Day 8 of 100 / 9.16.21

If you saw my post yesterday, you know I talked about how I could feel a bunch of work about to be thrown at me like I’m up to the plate at Fenway Park in Boston. Wellllll it happened. I have to read about 100 pages of history by Monday, Geometry notes to write, and an analysis of several articles for a huge research paper I’m writing for English. Lets just say I didn’t come home in the best mood. Anyways, after school, I went to Starbucks with my bestie, Jamie, which we proceeded to complain about a Dunkin cup that someone left in the Starbucks. It was such an outrage. After coffee, we went to the first rehearsal for Elf the Musical, which we recently auditioned for. I play the role of Micheal and Jamie and many other friends are part of the ensemble. We got to read through Act 1 and the cast is so much fun to be around. The energy is incredible and I can tell it’s going to be a great show. I have to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow morning (not because I have to but simply because I want to and I don’t feel like just giving up), so wish me luck. Goodnight everyone!

Day 7 of 30

Thursday 9.16.21

Today was a bit of a rough one, starting the morning with a migraine. I've gotten migraines once or twice every few weeks for as long as I can remember, and I think a lot of the time it's from me clenching my jaw from stress. I feel as though the combination of the big routine change with the start of the semester, being nervous about how manageable my semester workload will be, neglecting self-care to study, and the full moon approaching have all been causing me stress. I have a theory that the full moon really affects me because during the full moon the last few months, I was feeling unbelievably stressed and my jaw clenching was extra bad.

For my first meal of the day, I had some toast with my coffee (I drink coffee every morning, I just forgot to put that in my previous posts) so that I could take some medication for my headache. Usually, this will get rid of my headaches, but my jaw muscles were just causing me so much pain that my migraine wouldn't go away fully.

I still attended my CSCI Zoom class (I can do in-person or online), but I didn't attend my statistics Zoom class. I had some mac and cheese for lunch, and then I tried to do as much studying as I could. I played "chill lofi study beats" while I studied. I watched one YouTube video by Kai Foster and played with my cat when I needed a break from studying. I attended my third Zoom class but unfortunately, I didn't feel up to commuting to campus for this class.

Later, I listened to my playlist called "brb," which has slower, more sad songs. Then, I did a little bit of yoga because my back has been really sore from work.

Swedish House Mafia Tease Fans With Announcement, Then Drop Brand Partnership with IKEA… For 2022

Just days after The Weeknd posted confirming a collaboration with juggernaut trio Swedish House Mafia, the group posted an idiosyncratically cryptic tweet with booming synths and ending with “9.16.21” — today’s date. All signs pointed to the release of the collaboration, thought to be titled “Moth to a Flame,” today.

However, as it turns out… the tweet was in reference to an apparent brand partnership with another Swedish juggernaut: IKEA.

“With both of us sharing a curiosity about creativity in the home, especially music creation, as well as making it accessible for everyone, it was a perfect match,” the trio shared on Instagram. “The collection consists of products designed to make it easier and more welcoming to get into a creative flow in your own home. The design supports creating, playing, enjoying and even just setting the mood. In our own environment we really put a lot of effort into our surroundings, making sure that it is in tune with our own frequency and creative state of mind.”

It’s important to note that SHM never once mentioned The Weeknd or directly alluded to the collaboration being released today. Fans did that all on their own. Still, it’s an example of a recurring pattern with the group, providing hype for something intangible and unclear, fans running away with their ideas, and then becoming disappointed when it wasn’t what they expected.

We’re sure to get that Weeknd collaboration at some point, it’s been confirmed as much. However, the fan response to the announcement is not only expected but a little hilarious.
