apartment.
"I am Mary-jane, but everyone just calls me MJ.. easier, less of a mouthful" the redhead gave another bright smile. "You can join me if you like, if you're new in town, a friend is definitely what you need"

just from the top of my head.
Kate Kate is Bruce Wanes cousin.
she’s rich as fuck, it was said if Wanes own half of Gotham, Kanes own the other half.
in her first appearance she had long hair, and was closeted, when an older grumpier and done with the world Renee Montoya approached her. I don’t remember if they fucked, it was a short cameo at that point.
then Kate got her own comic, so we learn about her and her back story more.
Kate was a military brat along with her twin Beth, she was out as lesbian since young, her mom and twin were kidnapped they they were like 10 or some (don’t remember exactly but she was a kid) and brutally murdered.(or so Kate was made to think)
of course that was a big blow for young Kate, she has a humongous trauma because of that loss. when she grew up she enrolled in the military. she was a top of her class cadet, along with another girl named Sophie Moore, who had also become her lover. someone saw them kissing. Kate covered for Sophie who was not out, but she couldn’t live a lie for herself so she admitted she’s a lesbian, and under the them law “don’t ask don’t tell” she was kicked out of the academy.
she was young and reckless and rich, and had nothing to do, so when she was stopped for driving fast but them a young fresh out of the academy, cute cop Renee Montoya. Renee left her off the hook because Kate flirted her way out of the situation, lol. of course they ended up fucking. and they had a good time for a while until Kate’s rich ass told Renee “don’t leave for work let’s stay here forever” or some romantic shit like that, and Renee gave her an earful and a reality check.
she went back into thinking what to do with her life, until one night she was attacked by some lousy excuse of a Gotham thief, then Batman show up for her rescue, even though she was a trained soldier and she was down a fine job herself at that moment. long story short, she was inspired to be a vigilante.
she was going out at night doing some petty crime bastings, until her dad found out. she got an earful that she was reckless, but also that he wouldn’t be able to stop her so the only other way was to help her, so she would get murdered by a stray bullet or something. he made her costume and all, she added the red details, to remind her her Jewish background.
he also put Kate in a special training, with his a premilitary squad or top notch badasses named the crows. she becomes BATWOMAN
he made her live through her mother’s and twin’s abduction, capture, torture, and murder. YEAH inflicting more trauma to your child YEAAAH
once she finished her training to become a hard ass cold and collected vigilante, with guns, she faced her first enemy Alice, who turned out she was her long lost twin Beth, who survived the capture and then she was taken by criminals to break her mentality and create another Gotham villain.
Kate asked her dad about it, apparently he knew Beth was alive, Kate was really mad at him and their relationship never recovered ever since.
then Kate who fought mostly monsters and ghosts and such found herself captured by the many arms of crime, or however they are called, and she was about to be sacrificed to the “queen” (who was alice) she took a legit sacrificial knife to the heart, but she lived through it, because daddy’s trauma inflicting training paid off, lol. Kate convinces (read guilt trip) Bruce to let her get Beth some actual help, because she’s his family too. so Kate sends Beth to Switzerland.
Then in a new version of her story she meets Maggie Sawyer, they fall in love and everything, then the DEO gets involved and they blackmail Kate to work for them, then Maggie is caught up in it and gets stubbed with some toxic that gives you nightmares for days and you cant woke up. Kate breaks free from the DEO and asks Maggie to marry her, while still in costume so Maggie is shook cause she didn’t know lol.
as they live together and make the preparations to have a wedding, DC being DC in the same fashion they recently said that Batman doesn’t eat pussy, they said then that superheroes don’t get a happily ever after with a spouse (read homophobia though, cause their biggest superhero superman is married and has kids, and batman even has kids, but I’m sure the reason he’s not married is because he doesn’t satisfy the women he has those kids with)
so they brought it old homophobia for Maggie,
Maggie has a daughter with some asshole from before she came out as lesbian. her child was just a baby when she divorce the asshole, who in return of his ego being wounded he took custody of the child in the premise of her being a lesbian made her unfit as a mother (which even 70s~80s superman found a ridiculous thing to say) so anyway Maggie only gets to spend few weeks per year with Jamie (her daughter) and in the old comics, her asshole ex husband was demanding that Maggie’s lover was not around Jamie.
