What is a Crypto Portfolio Manager, and Why Do You Need One?
Managing your crypto portfolio can be daunting if you are a cryptocurrency investor in the United States. With government regulations being implemented across the cryptocurrency space, maintaining a keen insight on your profits and losses is of increasing importance. While the minority of meticulous traders maintain manual records, innovation in the space is helping to remove the hassle with automation. . This is where a crypto portfolio manager comes in.
Benefits of a Crypto Portfolio Manager
A cryptocurrency portfolio manager is a tool that helps investors track and manage their cryptocurrency investments. Here are some advantages of using a cryptocurrency portfolio manager:
Automated Tracking and Analysis: Automatically manage your crypto transactions and gain real-time insights about your portfolio. This helps you stay on top of your investments and make informed decisions for the allocation of funds.
Real-Time Market Data: Cryptocurrency is a 24.7 market with thousands of cryptocurrencies being traded on hundreds of exchanges worldwide. A cryptocurrency portfolio manager provides real-time market data, serving as a vital tool to help you anticipate the market.
Risk Management: Insights into the performance of your portfolio can help you find opportunities and diversify your investments. By understanding the share certain assets make up in your wider portfolio, you can plan further market moves while balancing your preferences for risk and security.
Features to Look for in a Crypto Portfolio Manager
When choosing a cryptocurrency portfolio manager, here are some of the features to look for:
Integration with Exchanges: Look for a portfolio manager that integrates with your exchanges. This will aid in automating transactions and eliminating the risk of human error.
Security: Look for a portfolio manager that takes security seriously and offers features such as two-factor authentication, encryption, and secure storage.
Reporting and Analytics: A good portfolio manager should provide reporting and analytics tools to help you analyze your portfolio's performance and make informed investment decisions.

Integration with exchanges: Descrypt integrates with over 20 leading exchanges, making it easy for investors to track their portfolios across multiple exchanges.

Rebecca Roque’s “Till Human Voices Wake Us”
I'm touring my new, nationally bestselling novel The Bezzle! Catch me in TOMORROW (Apr 17) in CHICAGO, then Torino (Apr 21) Marin County (Apr 27), Winnipeg (May 2), Calgary (May 3), Vancouver (May 4), and beyond!
"Till Human Voices Wake Us" is Rebecca Roque's debut novel: it's a superb teen thriller, intricately plotted and brilliantly executed, packed with imaginative technological turns that amp up the tension and suspense:
https://www.blackstonepublishing.com/till-human-voices-wake-us-gn3a.html#541=2790108
Modern technology presents a serious problem for a thriller writer. Once characters can call or text one another, a whole portfolio of suspense-building gimmicks – like the high-speed race across town – just stop working. For years, thriller writers contrived implausible – but narratively convenient – ways to go on using these tropes. Think of the shopworn "damn, my phone is out of battery/range just when I need it the most":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIZVcRccCx0
When that fails, often writers just lean into the "idiot plot" – a plot that only works because the characters are acting like idiots:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiot_plot
But even as technology was sawing a hole in the suspense writer's bag of tricks, shrewd suspense writers were cooking up a whole new menu of clever ways to build suspense in ways that turn on the limitations and capabilities of technology. One pioneer of this was Iain M Banks (RIP), whose 2003 novel Dead Air was jammed with wildly ingenious ways to use cellphones to raise the stakes and heighten the tension:
https://web.archive.org/web/20030302073539/http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/11.03/play.html?pg=8
This is "techno-realism" at its best. It's my favorite mode of storytelling, the thing I lean into with my Little Brother and Martin Hench books – stories that treat the things that technology can and can't do as features, not bugs. Rather than having the hacker "crack the mainframe's cryptography in 20 minutes when everyone swears it can't be done in less than 25," the techno-realist introduces something gnarlier, like a supply-chain attack that inserts a back-door, or a hardware keylogger, or a Remote Access Trojan.
Back to Roque's debut novel: it's a teen murder mystery told in the most technorealist way. Cia's best friend Alice has been trying to find her missing boyfriend for months, and in her investigation, she's discovered their small town's dark secret – a string of disappearances, deaths and fires that are the hidden backdrop to the town's out-of-control addiction problem.
Alice has something to tell Cia, something about the fire that orphaned her and cost her one leg when she was only five years old, but Cia refuses to hear it. Instead, they have a blazing fight, and part ways. It's the last time Cia and Alice ever see each other: that night, Alice kills herself.
Or does she? Cia is convinced that Alice has been murdered, and that her murder is connected to the drug- and death-epidemic that's ravaging their town. As Cia and her friends seek to discover the town's secret – and the identity of Alice's killer – we're dragged into an intense, gripping murder mystery/conspiracy story that is full of surprises and reversals, each more fiendishly clever than the last.
But as good as the storytelling, the characterization and the mystery are, Roque's clever technological gambits are even better. This book is a master-class in how a murder mystery can work in the age of social media and ubiquitous mobile devices. It's the first volume in a trilogy and it ends on a hell of a cliff-hanger, too.

