Offering Prayer to Geb
Geb, God of Earth, Lord of Life. I offer you my praise. My thanks are given for sheltering us, for allowing us to walk upon you. I give my offering of [libation, sharing a treat with him, leaving berries out for wildlife, watering the flowers, treating people with kindness] in your honor. Praise be to Geb! The father of the great ones!

Hymn to Geb
To Geb, great one who is of the earth, I offer my praise First-born of Tefnut and storm-shunning Shu, beloved of Nuit of the star-strewn sky, O Geb who lies far beneath heaven’s vault, kept ever apart from your dark-cloaked love by the strength of your sire, the lord of the air: such is your solitude, such is your sorrow. O god of the field and the reedy marsh, O nourisher of life, sustainer of existence, O father of snakes, O fairest of geese, yours is the seed within the soil, yours too the first of the green spring shoots; yours is the harvest for which we hope, the life for which we pray. O Geb who grants us the gift of growth, I call to you with gratitude, I look to you in awe. Source: https://godsofsandandwater.wordpress.com/category/geb

Notes
Other names given to the goddess are Aset, Aust, Eenohebis, Eset, Esu, Hesat, Iahu, Unt, Urethekau, and Werethekau.
Her name has been debated to mean “throne” or “the seat”
There are no known references to Isis before the 5th Dynasty. Starting in obscurity, she became one of the most popular Kemetic deities, with a reach far beyond Egypt. This gave her many associations over time.
She is a psychopomp, leading the dead to the afterlife, which relates to her husband Osiris.
Often given the role or title of “mourner”, she was mentioned in the rites of the dead.
While being associated with death, she was also heavily associated with healing and magic, these two associations becoming more prominent as time went on and she gained popularity.
Isis is often conflated with fellow Kemetic goddess, Hathor, who she shares a likeness with in many ways and eventually usurped power as the most popular goddess in Egypt.
In one tale, it is said that Isis tricked Ra into revealing his true name to her, and as such gave her his magical abilities.
Seen as the ideal mother, the ideal wife, and all around ideal woman of the time, Isis gained popularity amongst high society and the common folk alike.
Her primary temples were in Behbeit el-Hagar and Philae, though she was often worshipped in many other temples, even in those not dedicated to her, but on a more minor level.
Due to her many associations, she also eventually came to be seen as the patron goddess of sea-farers.
Weaving, baking, and brewing beer are associated with her as well, as is the star Sirius and the kite falcon and the rearing cobra.
Festivals of Isis in Roman times were held on December 25, January 6, and March 5. Lychnapsia has also been suggested to be a festival dedicated to Isis.
Unlike many Kemetic deities, whose clergy were required to be of the same gender as the god, men and women both served in Isis’ temples.
In Greece her cult developed into a Mystery Religion and it held strong all throughout the Mediterranean until the 6th century CE.
Isis was said to conceal herself as an old or injured woman begging for alms.

Osiris/Ausir, God of the Duat, life and rebirth
Who is Osiris?
Osiris is the son of the Sky Goddess Nut and Earth God Geb. His siblings are Isis, who is also his wife, Seth and Nepthys. He was said to be one of the first Pharoahs of Egypt. He civilized the people and taught agriculture. He is the God of agriculture, life, death, fertility and the king of the Underworld, the Duat.
During Osiris' reign, his younger brother Seth, jealous of his power to rule, murdered him. Seth invited him to a party, and had out a bejewelled box which he promised to anybody who could fit inside of it. After many failed attempts by the others at the celebration, Osiris gave it a try. He fit perfectly inside the box, which would become his coffin. The box was shut, sealed with molten lead and then promptly thrown into the Nile River.
When the Queen, Isis, found out, she was devastated, and went to search for her husband's body. The myths vary on how she did this, but most say she became a babysitter for the Queen of Babylon's young son, as Osiris' coffin was tangled in a tree in the back of the palace. Once she acquired Osiris' body, she brought him back to life with her magic. Osiris then became king of the Duat. This is just one telling of a variety of re-tellings.
When the Pharoah died, he was associated with Osiris, and the heir to the throne was associated with Osiris' son, Horus.
His festivals include the Osiris mysteries, and the raising of the pillar ceremony.

