“Unlike you, I remember everything.” 👀
Echo frowned at the glowing figure before her and crossed her arms over her chest. “Considering the brain can only think of 5 to 7 things at one time, of course things will be forgotten. I highly doubt you remember everything.” She felt two quick yanks on her sleeve urging her to move while Deacon chuckled nervously beside her.
“Will you please stop arguing with the specter of an undead cultist for like two minutes.” He grumbled low enough for only Echo to hear. She rolled her eyes.
“No, I’m not done.”
“Bullseye.”

insert “It’s been 84 years” gif here  “You were always the quiet one.” ft Emmeline Trevelyan (companion) and Blackwall.
------
Anger would have been preferable and far tamer than the rage that boiled within Emmeline’s chest. Hot and icy all at once, she struggled a moment to compose herself as she straightened her back, golden brown eyes boring into the guards who stood watch over the prison door. “Move, if you please.”
“Em.” Her cousin’s voice caught her attention, but she dared not look over at Alexander and let her composure fade into whatever mess her emotions had become. “You shouldn’t be here. We’re taking care of this.”
“I don’t care,” Emmeline spoke through gritted teeth, clenching her jaw tightly as she watched the nearest guard shift uncomfortably under her glaring. “I need to see him.” Need also felt like too tame a word to use as all her ladylike tendencies clawed and struggled to remain firmly in place. Her little sister was the wild animal, not her, but she felt as though she could give Cora a run for her money at this moment.
“It’s not pleasant down there-” Alexander began, his mouth snapping shut as Emmeline whirled towards him, letting her mask fall with a soft, barely audible hiccuping breath.
“Lexie, please.” While the nickname was Cora-given, it was easy to see how it worked on Alexander as he gave in with a long, slow sigh. A flick of his hand moved the guards, the wooden door creaking open before her.
“Prepare yourself, Em,” Alexander’s hand grasped her shoulder, an act of reassurance that Emmeline would only admit inwardly helped. “Don’t stay too long. We’ve nearly outstayed our welcome here.”
Nodding, not trusting her own voice, Emmeline squared her shoulders as she marched down into the depths of the Orlesian dungeon. Decked in her finery, she was decidedly out of place among the stone walls that had cracks in them, mildew clinging to the air and rusted metal bars of the cells that surrounded her. Her boots clicked against the flagstone, the only cell occupied all the way in the back with the barest flickering light on the wall.
Blackwall, or whoever he was, sat in his lonely cell. His shoulders were hunched, defeat etched in every line of his body. Emmeline was caught, unable to breathe as she tried to reconcile the man here with the one who she had loved fiercely.
“You were always the quiet one. I suppose I should have suspected something from you. But affection and lust can blind anyone’s senses.” There was a slight tremor to her voice despite her best efforts, pressing her lips together in a tight line as she watched him move from behind the bars of his cell.
“Have you come to gloat, Madame?” There was a finality to his tone, the words dripping with sarcasm as he finally dared to look her in the eye. She knew a wounded soul when she saw one; Cora was proof enough that sarcasm and barbs were almost enough to keep anyone at arm’s length. Almost, of course, being the key there.
“I’ve come to see for myself who and what you are.”
Blackwall gave a barking laugh, but there was no humor to it. “Am I monstrous enough for you?”
“You look sad,” Emmeline snapped, eyes narrowed as she watched him. “And pathetic behind these bars.”
There was a surge forward, the chains rattling hard in his grasp as he shook the bars with a soft snarl. “You should not be here. Prison is no place for an esteemed lady.”
“If you mean to scare me, you’re doing a poor job of it.” She stepped closer to the cell, reaching out as her gloved hands rested upon his. “Yes, you have done terrible things. But I do not believe that the man you were is the same man that stands before me.”
“I have blood on my hands, Emmeline. I do not think it will ever wash clean.” The anger in his voice softened and anguish replaced it swiftly. “Alexander should leave me here. You should leave me here. Forget about me and move on with your life.”
It was a tight fit, but Emmeline managed to squeeze part of her hand through the bars, gently grasping the tip of Blackwall’s chin. “No one tells me what to do,” she murmured softly. “You should know that by now.”
“Impossible woman.”
“Pot, meet kettle,” Emmeline couldn’t help the humor, indulging in some normalcy for a moment before she pulled her hand away from the cell. “I’m going to sort this out. When you’re back at Skyhold, then we can talk about penance.”
Alexander would show mercy, that much she knew without a doubt. Whether or not her lover would accept it was another story. Straightening her shoulders, she looked him over once again, biting back further rising emotions that threatened to spill out once again. If they couldn’t save him…
“I’ll see you soon, Thom.” His name felt foreign on her tongue and, turning away, she hurried back through the damp towards the outside world again.