so as she lives with Kate, Jamie comes for her week visit to her mom, the girl is like 8 years old, Kate returns for some vigilante fight all bloody and goes to the bathroom and is covered in blood and bruises. she’s unaware that Jamie is in the house (as asshole ex husband just decides the whens) and lil Jamie opens the bathroom door to see the bloody mess that is Kate, the lil kid is traumatized.
and while there are apologies and trying to fix things, the asshole ex finds out and sues Maggie and threatens to take Jamie away for good if she doesn’t break up with Kate. Kate feeling guilty about it she hires the best lawyer for such cases so Maggie can fight for custody.
but because DC is homophobic as fuck, they have asshole ex contacting Kate and tells her that she either disappears from Maggie’s life or Maggie will never see’s Jamie again, because he has the means to do.
Of course Kate with the giant trauma of being orphaned in a young age, writes a break up letter to Maggie without telling her about the phone call, but only that “jamie needs her mother” leaving a heart broken Maggie behind with many many questions.
writers change after that
and DC allows one of the worst stories to be written.
Kate gets drunk after breaking up with Maggie, some vampire villain approach her, seduces her, and bites Kate. Then the vampire shapeshifts into Maggie, so she can rape Kate constantly. with Kate’s mind being soup, the vampire gets batwoman to do her beatings, (she kills couple of people) (Kate is not against killing in general, she wields guns after all, but when Maggie asked her, she said that she would never kill unless it was the only solution to save someone’s life or something along those lines) so This Kate kills for no reason than the vampire being petty.  and in the end one of the targets is Maggie and her daughter. Kate attempts to kill the woman she loved...
she’s a brainless vampire at this point, and Alice/Beth is back and now she’s a superhero, and it’s up to her to stop Kate, so she fucking kills her...
DC got to 1. rape the lesbian 2. attempted to kill another lesbian 3. got killed
nobody claims this monstrosity, it’s not considered canon, but only there to inflict pain.
Next issue we go back to where we left Kate leaving Maggie 3 days befroe their wedding.
Kate does some reckless stuff and ends up in the ocean.
some woman named Safiyah who has an island somewhere, takes wounded Kate in. Kate doesn’t remember anything or who she is because she took a blow on the head. she of course becomes Safiyah’s lover, and gets some ppl jelly, because everyone want’s Safiyah’s love. We also conclude that Kate is a sub as she occasionally gets cuffed in bed for Safiyah’s pleasure.
long story short, Kate realizes that something is very wrong with that island, and she burns it to the ground, enraging Safiyah. who then blackmails Kate that she going to kill Beth, etc. some long fights later Kate is free of Safiyah, and she has Beth back as well.
there is a “future” story with Kate being in her 50s or something, and she encounters Renee, and they had been on and off for years, but the love is there, and it’s so good, but then Renee gets shot, because DC, and we don’t know if she survives as the story ends before that, but they kiss. so I assume she survived, SHE BETTER!!!
Now Kate does some cameos in other comcis, and she is really badass. she never followed the batman rules, and she made friends with many criminals. Also the shit she can sustain in fights are insane she’s extremely powerful.
thanks for coming to my TedTalk
I need to learn more about Kate Kane, someone come infodump about her to me please!

Meet Shadi Khalloul
Did you know that there is a revival of Aramaic in Israel. It seems that Maronite Christians in Israel share a common Biblical heritage with Judaism and are ardent Zionists. There is a lot we can learn from them and there is much Israel can do to help these allies.
Shadi Khalloul
What a pleasure to interview Shadi Khalloul, the Founder of the Israeli Christian Aramaic Association-NGO. This is one interview that I shall never forget. As we sat in his lovely home in Jish (Gush Halav) in the Upper Galilee, Shadi, described his transformation from being an Arab Israeli and his growth to become an Aramaic Israeli – step by step.
Maronites in southern Lebanon
First of all we drove up to the hilltop, 800 m above sea level. We stood facing the north. Shadi pointed out that all the Lebonese villages of Ain Ebel, Debel, Qaouzah, and Rmaich are entirely Christian Maronite – all of them praying in Aramaic. Israeli Maronites also believe that the Lebanese village of Maroun al-Ras is named after “Maronite”. (Israeli scholars suggest that the name comes from the Waters of Merom in Joshua 11:5.)
