Don't doubt our love (Christen Press x Tobin Heath x Reader
This was requested by anon. Hope you enjoy it :)
Words: 1.5K
"Oh shit," I heard Christen mutter to Tobin as they stopped in the door way. The kitchen was a mess, there were bowls, whisks, flour and icing all over the place. It was well known that when I'm tired, upset or mad, I bake. The more I bake the worse I'm feeling. They stood there for a few seconds nudging each other until Christen stepped forward. I would have laughed if I wasn't so in my head, "What are you baking?"
"Cookies, lemon tarts and a lemon cake."
"Yum."
Tobin stepped forward, taking in the half finished desserts, "Are you still coming tonight?"
I didn't look at them, fully focusing on the baking instead of the disappointment that was bound to be there, "I'm going to pass on tonight."
"What? Why?"
"I'm just not feeling well. You and Tobin go, have fun."
"Do you want to talk about what's wrong?"
"Nothings wrong. I just don't feel like going out. I'm sorry."
Christen kissed my cheek softly, hand running along my back, "It's okay. I don't believe you, but we'll drop it until you're ready to talk about it. I love you."
"Love you too Chris, and you Tobes."
Once they had reluctantly left and the baking was finished, I found myself scrolling through the 'Preath' hashtag on Instagram. This had been a thing for years and I had tried to ignore it once we started dating. It had worked for a while, until pictures of Christen and Tobin on holiday started circulating. It wasn't that I wasn't with them or in the pictures, people were just obsessed with them being together, or their assumed relationship anyway. We liked keeping our private lives private so our relationship, and theirs weren't public knowledge. That had never stopped the rumors though.
I admit it had been bothering me more than I would like it to. Seeing just the two of them together, seeing how they looked at each other and how happy they looked, it had me feeling insecure. There were no photos of the three of us that showed the same love as the ones of them. It shouldn't bother me seeing as plenty of those photos existed, they just weren't public.
There were a few public photo's where I was looking at them with adoration while they were giving each other the same look. Though my look was being interpreted as adoration for their relationship. The more I scrolled the more insecure and jealous I felt. Eventually, I threw my phone onto the other couch, cuddled up under a blanket and attempted to watch Netflix, but my thoughts kept going back to the photos.
"Baby we're home!" Tobin's voice rang out. I wanted to rush up to them, but my insecurity stopped me. Instead I stayed on the couch.
"How was it?"
"It was okay, we missed you though."
I scoffed, having seen the stories of them dancing and laughing from the party. Normally, them having fun without me wouldn't bother me, but I was deep in the hole of self doubt and that just made it worse, "Sure you did."
Christen sat on the arm of the couch, going to kiss my temple, but I dodged her, "We did miss you Y/n."
I stood up, putting space between us, feeling hurt and anger bubbling up. It was irrational, I was overreacting, that much I knew, but the self doubt and insecurity was clouding my judgement, I couldn't stop, "You don't have to lie."
Tobin stepped forward, going to take my hand, but I stepped out of her reach. A flash of hurt appeared before being replaced by confusion, "What? Y/n we-"
"Don't touch me. You obviously don't want me so you can stop pretending. You are clearly happier together."
"Y/n, that's not tru-"
"Whatever, enjoy being together," I cut her off, going to the spare room before they could say anything else.
After blowing up at Christen and Tobin, I had cried myself to sleep. I felt horrible for blowing up at them, I didn't really mean it, but I had been so stuck in my head, I couldn't stop it. I had planned to sneak out of the house early to work out the feelings, but Christen and Tobin were sitting at the counter, three cups of coffee in front of them. I knew them well enough to know they hadn't gotten much sleep. The guilt hit me again as Tobin slid the cup closer to me. I avoided eye contact as I slowly sipped the coffee and waited for either of them to say something.
"We found your phone, it was on the couch. We wanted to give you space so I put it on charge in our room."
"Thank you," I whispered. "I'm going to the gym."
Christen carefully placed her hand on mine, like she was waiting for me to pull away, "Please don't. We want to talk about last night."
"I'm sorry."
"It was an accident, but we saw what you were looking at last night. Does that have anything to do with what happened?"
I played with my fingers, nerves starting to grow. The one thing I was horrible at was talking about my feelings. They took a step back, giving me a bit of space as I gathered my thoughts. I knew I need to talk to them because despite what I said last night, I didn't actually want to be without them, "I-I got insecure."
"Why?"
"Seeing the love between you two in the photos and reading the comments. Everyone was saying that the looks I was giving you two were because I adored your relationship, not that I was in love with you. I guess I got jealous and insecure. I got it in my head that you two are happier without me. That you're better off without me. Everyone seems to like the two of you together. I spiraled and I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you."
"It would have been preferred that you talked to us, but I also know you hide your feelings so it probably wouldn't have happened for a while."
Tobin laced her fingers with mine, "Baby, how long have you been feeling like this?"
"I've been aware of it for a while, but I had pushed it away. Since our holiday, it came back up. Everyone was picking apart every aspect of the photos, including some of the team and it really started bothering me. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I-I-"
Christen cupped my cheeks, "Look at me." Reluctantly, I met her eyes, the eyes that have always brought comfort. The eyes that were so filled with love, "We love you Y/n, we love you so fucking much. Being away from you is horrible beyond belief. Take last night at the party for example, you were all we could think about, we spent the entire night trying to figure out an excuse to leave. All we wanted was to cuddle, watch movies and just be with you."
Tobin placed her hand on my back, turning my head so I was looking at her, "There is no one else we want to be with Y/n. We're not happier without you, we are miserable without you Y/n. We. Love. You Y/n."
"I love you too. I'm sorry."
Tobin kissed me softly, thumb stroking my cheek. A softness present that was saved just for Christen and I, "Just talk to us next time okay?
"Hopefully there won't be a next time. I think I might just block the hashtag at least until people know about us."
"That might be a good idea, but if there is a next time, talk to us. We'll give you all the reassurance you need. Is that something you are thinking about? Us going public?"
I finally relaxed, sitting down next to Tobin and leaning against her, "Not necessarily, I like our private life private. Maybe we could tell the team though?"
Tobin nodded in agreement, "I wouldn't be opposed to that."
Christen kissed my cheek before resting her head on the back of my shoulder, "Neither would I, we can tell them at camp next week if you like. Is it too early for a nap? We didn't get much sleep last night."
"Neither did I and I could really use some cuddles."
Both my hands were held and I was practically dragged to the bedroom laughing uncontrollably. Before I could be pushed on the bed, I spoke up between fits of laughter, "Wait, wait. I can't sleep in these."
Tobin smirked, unzipping my jersey, "Then let's take them off."
I playfully smacked her hand away, "Stop being a horndog, we are not having sex right now."
"Spoil sport. I'm just being helpful."
After quickly stripping off my sweatpants and shirt, I slipped into bed, "Well, you can be helpful later. Now get in here."
Tobin slipped in behind me, arms wrapping around my waist while Christen tangled our legs together as I pulled her into me. Soft kisses landed on my back, shoulders, neck, cheek and lips. My heart felt like it skipped a beat at the softness, the love I felt from them as they peppered my skin with kisses. There was no motive behind it, it was just pure love. I felt my eyes prickle with tears, my fingers laced with Tobin's that rest on my hip and pulled Christen closer. I had never felt so loved as I did in this moment, cuddled between my girls.

Imagines
Hey guys!
So I’ve set this up to write some USWNT imagines/short fics to get the hang of writing for them before possibly making some multichapter stuff.
I’m happy to write for pretty most any of the squad, most ships, most themes, (though if it’s triggering may take a bit longer as I like to make sure they do the topic justice), and I’m also happy writing original characters and reader inserts, though I’m not a huge fan of alternative universe writing.
I’ve reblogged a bunch of prompts as well so if anyone would like to go through my blog then feel free to request one of them just say who you want to be in the fic :)
So pleaaase send some requests in!

Never Again (Preath Imagine)
Warnings: mentions of abuse.
You fucked up. You could see the disappointment in your parents’ eyes. Luckily, you had one more night to stay at the hotel before you could officially go home. Christen could notice that you were on edge for the rest of the game. You were subbed out around the 70th and sat down on the bench next to Tobin. Neither of you said anything to each other, but Tobin rubbed your back soothingly.
“You had a good game,” Tobin said quietly. You shook your head and Tobin sighed. “Everybody gets a booking here and there. This is your first one and it’d not really a big deal.”
“My parents aren’t gonna be happy about this,” you whispered under your breath. Once the game was over, your parents pulled you aside to “talk” to you.
“What the hell was that?” Your father’s grip on your arm was harder than normal as he yelled at you.
“We didn’t pay that much money for you to be getting cards like that,” your mother said. Her tone was condescending, which made you feel small and shitty. Your father tugged you away from the field and pushed you into the corner where nobody could see what he was going to do to you. At least, that had been his plan before he was interrupted by a throat clearing behind him.
“Excuse me, but this is a family matter,” he said. He was trying to be polite, but Christen saw right through it. “If you could please leave us to talk to our daughter.”
“Talking is generally done with your mouth, not your fists,” Christen said and he scoffed.
“I’d never lay a finger on her,” he lied.
“Bullshit, now I’m going to ask you to leave Y/n alone. You can do it willingly or we can get police involved,” Christen offered and your parents just walked away. “The blue Sedan is theirs right?”
“Yeah,” you answered and Christen nodded.
“Good, I already called the police. Come on, let’s get back to the hotel,” Christen said, putting her arm around your shoulders.
“They’ll never hurt you again,” Tobin promised and you smiled. You trusted Christen and Tobin to keep you safe.

Special for this moment, my beginning of a Preath serie =)
Summary: Everybody knows Christen Press is out for an ACL tear. But what if there was more than just a tear in the ACL?
Warnings: There is most of the time chat conversations.
'Babe, let me help you', Christen said to Tobin who was getting the groceries inside of the house.
'No Chris, you stay on the couch and let your body heal', Tobin shaked her head.
'But-'.
'No, no and no, if you aren't taking care of yourself, what would happen to the baby?' Tobin asked Christen.
'Okay'.

Espn.com:
Is soccer forward Christen Press, really only out of the game thanks to an ACL tear or is it something more?
Soccer player for the USWNT (United States of America Women National Team) and Angel City -Christen Press - got recently an injury and now she is out for give or take nine months. But fans are speculating if there is more than just an ACL tear.
Another star from the USWNT - Alex Morgan - suffered also a time ago from an knee injury, but apperently she was also pregnant in that time.
Is Christen Press doing the same, if yes, who is her lover?
----------------------------------

'Tobs, they figured it out, what should I say?' Christen said to Tobin while reading her messages at her phone.
'Nothing yet, we are going to let them in the dark for a few more minutes', Tobin replied while smirking a little bit.
-----
USWNT group chat:

30 weeks into the pregnancy
Espn.com:
It appears the fans were right, Christen Press - soccer star- is indeed pregnant. Congratulations from us.
It also appears that Press took her best friend Tobin Heath to the ESPY's as her date. In an interview, she viewed her and Tobin Heath into a power couple. So Preath shippers, you ship has sailed!

