but poor jamie can’t help it. he’s ev blakely. who wouldn’t fall in love with him <\3. he tries to squash it down as best as he can and not feel it, tries to get into his head that ev is straight- just messing around with you cause you’re what’s here. jamie’s trauma manifests heavily in resigning himself to feeling used which. is a biggg factor in his angst over this.

he has a bit of an internal breakdown when they go on leave in europe and ev goes home with a girl he meets out at a bar. but then the next night he’s holding onto jamie when they’re going back to the hotel and is so drunk lovey with him that jamie tries to black out seeing him go home with that girl the night before. its fine. ev knows where home is (:

the others guys kinda know what’s going on bc it’s not possible for them to hide it. least of all from john egan the gossip. but ev hates that aspect of it and it makes him itch. he almost swings on croz when they’re out at a club on leave and he starts filming on his phone when ev and jamie are all up on each other. jamie has to talk him off the ledge so they don’t get thrown out for fighting.

then the afhanistan war is over, ev goes to west virginia, jamie goes to fort bragg where he’s at until his TBI and they stop talking all together. which, tbf jamie kinda goes ghost on everyone especially after his accident. but as it’s alluded to in el dorado he about breaks out in hives when he hears about ev and helen. and is honestly quite fucking mean about it. but it’s coming from a place of care for ev and hoping he’s truly happy.

You say you don't hate the show but you have such a high fanaticism for ironwood that you say nonsensical things about the other characters and you criticize them as if ironwood were perfect (and it isn't) and when it has highly criticizable points you always blame it to rt about how they screwed it up, etc. as if you think you know the character better than their own creators.

Lmfao, I call Ironwood a fucking idiot too, fam. It’s just that I’m not calling him a facist and a groomer like 90% of the rest of the FNDM, all while they act like RWBY were in the right to not trust him when it was their own fucking actions that caused it. They deride Ozpin for keeping them in the dark about Salem’s immortality, but then do the exact same to Ironwood, and then decide to trust Robyn with the secret of Amity despite not knowing her at all.

Add onto the poor writing behind Blake’s character, Yang’s PTSD, Weiss’ relationship to Whitley, and Ruby not being the same as Ozpin despite making the same mistakes, only for the show to validate her dumbass, nah. Sorry you don’t like me calling out shitty writing ://///

And it is RT’s fault for not doing research, for not doing timelines so they don’t make the most basic plotholes, to try and listen to critics and not just ones that lick their assholes. Add onto just how harmful their writing is, no we ain’t gonna be fucking nice about it.  

This is also ignoring that we do praise the show for what they do right, and we’re even willing to let most of the faults for Amity go because we really love Pietro and Penny’s characters in that episode.

RWBY Volume 8, Episode 1 “Divide” Thoughts + Reaction

Well well, we’re back! And this episode was a very pleasant surprise of how good the writing this episode has.

Spoilers below!

Cinder’s backstory is very faithful to her allusion. 

Poor Neo looks so confused and uncertain. 

They did a really good job on Monstro, especially how fleshy it is. 

Neo’s reaction to Cinder lying saying she did all the hard work. She’s gonna backstab her I can feel it. 

Tyrian’s tail is so expressive here I love it!

Cinder’s and Tyrian’s back and forth chatter shows that Cinder isn’t as scared of him as she was in V4 it looks like. 

Man Neo looks so offended by Cinder’s remarks. That’s gonna bite Cinder in the ass.

MERCURY AND EMERALD FINALLY GET NEW CLOTHES YES.

I like Hazel’s new outfit… not sure on his haircut however. 

Also damn, looks like Mercury’s talk was ineffective on Em….Hopefully that changes soon.