Syriac-Aramean flag
Bir’im and Iqrit- the unfulfilled promise to permit a return
On the Israeli side of the border we could see the site of Kafr Bir’im ( كفر برعم‎,), which was a Maronite village. Bir’im stands on the site of the ancient Jewish village of Kfar Bar’am.  Iqrit (إقرت‎) is too far to see. When the Crusaders occupied Iqrit, they called it Acref. Kafr Bir’im and Ikrit were captured by the Haganah on October 31, 1948 during Operation Hiram. In November 1948 most of the inhabitants were temporarily expelled, for military reasons, until the military operation was complete. The expulsion went without Cabinet knowledge, debate, or approval – and received post facto Cabinet endorsement. The Maronite residents of Bir’im were moved to Jish. The Maronite residents of Ikrit were moved to Rama. Strangely enough, despite the promise that they would be returned in two weeks’ time, none were permitted to return.  The Israeli government has yet to keep its promise to allow the Maronites to return to Bir’im.
Muslimization of the Galilee
During the 70 years of the Jewish State there has been a Muslimization of the Christian villages in the Galilee. In one after another, for various reasons, the Christian majority in villages has turned into a Muslim majority. There has been an increase of anti-Christian incidents. Many Christians complain that Muslims are trying to either drive them out of cities that have traditionally had large Christian populations, or to “persuade” them to convert. Christian Israel leader argue that Israel is the only country in which Christian communities have been able to thrive in the Middle East. Christian Arabs are among the most educated groups in Israel. They have attained bachelor’s and academic degrees at higher rates than Druze or Muslims in Israel. Hanna David from the University of Tel Aviv wrote that Christian Arabs the New Israeli Jews. In terms of their socio-economic situation, Arab Christians are more similar to the Jewish population than to the Muslim Arab population. Shadi suggested that I read articles on this subject, among others, by Dr. Rivka Shpak Lissak. Many Israeli Christians have given up their Arab identity. In Lebanon, the Israelis gave aid to their Maronite brothers who, in turn, joined the South Lebanese Army (SLA).
Shadi’s Aramaic Enlightenment
Shadi was born in Jish, but grew up in Haifa. After serving in the IDF as a Captain, he wanted to learn more about his Aramaic heritage. The first step was a B.A. from the University of Nevada Los Vegas (UNLV). During a course in “Bible as Liturature” a Catholic UNLV professor said, “Don’t think that Jesus spoke Spanish or English or French or Latin … he spoke Aramaic, a language that disappeared.”  Shadi stood up and explained, “I pray in Aramaic and I can read and write in Aramaic”. The professor asked him to prepare a presentation for the next day. This presentation made the difference. When Shadi returned to Jish, he joined a course in Aramaic for adults, opened  by a Maronite priest in Haifa, so as to enable them to not only understand the Liturgy, but also read, write and converse freely in Aramaic. Shadi’s Maronite identity began to expand.
Maronite Zionism
During the 1939 Arab Civil War against the British Mandate, Aramaic Maronites brought supplies on donkeys to the Jewish community in Safed. The Khalloul family, in Bir’im hid illegal immigrants, refugees from Nazi Germany, and aided them enter the British Mandate of Palestine. Researching in the Zionist Archives in Jerusalem Shadi discovered that Maronite leaders sided with the Jews during the Holocaust years. Records show how the Maronites served as a third party purchasing land in the Hula Valley and reselling it to the Zionists. Shadi showed me copies of protocols by David Ben Gurion favouring of a Maronite State in the French Mandate of Lebanon, and even suggested that the Jewish Agency should donate funds to aid the Lebanese Maronites.
The Maronite leaders also recommended to the United Nations that there should be a Jewish State in Palestine. One must take into consideration that of all the Eastern Christian religions (Syriac Orthodox Church, Syriac Catholic Church, Maronite Church, and the Assyrian Church) only the Maronites recognize the Pope and thus have good relations with the French and Italian governments. Of course the Maronites also wanted a Maronite state in Lebanon. The Maronites wanted to be an ally of the Zionist Movement. A Maronite continuity from southern Lebanon (Qlaiaa – Marjeyoun) to norther Israel which would protect Israel from the north.
