I've read alot of prompts, specifically from the likes of @yonemurishiroku about nico being a god, or being confused to be a god by newer campers of chb and camp Jupiter, but I couldn't really find what he's god of. So I give you:

Nico Di Angelo, god of metanoia, demigods, and demigod legacies.

In this I'm talking the psychological definition not Christian definition of metanoia which is "the process of experiencing a psychotic "breakdown" and subsequent, positive psychological re-building or "healing""

Solangelo fic idea: Rescue from the museum or don't mess with the guy who can summon the dead

Will had decided he wanted to finish school and one day they make a trip to the museum. While his class is there terrorist take everyone hostage and unsure of how to save everyone he calls for help from his boyfriend. Nico is livid and decides he is gonna send those assholes to his father asap.

Everything had started out fine, the day had been going so well, the trip was nice, the weather was good, the lecture was interesting but then everything had gone to shit. A man had suddenly pulled out a gun and moments later several others also shoot into the air, ordering everyone to raise their hands and get to the ground. They were all brought to a smaller room and guarded there. No doube as hostages till the men got whatever they wanted. Will had tried to comfert the children who were there but promtly got a gun pointed at him and told to shut up or die. He had no idea how to get out of this mess so he did the only thing that came to mind. He thought of Nico and praid, he was not even sure for what. His boyfriend was in camp halfblood many miles away and he had no way to contact him as an IM would hardly work right now. Will just hoped he would not die here, Nico would be so pissed if he got himself murdered.

Nico Di Angelo woke up with a start, the quite mutterings of Will still ringing in his ears. He had seen his lover surrounded by armed men, trying to comfort a crying child, he had heared Will pray, seen the fearful look in his blue eyes and knew it was not just a dream. It was real, Will needed him and by Hades he wasn't gonna let some stupid idot kill his boyfriend. So shadow traveling it was.

It took Will only a few moments to notice that the shadows moved. Bare secunds later Nico Di Angelo appered out of the dark, right behind the man who was guarding him and all the other hostages. "What are you staring at?", were the hilarious last words of the man who had pointed a gun at his face not even an hour ago. Nico had run him through with his sword and the man dropped dead on the spot. "Nico", he wispered relived and the next moment he was hugging his boyfriend, ,,how..what are doing here?" "You praid, I answered", Nico answered confidently before turning to all the other stunnd and terrified people in the room. "You calm them I will take care of the guys outside", Nico mumbled, "How many are there?" "I don't know. I think like half a dutzend or so", Will answered, "you sure you can handle it?". Nico raised an eyebrow before a grin appeared on his face. "Sweetheart, we are in a place full of dead things. Those fuckers will have to deal with way more then just me", the dark haired boy answered. It was that moment that Will knew that those men were already dead and in Tartarus, they just didn't know it yet.

No but like. This is so funny.

Because if you look into it, Nico is an authority figure. And then we have him befriending Jason and Reyna. Hazel, his sister, later becomes praetor, too. Frank, who too becomes praetor, found him harmless at first and was one of the few isn’t intimidated. Hell, even Octavian considered recruiting Nico to his side once.

Like. This is also why I prefer Camp Jupiter over Camp Halfblood when it comes to Nico. It’s just so funny. This migrating raccoon just randomly came and somehow has gained influence over the empire’s hierarchy im akshanhsa——

Nico, befriending Jason and Reyna in rapid succession largely by accident: I am aware of the effect I have on praetors.

percy had an 'im a big three son' moment when he choked a goddess with her own saliva (controlling a fluid that was INSIDE her body) annabeth was terrified.

nico had an 'im a big three son' moment when he disembodied bryce lawrence (quite literally dissipating and shrinking his LIVING soul into a spirit) and threw him to the underworld, smashing his zombie warriors. reyna was terrified.

yet we were robbed of jason's 'im a big three son' moment where he sucks the air out of someone's lungs and makes them stop breathing, or damaging a person's nervous system with his lightning control, and literally cause internal bleeding, or a damaged/fried skull if he electrocuted hard enough (look up the effects of lightning damage on body y'all will get a whole list, tbh he doesn't even need lightning to do any of this, air control is more than enough since air takes charge of everything going inside the body, but this is just an added effect.) he could give people STROKES if he wanted to. he's the literal definition of burnt out kid who was suppressed from discovering the magnitude of his abilities, because one, his dad's ego wouldn't be able to handle it, two, because he, for some reason, can't be allowed to do anything other than get knocked out :/

also adding on, hardcore pjo fans know that after the ending page of boo, there's this fan story that rick chose to publish in the last few pages of the book where a fan reimagines the ending of hoo, in that work, annabeth collapses from an attack and percy sobs clutching her body. jason calmly asks him to step aside, and kneels before annabeth, jason regulates her breathing using his wind/lightning powers and brings annabeth back fully from her cardiac arrest, causing percy to be relieved. (I wanted to link the pics of the pages here so bad but I didn't have the hard copy of the book with me, and this isn't available anywhere online either, only in the original covers of boo uk and us version, so I edited this post and asked people to reblog this post w the pics if they have the hardcopy, and a kind blogger found the story I'm talking about and reblogged the pictures of the pages, you can check my reblogs of this post for the pictures of the almost all the pages after this scene) considering rick approved and even liked the fan's work well enough to publish it in the official boo book, I'd say rick was aware and never completely ruled out expanding jason's abilities and had them in mind, he simply didn't incorporate it into the books. (also W fan for giving jason the rep he deserves, I will always remember you, you saw the VISION before any of us did, the story was very well written, with great dialogue.)

Nico referring to his mom as "Mama" implies he most likely at least used to refer to Hades as "Papa" and i 100% headcanon he still does but mostly in the manner of him having the entire Underworld wrapped around his finger for being the baby of the family

I wanna see Nico in traditional outfits of multiple pantheons. like maybe he does business with other pantheons often as ghost king, and he finds other pantheons to feel a bit more comfortable when he wears clothing from their pantheon.

Nico likely would use garments that he feels comfortable in tho, so some pantheons perceive the ruler of ghosts as female.

Fanfiction idea

Daughter of Persephone

A new camper showed up at camp and to everyones shock she was a daughter of Persephone, the only one at camp. The girl was shy and quiet, a peaceloving, fearful little girl with few soical skills and way too trusting for her own good. The perfect victum for bullies. Or so they thought. A of campers began to target the girl and since she didn't want to snich they got away for it for a few weeks. Till one day, the bullies followed her to her cabin after the campfire. What the bullies don't realise was that the darkness didn't hid just them from sight.

The moment they put their hands on the small girl a voice interupted them "Get away from her!" And there he stood, Nico di Angelo, son of Hades freshly back from a quest, still covered in blood, his black sword in hand and he was pissed. "If any of you even so much as look at her the wrong way ever again I am going to reap your soul and send you to the underworld." The bullies ran, tripping over the shadows which became sollid under their feet. Nico turned to the girl, now calm and with a kind look on his face "Come I will take you home" The girl, never having seen Nico before she asked "Who are you?" "I am you Stepbrother", he answered pulling her up, "call me Nico, or Neeks if you want."