🎃 October status update
Alright! finished organizing all the commissions and on informing everyone of what place they got!
here's the commission progress tracker, now with this new batch included , the previous batch can still be seen also!
As a bit of a remainder, I put at the top the commissions with less characters involved and at the bottom the ones with more ( and if they have background), this way I start with relatively more simple requests and I work on the more complex ones as I progress.
The new batch is now is for the last 3 months, because even if finishing it on 2 months would be the ideal, there's still a possibility I take a little longer, but also because it's still quite a big batch lol
Originally I really wanted to finish these in one month and I wasn't going to open so many slots for the sketch page so I had November and December free. But I changed my mind for a couple of reasons, 😅 still I would like to have at least December very free, so I'll do my best to finish most of these before December is here ╰( ̄ω ̄o)
🎃 August /September commissions
- As for the batch I got on August, I'm almost finished! there's one illustration commission to finish and technically 3 and a half sketch pages to finish, which I hope I can mostly complete this week so the next one I can start with the new batch!
I haven't decided yet when I'll be opening commissions again next year, I want to be able to use my portfolio next year so I'll have to think about it and plan things up for sure! ^^ though I have some ideas for maybe new commission types, but we'll see!
that's all for now, hope you have a nice evening and a nice October!

how’d u get into doin zines? i wanna get into doin zines myself but feel kind of intimidated!
Or even making charms and merch n stuff. i know the only way to do something is to actually just go ahead and do it, but i thought it couldnt hurt to ask!
the best way to start taking part in zines is just to take the plunge and start sending in applications!!! Usually in the app forms they ask for three of your best pieces and then a link to a portfolio where you can show additional stuff, so it's also good practice for building one (make sure to include pieces with backgrounds if you're planning to apply as a page artist); the issue is that a lot of the zine trackers I used back in the day arent active anymore, and even the one that is (atozines) doesn't track every project because the mods of said project have to send their app in,,, so you kinda have to do your own search for zines to apply for, when you remember to
making merch is also its own can of worms, you need to get info about your shipping options, possible manufacturers, find a good storefront, etc etc 😔 if you want to make merch and try for zines though, you could try applying as a merch artist! I joined my first zine as one, and it was super fun!
also as a side note, you might not get picked for zines immediately, which is discouraging (I had my fair share of rejections and god it did hurt) BUT do not give up! keep working on that portfolio, and good luck!!!

YLP Log
Sorry I didn't post this last night, I wanted to get to bed early to try and counteract the jet lag, pictures from America will go up soon.
Monday 28/10/24 - 352 days left of YLP
ATE - 2099 cals
Breakfast - shreddies and pomegranate
Lunch - bagel with salsa and guacamole, crisps, fruit and cookies
Dinner - vegetarian chilli con carne
EXTRA-CURRICULARS
ASOC - my friends run our schools ASOC so I went along to watch, they talked about African culture which was really interesting, and we did an African flags quiz.
CCF - watched some presentations for people military knowledge exams, I think mine is next week
WORK
RMPS - My friend has dropped physics and joined my RMPS class which I'm happy about because now I have another friend to study with for RMPS. We had some written work to do on different schools of thought surrounding crime and punishment and I finished it in the first half hour, then I had a nap.
Double English - We went over our portfolio essays, I liked my feedback from my teacher it was useful and easy to comprehend, though the amount of punctuation mistakes I didn't spot was emberassing.
Latin - genuinely couldn't tell you what we did, I was doing admin while I think he was trying to teach us something about verbs?
History - Took some notes on the Battle of Falkirk. I'm really loving medieval Scotland as a topic, it's very interesting. I got my essay on the reasons for social reform back and I did badly. My C is not terribly shocking given how rushed I was when I wrote that essay and I didn't write a conclusion at all
Homework - had a really productive evening, I did some organising for my habit tracker and productivity and food logs and then I finished my Project Write Up, I might post some stuff from this up here because my topic (does any one country have the right to hold their morals as the global standard) was really interesting, to the extent where I spent far more time reading than writing
EXERCISE
I never really have time on a Monday because I leave early to drop my cello off in the music building and I get home really late often with lots of homework.
