I just started reading your fic last night (I've seen your art in the tags for a while and absolutely love it) and rest assured you'll be getting kudos and likely a very long comment when I catch up (I don't often use AO3's chapter by chapter mode). I'm only maybe four or five chapters in and I'm already in love with your characterizations. The Volturi came to mean a lot to me in such a short amount of time (Caius and Athenodora in particular; I'm highly protective of them) and it's so gratifying to see other people and other authors try to expand upon their vague pasts and limited personalities. And Myrtis is already such a compelling character, coming from someone who also writes a lot of OCxCanon. Those three in particular I feel the need to keep in my pockets.

I've spent a lot of time lurking in the Volturi fandom before writing that fic, so I totally agree that it's always exciting to see other people's interpretation of the characters! And there’s definitely something about Caius and Athenodora that shook me down for all my lunch money, metaphorically speaking.

I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.

Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.