Maronite Leaders recommend a Jewish State in Palestine
Aramaic language studies in Jish
As a Christian language, Aramaic has all but disappeared from the Middle East. Only two Holy Land villages remnants of small Maronite and Christian Syrian Orthodox communities opted to teach Aramaic to the new generation. Although both the Maronite and Syrian Orthodox churches worship in Aramaic, they are distinctly different sects, each numbering approximately 2000. This is quited an ambitious effort to revive the language that Jesus spoke.
Abuna Bishara Suliman, Maronite priest in Jish, set up an Aramaic class for school children. By this time, Shadi was already an active lobbyist in the Aramaic movement and was able to convince the Minister of Education, Gideon Sa’ar, and Dr. Shlomo Alon to budget elementary school Aramaic course in Jish.
Most of the self-identified Aramaeans in Israel are from the Maronite community. Aramaic is experiencing a revival among Maronites in Israel in Jish. The Arab-Israeli village of Jish is in the Upper Galilee. Jesus lived in the Galilee and preached there. Jish Elementary school children, who speak Arabic as their first language at home, are now being taught Aramaic two hours a week from First Grade to Eighth Grade. The children belong to the Maronite Christian community who chant their liturgy in Aramaic although few understand the prayers. Even Muslim children are even happy to learn Aramaic.
Aramaic Projects in Jish
Shadi Khalloul’s movement has succeeded to create popular plaforms for learning Aramaic including:
Aramaic Sunday School
Jish Aramaic Summer Camp
Recitals and concerts in Syriac Aramaic
Visitors Center
Aramaic Club House
Aramaic youth movement – Aharai! Follow me!
Jewish-Christian ‘mechina’  Premilitary program in Kibbutz Beit Zera
Christian identity in Israel, is taught by Shadi Khalloul, former captain in the Israel Defense Forces’ Paratroopers Brigade and director of the Israeli Christian Aramaic Association. Khalloul is the driving force behind this new, first-of-its-kind premilitary program that recruits both Jewish and Aramaic Israelis. All participants must commit to serve in the Israeli army after completing the progra and integratr into Israeli society.
Shadi’s Dream for ten year ahead
I asked Shadi what is his dream for Aramaic for 10 years from now. “I really want to establish a village in Israel, perhaps near Bir’im, populated solely by Aramaic speakers. There we will found a visitors center, and an Aramaic research center (together with Orthodox Jews), and a boutique hotel.” Shadi believes that fellowship between Jews and Maronites in Israel will sway public opinion in favor of Israel around the world – as he says, “Israel needs the Aramaic Maronites as much as the Maronites need Israel.”
Shadi Khalloul and Hoshvilim
Beit Jala Aramaic Studies
Beit Jala, near Bethlehem in the PA, followed suite soon after elementary school Aramaic classes began in Jish. In 1831 Mohammed Ali of Egypt conquered the Beit Jala region and remained in control of it until 1840, when the Turks regained control with help from the British and Austrians. As a result of these social upheavals, large numbers of Palestinians, and particularly from Beit Jala, Bethlehem, Beit Sahour, and Beit Safafa, left the country for South America during the 19th and early 20th century. Some 360 families in the area descend from Aramaic-speaking refugees who in the 1920s fled the Tur Abdin region of what is now Turkey.
In the Palestinian Authority (PA) village of Beit Jala in the West Bank – Judaea, an older generation of Aramaic speakers is sharing the language with their grandchildren in a school for Syrian Orthodox Christians. After all, Beit Jala lies next to Bethlehem, where the New Testament says Jesus was born.
Christian Church self-regulation in Israel
Ten churches are officially recognized under Israel’s “confessional system”, which provides for the self-regulation of status issues, such as marriage and divorce. These are the Roman (Latin rite), Armenian, Syriac, Chaldean, Melkite (Greek Catholic) and Maronite Catholic churches, Eastern Orthodox Greek Orthodox Church and Syriac Orthodox churches, as well as Anglicanism.
