Something I noticed about the pjo series is that Percy never really stopped holding up the sky.

In book three, he does end up tricking atlas into taking it back, but he doesn’t actually relieve himself of the burden. When he tells Nico about his sister and chooses to be the child of prophecy, he accepts the weight of his entire world on his shoulders as the hero. Being the person who decides the fate of the world has to be terrifying for someone so young, yet he willingly chooses the prophecy as a way to both punish himself for Bianca’s death and protect Nico.

Percy Jackson is still holding up the sky, and he is still bearing the weight of the world so that the other demigods and immortal beings don’t have to. I look forward to the day that Percy actually gets to live his own life and finally shift that burden to others, but I also know that Percy has to trust someone to give them that weight and if he trusts them he might also want to protect them from the fate like Nico.

After all, his fatal flaw is loyalty.

Percy doesn't fit into the mold his parents created. Quidditch is just alright, he's more ambitious than stoic, and he's bookish than sporty. The red hair and freckles are the main indicators that he's a Weasley, so it's not hard to understand his siblings favor each other more.

"He's no ones favorite anything." Fred said, talking to George with a crooked smile on his face. The words came out followed by a chuckle as they raced up the stairs in unison to work on another prank.

Percy isn't anyone's favorite until he befriends Oliver. The two form a close friendship and Percy feels like he almost knows what's it like to be favored.

I NEED TO TELL YOU ALL SOME HILARIOUS ROBERT PLANT STORY THAT MY FRIENDS TOLD ME:

Apparently their old teacher from high school worked at a boutique in Denver in the 70s. She told them that Robert apparently went to her shop to get some clothes during the 73 tour. He apparently was flirting with her quite a bit, and asked her to come to the hotel with him, but she was skeptical bc he was a rock star and she didn’t want to be a one night stand lol and said no thanks. (How this woman had the restraint to do that, I dont know).

APPARENTLY he was really tenacious, and came by later, got her address from her manager, and pulled outside her house in his car and was calling for her to come to the hotel and show with him! Really wanting her to “hang out” She went outside and said she appreciated the offer, but ultimately declined.

ITS SO FUNNY. Robert Plant getting declined by my friend’s teacher in the 70s bc she was scared she would get an STD is really funny to me.

my absolute favorite thing is that they changed it so LUKE would have the most interactions with percy at camp

luke showed him around, luke explained how the camp and gods worked, luke told him about the pact of the big three.... in the books, most of that was taken up by annabeth, but i LOVE that they changed it to luke because it would've made the betrayal hurt 10x more!!!!

in the book, luke's betrayal didn't hurt that much cuz they didn't interact a lot when percy was still at camp. like, when he finally defected i felt more bad for annabeth than for percy, but in the show..... omg when luke defended him from clarisse and that scene where percy prays to his mom to tell her that he made a friend "who really liked him" and he was talking about LUKE 😭😭😭😭😭

The first time Perceptor learns about their relationship is when he walks in on Hot Rod sitting in his lap the two making out.

Perceptor does not do well learning his baby boy is making out with a dangerous con.

He was prepared for Hot rod to start dating he wasn’t prepared for him to be making out and sitting on Soundwaves lap inside Soundwaves hab.

He came to deliver a message but it was forgotten as he watched his baby make out with the dangerous mech.

He did something that definitely got hot rod to stop making out with Soundwave.

…he passed out.

And Hot rod heard the thump and looked over to see his carrier out cold and panicked while Soundwave quickly figured out what happened and sighed knowing he would have to suffer a stiff spike until he could fix it himself later. For now he has to help his future conjunx’s carrier.

The inclusion of Percy Woodville is fascinating in the way that he establishes Sydney's character. He is always framed from Sydney's perspective as being inferior.

Specifically, Percy is in Sydney's eyes less masculine: he's anxious and openly emotional, he's at one point on the verge of tears and Sydney describes it as "excruciatingly funny;" Percy expresses acceptance and grace rather than jealousy and anger toward a romantic "rival;" he submits to Sydney's bullying, he's even physically weaker (has poor eyesight, can't hold his liquor).

Both times that Sydney encounters Percy, it's after being rejected (and effortlessly intellectually and emotionally bested) by Marjorie. Sydney is cut down to size, emasculated by the woman he wants to possess. Then he immediately finds someone "weaker" and starts pushing them around.

Additionally, I see a comparison between the Beetle's mesmerism and Sydney's getting Percy drunk. They're controlling another through their force of personality and will.
