Detangle - Julien Baker x fem!crew!reader

Synopsis: Julien's gf helps her get unready after BG's Halloween show at the Hollywood Bowl :') (jesus!julien x crew!reader)

G's notes: gf is lowkey a costume designer? she's crew, but I'm putting her on the same part of the team as makeup artist! also thank you guys for being patient, if only you could see my WIP in google docs rn....

There are very few things that could tear your eyes away from watching your girlfriend headbang onstage while dressed as Jesus. In fact, the entire thing feels like a fever dream. From sourcing the angel costumes for the band, hand-bedazzling Lucy's jacket, sewing Phoebe's veil, and then soundcheck, the lead-up to the Halloween show has felt like a whirlwind.

You're entirely unfocused, eyes parading down Julien's body, only half listening to the cues for an outfit change. "Here," your assistant says softly, eyes sparkling while watching the stage in admiration. She's handing you the boys' original jackets in order of who comes off stage first. You smile at her, grateful she's paying attention while you ogle the somewhat sacrilegious display onstage.

It's within minutes everyone is rushing off to side stage, clothes flying everywhere. Lucy is undoubtedly the easiest to change, so you work with her quickly, carefully adjusting her halo on her head before switching out her white suit jacket for Julien's original jacket. "Thank you," she whispers, kissing your cheek lightly before dashing off, Julien appearing in front of you.

"Hi pretty girl," she says out of breath, leaning in to kiss your lips quickly, already stripping off her robes.

"Jay, leave them on...no don't do that, your hair!" you excalim, Julien obviously was not listening to you earlier when you were standing between her legs bobby-pinning the crown to her hair. "Sorry, sorry-I" Julien stammers as you help her readjust the robes on her shoulders, sliding Phoebe's original jacket over her, "It's okay, you having fun?" you ask with a big smile, kissing her gently.

"The best time ever, I love you," Julien mumbles agaisnt your lips, kissign you once more on your cheek before winking and heading back out.

Your assistant is rushing Phoebe back onto the stage when you both stand beside each other, taking a deep breath before watching the rest of the show. It goes by in a blink. Before you know it, everyone is filing off stage, much slower this time. Julien, Lucy, and Phoebe walk off holding hands, doing a quick but tender group hug right off-stage before they separate, and Julien comes bounding over to you, immediately scooping you up and spinning you around. "How was it?" she asks, mouth already attached to your neck. You can't help but giggle, holding her head as she finally puts you back on the ground. "It was amazing, as always," you say.

"Oh god," you say, looking at her hair, your fingers assessing how tangled the crown is in her hair. "Not God, just me...actually, I'm the son of God," Julien says, eyes wide in a cocky smirk, holding out her arms.

"You're so..." you start, moving Julien further backstage and into the room where y'all got ready. "Sexy? Intelligent? Holy?" Julien rattles off, wiggling her eyebrows as she walks backward, trusting you to walk her in the right direction. "I was going to say ridiculous, but the first two definitely," you smile, eyes twinkling. "Not so much the third one," you giggle. "Oh, why's that?" Julien smirks, sitting in the hair chair in the empty "glam" room. "I don't think it's holy to dress up as Jesus," you start to say, Julien looking up at you with wide, almost glassy eyes, a look common post-show. "And your underwear," you snort. "What about my underwear? It says for God's eyes only," Julien goads, leaning back in the chair, watching you grab a comb and some detangler. "God wasn't the only one looking," you smirk, standing between her legs. "No, he was not," Julien groans, holding onto your hips, "You did a lot more than look," Julien mumbles, smile widening.

"Don't get all worked up," you murmur, smirking, starting to detangle her hair, pulling one piece that was particularly tangled when she all but squeals. "Ow, babe," she exclaims, eyebrows furrowed and eyes narrowed as she leans back a pace, staring at you offended.

"What?"

"That shit hurts!"

"Well, maybe if you didn't headbang so hard, your hair wouldn't be intertwined with your crown right now," you scold softly.

She grumbles, letting you get about 75% of the crown out of her hair before she's whining again. "You're tugging too hard, princess, my neck hurts."

"Me tugging isn't making your neck hurt, seriously Jules, you headbang so hard on stage, and I'm scared you're gonna get whiplash."

"Can't help that I'm a rockstar," she mumbles, finding your eyes before rolling them teasingly before hissing when you pull a chunk of hair.

