Note
Hi I'm not sure if you're taking requests if not then please completely ignore this
If you are I was wondering how you think Hannibal Lecter might propose to his female s/o?
No Warnings!
A/N;Hi guys, hope you're having a great day. Enjoy this short imagine. Love you all.
Tumblr media
Hannibal planned this trip  a year ago and  he scheduled everything  according to it. His patients, his work with the FBI. He seemed extra prepared for this trip which made you question him. You knew his character, he was always ready for anything but this time was different.
Analyzing people rubbed off on you from him, you’ve been together for 3 years now and living together for 2 years and obviously some of his personality traits made their way to you. You weren’t sure whether  you had affected him the way he did but this last year he was more settled and sometimes carefree. Of course those occasions were pretty rare, but it was fun to see him opening another bottle of wine after being tipsy or cancelling his work just for a get away with you.
When he made the last phone call about his work he was free. ‘’We won’t be bothered anymore, my love.’’ He kissed your temple and together you left your shared home to catch the flight.
Weather in Italy, Portofino was something you needed. Baltimore was too cold for you. He rented a villa up the hills, overlooking the entire town, sea, forests, buildings. The view made you feel you belong to Portofino, maybe one day you’ll live here with him.
You were on the balcony, being in awe of the sight before you while Hannibal was being in awe of you, he hugged you from behind, kissed the tip of your ear. You giggled like a child, he loved that about you, admired your nurturing, yet, carefree spirit. He was aware that together you were in the perfect balance.
Hi hands went to your stomach, he imagined you carrying his child. Before you, he never imagined having someone in his life, of course he had some people that he saw time to time bur being in a committed relationship was something he never dared to dream. The sun was setting, he made you turned and looked at his deep maroon eyes.
He planned everything and it was time,
‘’My dearest, 3 years ago today was the first time that I saw you. You were drinking your coffee, just the way you like, and reading your book.’’
You smiled, you were reading ‘’A Philosophy of Walking’’ by Frédéric Gros, he made a comment about it, thus, you started talking about great philosophers for 2 maybe 3 hours.
‘’But we were so caught off guard by our instant chemistry that you left without bestowing me nothing but your elegant name. Thanks to my connections with the FBI, I found you.’’
You remembered the big bouquet of flowers on your work desk after a day, how scared you were…
Soon you’ve come to realize that Hannibal Lecter, even though he was the epitome of the modern gentlemen, deep down he was a hunter. He lived to chase and catch, you gave him a chase which was worth the ride.
‘’I never want to let you go, what we have is real.’’ He let go of your hands to get a ring from his pocket. You could feel the tears of happiness forming, ‘’Be mine. Forever.’’ You kissed his lips, ‘’Yes,’’ you whispered, ‘’forever.’’
Thank you for reading. :)

Oh, but was Jared REALLY in Venice with Gen? Come on, let's do the math here shall we?
June 6, 2024 Gen created this post of them in Paris, published around 6pm EST (18:00:07 to be exact), which means it was posted around 12pm in Paris.
June 6 or 7 One of these days is likely when they left Paris for Italy.
June 8, 2024 Jared was spotted here with a fan in Cinque Terre, Italy. Not sure when the Tiktok post was created but the Tumblr post here was made around 3:12pm EST or 9:12pm in Cinque Terre with the photo obviously being taken during the day
Tumblr media Tumblr media
June 9 Jared was spotted here with a fan in Portofino, Italy per that post, published around 11:56am EST (11:56:49 to be exact), or 5:56pm in Portofino.
Tumblr media
June 10 Gen created this post of her and the kids in Venice, Italy, published around 6:40pm EST (18:40:25 to be exact). Looks like quite the busy and fun eventful day here, doesn't it?
June 11, 2024 We see per the paparazzi appointment here with Gen and Jared they are dining here for lunch in Portofino, Italy. Yeah for those of you who don't read, the website clearly states on the bottom: "Click through the gallery for 40+ pictures of Jared and Genevieve Padalecki in Portofino…" this website article was published 6/11/2024 at 9:35pm EST.
Gen created this post here of being in Venice, Italy around 7:55pm EST (19:55:18 to be exact). This post notably has a video taken at night of a flooded street, as well as photos and videos taken during the daytime.
... but were they together all along, though? As you can see in the maps above, it is almost a 5 hour drive from Portofino to Venice. Same thing if you go from Cinque Terre to Venice but is only about 1 hour and 20 min from Cinque Terre to Portofino. The post made from Portofino on the 9th was created around 11:56pm EST. The post on June 10 was created around 6:40pm EST and was certainly a busy day.