TOP FIVE nostalgic cartoons (90s-2000s)
GOOOOOSH So, I grew up watching a shit ton of cartoons. Mostly thanks to watching stuff at my grandparents cause they had cable and then when we moved out Mom also like...had ‘special channels’ n stuff from a different company which was honestly really nice so I got to watch some absolute gems.
1. Danny Phantom (2004 - 2007)
I was 9 about to turn 10 in a few days when Mom agreed to let me stay up and watch the Kid’s Choice Awards back in 2004. That night man...I watched the premiere of Danny Phantom and oh my god it changed my life. It felt like it was a birthday present to me (wasn’t but I was like 9 lol), and I just immediately fell in love. I heard the OG theme song and will say I got upset that the song changed upon the reruns and I had never heard it again. Granted, I ended up liking the song everyone knows and loves, but will say I was majorly confused after that haha. While the show definitely has some...issues, this cartoon in particular sparked the love of paranormal/supernatural and got me into fanfiction as well as writing haha. It was the first fandom I also sorta got into as well :3
Tumblr media
2. Rugrats (1991 - 2004)
To this day I still remember coming home from half day kindergarten and sitting down at my grandparents to get a snack, nap, and either be picked up by Mom or get to studying (by reading aloud to Grandma with Nancy Drew books). While there Rugrats was on and every time up until I deemed it way too childish, I’d play again with the theme song. Right before Tommy would squirt milk at the screen I’d duck n cover behind a chair, the coffee table, couch, whatever was in the living room and feel all high and mighty cause “Ha, you missed again Tommy Pickles.” Cause I had it in my head that if I was out in the open, I’d get hit by the milk and ‘lose’ the game XD Tiny me had fun.
Tumblr media
3. American Dragon: Jake Long (2005 - 2007)
I did not know I loved modern fantasy or that it was even a genre until later down the line, but my god that’s what this cartoon is. AND BOY HOWDY. I ALSO REALLY ADORE DRAGONS!!! I love the whole aspect of like mythical creatures are underground and in hiding and my god I’ve read some good ass crossover fic with this show and Danny Phantom. I know folks hate the whole style and design change that happened from season 1 to 2, will say season 2 is still fucking good and brings up some fun stuff (like how Dragons can PUNCH GHOSTS haha love that) ALSO I do love that they changed Jake’s dragon design. Don’t get me wrong, I love both designs for different reasons plus...I just love dragons man... And goddamn I’m pretty sure my humor stems from this show and Danny Phantom lolololol God Trixie and Spud were the fuckin best. Love them.
Tumblr media
4. Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005 - 2008)
Holy shit, I still cannot believe that there is like...a resurgence of Avatar as of late and I am LOVING LIFE. I remember when it was coming out and I’d just watch the story unfold and root for Aang and had fuckin no idea what each episode would unfold. I’ve re-watched it over and over however many times, but like was unable to do so in order mostly cause didn’t have option for DVDs (and I’d still love to own it...someday). The story and the heart of this show just sends me and I am so happy I can like watch it again thanks to Netflix like shit I’ve missed it and I ADORE the HELL out of all the analysis stuff that’s coming through now that did not exist while the show was coming out. Feels good.
Also fun fact: Voice actors for Zuko & Katara are same as Jake & Rose from American Dragon. So have fun with that :3
Tumblr media
5. Teen Titans (2003 - 2006)
God, soon as I typed that I just...heard the theme song sakdhfdsfh. It’s kinda weird that its like... I do enjoy super heroes but to an extent. Fully blame Danny Phantom and god their crossover fics are aplenty. What I loved about TT is like they’re just a group of friends who’ve become a family and work super goddamn well together. They still argue with each other and they’re vastly different from each other but the story and the chemistry these characters share in the show is so damn beautiful... Give me found family tropes. They are my life blood. Also my fav was Raven cause she’s spooky and I cannot stress enough how much paranormal shit I love. Also her and Robin’s friendship sends me as does Cyborg’s & Starfire’s sweet sweet friendship. Beast Boy is a major goof and I love how much lil brother energy he radiates. QAQ goddamn it I’m crying now.
Tumblr media
I have many other cartoon shows that I absolutely resonate with and are highly nostalgic for me, cause goddamn I watched soooooo many growing up. But alas 5 limit haha

I lied yesterday. I just couldn’t stop with this until it was finished. So have here @potatocrab‘s Madelyn Hardy and Deacon, all glammed up and gloomy for their Noir photo-shoot. Plus details because holy shit, I drew that! Also, I don’t know why they look even sadder/more conflicted here than in the wip from yesterday. The painting just went like that. ^^;

