Highlights from the entire MCYT Sexyman Tournament

Before the Tournament Began (Nomination Phase):

-Goodtimeswithscar getting over 2000 nominations for the poll

-Two people's minecraft ocs were nominated, and one of those ocs actually got into the competition

-The runners of the poll telling people not to tell the CCs about this, only for every CC to find out about this poll and start rallying their fans to vote for them

-Joe Hills got very jealous that Scar had more votes than him to the point where he literally used Tumblr Blaze to promote himself, and posted a video of him swimming in a pool on his blog

-Technodad also encouraging people to vote for his son after finding out about the polls

The Main Tournament:

-Dream getting absolutely decked by Seepeekay (deserved)

-Clownpierce and Tubbo's poll ending in 50% by 50% where the people running the poll had to go into the polls literal code to find out that Clownpierce won by only 18 votes

-Clownpierce getting beaten out by Aimsey in Round 2 immediately afterwards

-Quackity and Schlatt losing their polls at first, only for people to churn out propaganda, and getting them the wins by very close calls

-The Dominion SMP fandom made alliances with other fandoms (the Lifesteal fandom being one of them) to try and get Vikingpilot more votes

-JimmySolidarity looking at the polls and seeing that someone called him a "wet paper bag of a man"

-Martyn voting for his friends in the polls

-One Tumblr blog made a straight up news channel for the polls

-Someone else also made an easier way to read votes on polls

-Another person converted the voting data into line graphs

-Scott calling Jimmy a queerbaiter when their characters went up against each other

-The Scar vs Techno fight, the Wilbur vs Joe fight, and the Grian vs Quackity fight, all happening in the same round

-Huge amounts of voter fraud

-Grian winning his fight with Quackity, only for Quackblr to change the tides in the last few minutes (perhaps one of the craziest fights I have ever seen)

-The poll made it onto Tumblr trending

-Quackblr made an alliance with the Ethogirls, which eventually led to fanart of Quackity and Etho together, along with a few "infamous" edited photos (you know what I'm talking about)

-The voter fraud in the poll eventually lead to the possibility of Tumblr actually dealing with the pornbot situation

-The whole entire event had powerpoint presentations for peoples favorite blorbos, propaganda, fanart, alliances, even a few written oneshots

-Literally just every poll with Quackity

-Other people made polls inspired by this one (@mcytblrcringefail as one example)

-The fact that the poll literally revived the entire fandom

-The poll became canon in Jimmy’s 30 day Minecraft Hardcore server

-And most importantly, Joe Hills, the one MCYT who did the most campaigning, won the polls against Scar

What is silly game time?

Silly Game Time is my one-man campaign to revive the fun ask culture Tumblr used to have. It has faltered over the years due to users probably getting older and busier, incursions of pornbots that made users wary of asks from unfamiliar blogs, and influxes of users from websites that weren't about user engagement (Tumblr is a blogging platform at its core, unlike Twitter or Instagram, etc.). Because I miss it, honestly.

It's also my humble attempt to make my corner of the world a better, more light-hearted place. I've no money to donate to fundraisers, no political clout to dedicate to good causes. All I have are silly, fun questions to send to people who cross my digital path--people who, I figure, are in a similar position to me.

And voila. That's what Silly Game Time is.

The state of social media in 2024.

Facebook is an old folks home of suggested posts and ads that's become a ghost town

Twitter has become an unusable flaming dumpster fire filled with nazis, cryptobros, OF/pornbots, paid bluechecks engagement farming, AI bot accounts, gore videos autoplaying, and is just a mess.

Instagram is all just ads, suggested posts, and reels now.

Tumblr has had an alright revival.

I've never used TikTok once, so I don't know anything about it to speak on it.

Threads, I'm waiting on it to get better. It's still trying to find its identity since it's not even a year old yet. I will say it's kind of boring, but less toxic than Twitter and Instagram.

Pokemon Cafe Remix Team Recruitment

So, yeah, not sure how effective this will be, but it is better nothing. Currently, in the game there is an Alolan Vulpix Event. I’ve gotten over 11,000 candies, but isn’t really getting me to the higher tiers in the prize department. I would quit the team and join a more active one, but there is only two days left in the event and you have to wait 24 hours before joining a new team. So seeing if my followers (that aren’t pornbots) can help bring up the numbers.

I had a dream last night

Tumblr staff members were getting fed up with all the fighting so they decided the solution was to straight up delete the blogs of everybody who had either reblogged/created a post with 4k+ notes.

People were getting mad and trying to either revive tumblr or get around the rules. Major/Popular blogs also reacted by creating account after account.

I woke up really confused because I was pretty sure @one-time-i-dreamt was taken over by pornbots during the whole situation.