"Stay still," you giggle, kissing her nose softly. Within 5 minutes, the rest of the crown is out, and you're handing it to Julien so she can keep it. "C'mon, we can pack up and get you unready at the house. Sounds like backstage is filling up," you comment. You can hear the voices of the various friends and peers who came to see the show down the hallway.

"Thanks, angel," Julien whispers, smirking softly as she uses the pet name, hopping off the chair and pulling you into her arms, dipping you ever so slightly to press a passionate kiss to your lips. "Vacation time starts now," she whispers teasingly, her hands in the back pockets of your pants, squeezing gently.

sheesh, your secrets post reminded me about this series of events that happened to me some years ago. i’ve probs never told this whole story but here goes:

so i was in this situationship with a guy and only two of my (then) best friends knew about it. one of my best friends became part of the same friend group that my situationship was from (i’d introduced her to that group and she did it behind my back. i did not care about that tho).

what i did not also know was that the guy i was seeing had a long distance girlfriend and i was ”the other woman”. the whole friend group knew about it, including my best friend and no one told me.

my situationship went to shit because i had a feeling that something was off and the guy kept giving major redflag vibes. couple of months after i found through facebook (lol) that my former situationship had had this gf behind my back and i decided to tell the gf because i was absolutely mortified. told my best friend that i was gonna do it and she went behind my back to tell the gf about me. obvi the gf blocked me before i could contact her and i was confused af. my best friend just told be that it must be that my ex-situationship must’ve come clean to her with his version of events or some shit.

time went on and i drifted off from my best friend because she was acting off all the time + started to date one guy from the friendgroup who she’d been trying to impress. suddenly she didn’t have anytime to even text me bc she was 24/7 with the guy. decided that if she is happy, then it’s all okay. also i should have realised what was going on when i saw pics of my former bff and ex-situationships gf on social media but i’d already moved on in my life.

year and a half later my ex-situationship wanted to talk to me. his guilt was eating him and he told me that my former bff had known about the relationship whole time and after having a talk with my ex-situationship had agreed to keep it all from me. when i’d later found about the relationship and told my former bff that i was gonna go talk to the gf, she’d gone straight to my ex-situationship and promised to support him in any version of story he wanted to tell the gf.

i obviously did not believe my ex at all. told him that he’s just trying to get back to my good graces but then came the proof. he had messages, voice memos, everything.. he also told me that he and his gf were not on talking terms with my ex bff and his bf anymore and showed proof.

told him thanks for telling but that it really doesn’t matter anymore, saved all of the messages and stuff but also told him that i’d found out later on that he was a serial cheater (from an external source) and that i want nothing to do with him. i knew he was just trying to absolve some guilt he had and i was just means to an end.

the big secret is that i never confronted my former bff about it, so she does not know that i know what she did for months behind my back just because she wanted to date my ex’s bff.

she contacts me in once a 3-6 months asking how i am and that she misses me. we talk some but we have not seen each other in like over 4 years.

i've tried a couple of times to start writing this post sooner and each time i've just stared at the blank grey space and just closed the text editor. and now it's mid-june. lol how has it been 2 months already since i posted this fic. but i will write this up since i do want to talk about it, belatedly, and it was born out of an au by a friend that i really had a lot of fun coming up with inspired by the lovely art.

concept

obviously this is all thanks to dave @penaltyboxboxbox. i distinctly remember looking at the piece and going 'WOW so cool! how would that work.' i moved along and went back to life. and then a week later i saw it reblogged again on the dash and got slapped in the face by the question. literally how would that work. how would it happen. i love canon divergence sooooo much btw even though i was worried about having to change the year in dave's work from 2017 to 2018 because lol, the fucking research threw me a curveball.

thought that this was going to be fernando pov because to upend and change his ferrari era from loser to championship winner with the red team, would be cool. and then i figured it couldn't work because i already knew what i wanted to happen anyway with him in the fic - that he'd retire after the championships, after ferrari just cannot keep up with the evolving changes in the sport over the years compared to their stronger contenders. retirement is all so anti-climactic and a given, so what the hell would even be interesting there lmao. it would feel like a weird fix-it and i have never done a fix-it fic in my life. let flaws be flaws etc.

so then i started writing this in lance pov, and told myself that this would just be me exploring how would lance be like in a team without his father's direct influence and hold. i say direct, because i'm always reminded of the rumours that lawrence funded some part of fernando's career as well while he was in ferrari, but don't quote me on that those are just (believable and unsurprising) rumours.