Couldn’t get the idea of @potatocrab‘s Rosie and Tin Lizzy hangin’ out of my head, so have a quick sketch!
I like to imagine they’re making a shopping list for some fancy water purifier or something while Butch antagonizes Charon in the background. :V

I’ve posted my last fic for 2019 so my final total for the year is now 208,257 words which is pretty freakin’ decent all things considered
I would like to take the time to say thank you to everybody who has ever contributed to reading, subscribing, kudo-ing, commenting, bookmarking, subscribing, reblogging, tag-flailing, etc.... on any of my fics. I read every notification and I truly try to be as interactive as possible :)
Your readership and encouragement has kept me going all these years (and not just on Ao3).
Cheers to 2020!
Love you all. 🥔 🦀🥳

Get to Know Me
Thanks so much for the tag @maraleestuff!! I missed doing these.
Rules: Answer the questions, and tag nine people you'd like to get to know better.
Favorite Color: This is such an insanely difficult question?? I’m very addicted to colors (its a problem), but red has been a long time favorite of mine, as well as cobalt blue.
Currently Reading: Rhythm of War, V4 of the Stormlight Archive, by Brandon Sanderson. I’m so hooked on this series, and I’m tantalizingly close to finishing the book.
Last Song: Do Your Worst, by The Happy Fits. It’s my newest addiction.
Last Series: We binged the shit out of Dragon Prince on Netflix. Didn’t expect for it to be so good, definitely didn’t expect to be so engaged in it. Can’t wait for Season 4 in November!!
Last Movie: Mad Max Fury Road, and I laughed my ass off for most of it. So ridiculous. But I did like the old ladies with guns and motorcycles!
Sweet/ Savory/ Spicy: YES.
Currently Working On: Oh gosh so many things?? Finishing up client work for the field I actually got a degree in (*gasp*). I’m in between commission cycles for art, which is what I primarily do these days. I ought to set up a side blog here for my art, but I’m over on twatter as Art_By_Dae. And...I’ve recently opened up the file for the Skyrim WIP I abandoned last year. Going back and fixing up the outline, enhancing some character motivations! I can’t even guess when there might be something to read, but y’all can bet I’ll let you know when!!
Open tag because I don’t know most of you, and I don’t even know who’s still here that I used to tag. @potatocrab, you back? @curiousartemis, you around? @cinderthemechanics?? I have no idea. But feel free to do this is you want to get to know me better! I would like some internet frens pls.

Tagging @alittlestarling @potatocrab @happywitch416 @chuckhansen @genginger @ladyeglantine and anyone who would like to join in!
His hand flailed out, reaching blindly to clasp hers as they moved together, fitting like two perfect pieces to a puzzle he hadn’t realized he had been missing until recently. “I have been waiting for you,” he groaned, breath hot at her ear. “For over three centuries.”

