Hello! And welcome to my brand new whump gifmaking challenge! I'm your host @aceofwhump and I'm excited to bring a whump challenge specifically created with gifmakers and visual artists in mind.

The challenge begins August 1, 2024!

Rules:

All gifs posted must be made by you. Do not just post gifs using the gif keyboard and claim them as yours and do not repost other people’s gifs. No AI-generated content please.

Various mediums are welcome! So long as the visual art aspect is the focus you can make whatever you want. Yes this is primarily a gifmaking challenge so everything is geared towards that but any visual art is welcome. If you draw, make moodboards, edits, videos, etc you’re welcome to participate!

You can use the prompts however you like. There is no wrong way to use a prompt. Feel free to interpret them however you wish. If you think it counts as whump? It's whump! Make it! Angst, comfort, emotional whump, small things, big things, it all counts so no need to over think it.

The laugh track and I will never be friends. We simply don't have the same type of humour. Often the laughter comes too soon before the joke could fully develop. Sometimes in the funniest moments there's dead silence. And other times it plays in moments that aren't that funny, making the other well written jokes appear cheap and ridiculous. This thing makes me question my entire perception of the episodes because we're seldom laughing together.

The Father I Never Had

rise!leo x reader (romantic)

“Thank you so much for coming, babe.”

It was a special day for Leo today. He had been very excited about this day, but also quite nervous. You and Leo had been dating for about a year now, and it was a good relationship. He loved you more than anything, you were his entire world. He told everyone about you. Especially his favorite restaurant manager and bone man, Señor Hueso.

Hueso was the father that Splinter never was. Sure, Leo loved Splinter and he was pretty sure Splinter loved him, but Hueso was there for him a lot more. He could tell him anything. And he did.

Hueso was very excited to learn that Leo was dating you. Hueso had been bugging him for a while now about if he was going to get a partner or not, so when Leo did, Hueso begged to meet you one day. But unknown to you, today was that day.

“Of course, Leo. What’s up? You told me to dress somewhat nice, so there’s gotta be something.”

“Listen, don’t stress about this but…I wanted you to meet my dad. My other…other one. We’ve been together for a little bit, and I figured you should get to know him a little, seeing as he’s so important to me.”

“Other than Splinter and Draxum?”

“Yeah…he runs the pizza place me and my brothers always go to. And the one where we went on our first date.”

“Woah, you know him? Oh…I hope he’ll like me.”

“Oh, come on, you’re perfect y/n! Everyone loves you. Especially me.”

“You sweet talker, you.”

It was a bit scary for the both of you. There was always the fear of disapproval, but you just put it in the back of your mind for now. Leo held out his hand to you, smiling, while his other hand was already creating the portal to Hueso’s. You took his hand, letting him lead you through. You popped out on the other side right in front of Hueso’s.

“Wait, isn’t he, like, working?”

“Oh, he’s been dying to meet you. I’m sure he can spare some time.”

“He wants to meet me?! Now the pressure’s really on…”

“Hey, don’t sweat it! He’ll love you, I’m sure of it.”

By now you were almost to the back of the restaurant. Leo was calling out to Hueso and looking around, before a seemingly annoyed Hueso appeared out a door somewhere. You had only seen him once before, so to see him up close was really a bit of a shock.

“Hueso! My favorite restaurant manager! How’ve you been?”

“Very peaceful without you here, amigo.”

“Aw, come on, you know you miss me. I liven up the place, make it a little more fun.”

“I may miss you, but I do not miss the chaos you cause. Now, who is this you’ve brought with you?”

“Oh, right. So, I know you’ve been bugging me to meet my partner ever since I met them…well, this is y/n.” Hueso was taken slightly aback. He was not prepared for this moment at all, and started fumbling around. He excused himself for a minute, and began hurriedly running around the back of the restaurant, trying to take care of a few things. You look concerned, but Leo just smiled and laughed. After quickly making preparations and ensuring that everything would be okay while he was gone, he rejoined you and Leo and asked you to follow him. Hueso led you through a door in the back, into a more quiet part of the restaurant. He sat at a table, inviting you two to sit with him.