process

started writing this early january. and then i did not touch the wip at all or write anything for about 3 weeks in february?? i spent so long just casually trawling for research in between writing the first few scenes because i had not figured out what would be the conflict yet. i asked a couple of friends to read over some of what i had, just to help me point out any blind spots. sometimes i still can't tell how my tone comes off in early draft stages. i kind of knew what i wanted to do with it, i just didn't know yet how to execute it.

thing that never fails to surprise me about writing is that whatever i think would be so fun and exciting to do would STILL turn out to be excruciating and difficult on some days. i think i've made about 6 versions of the draft. i love research and i LOVED that this gave me an opportunity to dig into more things, but at some point, the research felt like too much, but i managed to spread it out in a digestible way in the story. it's challenging to glean what you can from actual canon to use in a fic without it sounding trite or boring, like some mechanical retelling.

ANYWAY. by the time i'd written the 2016 party scene where lance and his gf were eavesdropping on fernando having sex with not-linda, i still had no fucking idea what a good narrative here would be. i was distracting myself by making the playlist, and choosing to just move around parts of the wip here and there in the doc aimlessly just to see some things and hope that i'd figure it out. to put it simply: fernando wins a few championships (stared at some of the details in dave's art, and got tickled at the cards and their numbers) then retires. ok. and lance would eventually move on from ferrari, which he will at some point if they don't give his seat to someone else, but he'd have his father to fall back on so ok. how boring.

and then i realized, hold on, that SUCKS actually. that would kind of be a huge fucking bummer if you were already finally living out a childhood dream with the team almost every racing driver dreamt of. huge bummer when your big fat crush retires as well after a harrowing but magical year of finally getting the validation you wanted.

there's something devastating about how quickly athletes are forced to grow up, and with lance, the issue is both obvious but also it's complicated. it's not as if he doesn't possess any autonomy to make his own decisions, but there's a certain agency you're not entirely granted with when you do something with a parent, no matter how loving and giving that parent is to you. lance is like...the schrodinger's cat of an adult but i could say the same about all of these men and people born into wealthy privilege, or people who could never just bear to cut off their parents, to some extent. of course it's fernando who has to tell lance this in the story: "I will tell you something your father won't. You are upset because you know now what it feels like, to have people support you and your racing ability without him."

also something really devastating about how family is just a self-fulfilling prophecy. i love that word, self-fulfilling. i think it's tragic and i do think everything about ferrari is tragicomedy so it goes hand in hand.

this is why i also think andrea stella and fernando's driver-engineer relationship is compelling: fernando has everything he should have to win, except the one thing they can't grant him. but he thinks he should be grateful to be in the team, and he's teetered back and forth between demanding everything he should have and not wanting to fuck things up when he's fighting for championships, so he clings on to the belief that ferrari seems to carry, that ferrari makes you feel, and you can hear the trust in andrea stella's radio messages to fernando that i (and plenty of others) believed was kind and steady and almost nurturing to fernando in getting the most of the car and helping to fine-tune his strengths as a driver amidst the pressure. you can't truly say that luca baldisserri following lance to williams after the fda was even close to a similar parallel done entirely out of devotion, but i'd like to think it was duty, on luca's part. plus, if engineering young racers' wins in junior series gets you a nice salary from their dads, why not.

writing and getting to share the research and lore i gathered in this post. first time actually trying to put something like this together, and it was so fun... i love putting in my little captions under photos and adding in sources.

Lance stops idly rolling the pen he's been holding, a habit he'd gained from writing the confidence mantra they'd made him do at the academy. "Well. Can't beat a dead horse." "Beat, what?" "Luca was done here," says Lance, shifting in his seat. "So I'm saying that it's pointless because uh, the horse is dead and you can't like, get it to move." He makes a whipping motion with his hand.

As a teenager, Fernando had Ayrton Senna's picture stuck on the inside of his closet above his racing gear. For all of Lance's responses to the obligatory interview question that asked who his favourite driver was, he never had Fernando's picture up in his bedroom. Didn't exactly need it when Fernando's been around for years now, coming and going at Dad's invitations in the warmest season like object permanence developed through red-toned photos of a memory.

i love the theory of object permanence so much btw!! just saying.

writing anything new lately has been um...well. i thought i could do it again last week, but it turns out i'm still not fully back into it yet. and that's fine. i signed up for a fest (non-motorsport fandom) so...pray that it will help me kill the fears. guess i'll also go back to my attempts for other fic ideas, we will get through this. i'm trying to write more intentionally, less reactionary, so i guess if that means putting out less things then this is positive at least. hope i have fun along the way is all!