Aker
A god of the Earth and the horizon
Connection to other gods:Geb, Sutekh/ Setesh/ Set
Domain:Sun, Underworld
Description
Aker was first depicted as the torso of a recumbent lion with a widely opened mouth. Later, he was depicted as two recumbent lion torsos merged with each other and still looking away from each other.
From Middle Kingdom onwards Aker appears as a pair of twin lions, one named Duaj(meaning "yesterday") and the other Sefer(meaning "tomorrow"). Aker was thus often titled "He who's looking forward and behind". When depicted as a lion pair, a hieroglyphicsign for "horizon" (two merged mountains) and a sun disc was put between the lions; the lions were sitting back-on-back.
In later times, Aker can also appear as two merged torsos of recumbent sphinxes with human heads.
Roles
One of the earth gods guarding the "gate to the yonder site". A protector of the deceased Kind against snakes in the underworld. replaces the god Kherty, becoming ferryman of Ra in his nocturnal bark. In the Book of the Dead, Aker also "gives birth" to the god Khepri. Aker is asked to hide the body of the dead Wesir/Osiris beneath his womb, Aker is protected by the god Geb.
Cult
Aker appears for the first time during the 1st Dynasty with the kings (pharaohs) Hor Ahaand Djer. An unfinished decorative palette from the tomb of Djer at Abydos shows Aker devouring three hearts. The location of Aker's main cult center is unknown, though. His mythological role was fully described for the first time in the famous Pyramid Texts of king Teti.
Mythology
Aker was first described as one of the earth gods guarding the "gate to the yonder site". He protected the deceased king against the three demonic snakes Hemtet, Iqeru and Jagw. By "encircling" (i.e. interring) the deceased king, Aker sealed the deceased away from the poisonous breath of the snake demons. Another earth deity, who joined and promoted Aker's work, was Geb. Thus, Aker was connected with Geb. In other spells and prayers, Aker is connected with Seth and even determined with the Set animal. This is interesting, because Seth is described as a wind deity, not as an earth deity.
In the famous Coffin Texts of Middle Kingdom period, Aker replaces the god Kherty, becoming now the "ferryman of Ra in his nocturnal bark". Aker protects the sun god during his nocturnal travelling through the underworld caverns. In the famous Book of the Dead, Aker also "gives birth" to the god Khepri, the young, rising sun in the shape of a scarab beetle, after Aker has carried Khepri's sarcophagus safely through the underworld caverns. In other underworld scenes, Aker carries the nocturnal bark of Ra. During his journey, in which Aker is asked to hide the body of the dead Osiris beneath his womb, Aker is protected by the god Geb.
In several inscriptions, wall paintings and reliefs, Aker was connected to the horizon of the North and the West, forming a mythological bridge between the two horizons with his body. Certain sarcophagus texts from the tombs of Ramesses IV, Djedkhonsuiusankh and Pediamenopetdescribe how the sun god Ra travels through the underworld "like Apophis going through the belly of Aker after Apophis was cut by Seth". In this case, Aker seems to be some kind of representation of the underworld itself.

I’VE GOT AN EMOTIONAL SUPPORT INPU NOW GUYS!! :)
I also have a pretty cool statue and a coloring book from that friend. It has some interesting depictions, including Geb with a goose head?
I’ve been getting a lot of Inpu stuff for this Christmas and I had my lock screen already changed to Inpu (and an Inpu phone case!!). I know it’s simply explained as Inpu being arguably the most popular of the Netjeru and being what you’d probably first think of when talking about Ancient Egypt or whatever, but either way I think I should say hi. :)
Might do me some good, as I haven’t been doing very well mentally and I’ve been trying to work on opening up more to the Netjeru and people.
Prayer and stuff would do a lot for me if I went back into it- though, it was pretty hard to just talk about a singular serious issue in my diary.
Dua Inpu! Dua Netjeru!