The legal status of Aramaic citizens in Israel
In September 2014,Gideon Sa’ar, who was then Minister of the Interior, allowed Christian families who can speak Aramaic and/or have an Aramaic family tradition are eligible to register as ethnic Arameans ( non-Arab) in Israel. About 200 Christian families were eligible prior to this decision. The Israeli press estimated 10,500 persons were eligible to receive Aramean ethnic status according to the new regulations, including 10,000 Maronites and 500 Catholics. The first person to receive the “Aramean” ethnic status in Israel was 2 year old Yaakov Halul in Jish on October 20, 2014. Another staunch supporter of the recognition of the Aramean identity who cooperates with Shadi Khalloul, is Father Gabriel Naddaf, who is one of the leaders of the Christians in Israel.
Members of the Syriac Orthodox Church are officially registered as “Assyrians” ( another non-Arab ethnic minority), the indigenous people of northern Iraq, north east Syria, south east Turkey and the fringes of north west Iran, who migrated from these regions long ago to what is now Israel. The Assyrians in Israel number approximately 1,000 people and most live within the city of Jerusalem.
Some members of the Arab community in Israel denounced registration of ethnic Arameans as an attempt to divide Arab Christians. Representatives of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate officially denounced the move.

The History of  Aramaic
First lets understand what Aramaic means. Aramaic is a Semitic language, like Hebrew or Phoenician originating in the area between Israel and the northern Euphrates valley. This language has 3,100 years of written history and was the dominant language in the Middle East 2,000 years ago. Ancient Aramaic was spoken in Aramaean city-states in ancient Syria (Damascus, Hamath and Arpad), Babylonia, and Assyria to become a major means of communication in diplomacy and trade throughout Mesopotamia, the Levant and Egypt. Around 500 BCE, following the Achaemenid (First Persian Empire) conquest of Mesopotamia under Darius I, Imperial Aramaic was adopted by the conquerors as the single official language. Aramaic contiued to be the lingua franca for the entire empire until the early 3rd century BCE when it was replaced by Greek in Seleucid Syria and Mesopotamia. Aramaic continued to flourish in Judaea, Assyria, Mesopotamia, through the Syrian Desert and into northern Arabia. Aramaic is a family of languages, with up to 150 different dialects. A speaker from Biblical times probably wouldn’t even recognize that this is Aramaic.
Biblical Aramaic
The Hebrew Bible includes several instances of Aramaic text and vocabulary
Ezra 4:8–6:18 and 7:12–26
Daniel 2:4b–7:28
Jeremiah 10:11
Genesis 31:47
Aramaic was the official language of Hasmonaean Judaea (142–37 BC) and was the language spoken by Jesus. In the first century, Jews in Judea primarily spoke Aramaic with a decreasing number of those using Hebrew as their first language
Aramaic Alphabets
The earliest Aramaic alphabet was based on the Phoenician alphabet. In time, both Aramaic and Hebrew adopted the distinctive, “square” style Assyrian alphabet. The modern Hebrew alphabet derives from the “square” style Assyrian alphabet as the Aramaic alphabet. Jewish Aramaic uses the same alphabet as Hebrew – derived from the Aramaic alphabet.
Christian communities developed a cursive writing system used for Aramaic known as the Syriac alphabet. There are three major variants of the Syriac alphabet:
ʾEsṭrangēlā  – Looks like a mixture of Hebrew and Arabic. Often used in scholarly publications, in titles, and in inscriptions.
Maḏnḥāyā – The East Syriac dialect is usually written in the Maḏnḥāyā (‘Eastern’) form of the alphabet.
Serṭā – The West Syriac dialect is usually written in the Serṭā  (line). Most of the letters are clearly derived from ʾEsṭrangēlā, but are simplified, flowing lines. It is more economical use of parchment.

Jewish Aramaic
Aramaic is the living language (actually two dialects) of the two Jewish Talmuds, Targum Onqelos, and Targum Jonathan. The Talmud is still studied in Aramaic up to this very day by Orthodox Jews around the world. I participate in a Jerusalem Talmud lesson (with Aramaic texts) every morning at 06:00.
The Babylonian Talmud was created in the diaspora. In Babylonia, the regional Aramaic was used by the Jewish community from c. 70 AD. This everyday language increasingly came under the influence of Biblical Aramaic and Babylonian Targumic.