The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting a tranquil twilight over the bustling city of Seoul. Inside the cosy TWICE dorm, the members were gathered in the living room, exchanging playful banter and laughter, a rare moment of respite in their busy schedules. It was a special evening, for it marked the first time that Tiffany, a member of Girls' Generation, was staying overnight at the dorm. Y/N, the tenth and youngest member of TWICE, had been dating Tiffany for a while now, and the two had finally decided to take this significant step in their relationship.

As the night grew darker, the maknae's boundless energy showed no sign of weakening. She darted around the room, giggling and causing a delightful ruckus. Her playful antics earned her chuckles from the TWICE members and an affectionate eye-roll from Tiffany.

Jihyo, the group's leader, exchanged a knowing glance with the other members. It was time to put Tiffany to the test, to see how she handled Y/N's occasional bursts of mischief and rampant energy.

Jihyo - Nayeon unnie, you're up first *whispering while nudging the eldest girl*

Nayeon cleared her throat and called out. 

Nayeon - Y/N, sweetie, come here for a moment.

The younger girl's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she bounded over to Nayeon. 

Y/N - What is it, unnie?

Nayeon put on her most convincing pout and spoke again. 

Nayeon - Hon, I'm feeling a bit tired. Do you think you could sing me a lullaby to help me fall asleep?

Y/N's face lit up with excitement. 

Y/N - Of course, unnie! I'll sing you the best lullaby ever!

As TWICE's sunshine began to sing an adorably off-key rendition of a children's lullaby, Tiffany couldn't help but giggle. Nayeon gave a thumbs-up to signal the success of the first test.

Next up was Momo, known for her playful nature. She decided to challenge Tiffany in a game of hide-and-seek with her little sister. 

Momo - Hey, darling, want to play a game with me and Tiffany unnie?

Y/N's eyes gleamed with excitement. 

Y/N - Sure, unnie! What are we playing?

Momo explained the rules, and soon the living room turned into a makeshift hide-and-seek arena. TWICE's little storm (lol) dashed around the room, giggling, while Tiffany pretended to search for her. Momo winked at the other members, impressed by Tiffany's ability to engage in the game with enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Dahyun took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with Tiffany. 

Dahyun - So, Tiffany unnie, how are you finding it so far?

Tiffany smiled warmly, watching her girl's antics. 

Tiffany - Honestly, it's a lot of fun. Y/N is a bundle of energy, but I love it cause she keeps me on my toes.

Dahyun - That's good to hear. Just remember, we're always here to help if you need it. *nodding*

As the night wore on, the members continued to test Tiffany's patience and adaptability. Chaeyoung asked for her help with a challenging art project, and Sana enlisted her assistance in baking cookies. Tiffany handled each task with grace and a warm smile, endearing herself to the TWICE members even more.

As the night progressed, Y/N's energy finally began to weaken. She settled down on the couch, her eyelids growing heavy. Tiffany joined her, wrapping an arm around her as they watched a movie together.

The other members discreetly retreated to their rooms, leaving Tiffany and Y/N in the living room. They had passed their tests with flying colours, and it was clear that Tiffany had won the hearts of the TWICE members.

As the movie came to an end, Y/N yawned and snuggled closer to Tiffany. 

Y/N - Unnie, I'm sleepy.

Tiffany smiled down at her. 

Tiffany - Alright, sweetheart. Let's get you to bed.

With gentle guidance, Tiffany led TWICE's babygirl to her room and tucked her into bed. Her eyes were drooping, but before drifting off to sleep, she whispered: I love you, Tiffy.

Tiffany's heart melted at the affectionate nickname. She leaned down and placed a soft kiss on Y/N's forehead. 

Tiffany - I love you too, my little energy ball.

As Tiffany turned off the lights and closed the door, she couldn't help but reflect on the incredible bond she had with Y/N and the TWICE members. They were a family, and she was grateful to be a part of it. In that quiet moment, she knew that her relationship with Y/N was something truly special, something worth cherishing forever.