Yo this was a great episode. It was such a change from what we expected considering the tension created earlier around this meeting. Ironwood’s plan is interesting- dangerous and risky, but an actual step forward from what Ozpin’s plan seems to have been all this time. The characters we’re meeting are great, the interactions are great, the atmosphere is great. I thought Mistral was pretty but Atlas reminds me of Manhattan and it’s modeled so well. We’re 2 for 2 this season

Hey uh, so I wanted to try and put my perspective on something that I’ve been seeing around lately like

The whole scene with Jacques talking about Willow/Weiss’s mom was to hurt her. Period. Nothing else.  “You know how she gets when she’s upset.” is directly talking about her Alcoholism. He’s talking about how she gets drunk when she’s upset. Jacques is straight up telling Weiss that her mom’s drinking because of her and her actions/decisions, not that Willow is abusive (though she is abusive in a way for not being there.) or anything like that. That part was specifically to manipulate Weiss’ emotions. I’m not saying it’s out of the question but I felt like that was how that was intended to be interpreted. Plus, I’m not going to trust that bastard man’s opinion on anything LMFAO.

He immediately questioned if Winter knew about Weiss being here because he was going to blame that on her in the same manner. Nothing is ever the abuser’s fault, and it’s always the victims’. How could Winter not tell her poor father that her other missing daughter’s here? Its a manipulation tactic to blame the victim for what the abuser’s done, and blake 100 percent saw through, lol.

Overall, I would give this movie 7/10 because of the message. Plot is nicely done and I got see basically every single rom-com tropes. At total, I counted 23 tropes I guess? If I could look every minor detail, I would count more but I won’t get into it that much for now. (i’m running late to a meeting with friends so i have to cut short)

I loved the production design, setting felt like I’m in a classic rom-com movie and characters were written accordingly. Every actor in the movie has fit perfect to me. I especially loved Priyanka and Liam because 1) I’ve never seen any of her movies and 2) It’s been a long time since I watched a Liam Hemsworth movie (i only watched hunger games, so you think about it lmao)

I guess that’s about it! I have a list for the next weeks’ movies but if you have a request then tell me so, I will watch your recommendations first! I appreciate comments; if you have something to add, please do. I will read every single one of them.

Why does Clarke mention never having ‘floated in the water’ in her little monologue? it seems weird. Like not, felt the breeze in her hair, or seen plants, or felt the grass on her feet? Bri got us thinking about this. 

Bellarke was a perfect ship and then Clarke went bonkers and ruined it all. 

We got strangely into the minutia this week.

okay we all love the ‘i can’t change the tide’ line, but i never noticed that when he comes into Finn and Raven’s tent, he starts with “Is the moon in here?” lmfao monty is an angel 

Raven making finn come out because everyone is so high is so funny. 

Clarke is so YOUNG. Like sometimes we all forget how young she was in the first season. Shes literally 17, season 1 doesn’t even go a whole month and in episode 1 she says she doesn’t turn 18 for another month. 

She just misses her dad, its so sad. 

They’re all just kids! Even Bellamy is only like 22/23 which is just about our age.

On first watch we were definitely all nervous that Lincoln wouldn’t get away. This is one of Finn’s few good moments. 

Elyse pointed out that Finn is like two separate characters, and Bails (no surprise) mentioned how they talk about that a lot in the @metastation podcast, about how they just sort of attribute random traits to Finn to fit his plot line. Go listen to the podcast, especially for s1. 

Jaha’s line “You want the peace of death” is so intense and well delivered. 

Bell saves Clarke, Clarke saves Bell, they save each other, they forgive each other, god s1 Bellarke is so alsdhfinsakldmjsdkjfh

That synchronised Power Couple Strut™ and dropping of the guns, the epic power couple speech. Iconic.

Bellamy definitely made them practice this before they went in. “No clarke, you gotta say it like this”. He’s a Drama Hoe. We love our Drama Hoe. 

For real though, even with all the problems they have later, the way they actually write the Blake Siblings is so good. They feel like real siblings. There are a lot of shows that write siblings that you can just tell the writer doesn’t have siblings and didn’t ask anyone’s advice. But the Blakes have that dynamic of like “I’ll definitely kill you, but if anyone else says a bad word about you, I’ll kill THEM.” They have this petulant back and forth, but its always sort of underlined with this deep love. The writers know how to write a sibling relationship. Even when it becomes abusive and terrible later, that sort of weird dynamic is still there. Problematic, but the dynamic is well done. 

Finn is so high up on his own pedastal. Bellamy tortured Lincoln to SAVE YOU. How are you gonna shit all over him for it. How are you gonna question him like that.
