Making a Google Drive for prayers to the Theoi. Each deity will have a Google Doc with a bunch of prayers written along with the @ of whoever wrote it. If you have a certain prayer you want to include or you want me to make a Doc for one of the more obscure deities, please tell me! I don’t want to miss anyone. I also would like to do this for Kemetic and Norse deities, and maybe other pantheons if someone suggests it, so feel free to suggest things for those pantheons too.

Bright-helmed Ares, strong of arm and stern of visage, firm of stance, unyielding of will, ever ready to face any foe, to hold the line against all who may come, to battle until the end.

Ares, son of noble Zeus and wise Hera, cherished by golden Aphrodite,

honored by those who call on you for strength and courage,

in the north were you much honored in times of old,

in Thrace and Thesaly were you held in esteem by those whose lives were harsh, whose world was stony, whose comforts were hard-one.

Ares who answers the prayer of the despairing, I honor you.

"Oh God of Rest, Divine one who delivers us visions at nightfall, winged God Hypnos who brings us these gifts we hold so gently to our soul I call upon you in prayer. I need some help! :]

I love my deities (greek gods/goddesses) but there's an issue. I hate the idea of asking them for things. I feel like im: -asking for too much -wasting their godly/important time -being disrespectful by asking. So when I want to do prayers that ask for something (even as slight as a good night's sleep) I can't. Am I like right in my position fo not asking the gods for things or am I wrong?? helpppp THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ANSWERED, I am so much clearer on this, it really means a whole lot, like genuinly <33

Demeter, lady of the harvest and mother of all,

I move to join you in mourning as Persephone begins her descent to the Underworld.

I thank you for the food you've provided for the year and the pantry you've kept full.

I would also like to express gratitude for relief from the persistent heat.

The cold that comes with your retreat is welcome and needed.

I'm working on a piece of Hestia Bulaea, or Hestia of the Council, both as a devotional activity and to cope with anxiety about the upcoming election ;;-;;

I'm hoping to finish it in time to at least order a print of it (no printer at home rip) by Election Day so I can put it on her altar, but I'm putting it down for today so I can look at it later with fresh eyes before I get too far along. There are already one or two things I want to adjust

hello helpol Tumblr. if you have a moment, please pray to the Gods for my family and childhood home

there are currently numerous fires in my city and one is threatening our farm. it has already burned the house up there and many other homes nearby. the firefighters are stretched thin for resources so my father is aiding them on the lines. me and many others are also getting very sick from all the smoke.

i have been praying to Apollon, Artemis, Zeus, and Maa Kali but i also want to ask y'all for my own peace of mind. please pray for my father's safety and all the firefighters working their asses off, as well as all the other families who are affected by this disaster. I would be absolutely devastated if I had to leave the home ive lived in my entire life and let all of my shrines to be consumed by the fire
