i read guardians of the galaxy 2020 here’s my review no one asked for bc i lost access to the tumblr acct that was supposed to be the Talking one (not like ive been drawing a lot lately either way JDSKFHS)

1) crazy how for more than half of peter’s panel-time on this book he’s dressed like this. for no other reason other than he woke up one day and this was his vibe. i support him in his slut era

2) so like this is peter with his wife and husband in that one planet which name i obviously remember but i’m testing You. smth like planet beyond the sun or smth. i know it starts with M. mor-smth. it smth in another reality and the paneling in that issue is really really nice.

anyways this was him with his wife and husband. crazy. they had a son together and everything.

but then he’s back to 616 and this is the second to last panel of richard, gamora and peter together

al ewing + juan frigeri i see u... also peter’s got nice nails. 

honorary mention to all the gay shit happening in this book:

- peter saying “i love him too. you know that right?” to gamora about richard. gamora replying “i know. that makes it better” i know she’s then talking about family but like he also refers to his wife and husband from the other reality as his family so like. a family can be a throuple and their 467465 children (too many members in this team)

-hercules and marvel boy :) i wish we had gotten more content abt them as a couple. or idk if theres more content of them in other books... im on the hunt

- phyla and moondragon were really cute and i loved their arc...the trials and tribulations of being a superhero... the resolution to their conflict was nice.

"Lackluster" is really interesting in the context of 04man internalizing a sentiment openly shared by the scientists in regards to him and how that would contribute to him lashing out negatively on top of his original's dedication to perfectionism I'm assuming he inherited. The struggle of striving for that while knowing he would never be the original and hating that for everyone who knew the original, he would never be free of his shadow (not entirely 1:1 but some overlap with Emma losing her memories in canon).

Lackluster in the narrative automatically condemning him is disheartening given the ever-prevalent themes of identity and personhood that come with clone storylines in general, but also with TPN rejecting the idea of the mass production farm children being any less deserving of life than the premium farm children and Emma being…Emma. I have such a hard time seeing her use that adjective in reference to the value of any living being with the focus on intrinsic, fundamental worth as opposed to a person's character being determined by their actions/choices. (This is also how Ray operates and is one of the personal issues I have with the framing of some angsty takes about his relationship to Isabella. It's not their shared blood and attributes alone that bring him grief; it's that, from his perspective, he proved he was her son by actively choosing to use the children around him for his own gain and believed he deserved to die for it. "This is the best way…I used them." Very pointed in his word choice.)

This is also me being burnt out on the worst handling of a clone storyline in recent memory for me in the form of VLD's clone Shiro/Kuron throughline. It completely ignored the life this character had built with the team he became a part of and all the active good he did for the sake of forcing him to fill an antagonist role because Evil Optics™ and they couldn't figure out any other way to get rid of him. Incredibly disappointing and lazy, devoid of any nuance for the common themes of the throughline in the name of adhering to the 80s lion line-up.

For sure, anon! This all started with @fullscoreshenanigans' post [https://www.tumblr.com/fullscoreshenanigans/735265331344474112/this-makes-me-insane-for-giving-me-ideas-so?source=share] about Norman having brown eyes instead of these piercing blue ones we all know and learned to love (or not, how this posts shows (●ˇ∀ˇ●). From the second I saw these edits, the idea of a Norman with brown eyes taking over the place of „the original one“, playing around with the idea of Norman actually being cloned in Lambda 7214, like we all assumed when the particular chapters dropped back in the day.

Some major points this AU contains for me(!):

brown Eyed!Norman is one (!) clone of og Norman, as perfect as one can be, but developed with the flaw of having brown eyes instead of blue ones

Norman was slowly dying due to the experiments performed on him in Lambda, so genetic material was collected and several copies of the genius boy prepared

BE-Norman‘s number is actually 22194-04, due to him being the fourth clone being bred, and he regained consciousness after Norman as well as the other three experiments died due to… unforeseen circumstances ¬_¬

to prevent to be replaced too (he was a lackluster copy after all, because of his eye colour) 22194-04 killed the rest of the clones due to cutting off their life support. One could argue he didn’t even commit murder because they weren’t alive yet, but… he knows what he did and couldn’t care about it too much

to fool the rest of the cattle children being held prisoner in Lambda, the new Norman used blue contact lenses the scientists gave him before to conceal this flaw of him. No one of his underlings noticed, of course not – how could they, when he was William Minerva, God of the cattle children and destroyer of all demonkind?

