People say that Geordo is a manipulator, though I low-key headcanon that he gets relentlessly bullied by his friend group.

Then again, it's hard to take Geordo seriously as a manipulator, schemer, and possible heir to a kingdom if you saw said prince screaming at the sight of a small garden snake or being left behind by his duchess fiancee to cook fish.

Some My Next Life as a Villainess ranting inspired by seeing that volume 12 is out (and not having read it yet, only the preview text for it).

My current issue with the My Next Life as a Villainess light novels is I’m genuinely interested in Katarina’s story entirely separate from suitors, and I honestly find Geordo and Keith pursuing her more annoying than fun.

I’m interested in her friendship with Maria, and a bunch of things in the story, but I’ve felt like the “romance” with the others has been secondary, if not a distraction, for a while now.

Which probably sounds weird to some people. One of the biggest selling points of the anime was Katarina’s harem.

For me, I was heavily invested in the series before I even realized that was what it was doing (I got embarrassingly far in the manga before realizing she was going to end up with a harem), and it was because of Katarina and her kindness.

She took an axe to my sadness on a very bad day, and I’ve been invested in the series for her, not because there are women interested in her.

I mean, yes, I absolutely want her to marry Maria, but that was something I decided after several volumes of the light novel, which I read after season one of the anime.

Also, I know Katarina has a massive shield up about attraction, effectively making it difficult to confess to her and have her actually get it, but ye gods, Katarina’s harem, just spell it out for the poor girl already. Like, full on intervention.

Maybe I’ll read volume 12 this weekend and be pleasantly surprised, but I’m worried it’s going to be a Geordo-Keith fest. Maybe those two could just elope? They’d have my blessing.

Hamefura pirates of the disturbance : Rozy's introduction

I found some information on a fandom and the rest I wrote it.

Rozy Lind :

Background :

Rozy is an engineer from the Kingdom of Quid, an invention powerhouse located in a different continent from Sorcier. He is recruited to the reveal of the luxury liner "Vinklem" as part of the maintenance crew. In the game he is one of the two new capture targets for Catarina.

Appearance :

Rozy is a tall man with maroon-colored hair and jade green eyes. He wears a brown technician uniform with a hat, with black belt holding his tools and gear. Under his technician vest is a black shirt with a purple neckline. He often has a gentle, reassuring smile on his face. He is a young man of 23 years old but he has a boyish and childish smile and gestures.

Personnality :

He is a kind and meek young man who is a talented technician. He secretly has a sweet-tooth, and is a fan of desserts and pastries. He is a very fast reader. Rozy has a creative mind and is good with tinkering with machines. He is able to make tools out of anything he can get his hands on. It is said that everyone in their family truly wants to protect and keep an eye on those they hold dear. It's in their genes. He is as smart as Geordo and the others but he is more innocent in a way.

Fortune lover game :

Rozy is a character that appears in a fan-book of Fortune Lover. In the game he is not a capture target even though he is handsome. He also got killed by Silva (who is the captain of the Sungreed pirates)

Currently :

Rozy and Catarina are acquainted, and eventually friends, due to their mutual love of sweets. He was on the desk when he caught sight of her and immediatly recognized her. He had a conversation with Silva and told him that no matter what happens he doesn't want her and only her to be hurt. Silva is aware of that and told him that even if it's the first time in 8 years he saw her he shouldn't do anything clumsy and must avoid approaching her. And Rozy accepts painfully.

Rozy's true identity :

It turns out Rozy is not really a pirate and neither is Silva or the rest of the crew. Rozy‘s real name is Rodzion Lindgren and he’s an aristocrat or more specifically a Duke of Queed. So Silva and his crew are actually Rozy‘s private guards that he hired to stop the Chancellor and his selfish scheme of trying to blow up the ship and kidnap the magic users.