Writer’s Review
Thanks for the tag @kagetsukai.  This was a fun trip down memory lane.  My first published work was In January of 2008 and it was for Inuyasha and my most recent works have been for Fallout 4, but for the funsies of direct comparison, I chose my first Dragon Age fic (published in 2010 when I was SIXTEEN GAH) and a very unintentionally similar scene I wrote back when I started Temperance in 2019.  ;D
Rules: Post two snippets of your writing. The first should be one of the oldest examples of your work that you can find (the older the better!), and the other has to be an excerpt from something more recent. Compare the two side by side to see the difference between what your writing looks like now and how it did then.
In return I shall tag @potatocrab @laurelsofhighever @adventuresofmeghatron and anyone else who might wish to cringe at their own old writing.  As always, no pressure.  I’m just following the rules.
I’m gonna stick this under a read more because it’s very long.
Excerp from Hunger, a short fic for my warden Eliya Surana and Alistair.
It sounded again. It was more recognizable this time. It was a laugh or a chuckle. It sounded human, or possibly elven to her ears. The thought of bandits waiting like tigers ready to pounce upon them and cut her throat, then Alistair, Leliana, and Morrigan (if they dared). Then they'd rob the camp and leave the corpses to the darkspawn and beasts of the forest.
They thought of being decapitated didn't sit well with the red headed elf. In a rush of fear and adrenaline, she leaped forward toward whoever was laughing and charged up and electricity spell holding it to whatever she'd made contact with. She hoped to scare whatever it was into submission. She didn't understand how successful she'd been until she looked down.
She was straddling what was definitely human, definitely male, and definitely…
"HOLY CRAP IT'S YOU," she said with an embarrassed yet relieved shout as she held the spell to the man's face and it had revealed his identity. It was Alistair and she'd obviously startled him.
"No, no don't hit me! I bruise easily," he said putting his hands in front of his embarrassment flushed face.
"I'm SO sorry," she said not thinking to get up off of him in her disgruntled state, "I thought you were a bandit and you were going to cut my throat and then kill everyone else and take all of the FOOD. Why were you laughing?"
"I was… uhh… laughing… err…at… haha… you," he said in a meek manner like she'd kill him if he said it, "Though now I know to never ever ever EVER do that again EVER."
Eliya gave him a confused eyebrow raise, her pointy ears twitching slightly in a quirky involuntary manner. "At me? Why?" She wondered if it was because she was elven. Despite being accepted by the humans in the Circle, she had lived in Denerim for awhile and was quick to accuse humans of racist beliefs. She hadn't thought Alistair to be… that way after being around him for several days, but she had to question his motives.
"No, no, its not what you're thinking," The stunned boy said apologetically. Alistair obviously knew what she was getting at, "Its not because you're an elf. I swear it! I heard you rattling around and talking to yourself. I thought it was funny because I knew what you were doing. It seemed like déjà vu for me because I went through the same hunger thing. I… couldn't help it."
"Oh," Eliya said with a relieved chuckle, "That's good because I really didn't want to beat you up."
Alistair laughed but when he saw the stern expression on the girl's face he stopped. "Wait are you serious," he questioned.
Eliya looked sternly for about five more seconds but then busted into a hysterical laughter.
"We're even now," she said between laughs. And they sat there laughing at the predicament.
Excerpt from Chapter 3 of Temperance, a scene between Liss Cousland and Alistair
The air was slightly too cold for her liking, teeth chattering as the wind nipped at her cheeks and nose.  Despite her discomfort, she found the courtyard ideal, ferns and flowers illuminated only by moonlight. She wondered how the plants survived the frost that coated them each night, the hardy little things.  Closing her eyes, she inhaled deeply and allowed her muscles to lose their tension.
The calm lasted only briefly, as she heard a rustle in the grass behind her and footsteps approaching.  She turned on her heels abruptly, balling her hand into a fist, and jabbing forcefully in the direction of the noise.  A man’s voice yelped in pain, and there was a thud as the figure, now in focus, fell to the ground. Liss moved to restrain the potential attacker, sitting atop him with her fist at the ready.
“No no no!  Please don’t hit me again, I bruise easily,” the man, whose features Liss could now see more clearly, pleaded.
He was a young man with sandy hair, brown skin, and dark hazel eyes wide with shock and perhaps pain at the punch she had landed against his torso.  He did not appear to be armed, or dangerous for that matter. Then again, she knew better than to let her guard down.
“Who are you,” she demanded, fist still at the ready, “And why were you sneaking around in the courtyard?”
“My name is Alistair,” he answered nervously, “I had come outside for some air, as one does, and I noticed that someone else was out here.  I, uh…well I was hoping not to alarm you. I guess we see how well that worked out.”
“Alistair?” The name sounded familiar, and she stood up and stepped back as she realized who the young man was, “The Alistair?  King Maric’s son? The Grey Warden who helped stop the Blight? That Alistair?”
He stood up and dusted the dirt from his pants.  “The one and only.” He grimaced as he attempted to straighten up his posture, massaging the place on his abdomen where Liss’ fist had fallen. “Maker, that hurt.  Who are you, anyway? Do you always go around attacking people?”
“I’m Elissa Cousland, and I’m so, so sorry,” she laughed nervously, bringing her hands to her face to hide the embarrassment.  “I just couldn’t sleep, so I came outside for a walk. I heard footsteps, and I thought- well… I don’t know what I thought.  It’s been a long year, and I’m a little on edge.”
“I’ll say,” he said pointedly, before flashing a grin, “I think it’s safe to say we’re all a little on edge, what with the war and the Blight.  Better to punch first, ask questions later, huh?”
“I suppose,” Liss answered, still laughing at herself, “Though it’s probably not the best way to make friends.”
I did not even realize that I’d accidentally rewritten a similar scene with different characters, under slightly different circumstances.  I get a HOOT out of rereading Hunger because there are so many anachronisms and so much telling instead of showing. I think I’ve also gotten better at taking a deep point of view and letting the character lead me rather than standing at a distance from the POV character.  I’m glad to see I enjoy having Alistair tackled by cagey women for a decade now.   This was fun.

