Little big rant ahead:

I joined the fandom with the start of ww era after the previous i was in turned into a literal dumpster on fire. And while it was clear in hindsight that the golden era of the tk fandom was around 2012-2014 (maybe it can be stretched to 2015), ww era wasn't bad either. Yeah the majority of the old guard/bfn was inactive or waning their presence a lot and basically disappeared the moment the ww tour ended we still had:

- gif/edit/moodboard makers

- art makers (not a lot but a few at least!!!)

- people posting pics from other social media. Either band photos or encounters with fans. Like people were ''fighting'' to be the first to repost the band insta pics!!

- people who weren't content creators but that at least they reblogged with funny tags. No, i didn't mind seeing the same pic of brandon 7 times during my catch up scrolling if 4 of them put some kind of tags to read in them (funny/horny/roasting him), that was the enrichment!!

Then the tour ended and fandom activity shrunk to 1/10 of what it used to be. Ressurrected briefly for their appearance at glasto 2019.

Lol thais liked a post about me complaining about not wanting to post 2 gifsets i made bc the fandom was too dead and i didn't want to waste them. It's dated 3 years ago!!!

Then 2020 happened. The pandemic, their social media silence on the blm protests (the bar was literally on the floor... we only wanted a social media post giving support!!!! How come the bootlickers were all up brandon's ass about how difficult it was to rewrite a whole verse of land of the free to play on tv in 2 weeks but posting a black pic on insta tagged blm was too hard??? HOW?), the horrific situation of the roadie hazing happened in the past that resurfaced... like i don't blame anyone who didn't want to engage with the band afterwards (bc they are some good reasons!! I will never forget how they let us down! And while the hazing wasn't perpetrated by the band members it was still such a horrible situation that shouldn't have happened!)

But this was a complete mass extinction here on tumblr. Of all the fandom communities this seems the only one that died like this.

We are currently left with

- 3,5 gif makers

- maybe 2 art makers if i include myself

- maybe 2 people posting pics including myself

No consistent edit/moodboards/meme makers no consistent reposting of official pics from their socials. The like/reblog ratio on posts is 3:1 on good days and close to 4:1 or 5:1 on bad days. I wake to notes (when i get any) that are 80-90% likes. Most of the rare reblogs don't have any kind of commentary at all.

I could easily run my queue for 7-10 days just with posts i could find on my dash, almost zero effort bc i was fed content on my dash. Nowadays i need to spend hours on blogs/my drafts/my bookmarks to put something together, only for likes. It gets tiring easily with a soul and energy sucking job to do to survive only to barely get any reward (reblogs with tags to read). This community will never recover on people who refuse to use the reblog button

It's even harder to compare this fandom to the mcr one, yeah it's a quite unique situation bc having such a thriving fandom despite the band being broken up most of tumblr's life is INSANE but you can't help getting angry/sad at why did they survive but not us? I can reblog so much fanart on my sideblog!! People posting pics!! Many archivial blogs!! The gifsets!! It just feels so unfair!

#this can't be a one man job bc time and resources are limited it takes a village blah blah blah #empty blogs who only use like are fandom leeches #tl;dr: ww era was actually a silver age of the fandom despite all of its problems #and i'm clearly a reward fuelled person doing it for myself is not enough of a motivation to keep myself going #i need that external motivation #also: if you reblog posts from me adding tags to read. any tag to read. i love you so much

okay in all seriousness, I DON’T KNOW WHY TUMBLR JUST GLITCHES ME OUT SOMETIMES????

anon you are in for a ramble bc you are so iconic and beautiful to have popped up like this, but tumblr is such a broken site istg !!!

it’s so common for tumblr to not allow you to show up on tags during periods of inactivity and all that, so that’s why i always post a ‘checking tags’ post when it’s been like five days since i last let tumblr know i was breathing and thriving !!!

BUT THIS IS MY PERSPECTIVE:

I WAS LIKE ‘hey let me check where my bkg fic is and how it’s doing cuz like why not’ AND I CANNOT FIND IT ANYWHERE IN THE TAGS ??? it then makes sense that i just suddenly stopped getting notifications bc people weren’t discovering the post either !!!! it’s not like i’m inactive either - i literally post shit on the dash everyday bc i’m talkative???

the other red flag is that not even three hours before this happened, i was automatically logged out of tumblr??? for no reason??? this happens sometimes but i have no idea why and it’s freaky every time it occurs.