The next morning, the sun bathed the city of Seoul in a warm, golden glow. Inside the TWICE dorm, the members were bustling about, getting ready for the day ahead. Y/N had just woken up, and her energy levels seemed to have already reached peak capacity. She bounced around the room, playfully causing chaos with her mischievous antics.

Tiffany, who had stayed overnight at the dorm for the first time, watched Y/N with a mixture of amusement and awe. She couldn't help but chuckle at the youngest's boundless energy, but she also knew that things could change in an instant. Y/N had a reputation for occasionally throwing a tantrum when she didn't get her way.

As the morning progressed, Y/N's behaviour became progressively more naughty. She rearranged items in the living room, spilt a glass of juice, and even tried to steal Mina's snacks. Tiffany observed quietly, knowing that she had to be prepared for what might come next.

Jihyo, the group's leader and the unofficial mother of Y/N, noticed the mischievous glint in her child's eyes. She exchanged a knowing glance with the other members and decided it was time to offer Tiffany some guidance.

She approached Tiffany with a knowing smile. 

Jihyo - Tiffany unnie, Y/N is my kid and I know she's hard to deal with but if she's like today, treat her with lots of care, okay?

Tiffany smiled, grateful for the sudden advice. 

Tiffany - Of course, Jihyo. Thank you! 

As the morning wore on, Y/N's mischief escalated. She pulled pranks on Jeongyeon, hid Sana's favourite snacks, and even tried to escape with Chaeyoung's art supplies. But Tiffany handled each situation with a patient smile and a gentle reprimand, never losing her cool.

Finally, it was Jihyo's turn to help Tiffany navigate a Y/N tantrum. She approached her baby, who had just discovered her playful tricks were no longer working on Tiffany.

Jihyo - Y/N, sweetheart...

Jihyo began speaking, pretending to be distressed.

Jihyo - I'm really tired. Could you please be a bit quieter?

Y/N, who had been about to pull another prank, froze mid-action. She looked at Jihyo with wide eyes, her playful demeanour instantly shifting to concern. 

Y/N - Oh, mama, I'm so sorry if I was being too loud. I'll be quiet, I promise.

Jihyo smiled and ruffled Y/N's hair affectionately with a motherly smile on her face. 

Jihyo - Thank you, my heart. You're such a lovely girl.

Tiffany watched the interaction with admiration for Jihyo's ability to handle Y/N's occasional tantrums. She knew that it took a special kind of patience and understanding to navigate the complexities of Y/N's personality.

As the morning turned into afternoon, Y/N's energy finally began to wane. She plopped down on the couch, her eyelids drooping from the day's excitement.

Okay I'm going to be forward here, I don't know a lot about the subject of being Trans.

Identity for me is extremely difficult and while I could be considered under the umbrella of trans (I identify as sorta-NB, demi-girl? IDK where this falls) and sexuality also is extremely difficult for me to get into because of the complexities of it and how simple labels can be when we boil it down.

I don't know how to answer a lot of these difficult questions and I'll fully admit my ignorance and faults I've made.

I'm putting this under a cut so I don't put a giant post on the dash for people who don't want to get involved in it. Please let me know if you need this tagged

When I first made this blog I did see Azula more as a female-leaning bisexual with not a disinterest in men but more a lack of appeal towards them but wouldn't be entirely repulsed. After more speculation brought on by the mutuals I made here, I thought I might as well call her a lesbian and be flat out with it, but as me, personally, tends to be unsure how the term lesbian is seen in trans community for how Terfs like using it to discriminate against trans woman as they see lesbian as "females loving females"

I used the term lesbian and sapphic interchangeably in an attempt to be more inclusive to trans woman because there is a distinct difference between the complexities of sexuality with labels, social inclusivity, and how one personally might have a genital preference for certain sexes.

I have been informed and take responsibility that phrasing things this way does not help, or can do harm to lesbians and others by making it feel like it's a "bad" word so to speak. I accept that and you are in your full right to criticize me for it. I will do my best to keep this in mind going forward and you always are welcome to call me out for it in the future.