Now, for those who have traveled in another country sightseeing there's probably some kind of itinerary you follow right? Making it so you travel to different cities but following a certain direction going from West to East, North to South, etc. Tell me, why on Earth would they ALL go from Portofino possibly around midday or so on the 9th, spend almost 5 hours driving to Venice, spend a day and a half in Venice, then drive all the way back to Portofino early in the morning on time for a lunch date accompanied the paparazzi?
Now if you'd like the itinerary for the 2021 trip in Italy from her Nowandgen blog, which doesn't seem to be quite in order and no dates given of where they were and when but Google maps shows the trail looks something like this. It's possible they flew from Venice to Rome or took a bus or something given the long distance between those 2 cities, since no real itinerary was given. Point is... you see the trail and have an idea of the likely order they visited the actual cities and landmarks for this trip. Now go look at the info for this 2024 trip again and tell me you can say with 100% confidence they were together this entire trip.

Finally, we're making progress with our Italian Riviera Escapade!
Flights LPL to NCE ✅
Accommodation 2 nights ✅ in Nice, due to a late flight arrival. It gives us some time to organise our rail tickets the next morning for the start of our journey the following day. Plus we will have a little exploration around Nice before we head along the coast and down towards Italy.
We're staying around this area in Nice, just a short tram ride from the airport 👇
+++++++++++ Next stop, La Spezia in the Liguria region of Italy. Our accommodation already booked for 3 nights ✅
From La Spezia, we plan to visit the Cinque Terre villages by train and on foot, as well as seeing them from below by boat (depending on time), of course 👇
Tumblr media
Above, is the village of Monterosso.
Meanwhile, we're still working on our accommodation in Rapallo (see below), which will form the major part of this particular trip....
Tumblr media
It's in the bag 🛍️ our mission is accomplished!
The last piece of the puzzle has been booked this afternoon 👌
Rapallo is sorted 👇
Below is our hotel for 5 nights.
Tumblr media
From Rapallo, we're definitely planning on taking a ferry trip to Portofino 👍
Plus, we can easily reach Genoa from here, so hopefully we will manage to find the time to slot a day visit so we can check out the building architecture.
And, look what else I found there is in Rapallo 👇👇👇

Intimacy
We had our previously-mentioned Gay friends over for dinner and, once again, booze lightened discussion topics all the way down to this lovable, if nosy pair questioning why Walt, Sarah and I weren't more forward with each other.
Sarah tried to go for diplomacy. "I think there's something more fulfilling in treating one another as something like a totality, if that makes sense. We're lovers, sure, but we're also coworkers, friends, best friends - and also mutual points of reference. Actual affection feels like the icing on the cake for me, when there's so many other ways these two guys show me love on the daily."
Walt was his usual sensual and Epicurean self. "Love needs to cook. It needs to simmer, I've found. Good on you guys if you can just go at it from the moment the alarm clock rings, but I need comfort, gratitude and love to sort of rise up to the top of the day's worth of boiling emotions. Everything gets tossed in the pot, to make that work: daily successes and failures, frustrations, annoyances, particular points of attraction..."
Our friends are of Montreal's more libertine Gay circle, comparatively. They're a couple, but they're not exclusive; and they act as though the L word could only ever refer to lust. That's a fissure that's particularly observable if you really pay attention to your local scene's LGBTQA contingent and have some friends in the community. Some of us are lovers, some of us are cuddlers - and some of us act like the eighties never ended and their local Red Light district is an open parade of flesh to consume. Crucially, we're like any other social group in that we don't always understand one another's minutiae. We can respect them, but we don't have to live them.
And, here comes my turn. I sigh and buy some time by going for a bite of Walt's apple crumble.
"Straights have a certain idea of the Gay Couple," I start. "They're fit, decently moneyed, always well dressed - and the experiential value of their existence stands in for other things Straights might recognize, like having kids or investing in a house in the suburbs. That Archetypal Gay Couple prefers to invest in luxury brands, frequent trips, maybe the occasional shot at simulated parenthood with a dog or a cat - and they wear their contentment on their sleeves. They sometimes wonder why people don't just re-jigger their finanaces on a whim - if they were able to tell their bosses to fuck off and then fly to Portofino for two weeks, then surely the Straights can too, right?"