🐙👀 (JK) What kind of spooktacular stories do you have in the works for October?
KJHDFHJSADFSDFH LISTEN LISTEN haha XD gosh...
Okay but like I have...several ideas for upcoming fics. Gonna attempt to bang out more coherent notes this weekend hopefully.
There is the uh... Dunwich Borer’s/Mysterious Stranger “arc”:
I’ve been back and forth on this fic for a while. Mostly cause do I want to do the descend into the mines from Echo’s POV or Nick’s POV? The stuff after will def be Echo’s POV, but I’m still on the fence of the mines themselves haha. I like def have to involve the mines mostly because of its part of what inspired one of Echo’s psyker ability!
I call it an arc mostly cause of like... Echo dealing with the sacrificial blade (aka Tooth) and potentially gaining the attention of an eldritch entity. But c’moooon the Stranger is totally just a teleporting psyker...right?  👀
Follow You Down ie the mansion fic:
END SQUAAAAD!!! Echo & Deacon (and the bestest boi Dogmeat) seek refuge from a nasty radstorm in an old, very much abandoned/uninhabited mansion. The duo run into Nick, who is on a case to track down some heirlooms for the Mortimer family. According to the family, place be cursed yo! Nick thought it’d be cause of radiation (cause that’s what cursed shit was long ago. folks got struck by radiation poisoning from “cursed objects”), yet his internal geiger counter is oddly quiet...even with the radstorm outside...
Ho man I keep pulling back and trying to trim down the uh...plot of this haha. Definitely will be a multi-chapter fic. Just gotta...uncomplicate it a bit cause WHOOPS! I wanna cram a bunch of stuff into this. This fic is super self indulgent XD Cause damn I love me some good spooky shit. Pulling a bit of inspo from Til Morning’s Light and referencing quiiiite a few classic lit books like Frankenstein; The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde; Lovecraftian stories; etc.
I’ll probably also have some other uh...shorter things in the works that’ll be a bit on the spooky side too ;3 heh heh

NEXT — the next line! :)
I started working on a new AU (I’m 50 AUs in a trenchcoat at this point, sorry not sorry) with Roz and Vincent where Vincent was proclaimed dead in the Exalted Plains and Roz went on to take his surname to get into Conclave and whoops. Also this is more than one line but  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
“You died!” The dam broke and Roz let herself be swept away by the waves; there was comfort in the emotion, even as it threatened to overwhelm and drown her with the force that followed. “You died and you can’t do that ever again!” Even as the tears streamed down her face, her mouth contorted into a snarling sob and her fingers dug into Vincent’s shoulder, it was followed swiftly by relief as he pulled her close, tucking her head against his shoulder, letting the storm rage until all felt calm again.

fic writer questions
oh dunk thank! @potatocrab
gonna taaaag: @allislaughter, @kineticallyanywhere, @phantoms-lair, @saintdeanthomas, @achamocha, @thestarjar, @gentlydetecting, @bigwinged, @luke-fone-fabre and THE PERSON READING THIS! IF YOU WANNA DO IT! HAVE AT THEE >:D
1. Do you have a preferred genre to write? Do you like to stay within the rough directions of the genre or do you like to mix and match?
hmmmm I mean like, what would constitutes as a genre? Fluff & Angst with some mild spooky/creepy tones? Yes. Dat me. Granted like the Fluff is more often and prominent but my god do I LOOOOOVE writing some spooky/paranormal shit. UGH my jam, bread, and peanut butter toast. It just depends on my mood tbh lol
2. Are you a writer that has a plot idea and then figures out what character(s) to use for that or are you more set on writing (a) specific character(s) and come up with a plot around them?
Typically its specific characters and SOMETIMES I have plot... but more often than not I like go “I want EMOTIONS TO HAPPEN DAMN IT!!!” Plot happens sometimes... honestly I have been writing more plot as of late, but like again the characters were pre-determined because uuuh that’s why I’m writing lol. I am very much a pantser with some vague ideas of plot, but things tend to go sideways if I try to plan too much shit lol (Brain gets tricked into thinking shit is done for one... Two: its dat adhd and focusing is hard lol)
3. 1st person, 2nd, 3rd, all knowing narrator or unreliable narrator and so many more choices - do you have a clear preference? Or different ones for different kinds of writing? Do you feel a certain pov works best with a certain setting and if yes, which one?
3rd person limited with a dash of unreliable narrator. I personally cannot stand 1st person...takes me a bit to dig into 1st person lol. Funny enough when I was oooo I wanna say like pre-teen time, I would swap POVs constantly without realizing I was? I had thoughts for all the characters involved and had no idea how POV worked other than “This is what this person is thinking.” And it apparently was like...a super natural flow that a few people have commented on how they loved it? Like...huh neat!
As I’ve gotten older, its sometimes hard for me to like...not swap POVs (it also depends on what I’m trying to convey in the fic) since I’m still in that mode of wanting to reveal everything and how much thought I put into it. The uuuuuh recent fic I’m working on (Rest & Rewind) I actually found a fun way to naturally swap POVs while still keeping it limited!
Hearing the thoughts and feelings of a character is...really fun and I’m glad I sorta finally figured out how to write it cause like 3rd person POV is my go-to. The limited and unreliable narrator is fun just cause like, you’re learning as the character is learning and progressing through the story.