The Jerusalem Talmud was created in the Holy Land. Hasmonaean Aramaic appears in quotations in the Mishnah and Tosefta. Aramaic came to completely displace Hebrew around the turn of the fourth century CE.
Samaritan Aramaic
The Samaritans have preserved Samaritan Aramaic in liturgical and literary usage. Samaritan Aramaic is language used in sacred and scholarly literature. It should not be confused with the Samaritan Hebrew. Samaritan Aramaic ceased to be a spoken language some time between the 10th and the 12th centuries. The Samaritans maintained a calligraphic tradition different from the Square style Ashuri script, using instead the Paleo-Hebrew alphabet they employ for their scriptures.
Aramaic in the Levant
The Aramaic languages of the Levant and Lebanon are near-extinct in non-liturgical usage. It was spoken in the Syrian villages of Maaloula, al-Sarkha (Bakhah), and Jubb’adin. At one time Syriac was been recognised as an official minority language in Iraq.
Christian Aramaic
Among the dialects of Aramaic retained as a liturgical language by certain religious communities is Syriac (Syriac Aramaic or Classical Syriac), the liturgical language of Syriac Christianity – including among others: –
Syriac Orthodox Church – The church is led by the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch  of Antioch, seated in Cathedral of Saint George, Bab Tuma, Damascus, Syria.
Syriac Catholic Church – Has many practices and rites in common with the Syriac Orthodox Church. The Church is headed by the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East of the Syrians who resides in Beirut, Lebanon.
Maronite Church –  The church was established in the 4th Century C.E. by Saint Maroun as an inspirational leader and patron saint followed by the establishment of the Monastery of Saint Maroun on the Orontes. The Orontes river flows through Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. The Maronite Church is in full communion with the Pope and the Catholic Church.
Assyrian Church.
Early Syriac texts such as the Syriac Bible and the Diatesseron Gospel harmony date to the 2nd century. The bulk of Syriac literary production dates to between the 4th and 8th centuries. Syriac literacy survives into the 9th century, but Syriac Christian authors in this period increasingly write in Arabic.
Christian communities developed a cursive writing system used for Aramaic known as the Syriac alphabet.
Aramaic alphabet
Swedish Aramaic
Syriac is also taught in some public schools in Iraq, Israel, Sweden, Augsburg (Germany), and Kerala (India). In Sweden there are enough people to support a newspaper, radio station and a television station. The renaissance of Aramaic in the Christian communities of Israel and the PA was aided by Swedish Aramaic-speaking communities who are descended from immigrants from the Middle East. Swedish officials found between 30,000 to 80,000 Aramaic speakers in Sweden descended from Middle Easterners.
Aramaic Television
Suryoyo SAT is a Syrian (Aramean) satellite channel in Sweden that links all Syrians throughout the world, while showing that the Syrian (Aramean) people and the Aramaic language are part of the world’s history and future.
to promote the Syrian (Aramean) culture and its history
to promote and develop the Syrian (Aramaic) language
to promote and highlight the Syrian (Aramaic) identity
to integrating the Syrian (Aramaic) people into their neighborhoods
to educate and give opinion about important social issues
  Hollywood Aramaic
Mel Gibson managed to film parts of his 2004 movie “The Passion of the Christ” in Aramaic.  The film covers the final twelve hours of Jesus’ life, beginning with the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, the insomnia and grievance of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the brutal scourge and crucifixion, ending with a brief depiction of his resurrection. The dialogue is entirely in reconstructed Aramaic, vernacular Hebrew, and Latin.

As an American I feel I must do my best to demystify. I can't answer to all of these and even as an American foods, brands, and sayings are often new to me as we are a big country and very diverse.
Weights and Measures: An inch is about 2.5 cm there are 12inches in a foot 3 feet in a yard and a yard is pretty close to a meter. A pound is about the weight of one pint of water so think average glass of beer thats a pound. (I don't know why it's lbs but it is also abbreviated # and on phones was called a pound sign before it became a hashtag)
You will see alot of stats that are US based because we have a big census every 4 years and many companies use that data and data they compile themselves for research and marketing.
