New doll restoration I just finished: Rainbow High’s Poppy Rowan

She was another doll from the box that came from the house with the dog. Of all the dolls in my restore pile, her hair was in the worst shape of any of them. But aside from that, she was in great condition. All of her shoes were spared from the dog, and of her original clothes, only one dress was missing. I suspect she was a favorite, and that’s why she was better taken care of than the rest. Unfortunately the kid who had her just didn’t know how to take care of the hair. Luckily, I do : )

With how tangled it was, I had to cut out the original hair ties because they couldn’t be removed without cutting. I also had to trim the tags that had been used to hold her earmuffs on in the box and push the remaining plastic down under her scalp.

She still had the glue in her hair they use to keep it sculpted in the box, which obviously needed to be washed out. First, I had to comb it out, which took about an hour in and of itself. Because of the way her hair is parted for the pigtails, I had to keep the two sides separated throughout the process (or spend two hours restoring the part by hand which—no thanks). I washed and conditioned each side individually, conditioned it, and then left it to dry while I got clear hair ties. It wasn’t too hard to put her hair back in its original style and sculpt the curls, but I did have to finagle it for quite a bit to make sure everything was even and symmetrical.

Her face and body were in great condition, as I mentioned before. There were some smudges, and some factory paint flecks, but those were easy enough to deal with using a cotton swab and acetone. Then a wash with soapy water was the last step. She didn’t even have any seams that needed sanding down, which was nice.

The outfit she’s wearing in the before pics is mix and matched from her clothes, and clothes from other dolls (the boots came from a different release of the same doll). But since I had almost all of her original clothes and shoes I could dress her up easy-peasy. She even had both her socks! (Doll socks are some of the easiest things to lose, right up there with jewelry.) I did have to pluck off some dog hairs with my tweezers, but aside from that, her clothes were also well taken care of, so I ended up with a really nice result.

Oh my god my first ask. Hiya :D

OK just pre warning I'm more of a TMA fan than I am RH but I'll try my best to answer!

Maybe Poppy Rowan? But also love Naomi Storm and her look

Poppy would probably link with the Corruption due to her link w/ butterflies (the butterfly dress is gorgeous) she is also linked with music and yknow how the Corruption likes it's songs. She is also very outgoing and is quite loving. The Corruption loves it's groups and is all about love and acceptance.

Naomi is harder. Maybe the Web tbh. That's the vibes I'm getting. She can be quite manipulative with the whole sabotage thing which scream the Web. Her style is also quite Webby. Tho the Web tends to work in the shadows and she seems to be a bragger. Tho ig some of the statements the Web hasn't be subtle at all. Half wanna say the Lonely just due to her name lol. But she does seem to have friends and gets on fine with her sister so. Maybe her sister would fit the Lonely better? Idk love both the designs tho.