Rozy's first meeting with Catarina :

When he first met Catarina in Sorcier he gave her the gummy candy he made because she was hungry while thinking that it was not very appreciate because of its strange texture (like now) and she told him it was beautiful like a jewel and how delicious it was. This made him realize his true ambition to help others and he always wanted to meet Catarina again to thank her. Eventually he was able to find out more about her and fell in love with her when he met her again. Rozy also met Silva on his way back to Queed when he almost got mugged. A younger Silva helped him but then collapsed to the ground because he was weak. Rozy noticed he looked like he was poor or homeless and decided to help him after thinking of Catarina’s smile, ignoring the people who told him not to do it. Thus, both his and Silva’s fates were essentially changed from meeting Catarina. In the game he will listen his escort and leave him here. He also kept an eye on Catarina since then, he sent someone in Sorcier to collect informations about her and know how she is doing while pretenting it was to collect informations on Sorcier, he even drew her one time when he was tired and everyone who know him well know how much he loves "the little girl who changed his life" For him, she was "his benefactor". (He really is a stalker....It's really creepy...) Ah, one thing, when he met her he was 15 years old and Catarina 8 years old... Yes, a real stalker.

They were so cute !!!

My opinion :

I love Rozy as a character (not as much as Silva, sorry) but he is really creepy in a way... I think Silva also mentionned something like that... In a way, he really reminds me Raphael ; his smile, personnality and things like that. And he is really handsome and has a calm, gentle and smart aura. I'm glad he met Catarina when they were children or else he would have no personnality. My favourites scenes are when he save her from the drunk pirate, his talk with Silva when he saw her, and almost all... Except for one thing, I think Albert really spoiled Rozy's route, he is so annoying.... And I don't know when Catarina fell in love wth him either. Unfortunately I don't have the game but I think his route is cute. (without Albert) His confession was adorable and his good ending too. It's my second favourite route.

I'm extremely fu* angry right now and I have to share this, I can't believe that there are really people who act like this about Katarina's Exile

consequences for what they did to Katarina in this story, because it is clearly wrong and pure evil and I can't stand how often people just let them get away with it!

But I'm really interested how you are going to make this a Katarina x Keith story, I'm very interested how you plan to make the ship happen

Thanks for your comment! Yes, me too think that Geordo's method of judgement is overdoing and in this story he will suffer about.

Katarina（good person, not villainess, with her memories of previous life） will return to Sorcier disguised as another woman and meet him again.

Later of the story, Geordo is not a perfect prince but quite human. So relationship between Katarina & Geordo is one of the highlights of this story.

The way you say "quit human" about Geordo makes me quite worried, because his treatment of Katarina was "quite inhumane" in fact, and I really have quite an issue with the Geordo apologists going on,

And I hope that Maria doesn't get an happy end, the way she behaved and the way she enabled Geordo are quite horrifying to behold, we have seen VOD we have seen how OG/Villainess Katarina treated the people who aren't trying to steal her fiancée or break her family apart (unintentionally but she was 8! What do you expect of the!?)

I hope that when Keith realizes who she is he does some thinking, I hope he acknowledged that she was just as much a victim in this as he was.

Furthermore, I hope some compensation towards Katarina for what she has been trough takes place people have to acknowledge how wrong that was, Geordo in that single instance proofed beyond the Shadow of a doubt that he is exactly the same kind of Mann his grandfather was.

I think Geordo in the game "FORTUNE LOVER" is portrayed as ideal man, we often call "Super Darling" in Japanese light novels. He has authority and money, can do anything, helps and falls in love with a heroine... everything is perfect.

But in this story, he is gossiped it's too much having the villainess, Katarina, deported and worries what he did was wrong. I described his condition like that as "quite human".(I'm sorry for my poor English expression.)

I'm only translating the completed fan fiction I wrote in Japanese, so characters and ending may not be what you expect. But I hope you enjoy the story til the end.

Please try for once to see the things from Katarina's perspective try to realize that Geordo made a promise, that he broke and than punishment her for it, please try once to see how wrong this is, this is wrong, Geordo and Maria Katarina not the other way around, they cheated on her, she had EVERY right to fight back!!! Geordo questioning if he was right is not an APPROPRIATE CONSEQUENCE for this, no an appropriate consequence would be the entirety of Sociar hating and fearing both him and Maria and seeing them as the worst fucking Tyrants who ever lived for this, appropriate would be to have both him and Maria severely punished for this clear abuse of power, appropriate consequences would be having Geordo cut out of the line for the Throne and him and Maria not allowed to ever see eachother again,

hello, I hope you doing well 💞 my question its kind of random but, I always wonder what do you think the differences action between katarina (in the current timeline) and maria (fortune lover) towards the capture target. In the current timeline we see how katarina able to open their hearts and heal their wounded soul, but Im curious how maria able to do that in fortune lover timeline, because we see in the current timeline maria itself has her own struggle and bakarina is the one that safe her, thinking how in the fortune lover timeline we never get to see how maria herself overcome her own struggle and pain its kinda sad 😔. I wouldn't say Maria overcome her struggle in Fortune Lover.