Fox News:
It appears that Christen Press is pregnant and dating her fellow teammate Tobin Heath. Not only had Christen Press an ACL tear, but she pulled an Alex Morgan with turning pregnant in the recovery time of this injury.
But congratulations Christen Press and Tobin Heath, I wish you guys many happy years together!
-----------------------
35 weeks into the pregnancy
'Welcome girls, family members, and friends', Tobin began.
'This is the time for the gender reveal' Christen continued.
'Only five weeks left and this little person', Tobin says, looking at the belly from Christen, 'comes in to the world'.
The mother from Tobin and the father from Christen walked together with two confetti poppers. At the count of three the gender would be revealed.
'1'
Everybody gathered around.
'2'
Christen and Tobin holded eachother.
'3'
The confetti was all pink and white. Meaning it was a girl.
'We have a girl', Christen said.
'WE HAVE A GIRL!!!', Christen yelled.
While others yelled: 'IT'S A GIRL!!'
'Kelley, Alyssa, can you come up for a sec?' Tobin began.
'We couldn't choose one godparent out of all the awesome friends and family members we have, so here we have two' Christen finished the sentence.
'Alyssa, if anything goes wrong, you are the most collected person and I trust you with my life and now also with my daughters life', Tobin said, 'Kelley, however I just think sometimes, why are you making these decisions, and I would never trust you with a small child because you will make a terrible influence, but Christen trusts you so I need to trust you too, so I trust you with my daughters life'.
Tobin took a deep breath and continued: 'So hereby I say officially you two will be the godmothers of this sweet child'.
-------------------
40 weeks into the pregnancy
'Toby, the baby she's coming', Christen said while laying her book down.
'What?' a confused Tobin asked.
'The BABY is COMING'.
'Ohh okay, let's get you to the hospital' Tobin replied still not realizing the severe of the moment.
'OHHH SHIT THE BABY IS COMING', suddenly Tobin yelled.
While running to the car while helping Christen, Tobin called Alyssa, one of the godmothers of the baby: 'ALYSSA SHE IS COMING, CALL KELLEY'.

All Hints and No Confirmation (Christen Press x Reader)
“Does it ever bother you?” Christen asks you, her fingers tracing the bare skin of your upper back, not covered by your sports bra.
You’re laying on Christen’s chest, your head nestled in your favourite spot between her neck, utterly exhausted after another gruelling practice. You just want to take a nap before dinner, but you can hear the worry in Christen’s voice, so you lift your head and look down at the green-eyed forward.
“Does what bother me?” you ask, your eyebrows furrowing as you watch Christen look intently at her phone.
“All the Preath stuff…” Christen says, biting the corner of her bottom lip as she continues flicking through Instagram.
Everyone on the team knew about Preath, there was no way to escape it. They all got hounded with questions about it or tagged in posts on Instagram, so it was nothing new.
Today alone, because there was an open practice, a lot of the fans got pictures and videos of Christen interacting with Tobin, posting them online and tagging both women. That was why she was scrolling through Instagram, looking at the different posts and comments.
“Where’s this coming from?”
Christen never asked you if you were bothered about all the Preath stuff, even though she did sometimes wonder if it did, because she never heard you complain about it. You laughed along with some of the jokes your teammates made about all of the theories and you would even show her some of the Preath videos and pictures you found. You even showed her different DMs you got asking you to tell Christen and Tobin that they should come out or that they made a cute couple.
So, she didn’t think to ask you if it bothered you, but today when she was practicing with Alex and Tobin, the other forwards asked her if you ever complained to her about all the Preath stuff, because they’d had a small fight about it again.
Tobin found it weird that she was being romantically paired off with her best friend when they were both in happy relationships with other people, and she wanted to finally tell people about her relationship with Alex, but the blue-eyed forward was still skeptical about coming out, very much like Christen.
“Tobin and Alex asked me if the Preath stuff bothered you, or if you complained about it, and after looking through Instagram today, I could see why it would bother you. If people made these comments about you and Kelley, I think I would be pretty upset.” Christen says, her lips turned down in a frown when she even thinks about people thinking you and your best friend were in a romantic relationship.
You take a second to think about Christen’s question, knowing that this isn’t the time for making any jokes, especially when you see how serious and perplexed Christen looks.
“It used to bother me when we first started dating, and there were a few times when I wanted to bring it up, or even just end it between us because it got to be a bit much for me. Constantly seeing your girlfriend being ‘shipped’ with someone else can make you believe that they deserve to be with that person. I used to go through some of the Preath posts and I honestly believed that you two deserved each other. If I didn’t know you personally, I would’ve thought you were dating Tobin from all the stuff I saw.”
“Baby, you should’ve told me.” Christen whispers, shocked that you even thought of breaking up with her because you believed the Preath shippers. You never mentioned any of this to her, and it made her worry about what else you still had to say.
“I wanted to, but then I sat, and I thought about it. What was I going to say? Please stop interacting with your best friend because the fans think you’re dating, even though I know you’re not. It sounded so selfish and I didn’t want to put you in a position where you had to choose between Tobin and I, especially over something that we can’t control.”
You hold your hand up when you see Christen about to say something. You want her to hear everything you have to say before she butts in with something and doesn't understand what you're getting to. You want her to understand all your feelings and your thought process about this whole thing.
When you see Christen close her mouth and you feel her relax a little bit, ready to let you continue without any interruptions, you continue.
“I also realised that I couldn’t really blame the fans either because they don’t know we’re together and when you see things from their perspective, what they’re seeing between you and Tobin makes sense. I wasn’t, and I’m still not going to force you to come out just so people will maybe stop shipping the two of you. I want us to tell people when you’re ready to do it. So, yeah back then it bothered me, but right now, it doesn’t get to me. I understand it and with that understanding I was able to stop letting it bother me.”
Christen waits a few seconds to make sure you’re done talking before she opens her mouth to reply.
“How are you so calm about this? Why aren’t you upset, or fighting with me or the fans?” Christen asks, marvelling at how calm you sounded when you made your feelings known to her, but also a little worried that maybe you were downplaying your emotions so you wouldn’t make her upset.
“You love me, right?” you ask, looking straight into Christen’s gorgeous green eyes.
“You know I do. With all my heart.” Christen answers, a little unsure of where you were going with this.
“You’re not dating Tobin, right? Unless there’s something you need to tell me?” you ask, making sure your tone is a little lighter than your previous question.
It pays off when you hear Christen giggle as she rolls her eyes at your question.
“God no. I’m not dating Tobin, trust me.”
“So then if you love me and you’re not dating Tobin, I can’t let all the Preath stuff bother me. I trust you with my whole heart, and I trust Tobin. There’s so much other shit in the world to bother me, fans finding joy, and some even finding acceptance and the courage to accept who they are through assuming that you and Tobin are together, that shit doesn’t bother me. What we have is real, and I’m not gonna mess it up by believing something that isn’t.”
You want Christen to hear and understand everything you’re saying. You also want her to know that the Preath shipping really doesn’t bother you anymore, but you also can’t help but wonder that maybe she brought it up because it was bothering her.
“Does it bother you?” you ask carefully, watching Christen’s eyes go wide for just a second before she takes a few seconds to think about her answer.
“A little bit.”
“Why?”
Christen doesn’t answer immediately, her bottom lip pulled between her teeth as she thinks of what to say. Her fingertips mindlessly move to trace lightly over the tattoo just below the nape of your neck, more at the top of your shoulders. It was a piercing tattoo of her eyes that you had gotten done after your two-year anniversary.
You told Christen you got it because it represented the fact that she always had your back and that she was always watching out for you. You also told her it was because she couldn’t keep her eyes off of you, which you found hilarious, especially when she would get distracted at practice, so you literally got them tattooed onto you. She didn’t like that reason as much as she liked the previous ones.
She also didn’t like how many of the fans were convinced the eyes belonged to Alex or one of your exes. She thought they looked pretty distinct, the whole team was able to tell that it was her eyes, but the fans were adamant that it wasn’t.
All the speculation and linking to your exes made Christen hate the tattoo a first, but after some time – and persuasion – it became one of her favourite tattoos on you. She loved tracing it when the two of you were cuddled up together, or whenever she could get her hands to it.
You hum softly as Christen’s fingers trace your tattoo, before you duck you head to press a soft kiss to the underside of Christen’s jaw, trying to reassure her and let her know that she can take all the time she needs before answering your question.
Instead of leaning up on your elbows again, so you can look at Christen, you drop your arms and nestle your head between her neck, peppering it with featherlight kisses while you wait for her to answer your question.
“I know it’s stupid, but I kind of hate that they see a relationship between me and Tobin, but not between me and you. I know I’m the one that wanted us to keep things a secret, but I’m more affectionate with you and I don’t understand how people aren’t figuring us out the way they figured out Krashlyn.” Christen says quietly and you can’t help but chuckle into her neck.
“Shut up, I know it’s stupid.” Christen says, rolling her eyes and slapping your back to get you to stop laughing.
When you finally get your chuckle under control, you lift yourself back up so you can look at Christen.
“It’s not stupid. It’s a bit weird, especially since you wanted to keep our relationship from the fans, but now you kinda want them to figure it out without telling them. But I get it. I’m just glad it’s this that’s bothering you and not something more serious. You had me worried for a few seconds when you were so quiet.”
“I didn’t know how to say how I was feeling, so I had to get all my feelings together, and I knew you were going to laugh at me.” Christen says quietly, her bottom lip jutted out.
“I can’t believe you’re jealous of Krashlyn being caught out by the fans. We could literally just tell the fans we’re together, then they'll know.” you suggest before dipping down and kissing the pout off Christen’s lips.
“Is it weird that I don’t want to tell them, just have them figure it out?” Christen asks.
She liked the idea of the fans figuring it out on their own without her having to outright say anything. It was cute and fun to see all the videos, pictures and theories about her and Tobin, she wanted the same thing for you and her.
“It’s a little weird, but a little evil too. These poor fans, nothing ever gets confirmed for them.” you joke, nudging Christen’s nose with your own.
“I’m not saying we won’t confirm it, I just wanna see all the cute theories and stuff about us.” Christen mumbles.
“Ok, ok. How about you post something like an easter egg and see if they can figure it out. They’ll probably think it’s about Tobin, but it can’t hurt to try.”
“You think that would work? An easter egg?”
“Yeah, Taylor Swift does it all the time in her music, and Marvel does it in their movies. Then you get to see the fans go at it and try to figure out what the fuck is going on in that pretty little head of yours. Much like I do most days.” you say.
“Just make it a little obvious that you’re alluding to me, or you’ll be stuck with more Preath shipping and from what I can tell, you don’t really want that, and neither do Talex.”
“Ok, but what do we do?” Christen asks.
“I don’t know and I’m kinda tired right now, so how about we take a nap and figure this all out after?” you mumble, making yourself comfortable on Christen, returning your head to the crook of her neck.
“But…”
“Shhhhhh, sleepy time.” you mumble, blindly bringing your finger to Christen’s lips, effectively silencing the forward.
Christen rolls her eyes playfully at your antics, but eventually concedes.
“Fine, sleepy time.” she says softly, pressing a kiss to your finger, which you move when you know that you’ll get some sleep.
˳˳˳˳
“I thought you said easter egg?” you ask Christen, looking down at what Christen posted using your Instagram account.
“It is an easter egg.” Christen says, pouting.
All she did was post a picture of her fingers playing with the hairs on the back of your neck, your tattoo of her eyes clearly shown just under her fingers, with the caption, ‘The eyes, chico. They never lie.’
“It’s neither confirming or denying anything and I made it obvious that it’s you and me. I’m wearing your ring, the one I always wear, your tattoo is there, and I tagged myself.”
You’re unable to help the smile that breaks out on your face at how adorable Christen looks defending her idea of an easter egg.
“Ok, fine. It’s an easter egg. Although, judging from some of these comments, people are figuring it out. These poor fans, it's all hints and no confirmation, although, I think your tag might just be enough confirmation.” you say teasingly.
“If I didn’t tag myself then they would think it’s someone else and I am not going to read comments linking you to one of your exes again.”
˳˳˳˳
“How long are you guys gonna keep doing this? It’s been a month now.” Tobin asks, showing you Christen’s latest Instagram post.
It was a black and white picture of her laying on your couch in sweats and a pair of white re-inc socks. It was clear she was in your apartment because if you looked closely you could see the signed and framed Mia Hamm jersey Christen bought you, a jersey that everyone knew hung in your apartment because of the embarrassing number of times you showed it in Instagram posts or livestreams.
“I have no idea. All I know is that Christen is having fun and I am going to let her have as much fun as she wants.”
“At this point you should just confirm the relationship. I’m sure everyone knows.” Tobin says.
“I say the same thing, but apparently not everyone is convinced we’re together and Christen has a few more ideas. So I’m letting her be.”
Christen kinda went insane with the whole easter egg thing, so far she made four posts on Instagram, two from her account and two from yours. She also managed to rope her sister into sharing a video of the three of you drinking wine and enjoying a sunset. She was having a blast, almost controlling the narrative, or whatever, and she just looks so adorable when she thinks up ideas that you don’t have the heart to tell her to stop.
“Alex wants to do the same thing. Apparently, she likes the way Christen is doing it and thinks it could be fun.” Tobin says, chuckling when she remembers the chat she had with her fiancé about coming out using easter eggs, like Taylor Swift. She really couldn’t find it in her to argue with the blue-eyed forward, she was just happy that Alex found the courage to want to finally tell people about them.
“I’m not complaining though. I’m just glad she’s ready to tell people, even if it’s through hidden messages and stuff.”
“I gotta feel for the fans though, imagine having two of the biggest USWNT power couples come out, but it’s all hints and no confirmation. It’s like they’re stuck in the biggest lesbian scavenger hunt ever.” you say, and Tobin bursts out laughing.