“y/n, this is Señor Hueso. Hueso, this is y/n. You guys haven’t met before, right?”

“I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure.”

“No, I don’t think so.”

“Well then, allow me to do the honors. y/n here is my lovely and amazing partner, who I would do anything in the world for. We’ve been dating for about a year now. I couldn’t be more grateful for them. They take wonderful care of me, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world.” He praised you to no end, which only made you more and more shy and bashful. Hueso seemed pleased, he could tell that Leo truly loved and cared for you. “And we can’t forget Tio Hueso. Hueso…he’s always been there for me. After the Kraang invasion, he checked up on me all the time. He’d send me and my brothers dinner if we couldn’t make it for ourselves.”

“Aw, that’s so sweet of you, Hueso.” Hueso smiled.

“On late nights, I’d often go out on my own, and a lot of the time I’d end up here in this restaurant, just talking to him. He’s always listened to me…he’s always accepted me, no matter how I changed.”

“It sounds like you really love him.”

“I do. I couldn’t be more thankful for everything he’s done for me.”

Leo sat in silence for a minute. Leo was smiling at Hueso, almost as if he was recalling everything he had done for him.

“Well, it sounds like Leo loves you quite a bit.”

“I could say the same to you.”

“Oh, sorry you two, I was just…thinking.”

“About what?”

“That’s not important. Come on guys, it’s too quiet in here! Start talking, it’s not like there’s nothing to talk about.”

You awkwardly started the conversation again. But soon enough, the three of you were talking the night away, taking turns talking about life stories, some more embarrassing than others. Surprisingly, Leo was the quietest. But he just wanted to sit there and take in how cool it was that two of his favorite people in the world were right in front of him, having a good time.

(Ooc ppst: Life update/Where I've been

Hello everyone! Sorry for disappearing on you guys like that. Unfortunately we are still on an unofficial hiatus but I feel I owe you all an explanation of what's been going on in my life so *takes a deep breath*

Last semester was really really rough for me school wise--with the covid pandemic hitting its peak and lockdown starting it wasn't necessarily the best thing for my mental health. I didn't realize this at first--the change of environment from regular school time was great! How wrong was I...

I dont wanna delve too deep into it because I don't like talking about my personal life on my blogs-- but I have a very bad home life and I haven't really been in a good frame of mind since?

Currently I'm working on myself and getting better from the stress last semester caused. Things have calmed down for me recently but I get tired 10x faster, a lot of activities I like have been draining me a lot more and it's hard for me to get up and do things I need to do. And yes-- I recognize I need to see a professional about this but that's not going to happen anytime soon-- I was supposed to see someone back in December but it hasn't even been scheduled yet so *shrug*.

Another thing is that I might be changing skaz's story up a bit-- (dw, for u Yuni viewers I'm simply have something in the works!) I've come to the realization that one of the topics handled in their story might be a trigger for me, an evidently may be making me feel worse, but I'm still trying to figure it out and see if it could be one.

RALLY long ppst this time guys sorry guys

K fine I'll admit my main beef with the concept of Allan x Roy. It's the idea that Roy only likes Allan bc hes lonely and desperate, and it's the idea that Allan would actually like him back.. I know the TRUTH and the TRUTH is that Allan has HOES backing up the STREET. Every body is down to clown with that john travolta sonovabitch... u dont belief me but you're not comprehending the sheer NUMBERS that Allan associates with. He gets around! He's like muscle man. He always knows a guy! Hes a social butterfly. Also not only is he a hotshot but he is a LOVABLE person and should be NOBODY'S last pick and deserves someone BETTER than Roy... someone who will appreciate him MORE....