I think she mentioned in LN8 that she always said things that would please the other party so that they would like her. So maybe she could mend the souls of the capture targets to some extent, but definitely not at a deep level like Katarina did.

Though, it is perfectly normal. Katarina could act early on and she had 7 years to do so. While Maria met the capture targets after they had grown bitter and she only had one year to "heal" them. So I guess Maria only did what she could with the little time she had.

I would also say that Maria probably acted more because she wanted to be loved than for saving poor souls.

In Geordo's route, she is fine with Geordo acting blackhearted. And I guess she didn't oppose Katarina getting exiled. And supposing she could have healed Katarina with her light magic in Geordo's bad ending, then it means she let her die.

In Keith's route, the Claes family is probably in a bad situation with Katarina getting exiled and Keith eloping. Though, it is a matter of whether you can shoulder people's misfortune for your happiness.

In Alan's route, Maria is aware that she is stealing Mary's fiancé but she didn't let it stop her. She also didn't mind giving lap pillows to Alan before he broke his engagement.

In Nicol's route... well, maybe she genuinely wanted to be Sophia's friend and it kinda worked out with Nicol. But she doesn't talk about Sophia anymore once she won her over...

As I mentioned earlier, I began reading the Hamefura LN (yes, again).

For now, I've only read the first chapter, althought I'm eager to keep on reading. I might even read up to chapter two (or even three) before going to bed. (Update: that's not happening).

But anyways, here are some things I felt like talking about:

I was surprised when I read this. I mean, yeah, I do have pretty bad memory when it comes to details that are barely touched upon in series, but still. All this time I'd thought Katarina had been originally an only child! My bad, I guess.

You don't need to word it like that.

Nothing worth noting here. It just made me laugh. He's been best boy from the start.

She's so relatable it hurts, man.

While it's impossible for me to think he would ever do something evil towards Katarina, I can't help but wonder what kind of something would've Geordo been capable of doing being so young? Or even once they're fifteen.

Maybe in an alternate universe where Geordo is still his original self he could've do something like that to Katarina? Been thinking a lot about AUs as of lately, wonder why.

The way it changed from first to third person was as smooth as it was funny.

Poor Bakarina! Since no one would ever be able to decipher the intricacies of her brain, she'll have to keep on living thinking her reasonings and consecuential solutions are totally valid and should be taken seriously.

Millidiana is every mildly rational person right now.

I'm so used to Geordo being this Prince Charming-esque sadist that I often forget just how sad his backstory is.

I mean, it makes sense why everyone would pay special attention to his other siblings, but it's also reasonable the fact that he feels so lonely. I can't imagine how painful it must be trying to spend some time with, at least, one of your parents for them to reject you due to work, having to focus on your older siblings who might become the future of the kingdom, or them having to check on your sickly twin brother. You're bound to feel bitter, to feel forgotten.

I was also surprised by how close to reality are the backgrounds I usually create for him. Be it him being left aside, be it him growing up in a world of appereances—my man's always craving for some sort of attention.

Rereading this first chapter, besides helping me reconnect and reempathize with him, also helped me realize that maybe, just maybe, my modern take on Geordo wasn't that bad after all.

When he can treat you so nicely as easy as he can treat you as some sort of lab rat... You know he's a keeper.

Sneak Peak of Upcoming Chapter of "I Will Always Love All The Sides Of You I See."

Larna sighed as she closed the door behind herself, allowing Duchess Claes some time alone with her daughter. 

While she was still worried about the duchess finding out about the necklace and all the other Katarinas, the Noble Katarina waved off her concerns and told her all would be fine and said that she had nothing to be worried about.