I'll Always Come Back to You (Preath x Military!Reader)
Anon request: Hey love, could you write a preath x reader. With military!reader coming home to them both.Just pure fluff😢
3 months, that is how long your mission was supposed to take. Now here you were 7 months later still in Afghanistan.
Your job was very important and you were very proud of the work you did but it did have its downsides, the biggest one, being away from your girlfriends.
“How is it going? I mean I know you can’t tell us why but” Christen begins to mumble.
“Everything is going according to plan, I should be hope by the end of the month” You tell her.
“Really! That soon” You cannot help but smile at Christen’s smile, it was infectious.
But it was the sight of your other girlfriend that now had your attention.
“What’s the matter Tobs?” You ask as she clearly wasn’t as excited as Christen.
“Nothing” Tobin lies.
“Well I have just told you that I am coming home and you face looks like a brick wall”
“It’s just that…well…we have had this conversation before and I got excited the first and the second time even the third but now” Tobin doesn’t look at you instead she plays with her hands.
“Baby, look at me” you wait until she does so.
“I know it can be hard but I have a job to do which is bigger than me. It requires be to be away from you, both of you. I miss you both so much and I am doing everything in power to come home to you as soon as I can”
You look up just in time to see tears falling down Tobin’s face.
“We know it’s hard Y/N which just miss you is all” Christen tells you.
“So how is camp? We watched your came against Sweden, there’s nothing quite like watching my girls tear up the field” you say trying to change the subject.
“It’s going good, we finally nailed that set piece I was talking to you about the other day” Tobin says.
She goes on to describe the play in detail and you smile at her passion. You could listen to her talk about soccer all day.
“What?” She asks as she catches you staring.
“Nothing, I just love to see you smile” Tobin blushes at your compliment. You loved that you still had this power over her even it is from the other side of the world.
“Oh Y/N, I tried that yoga routine you recommended. I was so sore the next day I could hardly walk” Christen rolls her eyes at your smirk and Tobin’s giggle which she managed to cover with a cough.
“Don’t say it” She tells you.
“Sounds like I never left” You say smugly.
“Chris you practically set her up with that one” Tobin says playfully.
“Y/L/N time for briefing” Your hear someone say.
“Duty calls” you tell them “I love you both so much”
“I love you” Christen says.
“I love you” Tobin says.
“Please stay safe” They both say in unison.
You blow a kisses at the camera before ending the video call.
After the brief your sergeant asks you to stay back.
“I know you have been on base a little longer than expected and we appreciate the work you have been doing so we are releasing you from Duty. I have organised a flight for you, if you go pack now you might make it back for you girls’ game” He tells you.
You were finally able to go home and you will be able to surprise Christen and Tobin since they thought you would be back at the end of the month.
Your bags were packed and your were on the plane. In order to keep the homecoming a secret you would have to cancel a FaceTime with your girlfriends but it would be worth it in the end.
You send them both a text saying that you will be going dark for next 24 hours due to the mission to had.
20 hours later, you land in Houston. You look at your watch to see that that have an hour before kick off so you make your way to the game.
Meanwhile at the stadium Christen and Tobin are freaking out as they saw on the news that there was an explosion near the base you were staying in and they couldn’t get in touch you.
“I’m sure she is fine. You said that she was on mission so that means that she wasn’t on base” Alex says trying to calm them down.
“Something is wrong, I can feel it. Last time I felt like this Y/N had been shot” Christen said.
“Christen!” Tobin shouts “you can’t just say something like that”
Christen goes to Tobin and gives her a hug, whispering something in her ear that the rest of the team can’t hear.
“Right, listen up” Vlatko enters the locker room “Christen, Tobin I have seen the news and i want you both to know that you are excused from today’s game”
“I want to play” Christen says.
“Me too” Tobin agrees with her girlfriend.
Before going onto the pitch there is another news report saying that there were no casualties at the bombing so that put’s them at ease but your dark 24 hours were over and they still couldn’t get in touch with you.
You arrive at the game just as the referee blows the whistle and you cheer loudly as you see that both Christen and Tobin are starting.
The game is over before you know it. It was finally time be reunited with the loves of the life.
The players begin their walk around the stadium thanking the crowd, luckily Tobin and Christen are at the back which gives to the chance to get the attention of one of the other players.
It is Ash that sees you first and goes to one of the security guards letting you know that you are family and need to come to the locker room. He escorts you through the stadium, down the several corridors and then you see it. ‘Home Team Locker Room’.
The team had won so most of them were celebrating but not your girlfriends, they were checking their phones and you knew they were waiting for a text from you.
You stood in the doorway watching them for a moment. They were your everything and seeing them in person floods you with all kind of emotions. You don’t realise your crying until Alex passes you a tissue. Turns out everyone had noticed your presence, everyone but the two people you wanted to see you.
“They’re all yours” Ash tells you patting you on the back.
You hear Christen telling Tobin to try calling you one more time and you see your opportunity. You get your phone out of your pocket and turn it on.
Your phones goes off seconds later and your answer it.
“Y/N! You finally answered, please tell me you are ok?” Christen says and you smile at her concern.
“How about you turn around to see for yourself” You tell her.
Christen runs to you, jumps into your arms and you catch her spinning her around.
“I can’t believe you’re here” She says as she places a kiss on your lips.
“She’s really missed you, it has been harder on her this time” Christen tells you signalling to Tobin who is still in her locker staring at you in disbelief.
You place christen on the ground, taking her hand in your as you go to Tobin.
“Am I dreaming because I have had this dream before, you come home then I wake up and your gone again” She tells you.
“I’m here baby” you say.
She stands and kisses you, this one more passionate than the one you shared with Christen which surprises you. Normally Tobin shied away from PDA but not today.
“I really missed that” you say pulling away.
“I have missed you so much Y/N” She says with tears in her eyes.
The rest of the team stand in shock, they have never seen Tobin this vulnerable.
“I hate to break up this reunion but it’s time to go back to hotel” Becky tells you and you, Tobin and Christen frown. “Oh no, I don’t mean it like that. Y/N can obviously come with us”
The ride back to the hotel took too long for your liking. You just wanted to get back so that you could have some alone time with your girlfriends.
As soon as you arrived the three of you politely declined team meal which everyone full understood.
You got to the hotel room and quickly got a shower to freshen up whilst Christen and Tobin got changed. When you came out your were wearing some shorts and a sports bra.
“Those pictures you sent really didn’t do you justice” You blushed at Christen’s statement remembering sending those photos to her.
You lay on the bed between Tobin and Christen and Tobin begins scanning your body and you knew exactly what she was doing.
“This one is new” she says pointing to a scar on your leg then placing a kiss on it.
“So is this one” christen says and she copies what Tobin did.
You had several new scars, none no bigger than a quarter but your girlfriends were very observant.
“We’re not playing this game, despite how much I love where it is leading”
Tobin hold her hands up in defence.
“We just worry” Christen tells you.
“I know you do”
You kiss her forehead and then kiss Tobin’s.
“Is that a new hoodie?” You ask Tobin.
“It is” she replies.
You look at her giving her your best puppy dog eyes. You loved Tobin’s clothes and often stole them.
You watch her take her hoodie off and give it to you.
“It’s smells just like you” you say as you put it on “thank you” you kiss her cheek.
You lay between your girlfriends as you all watch a film. These are the moments you missed, when it was just the three of you.
“We’re really happy you’re home” christen tells you.
“I’ll always come back you”