and so i’m like ‘aw man, that sucks :( i’m gonna input every tag again one by one on the post to see if it shows up’ (and it does eventually), but i was so ready for my recent bakugo fic to just be a secret between me and my followers bc it could not be discovered any other way…

it’s not abt the notes at all, i mean WERK I LOVE GETTING APPRECIATION FOR MY WRITING, but tags is one of the main ways you can get discovered on tumblr and i love finding other simps !! not having that visibility is scary bc what’s even more freaky is that not showing up on tags or search means that you could have been shadowbanned for a reason that tumblr won’t disclose !!!

but turns out i’m not shadowbanned and i don’t know what happened, but i’m back in the tags 😁😁😁 you can see me again !!! yay !!!!

anyways if you made it to the end of this shitpost, i have three things to say:

1) if you are a new writer on tumblr, just know that you might have to fight against the tags before they become your friend !!!

too late bc it was actually based on a recurring dream i had and i made this blog to write it down. it was easy to write bc i knew all the plot points beforehand and i’d even remember some dialogue from my dream... kinda freaky given the nature of the fic but when you watch hours of criminal minds on end it’s bound to permeate into your dreams, right?

... was the hardest to write?

too soon. i never anticipated for too late to have a part two and i had huge writer’s block while writing this one. and i really struggled on giving it a happy ending after all the angst of too late

too late. it was my first fanfic i’d have published in years and i wanted it to be perfect, especially since i didn’t know how active/inactive the criminal minds fandom would be. sometimes i read the first few lines and i feel like i could recite the rest.

but that was during the editing phase. i don’t tend to reread my stuff after i post them bc i’d just criticize them even more and it’d drive me crazy.

... would you recommend to someone reading your work for the first time?

eros & thanatos. i feel like it has everything in one? angst, fluff, and i’ve been told my characterization in it is good so <33 and whenever people rec me, it’s always this fic so yeah!

eros & thanatos! for the same reasons i mentioned before, plus it has been getting the best feedback out of all my fics! i really like this one and i’m proud of how i made up a criminal minds case and unsub in a relatively realistic way? idk i'm just rlly proud of this one <3

I love the english language (though I guess I do butcher it sometimes) and I think it’s way easier to express my feelings in this language, and more fun, and it opened a whole world for me online, making it possible for me to find like minded people and some mental health info that I would never ever ever have found in my own language.

aesthetics: I’m gonna be 100% honest here and admit I never really thought about it so it’s kind hard for me to answer lol but I’d say I’m pretty eclectic but more prone to vintage/dramatic aesthetics? I really dont know hahah

i don’t know... i’ve often said my dream job would be a film / tv location scout but then i have begun to realise that not all parts of the job appeal to me... like i know that i have an insane natural talent at finding out where places are filmed (and to do that i can happily spend hours looking on google maps and researching things) and that has translated into me thinking ‘that’s what a location scout does!’ but then actually, would i really be spending all my time looking at google maps and researching places? no, i probably would not... the job would be so much more than that. also would my enthusiasm disappear if it was my actual job? my passion for finding out where places are filmed is because im a) hella nosy and b) really interested in the movie / tv show / actor so i want to find it out because i just have to know and it’s fun but would that still be the case if i actually worked as a location scout? who knows! so basically i have no idea what my dream job is hahaa... instruments: i unfortunately can’t play any musical instruments because i am untalented and don’t have the patience, i blame my brother and my cousins for stealing all the musical genes in my family… languages: i speak english and english only... but there are some yiddish and scots words that occasionally crop up when im talking thanks to my family’s heritage, but i dont speak any other languages... i learnt french and spanish at school but i found them very hard and never really enjoyed learning them, although i did get a b in french at gcse so i was alright i guess but i reckon thanks to crisana and juliantina i have learnt more spanish in the past few months than i did during the two years i learnt spanish at school haha... favorite songs: ugh i have too many faves, but sight of you by sigrid, the seed by aurora, radio gaga by queen. dancing with myself by billy idol, be the one by dua lipa, to the other side by passion pit, ribs by lorde, 33 god by bon iver, dog days are over by florence + the machine, video killed the radio star by the buggles to name but a few… random fact: ???!! i guess a random fact is that i find it impossible to come up with random facts about myself! aesthetic: exploring new places, quoting random lines from poetry or films, going to supermarkets in foreign countries, saying ‘i love you’ spontaneously, posing for endless photos in endless pretty locations, watching the sunset over a city while listening to music, enjoying the magical loveliness of everyday life…

i don't usually add to posts, but i recently got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and learned that regular exercise helps with pain management! i’ve always been fairly inactive, partly because i was already in pain and didn’t want to exercise and be in more pain. i used to jog, and it hurt and i hated it, so i stopped exercising at all, and assumed other exercise would also be shitty & painful.