Larna refrained from pulling her hair out and walked back to the room where the others were. When she pulled open the door, she stood in pure and utter amazement at how much the others managed to ruin the state of the room in mere minutes.

Truly, the future of Sorcier was in great hands.

“Uh- Miss Larna!” Maria said as more of a squeak at seeing her, “We- I’m deeply sorry for the state of the room! I promise it was all an accident!” she said as she rushed into a bow, her head held low and her body shaking like she was in the frozen tundra of the north and not the dry halls of the Ministry of Magic.

Larna couldn’t help but muffle a laugh, “No, no, dear. It’s quite alright.” She tapped on Maria’s shoulder to get her to stand up straight, “But… care to tell me what happened exactly?”

“Uh…” Larna watched as Maria’s ears became ever so redder at her question, “Well… it’s a long story…”

Larna then proceeded to listen to a series of words she never once thought would be said together in a sentence.

Prince Alan. Katarina Claes. Fighting. Swords. Bookshelves. Doors. Nicol Ascart. Unconscious Katarina. Prince Geordo. Bleeding nose.

As she took a side glance to Studious Katarina who was now resting on the couch with Lady Hunt and Lady Ascart nearby. Reckless Katarina was now somehow arguing with both Stuart brothers without being on either side.

Larna had a few thoughts.

Maybe she shouldn’t have left them alone. 

Maybe she should keep a closer eye on the future leaders of their nation. 

Maybe she should be scared.

She wasn’t though. If anything, she was more amused and entertained at the scene. Larna noticed the dear light mage was turning pale now, probably scared of what Larna would do.

 “Oh, don’t worry Miss Campbell, nothing a good clean up won’t fix! And plus the janitor here was getting bored with nothing deemed safe enough for regular people to clean up!”

Maria sighed as if a massive weight had been lifted off her shoulders and she excused herself to go and rest on the sofa. Poor girl, the stress of being an employee of the Ministry of Magic was finally catching up on her. Perhaps Larna should go and assign some of Maria’s paperwork to Rapheal to give her a break and just to see what he’ll do. 

Perhaps he’ll snap and start talking to his coffee mug again, or maybe he'll try to bury her alive when she's sleeping.

As Larna mused about her slowly decreasing chances of living to her late thirties, she heard a sound that was quiet enough that no one else heard it, but Larna always had a good trace of her wind magic ready to listen out for any disturbances in the area. 

She walked towards the sound, her pace slow and steady until she rested her hand on the doorknob and twisted it.

As she forced open the door, the figure that was hiding behind fell backwards in shock, making it abundantly clear they were trying to listen in.

Alas, the Prince's Plans contains the scraps of a sequel to The Queen's Tea. The idea of it was Geordo takes a look at his friends after the story, and the state of the kingdom, and goes:

Crap, I'm going to have to become King and make sure they all get somewhere they're all happy again. (Underneath it all, he misses their little challenges a lot and winning wasn't as fun if everyone was just going to give up and be gloomy). We didn't know too much about the other princes when I wrote this, but Geordo would basically look at them and go "Can't figure out Geffery's motivation, that's not safe to leave Katarina's kingdom with" and "Ian's too passive, too easily influenced and scared to trust his own judgement, also can't leave Katarina's kingdom in those hands" and "Never going to make Alan do something he'd actively despise"

Like The Queen's Tea, it would have a chapter from each character as they meet up with Geordo/someone sent by Geordo and he figures out how to make them happy/use them to better the kingdom and slowly start to grow into who they want to be post-Academy. Nicol was easy as Premier, I think I had Mary and Alan in the Diplomacy Corp., Sophia as Minister of Culture, and I didn't write down anyone else.

It required a lot of worldbuilding, contradicted by later light novels, and my understanding of the characters has changed and deepened from when I wrote The Queen's Tea, so this is likely just going to rot. I only had rough drafts for Alan and Nicol's chapters anyway.

But I did have this fun idea in it.

“I don’t think I’d mind it all that much,” Geordo mused, “It would be a little awkward when our children ended up at the Academy and had to explain that they were the progeny of that duke’s daughter and third prince that ran away to raise a farm. But spending all day, every day with Katarina, no games of politics, would be rather nice. We could continually make up new stories about our past and keep everyone entertained.”  