Your Obliviousness Knows No Bounds (Preath x Reader)
Never did Christen Press or Tobin Heath expect that they’d fall for someone else as they had with Y/N, now if only the couple could bypass the reader’s obliviousness to let her know how they feel.
Though they’d find that, that would be a rather daunting task.
Clueless.
You were completely and utterly clueless to their intentions, which annoyed Tobin and Christen to no end, though your obliviousness was actually adorable to the two of them.
The pair had been equally interested in you since you’d joined the USWNT, over a year ago, though they’d known you since their time at Manchester United, where you’d also been their teammate.
You were skilled, incredibly skilled, and had a personality much like Emily’s and Kelley’s, which meant you fit right in when it came to the USWNT.
You were prone to hilarious antics along with the other babies of the team, even though you were considerably older, but it was okay considering Kelley was also in on the antics as well, despite her age.
Both Christen and Tobin found themselves equally drawn to you when you met, and soon that interest developed into something far more, something the pair had discussed at length.
The moment you joined the USWNT, you were drawn to the two, considering you knew them more so than you did the others.
The more time you spent together, the closer you’d gotten, though Christen and Tobin’s advances had gone unnoticed, cluing them in to your utter obliviousness.
Once when Tobin put an arm around you, you’d blushed, thinking that Tobin had mistaken you for Christen and swapping seats with the forward.
The two had blatantly flirted with you, and as to be expected, it completely went over your head, which meant the two had to step up their game.
The night the team decided to go out for a night on the town and you declined, Christen and Tobin had shared a glance, the two seeing this as their chance to finally tell you how they’d felt about you and express the fact that they wanted you to join their relationship.
Hey, we’ll stay with you.” Christen gives you a nudge and you grin.
You’d enjoyed not only her company, but Tobin’s as well, more so than you’d admit when asked.
Tobin throws an arm around you, her hand resting on your side.
“Yeah, why not?” She grins and your cheeks flush.
The others send Christen and Tobin a knowing smirk, each and every one of them knowing full-well what they had planned, it seemed as if you were the only one who didn’t know they were interested in you.
“Just try and keep it PG13.” Kelley smirks, Tobin and Christen’s eyes widening.
Again though, it completely goes over your head.
“PG13 is boring.” You snort, completely thrown off when Kelley barks out a laugh.
Alex grabs the defender’s wrist, tugging her away from the three of you, the defender still snickering.
“Come on, let’s leave these three alone.” Alex sends Tobin a wink, the forward’s cheeks flushing.
You watch the team make their way out of the hotel before you turn towards Tobin and Christen, a grin plastered on your face.
“So, what's the plan?"
***
The yawn you let out is lengthy as you make your way out of the bathroom and into the room where Christen and Tobin are waiting for you, the pair turning your way with matching grins.
You make your way towards the bed, about to sit beside Christen, but before you can she grabs your wrist.
“Here.” She smiles, tugging you in between the two of them, your cheeks flushing when you feel Christen’s thumb caress the back of your hand.
“Th-Thanks.” You stammer, turning to Tobin with a smile, the corners of the forward’s eyes crinkling as she grins your and Christen’s way.
“Are we smashing?” You ask, Christen and Tobin freezing, their eyes wide as they lock before they turn their attention back to you.
“Wh-What!?” Tobin stutters and your brows furrow.
“Smash?” You point towards the controllers on the bed and Tobin chuckles, her cheeks flushing bright red.
“O-O-Oh, ye-yeah.”
Christen bites her bottom lip, the woman sending her girlfriend a wink, letting her know, wordlessly, that she’d thought exactly the same thing she’d been thinking.
Tobin pouts.
Smash had never disappointed her until this very moment, that disappointment melts away when you grab the controller, your eyes narrowed.
“Ummm, I don’t know how to...” You hold the controller up and Tobin smiles, scooting closer, the smell of her perfume clouding your senses.
“Let me teach you.”
***
You didn’t know teaching meant Tobin held your hand so much, you didn’t mind, but you worried Christen did, considering she kept glaring in Tobin’s direction, but that was only because she was getting to hold your hand and Christen wasn’t.
The longer the game went on, the closer the pair had gotten to you, their thighs touching your own, your shoulders bumping theirs every so often.
You surmised that meant the two wanted to be closer, so when you started to get up, the two turned to you in confusion.
“Where are you going?” Tobin asks, visibly pouting and you shrug.
“I figured you two wanted to sit closer together, I was going to-
“Ugh, for fucks sake Y/N.” Christen growls, the woman face palming.
“Wh-What?” You ask in confusion, your head on a swivel as you look between the two women.
“You’re so clueless Y/N.” Tobin pinches the bridge of her nose, the wrinkle between your brows deepening.
“What do you mean...?”
Christen stares at you for a moment, simply stares, before she lurches forwards, cupping your cheeks and pulling you into a kiss, something that catches you completely off guard, the remote in your hand falling to the bed as your hands hover in mid-air.
Tobin’s eyes widen, the woman trying to decipher the look on your face, but all she can see is your wide eyes and unmoving lips.
Christen pulls back abruptly, the forward cringing.
“I-I-I'm so sorry, I-
You stare at Christen blankly, forgetting to blink as your mind races.
Tobin was stiff, the forward’s brown orbs locking with Christen’s green, the brunette still rambling nervously.
Meanwhile you’re lost in your thoughts, thinking back to all the fleeting touches from the pair currently sitting on either side of you, the linger gazes, and soft smiles they’d direct at you and only you.
“Chris.” Tobin places a hand on her girlfriend’s shoulder, trying to calm the stammering woman down.
Suddenly, you bark out a laugh, your hands moving to cover your face, which is growing redder and redder by the second.
“All this time you were trying to make a pass at me?” You ask, voice muffled by the palms of your hands, the couple glancing at one another before turning towards you.
“I think you know the answer to that question.” Christen lets out a nervous giggle and you chuckle.
“Ye-Yeah...”
Christen and Tobin share another glance, Tobin’s mouth opening and closing before she clears her throat.
“So???” She asks, looking at you nervously and your brows furrow, your hands leaving your blood red face.
“So what?” You ask, still oblivious.
Tobin chuckles.
“What did you uhh, think?” She asks, glancing at Christen who’s looking anywhere but at you.
“Wait.” You still, your eyes widening.
“B-Both of you, were making a pass at me...”
You scoff.
“Of course, you were, Christen would never cheat on you.” You shake your head, nervously rubbing the back of your neck.
“I-I think...”
You clear your throat in an attempt to keep yourself calm.
You swallow.
“I think that I didn’t really get a chance to enjoy that kiss.”
Christen is unable to bite back her smile as she glances Tobin’s way, the forward smirking.
“Does that mean you want a chance to?”
Your mouth falls open, your cheeks heating up as you turn away from the two.
“I mean, I wouldn’t be opposed to it-
You’re cut off mid-sentence by a pair of familiar lips, lips belonging to Christen Press.
The kiss is soft, something that takes your breath away, Christen’s hands cupping your cheeks tenderly as your lips continue to meet again and again.
As the two of you part, Christen rests her forehead against yours, the woman’s green orbs fluttering open well before your own.
She can’t help but grin when she sees the blissed out smile on your face.
“So?” Christen whispers, her forehead reluctantly leaving yours as she turns to Tobin who’s grinning at the stunned look on your face.
Your eyes flutter open, locking with Christen’s green orbs before they dart to Tobin’s browns, the woman grinning.
You clear your throat, still unable to find your voice.
“I-I don’t know what to s-say...”
Tobin hums, the forward leaning towards you.
“And what about after this?”
Tobin’s hand slips behind your head, the woman pulling you in for a kiss, one that takes your breath away.
You could in no way compare the two kisses, because they were so vastly different that it couldn’t be described, much like Christen’s kiss, you craved for more, actually chasing Tobin’s lips to steal another kiss before you pull away, your eyes slowly fluttering open.
Tobin rests her forehead against yours, her massive grin making the corners of her eyes crinkle.
“So?” She asks, laughing when Christen’s chin rests on her shoulder, the two watching you inquisitively.
You shake your head, chuckling, as you rest your forehead against Tobin’s.
“I’m an idiot for not realizing what was happening sooner.”
Christen giggles.
“Your obliviousness is absolutely adorable.” She bumps her nose against yours and you chuckle.
“Yeah, but if I wasn’t so oblivious, I would’ve figured it out before now...” You blush, gently taking Christen and Tobin’s hand.
Christen caresses your hand with her fingertips.
“That’s the past.” She bites her bottom lip.
Tobin nods.
“Let’s focus on what you want now...”
You pull your attention away from Christen’s hand smiling when Tobin cups your face, her thumb running along your bottom lip.
Your tongue slips out of your mouth, swiping at your dry lips as your heart races in your chest.
“Wh-What do you want, Y/N?” Tobin asks.
You smile.
“I want...”
You pause, giving their hands a squeeze.
“I want this.”
You pick your head up, looking at the two women with a grin.
“I want you.”

Stars Colliding (Tobin Heath x Reader)
Request
Sorry for any mistakes, please enjoy.
Y/n was in some light clothing, compared to some of the people around her who were dressed like they were going to Antarctica.
Looking over the field, Y/n noticed a familiar face warming up for the match ahead.
“I thought I might find you here.”
Christen’s voice startled Y/n who chuckled, “Well, she went to my first games. Thought it was only fair to return the favor.”
Press took the spot next to Y/n, “It probably takes a stronger stomach to attend a rugby match than a football one.”
“American or European?”
“Don’t even ask that.”
Y/n chuckled at Press saying, “You’re right it’s more brutal than both combined.”
“In all honesty, I am very impressed with your teams. And you Press. Stepping away from the sport that’s become your life to take some personal time, I respect that.”
“Thanks, it means a lot.”
A comfortable silence fell on them as they look to the field, but as Chris watched Tobin she remembered there was something her and Y/n needed to talk about.
“I know you and Tobs have been together for a while and I’m glad Tobin is happy with someone like you. You should have seen how excited she was when she found out you were attending her first Arsenal game.”
Y/n nodded not really knowing what to say, “She’s an amazing woman.”
“That being said, hurt her and there are more than 20 people ready to murder you, given the opportunity, got it?”
“I’d throw myself off of a cliff before I even think about it Press.”
Y/n was looking at Press and told she wanted a more serious answer.
“Loud and clear Press.”
“Good.”
-----
Y/n wasn’t really watching both teams fight it out on the field, mainly because of the attention Tobin commanded when she was on the pitch.
Intentional or not, Tobin put on a show.
So graceful with the ball, in complete control, not letting anything get to her.
Y/n had always admired other sports but when seeing Tobin on the field for the first time, it was the only time Y/n had ever seriously considered doing something other than rugby.
It was a welcomed change of pace rather than the constant harshness and bulldozing of Y/n’s sport.
Y/n would also be lying if she said Tobin’s sport didn’t have its moments.
The dirty tackles.
The onslaught of trying to take out each other’s ankles.
Before Y/n could continue the list, the halftime whistle broke the train of thought.
Getting her phone out, Y/n started to text Tobin, mainly encouraging her on how she looked on the field. For both beauty and skill.
Tobin could only chat for a minute before having to get back to the team so Y/n let her do so.
Then going to social media, wondering why there were so many notifications.
Y/n almost laughed, a lot of the fans had “spotted” Y/n and Christen.
Some of them even suggesting they were in a polyamory relationship, supporting their girlfriend, Tobin.
Some thought Y/n and Christen were together.
But the majority were Preath fans that didn’t even know Y/n.
It never bothered Y/n, being shipped with some of her own teammates as well. All that mattered was that Y/n knew Tobin was going to be the girl she’d eventually marry.
Putting the phone away, Y/n looked onto the field, waiting for halftime to end.
-----
Y/n was escorted by security down to the locker rooms, to see Tobin again.
Tobs had barely come out of the locker room, already ready to go home when she saw Y/n. Tobin smiled even brighter, jogging to Y/n, jumping into Y/n’s arms.
“Baby you made it.”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Y/n was only a little surprised when Tobin kissed her, but she wasn’t complaining.
Once they pulled apart, they both took a moment to collect themselves, “Tobs you were amazing out there.”
“I’m just happy you came.”
Y/n hummed saying, “I was really hoping you’d join me in a night walk on the beach.”
“I’d love to.”
-----
Y/n tried to keep her eyes on the sky, admiring the stars that were already out but it was hard when Tobin’s eyes seemed like they contained millions of stars.
“You know if you keep staring at me you’ll miss the light show.” Y/n just hummed, brushing some of the hair out of Tobin’s face. Kissing Tobin’s temple, Y/n saw Tobin’s face light up but her smile got bigger and Tobin was pointing to the sky.
Y/n looked, now curious, almost gasping as a shooting star came into view.
One more went by and the sky seemed to go quiet.
Now it was Tobin’s turn to admire Y/n.
Normally Y/n would be so serious during games and some caused more pain than others, Tobin was often astounded by how Y/n kept going.
And seeing Y/n with joy while looking at something they both love was a nice change.
And even if neither of them spoke they knew what the other was thinking.
I love you.