I raise a finger. "You'll tell me this is all wrong, but I'll remind you guys you're up to your third condo renovation in fifteen years. You call yourselves a couple and then brag about finding twinks on Grindr that you then bring home and fingerquotes-added service, to use them as part of threesomes or foursomes..."
They're tense, and I can tell. They're expecting me to get judgey, and I let them stew in it for a few seconds while I drink some soda.
"Some people are happy calling casual sex within and without a consensual structure a form of love, just like some Mormon couples would do exactly what you do, just wrapped in extra layers of justification designed to appease leftover Catholic morals. I've never called Sarah a bitch to work her up, I've never called Walt a fat fuck or whatever else it is you're probably imagining, and the idea of doing what you do with the people I love rubs me the wrong way."
I shrug. "We like to think of ourselves as a big, unified movement standing up against bigotry and general misunderstanding, but the fact is we just cannot consistently understand each other - just like how I can't understand how you two are so insistent we explore your kinks, honestly."
The silence that follows is understandably heavy, but I feel Sarah's hand grip mine. Walt feels obligated to keep his hands in view, so he eventually hooks a foot against one of mine.
Let's call the older one in the couple Peter. The younger one is Bruce. Peter's the first to break out of the malaise I've instigated and nods pointedly. "Oh no, I get it - asserting boundaries makes complete sense, Grem. I'm sorry if we gave you the wrong impression; we probably lost touch with the less-demonstrative crowd from down the street, if you understand."
As Montreal has its drag kings and queens, its out-and-about Queers that aren't shy about turning their sexuality into a sizable chunk of their public image - and then there's Walt, Sarah and I, and people like us. The "stealthy LGBTQA", if you will - those of us who are indeed out to their friends and loved ones, but who chose to internalize their sexuality. I have my Bi and Pride pins, for instance, but I won't put them anytime outside of Pride season. I don't dress in the Bi flag's colors and I'd say it doesn't define the entirety of my identity. It's a good chunk of it, but it's not everything that makes up moi.
Cross me on the street and you won't peg me for a bi man. You won't peg Walt for a gay man on sight, and you won't peg Sarah for a straight woman. You'd have to get to know us to figure it out, in the absence of this blog as a handy reference point.
Bruce speaks up and things clear up instantly. "I just think it might be nice to, y'know..."
The polycule shares a glance. Peter looks remorseful while Bruce looks wounded and hopeful. I've never spotted his signs of infatuation, and I wonder if there are any. They're casual, as I've mentioned, so I have to wonder if this isn't some good old lecherous curiosity. Unfortunately, any hope I would've had to see Bruce being willing to commit to taking things at our speed is obliterated by his next sentence.
"Can I be honest? I just really wanna rail you, Grem."
Brought up like this, in that context - no. That is absolutely not my wheelhouse. I try not to get too icy seeing as this is Bruce making an effort at "friendliness" at the tail-end of an awkward conversation he and his beau initiated, but I think I can be excused if I'm a bit rigid, in-context.
"Not interested, sorry," I flatly reply.
Expectedly enough, Bruce and Peter leave quickly after accepting one token coffee cup. With boundaries having been set, I made an effort to warm things up by discussing our business plans. Peter seemed to take to this like a raft in the ocean, and was more than glad to see us take further steps to leaving the Other Place behind. That allowed us to close the door on them in an at least cordial manner, thank God.
Once they'd left, however, Walter glowers at the door. "What are we supposed to do; plaster a sign out in front that might say We've got a good thing going and aren't a Sainte-Catherine Street flophouse, thank you?!"
Sarah shrugs as she picks up the dishes. "It takes all kinds, Walt. Gay, Bi, Straight, whatever - some people are into building something that's long-lasting and others just want to feel something. It's not just in the Gay circle; you've heard Grem talk about his sad little attempt to visit a strip club after graduating."
I scoff and shake my head. "Some of these dancers were Postgrad students of their own. Some patrons were there to ogle at a respectable distance, others just really wanted sex. These were Straight people, Walt."
I pause to start scrubbing a plate in the sink. "Technically, I've never actually wanted to have sex with either of you, if I'm honest. What I've always wanted was to have someone to love, and to be loved."
That gets Walt to stop and give me a long and thoughtful look. After a few seconds, there's a smile underneath his mustache.
"I never thought of us in these terms before. I approve, honestly."
Sarah, of course, has to deliberately dull that moment of attempted emotional and perceptual depth with a joke.
"Bruce's idea of casual sex is weird, anyway. A little fellatio while the S.O's cutting veggies for supper, a little early-evening anal for cardio, one or two good pumps in the shower, followed by his attempt at Tantric sex, which probably stops at frenzied frottage while mumbling om mani padme om."
