Reading about how intersex athletes have been treated is so fucking horrible. The countless lies and human rights violations. The discrimination and how it's ruined the lives of so many people is so awful. There has been no apologies from any athletics comptetions or organizations. They have blood on their hands. Just a tw for intersexism and mental health issues and suicide in the next paragraph because it can get pretty heavy.
Annet Negesa, who was a middle distance runner. She was suddenly barred from competing due to her hormones. No one told her why. She was then told she needed to take medication to lower her testosterone, then what she was told was switched. She was lied to about a surgery that she was told was like an injection and would let her compete again. She woke up with scars and had had a gonadectomy. That violation of basic human rights and medical ethics combined with inadequate postsurgical care basically ended her career. She deserves justice. She deserves apologies from the Olympics and everyone single doctor who was involved in it, and compensation and the promise that it should never have happened and will never happen again. She. Needs. Justice.
Pratima Gaonkar needs justice. She was a rising track and field star. After forced sex verificatiom she killed herself. The way media and news treated her after her death was disgusting. She deserves and needs justice. Her family deserves justice.
Santhi Soundarajan had her medals stripped and was treated as an outcast after forced sex verification showed she had androgen insensitivity syndrome. She was treated as an outcast, her gender was mocked. She's spoken out about how much discrimination she's faced, and how badly she's been treated. She now works as a coach, but was barred from competing. She deserves justice.
Caster Semenya deserves justice. Francine Niyonsaba deserves justice. Margaret Wambui deserves justice. Barbra Banda deserves justice. Beatrice Masilingi and Christine Mboma deserve justice.
The racism and intersexism and horrible human rights violations and medical abuse these women have faced for the supposed crime of being intersex and good at a sport is horrible. They deserve justice, but the organizations that perpetuate these atrocities don't seem to care. It's so fucking horrible.

DAY 6024
Jalsa, Mumbai Aug 15, 2024 Thu 9:07 pm
Birthday - EF -Pratima Kshtriya Friday, 16 August .. and we send our wishes to her for the very best ..🙏🌺
A quiet day .. spent at working on the body .. and with family .. that odd off day when there is need to catch up with all pending work ..
The last few days have been far too busy at the Studio to be able to send a comprehensive Blog .. but the coming days shall hopefully be a little more levelled out for the time to be spent on the connect ..
The inspiration for us all in the business has ever been the audience, and their love and affection , or their remarks that ask for greater attention ..
Yes an effort is always made to be an able respondent to them , and that shall continue ..
You make us .. what we make for you ..
My love 😍
.. and music be the greatest joy ..

Vedic ritualism in its entirety, like ‘sacrifice’ as a category within the study of religion, is thus based on and made possible by substitution. The Vedic ritualists assume that it is not possible to have direct contact with the supernatural forces (the gods of sun or rain) that are the transcendent prototypes and, therefore, the ritual must use immanent counterparts or symbols (fire or the Soma juice) for the ‘real thing’. So it was critical for the ritualists to know the answer to the question posed succinctly in the Rig Veda: ‘What was the transcendent prototype (prama), what was the immanent counterpart (pratima), and what was the connection (nidana) between them?’ 21
At the most general level, the sacrificial ritual as a whole is a counterpart of the transcendent Cosmic One, Prajapati (the creator god) or Purusha, vi who has created the ritual as a pratima or counterpart or image of himself. Thus the texts repeatedly tell us that ‘the sacrifice is Prajapati’, 22 or that ‘Prajapati is the sacrifice’, or that he emits the sacrifice from himself, or ‘makes his atman (soul)’ the sacrifice, or is the atman of the sacrifice. 23 The sacrifice and Prajapati are counterforms of each other, and the creator god is no different from the cosmic whole. So it is that ‘this all’, which is Prajapati, corresponds to (or results from) the sacrifice itself. 24 Furthermore, because both the sacrifice and the year are counterparts of the same prototypical Prajapati, they are themselves linked on a common chain of resembling surrogates: the sacrifice has ‘the same measure’ (sammita) as the year. 25
The components of the sacrifice are said to be resembling forms of cosmic prototypes (each element of the ritual being vertically connected to transcendent correlatives), and the sacrifice as a whole is the counterpart to the prototype that is Prajapati, the universe: ‘Two levels, but one being,’ as Paul Mus has put it. 26 The sacrifice operates with ‘images’ (such as the twelve days of a certain sacrifice) while Prajapati’s body or self comprises the ‘originals’ (the twelve months of the year), but both participate in the same ontological essence. Counterparts are only in this sense to be regarded as ‘substitutes’. They ‘stand for’ or ‘represent’ their originals in that they are more or less incomplete images or emanations of them. A series of resembling forms, from the prototype to its least complete manifestation, comprise the elements within a set. The pratima of Prajapati is the year, the cosmic whole on the temporal plane; and the counterpart of the year is the sacrifice of twelve days’ duration because ‘the year has twelve months, and this is the pratima of the year’. 27 A sacrifice lasting a whole year would of course be more fully the form of Prajapati conceived of temporally, but one of twelve days can also serve the purpose, albeit less completely.
The doctrine of counterparts makes possible both ritual efficacy— the manipulation of ritual counterparts in order to influence cosmic prototypes— and ritual efficiency: ‘The gods said, ‘Find the sacrifice that will be the counterpart for one of a thousand years, for what man is there who could get through with a sacrifice lasting a thousand years?’ 28 Human beings can participate in rituals of cosmic dimensions by means of resembling sacrifices gauged to the human condition— again, not with the completeness of the original but with the efficacy and efficiency of the counterpart. Sacrifice itself, then, is in Vedic philosophy a substitute for a cosmic operation that always lies outside the grasp of human practitioners. From this point of view no less than from the point of view of the modern theorists, sacrifice is always a substitute for an unattainable (or even undesirable) ideal.
-Wendy Doniger, On Hinduism
maybe i just dont get transubstantiation but i think vedic sacrifice-substitution makes transubstantiation seem really stupid. like. you can have "this is my body and my blood" without saying the bread and wine *change into* the body and blood of jesus. like. it can be a transcendent symbol, a part of a series of fundamental affinities. like a pantograph!