As to say, I'm not good and knowing how to address all this of a fictional character, let alone my own life! I call myself lesbian but I don't even know if that's true because sexuality is fluid the more we understand ourselves. My ow nsexuality has been difficult to understand with the deconstruction of what preferences are okay, what do i prefer, how my trauma impacts me being unabel to handle certai nthings, ive constantly been put into question of my label as lesbian because what if it is just my CSA trauma that stopped me from feeling safe with certain things that remind me of it, but i dont know how to fix it if it can be and i. i dont know

but its not something everyone will understand (sexuality and identity being flexible) because it can come off as "you can forcibly change someone's sexuality" which no. No I'm not saying that, but we can discover more about ourselves and change labels when we better understand ourselves and our likes and wants. (my gf for example identified as lesbian when we first met but under more analysis of herself she feels more comfortable being called pan now)

I don't genuinely know how to project all these complex thoughts onto a fictional character who in the canon is only like 14, and in the comics is 17, and genuinely am trying not to think about what the genital preference of a minor would be when they grow up because it lowkey makes me feel kinda gross.

When it comes to Azula, I don't think she personally holds any ill perspectives on trans women or trans men.

Azula holds a respect for power, honor, and a strong will. Whether the woman she speaks to or recuits is anywhere on the woman or non binary feminine leaning line or nb line in general I don't think she would discriminate against them.

I don't think Azula is a Terf, if that is what you're asking. Azula doesn't discriminate on that

she's very much someone who holds ill will towards people who personally harm her or slight her. Even the Earth kingdom and it's people she didn't hold an animosity for like she did Zuko, during the final Agni Kai, or even Mai and Ty Lee who she showed much more hatred towards for betraying her.

Trans people existing doesn't hurt Azula. Trans people living their lives, doesn't personally insult her.

Azula is fine with and would accept trans women and would accept them all the same as women or whatever they want to identify as.

*Edit, forgot to really answer the question: She probably had met at least a few trans individuals while traveling and wouldnt have any issue with them

** This also comes from Azula who was 110% fine with being called "Fire Lord" - Lord being what we see as a more masculine term than Fire Lady, so she 100% would be accepting of trans and NB individuals since she herself is willing to take on a masculine/male/whatever title despite identifying as a girl.

I'm insanely sorry for vanishing for a while. My gf has been staying over, and we got caught up watching OPLA, and we wanted to finish playing pokemon sword/shield while she was here because scottish and we had a bunch of trips planned so we've been really busy. But!!! we've also been working on Kid's carrd. every. single. day. for literally about. more than two weeks? because his backstory is immensely dense and long. his backstory is literally the most lengthy thing I have ever written for any of my muses in my life. Oda gave him the absolute bare minimum so I had to write him his own spinoff novel.

The problem was that we kept reaching the word limit on his carrd. So we tried to condense it. The condensed version also hit the word limit. So we tried to condense it a third time, and cut out some major plot points for the sake of his carrd. and that ALSO hit the word limit. The only way we could make it fit was to take out all of his portrayal notes, make them into separate posts, and then link them in the card. Because it just would not fit otherwise.

Now we actually have to post all these portrayal notes so we can put the links in the carrd and thereby finish the carrd. Which means we have about 20 headcanon posts ready to go (or very nearly ready to go, some are like 90% done) and we can't post his carrd until they're up so like. there's going to be a huge amount of kid heacanon posts coming soon, and I wanted to give everyone on my dash a heads up because I don't want anyone to get angry at me for spamming his content. I will completely understand if you want to temporarily block my headcanon tag. I will try my best to space them out a bit.

That being said, we really poured so much time into making his backstory sound good. Gf stayed up for many nights editing everything to make it sound pretty.

There's so, so, so much more that we haven't even started on, but if we try to get everything done now then it'll literally take months to finish, so we've decided to go with what we have so far and just keep posting updates to it every so often.

Anyway. In summary, lots and lots of Kid posts coming soon. And I'm very sorry for being gone for so long. My activity will still be a bit slow for the next few days, but I should be back to replying normally soon and start catching up on everything I missed while I was busy.

Here I was just hoping to enjoy the conclusion of the cruise disaster saga, especially after last week's heartstopping Bathena performance, but nooooo, I won't even get to enjoy 1 millisecond of satisfaction before I'm gnawing my arm off waiting for next week's episode and an explanation for why Buddie are *waves hand nonsensically at stills* THAT.

Anyway, I know I should remember the mantra about getting our hopes up but I can't help it for tonight, the last two episodes have been so incredibly solid and everything I love about 911 that I can't help but raise the bar from where it was (somewhere around the Earth's core) to something at least knee high. Sorry I have fandom shit going on Tumblr, and not a lot of actual work to keep me busy. I think the post limit should be at least 500 posts a day. Just let me be unhinged!! I didn't even catch those stills at first since my app is still not working so I can't actually see my dash so I was just chillin in the d20 tag when I suddenly noticed 911 was trending and decided to check what was up and WHOOOOO BOY! What IS all that?! Why are they like this?! They're killing meeeee!