Sarah keeps building on this, to the point where we're left cackling and have a hard time being efficient with what's left in the sink.

Know the Traffic Rules: Pune’s traffic can be challenging, especially during peak hours. Familiarize yourself with local traffic rules, and be prepared for narrow lanes, busy streets, and two-wheelers navigating around you.
Use GPS and Maps: Pune and its surrounding areas are well-connected by roads, but it’s easy to miss a turn or take a wrong exit. Using GPS navigation or a reliable map app can help you stay on track and reach your destination without any hassles.

WEEK 9: FINAL REFLECTIONS
Last blog for this summer wow! After studying abroad in my host city of Prague for 8 weeks, it’s time to do some reflection and leave you guys with my takeaways and advice. This journey has been so incredible and life changing, so I want to wrap up with a couple of the lessons I’ve learned. Before I jump into my final reflections, I’m going to give a quick update on my travels following my program’s end.
After giving my mom and my sister a little tour of Prague, we headed to Paris! With the 2024 Olympics in full swing, this city was soooo busy as expected. London was our next stop. We managed to squeeze in most of the touristy spots and do tons of shopping for the few days we were there. My mom headed home after London, while my sister and I ended our Europe tour with a vacation in the picturesque coasts of Italy. The two of us spent the next days relaxing in the beach towns near Genoa and Portofino before I finally traveled back home to LA.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though this trip with my family was amazing, it also resulted in three stolen laptops (thank you AirFrance), two canceled flights, one night spent at London’s airport, and hundreds of dollars that need to be reimbursed by various airlines. Our travel nightmares explain why this blog, as well as my previous one, were delayed. But, this is a good segway into my tips for people who are looking into studying abroad or traveling in the future:
1. Be ready to adapt to change.
Traveling internationally is not always going to go so smoothly, so always be prepared to face challenges. Whether it be figuring out how to deal with a transportation hiccup or navigating a new environment that’ll be a temporary home, it’s important to recognize that problem-solving is a skill that will further develop and get easier with time and an open mind. Taking on international study abroad is a whole challenge in itself, but it’s one that’ll help you step out of your comfort zone and gain new experiences.
2. Do your research!
The biggest step in preparing for new cities and countries is doing some research beforehand. I found that the most enjoyable trips that I had were because I went in with a plan and an adequate understanding of the places I visited. Questions I would ask yourself and the Internet include: What do you want to get out of this city? How do you make the most of your time there? What does your budget for this trip look like? Correspondingly, what are the prices like in this city? What are the most important sites or historical places to visit? What types of food is the city most known for? What are the basic phrases in the country’s language? How does public transportation work? Doing your research will make your travels go more smoothly and allow you to have cross-cultural interactions.
3. Be wary of your expenses.
I feel like this one is kind of a no-brainer, but if it needs to be said: traveling is expensive! Most people reading my blog are probably students like me. So like me, you're also trying to ball out on a budget. Before taking on your study abroad experience, I strongly suggest figuring out how much money you have to spend on what and how you can allocate your money as best as you can. For example, one thing that saved me a lot of money traveling to different countries is investing in a Eurail pass. Eurail is a high-speed train pass that gets you access to the complex train network in Europe and makes it simpler to travel to countries all over. Learning how to budget was another huge lesson that studying abroad taught me.
4. Have fun and take advantage of every opportunity!!
Last but certainly not least, studying abroad is the best time to make so many new memories and meet new people. The places I’ve been to, people I’ve met, and experiences that I’ve had will stick with me forever. Traveling to 11 different cities in the span of 11 weeks is something that not a lot of people get the chance to say that they’ve done, so one of my biggest takeaways is to make the most out of your international experience!! The friendships that I have built, both with the people in my program and with the travelers that I’ve met from all over the world, are lifelong.
I want to end with some of my favorite aspects of my program and my host city:
My program through IPE and CEA CAPA:
I absolutely love the program that I studied abroad through and encourage every student to look into the programs that IPE and CEA CAPA offer. CEA CAPA made acclimating to a whole new environment so much easier. The housing accommodation they provided for me, which was an apartment with four other girls in my program, allowed me to get a taste of what it’s like to live in Prague as a local. The learning experiences that the courses Linear Algebra and Art & Architecture in the Golden City brought me were invaluable. All the professors and faculty at CEA CAPA made a huge effort to build connections with the students and give us all the best time abroad. The dynamic learning approach that CEA CAPA takes on gives students the opportunity to further their education while growing a deeper appreciation for different cultures. I can confidently say that I feel better suited to approach problems from multiple perspectives, both in a professional setting and in my overall life.