By now, most of you may have heard that @staff released an announcement stating that all NSFW content will be deleted from tumblr. This is copied from their Adult Content article:

What is "adult content?"

Adult content primarily includes photos, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples, and any content—including photos, videos, GIFs and illustrations—that depicts sex acts.

What is still permitted?

Examples of exceptions that are still permitted are exposed female-presenting nipples in connection with breastfeeding, birth or after-birth moments, and health-related situations, such as post-mastectomy or gender confirmation surgery. Written content such as erotica, nudity related to political or newsworthy speech, and nudity found in art, such as sculptures and illustrations, are also stuff that can be freely posted on Tumblr.

Personally, I feel like this is just an excuse to be as lazy as possible when trying to purge pornbots, and it’s failing as spectacularly as everyone expected. Let’s take a look at, oh I don’t know, @wilwheaton for a moment.

Here’s a post that depicted no nudity, no real-life human genitals, no female-presenting nipples, no content that depicted a sex act, yet it was flagged explicit. It did not, in any way, show anything that was considered to be “adult content” that was defined by @staff, and yet it was still flagged. Can you guess why?

Here’s another, though I imagine an argument could be made of one--ONE--of the photos shown, but that’s not the point. The point is that it still fit the guidelines, and was flagged. I wonder why.

But it doesn’t stop there. A friend of mine had their entire account terminated because of a sweater. A sweater. Not a woman wearing a sweater and showing a female-presenting nipple, not a sweater hanging off of a very erect cock... a sweater. I’d post the picture in question, but I’m too afraid of this post getting flagged because of it.

Which leads me to the heart of the matter in which I’m writing: the future of DGS.

First, I must apologize for the time that I’ve been away. My mental state has been in decline for the past two years, and all of my attempts to right myself have not been working; if anything, all I’ve done is slow or stop the descent, but nothing has been lifting me back up in any manageable fashion. I have tried my best to stay silent about what happened that caused this shift, out of respect. I don’t want an explanation of the events be turned into a retribution of sorts, because even if that was something I wanted, it wouldn’t change anything.

The fact is that, because of what happened, I’ve lost a sense of joy in creating this readthru. Whenever I see references to Homestuck, I don’t laugh anymore. When the music comes up when my phone is on random in the car, I skip the track. The spoilers only stopped coming in when I stopped posting, and yet I can’t get the final spoiler out of my head. No one’s active in the Discord channel that I can see, and I honestly don’t know if anyone still uses the other channels. 

It feels... lonely. And that, in turn, produces a feedback loop in my head, which spirals me even further down into some really dark places. That’s why my breather became a break, then a pause, then a hiatus. I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to come back. I felt like a failure, to all of you, and to myself.

So, where do we go from here?

Once I post this, I’m making a full export of DGS from tumblr. I would recommend you all do the same, and instructions can be found at this link. I flag my blogs for containing explicit content as a safety precaution, partly to keep my parents from finding it, but also to allow myself to use profanity and post NSFW content, so my days are numbered. I’ve already noticed that some of my posts are getting removed, so I need to back up everything I have before I lose it all. At this point, it’s only a matter of time before I try to login one day and my entire account has been terminated, and I can’t trust @staff to restore my account without losing something in the process.

My next step will be to find those who have already left tumblr, and research their platform of choice. Most users have been shifting to twitter, instagram, and Discord, but I’m hopeful that more blogging sites will rise as new homes for fandoms and creators. Others have already started their exodus, searching for alternative sites, leaving contact information, saying farewells, and closing their accounts. It’s heartbreaking.

What is the Shaggy Collective?

Well, to put it simply, remember the Woody Collective? That whole thing a couple years back where people went around taking deactivated URLs of really bad, problematic users? This is sort of like a revival of that but with Shaggy instead! He is the most powerful being in existence, after all! Who better to use as a mascot?

Ever since Dec. 17th when Tumblr announced their adult content ban under the guise of creating “a better, more positive Tumblr”, things haven’t really gotten any better or more positive- in fact, things seem to have gotten worse. Tumblr still barely does anything to actually curb blogs that have been causing problems, even after multiple reports have been sent about their behavior. We aim to try to help keep the community positive using the tried-and-true method of creating a giant, terrifying hivemind!

How can I join the Shaggy Collective?

Simple! If you see a deactivated blog that used to belong to a problem blog, simply create a new sideblog using that URL. Once you have the URL, simply keep the default theme and do the following:

-Use this picture as your profile picture!

-Use this picture as your header image!

-Make your blog title “Zoinks, Scoob!”

-Make the description read “Like, this blog has been reclaimed by the Shaggy Collective, man!” This will hopefully deter you from getting any hate directed at the original user should you decide to open your asks.

What counts as a “problem blog”?

This is a list of blog types that are eligible for reclamation (and make sure you have solid proof that they fall under these categories!):