Meanwhile Roy thinks that hes the main character and he goes on this self-discovery journey that ends with "u kno maybe I need to stop bottling up my feelings.. maybe I need to take some days off from work.. maybe I DO deserve nice things!" and he finally asks Allan out on a date and Allan says "k but I gotta check with my datemates first idk if they'd mind me taking on one more..."

jus kidding We All Know that Allan is sort of IFFY on the idea of dating right now bc of his weird falling out with his friend Lisa... it kind of seemed like they were gonna date but smth seemed wrong and Allan had these trepidations which he could not figure out...he really really wanted to keep being friends but Lisa felt sort of hurt and that he didnt like her so she stopped participating in the relationship and they had a falling out... really she jus loved him romantically but he didnt love her the same way back... she loved him a lot as a friend too but rn she just needs to heal bc she feels like shes lost smth... and we're gonna respect that...my hope is that they'll reignite their friendship in the future and be more ready for each other then ..

But as long as were talking about the present UHHH Allan has theoretically got his pick of the hoes but the one whom he wants the most is unobtainable... (puts chin in hand and elbow on windowsill wistfully)

ideologues operate in one of two ways,  they elevate those who operate within an ideoligical framework or they degrade those who don't operate within a framework.  generally ideologues are of the latter quality.  Those who elevate those who operate within a framework, tend to be good leaders.

an ideoligue is someone who feels their belief system entitles them to dominance.  Sometimes it is as subtle as critisizing those of differing bekirg systems.  When it truly shows itself though is in inequity.  When people rationalize their own behavior anf critisize others for doing similar things.  unequal and unjust.

Post truthism is a part of every ideology..  In a post truth world feelings are presented as facts..  For example some people are born men and wanna be women..  They often expect that people ignore the reality and fact they were born a man.  often the beliefs of ppst truthers reflect their fear rather than the facts. post truthists buy into a narcasistic fantasy about their place in the world.  The feelings based beliefs do not stand up to even the most basic critisism making it clear that ideas are adopted eithout any critical thinking.

ideologues have one focus, to preserve protect and advance the dominance of people who share their ideology and identity.

ideologues run a script and they sre not able to calculate risk and reward when it comes to ideology.

The non player character meme makes fun of ideologues who run poorly calculated ideologucal scripts.

John wilks booth was an ideologue who believed that God wanted him to kill Lincoln to maintain slavery.

post truthers are the domineering, narcaisitic sociopathic ideologues of the culture.  Their post truth approach reflects a desire to preserve amd advance a groups mythology.

zealot zealous 

an ideologue always has to relate things back to their ideology regardless of how misplaced or insensitive.

ideologues are attracted to absolutes and will react aggressively and disruptively wheb people mention weaknesses in their arguments or nuance to their situation.

ideoligues are sure they have the right belief system, ideals, values and myths that make them the good guys and their adversaries bad.  they think that people should share all these qualities and with the same zealousness.  

ideologues hold a set of beliefs values and related mythology as of absolute importance and entitled that everyone should feel the same way.  they think they are good people for having their beliefs and that those with differing beliefs are not only weaker but at the same time dangerous.

Socual justice warriors are just the ideologues they fear.  they are exactly like their racist and sexist enemies as they abuse and marginalize people based on race anf gender and more importantly they expect things to be viewed within their framework and marginaloze people who do not share theor beliefs.  those who do not share theor very limited and agenda driven understanding of thr issue sre considered threatening like a vhristain who fears an atheist.  

ideologues are tge cornerstone of culture. 

Some people are so domineering that they need a concept like god to make themselves right sized for even a moment.

when facts conflict with a personal an ideologues personal mythology they disconnect from reality using ideology as an escape from reality that will allow them to feel intimidating, large, informed and powerful instead of vulnurable often spouting hateful bizzare and improbable conspiratorial nonsense.

It is the nature of an ideologue to take a fact they don't like deny it and turn it into a victimhood good vs evil narrative.

all ideology is founded in a good vs evil mythology.  When someone puts ideology over common sense it is because they believe it makes them a good person and people who believe otherwise bad.  if you are trying to reason with an ideologue who is putting ideology before common sense it is important that you make them feel like they are a good person and assure them that good people do believe in what ever the fact is.  They will probably try to cut down and demonize what ever person you offer as example.  The idea is the same though you can't make them feel they are a bad person and you have to make them believe that good people belueve in facts.

preference for ideology over facts is probably an earluer evilutiin that prioritized survival of the group iver that of the individual.