Furthermore, I really appreciate how my program prioritizes students’ study abroad experiences by giving the flexibility for us to travel to other countries. On top of my academic coursework, it wasn’t difficult for my friends and I to find time to go to different cities with different cultures and histories. I feel like being able to travel to so many diverse places truly completed my international study abroad experience. These travels improved my adaptability, communication, and leadership skills in a global context, and I’m eager to be able to carry what I’ve learned with me into my future career.
My beautiful host city of Prague:
For any students looking into studying abroad, Prague is a great option for your temporary home! Prague had such an ideal blend of rich history and culture, welcoming people, convenient transportation, and affordable living. There was never a shortage of things to do in this city, whether it be visiting the historical Prague Castle or chilling at a beer garden with friends. Along with the place itself, the locals were just as hospitable. Living in a more local area of Prague allowed me to interact with locals on a daily basis, which were definitely highlights of my days. From walking to tramming to metroing to bussing, it was also very easy to get around the city. Not only are these public services convenient, but they were very well-maintained and clean as well. By the end of my program, I could probably get from my apartment to the CEA CAPA center with my eyes closed.
As a student, I felt that Prague’s prices were very budget friendly, especially compared to some of the other countries I visited. Meals could cost me as low as $5 and up to around $15. Even beer was typically as cheap as water. And in terms of safety, I always felt very safe in my host city. Even if I was walking around alone late at night, feeling unsafe was never a concern. My program also ensured beforehand that all the students had emergency numbers handy.
All in all, studying abroad in Prague was everything that I hoped for and more. For my first time in Europe, I can without a doubt share that I have made countless memories this summer living in a whole new country while taking on new experiences and challenges. Every single up and down taught me a new life lesson. I urge every student to look into furthering their education through an international study abroad experience. If you have any questions regarding study abroad or anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out to me!! My email is always open ([email protected]). Thank you for reading my last blog and keeping up with my journey throughout this summer!!! Na shledanou!

Days 89-90 And that’s a wrap on the gap quarter…
as we head from Tangier to Madrid via Ryanair, spend a short night at a hotel (with the most comfy bed in a while) and start the long haul home via Hong Kong.
This was the longest holiday I’ve had, previously a couple of 8 week stints. And the longest solo travel at 9 weeks, previous one 8 weeks.
I was particularly pleased when Rose joined me, not only for the shared memories and experience but also I’m not sure I would have been as confident, or the experience as enjoyable, in Morocco on my own.
In the future I definitely want more of staying in the one place for longer and feeling less rushed, and less time wasted and less stress of packing and repacking. I’m up for more car hire to provide flexibility and keep those neurons firing.
In the future I definitely want less baggage 🥴
I’m not much of a blogger or writer and I started doing Tumblr blogs on my first solo trip to Europe. It helps me stay present; and maybe one day my future grandkids might read it and be inspired to travel too.
I do appreciate those who patiently listened to my pre-planning that went on for months, maybe over a year, as I kept changing my mind 🥴 and for all of you who checked in on me and read my ramblings, and for your encouraging comments along the way. Not everyday was emotionally easy, but I didn’t want to bore you with my inner demons!
For those wondering, I did finish the book, "Mrs Winterbottom takes a Gap Year", way back. It was a very easy read and there was nothing too profound to be honest. Bec Wilson (Prime Time podcaster) recommended I read it before I travelled, I'm not sure why. Spoiler alert, Mrs Winterbottom and her husband retired from their general practice and struggled to find their new norm. She wanted an overseas adventure, he wanted to build a huge veggie garden and stay at home, having travelled in his youth. She went without him, on the advice of a friend who sadly passed. She took the ashes of her friend and headed to Greece. She had an emotional connection with a Greek sailor. Her husband and adult children surprised her by showing up. She reconciled things with her husband, they travelled around in the boat they bought off said Greek sailor and her insight from the Greek experience was that volunteering / mentoring younger doctors could be fulfilling in retirement.
Now I met no Greek sailor, but someone better, Rosie from Halifax. We certainly have a connection and many shared experiences, including bursts of laughter over our incontinence and much more 😂 Thank you Rosie for making my gap quarter that much more exciting and pleasurable.