“It would only be fun until you met the first person negatively affected by one of your brother’s poor decisions,” Nicol reminded him. “After that, you would only feel overwhelming guilt.”

Geordo sighed, “You’re right, of course. And it’s not like a farm would be able to keep out Katarina’s hoard of admirers like a castle can occasionally.”

It had quickly become clear to Maria that her friends were not going to harm her after Mary had booped Maria's nose with a playful smirk, but she just knew that someone had to be planning some level of mischief. Little did she know the true source of any sort of such a plot was one much nearer and dearer to her heart...

Where did Katarina get all those tubes of lipstick from? As Geordo and Sophia got Maria to sit at a table, the blonde realized too late what was happening. Katarina had planned on announcing her feelings for Maria in a big way, a way that the poor girl could tell by the devious, but friendly grin being thrown her way, was Mary's plan to leave Maria a flustered wreck as "revenge"...

Maria would have to find a suitably pleasant and embarrassing way to get even with all three of the co-conspirators...

You know, it's kinda weird, but even though the brothers definitely deserve to get called the fuck out about how they treat Mammon, I don't think I've seen much of Mammon getting mad at whoever was doing the callout. Both because it makes him feel bad to hurt his brothers, and also in a "fuck you, you don't know me/us, this is private family shit" kinda way. Even if it's by MC, Mammon seems like he would still be pissed at them acting like they speak for him and for hurting his brothers (even if they deserve it), like most people in pretty toxic situations when that toxic person gets called the hell out and the person stuck in it gets mad at the caller

So according to Wikipedia, Melinoë was born at the mouth of the river Cocytus, where Hermes is stationed as a psychopomp just on the border of the living world and the underworld, which is just a hilarious image of a heavily pregnant Persephone taking a break over by the river when she heads into labor. None of the House of Hades is going to get there in time, thus leaving poor Hermes to play midwife in between bouts of trying to get literally anyone else to help

Lucifer has just enough characters with history with him to feasibly be the main character of an otome game himself. For example:

Diavolo is the clear simp and lonely rich boy with more to him than meets the eye and a very complicated relationship with Lucifer

Simeon as the former childhood friend/first ex who would like to reconcile despite how badly the break-up went [I see them more like brothers in how monks are brothers, don't @ me]

Mephistopheles is the poncy vain jerk who resents Lucifer for past slights but has a nice side to him that he gets super embarrassed about

Solomon is the mysterious weirdo trying to prove to Lucifer that he means no harm and trying to get past all his abandonment issues.

MC is the brand new exchange student that Lucifer warms up to a lot and ends up getting super attached to, despite just how dumb they can be

And for the secret character, Michael, who is a fucking weird dude (I say this with love) and fellow former bestie trying to get close to Lucifer in secret so that Lucifer doesn't push him away again

Add in the brothers and the other characters as a supporting cast and write up some bad endings and you have yourself a good base for a dating sim!

My #1 post of 2022

Fic idea based on this where the RAD newspaper club is going to the Mausoleum of the demon kings for some fluff piece when one gets the bright idea to head inside and do some stuff for the Demon King, pay some respect and maybe some funny pictures. So as one of the members goes in, the others record for a combination of posterity and a desperate attempt to explain it to the authorities if they get caught where they aren't supposed to be.

But as the little leader gets close to where the Demon King lies, they notice something off; the king should be in eternal sleep but he doesn't seem to be breathing. Not like they would know about how the Demon King sleeps, but it's still weird, isn't it?

Then they get close enough and there's definitely something wrong. They haven't seen the King in millennia at this point, but he has this unnatural grey-ish pallor and his body looks limp, not unlike a corpse.

The leader gets a bright idea: approach and touch the King, just to check if he's alive. This is risking getting eaten and their club members all tell them so, but still, gotta try, right?

A gentle poke, nothing.

A soft shove, nothing.

A whisper in the ear, nothing.

A semi-distant shout from an irate Mephistopheles (he must have called the other members at some point about why they went inside), nothing.

That's when the leader decides to check something; touching his chest to see if he's still alive, checking for a heartbeat. So they use their wings to fly up and reach a careful hand to push onto his chest. Only that it sinks upon their touch, like the Demon King's flesh is mattress foam instead of muscle over bone. But what their fingers sink into is the worst part.