i joined an ultimate frisbee team this fall (needed a PE credit and already knew how to play) & it hurt like hell at the beginning, because i was hella out of shape. but i couldn’t quit because all the other PE options were way worse, so i kept going. and eventually i didn’t want to die during practice, and walking to class got easier, and i could sleep better at night even though my fibromyalgia pain still kept me awake on occasion.

and then i went home for winter break. and i didnt do shit for a month.

and when i came back, 1. frisbee hurt again, 2. walking to class hurt again, 3. my fibromyalgia flared up like a motherfucker. it can be triggered by stress, and i was relaxing at home, so didnt really have to deal with the consequences of not exercising. but as soon as i was back in school & trying to manage all that a new semester entails, my nerves were like AAAAA!!!!!

couldn’t sleep, couldn’t go to class, couldn’t go to frisbee practice, just had to wait for my worst flare-up ever to calm down so i could get my life back on track.

that’s when i realized that maybe the reason why i didn’t have a flare-up that severe in the last semester was because i went to frisbee practice for at least two hours, usually four hours, a week. and now that i’m back at practice, i’ve noticed a decrease in pain.

don’t get me wrong, my body still hurts uhhh constantly, but it’s a manageable level. i can get to all my classes, and on nights that i play frisbee, i’m not kept up for hours by pain. also my team’s cool, so if im at practice & can’t do something because i’m hurting too much, i can just say so, and go chill for a few minutes. or go home. sometimes i do that. i’ve been lucky to find a group of people who understand that i can’t always participate with the team as much as i’d like to, and support me even when i skip practice again because leg hurty.

tl;dr if you have fibromyalgia seriously try to find a way to exercise that’s fun and manageable for you. this isnt just like an abled person “WELL HAVE YOU TRIED EXERCISE” thing, if you can exercise it will actually help manage symptoms. not cure, but help. yes, there are times where exercise is absolutely not on the table bc of pain or any other reason, but if you’re having a good day and think you could swing a walk or jog (ew) or any form of activity, do it! and if it’s something fun, then you don’t have to deal with the double mental struggle of “i’m doing a difficult/painful thing and i hate it”.

celebrate what you can do, on the days when you can do it! and with any luck, those good days will become more frequent.

Episode 2 - hello i am wasted - Abrielle

The round began with a Jigsaw Puzzle Reward challenge. The reward challenge came down to a very close battle with only 12 minutes separating the winning tribe from the losing tribe. Awashima however, managed to secure the victory and the reward. The immunity challenge was a match-up game of Dots and Boxes. Both tribes quickly got into battle, finishing the challenge the night it was announced. Awashima defeated Hiroku 5-2 in the challenge, giving them their first immunity win of the season.

After the results were announced, Sam was quick to throw out Zac’s name to Constance. However, Constance flipped it onto Odd for being inactive socially and Sam agreed. Sam quickly set out trying to gather the votes to go after Odd. However, many people felt Sam was also lacking socially and viewed Odd as a challenge asset and the vote turned towards Odd. Olivia initially felt like taking out Sam was not a good idea, viewing him as a more social player. However, despite efforts to attempt to flip the vote, Sam was voted out in a unanimous 9-1 vote.

“I hate pre-merge tribal councils. In my games i am usually out either pre-merge or towards the end. Timing is important and the time for safety on this tribe is over, I trust Olivia and Aly. I like what we created yesterday and the dynamic of it, i don't think i am a target at the moment since they are people who barely talk in this game. I think one of the guys will be going home which would be probably either Sam or ODD i believe, or even Zach since his challenge score have been horrible, i mean i am not talking about the puzzle but how the hell did he lose 24-1? did he throw it for whatever reason? like it feels like you have to try to have a score against you that bad, on the other site V looks like a genious based on her challenge scores so it may just have nothing to do with what Zach did but how smart V is actually.”

Unless i can connect these 2 alliances with each other someway somehow, i may should try to avoid the concept of a bigger alliance at the moment. Idk if Abby see's me in with the alliance that Aly, me and Olivia are trying to make and then she see me in our Trio potential alliance could get me in trouble.”

To be honest i was hoping to get out Sam instead of ODD and the best thing is that i didn't even have to try hard for it, in this vote my goal was to try to have an unite tribe while at the same time i want it to be strong and ready for the next challenge. Odd is a challenge beast, you can't take that away from him even if his social game is not existing as much at the moment. I was on call with Constance and he was pretty locked on ODD but since he change his mind about the vote and ODD messaged him everything changes, intersting isn't it? Anuway i don't mind that, Constance seems like a good shield for me at the moment and i like that for my game. Right now he is giving the result that i want with out me even have to try hard about it.”

