The people of Assam and Bihar & the helpless animals of wildlife sanctuaries need our Help. Help support those affected in these extreme flood situations.

Flood fury in Assam, Bihar; Six people died on Wednesday 29th July due to the floods which have affected over 55 lakh people in the two states and the helpless animals of wildlife sanctuaries need our Help.

Assam Floods: Over 50,000 displaced people are taking shelter at relief camps. The current wave of floods affected nearly 20 lakh people in 21 districts and washed away houses, cattle stock. The ASDMA said that at present, 1,536 villages are underwater and 92,899.95 hectares of crop area has been devastated in the state.

While 107 people died in flood-related incidents, 26 were killed in landslides. The majority portion of national parks and wildlife sanctuaries are also underwater. The floods have so far claimed the lives of 142 animals of different species (including 15 one-horned rhinos), while 165 others were rescued in Kaziranga National Park.

Bihar Floods: The flood situation in Bihar has worsened after continuous heavy rain in the state for the past few days. 11 people have died due to flood-related incidents so far and over 38 lakh in the state are affected.

Help support those affected in these extreme flood situations. People can donate to the relief fund set up by the government of Assam & Bihar online or through bank transfer via cheque and demand drafts. Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and corporations that have set up fundraisers for the floods where people can donate as well.

India is already going through the crisis of coronavirus outbreak with an immense spike in Covid-19 cases. After the Bihar floods, several parts of Assam have been hit by ongoing floods during heavy rainfall.
