i. chappel roan, "the rise and fall of a midwest princess" — ALBUM of the YEAR. to me. i know it came out last year but still. no skips, love her and this album so so dearly. i need it on vinyl stat. inject that shit into my veins etc. current faves: guilty pleasure and super graphic ultra modern girl, but i did also recently listen to california for like a week non-stop

ii. ethel cain, "preacher's daughter" — again i'm LATE to this one, but as far as concept albums go, this is. the peak. like just. screaming crying throwing up, even. i made a powerpoint presentation abt this just so i could share its story with a friend. INSANITY. faves: american teenager, ptolemaea, sun bleached flies (i forgive it all as it comes back to me............. kill me)

iii. taylor swift, "tortured poets department" — i went to the eras tour earlier this month. speechless! wow. i still haven't recovered OR finished listening to all of anthology but i sure have been blasting who's afraid of little old me and but daddy i love him

iv. metteson, "look to a star" — actual album of the year for me. saw him live this spring and he was so so sweet (was manning his own merch booth afterwards and complimented my make up <3 also signed my vinyl) ANYWAY insane voice? like simply unbelievably beautiful. and this is just the debut album??? future records might simply eviscerate me i'm afraid. faves are second heart (!!!), naturally (but nothing comes natural to me / nothing comes naturally...... augh) and heavier than a heart

v. pet shop boys, "nonetheless" — breaking news my favourite old gay men are still releasing bops and bangers and heartbreaking melodies. this released close-ish to my birthday so i've claimed it as a birthday present. what more can i say, they're my favourite band of all time <3 faves rn: new london boy (skinheads will mock you, call you a fag / last laugh is yours, there's a brick in your bag!!) and bullet for narcissus

vi. orville peck, "stampede: vol. 1" — i adore this cowboy beyond measure. as i think i said in a different post, i don't usually care for features and duets, but this does indeed fucking slap. insane vocals as per usual. love the concept. can't wait for vol 2, and also, mr. peck PLEASE come to europe. faves: miénteme and cowboys are frequently secretly fond of each other <3

vii. sea power, "disco elysium" — this is FINALLY on spotify!!! the game of all time, and the soundtrack is equally heartbreaking and hardcore (to the mega). i was going Through It at some point this spring and replayed DE and then just listened to burn baby burn outside whilst smoking. european depression core. faves rn: burn baby burn, saint-brune 1147 (small pinewood church) and precinct 41 major crime unit

viii. jan valta + adam sporka, "kingdom come: deliverance (OST)" — finally bought this recently when it was on sale and my god i'm so glad i did. an immensely entertaining game that you can tell was made with much love. henry of skalitz my SON. been listening to the soundtrack on/off, currently absolutely obsessed with the song poverty and famine (and särmä if you're reading i think you might vibe with this one?)

ix. alkemie, "pentiment (original soundtrack)" — rounding up with another video game soundtrack because i'll simply never get over pentiment. stole my heart in a major way. this soundtrack is STUNNING. can't do it justice with words. my faves rn: sic arsit historia kiersis and rüdeger's rehearsal

a few months ago (january), i made a playlist on Spotify and add many songs, and when i look at my search, the app had deleted all the playlists i had left there (since i don't like to like many playlists), had one in specific that literally had no name (a blank space), so was impossible to find it! so i thought that i really wanted to manifest this playlist to appear again, then i remembered another playlist that had been deleted/private. i kept manifesting/thinking abt (only when i wanted 'n remembered) to these playlists! in march i had no hope, but tried to search for the old name of the playlist before the author removed the name and BOOM! there was the good old playlist <3 and now, in april [6/04 actually], i searched for the name of the other playlist and found it! im soooo happy :3 thank u honey for all those posts, u're amazing! ♡♡ [sorry for the bad english + long ask]

soooo in my brain i’ve actually always been a bit older than jason (like 2ish something years maybe….?) and being around him as one of his “older brother’s” friends who like actually went out of their way to befriend him i deffo think he woulda had like an innocent little crush on me lol but he was also one of the only friends i had left post-breakup since so many of my friends were friends with roy first. so like, we had our own relationship established outside of me being roy’s gf pre-death and then post-death he specifically sought me out to see what/how i was doing bc i had kinda fallen off the face of the earth. we were on thin ice those first couple of months but we powered through and were able to be friends again even though nothing would ever really be the same.

and actually as it stands rn jason n i are in fact not together (devastating for all parties involved but we’re in this will-they-won’t-they vibe rn… we’ll get there) but it has less to do with me n roy being exes (he doesn’t not care about that, but roy and i have both made it explicitly clear that dating each other again is not something either of us is interested in, we hookup purely out of convenience which isn’t particularly sexy or romantic)(and in fact in current time in the #lore, roy n i haven’t hooked up in close to a year bc the last time we did i moaned jason’s name…… roy’s ego was a little bruised but he mostly found it funny and i’ve just been too embarrassed since) and more to do with neither of us feeling like we have the right footing to take it to the next step.

Im writing a script for a (kinda long) short film and I am desperately searching for music that is anywhere near the tone of the script but unfortunately YouTube and even spotify don't know how to sort genres correctly (fuckin bonkers. What do you mean THE MUSIC APP doesn't know how any genres and doesn't know how to put together playlists that are what they say they are!!!)

