A WIP photo of Princess Jasmine 💙 2017 was a year of experimentation and growth for me. In the past, I strictly used colored pencil and graphite, but this year I really wanted to challenge myself to explore acrylic painting. I started off small in the beginning. Maybe 10% was acrylic, and then flashforward to now; this piece is about 95% acrylic. Pencil and paint are completely different so it was no wonder that it took me almost a whole year to be comfortable with it. lol or maybe I just have a really shaky hand. 🙈 This little mini piece was originally created for my collective @poisoncandyartists Disney Auction, however due to some neck and back injury + having an art epiphany while working on her, I decided I wouldn't be able to finish her in time! Sometimes the art dictates when it's done and there's nothing you can do but let it guide you! Here's a WIP shot of one of my pieces for the Disney Auction with @poisoncandyartists next month! I think it's pretty obvious who this character is!😁 I'm having the best time recreating my favorite characters from my childhood. I think it's safe to say I was raised on Disney and the animation heavily influenced my art.