About: Aerisif
Thanks so much for the tag, @curiousartemis! Loved learning more about Imryn-- a half drow half aasimar??? awesome!!!
Name: Aerisif
Alias: Kjolti Stone-Vein
Gender: Female
Age: My fics jump around and follow her through many stages of her life. She was born 4E 176, making her 25 in 4E 201, when Helgen fell.
Species: Nord (?)
Zodiac: aquarius / aries / cancer / capricorn / gemini / leo / libra / pisces / sagittarius / scorpio (Born under The Tower) / taurus / virgo / unknown
Abilities/Talents: Stealth is her main strength! As a thief, lock picking has always been a struggle for her, but nobody sneaks better than she does. Once she joins The Companions, she becomes talented with a greatsword, but she was a thief first and those skills don’t fade.
{𝑃𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙}
Alignment: lawful / neutral / chaotic / good / neutral / evil / true
Religion: None. Though she does end up collecting titles as Champion of various daedric princes.
Sins: envy / greed / gluttony / lust / pride / sloth / wrath
Virtues: charity / chastity / diligence / humility / justice / kindness / patience
Languages: Whatever the common tongue of Tamriel is. She learns draconic once she finds out she's dragonborn, slowly. Since she grew up in the Reach and Markarth, she’s pretty good at pronouncing Dwemer words, and knows a handful of them, but she can’t speak the language.
Family: Her mother was Kjolti, and her father was Gardimor. They loved the land and all that came from it, and took up the daunting profession of farming in the hospitable soils of The Reach. Both died in a strange Forsworn attack on the family farm when Aerisif was a child. Aerisif was spared since she was out foraging in the mountains at the time.
Friends: Yngvar, Brynjolf, Vex (its a very tense friendship), Delvin (he’s always had a soft spot for her), Aela, Farkas (though THAT shit got complicated), Lydia, Serana. She doesn’t do a great job of staying in touch, as she doesn’t really trust couriers. But when she chooses to build a friendship with someone, its the kind where they can go years without hearing from each other but when they meet its like no time has passed.
Sexual Orientation: heterosexual / bi-/pansexual / homosexual / demisexual / asexual / unsure / other
Relationship status: single / dating / married / widowed / open relationship / divorced / not ready for dating / it’s complicated - she and Brynjolf are committed to one another, 100%. But they don’t feel the need to get married, it wouldn’t change anything about their relationship.
Libido: sex god / very high / high / average / low / very low / non-existent
{𝑃ℎ𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙}
Build: twig / bony / slender / average - as a thief she was rather slender, but joining the Companions built her up a bit, sort of averaging out slender and athletic / athletic / curvy / chubby / obese

Eyes: brown / blue-gray / green / black / other - silver/gray
Skin: pale / fair / olive / light brown / brown / very brown / other
Height: 5′10″
Weight: ehhh...let’s say between 130-150?
Scars: Plenty. She has a prominent one across her torso from when Mercer Frey tried to kill her. There are numerous scars and burns from fighting dragons.
Facial Features: She has a striking complexion with her black hair and silver eyes. Her jawline and cheekbones are fairly average, giving structure to her face, but she isn’t bony and they aren’t prominent. Round human ears, fair skin. Doesn’t really wear make up unless its for a disguise.
Tattoos: You know, I hadn’t really thought about this until now but now that I am thinking about it she would absolutely get a dragon tattoo, a big one across her back or something.
{𝐶ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑠𝑒}
Dogs or Cats? Both!
Birds or Nugs? Birds
Snakes or Spiders? She isn’t afraid of either, but she has a distaste for snakes.
Red or Blue? Red! Its her favorite color.
Yellow or Green? Indifferent
Black or White? Black, she wears it a lot!
Coffee or Tea? Both?
Ice Cream or Cake? Sweetrolls?
Fruits or Vegetables? Both! She helped grow them on the farm as a kid.
Sandwich or Soup? Both, you dip the bread from the sandwich in the soup.
Magic or Melee? Melee
Sword or Bow? Sword
Summer or Winter? Summer. She tries to hide it, but for some reason the cold bothers her more than other Nords.
Spring or Autumn? Autumn! Its why she loves the Rift so much.
The Past or The Future? Definitely the past. Aerisif views the future dimly, sees only battles and heavy responsibility (the world is at stake, after all) ahead of her. The past hurts, Aerisif hasn’t had it easy, and sometimes the memories are too much for her and she makes some bad choices. But she would rather relive parts of the past than look ahead to her lonely future.