What's next for me...while I was away my job changed (I'm going back to Social Security & Welfare, this time a stint in contact centres). I'm not unhappy about this, although I will miss "my" peeps in Health. I will be living out of suitcases until late August as I rented out my room! I have a long weekend in Townsville for Keely's birthday, a long weekend in Cairns to catch up with my former EA, a plan to go to Vietnam after Christmas and hopefully meet up with Rosie and a plan to go to India with another friend in March. Pending finances and anything else that might pop up, I'd like to spend my next European vacation in the south of Italy, seeing Sicily, Palermo, Portofino, Puglia and surrounds. Any tips greatly appreciated XXX

Top 10 Italian villages with breathtaking views
Tumblr media
Beautiful towns nestle among Italy's gorgeous landscapes, providing a visual feast for the soul. These Italian hamlets, ornamented with cobblestone walkways and situated against rolling hills or perched atop cliffs, provide a captivating background that defies time. Encircled by breathtaking views that encapsulate the essence of Italy's splendour, we journey through these bucolic paradises. From the northern regions to the southern shores, each community has its own narrative to tell, showing Italy's eternal appeal. Whether it's the terracotta roofs against the backdrop of vineyards, the turquoise seas cradling coastal settlements, or the spectacular mountain panoramas, these landscapes elicit a sense of calm and wonder.
Discovering these Italian towns is like walking into a postcard, with each turn revealing a fresh sight that captivates the heart. As we travel through these wonderful settings, we are more than just visitors; we are players in a visual symphony choreographed by nature and human artistry. Join us on this journey through Italian towns, where spectacular views bear witness to the country's ageless attractiveness, encouraging us to experience the simple yet deep beauty that marks these lovely corners of Italy.
Here are Italian villages with breathtaking views.
1. Manarola: A colorful fishing town atop a rocky ledge: Manarola is one of the oldest and most populated villages in the Ligurian Cinque Terre coastal area. From the top of the rocky cliff, stacks and blocks of 12th-century homes in various pastel tints overlook the little bay. You may go down to the bay to get a better look and participate in a variety of leisure activities, such as boating or swimming in the stunning blue seas. Follow the trail along the neighbouring cliff west from the harbour to reach the best view of the entire town, which is beautiful both day and night.
 2. Portofino: The Dolphin Port: This fishing community dates back to ancient Roman times and is known as the "Port of Dolphins" due to the abundance of sea creatures that visit the area. Nowadays, the bay area is studded with rows of fishing boats and royal superyachts softly bobbing over the tranquil waters, yet it remains a picturesque and peaceful spot to visit. A beautiful cobblestone courtyard overlooks the little harbour and is packed with modest cafés and restaurants, while the Chiesa di San Martino stands high on the verdant hillside, its campanile towering over the port.
 3. Matera: City of Stone: In Basilicata, one of Italy's driest areas, Matera stands out as a medieval "stone city," fittingly dubbed "Sassi" ('stones' in Italian). It seems beautiful from a distance, with a sequence of stone houses cut out of the rocky mountain. From up close, when you walk down the stone roads and stairways that connect one level to the next, you may notice stone towers these are really chimneys from buildings beneath your feet! Although attractive, this is a desolate city. Living circumstances were bad, and it was eventually evacuated in 1952.
  4. Castelmezzano: A beautiful town built into a mountain: Castelmezzano is one of Italy's most distinctive historic settlements, with the majority of its structures and interconnected walkways carved into the mountain's curves and rocky terrain. The town is located in the Basilicata area, approximately two hours east of Naples, among the jagged peaks of the Lucanian Dolomites. The beautiful backdrop is made up of rocky characteristics, which are best seen while driving towards the rural region. After seeing the little village, consider taking the Angel Flight, an amazing zipline trip across the mountainous valley that connects Castelmezzano with Pietrapertosa.
5. Positano: One of the treasures of the Amalfi Coast: Positano, one of the most stunning communes along the Amalfi Coast, is well worth the train and bus trip from Naples. Admire the stunning view of the village's colorful buildings situated on the cliffs. Down below, you'll discover a pebbly shoreline with steep and narrow slopes, where you may get a drink at any of the cafés while admiring the scenery. Positano has inspired and captured the hearts of many, including famous superstars like Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
 6. Vernazza: One of Cinque Terre's quaintest villages: Vernazza, one of the five Cinque Terre beach villages, captivates visitors with its picturesque backdrop of colorful cottages packed together above the charming harbour. Cobbled pathways lead up to a nearby hillside, from where you may enjoy a spectacular view of the harbor town. Via Roma, for example, is dotted with little cafés where you may enjoy a cappuccino while admiring the view, and it is conveniently accessible to major seaside attractions such as Piazza Marconi.
