Danganronpa Rarepair Week 2023: Day 2 Running Away/Death

They’re running away from home to go apply to be in danganronpa, a decision they’d in no way regret or that would tear them apart. Typically I don’t give V3’s pregame too much thought, but I firmly believe these two were super close before they got accepted to the show. Idk when I saw the prompt I thought of them, but it was one of the first drawings I got finished for the week.

danganronpa au where everything is the same but it portrays healthy queer relationships, makes all the characters of similar age and actually in high school, shows ppl with mental health issues coping properly even if it makes for “bad plot”, portrays equity & equality for each student regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, and/or the color of their skin, shows healthy and happy trans students who aren’t accused of “cross-dressing” or being a tr*p, and the understanding that even if it is a lord of the flies situation, kids will work together regardless of underlying paranoia, even if someone betrays their trust.

oh also drv3 gets a better ending than “it’s all just a twisted reality tv show”, Junko gets a proper story behind her despair for the world because it just happening for an unknown reason at a young age isn’t good enough to even begin a proper plot where one could see why she’d be inflicting despair on others, and pregame personalities are not the fetishization of murder & trauma, they are a genuine curiosity for how danganronpa could change a human’s life all together, and even if it’s intriguing to learn about, characters like pregame!Suichi arent fucking gross abt it & actually still have morals and feel empathy for those involved in killing games

Since it's a popular topic for the V3 kids, you got any headcanons/ideas for their pregame selves.

So in all honestly I’ve never really given pregame all that much though lol, not for any particular reason or anything I just haven’t been inspired by it.

So I feel like in general I accept the like widely used fandom concepts for everyone’s pregame personality’s, but there is one thing I’d definitely want included in any pregame stuff.

I want Suichi and Tsumugi to be besties lol

I feel like they’d both be huge danganronpa fans and talk about the series together and go to cons and make their own au’s and oc’s for themselves lol

They probably both went to the auditions together, and then the casting people saw how close they were and decided the most despairing option would be to split them up as protag and mastermind!