Mac x Ivy
Tumblr media
1. Who can outdrink the other?
Oh, definitely Mac.  They learnt that the first night they met, not that she was trying to keep up it’s just Ivy is a thorough lightweight.  He didn’t like questions, she can’t help but ask them, so the deal was one shot per question.  She is smol and cannot hold her booze.  Two centuries on ice and she seems to have lost some of the tolerance she built up in college.  Magnolia had to tell Mac to make sure she got to the Rexford ok.  Of course, en route she picked up multiple jobs and talked Fred into giving them 500 caps for going to Hallucigen.  Mac was gobsmacked, it was the beginning of a beautiful if unexpected friendship.
These days if you give her too much, you’ll find her sat on the floor in the corner of Railroad parties with Tinker Tom talking conspiracy theories.
2. Who says “i love you” more?
Probably Mac, but not because he loves more, but because he’s definitely the more vocal of the two of them.  Words are one of his main love languages.  Plus, he’s lost a partner before (which Ivy hasn’t) and there were things unsaid in that relationship that he’ll always regret, so he knows the importance of telling the people you love how you feel, and telling them often.  Ivy is more of a show than tell, even though she’s the type to fall first, she’s been hurt before by exactly that so she’s slower to use the words and breaks them out less often.  She shows she loves him through her actions.
3. Who has trouble sleeping alone?
Very much Ivy, not that Mac doesn’t to some degree, but this is a scary new world for Ivy and she feels very much safer having someone there.  She was a wreck when he was away in the Capital Wasteland and really struggled to sleep at all.  She is more likely to not be able to get to sleep if she’s alone.  Mac is more likely to have a disturbed night, waking up feeling an absence.
4. Who swears more?
Ivy.  She may look sweet but she really can have a foul mouth.  She will basically swear for Mac as well.  He’ll cut himself off and she’ll fill in the blank.  She resists the urge, or at least desperately tries to pick other words at the last second when the kids are about.  It doesn’t always work well.
5. Who does more of the housework?
It’s shared.  Ivy makes more mess though, she’s clean but untidy.  She seems accumulate way more stuff than Mac does, and boy does she spread it around the house.  She’s also very distractible, so he can get back and find a half-risen loaf in the kitchen, which she’ll have left, having had a thought about something she wanted to draw while it was still in her mind.  So, the sketchbooks are out in the living room, but then she’ll see a sketch of Mac and remember she was going to fix the arm on his duster again.  And so on and so forth.  Mac isn’t without guilt, there are always comics on various surfaces, left open (taking up maximum room) to show Ivy or the boys the best bits.  If Codsworth had lungs, he’d hyperventilate.  She will tidy up after herself though, when she realises she’s left everything all over.  I mean, nobody wants to hear a Mr Handy cry pre-recorded tears.
6. Who forgets their anniversary?
They don’t technically have an anniversary, actually getting together was a bit of a messy and protracted process.  The easiest date to remember is Halloween when they first met in Goodneighbour.  Maybe one day they’ll have an official anniversary for something else, but for now.
7. Who steals the duvet in their sleep?
Sometimes they can have a bit of blanket tug of war going on depending on who got into bed first.  Ivy was nesh even before the war, but two hundred years on ice has done her no favours.  She gets criminally cold hands and feet.  If they were just sharing a bed before they got together, Ivy would 100% steal that duvet, but these days she just wraps around her mercenary and they sleep like a little two person blanket burrito.
8. Who keeps the other awake at night with their snoring?
Neither keeps the other awake.  Mac is the one who snores, but they are little damn kitten snores, like his sneezes.  If anything is going to keep Ivy awake, it’s him falling asleep first and her just silently going “awwwwww” at her adorable boyfriend.
9. Who finds stray animals and begs the other to let them keep them?
This is totally Ivy and cats.  They have dogmeat of course, but he’s his own man and he’s always welcome with them, but he’s not really theirs.  Ivy love cats, she will sneak off to play with settlement cats when she should be doing far more minutemen type activities.  They are definitely slowly accumulating cats at their most regularly visited settlements.
10. Who usually makes dinner?
Ivy enjoys cooking most out of the two of them, and she’s rather good at it.  Getting better all the time as well since her and Codsworth are doing their best to remember and collect pre-war recipes, or at least work out how to make equivalents.  Mac is a reasonable cook, but over the years he’s generally been happy to exist on pre-war ‘just add water’ kind of food, rather than cooking from scratch, which is definitely Ivy’s jurisdiction.  But if she’s cooking, and if he can persuade Codsworth to leave them to it, he loves to cook with Ivy.  Even more so when the kids want to get involves too.
11. Who plays their music out loud?
Oh god, they both do.  The pipboy radio is always going.  Turning it right up and singing along is almost mandatory. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you might catch Ivy playing the guitar or the piano and singing.  She’s usually shy about it, but she’s good.  She’s performed once at The Third Rail as a birthday present.