7.Bellagio: Gorgeous lakefront town: Bellagio is a lakeside town on Lake Como that blends the traditional and contemporary. Modern 5-star resorts and amenities are located beside charming harbourfront promenades replete with cafés and chic apparel and jewelry businesses. A series of steep and abrupt steps twist through cobblestoned pathways, taking you to some of the town's most notable attractions. These include the Romanesque San Giacomo Church and the stunning 18th-century Villa Serbelloni, which is a favorite place for panoramic views of Lake Como.
 8. Corricella: The idyllic Italian island lifestyle: Corricella is a beautiful seaside town on Procida, a tiny island off the coast of Naples. You may wander along the promenades, with the marina in constant view. The residences on the cliffside have colorful color schemes, which add to the village's attractive appearance. Via Vittorio Emanuele is a lovely, quiet pedestrian route dotted with modest stores and cafés. You may also explore the meandering and cobblestone residential streets that lead to several of Corricella's landmarks, like the Santa Margherita Monastery.
 9. Varenna: The idyllic center of Lake Como: Varenna, located about a 15-minute boat journey northeast of Bellagio, is another charming village to visit on Lake Como. You may take picturesque walks along its lakeside promenade, visit some of its majestic and ancient structures up on the hillsides, such as Villa Monastero and Castello Vezio, or simply relax with coffee or pasta at the small but charming port. The local government is particular about preserving its beauty, so even repainting the local houses surrounding the lake requires official permission.
10.San Gimignano: An ancient city under the Tuscan sun: In Tuscany's old hilltop town of San Gimignano, a series of bell towers and buttresses rise above the medieval homes. Soak in the atmosphere of this lovely city from its triangular square, the busy square della Cisterna. From here, you may see some of the key sites established by the Knights of Malta and wander the tiny lanes lined with local traders displaying their most exquisite porcelainware and ceramics.
 Conclusion
The journey through Italian towns with stunning vistas is a mesmerizing experience that leaves lasting recollections of incomparable beauty. From the enchanted northern areas to the sun-kissed southern coastlines, these settlements create a beautiful symphony of terracotta roofs, turquoise waterways, and spectacular mountain panoramas.
For those who want to immerse themselves in the beautiful appeal, acquiring an Italy visa from Delhi provides access to these lovely havens. As visitors explore the cobblestone alleys and absorb the ageless appeal, the visa becomes the key to unlocking the splendour that these Italian villages possess. The simple yet profound beauty of these landscapes goes beyond basic images, becoming a lyrical reflection of Italy's rich cultural fabric. Each hamlet, with its spectacular vistas, encourages us to halt, enjoy, and participate in a tale told by nature and human innovation. So, whether it's the vineyards of Tuscany or the seaside pearls of Amalfi, these settlements are everlasting testaments to Italy's majesty, where every view is a masterpiece and every moment is a celebration of beauty.

Italian Escapade: revised aka Plan 'B'
If you follow my account on X (formerly known as Twitter), you may recall I mentioned we were doing some juggling of our itinerary...
Plan 'B' image source: Unsplash
The accommodations are booked!
NOTE: links to information in the blog post are in blue.
Tumblr media
The Arrival 🇫🇷
NCE Airport, one night due to a late arrival and in readiness for the Flixbus journey to Genoa 🇮🇹 the next morning. It takes approximately 3 hours, depending upon your chosen departure time.
Tumblr media
Next Stop: Genoa
Flixbus terminates close to the Piazza Principe train station in the centre of the city and from here, we make our way across (probably by Metro) to Piazza de Ferrari with its fabulous fountain.
Arriving in Genoa a little after 13:00hrs, means we should arrive at our next accommodation in perfect time to check-in to our private room with an internal bathroom at Marathon Beds and Beer Hostel.
Tumblr media
We've never stopped in hostel accommodation even though we have been travelling together since the early 1990s.
It took me 2 days before I showed it to my husband - but we both agree it seems to have a good vibe and it's in the perfect position for the short time we have in the city.
We made our reservation through Booking.com but it's also listed on Hostel World too.
As I'm writing my 'Trip Plan' I just came across this Free guided tour on Get Your Guide.
It lasts approximately 2hrs and, I believe the process of free tours is the participants are expected to leave the guide a Tip at the end.