The general idea of the script is that we're watching a kid grow up (starting at abt 5, kindergarten age) until they're about 18 (not sure about that, might have it end a couple years after, I'll get to it). It's going to be a bunch of snapshots of this kid's life as they grow up, put into sections marked by birthdays! It's (planned to be) filmed in a very home made way, as if a parent is recording these snapshots of their kid so they can all look back on it later.

The general tone is gonna be happy, there will be some sad parts in the actual film but those aren't the main point. Any of me talking abt making the viewers sad is more "make them sad bc they're seeing this life go by so fast". Like how people (me) cry at slideshows of random moments in a kids life leading up to a big event...

Ahem, page break bc the actual point of this post is going to be long. Below the break is the list of music I'm looking for!! (Doesn't need to be copyright free, I'm mostly looking for inspiration music rn)

SO, I'm looking for music to fit a few vibes, im probably gonna make different playlists in general, but here are The Needs

General note: (I'd prefer songs with an "indie" vibe -- meaning songs without big technical instruments like synths or electric guitar riffs lol, I don't think any pop or metal type music would fit here)

- anti-folk (excluding folk-punk. A little confusing sorry! Think of the Juno soundtrack or most of kimya dawson. It's really that bright and happy, vibrant sounding music that I need)

- folk (general, soft guitar and no harsh vocals, famous songs are good too! Something that ppl would feel like they know even if they don't. Nostalgia country... Think "time in a bottle" - Jim Croce. I need that down to earth, slow and chill music yk?)

- folk-rock (are you seeing a pattern?) (Also idk if this is the right term, for this I mean music like The Lumineers, Vance Joy, the kind of music you'd hear on the radio around 2010-2016 but NON EXPLICIT) (there is a concerning amount of music we listened to as kids that was just. Just about sex. Wack)

- kids music! (By this I mean specific recordings of nostalgic kids songs, not just nursery rhymes tho! This is the real "devastate the viewers" music. My example for this is "little bird little bird" by Elizabeth Mitchell, though I'd like any kind of recorded kids songs! Double points if there's a kid singing in them.)

+ I want to say classical but I don't know how to explain the kind I'm looking for? Something that you could listen to while reading a book in a field???

+ generally calm or chill music! Piano, guitar, harmonica, and soft vocals.

John Doe Headcanons pt2

Aight sooo I've ben stalking looking at the twitter acc of Doe's creator aannnd got new info which debunks my previous post. Because I'm a sucker for accuracy here's a new headcanon/imagine thingy

He would probably be kind of pet like when he's in his all lovey dovey form once you're dating or more romantically involved (got that vibe from the Dream ending he looked like a cute lil pup there)

He would take care of you very gently. Having learned from his past mistakes in previous loops he will more likely know how you wish to be treated and what your no-gos are. Plus he specifically said he can be whatever You want. I feel like he would sit down with you to learn more just so he can make everything perfect

Tying in with the previous point I think he's a complete perfectionist when it comes to your relationship. He wants you to adore him as much as he does and-most importantly-feel comfortable! So you can expect him observing you carefully, trying to match you perfectly without changing too much (as you still love him for him but it's cute how he tries to adapt to your behaviour in order to make the relationship work out)

Talking to my depressed folks or others incapable of taking care of themselves-he got you. First of all he doesn't (obviously) bother if you haven't showered regularly or can't keep up with cleaning in general-he doesn't either. But I feel like he will try to cheer you up and be a goddamn... Whatever he is-blessing. Although he hates baths or being clean he would bathe with you and shower you in love in an attempt to make you feel better. I feel like he would also feed you or gently push you to do something that wouldn't be out of your comfort zone.

He will reassure you that you're beautiful the way you are whenever you feel insecure. Bodily "flaws"? Nah. Smell/Sweat? He likes it. Personality "flaws"? He'll help you through it. In his eyes you're a beauty (not only in his though, be confident bestie<3) that needs to be cherished

Okay- the way I literally went through each of my mutuals accounts so I could pick out little things I like about the ones I don't know super well is a little wild. I just wanted to find specifics for everyone (including the ones I don't talk to)

This turned out as less my favorite*thing* about each mutual and just me writing out a genuine compliment to each mutual. Hope y'all don't mind😅😅😅

@wandanatfluff - I have never actually talked to you but Hello!- I specifically love your fic 'I Love You' it broke me for a minute and your use of lyrics for both Photograph ( Ed Sheeran) and Secret Love Song (Little Mix) made me cry. It was beautifully written and so are your other fics.

@lostandsearching - First things first- your drunk drabbles had me in tears. Second- Your drunk love taps make my day even if I don't get them, they pop up on my feed and I immediately giggle a little but I also get worried cause I know how reckless my irl friends are when they drink- please be safe!!

@astupidworkinprogress - I've also never really interacted with you either so Hi! Your Masterlist is absolutely beautifully done and I love everything about it. hanging out during gym class

and sitting at the same lunch table

so yeah needless to say you thought he was a little,, endearing

it only made it worse when he was walking you home

one day in gym