Ideologues use ide toty rather than logic or reason to determine good and evil true and false.  Everything serves a mythical larger than life image of ones own groups position in the world.  Logic and facts are lost on an ideologue, they want to know hownrealoty serves the greatness of their identity.

People who lack common sense are often ideologues.  Their ideology will not allpw them to embrace certain facts.

Ideologues are the dealers of deception rationalozokg their biases in ways that become a part of a culture.

We tend to view our ideologies as absolute truth and a prioroty.  We tend to be unaware of the downsides of the issues we find important.  What is more when people mention legitimate weaknesses of our ideology we paint them as bad people and threats.  For example take racism, clearly a problem, at the same time it is one bias. An out group bias.  So you can't credibly combat bias when you consider men, the country, capitalism, a political party or white people as inherantly bad.  This is the nature of out group biases.  People want to pick theor spots and be as oppressive toward their out group as the oppression they face.  Another example is men and sexism.  Sexism is bad but the strength men portray themselvez with draws attention and inspires cooperation, so their domineering style toward women or the put group may be bad, but the stremgth thry show is part of an optimal strayegy.  Adding to optimal strategy men should signal strength in their admiration for the in group smd the ideals and use that strength to praose what is good rather than degrade what is bad.

Our belief systems set our standardss and help us evaluate what is weakness, what is stremgth, what is similar, what is differeent, what is an advantage and what is a threat.  It is set by our sense of strength which directs us to sdvantages like ideals.   Name cycle of setting ideals and identity. Depressive loop of domination.

When someone refuses to reason, refuses to use facts. they default to ideology and vharavterize you as the bad person for not adhering to an ignorant cultural fantasy 

We do a great disservice to our population by raising them to be ideologues but it is all many understand.  Although ideology does make for a common defense it comes as the expense of common sense.

Ideologues choose ideology over facts every time unless their ideology is based in facts likescientific identity.

Dysropic fantasies and apocolyptic vusuons of what happens when a cultural code is not followed or those of a differing belief system take power.

When uniting against a common enemy good people end up together with very bad people.  This is because the eay we behave toward out groups is a reflection of humanity at it's absolute worst.

In monoculture farming people.plamt just one crop.  There is a major weakness if a disease hits the crop often thatdisease infects everything.  Ideology works the same way.  When majority cultures take over conspircy theories and broad denial of fact spread like a social virus spread primarily by ideologues of that culture.  Historically speaking no threat has ever matched that of a majoroty culture responsible for virtually all war and genocide.  As dangerous as majority ideologies can be everyone itches for it.  Everyone expects others to share their ideoligical bias and so the virus spreads very naturally.  Sharing acommon culture has neccesary benefits people cooperate and respect one another.  It comeswith risks amdinstead of compensating forrisk these vulnirabilties are exploited.

If a person puts ideology over facts is that person qt q disadvantage.  If ancountry puts ideology over facts is that country at a disadvantage to those with fact based approqches.  

When a country puts ideology before facts it becomes theocratic.  This is what a party system brings.

As we age many people get more wrapped up in ideology, in a fantasy of the way the world should be.  They reject reality and become more distant.  For this reason young people are often more in toucwith reality as there is less corrupting influence of ideology.  Not to say they are perfect or experienced, just that they are still develpping and they more readily adjust to facts rather than try to control things becoming mpre angry and ignorant.

Ideologues do not adjust to facts they adhere to a cultural fantasy they push as reality.  A realoty where they are the good guys and often those with contradicting favts represent an existential threat.  Realistically facts are a threat to a cultural fantasy.

The focus of conspiracy theories is always an out group.  Ideologues need to make those of differing beliefs out to be as bad as possible and conspiracy theories take on such mythical proportion.

Ideologues need to bring their ideology into unrelated conversations.

A sign someone is an ideologue is they evoke a boogieman that seems unrelated to the subject or barely loosely related.

A sign of an ideologue is getting angry when facts are mentioned oftenproviking them to evoke a boogieman.