Love You or Lose You (Alpha Soran x Omega Reader)
Request: This is the first part to the Prequel for Playing with Fire. Its right after the 2016 Olympics, and R missed the PK instead of Christen. Things have been rough with her Alphas and she just needs a fresh Start. Barca might be the start she was after, but her mates might not like that too much... Especially when she leaves in the middle of the night.
Basically 4000 words of Lindsey and Emily being idiots, R being sad and Preath and Kellex being worried.
The air was heavy in the locker room, pressing into you like an anvil settled on your soul. You could remember a time when you had felt at home here. Like you belonged here.
A time when Lindsey and Emily had actually loved you, and you didn’t feel like an unneeded (or wanted) burden on the national team (more like your family).
You shook your head, tucking your frame tighter into the small locker that belonged to your most dominant alpha, pulling a leftover sweater tighter against your face.
No. The locker that belonged to Lindsey. She wasn’t your alpha anymore, she had said so herself, but your inner omega still cried out for her and Emily nonetheless. A fight didn’t change the marks on your neck, or what your inner animal knew to be true.
Yet it changed everything if the unbearable pain ripping through your chest was anything to go by.
Another sob left your lips, muffled only slightly by the heavy material of Lindsey’s sweatshirt that smelled distinctly like both her and Emily. It did little to ease your instincts, but you would take whatever you could get right now.
There was no reason to hold back your tears, there was no one else there to see them anyway. No one who would come looking for the source of the distressed pheromones you were emitting. No one to care that you were falling apart. It didn’t matter that you were all in the same city.
They were all too busy trying to process their own issues from the loss. The loss you knew fell squarely on your shoulder. If only you had made that PK, none of this would have happened.
You shuttered at the mix of emotions trickling down your mating bond. Lindsey’s anger and Emily’s clear frustration. You gulped pushing against their emotions with an overwhelming wave of your own. You willed as much calm as you could muster down the bond-forming a little barrier between your omega and their alphas, and shoved your own despair as far away from it as you could.
The block wouldn’t hold forever, but it would do the job for now. Bonds were a bitch to shut down completely, and a permanent block was going to have to be something you figured out later.
Your inner omega growled, digging her claws into your brain. While the human side of your head got why you were doing this, your animal side was loath to deny your alphas the privilege of your deepest emotions. Especially when she thought they could fix it if they knew.
You let out a little whimper at the sound of the door, tucking yourself tighter into a ball as footsteps approached.
“Hey, Kid just thought I’d let you know your Uber is here,”
You peeked out at the kind voice, semi soothing scent, and worried eyes of the athletic. You tried to smile at the woman, but you knew she wasn’t fooled. She knew you too well for that.
“Thanks Bailey,” You sniffled, easing into a sitting position and turning to fully face the woman, and running a hand through your wild hair (only making it messier than it was before).
“I’m gonna miss you kid,” She said, and you could tell that she wanted to say more. But both of you knew it wouldn’t change anything. The deal was done and you couldn’t find it within yourself to regret it.
“I’m gonna miss you too, but you know I can’t stay,”
She nodded, she would have left too if she was in your shoes. Barça was making lemonade out of rotten lemons.
You took another gulping breath into Lindsey’s sweatshirt before shoving it into your backpack, and standing. Your eyes strayed towards the other lockers around you, landing on several items of clothing left by your friends.
“Doesn’t mean I have to like it,” She grumbled under her breath as she headed towards the door.
“No, it doesn’t,” You breathed out, heading towards the various lockers instead of the door.
Leaving here would be like leaving a part of your soul behind. Your fingers traced over the wooden panels that outlined each locker. You only paused twice. Once outside Emily’s locker to steal a coveted Virginia soccer t-shirt and again at Tobin’s taking a re-inc sweater that you knew Christen wore more than Tobin and a LFG t-shirt that smelled distinctly like Kellex.
The quad (as the national team called them) were your team moms, and their scents all comforted you. They would make whatever apartment you ended up in in Barça feel like home.
Bailey raised her eyebrow at you as you stuffed the items into your backpack. You just shrugged. “they won’t miss them anyway,”
It was true, and even if it wasn’t you were sure Chris would still back you up when she found out exactly why you left.
You paused at the door, taking one last glance around the room, looking for some sign to stay. You rubbed your chest when another wave of negative emotions from your mates passed through your bond.
You cleared your throat and shook your head at Bailey’s raised eyebrows. The weight in your chest told you that you were making exactly the right move.
She sighed, leading you towards the loading bay where your Uber was waiting.
“Thank you for everything,” You said softly, pulling the older omega into a tight hug. She knew you meant more than walking you to the car park. She was there for you when no one else was, and you would be eternally grateful for all she had done for you.
She held you for a long moment, rocking you side to side before pulling back to hold you at arm's length. “You got it, kid. Be safe and text me when you land alright?”
You gave her a nod and a tight smile. “Look after them?”
She rolled her eyes. If those two idiots had done anything even close to what they had done to you to her, she wouldn’t have been nearly as forgiving as you seemed to be.
Then again you were also moving to Spain.
“Of course,” She said, shoeing you towards the car.
She would make sure they were very informed on how you were doing.
****
Christen knew that there was something wrong. Very wrong. Before her phone even dinged. She could feel it in her bond with you. The torrent of emotions that had suddenly shifted into a calm she had never felt from you before.
The bond the two of you shared was a special one, forged the moment she had laid eyes on you (even more special than the one you shared with her mates). The second your small, skittish form had entered the dining hall (tucked carefully under Emily's arm) her omega had claimed you as its pup, and you latched onto her quiet calm nature without a second thought.
She knew you almost as well as your mates knew you, and the bond you shared (while different) was nearly as strong. And therefore your bond with the rest of the quad was also relatively strong.
For an unknown reason, it was keeping her awake. It was like her omega was waiting for a sign, something to tell her that you were safe and sound.
She practically jumped out of her skin at the ding of her phone, fumbling to unlock the screen and find the message you had sent her.
She froze when her alpha shifted against her, inadvertently jostling the two omega’s attached to her other side.
“Wha- appened?” Tobin mumbled, nuzzling into her stomach. Christen sighed at the wave of soothing scents that Tobin let off, trying to calm her nerves even in sleep.
“Shh, baby bear is texting me. Go back to sleep,” Christen said, scratching the alphas scalp gently with one hand and pulling up the text with the other.
She blinked at the bright screen once, twice, three times.
It was five words, cold and emotionless. It reminded her of the call marines made to their parents when they went to boot camp.
Landed in Spain. I’m fine.
She couldn’t help her sharp intake of breath at the singular line, or the anxiety that suddenly engulfed her heart (immediately jolting all 3 of her mates awake).
Before she could even blink she was moved onto Tobin’s lap, and Alex and Kelley cuddled tightly into either side of her. She could feel their concern flowing down their bond, and their efforts to comfort even though they had no idea what had caused such a strong response.
“What’s up with baby bear?” Tobin said, gently rocking from side to side.
Christen’s mouth opened and closed several times as she tried to parse out what emotions were hers, what emotions were coming from her mating bond, and the irritating calm that was coming from her bond with you.
“I…-I don’t,” She stuttered, unable to skate the feeling that there was something very bad behind the steadfast wall you had thrown up in your bond.
“Give me that,” Kelley half growled, pulling the phone out from Christen’s loose grip.
She didn’t like to be woken up in the middle of the night, and she would kill your mates if you were texting Christen because of something stupid they did. You had sent them way too many texts like that already if she was honest.
“What the fuck?” She breathed out when her eyes landed on the words. This was so much worse than Soran being dumbasses.
“What?” Alex asked, yanking the phone away from Kelley.
Be nice,” Tobin chastised lightly, leaning over to read the words that had sent her most dominant omega mate into a tailspin.
She frowned at the bright screen, trying to remember the last time the two of you had really talked. Had you mentioned moving to Spain in passing? Had she just blown it off?
A charged silence hung between them. They all knew you were taking the loss hard, and that you and your mates were struggling to work your way through the slew of emotions that came with it. But they never imagined it would come to this. That you would literally flee the country.
“This is a joke right?” Kelley asked, her voice cracking.
“It’s gotta be,” Alex mumbled in disbelief. You were her cuddle buddy, her baby bear. You couldn’t have left the country without saying goodbye first.
“I’m going to find out,” Christen said finally, taking back her phone.
She bit her lip, pressing your contact picture and holding the phone to her ear. It rang once and then went voicemail. She frowned, shaking her head at her mates, ending the call. Maybe you accidentally pressed the wrong button.
She pressed your contact photo a second time.
Again it rang once and went to voicemail. It definitely wasn’t a coincidence this time, and she would bet anything that the boring automated greeting that came on instead of your goofy one wasn’t a coincidence either.
She sighed, waiting for the beep. “Hey kiddo, um I got your text and I thought we could have a check-in maybe? Call me back when you can,” She paused, unsure of how to finish. She didn’t think anything she said would ease the ache in her chest. “we love you,”
“Call Lindsey,” Tobin said firmly, an order lurking just below the words. If you weren’t going to give them answers, then your alphas better be ready to explain what the fuck was going on.
*****
Lindsey didn’t quite know what she expected when she picked up the phone, but it wasn’t a very annoyed Christen Press on the other side.
Well, maybe she expected it a little bit (she knew you would go to the quad after the argument. You always went to the quad), but she never imagined the words that would come out of your team mom’s mouth.
“Whoa, slow down. She said she’s where?” Lindsey said, sitting up off of Emily’s shoulder where she had been leaning.
“Spain, she said she landed in Spain,” Emily could barely make out Christen’s worried voice through the phone over Lindsey’s low growl.
“There’s no way!” The more dominant alpha barked, baring her teeth just slightly.
Maybe she had said some things she shouldn’t have, but you wouldn’t just run off to another country without telling them. She pushed down her hurt and settled for frustration instead.
Emily scooched away from Lindsey slightly, rubbing her ear. “Babe, if you’re going to be this loud at 3 am, at least turn on speakerphone.” She felt odd, her bond unusually unbalanced. She could feel the torrent of emotions running through Lindsey, but your side of the bond was silent. It had never been silent before.
The two of you had known each other since you were in diapers, and your bond reflected that. She should have felt something. While you weren’t always outwardly expressive, you felt everything deeply, and vividly. You were the fire to Lindsey’s flood, and for your usual smoldering flame of emotions to just be snuffed out felt wrong.
The two alphas shared a look before Lindsey gave in and gave a short nod, pressing the little button. Emily had just as much a right to know what was happening as she did, but she still didn’t like being ordered around.
“You’re on speaker Chris,” Lindsey grumbled. She wrapped an arm around Emily and pulled her closer.
“What did you two idiots do to our baby bear?” Christen’s voice came out in a growl, the sound low and dangerous.
Lindsey stiffened, her alpha bristling more than it normally would at the tone. “We didn’t do anything.”
Emily nuzzled into her neck, trying to help her settle the mix of anger, pain and shock flowing through their bond. Just because she couldn’t feel you, didn’t mean that you couldn’t feel them.
You were not some innocent party here. Lindsey hadn’t meant all the things she said, but then you had said some pretty hurtful things too.
Tobin’s voice through the phone was low and clear, holding an air of dominance she rarely let out. “Watch who you’re growling at.”
Lindsey gulped. She was never very good at controlling her emotions, especially when things went wrong. It was easier to respond with anger than to admit she was vulnerable sometimes. But she really didn’t want to have a fight with Tobin, not when they both knew she would lose.
“And don’t give us that bullshit!” Both alphas winced at Kelley’s tone. The Omega had the parental tone of disapproval down to an art. She could have been one of their parents, scolding their irresponsibility for mating you before any of you were older than 21 (Emily’s mom had been angry enough to make up for your parents’ lack of care). Emily was sure her mother had used the exact same tone.
“We had a fight,” Emily sighed, leaning deeper into Lindsey. It was more than a fight. It was an explosion of stubborn communication that had ended in you walking out.
“A stupid fight. We’ll call her and have it all patched up by tomorrow,” Lindsey added, pinching the bridge of her nose. Why were omegas so frustrating?
“She left the fucking country. I don’t think getting her back is going to be so easy,” Alex said, and both women could practically hear her eye roll.
All six of them knew how stubborn you were, and getting you to listen was going to be far from a cakewalk.
Lindsey huffed. “Camp is in like 2 days. If worst comes to worst, we’ll just talk to her there.” If you wouldn’t answer their phone calls, then they would just corner you at camp. You weren’t good at maintaining the silent treatment when they were both in front of you. And Lindsey still wasn’t convinced this wasn't more than an overblown tantrum.
“She put a block in our bond Linds,” Christen said sternly, trying to break through the more dominant alphas shell.
Sure the three of you had had arguments before, but whatever this was, it was fundamentally different.
Lindsey frowned. You would never do that to Christen. The two of you were too close for that. At least that’s what she thought.
“We’ll get to the bottom of it. We promise,” Emily said softly, already pulling out her phone. Now hopefully she would be able to get you to answer on the other side.
“Good luck, you’re going to need it,” Tobin grumbled, hanging up.
If those two idiots didn’t fix it, she was going to let Kelley unleash her wrath on them.
Emily bit her lip as she pressed your contact picture (a photo of the two of you with bright 4-year-old smiles covered in brownie batter). It rang 4 times before going to voicemail.
Emily could imagine you staring at the screen, debating on whether or not you should answer. It hurt a little that you had declined instead.
She swallowed down her tears, glancing sideways at her still frozen mate.
“Hey babe, um I know we’re not really talking right now, but um. Christen called and we’re worried. Please call me or Linds back,” she worried her bottom lip, wondering if she should add more, but the time ran out before she could.
“Damn it,” she huffed, tossing her phone onto the nightstand. She hadn’t told you she loved you.
Lindsey smiled sadly at her, rubbing her back soothingly, and pulling out her own phone.
Her thumb hovered over a photo of the two of you cuddled up in one of your famous nests. She smiled wistfully down at it. How had this gotten out of hand so quickly?
She pressed the button, holding the phone up to her ear. It didn’t even ring before it went to the robotic voicemail. What happened to the one that had you giggling because they wouldn’t stop kissing your neck?
She didn’t have time to think it through before the beep sounded. She cleared her throat.
“Hey, um I heard you were in Spain. What’s that about? Call me back,” she too tossed her phone down.
“I can’t feel her,” Emily mumbled after a few minutes. Lindsey sighed.
She closed her eyes tightly with a sigh and began to feel for your presence in the bond. If you weren’t going to answer them, then she was going to make sure you knew how unhappy with this situation she was.
Her eyebrows furrowed when she was met with a wall of unsteady calm. It was like it was pulsing like your inner omega was pacing behind it trying to get through. She focused on the wall you had created and gave it a little push.
She smirked when it bent a little bit to her will. “I think I got it,”
She pushed back harder, the wall you creating molding around her alpha as she tried to reach your omega. She was almost there, she could almost touch your omega. One last push was all she needed.
But just as she went to give it, a blast of calm shoved her backward.
Her eyes blinked open at the ping of her phone and she scrambled to pick up the device.
It was two words. No caps, no punctuation. A simple “fuck off” that they could practically hear reverberating in their heads.
“What do we do now?” Emily asked softly.
Lindsy’s smirk widened.
“We call her until she answers us again.”

