Sam's lie about himself was so interesting in terms of how he sees himself. (I wish it had made it into the episode.)

Instead of defaulting to, "I'm working on a personal research project," or "I'm taking some classes at a local community," Sam says, PHD!

(And I get it. At my age, I wanna say that I'm working on a Masters' or a Ph.D, too. Not that I, "never made it," even though I was, "considered so low-budget genius and backwoods bright.")

From the 14x13 script Dean draws back-- huh? He and Sam swap a confused glance. SAM: What-- who do you think we are? ELIOT: I-- survivalist bigfoot hitmen? Sam and Dean trade a look. SAM: No-- we're-- my brother is a mechanic and I-- I'm working on a PHD-- (exasperated) Just tell us what you saw.

I recall, very fondly, this scene with Rowena in 12x02 Mamma Mia:

INTERIOR: INSIDE A RESTAURANT. ROWENA IS SITTING AT A TABLE WITH A MAN. ROWENA: Sent me to the grandest boarding schools, but I was a wee imp and ran away for a life in the arts. Mother didn't speak to me until I became a star. BEN: A star? Of? ROWENA: Uh, do you follow the Royal Ballet? BEN SHAKES HIS HEAD. BEN: Not a bit. ROWENA: The Royal Ballet. BEN: You know, it reminds me a lot of my story. I left school to work in a steel mill. I rose up through the ranks, and now I own half a dozen. ROWENA: You're not serious? NOTE: Ben turns out to be a cad and a fraud, but there's something so interesting about how Rowena wants to portray her class background. We know from 11x10 that Rowena, "was (before magic) nothing but Rowena, the tanner's daughter... a pale, scared little girl, who smelled of filth and death."

It's a brilliant thing about Samwena. They get each other, at least as far as this is concerned.

From 15x06 Golden Time:

Hello. I wanted to say that i've been following you for some time and i find your Vietnamese Clothing for DA characters stunning. They are so beautiful and you drew them perfectly and with a style that not only make sense (for example inspiring Bethany circle robes to those of a religious order) but they are also in line with the character original style. So... it's amazing!

Thank you so much! And I'm glad you enjoy the behind-the-scenes details; those little aspects often keep me up at night, since there are aspects of the Thedas worldbuilding (especially DA2) that are quite tricky to translate to/express with Vietnamese culture. I try to embrace imperfections whenever I can, choosing which aspects about the characters to highlight and which to let loose, and yet it still took me more than a year to finish Merrill's design 😂

I realized I never drew my Vy in this AU, so here are both of my Hawkes in a picture together, with their Vietnamese names. Cirilla becomes Trác Lạc (逴躒 - roughly translated into "having outstanding abilities"), as his father wished for her to be heroic and capable, and Vy becomes Tường Vy (薔薇 - climbing rose), as Leandra wished for her to be noble and resilient.

(And yes if you send me an ask for this AU I will draw/post new art for this AU 🙌)

Does Noir Spiderman start making brief friends with other random civillians, the same way other Spiderpeople do? I know that he's more villainized than other versions, but surely a few people start to take notice of his attempts to protect people. Implying he's universally hated feels both insurmountably bleak and mean to the city itself - the people of New York aren't all one-note.

What about the people getting in trouble with cops, or those walking home at night in the dark? The man down on his luck doing stunts for money that he catches on an ill-fated climb that slipped? The photographers he joins at the top of a skycraper? The factory-workers staging protests, a once-fellow journalist being tailed?

Do some of them learn to smile when they see him, knowing helps arrived, and does he wave back?

Socmed discussions about Saltburn, to me —

1) reveal that people are even more squeamish about explicit gay sexuality than they think they are

(And if this is what passes for shocking erotic excess, then we, in the anglosphere, are in a more — not making a comment about individuals here — restrained moment with mainstream American/British adult cinema than we were with mainstream adult heterosexual cinema in the 90s, eg the erotic thriller)

And

2) suggest people are increasingly making art that is in conversation with, if not explicitly nostalgic for, the 2010-16 Tumblr-era.

(I really truly suspect Saltburn is, in part, an adaptation of the tropes and aesthetics that were in certain “The Social Network” fan spaces.)

Does Poshe have to maintain his human form or is it going to be pristine as long as the anthropomorphoizer is working as it should? I.e. would he have to eat/drink to keep the human parts going or does he just have a choice to do so if he likes? Would the Necrus generally have to consume anything? (Like vampires-blood, or zombies-brains) What effect does human food/drink, and perhaps specifically alcohol, have on him?

I think that Poshe has a choice on whether or not he eats in his human form, seeing as he is an undead alien, he didn't really have to eat before. I don't think the necrus need to eat, its kind of a personal choice that depends on whether or not they can find a way to do so (like poshe and his human form)

He prefers to, because he enjoys it and it helps him blend in

Poshe can be and is affected by alcohol, he does get drunk in the comics (and goes off and makes sinestro's robot girlfriend who he eventually steals...)