“As man, I really would prefer odd to be voted out rather than Sam. I can see Sam as a future vote and someone I could have a side alliance with if I earn his trust. Odd never fucking talks and he might be better at challenges than Sam? But like who’s to say. I’d rather have someone who gives a shit about the tribe than someone who is MIA lol. And see Sam stepped up to the plate for the challenge and accepted it last night while odd didn’t. Where was odd? Who knows”

Olivia goes on an expedition to the Kanto plains on Honshu, where she completes a challenge requiring her to name and post pictures of birds. She earns the maximum possible advantage: a plus 20% challenge multiplier for the next eligible immunity challenge

Omg SO I just got out of my American History class and we have been talking about WWII so my teacher is talking about double agents and this guy called Garbo and I’m literally sitting in class thinking ... this is a genius strategy to use in Survivor I’m crying!!! So like basically I’m going to be Garbo, posing as a German and feeding the Germans accurate information up until D-Day where I fuck everything up for the Germans and get right with the British. D-Day meaning ... the day we take out Germany's closest ally. Germany meaning literally any person I want to screw over and British being ... probably Logan and whomever Logan and I want to work with. See like this would work out better if things were actually happening in the game wkwjwjnsja ... I don’t think much is happening on my tribe (at least I hope not) like I haven’t been put into any alliances so that’s :-/ there’s probably an alliance I don’t know about and they’re plotting against me and I won’t even be able to use my cute Garbo strategy. Also like this is an old and flawed strategy I’m sure but IM JUST TRYING TO BE GARBO OKAY he’s an icon and tbh a very big reason why the Axis Powers lost WWII so we all need to appreciate Garbo. I actually had a lot of fun filming for the challenge! Wish I could've gotten that bass line down a little better...smh I'm really surprised about Jordan. He's like a Sour Patch Kid -- first they're sour, then they're sweet. I just hosted him in Island of Shade and it's funny how I went from literally having his bitch ass blocked after House of Shade 9 to now where we're allies and kind of...friends? He's really matured in the couple of years we've known each other and it's actually really sweet to see. I do feel like he's a great ally for me because he's stronger than me in competitions and I crush him in any endgame scenario presuming I don't totally bungle my social game at the merge (and there's a non-zero chance of that happening tbqh). He's a genuinely good person even if he is kind of irritating at times. I'm like six years older than him so of course I'm gonna find him irritating lmao. Can't really say much about anyone else on this new tribe. Just not getting a great vibe from Raymond, Jack hasn't really tried to talk to me, and I trust Lily and Nicholas but they're both pretty inactive. I feel like Jordan and I are kind of the heart of this tribe right now, which hopefully means if we do lose this challenge we'll be safe. I just really hope someone I wanted to work with in this game doesn't get swapfucked tomorrow! :(

Hello again! There's a rainbow outside my window right now. https://i.imgur.com/1KZpEFA.jpg BECAUSE WE JUST WON IMMUNITY! I really didn't expect that since I didn't give it my best, but oh well... I am not complaining. :) Emily did most of the work, props to her. Logan contributed as much as I did. Amanda, Kai and Madison are MIA - even in chat for the most part. But that won't matter too much right now. Also yay, it was fun winning the Reward Challenge by punishing that cheeky A1 placement. CHECKMATE ANTELOPES! There were no Antelopes in Ancient Greece. And soon there won't be any in Themyscira. I am already a bit scared about the next Challenge, but for now, I'll have a relaxed evening. Also, if Madison doesn't start doing much soon, we'll have an easy target SHOULD we go to Tribal Council in the near future. See ya again in Round 4 :)

okay so going into tribal tonight i feel good! i have my og hippo alliance of 4 and then i have good enough bonds with raymond and jack to where i dont think that they would come for me if given the chance. the logical thing to do is to vote out someone who didn't contribute on the challenge, but i know that isn't going to happen because if the og hippo alliance falls apart then that leaves a lot of room for uncertainty. however i do know if we go to tribal more than 1 more time after this i will be the next one to leave the game because i am the lowest on the totem pole for the og hippo alliance. it sucks and i don't want to do it but i think i have no choice but to vote with the hippos damnit

Love Antiope turning into the new Copa... not a good run so far. I'm siding with the Hippolyta majority to vote out Raymond, and after that, me, Jordan, and Lily will become the majority if we have to vote someone out again. Or maybe I'm just gonna get voted out and then I'll just die. Who knows.
