Angel has a crush on the Prototype and they have their brother + sister-in-law + Poppy to back them up. The Prototype has a crush on Angel and all he has is Ollie side eyeing him for the third time in 10 minutes.

I was talking about this earlier today in a Discord server, but the idea of Angel and the Prototype adopting a human kid popped in my mind some hours ago and it's so so so so cute. Not going to happen in the AU (too many babies already, and I feel like that storyline would feel too much like "look at how the Couple is now having a Normal family instead of their Weird one(tm)", even if it's not the intention), but it's just so CUTE.

Like. Angel organizes the survivor reunion of all the Playcare kids + the few workers that weren't present during the Hour of Joy in the farmhouse. Everyone, including all the rescued toys, is having fun. The Prototype is mostly distant and covered head to toe in clothes Dogday sew for him in order to not scare the younger kids (because some of the people in there had children and brought them to the event). Angel is talking with someone who was a Playcare orphan - they're an adult now, and is now a foster parent to a little kid, I have. Everything is going as normal until they notice the little kid is nowhere to be found. Angel goes to search for them, and finds this BABY hiding behind one of the Prototype's legs. Proto is Panicking, of course, because there's a BABY in there and the baby refuses to let him go.

After some time, the little one eventually lets go of the Prototype, but is just hanging there next to him. The kid is obviously very anxious and shy, but they're feeling safer there. Marie and Bobby play with the kid for a bit, and when the event is over the baby has trouble saying goodbye to their new friends, but esp Proto because he made them feel safer.

Angel and the foster parent keep on contact, and the guy comes back to the farm with the baby, who immediately asks to see the "big guy". Proto is (gently) forced to leave his hut by Catnap so he can say hi. The kid becomes less anxious around the farm thanks to all the toys + Angel and Proto, and something something this eventually culminates in both Angel and Proto getting attached to this baby that Angel says that they should adopt the kid. And Proto agrees, because by this point he doesn't want to let go of the baby.

After the adoption process, the baby(tm) is added to the family. Needless to say that they're being pampered by everyone because now ALL THE TOYS got an older sibling promotion, even Bunzo himself! And despite how the kid is still anxious, they're helping them come out of their shell bit by bit. Kickin adores his new sibling but isn't allowed to be alone with them without responsible supervision (which does NOT include Poppy. She lets her baby sib do anything because she doesn't have the heart to tell them no).

Proto is very happy to be a parent of 88 kids now, but he's so afraid of hurting the Baby. He's very big! He's a GIANT! What if he hurts the little one???? But at the same time, the kid is so attached to him, they follow him EVERYWHERE. He only uses his human hands to handle them (his metallic ones are "too sharp"), and when the baby ends up sleeping on top of him he's forced to just lay there and accept his fate.

Angel absolutely pampers the kid. Everyone does, but Angel likes grabbing them and spinning them around while tickling them. Does their hair in fun styles, accepts getting a "makeover" from the kid even though they'll end up looking like a clown, etc etc. The baby frequently sleeps on their bed because they're afraid of being alone.

Proto learns to cook so he can feed the baby all three meals they need. Angel normally cooks without worries but Proto wants the experience as well. He teaches them some engineering, just like he taught Poppy and is teaching Ollie. Just. Fluff.

Catnap/Dogday. AWFUL. They could kill someone with how sugary they are. Pet names, physical contact, always doing things together, etc. Insufferable

Bobby Bearhug/Hoppy Hopscotch. Bobby loves showering Hoppy in love and gifts and silly nicknames, and Hoppy tries her best to also be as sweet as her but sometimes she just cant keep up

Mommy Long Legs/Miss Delight. Their way of showing affection is more discreet, with Long Legs frequently using Delight as a pillow and vice-versa, and them frequently holding hands. They also have cute nicknames for each other! Lovey-dovey, yes, but not like the first two.

KickinChicken/Bubba Bubbaphant. Neither are much into being lovey-dovey. Max amount of affection the others see is Kickin giving Bubba a kiss before leaving the house or starting a stream for good luck. They of course cuddle and Kickin likes using Bubba as his own personal pillow, but it's not something others often see.

Angel/Prototype. Only way to guess these two are married is by the fact that they refer to each other as partner and Angel sometimes holds one of Prototype's hands to squeeze it. Sure, Angel does kiss his forehead often, but they do that with everyone around the house. Proto is not exclusive.

i think having poppy worldwide's angel in that one space riders au is so funny actually, bc to me they totally had a whole DIVORCE with the prototype before fleeing the cult. if it was an animated series (and tbh we all agree that au would be perfect as an animated series, right? the vibes and writing are just right!) worldwide angel would be the mentor figure who's revealed to have had a connection with the big bad during a dramatic moment, and then after explaining stuff to the main group things make more sense. and then the next episode worldwide angel and the prototype are in the same room they have a whole ass "divorced couple having an argument" fight /hj

Angel loves three things, regarding food: Hamburguers, sandwiches, and soups. Esp soups. They love making them and eating them, it's comfort food.

The Prototype is still relearning how food in general tastes like, but he has a foundness for overly decorated cakes and donuts. This is from way back when he was still just Elliot, and Poppy got her foundness for cakes thanks to him. If you dont count desserts, he really likes the soups Angel makes as well. It makes him feel safe.

Angel loves hiking and bird watching! They liked gardening/taking care of plants as well, but with the farm this has grown to be more than just a hobby. The Prototype loves reading and making small inventions. It puts his mind at ease and is an excellent way to pass the time. However!

Since the Prototype doesn't like going out in public all that much, he and Angel resort to less conventional dates. They go hiking together a lot, and thanks to there being a lake relativity close to the farm, they sometimes also go fishing there. Bird watching is also another fun activity for them and they both love it. Also, don't tell anyone, but a small park nearby is almost always empty after 6 or 7pm, so sometimes they go there for dates. Not that these two ever call these encounters "dates"!

I like to imagine that it there was a way for the Prototype to separate his human part to the rest of his body, that he would like going to fancy/expensive restaurants with Angel. Something he did by himself back in the day, but now he can enjoy it with someone else. He still orders the same things he always did...

It's SO funny to me how Angel x Prototype changes between my AUs, because like. Normal Angel saves everyone route (aka Poppy Worldwide) route? Enemies to platonic lovers 200k words slowburn. They're both messy, shy and very very casual about what they have. They love each other and they love their family, and they annoy each other SO MUCH (affectionate) but they're best friends and this is the best thing they could ever ask for after so much trauma.

Prototype's escape attempt with Theo is successful and he pretends to be a normal average human man AU? They get together after three months of knowing each other and if Angel doesn't get their daily dose of bothering their totally normal best friend they'll throw a tantrum fit. They like holding hands. Everyone thinks they're dating the way non aroaces date each other. Proto is clingy and touch starved and he WANTS and DEMANDS affection. He likes kissing and being corny and Angel accepts his affection wholeheartedly. You can really tell they don't have more than a decade of trauma on their backs.