subtle hints (jackie groenen x muwfc!reader)
surprisingly, an injury might just be the turning point you needed.
(ft. preath as team moms)
word count: 2697 ish
rated T for this is feeding into my massive jackie crush but oh well and F for fluffy babies
——
christen shook her head as she watched you and jackie from across the field.
you were laughing at something jackie said, completely missing the loving stare the midfielder gave you.
“she’s so oblivious isn’t she?”
christen nods at tobin, who then wraps her arms around her.
“if i were pinoe i would intervene, but i’m not, so i guess we’ll just have to see who does it first,” christen sighs.
“i’ll-“
“tobin no we’re not going to bet on people’s lives!”
“shh i wasn’t done talking. i’ll bet you a coffee date that it’s y/n.”
christen thought about it for a minute.
“are you kidding? it’s totally going to be jackie. you’re on.”
tobin and christen glanced back at the two of you, jackie letting out a squeal when you pick her up over your shoulder and run around.
the two watch in silence until tobin says:
“wait isn’t jackie a judo champion?”
~~
“yeah i’m just really grateful for this team, casey’s done a really good job bringing us-“
your interview is interrupted when jackie jumps onto your back.
you grunt at the impact and stumble a bit before maintaining your balance again.
“jacks im in an interview,” you mutter quietly.
jackie only gives the interviewer a charming smile before laying her chin on your head, mumbling back:
“so what? i can still scare you whenever i want.”
the way she said it made you just a little bit nervous.
it sounded almost, flirty.
your heart skipped a little at the prospect of that but you shook it off and gave the interviewer a smile.
“sorry what was the question again?”
you finished the interview a few minutes later with jackie still on your back.
“you gave me a heart attack earlier you know?”
jackie just giggled and said:
“oh i know, that was the point.”
you rolled your eyes and pretended to drop her, the midfielder letting out a yelp when you do so, but when you catch her again she slaps the back of your head.
“don’t do that you-“
“oh sorry did i give you a heart attack?”
jackie huffs in annoyance but still wraps her arms around your neck.
the two of you walked- well more like you walked back to the locker room, manchester united having just won their game against west ham.
the locker room was met with cheers, especially aimed at tobin and christen, who both got their first goals this game (and russo who had a brace).
all through casey’s locker room speech, jackie was next to you on the bench with her head on your shoulder.
your eyes met christen’s, who gave you a knowing smile but you just responded by tilting your head in confusion.
to add to your confusion, when tobin turned to christen, she saw the two of you gave you a teasing wink, with you just furrowing your eyebrows in response.
however, the second half of casey’s briefing was barely heard by you, because in jackie’s boredom she decided to start running her fingers up and down you leg.
yeah there’s no way you could focus on what casey was saying.
across the room tobin almost bursts out laughing.
“y/n looks like she’s about to combust.”
christen looks at you after tobin’s whisper and has to bite back a smile upon seeing your state.
luckily for you the second half of the briefing was fairly short, and when casey dismissed everyone, you shot up out of your seat, a blush crawling up your neck.
“are you okay?” a concerned jackie asked from beside you.
“no i’m fine just- just had to stretch my legs that’s all. they were falling asleep.”
jackie furrows her eyebrows a little but nods, accepting that response.
on your way back to the bus, jackie grabbed your hand and intertwined her fingers with yours, pulling you with her.
your cheeks flushed red at the act, but you followed her nonetheless.
she held your hand through the remainder of the trip all the way back to the apartment you shared with her, christen, and tobin, who gave you very pointed looks through it all.
tobin whispers to christen when she sees jackie give you a kiss on the cheek.
“y/n is so oblivious that i agree with you it’s going to be jackie. is it too late us to call off the bet?”
~~
you jumped up and down, nerves eating up at you in the locker room.
you were the last one left in the room, everyone else having walked out and began warming up.
it was the game against arsenal, one of the most hyped games of the FAWSL, one that would determine who would sit atop the league table.
and you were in your head.
you often had prematch nerves, but they got especially bad in big games.
you were worried.
what if you messed up?
what if you had the one chance and you blew it and then-
“you know everyone is outside right?”
a soft voice took you out of your thoughts and you spun around to see jackie, with an even softer smile plastered on her face.
your nerves were clearly visible, jackie let out a knowing sigh before adding:
“you’ll do great y/n. you’re one of the best forwards i know and you’ll kill it today okay?”
you gulp and nod, still jumping up and down, trying to shake off your nerves.
jackie watches you for a little bit before pulling you into a hug.
your jumping stops and your body softens immediately at the contact, releasing all the tension and stress you had up to that point.
the two of you stood silent for a while, your body sagging into hers, the midfielder’s hand tracing patterns onto your back.
when jackie pulls away a few moments later and looks at you with so much admiration in her eyes, it makes your heart stop in your chest for just a bit.
the two of you forget your surroundings, your hands falling to her waist while hers sat around your neck.
unbeknownst to you, you were glancing at jackie’s lips, and she noticed, a faint blush present on her cheeks.
then before anything could happen,
“hey what are you guys-oh.”
jackie turned and shot away from you so fast it was a wonder that she didn’t get whiplash from it.
tobin stood frozen in the doorway.
you were confused.
you stood there glancing back and forth between tobin and jackie, one frozen in the doorway (still) and the other sporting a bright red blush.
“what’s happening?”
no one answered your question, and the three of you stood in silence until tobin snapped out of her phase and muttered:
“fuck chris is going to kill me.”
and now you were even more confused.
“what? can someone tell me what’s happening?”
jackie cleared her throat before saying:
“nothing! let’s all get back to warmups now!”
with that said, jackie rushed out onto the pitch, leaving you and a very bothered tobin in the room.
you glanced at tobin in confusion once more, and followed jackie out of the room.
~~
it was tough, no doubt about it.
the game was deadlocked at 0-0 for the entirety of the first half, and everyone was getting a little frustrated at it.
after a brief halftime talk, the second half began and everything was fine until the 60th minute.
you get the ball via a short pass from jackie, and you were making a good run up the pitch before you saw her.
daan was chasing you and slid in, tackling you and knocking the ball away.
her tackle was unfortunately a little late.
you fell at an awkward angle, your ankle twisting slightly in the process as you go down with a pained cry.
jackie’s at your side in a flash, face full of worry.
seconds later christen and tobin run over, the former cradling your head as tobin calls for the medical team to take a look at you.
“it hurts,” you mutter quietly.
“oh i know i know everything will be fine okay?” christen said soothingly, gently stroking your head.
as the medical team arrive, they take one look at your ankle before giving you a diagnosis.
you would have to sit out.
for the next few weeks.
it was sprained.
fuck.
suddenly you hear a loud scream in dutch, looking up to see jackie face to face with daan.
the normally happy and smiley girl was livid now, screaming at the other dutch midfielder.
you saw christen nudge tobin to get up to try to console jackie, and viv and jill hopped in as well to calm the two dutch midfielders.
jackie still didn’t relent, screaming at the three of them now in addition to daan, mostly in dutch so tobin was left in a very confused state.
you had enough.
“help me up.”
christen furrowed her eyebrows.
“no, y/n you need to lie still you’ll hurt-“
“i said help me up.”
“y/n no.”
“if you don’t help me up i will figure out a way to get up by myself.”
christen sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose before relenting.
by now beth came to console daan, who seemed to calm down a little bit with the forward beside her.
you fight your way out of christen’s grasp and hobble over towards jackie, who at this point is still screaming, and place a hand on her shoulder.
she stops immediately and turns around to look at you.
“why are you up?! your ankle- you need to-“
“jack. calm down i’m okay.”
“no you’re not! you shouldn’t be up- you need to lie down you’ll hurt your ankle if you keep standing and-“
“jack. seriously. i’m okay.”
jackie nodded with a little bit of uncertainty, worry written all over her face.
“promise me something?”
“depends on what it is,” jackie said, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.
“promise me you won’t kill daan?”
“she went for your ankle! how can i-“
“promise me.”
“i promise i will try not to-“
“jack.”
“fine fine i promise.”
“okay good. i’m fine okay?”
jackie nodded, giving you a hug before trying to help you off the pitch.
“jack you still have a game to play,” you laugh.
“i don’t care i just want to help you-“
“i will call casey if you don’t let go of me.”
jackie gasps.
“you wouldn’t.”
“watch me.”
“i-“
“casey! one of your midfielders is running away!”
“you’re an asshole you know that?” jackie mutters.
you give her a cheeky grin before she whispers again:
“i’d punch you if you weren’t injured.”
“groenen!”
jackie’s head whips around when she gets called by casey, and she relents, letting you make your way off the pitch with the medics.
~~
christen gets subbed out in the 75th minute.
she comes in to check on you immediately.
“how’s the ankle?”
you let out a defeated sigh before saying:
“sprain. i’ll be out for the next month.”
christen wraps her arms around you to comfort you.
“did jackie kill daan?” you mumble, face covered by christen’s arm.
“no your girlfriend didn’t kill anyone.”
you blush a little at her words.
“she’s not my girlfriend,” you pout.
christen pulls back to look at you.
“yet.”
“chris!”
“i’m just saying!”
“jackie’s not my girlfriend. plus hypothetically speaking, even if i did like her she doesn’t even like me back.”
“you don’t know that!”
“yes i do i-“
“you won’t know if you don’t ask her.”
“i said hypothetically! i don’t like her! she’s just my best friend!”
“sure y/n, i mean tobin and i were best friends once.”
“that’s different.”
“is it though?”
upon seeing your silence, christen pulled back a little bit and gave you another hug.
both of you jump when you hear screaming and cheers outside, most likely from someone finally scoring a goal.
“i think we scored.”
“how do you know?”
christen blushed before saying, “i’m pretty sure i just heard tobin cheer.”
you fake a gag and christen gives you a little shove.
the two of you talk a bit about how you’re adjusting to manchester and about the us team.
the clicking of cleats on the ground is what makes the both of you look up.
“what’s-“
“hi jack.”
christen shot up out of her seat.
“i’m going to go look for tobin.”
the forward hurriedly rushed out of the room and now it was just the two of you in the room.
the midfielder walked a bit more until she was right in front of you.
“how’s the ankle?”
“oh just a sprain, don’t worry jack.”
“how long are you going to be out?”
“about a month.”
jackie lets out frustrated sigh and runs her hands through her ponytail.
“i should’ve broken her ankles-“
“jack!”
you try to stand up, before jackie shoves you back down.
“no. you’re going to hurt yourself. stop.”
you sigh and pout, looking up at the midfielder.
fuck she’s pretty.
“pouting won’t work y/n, even if it is cute.”
your cheeks flush hard at her words.
maybe christen was right?
maybe you did like her?
“hey.”
jackie’s voice snaps you out of your thoughts.
“what’s on your mind?”
you shake your head, whispering a quick “nothing” before glancing down at your bandaged ankle.
you let in a sharp intake of breath when jackie tilted your head up with her hand propped under your chin.
“no what’s the matter?”
you gulp, trying your best not to get lost in the midfielder’s strikingly blue eyes.
“i- i like you,” you blurt out suddenly, cheeks flushing red at your sudden confession.
jackie’s eyes widen a little in surprise but her grip under your chin never falters.
“i-“
jackie’s response gets cut off when tobin walks in.
“hey! how’s my favorite forward do-“
the older forward stops suddenly upon seeing the position the two of you are in, and backs away slowly.
both of you laugh at her reaction, before you turn to one another.
at this point jackie still hadn’t replied and you were getting a little nervous.
“i get it if you don’t want to be friends with me or something- i didn’t mean to make it weird and-“
you’re cut off by jackie’s laugh.
you furrow your eyebrows.
“and now you’re laughing? did i do something?”
jackie looked at you, eyes bright before saying:
“i’m just relieved. i’ve been flirting with you ever since you joined united dummy.”
“oh. oh.”
your cheeks are a little red, and you start to say:
“oh um i’m a little oblivious i guess? i’m-“
jackie cuts you off when she kisses you.
you gasp a little in surprise but kiss her back softly, pulling her down into your lap.
your hands fell to her waist, one of jackie’s arms draped over your shoulder.
tobin’s wolf whistle is what makes the two of you break away.
the two of you hear a slap and a “tobin!” and a “sorry!” before you turn to the doorway.
you blush when you see casey and the majority of the team (and some of the arsenal players) who came to check on you.
jackie suddenly realized the position she was in and shot up out of your lap, face painted scarlet.
thank god for you, casey didn’t comment on it, only briefing you a bit over your ankle.
however, your teammates weren’t as kind.
as soon as casey left the room cheers and whistles broke out.
“damn jackie!”
“that’s why you were trying to kill daan!”
“aw your girlfriend got injured!”
you and jackie stood blushing, but all and all you were met with lots of supportive teasing.
“hey who said it first?”
you blushed before muttering, “i did.”
“YES YOU OWE ME A COFFEE DATE CHRIS!”
christen lets out a sigh before mumbling:
“i shouldn’t have helped you y/n.”

