Do you have any takes on any of the other characters yet?
Somewhat!! Though the one I've been thinking on the most as of late is Ringmaster Raven, he's got a bit of a chokehold on me at the moment. Gonna have to watch a playthrough of Monster Carnival to refamiliarize myself with him and the rest of the island's story since I can't play it myself anymore 😭

If Poptropica had a bigger fandom, then CMG would've actually cared to update the game and restore the old islands.
That's true.
If Poptropica hadn't lost its profitability, then they wouldn't have given up on the franchise. The only reason they stopped is because it wasn't making any real money, due to a lack of advertisements. And the lack of ads was because Poptropica wasn't as popular anymore. And Poptropica wasn't as popular anymore because the franchise went downhill.
2015
Instead of helping Poptropica become more profitable through a book series, a TV show, and other spin-offs, the new owners decided to replace Poptropica Original with Poptropica Worlds...
2018
Which wasn't popular, and many people hated it. So they gave up on that and went back to Pop Original. Unfortunately, the first post-Worlds island was a tutorial island. And the one after that...
2019
Reality TV Wild Safari. Nuff said.
2020
Flash died. Nuff said.
2020-2021
They focused on unnecessary updates (most of them purely aesthetic), mini-quests, etc etc.
In the past Poptropica did put out mini-quests along with regular islands. But the difference was that Poptropica was still consistently putting out islands because the company wasn't in shambles. Post-Flash Poptropica couldn't afford to do that.

So the problem is that the new owners focused on the wrong things. Poptropica was popular for its game play, but mostly it's storytelling. That was what the original Creators were passionate about the most.
Oh, and Flash dying certainly didn't help.
I feel like the biggest takeaway from Poptropica’s downfall is that focusing on superficial things instead of the things that actually matter will kill a product/franchise.
I'm pretty sure 90% of the people in the Poptropica fandom consist of people who grew up with it, whether it's the games or the books.
Poptropica is still able to appeal to children, but it got so bland, why would they care?
Interestingly enough, I still see a couple of new people getting into Poptropica. I don't know if they grew up with it and rediscovered it, or if they're new people discovering it through CMG or the books or whatever, but it proves that Poptropica can still appeal to people.
I'm kinda curious now...
