I don't do these often, but I liked the format of this and felt like answering it. Thank you, @maisims2.
📻audio📻
I typically don't have the game audio playing while playing the Sims 2 (I think its a holdover from getting jumpscared by the burglar/racoon scare chord) but I usually have Youtube gameplay or a podcast running while I play. If I am making CC, I typically have music going in the background.
I also deeply prefer the Sims 1 soundtrack over the Sims 2.
📺visual📺
This is a bit harder of a question to answer because I have both modern hoods (Briar Glen and a story-progression test neighborhood called Mulberry Hills) as well as my medieval/fantasy hood (Kynsbern).
A lot of my CC not related to mods is based of the vibe I have for the neighborhood. Kynsbern is very heavily inspired by the Elder Scrolls series while Briar Glen is more of a comfy/colorful modern vibe. Mulberry Hills is a testing hood meant for long-term testing of custom content, so its whole vibe is modern mess.
I would say that when it comes to CC, I tend to go towards semi-realistic. 3t2 and 4t2 do show up quite a bit in my games, but I find that 4t2 objects doesn't really fit in with my games nowadays because of how blocky they are/textures seem to clash and stand out against the rest of the heavily modified game.
I even use different textures and CC to help set the scene for the games I play. For example with hairs: Briar Glen and Mulberry Hills both use Poppet V2, Mulberry Hills even having Amphitrite/Apple/Candyfloss genetic hairs. Kynsbern on the other hand is a mixture of Poppet V2/PMG V4 that I am slowly replacing with PMG V4.
Which means a lot of my Sim gaming recently is me turning on the game, seeing something I don't like, turning it off and then opening SimPE.
Also I love mods that add autonomy. Sometimes the household is massive or is considered a school, I can't babysit all of them!
📖experience📖
My real life interests do influence my game, typically with the CC I use or create. If I like a video game, my downtime or quiet time will turn to "how do I smash this stuff into my Sims game?"
I can easily think of two examples. My medieval/fantasy Kynsbern has a ROS event that features an abnormality from Lobotomy Corporation, a video game based in a sci-fi dystopian landscape. My modern hoods have FNAF custom content in it, up to having the pizza box default-replaced with the logo from the Pizzaplex.
Skill-wise though, I actually think I brought more outside experience into my content creation in than I took from it. I am still pretty new at Sims 2 custom creation but I have been making digital art and writing for a long time.
I still even have some of my old ideas written down from when I was a kid. At some time after Sims Makin' Magic but before Sims 2 was released, I had written down my dream expansion pack for the Sims 1. Apparently I really wanted slumber parties and things for kids to do. I had drawings of houses I planned to build when I was done with homework and a few snippets of old very stupid story ideas.
But I find that any skill you learn can be useful anywhere. Learning is wonderful!

I obviously don't do these much, so I don't feel comfortable tagging anyone. To those who follow me, feel free to do this yourself if you feel comfortable doing so.
👽questions for sim 2 players👽
‼️THIS IS NOT A SURVEY OR QUESTIONNAIRE‼️ you can answer whichever questions you'd like in whichever way you'd like, and feel free to add on to your answers in any way you'd like - share as much or as little about your sims 2-ing as you want, i am keen to hear it all! 👂👀👂
📻audio📻
do you listen to music/streams/podcasts/tv/etc. while playing? if so, is it stuff you would also be listening to if you were doing something else, or do you listen to specific things while playing sims 2?
conversely, do you listen to the sims 2 soundtrack when you're not playing the sims 2?
📺visual📺
if you have little or no cc or other visual changes to your game, are there particular reasons? e.g. disk space/performance, nostalgia/just prefer the vanilla vibe, etc.
if you use a lot of 4t2 and/or 3t2 cc are there any particular reasons? e.g. you play the other game and also want the same stuff in the sims 2, you don't have the other game but want the other game's stuff that you've seen, you prefer the aesthetic of the other game but prefer the gameplay of the sims 2, you feel like eaxis content from the other games is part of the same "set" as the sims 2, you just prefer clay hair, etc.
if you use the vibrant, colourful, and lower contrast? aesthetic that's often called "maxis match", does it actually "match" the sims 2 in your view/experience of the game or do you consider it "maxis match" in the sense of the whole sims series? alternatively, do you not consider it "maxis match" and just prefer the colour and brightness? if so are there any particular reasons? e.g. it reminds you of a game or other media that you like, it gives you a feeling/vibe that you like, etc.
if you use cc that isn't the "maxis match" style mentioned above, but that you consider "maxis match", are there any particular traits that qualify/disqualify "maxis match" cc for you?
if you use "realistic" or "alpha" cc, would you consider your "aim" to be to make the sims 2 game more like real life, or to make a version of real life in the sims 2? alternatively, do you just like the aesthetic, are you used to using "alpha" cc in other sims games, or is "alpha" cc something that is nostalgic for you?
📖experience📖
do your real life experiences influence the way you alter and/or play the sims 2? e.g. adding or replacing stuff with cc that is more familiar to your location and/or culture, making sims, families, builds, or stories that are familiar to you, etc. alternatively, do you have a game that is removed from from your real life experiences? e.g. fantasy, non-human, historical, etc.
do you use the skills you use for sims 2 gameplay/content creation for work/school/other hobbies? e.g. image/video editing, 3D modelling, coding, making/using spreadsheets, writing, internet research, etc. if so, does that influence the way you use your skills? e.g. software, habits/best practices, decreased/increased motivation, etc.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 with the Titere siblings!!
Im sorry it took me so long to answer your ask! I DIDN'T FORGET IT- But I hope the littol bby Titere trio under the cut makes things just a little better</3 (I was going to do an art response with their parents but couldnt settle on a design lol)
TW: mentions of child neglect, child abuse, loss of limbs
The Titere trio's parents were very neglectful of their kids, they do not have nor do they know of any other extended family. As the oldest sibling, Wolfo had to step in to take care of his younger siblings, with most of what he learned coming from books, school and pure experimentation.
Whatever mistakes he made, he'd teach the lesson to Poppet and Creek so they dont make the same mistake (obviously accidents/mistakes are bound to happen anyway but they still made it through together).
Their parents couldnt care less of their kids tbh💀
HOWEVER
The real game changer happened when their dad literally tore off Poppet's wing-arms from being under the influence of presumably drugs. Wolfo and Creek sought out whatever help they could get their hands on since it was the first time any of them had to deal with a situation like this.
Nothing like a "mysterious friend" to help you out though, right? :)
His help came at a cost, but hey! Wolfo and Creek would rather go through a painful transformation process all over again than lose Poppet<3
Poppet didnt get his arms back though😔✌️ (but at least he's alive ig-)
Anyway-
They kinda just figure out things on their own (which is part of why their grades are a bit trash💀) so hearing they got accepted in a prestigious school made Wolfo do a double take, maybe even ask if they had the wrong names- but nope!
Out of some miracle from The Great Seven, they somehow managed to squeeze themselves into NRC (totally not like they had a helping hand from someone familiar no no shh)
And now they're here!
Wolfo ramming students into the sky with his horns, Creek jumpscaring students from the dark corners of the hall and Poppet growling and biting kids just cause he felt like it.