It sounds interesting but we will do some more reading on it, before coming to a decision.
<---0--->
We will depart Genoa around lunchtime the following day for our next destination (this is the Plan 'B').
The hostel is a few minutes walk from Brignole train station, which is very handy as our next stop is a direct route by rail.
Day 3: Rapallo (5 nights) 🇮🇹
Finally, we arrive at the destination where we will explore Cinque Terre (5 Lands), famous for their multicoloured buildings which line the rugged Ligurian coastline and are scattered over a fairly short distance from each other along a popular hiking trail.
We changed our plans completely for this part of our trip as we had originally booked to stay in La Spezia for the Cinque Terre.
We began to realise we were overstretching ourselves to make the journey directly back to the Cote d'Azur, before taking our flight back home.
It would have impacted the overall enjoyment hence, ruling out La Spezia.
So, we decided to treat ourselves to an accommodation in a most scenic spot 👇
Tumblr media
We completed our reservation using Hotels.com as part of the OneKeyCash rewards scheme.
Here's what TripAdvisor says about the Hotel Italia e Lido:

<---0--->
What is the Cinque Terre?
A series of storied coastal towns on the untamed Italian Riviera coastline is known as Cinque Terre.
The five towns that comprise the Cinque Terre: Rimaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia not accessible by boat, Vernazza and Monterosso were first fortified settlements during the Middle Ages. Each was shielded from Saracen raiders by a castle that overlooked the sea. You can expect to see vibrant colourful houses and vineyards clinging to steep terraces in each of the five towns; fishing boats moor in the harbours; and trattorias serve up seafood specialties and pesto, the region's signature sauce. The Sentiero Azzurro hiking trail connects the villages and provides panoramic views of the sea or; you can opt to visit most of them by boat.
What Else?
Well, we're not entirely all planned out day by day, we like to make things up as we go along. 'Travel' for us - is not all about schedules and ticking boxes of 'must see' places.
But, we do know we want to pay a visit to Portofino - mainly caused by a TV period drama series a year or so ago "Hotel Portofino."
We hope to reach Portofino by one of the local ferry routes, but a lot will depend upon the seasonal weather, which will dictate the sailing operational times. If not, there's always a bus!
Back to GENOA:
Oh yes, we haven't quite said 'arriverderci' to Genoa just yet.
We've bagged ourselves a rather nice 2 bedroomed apartment, via Booking.com even though we were really looking at budget accommodation for this part of the trip - but our hearts were stolen by places we wanted to live in - permanently!
Tumblr media
And this my friends, is why we've steered quite clear of Italy for many years - we absolutely know, it's going grab a tight hold and not let go. We're assuming there will be lots of revisits in between our other trips.
So perhaps we will get to experience that 2 hour guided tour after all... We will be located in the Centro Storico area of Genoa, which means heaps of wonderful building architecture to feast our eyes upon!
<---0--->
Final Days:
We finish up back in Nice, on the Promenade des Anglais where we will have a couple of days to explore an area that will be a 'first' for us both.
Tumblr media
It provides us with the opportunity to wander along the promenade, or travel on the trams into the Nice Ville and Vieux Nice as well.
Nice is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean coast and the second-largest city in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region after Marseille. It's situated at the base of the French Alps, on the French Riviera, the southeast coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea.
Tumblr media
It's also around 13kms distance from Monaco, which I have visited, but many years ago when I was in my early 20s.
If we like, it's an easy enough destination for us to reach from our favourite UK airport - so we can always hop on a two and a half hour flight whenever the fancy takes us.
That's all folks and thank you for reading.
The next updates will arrive during and after our travels.

Hi! I’ve followed you on my personal for quite some time, I think you’re so incredible and your blog is one of the blogs that inspired me to finally make this one for my sims! Any advice for how you choose which photos and parts of your sims stories to post? Thank you in advance and I hope you have a lovely day 🫶🏼
First of all, hi, how're ya? Second of all, I'm so flattered that I inspired you to join the community, it really warms my heart. Welcome to the Simblr community though!
I mean, with stories, I'm really careless I'm not gonna lie. If I think of something in the moment, I do it. Like India & Hendrix's trip to Italy was not a planned idea at all. I just thought of it one day and said hey, lets make this part of their story. I think what's more important to me is the lots so it feels like what I want to capture, i.e. Portofino, Italy.
Basically, I'm free as a bird. Be as free as a bird when it comes to your content. It doesn't have to be fully planned, just be creative.
I hope this helps!
