Summary: A-Qing pickpockets Ouyang Zizhen, and he falls in love at first sight. The Juniors TRY to help him win her over. It does not start out well… Or 4 times A-Qing pickpockets Ouyang Zizhen, and 1 time Ouyang Zizhen receives something in return. Based on the prompt to write something silly or fun involving A-Qing. Kay's comments: A pairing I tend to overlook and still enjoy, so I was really delighted by this story. It was cute, it was funny, and it gave A-Qing a much better ending than canon. Her and Ouyang Zichen's flirting is incredibly charming. They have a single brain cell between the two of them and it struggles to connect the dots. Excerpt: “Did she seem to like the flowers?” Ouyang Zizhen anxiously asked. “In a way she did… She kind of ate them…” Lan Jingyi replied. Ouyang Zizhen looked crestfallen. “Maybe she thought you’re just the sort of person who carries flowers around and didn’t know you picked them for her?” Lan Sizhui speculated. “She was probably getting rid of the evidence of the theft,” Jin Ling retorted. “Or maybe she was really hungry?” Lan Jingyi said hopefully.

Summary: Qiu Shiyu is a pragmatic young woman, she knows that the marriage her father wants to arrange will be more for his benefit than hers. But even so, she cannot help hoping that her prospective husband to be just might be someone who can match her romantic side too. Kay's comments: I have to admit that it's difficult to get me invested into original characters, but I really enjoyed this story and was immediately intriqued when I saw the summary, just because I adore Ouyang Zichen and feel like he deserves more love! This story features a sweet little perspective of a merchant's daughter on the cultivation world and the woes of being married off despite being a romantic at heart, but luckily for her, she's arranged to marry Ouyang Zichen, who's just as much of a romantic! Just a lovely little story of a first meeting. Excerpt: When she touches the silk to pull it away, it slides free of its own accord, slipping into her fingers like spring rain, revealing the picture before she’d had a moment to even take a breath. Immediately she knows it was a mistake to look. Her heart sighs hopefully as painted eyes smile up at her from the painting, warmed even further by the sentimental smile he bears on his face. If the artist has chosen to enhance his features, it was silly of them; he is lovely as he is. They have drawn him as she might see him if she went to seek him out in their future home, standing in the garden with a book in his hands, face open to interruption. He dresses simply, even for an arrangement picture, it isn’t what she would have expected of a cultivator, but somehow it suits him to be dressed and displayed so. He holds the book with care in his hands, rolling it back gently so the pages will lie straight when he sets it aside. But it is his eyes that she is drawn to again; dark and open like a doorway into pleasant dreams. She doesn’t need to look at the way he smiles or how he holds a book or where he stands to imagine looking into those dark eyes for the rest of her life. Somehow the artist has captured the gaze of a young man who would look at the woman he loves with adoration for the rest of his life, who would see her as a rival to the Four Great Beauties no matter how time or illness might ravage her face, and it is all her romantic heart has ever wanted.

Summary: A typical night hunt goes south quickly as Wei Wuxian gets severely injured protecting the juniors. They are understandably not okay with this, and try to deal with the aftermath of what they went through while taking care of a comatose Wei Wuxian. They were in for a long night ahead of them. Kay's comments: My heart breaks for the juniors in this story, but it's also so heart-warming to see how much they care for their Wei-qianbei. I was especially taken with Ouyang Zichen in this one, the fourth junior who often gets forgotten but is just as much part of the junior squad as the others. Despite Wei Wuxian being hurt badly in this story, there's no need to fear! Happy ending guaranteed! And many found family vibes as well! Excerpt: “We almost died but me walking around is too much for you?!” Jin Ling snarled, edges sharp. “We were not the ones who almost died!” Lan Jingyi cried out. The room went silent. A strangled inhale came from behind them, and Lan Jingyi spun on his heel, hand immediately outstretched, “Sizhui, I-“ “He almost died.” Lan Sizhui voice trembled, “He almost died again.” Lan Jingyi’s hand fell. Lan Sizhui didn’t look at them, eyes anchored to Wei Wuxian’s slack face, “Hanguang-Jun would have lost him again - my father would have lost him again. He’d never recover.” He was shaking. “I...I could have lost him again. And this time I remember, I would know what I lost. I can’t- I can’t lose him.” No one had anything to say to that.