Overprotective: Alphas Preath x Canadian omega reader
A/N: I hope y’all enjoyed this! This was based on a lovely request for overprotective alphas Preath x reader. My requests are open so feel free! Ps. I triple checked, but please let me know if I misgendered Quinn at any point so I can fix it.
Y/N shook a little as she put on her red jersey. She was the newest call up for the Canadian National Team and of course her first start was against their bitter rivals, the USWNT.
“You okay little one?” Christine Sinclair asked, causing Tanc, and a number of the other veterans to look over in worry.
Y/N was able to fight off the urge to roll her eyes as a small smile appeared on her face. At 20 she was one of the younger players on the team which always leads to the veterans being protective, but it was a whole other thing that she also happened to be an omega who had not found her mates yet.
This meant that she was rarely left on her own, the older omegas and alphas alike on the team always ensuring that she had everything she needed, that she was comfortable and safe and that other alphas didn’t get too close to her.
“Yeah, just nervous.” Y/N said, leaning in to the woman who had basically became her Mom since she had joined the National Team. And Sinc was the first to find out that she was going to join the Portland Thorns after this year, planning to take her last few credits online as she was going to graduate a year or two earlier than expected. Which had of course made her even more maternal and protective.
“Don’t be nervous kid. You know we’ve got your back. Plus you’re one of the best players in the world right now. You’re going to crush it as always.” Tanc said, messing up her hair making Y/N pout.
The team laughed and Janine patted Y/N’s arm. “You got this kid.” Janine said pulling Y/N into a side hug, rubbing her back comfortingly for a few seconds before she got called away, pressing a quick kiss to Y/N’s cheek causing her to blush and pout about being babied constantly.
Jessie smiled at Y/N as she watched all of your other teammates bombard her. Y/N stuck her tongue out atJessie, knowing that she enjoyed the fact that they didn’t baby her quite as much anymore now that Y/N had joined the team.
Jessie just laughed, shrugging her shoulders, knowing that just like her, Y/N secretly enjoyed the older players doting on her.
Y/N lined up behind Quinn with Rhian behind her. Y/N started to tense up, her hands shaking. “Hey Y/N, what did the fish say when it hit the wall?” Quinn asked.
Y/N looked up at her friend, knowing what they were doing. Quinn has an uncanny ability of always knowing when Y/N was anxious and how to snap her out of it.
A slow smile creeped up on Y/N’s face as she looked at her friend. “I have no idea Quinn. What did it say?” Y/N asked.
“DAM!!!” Quinn screamed, starting to laugh obnoxiously. Making Y/N giggle at her friend’s dorkiness.
“There’s that smile. You got this Buddy.” Quinn grinned, grabbing their mascot’s small hand as the walkout music started to play. Y/N looked at her little mascot, her brown hair in a ponytail and a gap between her teeth.
The little girl beamed and took Y/N’s hand into hers. The little girl had to be 4 or 5. “You do good!!” The little girl squealed confidently making Y/N smile and laugh as she walked with her cute mascot onto the pitch.
Y/N’s nerves started to calm down as she was surrounded by her teammates in the huddle “I know we’ve got this game. I know everyone is counting us out but we have luck on our side because it’s baby duck’s first start today! They won’t know what hit them!! Tank cheered.
The team laughed at Y/N’s exaggerated pout at her nickname. Before long Y/N found herself in her place on the back line in front of Erin, who was also really protective of her little defender.
“Ready to crush your first start ducky?” Erin asked, making Y/N’s nerves disappear fully as she playfully glared at one of her favorite people.
“Well I know y’all have my back so I think so.” Y/N said sincerely and Erin grinned and ruffled her hair. “Show them what you’re made of kid!” Erin called as she took her place between the posts.
The ref blew the whistle and I focused on the game as USA kicked off.
It was nearly half time as Y/N was taken off her feet once again by a US player, this time it was Lindsay Horan. Erin helped Y/N up as Tanc and Sinc yelled at the ref for not calling the umpteenth foul that was committed against Y/N.
“They wouldn’t be going after you if you weren’t crushing it kid.” Erin said, clapping Y/N’s shoulder. It was only a few more minutes until the whistle was blown at halftime.
Coach tried his best to give his halftime pep talk as all of the veterans doted over Y/N, Janine and Sinc putting ice on her right ankle and left knee as Tanc ranted that “If my child is taken down one more time there will be hell to pay.”
Y/N couldn’t help but smile, though she’d never actually admit it she enjoyed her teammates babying her most of the time.
“Okay ladies, I heard Press and Heath are subbing in at the half. Mark them well and watch for Press’s speed and Heath’s ball skills. Okay we got this. Let’s go ladies!”
The team headed back out and warmed up for a few minutes before both teams lined up and Sinc kicked off the second half.
Right from the get go Y/N was amazed by Heath’s ball skills. She was able to contain the play with her speed, until she was clipped in her already sore ankle, going down with a temp of pain and a few tears slipping down her face.
She could hear the uproar as pretty much all of the team’s veterans were yelling at either the ref or the player who had gotten her in the ankle.
A soft hand touched her shoulder and she looked into the green eyes of the US striker and felt the mate bond settle into place.
Before Y/N could see much Heath jumped in and as Y/N met her eyes, she felt the mate bond too. Christen held her tightly as Tobin yelled for medics and proceeded to push Sam Mewis backwards with a snarl for hurting her mate.
“What the hell Tobin?!” Rose asked as she patted a shocked Sam’s shoulder. The Canadians stopped yelling, confused by Tobin going off on her own teammate.
“You hurt my mate, I hurt you.” Tobin growled, starting to throw herself at Sam. Everyone’s eyes widened as Pinoe caught Tobin, Quinn helping Megan hold Tobin back.
“Oh hell no!” Tanc and Sinc yelled as they stomped toward where Christen was a holding Y/N as she cried as the medics were moving her ankle.
“Get away from her!” Tanc yelled, letting out dominant pheromones, causing Y/N to cower a bit, her mega close to the surface because of the pain and finding her mates.
Christen glared at the Canadian veterans but did her best to remain calm for Y/N, releasing calming pheromones, which made the younger omega relax into her embrace more.
“Tons and I won’t hurt her Sinc. You know that.” Christen said.
Sinc sighed and nodded as Tobin came rushing back just as the trainers said “It looks like a sprain, we’re going to take you off, but you should be good in a few days to a week.” The make alpha said, going to help the omega up and to the sidelines. Christen and Tobin growled, Tobin carefully picking up their newfound mate and starting toward the sideline, Christen glaring at anyone who dare to come close.
Sinc, Tanc and Erin were loath to admit it, but they could all tell that the two American alphas were going to be good for their little ducky.
“Heath!!” Sinc yelled as Tobin and Christen made their way back to the field after making sure their mate was comfortable on the sideline.
Tobin turned toward her club captain as Christine smirked a little “Congrats but you hurt her, and they’ll never find the body.”
Tobin rolled her eyes but smiled, clapping her Canadian friend on the shoulder “You know we won’t but thanks for looking out for her.”
Sinc nodded as both the teams went to line up again, both Mewis and Heath being shown yellow cards.
Y/N watched the exchange and blushed when Christen winked at her after scoring a goal. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad having two more overprotective alphas in her life. Y/N thought with a smile.