12. Who hogs the bathroom?
Given the opportunity of a hot shower in Vault 81, you will lose Ivy for so long you’d think she’d drowned.  Drenching herself in enough scolding hot water to supply a minor settlement, truly is the most self-indulgent of self-care.  Mac isn’t the biggest fan but he can be persuaded.  The only time he’ll hog the bathroom is when it’s time to keep that goatee in tiptop condition.  He’s very particular about it.
13. Who gives the most compliments?
Like with saying ‘I love you’ most, Mac is definitely the one who lays on the compliments.  He learned early on that Ivy isn’t used to being complimented like that, or at least, it’s been a very long time since she was treated that way.  He’s almost made it a personal mission to set that right.  How easily she blushes at them is just an added bonus.
14. Who usually starts/causes arguments between them?
They aren’t an argumentative couple, from past experience, Ivy does not cope well with that kind of confrontation within a relationship.  They are more likely to snark if something has annoyed them, but are actually really good at reading each other’s body language for when something they’ve done has upset the other.  But if it comes down to it, Mac is more likely to be the one to get into a more heated discussion about something that’s upset him.  Ivy is the one to calm a situation.  The only time they’ve had an actual stand up row was during Blind Betrayal.
15. Who isn’t afraid to embarrass the other in public?
They aren’t afraid of a bit of public bantering, and will definitely play up for an audience if they’re in the right mood.  Ivy is a little more inclined to publicly tease Mac in one way or another, but that might be more because Mac suspects she can deal it out better than she can take it, rather than her being the more equipped to do it.  Although when it comes to quietly flustering her in public, that is very much Mac’s jurisdiction.
16. Who gives the other cringeworthy pet names?
There’s a definite teasing edge to most of the nicknames they call each other, they’re both more comfortable with being called them when there isn’t too big of an audience around.  But I guess Mac would be more embarrassed by Ivy’s habit of calling him anything beginning with ‘sweet’ – it’s not good for his tough mercenary image, you know.  Mac doesn’t care who hears him call Ivy ‘angel’, he’s being calling her it for so long (way longer than they’ve been together) but he might draw the line at shouting ‘kitten’ across Diamond City marketplace.  Most other names they call each other are more along the lines of compliments or abbreviations of their names.
17. Who fusses over the other when they get sick?
Ivy is definitely the more diligent medic, and a very well qualified worrier.  So when Mac is hurt, she’s all over that, and he regularly jokes that she carries enough gear to set up a small field hospital with her at all times.  Not that that habit hasn’t saved their asses on multiple occasions.  Mac is more likely to get genuinely scared if Ivy is badly hurt or sick because of past experience.  When it comes to just being a little bit poorly, Mac will milk it like an absolute drama queen.  Ivy is a soft touch and will let him.  But she’s also very good at telling when he’s better and is just looking for extra attention.  She’ll make up ‘treatments’ to see if he’ll keep up the charade and how committed he is to being waited on hand and foot.
18. Who finds it impossible to stay angry at the other for long?
For a guy who can mature a grudge like a fine wine, Mac has never ever been able to stay mad at Ivy.  Not even in those early days when she was ‘useless’ and they barely knew each other.  Mac melts at those big brown eyes, even if he tries to keep the frowns on the surface, all the anger goes in an instant.  It’s rare for her to get angry at him, but if the hurt is real then she can hang onto it until he’s shown that he’s earned back her trust.  It took him a while to win her back after coming back from the Capital Wasteland having not sent word at all since he left.
19. Who clings to the other for comfort when they’re sad or scared?
Ivy would be the first to cling to Mac when she’s scared, in fact she was, after very early close call.  That experience rather reinforced Mac as a safe place for her, bearing in mind she’s known him from just a week after escaping the vault, he’s definitely been a grounding presence for her.  When something is wrong, the first place she will seek comfort is in his arms, even from long before they were together.  Mac doesn’t break down until they’ve known each other for a lot longer, but he feels safe enough by then being that vulnerable with Ivy – it’s difficult because he has always had a habit of putting himself in a protector role in so many of his relationship with people that allowing himself to be seen as scared or even sad is difficult for him.  But once those floodgates are open, nothing would stop him from seeking comfort from her, even when things are awkward between them.

20. Who is more ‘physically passionate’? (hugs, kisses, or maybe more…)
When it comes to big public displays, it would probably be Mac (not in the early days though, he was definitely more private then) but he likes it known that they’re together – especially to that one dude from diamond city security who keeps hitting on her.  Ivy is more for subtle displays in public; holding hands, cheek kisses etc.  Although there was one incident…anyway.  Privately they are equally likely to be all over each other.