An inability to make a clear connection is a sign thatideology is trumping common sense.

Ideologues cant see how they make the same mistakes as their boogiemen.

Ideologues put ideology before facts and common sense.  

Ideologues ignore facts when they question the dominance of their culture.  Therefore ideologues ignore facts to promote their own cultural dominance.

To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead -thomas paign.

Ideologues have been able to hide under the illusion of a grandiose sense of self entitlement.  This narcasism is laid to bear on the internet and people who are bulloed into submission in person are finding another avenie to chsllenge the cultural and ideologucal illusions of the ideologue.

If common sense isn't being applied 99 out of 100 ideology is involved.

Ignore common sense and adjusting to realoty and living in accordance with a belief system.  Like father knows best, my parents did it, you gonna tell me that is wrong.

Ideologues can have a mastery of the ideals they hold dearest with qll sorts of relatable quotes and stories that are easy to identify with.  Artists and politicians can be masterful ideologues.  Ideolpgues are trouble when they focus on the weaknesses and threats of others as it relates to their belief system.  It is the difference between cooperative qnd and competative narcasism.  They are coopeerative or competative ideologues.  Competative ideologues tend to have little to say about an ideal and much more to say about the risks to that ideal.  Their vision tends to be myopic and monomaniacle choosing to crown people.over the head with the same "fact" over and over again.  They can not stand when anything wavers from their image of ideal and tolerate no dovergence.  Additionally they will not cooperate with those who are seen as a threat to their beliefs, particularly anyone who has an alternativd identity.  For a competatoce narcasists ideals are all about a means of dominance, they expect their ideals to be accepted eithout question and will not tolerate any critisism.  They feel entitled to assert the authority if their group and anyone who questions this authoroty is a threat.  Although it may not be expressed overtly they expect purity sndnexpect everyone share the same beliefs.  This expectation is expressed through harsh critisism of those who do not share similar beliefs.  Competative narcaists strike when they feel vulnurable and critisism makes them feel vulnerable.  Cooperative narcaists on the other hand see similarotoes between believe systems may talk about a broader range of ideals and relate more ideals to dofferent stories.  Cooperatove narcaissits are often not threatened by differingnbeliefs instead seeing the humor in the errors of others and themselves.  No one is just one or the other, most people lean on the competative side.  Young people are nore cooperatively leaning so we become more competative as we age.  Cooperative is more adaptive readily adopting new beliefs and techniques for achieving social advantages.  Cooperative ideologues are happier and more inclusive and the size of their social groups will reflect this.

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same god who has endowed us with sense reason and intellect jas intended us to forgo their use.  Galoleo Galilei.

Almost all philosophy i have read has some catty infighting where the author expresses contempt with those they see as rivals.  This isnunfortunately that section.  I aim to identify characteristics of those who will be my mostnvocal critics and try to illustrate the nature of their errors.

Ideologues invade every social circle on the planet and set up rules and expectations that lead them to feel entitled to a certain order but more importantly make people feel threatened when theor superstitions are not observed.

Ideology springs from the advantsge of truth.  Problem is that people use this truth to profess themselves the good guys and ithers bad, one right and another wrong.  The ideal foundational to ideology is coopted, conflated and othereose corrupted by a mond that likes to cooperate with those of ones own group who have an advantsge 

When idealigues are dealing with things thay are identity related their ideology supercedes the ability to incorporate new information.  Kinda like father knows best.  A parent may discount what a child knows because their identity as a parent supercedes is entitled to dominance over the child.

Ideologues are impervious to facts.

Supremely unwilling to employ cooperative behavior to out group like compliments or charavterizing the out group as anything butbweaker and threatening.  Eill refuse tovsee similarities between themselves and the out group.

Ideologies rely on higher authority rather than common sense to make decisions so often common sense is discounted and the will of a higher authoroty takes precident and many terrible decisions are made for this reason.

When we are idealizing, when we are dreaming of a better world and new advantages it is a reflection of humanity in its best most cooperative and constructive manner.