The People Dwelling in Jerusalem
1 Now the leaders of the people dwelt at Jerusalem; the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, the holy city, and nine-tenths were to dwell in other cities. 2 And the people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem.
3 These are the heads of the province who dwelt in Jerusalem. (But in the cities of Judah everyone dwelt in his own possession in their cities—Israelites, priests, Levites, Nethinim, and descendants of Solomon’s servants.) 4 Also in Jerusalem dwelt some of the children of Judah and of the children of Benjamin.
The children of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez; 5 and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Shiloni. 6 All the sons of Perez who dwelt at Jerusalem were four hundred and sixty-eight valiant men.
7 And these are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah; 8 and after him Gabbai and Sallai, nine hundred and twenty-eight. 9 Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer, and Judah the son of Senuah was second over the city.
10 Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, and Jachin; 11 Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, was the leader of the house of God. 12 Their brethren who did the work of the house were eight hundred and twenty-two; and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, 13 and his brethren, heads of the fathers’ houses, were two hundred and forty-two; and Amashai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer, 14 and their brethren, mighty men of valor, were one hundred and twenty-eight. Their overseer was Zabdiel the son of one of the great men.
15 Also of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni; 16 Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the heads of the Levites, had the oversight of the business outside of the house of God; 17 Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, the leader who began the thanksgiving with prayer; Bakbukiah, the second among his brethren; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun. 18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred and eighty-four.
19 Moreover the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren who kept the gates, were one hundred and seventy-two.
20 And the rest of Israel, of the priests and Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, everyone in his inheritance. 21 But the Nethinim dwelt in Ophel. And Ziha and Gishpa were over the Nethinim.
22 Also the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha, of the sons of Asaph, the singers in charge of the service of the house of God. 23 For it was the king’s command concerning them that a certain portion should be for the singers, a quota day by day. 24 Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was the king’s deputy in all matters concerning the people.
The People Dwelling Outside Jerusalem
25 And as for the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt in Kirjath Arba and its villages, Dibon and its villages, Jekabzeel and its villages; 26 in Jeshua, Moladah, Beth Pelet, 27 Hazar Shual, and Beersheba and its villages; 28 in Ziklag and Meconah and its villages; 29 in En Rimmon, Zorah, Jarmuth, 30 Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages; in Lachish and its fields; in Azekah and its villages. They dwelt from Beersheba to the Valley of Hinnom.
31 Also the children of Benjamin from Geba dwelt in Michmash, Aija, and Bethel, and their villages; 32 in Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah; 33 in Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim; 34 in Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat; 35 in Lod, Ono, and the Valley of Craftsmen. 36 Some of the Judean divisions of Levites were in Benjamin. — Nehemiah 11 | New King James Version (NKJV) The Holy Bible; New King James Version®. Offering to Geb
05/22/2024
The great sun god had ripped you away from your sister-wife, placing your father between the both of you. He refused to let Nuit bear your children, the future of the Ennead. And, so, you pleaded with Thoth, begging him for a solution.
The wisest of the gods, the creator of time, gambled with the moon. With this, he was able to grant you five extra days of light, thus the Great Ennead was truly born.
You are the father of the Almighty Ennead, of the Strongest of the Gods. The others bow down to your might. The creator bows down for your mercy. You are the father of fathers, letting your children walk your land. Swallowing those who dare challenge your might. You are the heir of the gods, lord of the seat of every place his ka desires. Bow in fear, bow in awe, to Geb!

short prayer to Geb
(this prayer is meant to be used in worship right before beginning to sing for the God, or after.)
Your efforts go noticed, master of life. What a beautiful home you have given us. What a wonderful place to be, desert or forest, cold or hot. Forever I will be grateful for the gifts you provide. My voice may be weak, yet for you I sing strong.