Military Time is when u right the hours 01:00-24:00 instead of restarting at noon so 1pm is 13:00hours
Freshmen grade 9 Sophmore 10 Junior 11 Senior 12 then it repeats in college year 1-4
ROTC kids are reserve officer training corps is premilitary training for kids who want to go into notary or want to have military pay for college they do this in high school to get a foot in the door and when they enlist it automatically moves them up in the ranks
You only pay up front for gas if u pay cash. This is because gas stations often only have one attendant and many pumps so it would be possible for u to fill up and drive away otherwise. Most places you pump your own gas.
Spray cheese is unexplainable we did it cause we could.
Remember we have to pay for college. College sports are big money (think tickets sales, merchandise, gambling) and colleges will pay athletes to attend. This means a trickle down to high school. For low income areas a sport scholarship is seen as a ticket to a better life.
Spelling Contests, have u seen English it makes no sense so the only way to know how every word is spelled is to memorize it. You are writing and reading this in English (which we might aswell call trade these days like in a sci-fi novel) but between England and the US if you are using English more than likely a native speaker will chime in. If your post is in Portuguese a Brazillian would chime.
Alot of the USA world power stuff/"everyone has to assimilate to us" has to do with the fact that we produce so much media that we disperse world wide. That and our massive internet presence as a nation, wifi and such are very available and we are a very tech saturated nation. We also pride ourselves as having built (literally developed out of a US department of defense computer networking setup)and own the internet. That is changing but our massive corporations still run most of the English speaking side.
Anyway if you’re from the US and you ever wanted to know what tumblr feels like from a non-USAmerican perspective (please note that the rest of the world is not a monolith either and none of these apply without exception):
Everybody’s talking about brands and stores you’ve never seen in real life. You generally assume they exist, but they might as well be one giant prank the rest of the internet is in on.
You find a post that just sounds wrong. It makes no sense. It’s like OP lives in a weird alternate reality. 9/10 times, it’s just some USAmerican Thing.
You’re still not entirely sure how much an inch is. Or a foot. Or even how many of the former there are in the latter. You maybe know your height in feet and inches.
You have no idea how much a pound is. You’d also like to know how the fuck pound shortens to lbs.
What the fuck is “military time”
Somebody talks about some legal process or something similar. They don’t mention which country’s legal system this pertains to. You know anyway.
People talk about politics. None of it pertains to you. Many posts contain guilt tripping. “How can you not care about this?? Why won’t you reblog this?? People need to know this about x candidate for y position!” You’re busy trying to stay on top of the political landscape in your own country.
You pick up some random slang from the internet. Monkey see monkey do. You’re called racist. You didn’t know it was AAVE. You learnt it from black letters on white background, not from the mouths of people whose faces you could see. How would you have known? You try to unlearn it.
People tell you that you must publicly denounce Chick-fil-A or you’re homophobic. You don’t even know what a Chick-fil-A is.
People say you don’t know LGBTQ+ history. What they mean is you don’t know USAmerican LGBTQ+ history. Nobody cares about your country’s history.
You’re “called out” on using an “offensive” term. It’s (a direct translation of) a completely harmless word where you live.
People expect you to have an idea of how far apart 2 USAmerican states are. You barely know geography past your country’s immediate neighbors.
You randomly switch between British and American spellings. Nothing’s real and there are no rules.
People talk about multiple hour car rides and you get twitchy just thinking about it. You suddenly understand why USAmerican cars are so big.
Somebody talks about school shooting drills. You only ever had fire alarm drills.
You see a cool statistic. The study’s only about the US. It’s unfortunately of no use to you.
People misuse/misspell words and names from your native language. It’s tiring.
(You feel sorry for the French. Nobody should be allowed to mangle the word déjà vu like that.)
You’re still not over the fact that USAmerican school children are supposed to say that pledge thing every morning. You’re never getting over that.
You still don’t know why the men are fresh or what the fuck a sophomore is.
Who the fuck pays up first and then fills up gas??? That’s made up, right??
Everybody has a weird obsession with some comfort food you’d never even heard of before you signed up here.
Fellow non-USAmericans, please add anything else you can think of.

Anon probably unironically thinks that Margret Thatcher did effectively utilize girl power by funneling money into illegal premilitary death squads in Northern Ireland.
What if I simply dont care about the workers at walmart when I steal? Read the works of Ayn Rand you are not required to care about other people!
Ayn Rand was a cunt and so are you.