Ideology is just a set of biases and when you learn how someone feels you see that our beliefs are just superstitions backed by magical thinking.  The government doesn't raise enough money to give people enough to livr comfortsbly because we as a society probably don't produce enough for everyone to live comfortably.  Where are the numbers that suggest we produce enough for everyone to live comfortably.

An ideoligical group is the same as a cult, a cult is juat breaks off from larger ideologies so there isn't the same accountsbility to a large group.

We act in a more kind amd favorable way to those who share our in group and we act in a oppressoce and discriminatory way toward the out group.  This worked when we have small social circles but now the group us bigger.  A part of racism and sexism is that those from within an in group treat each other so much better.

All war is the product of ideologues.

Everyone works on an ideal.  Dicersify your ideal porfolio.  Master thr ideal by applying it in different ways.  Learn from others and examine how they apply an ideal.  Share your understanding of how great people apply an ideal.  Judge people based on an ideal.  Be careful not to assume one ideal or one cultures discription of an ideal issupreme or specfic to that culture.  Don't be an idealogue, ideologues are too easily threatened by differing cultures.  Our goal is to schieve advnatgaes in as many cultures as possible.  It may never be possible to achieve an advantsge with a bigoted ideologue, watch put for the ideologue supremacist and don't cooperate with them.

Who is an ideologue.  Do they think that only their culture exemplifies an ideal.  Do they refuse to concede similarities between other cultures.  Say religions or nations that share ideals, do they refuse to concede that ground.

Do they fesr outsiders.

Do they fear change 

Is their standard the eay things were in the past.

Do they feel entitled others should share their beliefs.

Are people who don't share beliefs bad guys?

Voltron Season 4 thoughts *SPOILERS*

Alright so i had very mixed feelings about the season. Overall i loved it. I just loved watching it because i missed it. But as with everything there are some pros and cons i wanted to point out.

1. YALL NEED TO CHILL. Yes the season wasnt what everyone was expecting but come on if you were a fan of it dont shit on it. Thats incredibly rude. It wasnt like a OOC fanfic.

2. Yes the season was short. They told us though that it was seasons 3 other half so it makes sense. Do i wish for more. Yes. But i'm not gonna be a brat about it. They work really hard to give it to us so i can wait till season 5.

3. I STILL BELIEVE SHIRO MIGHT BE A CLONE. Heres why. Right when season 2 ended right Shiro goes missing and ends up in a Galra prison. Right. Okay before he goes missing he ends up getting his bayard back. NOW WHERE THE FUCK DID IT GO? Along with the black paladin suit. Like where the fuck did he get a new one. He left with it and didnt come back with it on so do they like....have more armor?? Also the way "Shiro" talked in episiode one was ....not okay? Like what was his fucking problem. The Shiro we know is alot more understanding than demanding. He wouldnt even give Keith a chance to speak....like hes been really off. Shiro is not this.....dark? He seemed more closed off from the others but that could be cause he wanted his postiin back deep down. IM PROBABLY GONNA MAKE A WHOLE PPST ABOUT SHIRO BECAUSE I LOVE HIM SO.

4. Where was keith? He was on screen for like 2 seconds and off he went. Then everyone being pissed at him for having to choose. But when Shiro gets to be a paladin again they kinda screw keith over. They were suddenly okay with him leaving after the amount of preasure they put on him? Like that was odd to me.

6. Lance and Hunk did get shoved into the background more but they did tell us to be patient with their character development. They have to balance both that and plot dont you know.

7. Hunk is more than a joke guys. This show is meant for 7 year olds too. Could they do a but better with him ....yeah BUT he is badass. We saw that this season and everyone praises his ability. They rely on him too so i dont understand why you guys are blowing up over a few mistakes. Look at the bigger picture.

8. Pidge is my pride and joy loved epsiode 2 with the graveyard scene. That was for us adults to understand and relate more with her.

9. THE COMEDY WAS GOLD. Loved it. Ice skating voltron thats it.

Also the creaters do so much for us already by continuing the show because if it gets bad enough reviews from you guys complaining it will get cancelled and i dont think anyone wants that.