It's a stab wound to the center of his chest, with stagnant black blood leaking out onto their hand and coating their fingers with a revolting sheen.

Mephistopheles can barely tell what's going on between all of the screaming, even as he tries to get back order and get some semblance of an explanation. But then he gets the worst news that he had ever heard in his life.

The Demon King is dead, stabbed in the chest who-knows how long ago.

The news is all over the Devildom within hours. It's understandable, their sovereign had been killed at some point and no one had known. The video evidence of the RAD newspaper club finding out is all over social media within minutes, and it's a mass panic for everyone that sees it. Mourning, fear, furious blaming the angels or the humans or just anyone because this can't be real, this can't be happening. The Demon King is dead, murdered.

Diavolo was the first to find out, Mephistopheles calling him in tears. It felt like the world had frozen in place, he was trapped in shock.

Not because his father was dead.

Diavolo was the one who killed him.

It's that people had found out.

So Catarina responds to Geordo with a no. To Keith with a - blush so that's better. But not because blagghhghh. To Sophia with friendly feelings. Nicol seems to have read the devillish count series and wishes outlandish superpowers for himself lol. Very counter his normal attitude seemingly. Catarina has never responded romantically to Alan.

The extract of the light novel 13 made me want to reread Cezar's POV in the light novel 8.

Poor Geordo and Keith.... They don't know it yet... You really underestimated Catarina... He fell in love so fast too...

"She was doing all the right things to bewitch me, without even meaning or realizing it… That was actually scary in a way"

He is sharp ! ^^ In the chinese version it was :

Cezar is really smart ! It seems that he fell head over heels for her... I can't wait for the light novel 13 !

While I don't particularly mind harems, so long as they're balanced, I genuinely don’t get how one as big as Katarina’s work. Especially since in the end, she STILL would need to marry someone because of the setting (the others included) and even then, I often question when they're going to be tired from simping endlessly, in real life even polyamory relationships have that drawback.

Yeah, I do think they have more than they need and the harem could be shrunken down. I know they add to it to, and some characters just don't get as much attention. Like, poor Alan and Nicol, they barely have a lot for them in the manga. I hadn't even realized that Nicol liked her until Sophia was trying to help wingman him.

And if you're not going to bother trying to expand on them, why have them there? Why have them apart of the harem? I believe Alan isn't even all that aware of his feelings for her? So he could've been made to be a good friend of her, drawn to her through friendship and liking his expected future sister-in-law.

And, Keith could be removed as one by having him love Katarina platonically (as it should've been), and you can keep in him always getting in Geordo's way by simply being protective. Partly from not liking the prince, and partly knowing that his sister is making snakes to throw at him if ever needed, so clearly she's not so comfortable with him.

Nicol I wouldn't mind staying as you do have Sophia there trying to wingman for him, which I freaking love. And I'm intrigued enough that I want to see more of him, he's simping so hard on the inside.

But yeah, over all, I don't think they needed the majority to romantically pursue her. Some could've stuck with platonic love instead. And with that, be more open to other options which can lead to more comedy and drama depending on who they fall for. And there can be fun seeing them wingman or intervene. Like, imagine the fun of Alan playing both sides. He wants to build up his brother cause he loves his brother and he's happy to have Katarina as a future in-law and she makes his brother happy, but can you also truly ask him to not take the chance to mess with Geordo? Could be a nice parallel to Sophia who's here to be fully supportive, and here's Alan to be chaotically supprotive for Geordo. That could be funny.

And for the others, can't entirely say just yet. I have met Sora in the manga (finished what was available) and do like him. I've heard there's a new girl named Ginger but haven't met her yet. And I know there's a game coming out in Japan that includes two more guys (Rosie and Silva, don't know if they'll end up being canon or like soft canon).

But yeah, they do have a good sized group and sadly not all hopeful pursuers get the attention they deserve. Poor Alan and Nicol hardly have anything, poor Mary has been moved to more of the background; yeah it should've been shrunken down. As funny as it is for so many to romantically fall for her, they can't cover everything, and some are more important than others (like Geordo and Maria have the most going for them narratively, at leas, to me).