And it ended. All those lights, songs, aarti, pushpanjali, pandal hopping, new clothes, new kind of lifestyle, everything again came to an end. Again a wait for another 365 days. These days pass by so fast. Even before we acknowledge everything, her husband calls her back.
Anyways, let's not start crying just now.
Shubho Dashami everyone.

Story of Krishna Prema!
Krishna Prema is the rarest jewel. It has been beautifully defined by Srila Rupa Goswami as follows
samyaṅ masṛṇita-svānto mamatvātiśayāṅkitaḥ
bhāvaḥ sa eva sāndrātmā budhaiḥ premā nigadyate
When Bhava (transcendental emotions) becomes extremely condensed, it is called Prema by the learned. It softens the heart completely and produces extreme possessiveness for Krishna in the devotee.- Bhakti Rasamrta Sindhu 1.4.1
When there is the manifestation of pure love, the devotee thinks, ‘’Krishna belongs to me and I belong to Krishna. Krishna is my very own.’’ This is the feeling of the devotee. The only desire of the pure devotee is to selflessly serve and please the transcendental senses of Krishna, who is the eternal master of all our senses. Depending on his or her perfection of Bhava, a devotee may think of Krishna as one’s master, friend, son, or even a conjugal lover. The degree of possessiveness, intimacy, and intensity of love increases from the stage of considering Krishna to be my master to that of considering Krishna to be my conjugal lover.
In Goloka Vrindavana, no one considers Krishna as the God. The love of the Vrajavasis is so pure and intimate that any conception of Godhood or Krishna's divinity will slacken the sweetness of loving exchanges. Thus, by the arrangement of the yoga maya (divine illusion), the intimate mood of sweetness conceals the mood of awe and reverence for God.
For a pure devotee situated on the platform of Krishna Prema, the only definition of death is not being able to see her beloved Krishna.
prāna-pratima-rūpena darśanādarśanena ca
jīvanaṃ maraṇam syād yat tat premeti nigadyate
‘If I cannot see my Lord, who is more dear to me than my own life, then this life is actually death.' Such an intense feeling is known as Prema- Hari Bhakti Ratna Prakasha 6.44
The only cause of the devotee’s suffering is separation from Krishna and the only cause of the devotee’s bliss is meeting with Krishna. When such a pure devotee experiences the feeling of separation from Krishna, he considers the whole world void or shunya.
yugāyitaṁ nimeṣeṇa cakṣuṣā prāvṛṣāyitam śūnyāyitaṁ jagat sarvaṁ govinda-viraheṇa me
My Lord Govinda, because of separation from You, I consider even a moment a great millennium. Tears flow from My eyes like torrents of rain, and I see the entire world as void.-Shikshastakam, Caitanya Caritamrta, Antya Lila 20.39
When a pure devotee experiences feelings of separation from Krishna, wherever he glances, he sees nothing but Krishna. If he sees a dark rain cloud, he remembers the dark complexion face of Krishna. If he sees a peacock, he remembers Krishna. If he sees the flute, he remembers the flute player Krishna. If he sees a water body, he thinks it is Yamuna, and so on.
sthāvara-jaṅgama dekhe, nā dekhe tāra mūrti sarvatra haya nija iṣṭa-deva-sphūrti
A pure devotee while seeing everything as mobile and immobile, does not exactly see their external forms but rather everywhere he immediately sees the form of Krishna.- Caitanya Caritamrta, Madhya Lila 8.274
Internal symptoms of a pure devotee
The primary way to detect one’s real Bhava is by analysing the internal symptoms of a pure devotee, which are nine in number.
1. Avyartha-kalatvam: Utilization of time. Constant engagement in devotional service, twenty-four hours a day.
2. Ksanti: Perseverance. To remain tolerant and patient, even amid great disturbance.
3. Virakti: Detachment. Complete indifference to objects of sense gratification.
4. Mana-sunyata: Pridelessness. One feels humble, even though he is extremely elevated.
5. Asa-bandha: Hope against hope. Firm faith that Krsna will deliver one to the highest perfection, even though one feels low and utterly unqualified to achieve it on his own.
6. Samutkantha: Intense eagerness for achieving pure loving service.
7. Nama-gane sada ruci: Constant attraction to chanting Hare Krsna.
8. Asaktis tad-gunakhyane: Addiction to glorifying Krsna's qualities.
9. Pritis tad-vasati sthale: Love for living in the Lord's Dhama (Sri Vrindavana)
External symptoms of a pure devotee
Apart from internal symptoms, there are also external or visible symptoms observed in the pure devotee, which are primarily eight in number. They are as follows
stambha: paralysis (being stunned)
sveda: perspiration
romāñca: horripilation (hairs standing on end)
svara-bheda: faltering of the voice (choking)
vepathu or kampa: shivering (trembling of the body)
vaivarṇya: pallor (change in bodily color)
aśru: tears
pralaya: devastation, or unconsciousness.
One should note that the internal symptoms of pure devotion are genuine indicators of one’s real bhava for Krishna. External symptoms could be misleading, for there could be many pseudo-devotees pretending to show off their so-called love in public by exhibiting external symptoms such as tears. On the other hand, there would be many genuine pure devotees, who may not display any such external symptoms in public.