Stuck with the Best Moms [Preath x Daughter!Reader]
requested by anon: Heyy! Love your writing! Could you do one where R is Preath teen daughter? And how they are doing during quarantine?
A/N: i tried to get this done when they announced their moved to man united but oh well better late than never
“Ma! I’m bored.” You whine.
Tobin chuckles at your position on the couch, as you’re upside down, head hanging off the edge.
“What are you complaining about?” Christen calls, entering the room.
“Mom, there’s nothing to do!” You exasperate and move to sit up right. Your mom rolls her eyes, taking a seat next to you.
“(Y/N), you are 17 years old. Certainly, there’s something you can find that will entertain you.”
“But I wanna do something with you guys.” You huff. Christen and Tobin soften at that and exchange a silent conversation. During the lockdown, the two forwards had been quite busy with re-inc, leaving you to your own devices.
“Have you been feeling a little neglected, kiddo?” Tobin coos, moving to the other side of you.
Leaning your head on your ma’s shoulder, your cheeks flush. “No.” You mumble.
“(Y/N), you know you can tell us anything.” Christen takes your hands in hers.
“It’s just—— When we went into lockdown, I thought we’d finally get to spend some quality time together, but you guys have just been really busy with re-inc.” You spill.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Your mom asks, her eyebrows furrowed in concern. She knew that her and her wife’s schedules were always so busy with travel for both the national team and their respective clubs, leaving little time for all three of you to spend quality family time together.
“I didn’t want to bother you, and I know how important re-inc is to you guys.” You sigh. Because of how often either one or both of your parents were traveling, you were a very independent teenager. Therefore, you never really wanted to disturb your mothers, as you were very proud of their accomplishments both on and off the field.
“(Y/N), will you look at me?” Christen gently lifts your chin, causing you to look directly into your mom’s green orbs. “Yes, re-inc is important to us, but you are a thousand times more important to us.” She emphasizes, as Tobin nods along in agreement, rubbing your back.
“Chris is right.” Your ma adds. “And we are so sorry that we haven’t been making enough time to spend with you.”
“It’s okay.” You give your mothers a soft smile.
“We love you, (Y/N).” Christen whispers, kissing your temple. “So much.”
Tobin wraps her arms around you, pulling you in a tight hug. “How bout this?” She starts. “I’ll try and see if I can get us into Providence later today, then we can go pick up some Gilda’s on the way home, and we can watch whatever movie you want tonight.”
Your eyes widen at your ma’s suggestion, as you nod your head excitedly. Although you were already getting call ups from the national youth team and scholarship offers from many D1 schools, you were always eager to get some touches on the field, and it didn’t hurt that two of the best forwards in the world were your parents.
“Alright then. Why don’t you get changed, while I make a call to Mark, and then we’ll walk over there.” Before Tobin could even finish, you were already rushing to your room, leaving your moms to chuckle at your enthusiasm.
—————
Upon arriving to the field, you immediately pull out a ball and start juggling. Before beginning their own warmup, Christen and Tobin stop to watch their daughter, their hearts bursting with pride for the young woman they’ve raised.
The three of you spend almost two hours at the training center. Tobin and Christen put you through a couple of drills and competitions and then all three of you play a little keep away.
“Did you just meg me?!” Tobin gasps, chasing after you.
“Don’t hurt me!” You scream, giggling, as you run away from your ma, who eventually catches up to you.
You pass the ball to Christen, before Tobin tackles you to the ground, tickling your sides.
“Stop! Stop! You win!” You pant, as you try to catch your breath, admitting defeat.
“That nutmeg wasn’t very nice, kiddo.” Tobin playfully scolds.
“You were the one who taught me that!” You tease your mother, who throws her head back with a laugh.
“Alright you two.” Christen approaches with an ear-splitting grin across her face. “Let’s go get some food.” She helps the two of you up, as you pack up the balls and head over to Gilda’s.
—————
Entering the apartment, takeout in hand, you place the food on the counter, ready to dig in.
“Ah, ah ah.” Christen grabs your wrist, stopping you from opening the container. “You go shower. We’ll dish out the food and set the table.”
“But—” You protest.
“Go! You stink.” Your mom insists, sticking her tongue out at you. Pouting, you reluctantly head to your bathroom.
Once you’ve cleansed yourself off and changed into a re-inc crewneck and a pair of bike shorts, you reenter the kitchen, smiling at the sight in front of you. Tobin was finishing setting the table, whistling along to the soft hum folklore in the background, while Christen was bringing the plates of food the counter, humming to the music. You wanted to cherish these small moments with your parents, not only because of how rare they were, but also because you would be heading off to college soon.
“Kiddo!” Tobin beams, noticing your presence. “C’mon let’s eat.”
Taking your seat at the counter, you dish out everyone’s food. A couple of bites in, you let out a moan of satisfaction.
“Ugh. This is delicious.” You shove another mouthful of pasta into your mouth.
Both of your mothers share a light-hearted chuckle. “I take it you like it, love?” Christen smirks, as you nod enthusiastically, your mouth too full of food to respond.
“So, kid, anymore offers?” Tobin casually brings up, receiving a warning glare from her wife. College had been a delicate topic the past couple of months, as you were having a difficult time choosing a school that met your needs both athletically and academically, causing you a great deal of stress.
You gulp down your food. “Ummm. Yeah. I got some calls from Duke, Portland, Cal, and Washington. And USC, Stanford, UCLA, and UNC called again, wanting me to meet the rest of the team.” You mutter, fidgeting with your hands.
Tobin bounces in her seat like an excited child, going to ask you more questions. But before she can speak, Christen shoots her another glare, effectively silencing her.
“That’s exciting, dear. You excited for the Premier League to start?” Your mother smiles, before changing the subject, knowing you didn’t particularly like talking about college. Christen herself was not particularly fond of the subject either, not ready for her baby to leave her. Although, you wouldn’t be that far, considering you’d most likely be called up to the national team pretty soon.
As dinner progresses, you and your mothers catch up, discussing recent events, soccer, and even a little gossip. Tobin eventually does coax the college conversation out of you, resulting in your moms having a mini argument over Stanford versus UNC.
As you finish up dinner and clear the table, Tobin starts making some popcorn for your movie night.
“What do you wanna watch, love? It’s your choice.” Christen asks, turning on the TV and grabbing a couple of blankets.
“Can we watch Clueless?” You give her a cheeky grin, knowing your mom didn’t particularly like the chick flick.
“Of course.” Christen sighs, playfully rolling her eyes, as she kisses your forehead.
“What’re we watching?” Tobin plops down next to, popping a piece of popcorn into her mouth.
“Clueless.” You grin, as your ma throws her head back, groaning.
“Again?”
“You did say it was my choice.” You sing.
“I guess I did say that.” Tobin grumbles, snuggling into your side, Christen doing the same, so you’re sandwiched between the two women.
“Good, because it’s starting so shh.” You stuff your mouth with a handful of popcorn.
—————
Towards the end of the movie, you find your eyes slowly drooping. You move to lay down across your moms, your head in Christen’s lap, your feet across Tobin’s.
“You tired, sweetie?” Christen runs her hand through your hair.
“A little.” You mumble.
“Yeah, you played pretty hard today, kiddo.” Tobin massages your calfs.
Turning around, you look up at your parents. “Can we do something tomorrow?” You sheepishly ask. “I mean, like it doesn’t have to be as time consuming as what we did today, but maybe a game or just like sitting down for a cup of coffee.” You elaborate.
The two older women feel their hearts melt, wanting nothing more than to spend time with their daughter.
“Of course, (Y/N/N).” Tobin squeeze your leg.
“We would love that.” Christen adds, placing a kiss to your hair.
“Awesome.” You beam and turn back to face the television.
As the credits start to roll, you stretch.
“I think I’m gonna head to bed.” You yawn.
“Alright, good night, kiddo.”
“Good night, baby.”
Getting up from the couch, you give Tobin a hug and kiss Christen’s cheek. “Thanks for today, moms. I had a great day.”
“See, it’s pretty awesome being stuck inside with your parents, eh?” Tobin smirks.
“Uh, I wouldn’t go that far.” You call back to her, biting back a smile, as you make your way to your bedroom.
Although being stuck in lockdown was extremely boring, you had to admit that you had the best moms, and yeah, it was pretty awesome.

Oblivious - (Preath with a little Alex x reader)
@postcardsforfrance hi! could you write about christen making moves on tobin for 1 year or more, but tobin being very oblivious to it and thinking cp just want to be her best friend. cp then start thinking tobin is rejecting her so she's putting some space between them. tobin notices and ask her what's happening.
so something sappy you know, with a happy ending :) thank you
Y/n's Pov
I was lying on my bed when my sister stormed into the room and flopped onto her bed groaning into her pillow. I pause the show I was watching and turn towards her, "What's the matter Chris?". I looks up from the pillow and rolls her eyes, "Tobin is so oblivious. I'm dropping hints that I like her and they go way over her head". I frown slightly knowing how long my sister has been pining after the nutmeg queen, "Are you sure your being obvious?". She rolls her eyes and glares at me, "Extremely".
Before I can reply there a knock at the door, "It's open!". A minute later my girlfriend walks through the door. "Hey" I smile at her. Which she returns with her dazzling smile, "Hey beautiful". I blush as she kisses my cheek and sits beside me. Then she sees Christen glaring at the both of us, "Woah what's up with you Pressy?". I chuckle slightly before answering, "Tobin still hasn't caught on that Chris is head over heels for her". This just earns me a glare from my sister and I sink into Alex's side. Alex laughs, "You can't say much Y/n. It took a long time for us to go out because you were so oblivious as well". My eyes widened and I turned to her, "What?! No way!". Christen and Alex share a look. "Yeah you were" they say in unison. "Oh cmon I couldn't of been that bad. We got together eventually" I say rolling my eyes. "Yeah we got together after years of flirting until I eventually full on asked you out" Alex giggles.
I pout as I turn to my sister, "Was I really that bad?". Christen nods, "You and Tobin are so blind when it comes to anything romantic". "If it makes you feel any better, it meant that I didn't have to worry when that Spanish player started flirting with you" Alex shrugs. My eyes widen, "What?! When was this? Who was it?". Alex just shakes her head before kissing my forehead gently. Christen groans once more, "Ughhh it's been over a year of dropping hints and Tobin still hasn't gotten a clue". "Maybe you should do what I did. Just bit the bullet and just say it right out" Alex says. I nod smiling remembering the day Alex confessed her feelings for me. Christen sigh, "It's the only way she's going to find out isn't it?". Alex and I both nod. "Screw it I'll do it after dinner tonight" Christen says determined. I smile at my sister. All I want is for her to be happy, but if Tobin doesn't get her shit together soon I'm going to lose it.
................
The three of us were down at dinner and we were talking about the upcoming match against the Netherlands when Tobin plopped down in the seat beside Christen, "Hey guys! What are you talking about?". I shrug, "Just the match tomorrow. Do you know who's starting?" She just shakes her head. We keep talking until Tobin shocks the table
"So Chris, do you have a crush on anyone at the moment?"
Christen immediately starts choking on her food and starts coughing violently. I pour her some more water passing it to her as Tobin rubs her back, "Woah you okay?". After christen finally stops hacking she nods taking a sip of her water, "Why do you ask?". Tobin just frowns slightly, "Well it's just I've never seen you show any interest in anyone". I can't stop myself from facepalming right in front of her while Alex just shakes her head. "Please. Pleaseeees tells me I wasn't this bad. I can't have been this bad, can I?" I whisper to my amazingly patience girlfriend. Alex just grins at me with a playful look in her eyes. I sigh and turn back to the two in front of me.
"Well yes Tobin I do have my eye on someone" Christen says. "Oh cool. Is it anyone I know?" Tobin asks but her shoulder slightly slouch. Christen thinks for a minute before continuing, "Yeah you know them. But I've been dropping hints for over a year now and they still aren't getting it". Alex and I watch with extreme focus hoping Tobin will finally realise Chris's feeling for her. " Well maybe you need to tell them straight out that you like them". Christen forgets the plate in front of her and completely turns to Tobin, "Tobin I like you". Alex and I freeze waiting for Tobin's response. She just grins at Christen, "See that's what you should do. If they don't get that, their too dumb for you". I hear Alex groan while I drop my knife and fork on my plate and put my head in my hands.
Jesus Christ Tobin
Christen scoffs, "Unbelievable". She stands up and walks out if the room back to our room I guess. Tobin watches her leave before turning back to us, "Did I say something wrong?". "Tobin I love you, but God your slow" Alex says to her. Tobin just tilts her head at us before standing as well, "I'm going to go check on Chris". "God and I thought you were bad" Alex jokes as I swat her in the arm.
Christen's Pov
God she is so oblivious, it's unbelievable. I literally told her straight out I liked her and she still doesn't have a clue! When I get back to my room I just sit on the bed with my head in my hands. How could someone be so oblivious, it must be impossible. I hear a knock at the door and go to answer it. When I open the door I see the midfielder in question, "Hey you okay? You left pretty quick just now". I sigh, "Yeah I'm fine Toby". She just frowns and looks at me concerned, "Cmon Chris, tell me maybe I can help".
And with that I can't take it anymore
I surge forward and grab the front of her jersey kissing her hard. I've waited longer enough for this to happen. Right before I'm about to pull away, I feel Tobin put her hands on my hips and pull me back into her deepening the kiss. My hands move from her jersey to the back of her neck as I play with the baby hairs on the nape of her neck. She slowly walks me backwards until I feel my legs hit the bed. She lowers me down gently as she hovers over me not breaking the kiss once. We were so lost in the kiss, we didn't hear the door open.
"Ew guys why on my bed!"
We immediately separate and turn to see Y/n standing by the door while Alex stands behind her laughing her ass off. Tobin scrambles off me while I just sit up on the bed and glare at my sister, "Nice timing Y/n". "Look I'm sorry and all that I interrupted you finally getting with Tobs but not my bed! That's gross Chris!". I look at Alex sending her a silent pleading look. She just nods and grabs Y/n's wrist before leading her out of the room. I turn back to Tobin who is handling by the desk rubbing her neck sheepishly with a bright red face.
"Well if you couldn't guess I have feelings for you Toby. I have for a while now" I confess. Tobin looks at me, "I never knew" she jokes. I walk over to her before slapping her arm, "Do you know how many hints I dropped?!" Tobin just send me her adorably goofy smile that I can't resist, "I'm sorry". I just sigh before pecking her on the lips, "God your so oblivious".