ANYWAY

That mess is for next week. This cruise disaster arc is ABSOLUTELY a veeeeeerrrry close second to the tsunami arc for me. That one edges it out because we got to see more of everyone on the team doing rescues while this one (DESERVEDLY) focused more on Bobby and Athena, but MAN was it gripping television! I laughed, I cried, I legit clapped and cheered when Buck and Eddie showed up to get Bobby and the little boy, I mourned for Wes the security guard, it was all SO, so, so good. And we got badass Bobby on rescue duty!! Athena taking charge and taking NO shit from anyone! We got the firefam being a FAMILY which includes bickering, tattling, gentle ribbing, and having each other's backs because you know each other better than anyone else. I had a GREAT time.

I know we have been pretty good at keeping our expectations down but for right now, I'm felling a little more confident in the show as a whole to deliver good firefam stuff so I'm raising that bar a little bit. As for Buddie, well. I guess we'll see? I'd be lying if I said I was excited about seeing them dating other people AGAIN, no matter if it's supposed to "set the stage" or whatever for Buddie because I just think going the route we SHOULD have had after the shooting. Getting them both keeping their feelings realizations secret from each other and then having a third party confession come out with Chim/Maddie and Hen each getting one side of it and then accidentally cluing each other in has a better feel for me, especially with the delicious flavor of Eddie still having a gf at the moment. But I'm reserving judgement FOR NOW, on how it could ultimately play out for Buddie. It might be fine in the end with how it all comes together, but I'm not going to "settle" for just being happy if Buck comes out and taking whatever relationship we are given instead of the one that's been built up since season 2. But I'm also not throwing in the towel because we don't know where it's going yet. I'm firmly on the "fine but I'm going to complain the whole time" train at the moment with regards to Buck finally dating a man but for some god-forsaken reason it's not Eddie. (At least we lucked the FUCK out and someone else gave AK a job so we don't have to put up with THAT nonsense again.)

For now, I'm going to revel in the show ABSOLUTELY coming back with a bang and feeling like the 911 and firefam we all know and love and have DEEPLY missed. The difference between this arc and that blimp emergency is LAUGHABLE. Bless Tim for coming back and giving us this incredible arc and really showcasing Angela and Peter and the Bathena relationship. I'm excited to see what's next!

So where do you draw the line between those women on TikTok and the types of comments wrestling tumblr girlies say?

I'm not sure if this is worded strangely to my brain or if I'm not understanding what you're trying to get across. The TikTok issue is not just women making comments on their own videos. It's the tagging the players, it's the commenting on the players or their wives/gfs social media, it's DM'ing them sexual messages. Unless you are dating them, it's not okay to message someone to say you pleasure yourself in their jersey.

With wrestling, I can only really comment on the parts that comes up on my dash. Yes, there's a lot of sexual comments and jokes but the wrestlers aren't ever tagged in them. I don't see people bragging about how they posted sexual comments on the wrestlers social media or DM'ing them. Usually I see the opposite, with fans posting their anger when someone in the crowd tries to touch a wrestler inappropriately.

Just ONE thing??? Okay well I think first of all I just love your passion. You know MJ so well and you adore her so much that I see it in all of your posts and it's such a fun thing to see on the dash, it's really infectious. But I also love how you allow MJ to be multifaceted. She is human and isn't perfect but she also isn't just Peter's wife/gf. She is so fully and wonderfully developed that I get wrapped up in her story and motivations and I just really appreciate you and your writing

i honestly might write a small thing abt the concept me and my gf had written up a while ago about elijah accidentally having a kid from a fling and managing to get custody of them. i feel like i dont often get to explore the aspect of cyril notably wanting to be a father but 1) not wanting to get into a relationship with anyone prior to meeting elijah and 2) well- its the 90s and he's a single man, you really think he can adopt? along with this, i feel like itd be fun to explore their shared fears and excitement about parenthood as they both came from a broken home and would want to give the child a better life than they had. of course, theyre also literal wanted criminals which just- adds a certain type of comedy to it all? but idk- itd be fun to explore that aspect of them... also itd be fun to further discuss elijah's habits regarding relationships prior to his relationship w/ cyril