of course the charade began to grumble when Emma, Ray and the rest of his family arrived at Paradise Hideout; from the start, they had the feeling something was off about him, but couldn’t really pinpoint what

lacking memories, changes in behavior and preferences and of course their heart telling them that’s not their Norman led Emma and Ray to investigate Norman’s private rooms. There Emma stumbled across a pack of blue contact lenses… and being caught in the act from Norman, he then finally starts spreading the facts about himself and of course their beloved friend not being in this world anymore, but merely replaced by a lackluster copy…

I have to say, it’s not a fully developed story, but more of an idea, playing around with some fucked uped ideas and story bits. Maybe I will do more with it in the future. Maybe not. But be sure, anyone jumping on this bandwagon is very welcome to add their own takes and ideas!

Personally, I think it's a good thing to slow down. I think that WV, FatWS and Loki were all welcomed well in such a short period of time because at the time there hadn't been a mcu release for a year and a half, and people were starving for a little of mcu. Now, there is a little of fatigue, and I think that they need to give more time to post-production and VFX artists. Honestly, I got the feeling recently that Secret Invasion would end up between GotG Vol3 and The Marvels, since there is still no release date, so it would become the summer release, and Loki the fall one (september/october).

Plus, if they still aim to award recognition for the series, they need to release fewer and give everyone the right timing for marketing and to shine properly

Exactly. I agree, too.

Andor got good word of mouth at the right time for winter awards consideration, which could carry it to Emmys, at least in technical categories.

PARTY IN NOVEMBER WHOO i’ll have to like. draw something special or something for my six year brainrot anniversary

vol3 absolutely reawakened me like a SLEEPER AGENT i was DORMANT before. well kind of i still doodled them i was just like. dormant on this blog jdjkdhs but this is how i’ve come to accept they’re longterm blorbo for sure. seeing them actually get to interact FOR REALSIES and how they interact was so fun and seeing other bugborg fans taking that and running with it has ALSO been so fun and delightful i am so fucking here for it. obsessed with it. chewing on their interactions like a dog i cannot stop thinking about them.

i HAVE to give credit where credit is due - i totally started shipping bugborg because of some Very Early Days post-vol2 fic!! the summer vol2 came out i ended up reading a lot of gotg fic bc i was working a shitty nighttime receptionist job with a lot of downtime and i was so. fucking. BORED. and i remember stumbling across one that had background bugborg here and there and was like. Oh that’s cute :) and then moved on.

and then like 3 weeks later realized i was Still Thinking About Them and the POTENTIAL of their interactions and relationship and oUGH. anyways i ended up in the ship tag and read everything that was available bc i was desperate lol. so huge shoutout and much love to that one fic for awakening something in me now im here forever something something Don’t Forget You’re Here Forever simpsons meme something something

PSA: GOTGVol3 is NOT canceled!!

Production has been deleyed until they find a director. All the searches I did stated a 2020 release as opposed to the previous May 2019. They are still sticking to Gunn’s script (in my mind the most important part because I care about these characters more then anything and characters come down to how they are written). Rumors about Bautista leaving the franchise are flying around but nothing is certain until it’s certain. It is tough to be in all this ambiguity but things are made even worse by spreading rumors and fear-mongering.

If you have news on G3 please cite your sources!! The internet is a big wide world full of BS and part of being someone who engages in it means sifting truth from rumor and articles/info from credible vs non-credible.

It’s an anxious time to be in the gotg fandom right now no doubt about it because we want Vol3 and we want it to be good. But freaking out the second something comes up and posting it all over will not help anyone nor change anything. I am guilty of this too with the rumor about Disney tossing the script. But from now on we should all try to be critical when reading (any form of) news and post only with cited sources or at least name where you got the info.

May fanfiction/art fill the void until Vol3!
